I've been utilizing Eastside for approximately 10 years. My furbabies are treated as if they were the staff's own. Very pet friendly and loving staff. I've moved over time and am approximately a 20-30 minute drive to cross the bridge but I wouldn't take my girls anywhere else. We love Dr Powell and all the other vets who take charge in a visit where we need to get the girls in quickly. I appreciate all Eastside has done and continue to do.

I’ve been taking my pets to Eastside for over 45 years, Doctor Howard was the vet then, I love all the doctors there. Their caring for our fur babies as if they were their own. The helpers are always nice. The veterinarians call personally with any updates and test results. The two veterinarians I know best is doctor Powell and Doctor Crum. Doctor Powell has been taking care of my 4 year old Yorkie (Gigi) every since we adopted her. Absolutely love these ladies. Yes I would recommend Eastside to everyone. The only thing I wish is that there would be an after hours number to call and a vet on call in case of an emergency so we wouldn’t have to go to Louisville.

Very happy with Eastside, they were very thorough with our dogs exam and pointed out things our other vet had never noticed, or bothered to say anything about. We also felt that they really took a very good amount of time with us to address our dogs issues, they did not make us feel rushed at all. The waiting area was clean and well kept and the front area staff was very welcoming and super friendly!! The actual vet that we saw, was really great as well. We will be back for sure! We really like the fact that they offer at home services for existing clients as well, I'm looking forward to becoming a "existing client" so we can take advantage of that service. When you have large breed dogs like we do, this is a 'huge' benefit!

They also are able to take care of emergencies. They're AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) Accredited too so they have higher standards than most. I feel like Eastside has gone above and beyond to help me take care of my two cats. They are both older and on fluids for kidney disease twice a week. I came here after a previous vet nearly gave up on one of them rather than offering me other options that I was more comfortable with. They arranged it so that I would be able to stay with them during the day until closing and/or bring them back the next day rather than creating more anxiety for both of us. They have also been very flexible with their schedule when my disability requires extra assistance from others to help me transport them every week.Deciding to come here has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

The worst Veterinary in Indiana. Yes, they are overpriced, doctors are ok, but the front desk staff treat people like garbage. I have been going there for a few years. My wife insisted to just keep my mouth shut about they front desk staff, because we were trying to identify the problem with our cat for some time. A year later we moved to Florida, and I was visiting our parents, I come into your office to get a flea treatment for our dog, because we forgot it at home in Florida. You can buy the same flea treatment from any store ( Sam' s Club, PetSmart, etc), I was in you office just to buy the treatment, to support your business. The staff out front was rude to me and did not wanted to sale me a $17 flea treatment because it has been over 1 year and 2 weekends since my dog was seen by your Doctor. So for a $17 flea treatment you wanted me to pay for a doctor visit plus the flea treatment. Once I indicated that was not right for what they were doing to me, they treat me like garbage. Thank you for showing your true color. I hope that they let you go, yes fire you for treat me like that. UPDATE: You are right this happened over a year ago, but I felt that was important to let future customers know what kind of a business this is. You should have mentioned that you are sorry for my experience and that you will address this issue thru training your employees for a better customer experience. That's how you try to fix a problem.

Took my furry demon (domestic house cat) in for a check up / rabies and distemper shots. Everyone was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Prices were extremely reasonable. The vet and assistant were both great with handling my cat giving her the shots. Would deff recommend coming here!

Great experience! On a Saturday, our lab started acting very lethargic and had us very concerned. Our normal vet in Corydon was closed so we called Eastside and they got him in 2 hours later! Both the tech and Dr. Gatewood were sooo gentle and thorough with him. You could tell that they truly care for the animals. We are going to take our dogs to Eastside from here on out, worth the 45 minute drive!!

I was blown away by the service at Eastside. I took my newly adopted dog there for her first checkup and to get her meds up to date, and the staff went above and beyond all my expectations. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated like family, and everyone we encountered was kind and friendly. The vet tech Bethany was super patient with my pup who is still very skiddish around people, and took extra care to make sure she was as comfortable as possible. Dr. Powell is awesome! You can tell she really cares for animals and treats them as if they are her own. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered my extensive list of questions (first rescue dog mom here.) She also gave me extra advice on how to help ease my pup’s transition into a permanent home. And they gave her lots of treats to make her feel better about having to get her shots! Yes, compared to some of the other vet offices in the area, this clinic seems to have slightly higher prices. But they were happy to break down costs and explain everything beforehand. The customer service there really is unparalleled. Having gone and experienced it now, I will gladly pay that little extra every time for the superior level of care they offer! If you are looking for a clinic that you can fully trust to give your pet the best care and attention it deserves, this is the place for you.

The doctors and staff are wonderful. I would give them 5 stars but their prices are a bit high and they seem to have “tricks” to get you to pay more. Like saying dogs have to be on flea medication(good) but not accepting flea meds bought anywhere except from a vet. Like you would go to another vet to by it from. They would not even accept flea meds bought from Petmeds a trusted online Pharnacy. The boarding and grooming are great. And the compassion of the doctors and staff is second to none.

