I have 6 cats stemming from easy to very difficult and they can handle it all. My little girl Peaches has Kidney disease and they have kept her healthy and happy. Big guy Lennie has a fear of vets and will tear them up but they figured what to do and he gets his shots. Thank you all staff of hospital

I took my dog to Danville Veterinarian Hospital to have his tail looked at for a problem he was having. After a few appointments about a deformity we made the decision to have it removed from his tail. During these appointments, the Dr said once we had this deformity removed he would be good. So after his outpatient surgery to remove the deformity from his tail (what we thought was happening the whole time) I went to pick him up only to find out that THEY REMOVED HIS WHOLE TAIL without discussion with me before they did it! This was never discussed with us and they never got my permission to remove it!! After a discussion with the Dr over the phone about this incident she claimed that she was doing what was “ethical” for him. I requested for my money to be returned for the services they did that was NOT agreed upon! She (the Dr) told me I was not going to be refunded and that if I was concerned about it as much as I was then maybe I should have asked more questions to be clear on what was going on. She was extremely rude on the phone and could care less what my concerns were and was unwilling to own up to her mistake. I will never take another animal to her for anything. I will make sure in any way that anyone who hasn’t been or goes to Danville Veterinarian hospital, hears about it and hopefully will save anyone else from a similar experience or worse. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE! They do not care what you want for your pet, and will willingly do what what they want. They also are high priced and are always looking for any reason to squeeze another buck out of your pocket! I hope this review saves someone from not experiencing what I have with them!

We have been patients of Dr Portwood’s for about 7 years now. We actually live on the south side now but make the drive to Danville each visit. We have 4 dogs and they are all getting older and all have health issues so we have been in quit a bit over the past few months. We have actually been patients of Dr Crystal and Dr Shelly as well and feel like the quality of care is outstanding with all three doctors. The vet staff(techs) are amazing and answer all of our questions and are great with our fur babies. Lorrie and Brittany are great at what they do! They are always cheerful and kind. They definitely make you feel welcomed when you walk in. I highly recommend Danville Veterinary Hospital.

This place is amazing! Everyone here is so kind! My dog was attacked by another dog and we brought him in here, within a few hours he was stitched up ready to go home. This picture was from our way back for his checkup. He healed great and everything turned out good! He was anxious to get the cone off :) if you are looking for a new vet, I highly recommend coming here!

They are very good with cats and could pencil us in when I was home from college, which was so convenient. Staff is very friendly and unfortunately, my old kitty Tobey passed away the night that we took him there. They sent my family a card that was all personally signed by them all and gave him back to us in a little paw print blanket. One of the saddest days of my life, but this vet clinic treated me with great care and sympathy during these times. They did all they could for Tobey, he was just very old and suffered kidney failure. I highly recommend this vet to anyone in Hendricks Co., because I haven't been able to find such personable doctors on this side of Indianapolis and your pets will truly be in caring hands here.

When I got my first kitten he got sick and the vet in Lafayette was incompetent so he ended up getting worse and getting bronchitis. When I went home for Christmas I brought my poor sick kitten to Danville. I’d known Dr. Portwood for a while and trusted her office would actually make him feel better. I was not disappointed. I now live south of Indianapolis, but I still drive the 45 minutes to use this office because I know the people here will take care of me and my cats. Thanks guys!!

Eragon had a wonderful experience here. They have given me a way to treat his high separation anxiety while I am at work and I am also able to effectively groom him myself.

One of the only places I have found that works well with my dogs anxiety, prepares for her to come in, and understands her. I love that the staff is primarily women, due to some dogs having fear of men.
