Very overpriced. Cost me $300 to find out my cat was constipated and they wanted me to get a echcardiogram for another $100+ which was not necessary. They told me they were "sending a travel size of feliway home to try" and didnt tell me they woukd be charging me $22 for it.. You can get the full size for $15 online. Doctor didnt seem confident which i believe is why she ordered so many things my cat didn't need.

I went to them in my worst time of need my min pin was so very sick but they never ever told me just how very sick he was!! Cause he died not even make it 9 hrs after leaving and they did say I could leave him but why because nobody was there with him through the night so I brought him home and he died

Our dog that only adorpted about a month or so before got serverly ill all of the sudden. Only a few days before my payday. We ended up taking him to another vet who qouted us an outragous amount even adding on xrays and other exspensive tests that they know we couldnt pay as its only days before our payday. Instead of just taking care of and quoting the fix for the underline problem they tols us or if you need to have him put down we will wave to office visit. Thats when we said we are going to go find another vet to care for him as he is our adopted son so to speak. We ended up at Arlington Heights Animal Hospital south and we exsplained our problem and the vet Anne a very nice caring lady I got to say looked over him and suggested what needs to be done and as it was less then half what the other place wanted we still couldn't do it so we ended up just getting the medications which he needed to get him healthy once again. All the staff members were pleasent and caring and they dont realize how thankful we are that they saved our boy. We have now found our vet and will continue to have them see our baby boy! Thank you to the vet Anne and all the staff who helped our boy Snickers on his road to recovery. We are truly thankful and to anyone reading this we as well as Snickers would recommend this vet to all who love their pets and wants the best and afforable care that they can possibly get. Oh one more thing before I end this. He had goopy eyes... we decided that we did not want to wipe them clean as too show all of his symptoms. The first vet mentioned it and only mentioned it. Anne the vet at Arlington asked about it then got down floor level with him and wiped them clean first thing. Really shown her true love for the pets us as owners love. She is in the vet business for the love of the pets and not onky for the money thats in it!

After waiting 3 hours, I was given a medication that was supposed to help. I was told something opposite from what another vet at the same place told me on my last visit. Then I was told to call and let the vet know how my cat was doing. After a week his problem had mostly cleared then came back before his meds were even done. I called the vet, let them know. They said my vet was in a meeting and would call later that day. On the 3rd day someone called to ask if my cat had completely healed up. I told them again what happened and again they said someone would call me back later today. I am going to go to another vet. I feel this place is taking on way too much to be able to offer good care to pets or people. I have paid $80 someodd dollars and spent 2 weeks of time to be back at square one. Thanks for nothing!

If I could give 0 stars I would. My mother was in Bloomington for the weekend and took possession of an 8 week old kitten that was being abused by a group of homeless people. The kitten started having seizures in the middle of the night and my mom called this vet for help, as it is the only office that was categorized as an emergency vet. The vet refused to treat the kitten because my mom was not a client, despite her offers to prepay the bill. I don't know how any veterinarian can refuse help to a dying kitten over worries that a new customer wouldn't pay. He now has to live with the fact that the kitten didn't make it through the night (and passed away suffering) over his concerns over bill payment. I would never trust this vet with the care of my animals, he clearly doesn't care about his patients or animals in general.

We went to the other location until it burned down. The staff at this location didn't know their medicine very well, messed up our appointment, were easily confused, and the waiting area was packed. It was also a little pricier than the other location had been. We will probably try find another vet if the other location doesn't open again.

William Ellis

They did a great job with my cat.

These people make you feel like their proierty really is about your pet

Over priced. The staff was very nice but the veterinarian was not personable at all. I had twin shih tzu dogs and the brother got killed by a car and the sister hasn’t been eating. Her breath smells like her teeth are rotting and her eye has an ulcer in it. The vet charged me 125$ just to look at my dogs eye and give her eye drops. She didn’t look at her teeth or even mention anything about her teeth and her not eating. She didn’t give me a chance to ask anything about it either. I know she was busy but it’s very important to know what to do when your dog isn’t eating possibly because they are grieving over their twin that just died the day before and their breath smells like something rotten. I’m worried about my pup. I won’t go back there. The one on Arlington rd is a way better place. They seem to really care. The only reason I gave two stars is because of the staff, they were exceptionally sympathetic and caring. I guess since it’s Sunday I will just use Google to find out what to do to help my dog.

