REVIEWS OF Midwest Animal Hospital IN Illinois

Marie Kanofsky

Dr Webb is outstanding. Dr. Coyne does very well at hiring vets that are compassionate and listen to concerns when many of us consider it pets family members.

Lisa Wilson

I love that you don't need an appointment, the staff and Vets are so friendly.

Mary Elarde-Yonker

I think they are a wonderful. I bring all my cats there and always have been very Happy with my pets healthcare.

Asta Bogusauskaite

I brought my cat in today. What a mistake! Dr Branasure was a complete a-hole, no compasion towards the animal or person. This place is terrible as far as I am concerned. Do not go!

Sonya Gyimah

Love this place ..AWESOME STAFF!!!!!!!

Ashley . Przybysz

I will always and forever bring my dog and two cats here. The place is clean. Staff are very helpful and insightful. They actually try to help instead of me forking over $$$$ to do pointless tests. There is also no appointments just walk in. I will always be ok with waiting knowing I will have excellent service.

My partner and I had the misfortune that our beloved Lola a golden/black lab mix was experiencing labored breathing and couldn't stand up. I did some research and found Midwest Animal Hospital over night and quickly determined we needed a place like this which does not take appointments. We arrived promptly at 8am when they opened. They had a young man help us bring Lola in from the car for evaluation. The staff was very warm, kind and concerned. The veterinarian was professional while being a concerned warm person as he gave us the bad news of cancer which had spread. We were given plenty of time to spend with Lola in her last minutes while the staff kept her as comfortable as possible. While we drove 27 miles to get here, it was well worth the trip.

Robert Reyes

Wonderful pet hospital. The staff is very courteous and the doctors are extremely helpful. We have been taking our little family members there for some time now.

Mike Seper

We take both our dogs to daycare here. They seem to like it. But their check in process and pick up process is long. Bring a lunch.

Rebecca Lee Jorgensen

Thank you for saving my daughters dogs life! She was attacked by a coyote last Sunday, in just a week you've done so much for her, she's recovering so well and so fast! Thank you to Everyone that works there, my daughter Faith has had her dog Scrappy since she was only 3 weeks and Faith was 4, she loves her more than I can say. She was heartbroken all night, until the police and animal control found her last Monday morning at 8:30. I am Thankful to everyone that has helped. It means the world to our whole Family!

Michele Sanders

Very nice staff. Last grooming appointment was not scheduled correctly and my dog really looked chopped up. Little attention was given by groomer. I didn't complain so I guess I can't say anything negative about the establishment but I will never use the same groomer again.

Paul tarver

Great atmosphere and people. Very helpful thorough and kind

Alicia Berg

I returned to this animal hospital after being with another veterinarian for a few years...SO GLAD I DID!! It's a bit of a drive, but I love that you don't need an appointment for regular checkups or a illness that needs immediate attention. The staff and doctors are EXCELLENT!!!!

Johnny Johnson

Love he Dr. ‘s & the Vets! They keep my puppy right when she is off.

Lori Hausherr

Compassionate care for all my furry friends. We are dealing with a very sick dog and the staff at the hospital cannot be any more understanding of what the family is going through.

Vash

We bring our Bernese Mountain dog in for grooming. Sasha is a very timid LARGE dog that does not do well with strangers. Kaytlin (sp?) is the ONLY groomer that Sasha will allow to touch her. Up until Kaytlin we would need to have her sedated so the groomer can work. Kaytlin on the other hand has NO issues and does a great job with our girl!... Def. recommend her to any other large breed dogs.

Bret Yates

I had to put my kitty down and they were the most understanding vet I have ever been to. They let me spend time with her and even had a back door I could go out so people wouldn't see I was crying. The vet even dropped all the xray costs and only charged for the euthanasia. I will only ever go here for my pets. Thank you!!

Lorraine Kos

They will pick up and deliver your pet. All of the staff are compassionate and professional. I was so impressed with them I made a donation.

Carolyn Cain

So nice to have such care 7days a week without appointments

Colleen Longtin

I generally always get good service from Midwest. I used to live closer to the office but moved 90 miles south 4 years ago. I still make the drive to take my dog there and I also have pet insurance through Midwest. It recently went up in price & I wasn't notified of it, so I want happy about that!

Patrick Markham

Great doctors..great techs..they get to know you and your pet

Bill Hirdler

Day care is great. Walk in availability usually has short or no wait times!

Ashley O'Brien

Updated review: staff has had great improvements and also they seem happy to be there, great to see for the clinic. All about money here, will push for your animal to go on medication, surgery, rehab, etc. anything to bring them in more money. Also the staff is pretty rude to say the least. You'd expect an extremely over priced animal clinic to at least push for positive customer service. Also they are constantly getting things mixed up between my two dogs: same breed, different age, & ones a boy ones a girl.

donna gabrys

Great place. But extremely high!!

I brought my dog in Monday for a check-up and shots; he was in perfect health and Dr. Sara Schultz seemed very kind and knowledgeable. I decided to put him in boarding that same week Thursday-Sunday. When I arrived I requested a tour and the clerk looked at me as if I was being unreasonable, but I wasn't leaving my fur baby just anywhere! I'm glad I didn't get the Suite package because it was hardly any difference than the standard; the Suite TVs were on a distorted color bar/static channel not Animal Planet. When I picked up my pet they said everything went fine; however, as soon as I arrived home he had diarrhea. Within the first 30 minutes he went 5 times before ever going in the house; that same night he had a constant cough (Kennel cough). When I called to discuss this with them they said there are no notes of any of that happening, but I should bring him in to be treated for the cough; more money! I spent 150 Monday and 69 for boarding and who knows how much this next visit will cost. I don't like that he got sick in the same facility that makes him better might be a money scam. *The 2 stars are for the boarding experience and customer service NOT Dr. Sara Schultz

Was not very happy with my experience this time my dog has brought in cusses back legs were paralyzed and they didn't X rain showed nothing instead of doing the blood test immediately they started doing cold laser therapy and I'm giving in medicines decided to keep him overnight later that evening I suggested a blood test with showed his kill scene was off which being pure lies is a Is a symptom of calcium being off or cancer someone stead of doing that right away in saving my poor dog the pain of spending the night there they did all sorts of things they wanted to acupuncture finally the doctor the next morning suggested that he would never get better they should never put him through all that pain in meeting and a fixed income to spend almost a $1000 I am extremely upset with them this time

This is the only Animal Hospital we use. My wife breeds and raises Savannah kittens. Therefore, we are unable to use your "everyday, run of the mill" veterinarian. And this facility offers what we need, knowledge and experience with Savannah and Serval cats. They also offer services at a discount, due to being breeders. Not to many facilities offer this benefit. It's a "no appointment" service. Though when we've walked in with 4 kittens for a full work up, we may have waited 20 minutes at the longest. And that's on a busy day, with a full waiting room. If you want your furbabaies to have the best service in this area. We highly recommend Midwest Animal Hospital!! They care for your pet, just as much or possibly more than you do!!!

