The staff here is so nice and caring about the animals and take such great care of them.

Our dog just turned 14 years old this week and is healthy (for his age), minimal health issues and still spunky. I owe this to the outstanding care he has received since he was a 6 week old puppy at Lindenhurst Animal Hospital. The vets and staff treat him like one of their own.

We have been taking our pets to the Lindenhurst Animal Hospital since we moved to Gurnee in 2001. We now have four dogs and the staff there are great with all of them. I have dealt with other vets in the past, but the only place I trust my pack with is the Lindenhurst Animal Hospital. Highly Recommended.

Overpriced and the front office staff is horrible. Their systems were down and could not take the payment. They said we will get back to us, not once but twice. They never followed up until they turned it over to collections. The office manager said ' It was out of their hands' which is absolutely FALSE. We have paid the balance back in May by check that was cashed but were still 'served' New Years Eve. The amounts are all wrong and we plan on taking action. Have been a long time customer of theirs with 3 dogs, but this was the last time we are using them.

Have had our dogs with this practice for the last 11 years. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and has provided great care for all of these years. All of the vets are wonderful and a special shout out to "Matt" the dog whisperer. Thanks!

If you have cats and live in northern Lake County, IL, this is the best veterinary clinic in the area. This is primarily due to the separate waiting room for cats thus decreasing the challenges in being in the same room with dogs. All the vets are great to work with and the entire staff truly loves all animals.

Joyce Tangney

Love this place. They actually care about the animals... not just how much they can take out of your pocket. Great service. Great people. Love my Marylyn.

In late January, our oldest cat, Joee, took a turn for the worse and we needed to address it. We've not been to this clinic in the past but I had always heard (and read) good reviews. It was the best decision ever. I've never been more impressed with the quality and caring about our situation. We had to put our Joee down but those that worked with us to do this were phenomenal. So caring, gentle and extremely sincere. Every step of the way was totally peaceful and they allowed us to spend as much time with Joee prior, and after. And when I went back to pick up her ashes, again, they were so kind and gentle with her remains. We then received a sympathy card signed by all at the clinic! And, also, kindness from the facility that cremated her. Again, I have never been more impressed and we have already decided to use this clinic again when our pets are in need of maintenance or help. Thank you!!

All of my pets are in the best hands here. Dr Unger treats my pets as if they were his own. He never suggests unnecessary treatments and always gives me the most honest advice. The staff is exceptional as well, from Amber at the front desk to Grace & Matt as the most experienced and trusted vet techs. I've taken my dogs and kitties here for years and my family is blessed to have such a great crew taking care of our furry family members.

I LOVE THIS OFFICE! All the staff at Lindenhurst Animal Hospital are great. From the reception staff, techs and doctors. They are caring and compassionate. They truly love the animals and you can tell. My pets have been going here for about 9 years since i moved into the area. They have always had time to get me in when my dogs have been sick. I once brought one of my dogs in late on a Friday several years back. He was very sick. Turns out he had a blockage and wouldn't have made it thru the weekend. Dr Unger stayed to do emergency surgery and saved his life. They are the best vets I've ever had and would recommend them to anyone.

Nancy Brandes

They are friendly and awesome! Been using for many years.

They take such good care of my puppy!

We've been going to Lindenhurst Animal Hospital since Austin, our now 9 year old Siberian Husky, was a puppy. My wife and I did extensive research of local animal hospitals and are glad we choose Lindenhurst AH. LAH is one of few AAHA accredited animal hospitals in the area. Established in 1933 by leaders in the veterinary profession, AAHA is the only companion animal exclusive veterinary association. AAHA is best known for its accreditation of companion animal practices. To become accredited, companion animal hospitals undergo regular comprehensive evaluations by AAHA veterinary experts who evaluate the practice on approximately 900 standards of veterinary care. Every experience since going to LAH has been positive. My wife and I were new puppy parents and LAH had a class that we participated. It taught some good fundamentals and even helped with some techniques for preventing bad behavior. At that point we knew we made the right decision. Last year, Austin tore his ACL and needed surgery. During this very stressful time, LAH handled our case perfectly. The surgery was a success and rehab was needed. All this happened 1 week before my wife and I were leaving for our 10 year anniversary trip. My parents were coming in to stay with Austin while we were away. During that time, Dr Preston and Matt (best Vet Tech ever!) made frequent house calls to check on Austin and to administer laser therapy. They even Skyped with us so we could witness the sessions and ask questions. One year later and Austin is fully recovered. Matt and Grace, honestly the best Vet Techs anywhere, are so wonderful with Austin. From the moment we walk in, Austin lets out his Husky wooos until he sees them. Once they come out to greet him, Austin gives lots of kisses. Matt even called us on his days off to check on Austin after surgery. Truly one of the best! LAH treats its customers as family. They take the time to get to know the pets and the owners. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