I will never come back! Each time I come there is an up charge... Today I brought my dog in to be groomed expecting to pay $40 to $50. After the up charges what I consider not medically necessary by bill was $110. The grooming was terrible. The Dog looks like crap. I could have done a better job myself. We will always come to Eastside. Three years ago, our two year old Dalmatian went into liver failure. If Dr. Hays hadn't done the wellness blood test just for precautionary purposes, as well as, comparisons for later, we would not have known in time to save her life. We now know she is only 1 of 5 Dalmatians alive, according to Dalmatians Club of America, in the US. She also just received the highest award in AKC agility, her MACH. This shows how healthy and active a dog can be with a great veterinarian hospital giving you an early diagnosis to what is normally fatal. Thank you, Eastside!

Dr. Amy Lutgen was wonderful and went above my expectations of a veterinarian. Zoey had emergency surgery on a Saturday for an intestinal blockage, and had to have 2 feet of her intestines removed. Dr. Lutgen took great care of her, went out of her way to make sure Zoey was comfortable, even on her off days, and allowed us to visit Zoey even after hours. Once Zoey was sent home, Dr. Lutgen followed up with me everyday to ensure Zoey was healing properly and was showing no signs of distress. Dr. Lutgen truly cares about her patients, I would highly recommend taking your fur babies to Eastside!

The only reason for the 4 stars is because they are WAY over priced on some of their procedures. I Had a estimate of $690 for a procedure then went to my other Vet to get second opinion and quote. The procedure was $215. So their is a great deal of up-pricing. The staff are incredible! Great doctors and even more importantly the Care staff that do everything else. We visit them for certain pet needs and are glad to have them!

Adrine was very polite on the phone and sorry that she was unable to accommodate us. However, the news that even though I do take my dogs to the vet and keep all they're shots updated, (because we do a lot of camping at state and Federal parks) They would not be accepted because of a shot they require, was quite a shock. I understand that they don't want any spread of disease but the four week incubation period on their so called "flu Shot" not possible for me to accommodate. I love my dogs and will not be giving them a "worthless" flue shot (according to recent studies). Thing is, my vet has never recommended a "flu shot" for my dogs, and if they did, I would probably decline. The health of my dogs is more important than the money that seems to be being made from these "flu Shots". I have had friends that have gone threw that with they're beloveds, and I don't wish that on any animal, however after consulting with my vet, they still will not accommodate me. The only reason I have not given them a 1 is because of the awesomeness of Adrine. I could tell that she was sympathetic to the problem and did what she could.

I have taken my cat to Eastside for years, and won't take him anywhere else. They are designated a Cat Friendly Practice, meaning they use techniques to minimize stress for cats specifically. I've seen several different vets and techs here over the years, and they all handle my cat gently, speak softly, and minimize stressful sounds and movement. The exam rooms are clean, with no noticeable odors (I've been in exam rooms elsewhere that smelled strongly of dog). The vets have all been fantastic: knowledgeable, caring, and informative. They listen to my concerns, and explain their diagnoses and treatment recommendations clearly. Highly recommend, especially for cats!

Eastside has been taking care of my dogs since I moved to Southern Indiana in 1995. During that time I've had a variety of dogs with a variety of health issues, all of which Eastside treated in an effective manner. The people there are always friendly and accommodating. They treat your pet as their own. They also have depth in terms of capability and appear to stay up on the latest and greatest. Chiropractic treatments, who would have thought? A few weeks ago I called to reserve boarding for my pup. This boarding started on a Sunday. I received two confirmation emails and a text about this boarding starting on October 13th (a Sunday). When I showed up on said Sunday, there was no one to take my dog. I knocked on every door multiple times, rang the doorbell ALOT, even went out back and screamed hello! I also called and left 2 voicemails. The confirmed email I received stated he could be dropped off anytime after 10 am or before 3 pm. It did not state any specific instructions for Sunday. That being said I found someone to watch my dog that night and take my dog in the next morning so I could catch my flight. I was upset about this. I got over it. I went to pick my dog back up on the morning of the 17th (today). A few hours later, I notice that my pup has a terrible cough/ hack that I have never heard before. He has not eaten all day and although still energetic, nowhere near as rambunctious as usual. Therefore, around 6pm, I took my dog back up to Eastside Animal Hospital to check him out. The vet told me that his symptoms were corespondent with Kennel Cough or the flu. Let me note that he is the epitome of health and has never been sick before. She asked if he had been around any other dogs before he came to be boarded. I said yes, one, but I know for sure this dog is up to date on shots and does not have the flu or anything wrong. My dog WAS NOT sick before coming to Eastside to be boarded. A vet assistant even stopped in to tell the vet that he had a runny nose starting earlier this morning (clearly the start of his symptoms). They sent me home with a sick dog. I took him to be checked out and THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME for the visit AND $130 in medication. I said this was unacceptable being as he got sick while being boarded at their facility. The vet assistant left the room and came back only to tell me that they waved the visit charge but I’d still have to pay for the medication. Ironic because I pay them monthly for a wellness plan that should cover visits such as this even if it wasn’t 100% their fault that he was sick in the first place. I let her know how insane it was that my dog, who got vaccinated at their facility to prevent things like this, got sick while being boarded there. And how even more ridiculous it was that they were trying to charge me to treat him! She just stared at me like she’d never had a conversation with a human before. I left because I was incredibly upset and I will only be back to get his vet records and tell them they’ve lost my business. I don’t recommend this place to anyone who cares about their pet’s well being. They surely do not care about anything but dollar signs.