Daniel Salmon

Overall was a good experience. We were told we could bring some of our dog's things for the overnight and that turned out not to be true. The surgery went fine and we are happy.

Julia Florek

I normally do not post reviews but because this is regarding my pet, I hope that I can help other pet owners before they bring their pet here. I took my puppy to her very first vet check up, the front desk staff was very pleasant, it was the Doctor that I did not care for. He walked into the room and didn't even acknowledge my puppy. He didn't pet her or say anything to her. He gave me her heart worm pill along with the flea pill, and had to pull out his phone and google the medication to let me know how to give them to her and what they exactly were .I found that to be very unprofessional and disturbing that he didn't know the medication he was prescribing to my puppy. Then the Vet had to give my puppy two shots, she stood completely still for the Vet and he still had a hard time giving her the shots. He poked at her several times and kept making her cry. They also did a fecal test which they said came back negative, I had her retested at her new Vet to find out that she did indeed have a bad case of a parasite. If I did not take my puppy to a new Vet she would have continued to have gotten worse. I was hoping my puppy's first vet visit would be pleasant but it was the complete opposite. I now take my puppy to a Vet that comes in the room and hugs and kisses my puppy. My puppy absolutely loves him and isn't terrified while being examined. More importantly this Vet doesn't have to google medication because he knows exactly what he is doing. If you want the best possible care for your pet, I highly encourage you that this is not the place.

Shannon O

What an incredible team you have there. I brought my mom's dog in for emergency surgery today and every single person from the woman on the phone on my way in to our doctor (Dr. Eldrenkamp) was very caring, professional and competent. Thank you for such excellent care of our pup!

Elizabeth Z.

Good customer service. Everyone from the front desk to the doctors are nice to pet owners and pets. The doctors take the time to answer questions without making you feel that need to hurry. They also have packages that include all vaccines and visits.

Moe Hilal

Even less than a star with their employees attitude, especially Stephanie a front desk employee. The doctors they don’t take the time to check your animal, they just want to take the money and take the next pet. I was charged $70 for a “consultation” which consisted of the the doctor ripping dry stool off my cats anus (which included heart wrenching screens from my cat when they took him in the back to do this. The $70 also did not include the doctor even checking a temp or listening to his heart or lungs. I’ll never be back again to these blood suckers .

DR TEC IT CONSULTING

I was happy with Midwest Animal Hospital years ago.... The treatment my dog has received from them this last couple of weeks has been very disappointing. My adult son took our dog for a check up after surgery, they said they had look at the results and sold a new medication. The person at the desk then asked my son if they gave him our dog yet, he said yes, then asked for the medication he just paid over $100 for. The following day I get a call and they say they just look at the results and our dog needs a different mediation. So my question is simple, if they had the results on Friday and gave new medication, why are they calling on Saturday stating they just reviewed the results and want to sell us a different medication? or, which time was a lie, when you said you had the results on Friday and our dog needed a different mediation, or when you called Saturday and said you have the results and our dog needs a different medication?

audrey malloy

I have been going only 5 months. But this group is special. From Dr to the front desk. Tops in my book. Will continue to go. P s. I live in the city. Thanks to entire staff.

When I first started coming here, 20 + years ago, it was great. I loved the idea of no appointment necessary and Dr Coyne was great. Unfortunately the facility has grown too large and impersonal. The wait time is always at least an hour and then another 10-15 minutes to check out. As for the care, I really haven't had a problem but don't like the idea of seeing a new doctor everytime I come in. I have 3 animals and the wait time has just become prohibitive.

virgie de asis

Awesome experience, Doctor explained everything..

Angela Alexander

GREAT animal care and service!

Neocean Long

I've had the best experiences at Midwest. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The veterinarians always listen, answer questions and offer recommendations. Very pleased to bring all three of my little guys there, Jaime, Jasper & Jayla. I've used the grooming services as well and that too was fantastic and my babies smelt so good!! Also the wait, to me, isn't bad, depending on how busy it is when you get there. They are fast and efficient, they definitely seem to have a great process in place there.

Darren Meyers

Great service. Affordable. BUT, long waits.

Darnella Carter

My first experience was during a traumatic incident between my two dogs. The staff was professional, courteous and the wait time was short. Although it is a long drive I would not take my dogs anywhere else. This is our forever hospital!

Torrie Boyland

My dog was very sick and needed surgery right away. They took him in immediately and took care of him. Prior to going to them I went to another facility that asked for 5000 for the procedure he needed Midwest did it for half the amount. It also has a clean and inviting facility along with a friendly staff.

Laurie Wenzel

Apparently their hours of operation are a guideline not actual business hours

R CK

The staff and doctors are wonderful. But seriously - can I get a runner?!?!? Boarding and day care takes forever. The check in and waiting for someone to take your pet back will drive you batty. If they can fix that they would be 5 stars.

R. A. Van Drunen

After an hour drive to get to the hospital I waited for 10 minutes alone in line with my very nervous dog. Plenty of staff at counter but all busy with their computer screens. My dog was their to get her "free" dental cleaning (anethesia and xrays etc. not included. Only cleaning). Waited for over an hour to get "checked in" for surgery which takes another 20-30 of health questions already on the dogs chart. Was told at midway mark it would be a "few" minutes longer, which turned in to over a half hour. I finally asked to speak with the manager who was very polite and kind, getting the process to move along. Denise, the manager, does her job well but it should not have taken this long. Nervous dog, other loud nervous dogs and pet parents should NOT have to wait the amount of time I did today. There were problems with Midwest last time when I was here and spoke to 2 managers then, opting to remove my then post. This time I am posting to allow others to be aware that you need to block the whole day open when going to Midwest. Now I need to return before they close at 8 tonight to pick up my sweet dog. Was never told it was a day long procedure/recovery process. Also, be aware there is a veterinarian here that went and closed up his business in a local small town one day with no notice leaving people in a pinch. Thankful to be relocating and needing to find a new veterinarian. Seems that now that this office has grown in size the quality if care and attention has gone way down. After years of going here with my dogs it is time to move on.

Marcin Dyszewski

It's a walk in clinic and usually a doc sees you within 15 min. Prices are great and depending on what it is you might not even pay for a visit. Most doctors are really nice and caring and always explain things very well. Like all places they want to "fix" your pet and shoot them up with lots of needless shots but they don't push anything so it's all good.

Genny Kowalski

A little higher priced vet, but I think it's worth it. Love the fact that there is always a vet available. Our furbabies are worth it.

Doug Monnier

They take great care of their patients and do good work but they are not cheap be prepared for sticker shock

Brian Conlin

I am overall pleased with the service my dog receives from Midwest Animal Hospital (MAH). My wife and I are new dog owners and part of the reason we decided to get a dog was based on no small part of the recommendation that we received from friends to MAH and how their services, hours, and pricing fit into our busy lives. I do have one recommendation. Sometimes the check in process can be quite long and stressful especially with a young puppy full of energy. I think if you could somehow take advantage of the available technology it would greatly improve the check in process. It appears that there is too many things still being kept tracked on paper and if a dog comes on a repeated basis (daily) the dog's profile should be up to date on the computer, eliminating the need to record the same information everyday. Likewise, I would encourage a pre-check in process whereas the owner can go online prior to dropping off the dog so upon arrival all that would be left to do is handing over the dog. I would also try to have more staff (runners) to bring the dogs back and forth during high volume times. If we can implement the suggested technology this should make more staff available to escorting the dogs back and forth.