Anita Bonnell

Out dog suddenly got sick and we were referred here because they take walk ins. Dr.Miller waswvery helpful and respectful as we had to put our dog down. We have since adopted 2 cats and they will be going here for their care.

They are the best. If your animal needs them they a re e there.

My golden retriever had blockage in her intestines(she ate one of my daughters socks and it got stuck). She had to have a $2000 surgery or die (my current vet said this surgery should have cost far less than this) I paid half at time of service and arranged a payment arrangement for the rest. The surgery went great and my golden has been fine ever since. I fell behind on my payments due to loss of employment. Instead of working with me, they sued me. I am now paying what I can every month to the courthouse, accruing so much interest that I will never pay it off....Today I called Arlington Emergency line because my other golden is lethargic and coughing. It is Sunday, my new vet isn't open on Sundays. I told them his symptoms and they said he should be seen today. I told them my name and they immediately said they cannot treat him until I pay off my past due balance.....They do not care about Animal's lives. They care about money. Avoid this vet.

Told us something was wrong with our cat and had a schedule a follow-up to get him scans. Show up and they literally just look at him and say we need to schedule scans and we say that's what this appointment is and they say they can't do it we have to schedule an appointment so we do for the next Friday (the next availability according to them) Friday rolls around and they tell us that doctor is only in on Tuesdays so to come in Tuesday for a walk in, I get there Tuesday and suddenly the doctor is only there Tuesday but after 2pm This institution doesn't care about animals, they just want their money. The first appointment I had for my cat I asked them if we could do scans that day and they said I had to be able to pay for it all and I was 15$ short... Thanks for nothing atlingtonheights. *Edit* looks like the "owner" only checks positive reviews. No wonder, the truth hurts.

New to the area, I walked in on a Friday night with my 14 year old kitty that was struggling to walk. He had made a mess on himself in his crate, and the staff took him right back and cleaned him up while we waited to get in. They were having computer issues and were very busy, but the staff was absolutely wonderful regardless. I was very emotional, I know my time with my baby is limited. I can't say enough good about the vet and her staff.....in this crazy world we live in with compassion a thing of the past, it's nice to know that there is a place like this❤ Kudos and thank you so very much for your kindness!!!!

Chip Sedory

Came in w an emergency as my dog had eaten Xylitol and time was of the essence before digesting began. They took him in immediately and got the situation fixed. Wonderful vets.

Rikki Jean

We had to put our dear fourlegged friend down today. Arlington saw him at walk-in around 5:30. Stayed late to let my mother and I say our goodbyes. I missed the young Dr.’s name but he was very understanding. Gave us good options and helped us through a very tough decision. Thank you Arlington.

Megan Brunn

Caring people that work hard to care for pets!

Dying Moths

Honestly, they let me walk out, distraught with my dead cat in my hands, and wander the parking lot for an hour. no one tried to help me. the doctor was cold and methodical. . my previous experiences were golden. but I feel it is important for people to J ow they did not care one bit about what I went through in the death of my best friend. unfortunately, they are the only option for a qualified vetranary clinic, locally. hopefully someone with compassion. and knowledge of modern practices comes along. z Turns out, my cat with tumors caused by leukemia was readily testable, but they just gave her prednisolone and then murdered my cat. at here is now a T-Cell treatment for feline leukemia, and tumors are very easy to remove. do't let your vet murder your loved one. contact me first.

tom godwin

Waited 6 hours in a emergency situation to be seen. Extremely expensive. And got no answers .they gave my dog a antibiotic in pill form but no shot to get it going we almost lost him. Thank goodness for Elletsville Veterinary clinic they saved our fur baby .. Nice people poor service at Arlington.