I am so happy about this vet. I have never been disappointed with their service, and they are always very nice. The email and call reminders are very helpful in remembering appointments. I've been a customer here since 2010 with my two furry feline friends, and one time I even came by accidentally on the WRONG DAY! They were incredibly nice about it and were able to work me in anyway. Their staff are very experienced and handle animals extremely well.

Their services are fine, but their boarding has become ridiculously expensive. They have started charging by the day instead by the night. My dog was there less than 24hrs and it cost me over $60.00! No-one else in town charges this way. I also sent a polite email asking the office manager to confirm their billing practices and I never got a response!

My wife and I have 2 dogs and Dr. Gatewood takes excellent care of them (and us). She is always kind, professional, and passionate about her work, and we always leave feeling like we received optimal care. I truly cannot recommend Dr. Gatewood, and all of the Eastside Animal Hospital staff, highly enough; they will treat you (and your pets) like family. We'll never go anywhere else!

The veterinarians and staff here are very kind, knowledgeable, and put the health of your pet first. The facility is very clean, and well equipped. The prices are comparable to other veterinary clinics in the area, even though they are one of the few AAHA accredited practices in the area. They have extended hours. They have someone on site to take care of hospitalized pets at night and on weekends, which is something many clinics do not have. They also have grooming and boarding services. I highly recommend this practice and personally drive from about an hour away to bring my pets here.

The exemplary care provided by the entire staff at Eastside Animal has been consistent for the last 15 years for our animal menagerie that has included reptiles, cats and dogs. Both the annual checkups and emergency medical situations have been addressed with amazing skill, efficiency and compassion. It is clear that the staff and physicians place the best interest of each animal at the forefront but effectively and honestly communicate with owners about care, options and costs. My only complaint is when i called you guys a few days ago one of your receptionists was very rude, which kind of takes away from my overall satisfaction of this business. There are really no words to describe my visit. I haven't encountered such loving, caring and friendly people in a long time. I was nervous (and crying) and my dog was nervous. They assured me everything would be fine and it was. Everyone is so nice and helpful. All of my fears were over by the time I left. Jenna, who was our groomer, did an excellent job. Dr. Crum was gentle and answered all of my questions. Made a follow-up phone call with the results of the tests. My Mr. Peebody was in good hands. I am struck by how happy these people are. They love animals & humans! Last but not least, had it not been for Jonna, the lovely woman who answered my initial phone call, I wouldn't have taked my dog there. She was so kind and helpful. What a wonderful first impression. My new friend Carrie Martin is awesome! It was a wonderful experience. Such happy happy people. Thank you all so much!

This place is absolutely ridiculous! Why in the world do you even bother giving people an "appointment" when an hour after my "appointment "I'm still waiting in your waiting room to be seen! Then when I finally get to the room I have an additional 20 minute wait before the doctor even walks in! your front desk staff is rude! You people are ridiculous ! I do NOT recommend!

Just moved to the area and this place was right down the street and boy am I glad. They were exceptional with my cat. She had been having seizures but they were only for short amounts of time. I got there 15 minutes before my scheduled time (10am) and I was in and out in less than 2 hours. They also had two emergencies while I was there. They were extremely thorough in figuring out what was with my little furry one. The place was super clean as well. An overall great experience and I will definitely be back for times to come.

I had never been there before yesterday, but when I called, they set me up with an appointment on the same day. The veterinarian who helped my cat was so nice and explained everything to me. The service was not overlong or extended and my cat is doing great. I was very stressed prior to getting there but left with my cat in good health and a smile on my face from the great service. I would recommend them!

We've been going here for years. All the Vets are professional, however, we always prefer to see Dr. Crum. She is friendly, listens, and is so good with my two little dogs. They do seem to be higher than other vets, however, the friendliness of the vets and office staff, and the extras they help me with keeps me going back.

The staff, including the lady Vet who saw our cat, Yogi were all very professional. They communicated effectively and treated Yogi kindly and affectionately. The charges for the first visit with labs were fairly reasonable. Thursday Yogi goes back for a possible tooth extraction. Those rates were detailed and the options explained clearly.