Deanna Johnson

Staff are very friendly and helpful. They understand your worries about your pet.

Allison Curnock

My dog needed emergency attention and this placed delivered that. I could not be more pleased with the service we received. The vet was kind, courteous, and answered all my questions. She was calm, cool, and collected when I was in crisis mode and it made all the difference. Thank you for taking care of both me and my dog Shaw!

Eric V

When I walked in there was only one person waiting. It took 30 minutes to be brought into the room and waited another 20 mins before someone came in. Ridiculous. If they have all this money to build new buildings, how about some more doctors?

Miz MariMac

My puppy's haircut was awesome!

Jennifer Stutts

Initially I thought this place was awesome but when I had to call back to clear up a misunderstanding, I have to change my mind. The young lady who helped me was rude when she was forced to give me a refund for my pet's medication. There was a misunderstanding and instead of being apologetic she was very rude, very short and seemed bothered because of an error that wasn't my fault. The funny thing about it is they were getting payment for the med from the location I adopted him from so they weren't even losing any money. Rude, rude rude! Asking for my info with an attitude, telling me "whoever the adoption place called I'm sure it wasn't us", trying to talk over me and rushing me off the phone before I was even able to give her the details or offer any help with the situation, ending the call with mmhhmm and hanging up, rude, rude, rude! All she had to do was call the place, clear it up and refund me. All that extra attitude was uncalled for. I'm sure big places like this don't care about losing patients so I will look into taking him to another vet for his next appointment before I drive another 45 minutes out my way to bring him back here! The doctor was awesome, funny, friendly, the young lady who helped me the day I took him was sweet and even the people who checked us in and out were nice but whoever that was that processed the refund could use a attitude check!

Joe Mathieu

The staff here is wonderful with pets, and the prices are very reasonable in comparison to other animal vet services. The one complaint I have is that they don't take appointments for doctor visits—which is quite absurd. Pets don't behave the best when they're forced to wait around at the vet, so having to walk-in and just wait isn't good for our furry friends (or their parents, who are driven to the brink of insanity).

Chuck

We had to medically board both of our cats when they got a bacteria contagious to humans. When we picked up both cats they were sick with something completely different that they acquired while being boarded. They didn't tell us anything about it and acted like they didn't know about their upper respiratory infections. I had to call back the next day and they gave us antibiotics for both cats. How could they be under your care and you have no idea what is going on with them. What level of attention were you giving our pets while they were boarded. It makes me wonder if they even received the treatment for Campylobacterosis. We are going to have our vet run the fecal test again to make sure it is gone because Midwest said they just assume its gone after treatment. Before I finish out my review, I should also mention that because they don't take appointments you end up waiting at least 2 hours to see a Vet. You are better off making an appointment with a real vet location that will give you better treatment. This place is very busy and they don't pay close attention to detail.

Stephen Lipa

We've been using them for years. Great staff and good with our dogs.

chely gonzalez

They're are always so organized and polite here. You can tell they take care of the facility by keeping it clean. They even offer bottled water in a cooler and a Kuerig for tea or coffee as courtesy. They always treat my kitties like their own. Dr. Goodrich and Dr. DeYpung are extremely caring. They really handle your pets with care.

Rodney Espinosa

We take both our Dogs here, they give Great care to our dogs Max, Charlie

Nancy Shugan

There are many doctors here so you'd have to ask to see a particular one. That doesn't bother me so I get the next available vet and it goes smoothly. They don't take appointments so you may have a bit of a wait on a busy day. That doesn't bother me as it's nice to sit and do nothing but play with your dog for a guilt-free break on a busy day. Their prices seem comparable to other vets in the area. They also do boarding, which I find extremely convenient. The dogs' records are there, so I never have to dig out rabies vaccination or other shot info. The entire staff are wonderful with the dogs and truly love animals. I think it's so cool that they have a doggy swimming pool for dogs who can't support their weight but need exercise.

Linda Nemecek

Very good grooming and vet care.

TheAmazingM0dder

We took our Chihuahua for his 6 month shot and to look at his dew claws because one was bothering him (Not Broken). They took him to the back to give him his shot and nails trimmed. After warning them multiple times the left dew claw was bothering him they broke both dew claws off. We then saw the doctor who was so scared to even touch him because he was acting scared. Not one time did he growl or show his teeth. She eventually took him to the back because "he was going to bite her." After 10-15 minutes he came back with a technician and was acting very timid, the doctor came in gave us ear drops for him and said we were good to go. We head up to pay and they charged us $163 for the entire visit. $60 for a consultation and another $33 to look at bacteria under a microscope and $19 for them to break my dogs dew claws off. Wouldn't recommend to anyone, the doctors are extremely inconsistent and have an extreme lack of care for your animals.

Dave Miller

Klinger loves it there he has lots of fun with his friends. The staff is really nice to us❤

Sharon Paver-Nepote

Working with the intelligent and thoughtful staff of Midwest Animal Hospital has been a wonderful experience for my family for the past seven years. Our pets are always provided with a genuine, friendly welcome by the staff. The facility is beautiful and the environment is warm, caring, and loving. The Midwest veterinarian staff has provided us with everything to support our new puppy, our aging dog, and also through the difficult passing of one of our dear pets. This support was provided from a very knowledgeable staff and with the highest level of respect. I highly recommend Midwest Animal Hospital if you are looking for an incredible veterinarian team!

There amazing people seem to enjoy the job

This is more of a recent experience rating. We brought our cockapoo there on Thanksgiving with some issues (vomiting, diarrhea, not eating). Blood work showed liver problems. They rec keeping her there three days (very expensive, but hey). I was informed her liver levels ok and sent us home with prescription food (for kidney function-??). She continued to have issues - we called and told maybe food allergy so we switched foods a couple times. Problem continued - brought her in again and again rec was to keep her overnight. I pick her up levels ok. bring her home - problems continue. Call again - she might have failed live or cancer. Reluctantly, we decide to put her down as she is older and miserable. I bring her in and inform the staff that we wanted a paw print to remember her by. A week later, informed they didn't do it. Oh, well thanks Midwest Animal Hospital for....I guess removing $3,000 from my bank account over the past three months. Never saw the same vet in four trips and it seemed that they just didn't have a clue what was wrong with her. I dunno just not impressed and if I get another dog I know we won't go here.

Tim Brooks

Outrageous pricing you can go so many other places half the price with the same service but better. Every time you go to Midwest animal hospital look forward waiting for 2 hours before they take you.