The prices are very reasonable. As of the time of this writing it's a bit hectic there because their other location had a fire, but usually you can get an appointment in the same week and they can sometimes answer simple questions over the phone.

Hillary Feldmeyer

We used this vet for the first time in January of 2016 as they were one of the only vets that would see new patients on a weekend, late in the day. Tragically we had to have our cat euthanized but the level of compassion shown was beyond anything we could have expected. We now take all of our pets here and Dr. Anna is by far one of the best vets I've worked with in the past 16 years, the staff is also very patient and kind.

Excellent staff and service. They gave me an itemized estimate and helped work with my budget.

Lux Amator

Absolutely terrible service. I needed two doses of Bravecto for my 13 pound dogs. Dr. Bob on the north side sold them to me after checking my dogs out and said they were very healthy dogs. This year I went to the south side location and the vet (not sure her name) told me they needed rabies vaccines before getting their bravecto! I said hell no they are not getting rabies vaccines and that they already had them when they were younger. She refused to give them the bravecto until they had more rabies vaccines. I waited over an hour in the waiting room and another lengthy wait in the room just to tell me that. The people at the desk could have explained that to me before I even got there when I called them on the phone to inquire about the bravecto. That’s when they told me the vet needed to examine them before prescribing the tic meds. It’s all about $$ to them. The rabies vaccine for two indoor dogs is unnecessary and could cause more harm than good. I do not recommend this pathetically operated place.

Elly Brown

Great vet! Helped my dog when it had a major ear infection and also when my dog had to get it’s eye removed.

To notch care for all animals-- dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles, and exotics.

C Courtright

Non-invasive approach tried FIRST. We are very happy. Our heeler had a ruptured ACL and, after the x-ray, the Doc did not suggest surgery as we had feared. Instead, she had us keep her confined, taking anti-inflammatories and getting some focused laser heat treatments on the injury. We followed the regime carefully and our dog is walking normally again. It took time but it's been worth it. Now we're careful with her, because it may happen again. Luckily this is our couch potato of the two, not the dog who loves to run around madly, so we are optimistic. We will certainly go back to this vet!!

Jason Burnett

Always very nice and helpful. Easy to talk to and ask question.

I brought a pit bull into this facility and felt like I and/or she were being judged by others. Some of the staff were super friendly while the actual vet was pretty rush rush to get out of room. I didn't receive very good education. I am happy with the treatment plan though. Dog was an adopted stray so a little unruly but she is a sweet girl.

Sit there about 1.5 hours and never did get in. One lady was like not that is not the insulin my dog takes, one lady two cats they got them mixed up. Very unorganized, will never go back, horrible service. Still don't know why they needed my social security number for my pet. We will go to Indy Monday. Will never ever go back here. Would give zero stars if I could. Tired to make an appointment and they refused that too.

Hands down, Dr. Anna is the best thing since sliced bread. My 11 year old Basenji, Archie, had not been able to walk more than a few steps for almost a week. It was to the point where I had to carry him to potty each and every time. We were lead in a few different directions until Dr. Anna got her hands on him. From the initial few seconds of talking to her, we felt something different. She genuinely cared. She sat in the floor with Arch man and rubbed his back. She got him on a proper regiment and 3 days later, he jogged for the first time in months. A month later and he is better than he was 4 years ago. I can't sing her praises enough. Thank you Arlington Heights and most especially Dr. Anna.

A great place to take your ailing kitty! Suggest you call ahead, tho. South side by Kroger is alot easier to reach than the main office at Arlington Heights on old SR46.

I made a Google account in order to write this comment and I would not have given any stars if possible. Doctors were as the emergency vet in Indy said negligent. Me and my sister brought our dog into the south clinic 3 different times in the course of a week for them to give us dog food and random pills, when his condition was not getting any better we took him back and they gave him more pills. He continued to get worse as the night progressed and we had to rush him to the indy 24 hr clinic where he passed away because his condtition was too severe, they said it was obviously not a kidney infection as the other vet stated. These doctors have zero idea what they are doing and did nothing but give us false hope while watching our dog slowly die.

