I don't even know where to begin... I'm so grateful to the staff here. Even though I had to put my lovely dog to sleep, they gave me all the time I needed and did not rush me and let me stay with my baby boy till the end. It is also affordable if you're looking for a new place to bring your family pet.

This is the best vet I have ever experienced. Three and a half years ago, my husband and I moved to Chicago with our two pups. While at a nail salon, I started chatting with a woman next to me, as she had an adorable tiny dog in her lap. I mentioned I was new in town and would of course need a vet, and she told me about RVAH. I wish I had that woman's name/address, because I would send her a top-notch thank you gift for that recommendation. Beyond their excellent routine service, we've had a few crises in which they've been nothing but gracious and incredibly helpful, in addition to always being quite affordable. When my little Pom Panda developed a tooth infection, the process was made simple, straightforward, and stress-free. When my bigger, older dog Zoey got into a bottle of of Aleve, I immediately called them and they recommended I take her to Premier, which also turned out to be a great choice. After a week at Premier, Zoey was released but we would have to give her subcutaneous fluids for a week. We could've done it ourselves, but I asked them how much it would be if I took her to a vet every day to get it done. The person quoted me between $25-35 a day. Even still, I called Roscoe -- of course they would do it for us, and for free! Amazing. And every day was a quick, flawless process and Zoey left happy and full of peanut butter! And finally, Zoey had to be put to sleep just before Christmas, on 12/17/18, at 16 years old. And RVAH has blown us away in gratitude every step of the way. The compassion, the warmth, and the support every single person on the team gave us genuinely felt like they make it an essential part of their jobs, as essential as taking an animal's temperature or answering the phone. The vet and techs gave us as much time as we needed with her, and she was able to go to sleep being hugged and cuddled and kissed on her favorite fuzzy blanket. Even when it was time to pick up her ashes, we were just on the way to begin our post-Christmas vacation, and they gladly held them until we could come back and pick them up at our convenience. I did so today, and the woman at the desk was actually the same one there on the day we brought her in. I thanked her and everyone profusely for how kind and supportive they all were during the emotional time. She actually remembered us, and said she herself got a little teared up. Her empathy really touched me. We are eternally grateful to this place, and will continue to bring our Pom and any future pets here for as long as we're in Chicago. Thank you guys, you're the best!

Updated review... Brought my dog in here to get neutered, when I came to pick him up and pay the bill they wanted me to pay $18.00 more for a cone protector... REALLY? After all the money I've given you for the procedure you can't fork over a cone protector? You have got to be kidding me. This place is a joke.. This is a fine place to take your pet. They have a very professional staff, and are obviously trained well. My biggest issue is the cost. It's exorbitant and out of hand. Not sure if they are more expensive than other vets, I just know they will tax your wallet big time for the most miniscule of procedures or even a simple routine checkup...

SUPERB animal care. Very knowledgeable and the staff is always Consistent and caring. I have really loved every Vet that I have ever met there. And my dog has the best girl who clips his nails there. They are moderately priced for the city. I hope they stay that way. I love that I can drop my car to get detailed across the street, walk over and take my dog to the vet and return for a clean car.

The entire staff is friendly, courteous, and very professional, and they all seem to possess a kind of intuitive bedside manner. These people are either crooks or animal sadists, and ether way you do NOT want to trust them with your pet. After about 10 visits, you'll realize they don't actually fix anything - they just notice new issues for which the solution is always a follow up appointment in 10 days. For example, my dog had a "pesky ear infection" from August thru December that Dr. Rover and his team "just cant quite beat yet." You know what fixed it? Penicillin, which took a full three days to completely heal after being prescribed by a differenet - and competent - vet. Dr. Rover also took two weeks to examine a burst cyst and determine that it "might be a burst cyst, but be sure to come back every week." No thanks. Your judgement day is coming Dr. Rover. Arf arf you piece of dog shite.

First of all, I want to start by saying I thought the vet that saw my pets on our visit was incredible. She did an amazing job. I have no complaints about the quality of care. The reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because of the price. I scheduled to have my dog neutered with them. The evening before, they sent me the cost estimate. It ranged the surgery cost between $501-$568 (the extra $67 was for microchipping). This cost doesn’t include his pre-surgical blood work which ran me another $135. To fix a 45 lb male dog. That is just excessive. They were also very understanding when I canceled my appointment very last minute. Very good people, but I certainly cannot afford them.

Everyone we've ever dealt with here has been professional and friendly. They really make a nice environment for you considering you may be there for a simple thing or something worse. Facilities are nice as well. I've been to a few animal hospitals and this is the nicest one.