Alex Perea

My puppy had a running nose, therefor they kept us outside the facility for at least 30 minutes which is understandable but why don't they have a "quarrentine room" for situations like this? Not cool

Amanda Rose

Impersonal, no appointments with any particular vet so it's luck of the draw on who you get and how long you might have to wait. Dr. Sawa was very nice, but checkup was less than five minutes, likely due to the volume of pets still waiting to be seen.

Tracy Holbrook

We are new to Midwest. Everyone that we have been in contact, from the front desk to the assistants in the exam room to the Veterinarians and the groomers. All have been wonderful and I have been happy with the care my Bobby has been receiving from this office. I appreciate all they do and their wonderful care and communication.

Dave Jar

The facility is great, 5 stars. It's like a very high quality human doctors office, with the added benefit of seeing DOGGIES. They have a Keurig and bottled water. The front desk staff are very courteous. I knocked off a star because the wait was ridiculous and updates were what I felt was a bit longer than should be expected. My dog had stitches, which were done a bit messy. Don't take this as a bad review, it's not. They were very busy that day, so it might have been they were swamped with work. Only took off 1 star for that. Plus, the procedure my dog had was a little bit cheaper than another area vet hospital.

Kelly OToole

I dropped off my dog to get spayed at 8 AM this morning and no one called me to pick her up after I waited ALL afternoon and evening for a call, so I went back at 8 PM (when they close) and they told me they never spayed her!!! She sat there for 12 HOURS!!! They said they were too busy with other surgeries. They didn’t even have the decency to call me to tell me she wasn’t getting spayed today so I should pick her up. This is not how you run a business especially one where you take care of living beings!! No one can answer me as to why I wasn’t called either. I will never bring an animal back here!!

Kim McAuliffe

They always take great care of my fur babies

Moon Petal

Love this place. The staff is friendly and helpful. Although, there is 1 person that works behind registration that is rude.

Tammy Goodrich

Staff was so nice and the doctor was awesome with our not so friendly aggravated cat.

BRITTNEY PILATE

I brought my baby girl in today because she had a skin issue. The wait wasn’t very long. The front staff was amazing and very informative. The vet Coyne was super quick and barely looked at her stomach before he said what was wrong with her. I am a first time client there so I was not expecting such a quick exam for a fee of $50.00. If this was a recheck I would definitely understand quickness. I didn’t leave there with a sense of satisfaction. I’m very disappointed. The computers and phone were down when I left.

Alaine Kvedaras

This place is hit or miss. Fine for checkups & vaccines, but problematic for anything out of the ordinary. Wait times are long, and most of the vets are inexperienced. Brought one pet in who was misdiagnosed the first time until Dr. Pawlowski changed that after the second visit ( and paid for 2 visits & rounds of medication]) and now it appears it's happening again with a different dog. Vets don't get messages in a timely manner to return calls.

Bill D

Great staff, up to date and timely, CLEAN! Pet friendly surroundings and ample parking.

Sandra Oehman

I am the owner of 3 dogs. I took one of my dogs there for shots and the vet came in the room and gave her the shots. I recently took my two other dogs for there and what I didn't like was that they took my dogs in the back and gave them their shots (which was different from the first time). Curious, did they really give them the shots?

Washbucket

This Animal Hospital is clean, updated, and has friendly and knowledgeable staff. They work on a walk-in basis and are also open on Sundays. The hospital is able to perform some in-house lab work. They also sell special food and can order food too. There are handicap spots up front. The Animal Hospital also offers complimentary coffee and bottles of water. I recommend this Animal Hospital.

We have been with Midwest for quite a while. Generally we think they do very well but sometimes the wait can be quite long. Calling and using voicemail to refill prescriptions works well. The reason for my review is our experience with Midwest when we had to put our dog down. It was something we saw coming for quite some time as our golden retriever was 14 years old and well past her life expectancy by several years. But even though we knew it was time it was a very difficult thing to do. I should have called Midwest a week ahead of time but we waited as long as we thought we could and didn’t want to be selfish keeping her and allowing her to suffer. So I called Midwest since we made the decision to do it and could hardly talk since it was a very difficult thing for me. Well I asked what the procedure was and she told me to call when I was 15 minutes away and then they would prepare a room for me. After about an hour when we were ready to go I called Midwest and told them I was on my way. They asked me how far away I was and I said 10 minutes. I gave them the information with family name and pets name and they told me to call back when I was in the parking lot. When I arrived at Midwest I gave them a call from the parking lot and they gave me a room number and told me someone would meet me at the door to escort me to the room. I picked up and carried our dog in as my wife opened the door and someone directed us to a room where I put my dog Nikki on the table. Next we talked about the cremation and different options which would have been better if I had talked about that a week earlier but that’s on me. After we went over everything she told me the total and I was puzzled and she said I can ring it up now so afterwards you don’t have to wait in lobby to pay. So that was great because after you put down your dog which is a family member and your all teary eyed the last thing you would want to do is wait in the waiting room with 5-10 other people who are with their pets. So she collected and processed payment and came back in and gave us a receipt. Next a vet tech came in and prepared a catheter/IV for the Dr. When she was finished she said we could spend some time with Nikki and when we were ready we could knock on the door and the Dr. would come in. So after we all said our goodbye’s the Dr. came into the room and explained the procedure and what we could expect. Nikki passed rather quickly and peacefully with no discomfort. Afterwards the Dr. told us we could stay in the room as long as we liked. After a short time alone with Nikki we left and were able to walk straight out since payment had already been made. If I had to wait in the reception area 30-60 minutes like we do for most appointments it would have been terrible. I’m glad I called and asked about the procedure because I don’t think it could have been handled in a better way. Midwest followed up with a sympathy card and a single rose expressing their sympathy two days after our visit. The rose is beautiful but we are still teary eyed thinking about Nikki. Moved quite a distance away - but am willing to make the drive to take my pet there for medical care as well as grooming. Staff is friendly, caring, professional and helpful - I couldn't want for better treatment

The Veterinarian showed such gentleness and great care to our recent furry family addition. We adopted a cat last week, who had a couple of issues that weren't disclosed to us at the time of adoption. But everyone at Midwest welcomed us and seemed to care about our pet as much as we do. They went above and beyond and we truly appreciated the attentive service. And the place actually smells nice upon entering the building!

I recently had to bring my Yorkie in because he ate corn on the cob only the corn was already gone so he basically ate three-quarters of a cob . They were awesome from the moment I checked in to when my dog was seen they were great every step of the way they let me know what was going on ultimately my dog had to have surgery and is doing fine they go above and beyond. I appreciate that they did a follow-up call this morning they have an awesome staff of people there without a doubt great veterinarians

I had to use this clinic to spay the cat I adopted from cache creek for it to be free The “free” service was $128 What a racket these two places have Total B.S. Their responds is not correct : I was charged for : Onsior, Bordetella and BioWaste Fee ALL I was told was not optional ….Either someone was dishonest then or you're being dishonest now. According to the AAFP Bordetella is not mandatory in this case file:///C:/Users/Jackie&Don/Downloads/BordetellaBronchiseptica_FactSheet.pdf

I like this place for boarding our cat. It is always very easy to bring him and to pick him up, even if you do not plan boarding days ahead. Personal is always very nice and the cat in a perfect shape and mood afterwards.