Just like the Bloomington animal hospital, if there was a zero star to choose I certainly would for this vet too. We had a traumatic experience the other night, watching a beloved dog of a close family of mine get struck by a car going 40+ miles an hour. Not the drivers fault, who was actually right there helping with him. We called this vet which was closest to us and explained the dire situation this 10 year old chocolate lab was in, he was critically wounded and crying out in pain. Bleeding from his mouth and i thought it was a miracle that, after what I witnessed, that he didn’t die on impact. This vet, who was actually very rude on the phone, knew it was life or death and they would not make an exception on rushing him to their office to exam his situation and letting the family make a hard decision. Apparently their emergency service is only for their patients, which I can’t understand in this situation. They should specify this on their google for just this kind of thing. This vet along with Bloomington animal hospital made this event that much more painful. The dog went to his house to suffer until, at 1:30am, an empathic veterinarian, drove down from Indianapolis and examined him and helped the family decide to put him down to end his suffering. God only knows how much he would of had to suffer without the care and concern of this amazing vet. I wish I knew her name but I know she came to college mall veterinary in the middle of the night. Never will I think of using this vet or Bloomington animal hospital. Zero stars is an accurate description of this place.

Dyana Dayhuff

The staff is awesome here! They are very thorough in making sure they take care of any issue or concern you may have. My Shepard was a bit uncomfortable with the vet and she took the time to give him treats and make sure he wasn't so nervous with his experience. They give great advice and know what they're talking about. Best care possible here. Will definitely be back.

Alexandra Creech

If I could give no stars I would. The experience we had was TERRIBLE! My boyfriend got at the clinic at 5:30 and waited 3 hours to be seen. There was people that came in after him got seen before our dog. Our dog went in for a hygroma which was a fluid filled sac above his elbow and some vomiting. Literally my boyfriend was the last person to be seen. The doors were locked and all the employees were packed up and ready to go home. As he was in the waiting room he waited another 20 minutes to be seen then finally when the vet came in she acted as if we were interrupting her. She took our dog back to drain his hygroma and when she brought him back with no bandages and with blood still dripping from his elbow. I had to badange him up myself when he got home. Then made us pay $70 for medicine. It was a horrible experience and don’t recommend going there. It’s not worth your time.

Debra Smith

I like all the vets I saw. They take good care of my maxx

Ash Olli Kulak

Summary? Big rip off. So my cat has chronic allergies. She needs steroid shots every three months. Went to Arlington North and the vet there was straightforward and great about how nothing really helps except steroid shots. Went to do appointments at South because it's easier to do an appt than walk-in for my schedule. Both times I went, the vets kept asking me about doing all these other procedures that have not worked on her and are a waste of time and money. First time, I saw someone who only charged me the cost of the vaccine ($35) because the visit lasted less than 5 minutes. Second time, I saw Pinkerton who charged me $80 for a visit that lasted less than 5 minutes. The vet techs wouldn't let me leave without paying $45 for the 1-2 pet office visit for my one pet that lasted under 5 minutes plus the $35 shot that Pinkerton said she reduced from the last time I came in. I did not want to have my pet's dosage reduced and had to stay longer to call my bank to transfer money into my account, as I only had $40 in it fully expecting it to be $35 like the first visit. So then I wake up this morning, less than one month after the visit, to find my cat has more sores. The shot didn't work because she gave my pet much less of a dosage than before. So I pay $80 for a shot that lasts less than a month despite the fact that the two prior visits I paid much less for shots that worked a full three months. I called to complain, and they called back saying they can't do anything except give her Zyrtec and Bendryl, which I have tried before and don't work. NEVER go to Pinkerton. She will take your money and force you to come back to her sooner than you would have before. I spent two weeks' worth of grocery money on a vet visit that lasted less than 5 minutes and a shot that lasted less than one month. Worst waste of money ever.