I've loved all of our experiences at this hospital, but I would NEVER recommend Dr Lloyd. In past appointments, she has spoken down to us about the health of our dog. In this most recent appointment, she needed to get a shot to go to day care and her rabies shot was set to expire in October. Our dog has a history of negative allergic reactions to multiple shots given in one visit, so I requested that we hold off on this shot. She advised that my dog would be fine, and sure enough she wasn't. We had to visit the dog ER twice over the weekend due to her allergic reaction to the shots given by Dr Lloyd. I called Roscoe Village Animal Hospital to have the record of the shots sent over to the day car at 11:50am and asked the woman who answered if they received a note that our dog had to go to the ER as a result of the shots. She explained that they had and no one has contacted us from the office to follow up on how she is doing and apologize for her visit to the ER. This shows a lack of compassion for our animal and that she doesn't seem to care at all because one would expect that we receive a call the moment she walked in, but I was told she is "busy."

After trying many Vets around my area, I went to Roscoe Village Animal Hospital and, after several visits, they're the best Animal Hospital I've been to. The doctors and staff are so caring and knowledgeable and they provide the best care my dog has ever had (my dog has had many ailments and they finally made him feel better and he finally received a correct diagnosis and treatment). They're a bit more pricey than other hospitals, but it's worth it. I highly recommend them.

They never contacted me from there. Luckily my dog got the care he needed, but no thanks to Roscoe Village Animal Hospital.

RVAH always takes great care of my cats! I take my foster cats here as well as my own cats. One particularly sick foster cat Einstein, spent about a week here. They took great care of him and were always loving on him each time I brought him back. They always have toys and treats on hand and are never too pushy when it comes to expensive procedures. They truly care about the animals!

We made an emergency stop at Roscoe Village Animal Hospital knowing they weren't an ER, and that on Sunday we would most likely have to find another ER (we tried the ER next door - a long story for another time). Instead of being turned away, the staff STAYED LATE ON A SUNDAY with our dog to run a host of tests and an x-ray. The staff was compassionate, understanding, and took the time to walk us through every thing they were doing, why they were doing it, and what the costs associated were. I came in stressed, upset, and panicked from our experience at the ER and the staff could not have been more understanding or sympathetic. While Roscoe Village is not our primary vet, I would highly HIGHLY recommend them to anyone that needs one. Thank you so much to everyone there for what you did for my family. It won't soon be forgotten.

I had the opportunity to visit this office over the weekend when my 19 year old cat died and my usual vet's office was closed. From start to finish, the staff could not have been more empathetic and professional. They were able to quickly accommodate me on a Sunday morning. When I was ushered back to the private room, they had dimmed the lights, had a candle light, a bottle of water and tissues. I wish I would have had met the people of this fine practice before now. If you have a need for a quality, caring vet practice, I would highly recommend these folks. Top notch service and peanut butter! We take our dog here for wellness visits, in between visits when she eats things she's not supposed to, and most recently a tumor removal. The whole process was simple: drop off, updates throughout the procedure, and pickup. Dr. Gonzalez is our primary veterinarian who also performed the removal procedure. She is highly knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Our dog loves her and all the vet techs. They have an have endless supply of doggie talk, caresses, and peanut butter to keep our dog at ease during visits. I highly recommend. There is a parking lot across the street that is pay to park some days and limited street parking.

My experience started off on wrong foot. FIRST, there was the telephone a 2:01pm call from male staff member questioning me as to whether I still intended to keep my 2:10pm appointment. When I said that I'd previously called at 1:00pm to confirm the appointment he began to explain that if I was 15 minutes the appointment would have to be rescheduled. I found his tone disrespectful and condescending. SECOND: Upon arrival I was asked to complete their registration/demographic form - which I'd conpleted online the day prior to my appointment. THIRD: Staff offered - as a courtesy to contact prior my vet for my pet's records. Upon arrival not only did staff have no records to so- called courtesy call amounted to nothing no than a voice mail message which had not been returned by appointment time. Neccesitating a delay and yet a 2nd call by staff member. FOURTH: There's a $20 New Patient discount that was not applied to my bill as stated in paperwork previously detailed on online form. FINALLY: I have followup appt. Which I will NOT be keeping. This place is worst than Uptown Vet.

Our dog almost died due to RVAH misdiagnosis. We went to RVAH twice in the course of the week, an by the weekend had to bring dog to emergency clinic were she was operated on 3 hours later. The surgeon told us our dog symptoms and condition were veterinary101 and he was stunned she was misdiagnosed twice by 2 different RVAH vets. We were RVAH clients for 7 years but we are not going back after this tragic incident. If you are willing to pay expensive fees for basic routine checkups and risk your pet to be misdiagnosed in critical condition, RVAH is your hospital.

Really friendly staff, quick appointments for check ups/shots, and they are so nice to my dog who is always terrified to be there and can get aggressive about it. You can tell everyone there really loves animals.