Love the hospital, grooming not so much. My baby seemed traumatized.

Please read. Took our seven year old dog here because she was limping a little bit when she walked, and was slow to get up from laying down. Obviously her back legs were bothering her BUT she was still able to walk and get up with out help. We got there, as we have been here a few times before for little things such as shots and flea medicine in the past, and we got the same old service of doctor coyne not introducing himself. I only know his name because I read his name tag. He did not bother to check vitals or do anything beside watch her get up front he floor, and said that she’ll probably need surgery and he needs to take an X Ray. I wanted to know why, he said it could be a ligament. Well I know you can not see ligaments on X-rays so I thought that was weird to begin with, but let him do his job to rule out other things. After the x Ray they bring the dog back and then they take her away again a few minutes later because they said the x Ray looked fine but now they need to do the “drawer” test to see if it’s her ACL and the doctor says that came back positive, prints out a sheet for an estimate of survey that will cost 2500+ to fix her. Walking out our poor dog was in way worse condition, and once we got her home she wouldn’t even walk anymore and would literally go on her two front paws like a hand stand to get off her back legs! Which she was not in that bad ofcondition before we brought her in! They took advantage of our dog and us and made her condition worse thinking we, who hardly can afford the vet visit of 280 for the unnessecary x Ray, can’t pay to get our dogs newly ruptured ACL fixed! This place is a scam. Honest to god people I beg of you for your animals sake to not bring your animals here if they have anything that needs a real veterinarians attention for! I regret so much having brought our dog here, if I could I would take it all back! Our poor girl, please don’t let this kind of thing happen to you and anyone you know. It’s worth it to just make an appointment else where!

Katie Arvia

I unfortunately had to put my gerbil to sleep and brought her here. Everyone working was very compassionate and understanding of my situation. I was taken to an exam room immediately; we didn't have to wait long at all for the doctor either. She very kindly explained the procedure to me and made sure I had had enough time to say goodbye. In addition, the first vet I went to wanted to charge me $110 for the euthanasia but Midwest Animal Hospital only charged me $25. It was an excellent experience especially considering the circumstances.

mel reynoso

I took my dog my dog who was dying. I told them to put her to sleep.I ask an aid if I can say goodbye be with dog till the end or say goodbye.Aid says I need the Vet's permission

Jim Harter

I brought my pet in today. It was the first time. I will bring her for all services. The staff, Kaitlyn, Shirley and the lady who checked me in were superb. Thank you. I highly recommend this hospital.

Joanna D

Midwest animal hospital has always been my go to place to bring my dog. The employees have always treated me with respect. Also, my dog had an eye problem and the vet assured me she looked normal but likely had an eye infection. After some blood work, she did indeed have normal results and was treated for an eye infection with eyedrops. A few days later, my dog is acting normal and is no longer squinting. Thank you! For anyone who is wondering, a visit like that cost me $230, because of labs, vet evaluation, and medicine.

Jennifer Malfas

I’ve been coming here since they opened and used to love the place - but since they expanded I’ve waited an hour plus to see a doctor every time I come in. I HATE the “no appointment” policy!!!!!! Doctors are now impersonal because they are seeing too many patients. They obviously COULD NOT HANDLE becoming a bigger hospital. The boarding facilities are fabulous but the hospital facility is THE WORST!! People don’t have an hour + to wait to see a vet!! AMENDMENT: I wanted to add that after writing and posting this review while still waiting to be seen by a doctor, the office manager saw it and came to personally speak with me about my review. She mentioned that they are addressing my concerns regarding the wait time (my total time at the hospital today was 2-hours!). I have to say that it was this personal attention which has kept me going to MIdwest for as long as I have been. (That, and it is an extremely professional and a very clean veterinary hospital!). She was very professional and personable and truly concerned about my grievances. We spoke for some time about how they could make my wait time shorter and the overall experience better. Therefore I’m changing my rating to 3 stars with the hope that some changes will be made and the wait times will be reduced!! We shall see...

Juan Murillo

Not the best at customer service, and could definitely do more to keep the place neat and better smelling. We have taken our family pets here for a while and we never ever get to see the same vet more than once—twice if we are lucky. PETA are family, imagine if you’d have to see a new doctor every time you went in for a check up. Also, a bit pricey if you’re not paying up their monthly plans which can range anywhere from $30-50 , for what I consider very basic medicine. This never covers prescriptions, surgeries, x-rays and other costly medical treatment.

Jodie Baudo

Great animal hospital until you over hear staff From there getting drunk at the Local bar “ Whistle” talking about the staff and how the animals are. Sorry Midwest but I won’t be back with my very loved dog!

Randy Collette

Not only did we get our puppy from Midwest, but we bring her back here for all her vet and grooming needs. The entire staff is great and will take as much time as you need to explain things to you so you can make the best choices for your best friend. Our puppy loves coming here and we do too.

sonia diaz

They are very helpful and always willing to answer questions about the health of your pet.

maggie maestre

Awful place! Took my dog in for yearly lyme and bordetella vaccines and they gave my dog dewormer instead. Dr. Neuberg had to come to my house the next day to correct their mistake. DO NOT go to Midwest Animal Hospital as they are inept!

Kelli Offord

Prices are comparable to other vet offices, no appointments, but enough doctors for quick service and lots of techs to help move things along. We love Dr Schultz, very caring and gives the available options for each situation, will not push or force into any service.

Nicole LaPrairie

The boarding and veterinary staff are amazing! They take care of my mischievous dog. They have stayed late to check him out after they were closed. He is a high needs dog and this is the only place I will take him. The boarding staff goes above and beyond as do the vets. I highly recommend. Rusty has anxiety very badly. They are soo good with him.

Tyler Ftag

It was our first appointment for Max, and it went perfectly! The front desk staff was kind (and quick) along with our doctor. A painless visit, and Max responded well! Def recommend!

mike piekarz

This place is a joke. There is no appointments it is first come. Waited over an hour and was till going to be an hour wait. Update Was contacted by the office manager who was genuinely concerned about my visit and wait time. Truly impressed by the customer service. Have changed my rating to 5 stars. Thank you Denise for handling the situation.

Christina Grote

I only go here because it has such great hours. They definitely over charge and they will take advantage of those that are not aware of what is really necessary. I do like that they price match online pharmacies. Make sure you show them what the meds are available for online. My dogs meds are half of what they tried to charge me initially.

Elaine Patterson

What a big place! Busy, and they just do walk in so you can go at your convenience! They have friendly staff, and fair prices. Also, they have a doggie pool daycare and boarding!