It's a fine place but very expensive. Maybe places in the area are less and do great work also

Tracy Velkover

I recommend Lindenhurst Animal Hospital to everyone. My pets are always treated very special. i get more time with my vet for my cats' health than I do with my family doctor. I'm impressed that Dr. Unger will stay late to follow up with a phone call about test results. He has done this multiple times!!

Dr. Rodney Unger has been our vet for several years. Very caring, excellent in keeping our dogs healthy and happy. Otter and diesel are always excited to see him. he is great!

GrumpyCat Jen

The staff there was very nice and treated my cats well. I took them in just for an examination and rabies vaccine. My one cat made a mess in the carrier, and they not only cleaned my cat up a bit, but they also cleaned out the carrier. I still did a thorough cleaning when I got home, but I thought it was very nice of them to do that for me for the ride home!

Great place to bring your pets. Whether it's for a check up, a sick animal, or for other arrangements, Lindenhurst Animal Hospital is personable and caring towards you and your pet.

Martina Markovics

Dr. Kofoed and her technician were wonderful and caring during a difficult time. Thanks to them for their help and support.

Over priced and judgemental. Been a customer for over 8 years...liked them at first, then over time...opinion of them went down hill. Would rather tell you to take your animal to the ER than make an appointment. Doctors like to lecture you and make you feel stupid...especially if you can't afford certain (unnecessary) tests or products. Will add tests to bloodwork, without asking for your approval...increasing the price of the office visit. They've done this to me a couple of times. Found a vet willing to work with me...so I won't be returning to Lindenhurst.

Used this vet and seemed ok at first. Until I actually went to a vet that actually shows what it takes to diagnose an animal. Had to put my dog down and after 3 long weeks of going to lindenhurst, I realize it was easier for them to pump him with pills rather then actually find out what was wrong. I went to a vet in Northlake and not only did they spend over a half hour examining my dog, but gave me the ground truth of my dogs situation actually putting hands on my dog looking for whatever was causing his pain. Lindenhurst animal hospital was just throwing it in the dark and was just seeing what stuck .... my dog is gone now.... I’m only left thinking if I would’ve went with another vet, I probably would’ve had the answers I needed sooner.

Love the staff...every single one of them! They are all so helpful and kind. Their love for my pets shows each time we visit. Our regular doctor is Dr. Preston. She is fabulous! My pets love her, as do we. She takes the time to answer all my questions. I trust partnering with her to make the best decisions regarding the health of my pets.

Kyle Stiverson

Dr. Koefoed is top notch....very compassionate and understanding since we have and elderly doberman. Look NO further if you are considering a high quality vet Dr.! Her follow up is impeccable!!! I will not go to any other Vet after trying 2 others. These people are the best.

Ken Fritz

My dog was bit by another dog in the neighborhood two weeks ago. When it happened I called my vet (Lindenhurst) and asked for an immediate appointment. Their response was bring her in right away and they will see her as soon as we arrive. They took care of her immediately upon arrival, we went back today for removal of the staples and she is doing just fine. Thanks.

Larry Kilpatrick

Excellent service and knowledgeable staff. My dog was faced with a stressful, urgent-care need and their team took care and diligence to make the experience as comforting as possible to give medical attention to my dog. Thank you!