This place has been absolutely wonderful for our rats. I've taken 3 there now and the lady that helped us all 3 times now knew what was going on and was able to help where she could. Going off memory there is a walk in day on the weekend I think, but you can also schedule an appointment. As far as appointments go, one of the rats had about a week wait to get in, but another appointment we scheduled ended up being same day. So calling and deciding whether an appointment or a walk in would be better could help.

These folks assisted me in putting down my beloved dog of 14 years after heroic attempts To prolong her life and ease her suffering. They were amazing. They were genuinely concerned about me and clearly felt terrible about the situation. But I couldn’t have imagined a more supportive more meaningful end for my girl. Thank you Dr. G and all the staff. You made the most difficult day of my life a whole lot easier.

Joshua J

Waited 40 minutes before seeing a vet! We always make sure to set up an appointment before going, but ever since they started seeing walk-ins the wait times have dramatically increased. There have been times when a walk-in came in after us, but was taken to an examination room before us. I can understand a wait time of 15-20 minutes, but waiting 40 minutes or more is ridiculous. The staff are very kind, but that doesn't make up for the extra time it takes out of my day. Don't accept appointments if you can't at least stay fairly close to the scheduled time.

Ms. Mallory Monroe Robertson

We love our vet techs at Arlington!

Karen Cooprider

The best Vet in the area!! Everyone that works at Arlington sincerely care about your pet(s). They are so patient about phone calls to check on your furbabies after surgery. We have been going to Arlington since 1972. ♥️♥️♥️

Brittany Kearby

I would I would give zero Stars if I could it clearly says emergency services available but when I called them because my dog was in a fight with other dogs gushing blood from his stomach they refused service because I wasn't a current patient!! So they need to put that in parentheses when they say emergency service is available I told them I didn't think he'd make it to Indianapolis! But they didn't care. Why getting a business to help animals if you're not willing to help them on a Saturday? It's shameful

We have been here twice now for a check-up for our dog. The first time they were really helpful. Unfortunately, they have been less pleasant to interact with when we came back a year later for a check-up and deal with some minor health problems our dog was experiencing. The vet recommended a blood test but seemed eager to move onto the next patient. Busy day perhaps. However, we were then having a very difficult time getting ahold of the vet to find out about the blood test results (aren't they supposed to get ahold of us?). In addition, my partner and I got two different sets of information (as to whether he had a UTI or not) the two times that we were independently able to get ahold of someone with expertise. Overall, it seems like either they don't care or they have too many animals to see and not enough vets. Not the best when you're spending a lot of money.

I've taken my cats to this vet for two years now. They're great with appointments, on time, and are always thorough and professional; I've never waiting for than a few days to make an appointment, and never wait more than a few minutes to have my cat seen. They also don't try to upsell me on products and services, and often make great suggestions for cheaper alternatives to treat my cat's minor issues. The best part is that have an after-hours emergency line you can call if there's an emergency, and one of their branches is walk-in only in case you need that service. This is a great vet's office with great services and it comes at super affordable prices. Highly recommend.

Anna Deckard

I’ve been to this clinic a few times, the vets themselves are absolute angels......however the techs are painfully rude. Switching clinics due to their lack of care and politeness. My advice is just skip this place as a whole and go ANYWHERE else.

I made an appointment for this Vet. As they were recommended from a friend. Made an appointment for 1:PM, and showed up 10 minutes early. All was fine got into a Room and got my pet weight done. good to go still have 5 minutes before my appointment. -_- I then sat in this room for the next 50, yes 50 Minutes. It is now 45 Minutes PAST my appointment time. Nobody has said a single word to me at all. I collect my pet and on the way out the door I tell all the people at the reception desk that i thought is was bad form to make people wait that long. Guy behind the desk responds with "Don't be a Dick" ..... OMG! O_o Really! I guess they do not really care about anybody or their pets. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET! Oh yea I HAVE to give them at least a 1 star because it won't let me post otherwise. Wish i could give them -3 Stars