Jason Deno

I wanted to take a moment to share how awesome everyone at MAH was. My dog had a recurring illness. When we brought him in on a Sunday afternoon, we found out that it was being caused by cancer. As hard as it was, we opted not to fight it and came back in the next morning to say goodbye. This was an exceptionally hard decision. The doctor gave us lots of information and options without too much false hope. We really didn’t want to put him thru hell for only a few more months and a compromised quality of life. So many of the staff came in and shared their own stories. Some had done surgery. Some had not. It really helped. We were able to lay with him during his last moments. They brought in a fresh warm blanket for him. One of the staff even watched our kids in the lobby during the last steps! It was very peaceful and loving. They were so supportive and caring to us and Boomer! They even sent us a hand signed sympathy card a week later. The company they use for cremation was also very kind, quick and professional. I had very bad memories of a losing another pet like this. But this time was so much different. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to say goodbye to my best friend. Thank you all for what you do. You’re a fantastic group and we appreciate your support so much.

I have been to Midwest Animal hospital multiple times over the past few months for my dog’s surgeries/care and am normally happy with my dog’s care, the pricing, the doctors and staff. Unfortunately today I had a very bad experience I went in to pick up an old prescription but there was a misunderstanding and the employee thought it was a refill with an unpaid previous balance. When she broke down the charges to me I let her know I didn’t pick up the original medication. She got really upset snatched the paper off of the counter, rolled her eyes, and huffed as she walked away and asked someone else to handle it. I said there was no need to be rude and that I didn’t understand what the problem was.The woman who finished handling the situation was Dominique one of the office managers and she said from their screen it’s hard to understand and looks like I was getting a refill and hadn’t paid the first medication and they had to take my word for it.I wish they had put better notes because I definitely don’t like looking like I’m trying to be dishonest or scam. Quite frankly I’m really disappointed and saddened with the experience I had today. Anywhere you go customer service is important and one bad experience can really leave you disheartened and make you weary of returning.

I bought my dog here on August 23rd 2018 to conclude the last series of his vaccinations. Afterwards, the nurse bought him back out to the waiting room and she aggressively approached me saying that collar was on too tight around his neck. Moreover, I didn't like her tone of voice as well as how she was talking me.And how she was insinuating that I dont know how to take of "MY Dog." Afterwards, I went to pay my bill, I asked the the person behind the desk "Do I have to bring my dog in next month for any other shots?" And she replied I'm not going to tell you anything until you pay the bill." So, I pulled out my cash and she still had attitude. From this experience, my dog and I will never come back there for service.

If you like impersonal veterinary care, this is the place for you We brought in our rescued puppy to be spayed and to have an umbilical hernia repaired. This is the animal hospital that the rescue uses and the surgery was covered in our adoption fee. If I had a choice, I would have had our regular veterinarian take care of this for our puppy. My first complaint about Midwest Animal Clinic is they do not take appointments. Not for a regular visit and not for surgeries. It’s ridiculous. Whenever you arrive, they take you in the order you come in. The reception area is basically an assembly line type of set up with a counter that has several computers set up for check in, and, as I found, check out, too. The reception area ladies are very polite. We were greeted promptly and then our information was taken. After check in, we sat in the waiting room until a Vet tech called us into an exam room. She ran through the reasons we were there and gave us an estimate of our costs. In addition to the surgery, our puppy was getting a rabies vaccine and a fecal test, and a mandatory flu vaccine. We also purchased an e-collar (cone) for her to wear post-operation. Those costs were fairly reasonable, but about 20% higher than our usual vet office. For the convenience, we decided to add on the collar and fecal test; we also decided to have basic pre-op blood work done to have a base line of our puppy’s bloodwork. After this, the rest of the up-sell began - so many additional services - more bloodwork, fluids during surgery, heart test, nail trim, etc. We declined those. It was a hard pressure kind of sales pitch for these extra add-ons. My second complaint: prior to surgery we specifically asked which type of stitches are appropriate for active dog and which type is better. We were assured traditional and dissolvable are equal - the actual paper work that was printed and given to us after we agreed to dissolvable stated that dissolving stitches are not recommended for an active dog. There was an additional $11 fee for dissolvable stitches. Our puppy is a rat terrier mix, about 6 months old, very active. Pickup was very impersonal. The reception lady had a difficult time answering some basic questions, such as, did our puppy have one incision or two. The check out was done at the reception counter, which is quite a noisy and busy area. The fees were reviewed. The pain medication distributed. Our puppy wasn’t brought out into a private room to discuss her post-op needs. Our puppy wasn’t even brought out until the payment and post-operative instructions were reviewed at the counter. I asked about the results for the fecal exam and was told they would only call if it was negative. I told her that was not acceptable so she put in a note to call me not matter the outcome. During this entire process, we never once met the veterinarian who operated on our puppy. I have no idea who did the surgery. Maybe some folks like to be able to walk into an animal clinic without an appointment. I’m not one of them for regular appointments nor for surgical procedures. It’s impersonal and makes it difficult to plan the day when one works. It feels very much like being pushed through the line, particularly when you never meet the veterinarian who is earning income from the fees you paid.

LaTonia Peterson

I’m a new client and my concern is the appearance of an overwhelmed staff. Also how in your reviews one person is consistently mentioned as affecting your brand and no action is taken! I too had a bad experience with this person. I have purchased a wellness package and I am going to continue until the contract expires my hope is that your organization gets better. Thanks for listening! My concerns were addressed and on a return visit we had a wonderful experience. As a result I am modifying my rating.

I like this place but I wish they had more staff. We've been going here for years for not only veterinary care but for boarding and grooming as well. Since then they've expanded and also separated they're boarding/and veterinary areas and expanded their parking lot. Which is nice because you used go have to walk across the street if it were super busy. Also having to check in/pick up from boarding is now in a separate building which is nice because it's not as packed over there. Whereas it still feels like they need more staff. Or maybe an additional building as well or filter their grooming/day care customers to the boarding building and leave only the veterinarian matters in building one. But one thing that bothers me is the way so many of the people that come here cannot control their animals or don't pay attention are irresponsible with their pets. They leave them off the leash or let them wander in other pet's faces or let them jump at people or give too much slack on the leashes which can all cause a problem. (Which is not necessarily the business's fault) BUT I think having separate area for those just coming for grooming would be better because it gets ridiculously busy. Currently it could sometimes be an hour wait which obviously most dogs will get pretty restless because they're around a million other pets and it's like sensory overload in there barking and whining and people talking paws running across the floor people walking going in and out shuffling around different pets everywhere. So it'd be better to get them in and out faster. But it always seems like there will be one vet and then not enough counter staff/kennel people. So I think they need to hire like 4 more of each go help with their expansion. They're all really nice there but they seem stretched way too thin on staff.