Joel Blumer

Avoid this animal hospital. They believe all their customers are stupid. On our last visit, our cat had to be quickly moved to an emergency facility. Because of the rush, they said they would just send us the bill. Received a bill dated 11/10/17. No due date or any other date on the bill. The bottom of the bill showed the balance as current and said a finance charge would apply after 30 days. Mailed check on 11/28/17. Received a special bill the following week dated 12/1/17 that showed my payment was received on 12/1/17 and said I owed a $30 finance charge. When I called to inquire, the office manager actually said I was stupid if I didn’t know the 30 days related back to the first of the month, not the date on the bill. Sent a follow-up letter to Dr Preston and she never replied. Since the doctor and the staff think I am stupid, and they are obviously in desperate need of $30, I am taking my cats to another vet. Unbelievably terrible customer service.

This was always a great vet. We started going to this vet in 1999 when we got our kitten and he continued as a patient until 2017 when something happened to make them not care about him anymore. Our cat got all his vaccinations on time, had wellness checks, declaw, neuter, teeth cleaning, and senior care, all on a regular basis. Also, he had thyroid issues and we got his drugs from here, and he had an operation in 2012 for kidney stones here. Bought our food through them, also. We were going along great until 2016/17 when he began having kidney stone problems again and we had to take him to the emergency vet a couple times due to Lindenhurst not being open at the time. This was, apparently, the thing that got us booted, but we don't know. When I next tried to make a routine appointment, I was told we were not in the system and were not patients there anymore. They were under the impression that we had gone to another vet and said they couldn't see us as a result. When someone finally located us in the computer, they said it looked like all our records had been sent to a vet in Skokie. Skokie! During the time we had been at Lindenhurst AH we had lived in several places (Grayslake, Kenosha, Palatine, Elgin) , but never changed our vet because it was a good place and our cat liked the two doctors he saw, both of whom had left the practice earlier that year. Now the doctors were gone, our records were someplace in Skokie, and kitty was no longer a patient. 18 years then this. They weren't particularly accommodating, either--like they just didn't care if they lost a regular patient that had paid thousands of dollars to them over the years and made all the regular visits to keep their animal healthy. Oh, to be that flush with money that you can treat your loyal patients this way! Needless to say, we found one of the vets who had worked there before and became a patient there. It was an unnecessary hassle, though, for a cat of that age who needed care. And disappointing that no explanation was given The vet who is the owner must not have cared or we would have heard from her--herself, preferably, or through an employee. There either should have been a letter sent to us if they did not want us as patients, or, if a mix-up, an effort to fix the issue. Neither was offered. This used to be a great place to go, but not now. If I had had a 2 year old cat that just needed vaccinations, I would have been peeved, but found a new vet. With an 18 year old cat with health issues? Just no excuse for this unprofessional behavior.

Have used Lindenhurst Animal Hospital since Dr. Trask first opened it in Lindenhurst. Absolutely outstanding service always ! Friendly Staff, clean facility. And, always sensitive to not only my pets needs but mine also! Highly recommend ! ! !

Lindenhurst Animal Hospital is a great place to take your pets for caring, complete health examinations and interventions. The receptionists and assistants are bright, happy people who are intelligent and on top of things. And, Dr. Janssen can't be nicer or more caring. I have multiple cats, and all of our needs have been considered and handled as well as possible.

My furbaby kitties have gone to Lindenhurst Animal Hospital for 5 years. Both kitties became very sick and they diagnosed the problems and we are now able to keep their illnesses under control. They wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for all the excellent doctors and staff. Love these guys!

Run as fast as you can... wish I had known what I know now. My story is way too long to post... all I can tell you is that if you want your pets to live, and you want excellent customer service, then go to Dr. Unger at the Lake Villa Animal Hospital where they save your pets, not kill them like this place did to one of my babies. Not only is this place overly expensive, they were also cruel and abusive to my other cat! Thank God I found LVAH in time to save my other 2 babies. I'd give 0 stars if I could.

Carlina Rosales

The place is good but I didn't feel the connection between the workers and my dog. Maybe, because it was late in the afternoon and they were tired. To work in a place like that people must be very, very compassionate.