Was not happy with my visit

Danielle Gunkel

Update: After being contacted by the owner and seeing several changes to the way they are handling customer service and records, I'm changing my review. I've always been happy with the medical services themselves and it seems now the customer service is matching once again. The record-keeping and attitude of the front desk staff (one woman in particular) are so bad that I'm thinking of switching vets. We've been coming to the Arlington location for more than a decade and they were always wonderful. When we moved 5 years ago we started going to the southside location and they always tell me our dogs are not up-to-date because Arlington is either not updating their system or can't figure out how to use it to find the information. I need to refill my dogs seizure meds every 90 days, and each time they say they need new bloodwork for her. Each time I tell them the date of the last bloodwork and they can't find it in their system. The last time they told me I hadn't brought my dog in since 2015, even though we've been in each year! On top of that, I have to tell them that we need the bloodwork each year during our visit because otherwise they won't ask about or do it, suggesting that their records don't reflect my dog's actual conditions and/or they just don't care. And I have to be sure to ask for (i.e. fight for) a 90 day refill on the meds because they'll always just give me 30 days instead, giving me the joy of this experience every month. Finally, when I call in to refill the meds it is hit or miss on whether they will be ready for me when I show up that day; one time the woman at the desk (always the same woman who is too happy to tell you how busy she is as if it's your problem) who had been the one I talked to on the phone outright told me she just hadn't passed it along to the person who needed to refill it.

The staff at Arlington Heights South are endlessly informative, patient and compassionate. I never question that my pet is getting thorough care and thoughtful recommendations on his health. I would definitely recommend Arlington Heights South to anyone looking for animal care in Bloomington.

I normally never participate in rating anyone or place, but I feel this should be shared for the sake of others who could be needlessly euthanized. I was referred to Arlington for a US guided biopsy after an x-ray could not determine what was being seen on my 4.5 yr old American Bullys' back left leg. DR Dale only did another x-ray and determined it was cancer. My options were $10-12,000 of treatments, amputate her back left leg, maybe giving her a few more months--1 1/2 yrs tops, OR put her down. Needless to say I was devastated. I don't have that kind of $. He sent me back to my Dr. in Worthington (majorly upset and crying all the way)THANK THE GOOD LORD he did. Dr. Royer was not about to do either of the such drastic measures left considering DR Dale had not even done the biopsy I was referred there for to determine for certain if it was cancer. Long story short, BEAUTY IS STILL WITH ME TODAY, thanks to prayer, Dr. Royer, and 2 weeks of meds., which really she was walking normally just after a couple doses of strong antibiotics and pain meds. Her follow up x-ray last Wed. showed all clear. I give GOD and Dr. Royer ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF PRAISE AND THANKS..... I WILL NEVER SEE DR DALE AGAIN NOR EVER REFER ANYONE TO ARLINGTON. I still have to wonder why in the world would he do that????Diagnose something so horrific without proper testing...he said he was 98 percent sure. I'm so VERY HAPPY it was just later that same day determined to be a possibly BOGUS diagnosis, and Dr. Royer was not willing to take such drastic, horrible, irretrievable actions.

I started taking my cat to them when she started showing signs of a bad infection shortly after I got her. (Wheezing, coughing, sneezing, goopy eyes, lethargy, foul smelling ears, etc.) They've been really good with her thus far. She's been in with one other infection and a couple more times because of her asthma, and I've been very pleased. They also take walk-ins, which is great. Although be advised that you may sit for a while if you come in as a walk-in.

Emergency visit. Staff was phenomenal. As for the female doctor we encountered, less than professional. She made sure to let us know we interrupted her dinner before a simple hello or before she checked on our hurt pup. Very rude.

Dr. Dale has an amazing team. He performed a lung tumor removal surgery on our 9 year old boxer to amazing results. They really know their stuff. 2 other vets said she was untreatable.