Martin Smith

We have two very loved very important yellow Labradors that we use Midwest for care. We've taken them to other places but Midwest is where we settled. They get busy but that is because they are good at what they do. One of our dogs developed a Tumor in his eye and it was recommended that the eye be removed. We didn't want to take the first diagnosis on something so extreme. We went to 2 other clinics with specialists on staff and they all confirmed the same. Of all of them the most reasonably priced procedure was Midwest and Dr. Webb did an amazing job on Mackenzie. It was obviously not easy but in the end Mackenzie adjusted the way she performed it didn't ruin his adorable look and we got another year and a half of love from our Dog before we had to say goodbye. We also used Midwest house call euthanasia service when the time came. They were extremely comforting to us and our pup. It was a very peaceful heartfelt goodbye to our beloved Mackenzie. It costs an additional $90 for them on average to come out to your home rather than bringing your pet to them but it was worth it. They send one of the Vets to administer the procedure, not just someone trained in specifically euthanasia. We asked her to reassure us we were doing the right thing which is what you will end up living with after. She was familiar with the pets issues and gave him a brief checkup and consultation before we came to our decision. That is the kind of reassurance you will want when moving forward. Midwest is very good at what they do.

Kyla Brown

I absolutely love the staff here. They are so accommodating. Thank you Latrina and Lisa (I believe I have the names right) for helping me after hours. I really REALLY appreciate you going above and beyond!

Aimee Heinrich

Although not the most personal vet office, I have always been treated with respect here. I love the convenience of not having to book an appointment, but sometimes that comes with longer wait times. I have taken all 5 of my dogs here with no issues. The vets and techs are always super gentle and sweet to my fur babies. I do not mind that the price is a little higher here than other places; I've always felt like I've gotten top notch care.

Maria Quinn

Fantastic staff who truly cares about your pets. They will take the time to explain medical procedures and treatment options for your pets and what they think is best. Appointments aren't necessary and as it is a first come first serve clinic. The earlier you come the better, take advantage of the kitten and puppy package, it really is worth it.

Star Larson

It would be more stars but the wait is always waaaay longer than expected. If the say 30 mins you will most likely be there 1.5 hrs. Im here getting my dog checked after her surgery all they did was remove stitches and try to release we had to ask for the doc to check her even though they told us they wanted to check her on her next visit when they removed stitches( must have lost notes). Im almost passed the point of frustration with this wait time. My dog is getting anxious they had to recheck us in putting us at bottom of list. If your old dont come here. You may die before being seen. From the smell of the room we are in i believe death here is common. My father has literally fallen asleep waiting. I think they have forgotten about us in exam room 5 so if anyone is reading this send rations.

Xtra Mobile

this place is a joke please save your pets life and go to the animal welfare league on 1003 and Harlem midwest charged me 900 where in harlem was only 150

marcus pericak

If I could give a 0 star I would. Called in two / three days ago , was told my dog was due for all these shots, which are not required. Only one was. Girl insisted I was wrong until I started pushing back. She finally admitted that I was right. Went up there to get his medical records because I have had nothing but headaches in the past , spoke to Katrina , who is a manager , explained to her past issues and the current issue. She was super professional and nice to talk to. She apologized and convinced me to give them a shot to stay. Out of respect for the owner , who saved my dogs life 4 years ago , and her and how she handled everything , I agreed to bring in my dog for grooming and his shot. Bring him in today , go to pick him up , all his nails are chipped , pealing and he looks like a big fur ball. I know they didn't brush his teeth, and now I have to pay to get him groomed again by someone else. Meagan , another manager , was super nice and professional , but it wasn't about the money being refunded ( which I did not take my money back , I paid like a man) , it was about doing the job right the first time. The $92 I put out is fine because in the end they will miss my money more than I will miss them. You would of thought someone would of put a note in my file saying make sure everything is good , having issues , on the verge of leaving. Just unreal. Much respect to the two managers and owner but if you can prevent bringing your animal here , I would. They are not cheap to begin with and you def don't get what you pay for. So disappointed.

Philip Robinson

Very good experience great dane got fixed no problems

Jeremy rone

Best staff best vet best everything. Always so nice and willing to go there extra step with my puppy. I tell all my friends family to go to this location...............................

Jennifer B

Holy shartsss...this place is disorganized. No one knows anything. Someone is always talking to someone else for how to do their job. The snacks at the counters is not a good idea. I LOVE receiving paperwork full of your spittle chip fingers. The wait is RIDICULOUS. You could bbq ribs outside and still be waiting in line. The pricing--- whooooo you might as well cut your leg off as payment. The estimate and price are world's apart. You might take your animal to the vet but you feel as if you've had a prostate exam yourself. They would charge you to breathe their air if they could. FIND ANOTHER OPTION.

Dave Felton

I was forced to make one of the HARDEST decisions ever..I had my max for almost 15 years. When the time for his transition came.. I was grateful for friendly service that was unrushed and compassionate..

Barbara Caruso

These doctors are so kind. I have come here many times and everyone is so nice. Sometimes there are long waits, but it is mostly because some animals needed so much extra care. My Gizzy was brought there in very serious condition. They rushed to stop the bleeding and sew him up. He had been seriously attacked by another dog. I am sure many people had to wait a long time because of us. I am sorry, but emergencies happen.

Sarah Doughty

A wonderful place with amazing caring people. Your animals come first here and everyone works their absolute hardest to treat them like family.

Pat Schulte

Love the hours...so much more flexibility to my own schedule. Usually not much of a wait time. Prices cheaper compared to other vets in the area-meds are filled extremely quickly. Staff is excellent!

ebony love

I went in today as a walk in with my guinea pig as a concern/precaution/treatment if needed. the staff was nothing but kind, friendly and helpful. after i was told that i would have to wait for the vet because she was on a house all, i was offered a private room to wait within 5-10 min after checkin in. i was checked in, saw the vet Dr. Schultz and finished within an hour! Im very happy for my first vet visit ever and with being a new guinea pig owner. I would recommend this place for sure! :)

Richard Schneider

Such great staff and doctors this facility is awesome never a long wait also priced very reasonable

Tanna Farej

I recommend this place because the staff is wonderful and so are the doctors… However my one complaint would be that the waiting area is a joke… People do not control their dogs at all… They are climbing all over the furniture and are on extended leashes .....I was there this week with my German Shepherd completely under my control… Four different dogs/ ppl approached him without asking.... Dogs were growling and pulling towards him and the owners were oblivious... So I would ask that Midwest takes a little better control of their waiting area ....before there is a problem...

Mariellen Markunas

Fantastic care by Dr Hall! Our cat got injured and everyone on staff took excellent care of her. They were very thorough with her exam and testing. Everyone was kind and friendly. Clean facility. Very reasonable prices.

Tonya C

Great facility for mini dogs. They take great care of my Pom. NO APPT REQUIRED. Love that.

Gabriel Wright

I like this Animal Hospital because they are fast and Persice. They get down to the point and get your pets the care that they need right away.

Michelle Lynn

I was here the other day to finish getting my puppies shots. We got in right away to see a vet which was nice and we really liked the vet we saw. The only issue I had was the girl at the front desk her name was Katie. She was extremely rude to us and I really didn’t appreciate it. Maybe she she should get a new job if she’s so miserable there.

Chris Wozniczka

They saved my pet rabbit, the doc was amazing highly recommended

Linda Beukinga

They were replacing doors and alot of noise were scaring dogs. They should have done that at night when no dogs were coming in and out

Russ S

I called Midwest when we were out of town and my dog was being bordered at a kennel. He got sick and the kennel wanted him out. The staff at Midwest was GREAT in helping us to get him the care and ongoing boarding he needed: even though he was not previously a patient there. We will definitely be going there for our future vetinary needs! Thank you Jen for saving our vacation and helping us out!!!!

Craig Burklow

Worst place ever took my pit there the love of my life could not find out what was wrong with her and charged me close to 600 dollars now they meet my lawyers a big joke of vets buy the way took her to another vet an within 24 hours found out she had terminal cancer an I had to put her down that night what a joke of a facility

Marnie Harris

I love this place...Dr coyne is awesome...the whole staff is great....wouldn't go anywhere else...❤❤❤

Strongly discourage people from taking their pet here. We are on a pet package from Furry Babies and as soon as the included shots are finished, we will never be back. I have had several occurrences of leaving with my puppy having a "clean bill of health" and had to come back the next day because of change in behavior and symptoms. I have never had the same doctor more than one time and the individuals never seem to know what her past symptoms have been. Also, the prices are absolutely ridiculous, charged $60 to have a 5 minute "consultation" with the vet. This "consultation" included her asking if my puppy had been eating and drinking. The vet did not check her temperature, ears, eyes, etc. Needless to say, I can not wait for my puppy package to be completed. Please do not bring your pet here, I am sadly convinced that they are in it for the money and do not care for the animals. To end on a positive note, most of the girls at the front desk are very friendly and informative.

Laraine Ruberry

I love Midwest Animal ...the staff is soooo kind and the doctors are fantastic...Love that they have Sunday hours

Lori Klinka

Dr. Schultz is an excellent doctor! She is so compassionate, patient, knowledgable. She does a great job of explaining the problem and solution. She really helped us and our cat Lukey. We are SO grateful!!!

John Strangeman

My Ozzie is a patient here and I have nothing but praise for the quality of care diagnosis and treatment. The vets and techs are kind and caring to a fault. Oz loves it here, unlike his prior place he is comfortable here. In no hurry to leave. He just completed a two day boarding stay today and after taking me for a long walk, he went over to the employee entrance and barked to get in. He has never barked to get in anywhere else but home. Nuff said.

Laura Nincevich

I cannot express enough the gratitude we have for the care we received for our senior dog when it was time to let her go. Dr. Harasim was so calm, gentle and truly compassionate to my husband, myself and our dog, as was the front office and the techs who assisted. In no way did we feel pressured or rushed and we really appreciated that by calling ahead of time they had a room ready for us so we didn't have the added stress of waiting at an emotional time for our family. I cannot recommend their services enough. Previously we have seen Dr. Pawlowski and have always been happy with the care received here.

Ben Mascow

EDIT - after I posted this review (3 stars) I have updated to 5. The daycare manager (who’s name I did not catch) addressed my concerns personally, increased staff available and has made sure that they open on time. These people care about your pets - wonderful facility. —— We take our dogs here for day care while my wife and I work. If this was just a review of the daycare and boarding it would be a full 5 stars for sure! However, I do have some issues with the opening time and check in procedures. 1. If you say you open at 6:30, please open at 6:30. Frequently the doors do not open until 6:33 or 6:34, this may not seem like a big deal but I need to catch a 6:47 Metra to make it to work on time. I cut it very close and if I’m not first in line you can forget it. 2. Have runners ready and waiting at opening. Making your desk staff call runners after they open causes 5-10 excited dogs to be standing and waiting anxiously. While nothing serious has happened yet this slows the entire process down and is dangerous. I can tell you that every morning at 6:30 there is a line out the lobby waiting. Overall a great facility - just be more mindful of a few things and thus would be 5 stars for sure!

Desirae Jessen

Terrible. Kept taking my dog here for vomiting. You get a different doctor every time so no one really knows what is going on and nothing is consistent. Kept being given different reasons but never really looked into what was wrong. Took me FORTY MINUTES to get his medical records to take to a new vet. My dog actually had a serious problem. Strongly suggest taking your pets elsewhere to get the care they need and some consistency and not just people selling you packages and giving vague explanations.

Carol Hornick

Staff is very helpful. Dr Kat is the best. You can even adopt or rescue cats & kittens.

Amanda Tzanov

I am very happy with this vet. We have coming since september when we rescued our dog. He's been boarded here several times as well as been to doggie daycare. The service and care he gets for the price is fantastic. For the visit side, they do not make appointments so it's first come first serve, that means there is a wait sometimes when you need to see a doctor. Shots and easy things are taken care of quickly. Very happy we found this vet!

Katrina Mixson

Dr. Hall was amazing. She found a solution for my dog’s problem right away, and even had a plan b ready to go if the first solution didn’t work.

Jessica Leonard

Great place to take my babies! Had an issue while my vet was closed and found Midwest. Now Midwest is my regular vet. Their hours are most convenient, they offer great services, and have just a wonderful staff!!

Gabrielle Todd

Very nice and friendly staff!

Alicia Kinzler

My mom adopted a dog and my son adopted a cat. Awesome pets!

Amanda J

Always great service, convenient hours, my dog has been boarded here and also gets his vet care. Prices are reasonable and never an overly long wait.

I'm delighted by the service and responsiveness I have had from here. I have two dogs and now (due to death in family) three cats. Four years they've not put a step wrong with me or my animals.

Long story somewhat shortened, my son and I found a beautiful and very friendly black cat in our yard with an orange collar with a orange bell. Animal control had me drop it off at midwest. When I called to follow up, they would not give me any information. If the owners came an got her, if the cat was moved...nothing! I just wanted to make sure it was still there so I could check with some neighbors. The lack of communication was very unnerving, considering the stories I've heard about them. Even after calling, they say their policy is to not give away that information even though I was the one that delivered it to their location and signed it over to their desk staff. I'll never take an animal to this place ever again.

I want to thank the Midwest staff for all your help when my family was beyond saddened With the loss of our dog Riley. You were compassionate and so helpful when we brought her in. We were surprised & thankful when my husband received a call to come pick up a clay paw print that was made 4 us.

They are very awesome to my dog. This is my second dog that gets treated at this facility. I recommended to anyone that has a dog.

Really nice staff, but no service for exotic animals

They always take great care of my dog!

I brought my bunny here for lack of appetite, he met Dr. Schultz who treated him with the utmost care. Her tenderness with him was much appreciated and she was surprised when he responded to her cuddle and patient reassurance that she was trying to help him. When he didn't get better, she saw him immediately and recommended an exotic hospital so he could get more specialized care which I will be forever grateful for. Although the prices are easier here in comparison to the other hospital, I am captivated by their kindness and attentiveness to my furry friend. Recommended to everybody for rabbit emergencies since the other places available nearby didn't want to sacrifice an appointment if he got temporary treatment somewhere else, a frustrating experience for me to say the least.
