I love my cat vet Dr. Williams. He knows everything about cats and other animals. He was also my hamsters vet. He is knowledgeable and the animals are so comfort with him. This vet knows his stuff and loves all his animals and their parents.

Dakota has been going to this since I have had him which i over 2 years now. Each doctor that he has had at the 53rd street location that he has had has patience, knowledge, understanding of my concerns. As of now he has Dr. Ogg who i am happy is familiar with the type of dog Dakota is whippet and no matter how cray cray i get sometimes over him she is right there helping and guiding me in the right direct. you can not go wrong with this clinic .

I've been taking my animals to Hyde Park Animal Clinic since the old Harper Court days. I now go to the Stony Island location (nearer to home, more parking and open on Sundays!). I wouldn't take my gang anywhere else. Together we have been through some bad times over the years when it is time to say goodby and good times when things work out well. Everybody is so friendly & helpful. Dr. Williams is the Best! He says its just knowing cat behavior, but I'm convinced its really magic.

I shall not be returning to this location, my dog was seen for an eye injury, I was unable to speak to the vet afterwards despite repeated calls and the clinic was unable to provide me with complete records for ophthalmic visit. Not good.

I am a new puppy mom. My little girl is Maizy. With an AKC registration you get one free initial visit to a vet in their listing and this was in it. Which is perfect because I live super close. Came in for the visit. They were extremely nice. I saw Dr. Williams. I had to email him two things so he could print them thankfully since I did not have a printer. He was totally cool and ok with it. He helped me learn some new things that I needed to know and got me set up for future appointments. I'll be back.

I'm still shaken by my last encounter at this clinic so forgive the tone of this entry. After weeks of veterinary care for my sick cat and ultimately having to go to another clinic for confirmatory diagnosis, I brought him back to HPAH for euthanasia. The support staff was cheerful and friendly. The vet tech, Paul, who took my cat away to have an IV line placed, said that he would be right back. Over 20 minutes later he still wasn't back and I went out to the front desk to see what was going on. Another 5 minutes goes by and the vet, Dr. Avery, comes in. She said that they had been unable to place the IV and would have to do a direct cardiac injection. I asked her how many times they had tried to place the IV. She said so many times that she had lost count. I pictured my dying cat on a cold steel table being held down by the techs as she stuck him over and over again to do the supposedly humane thing. I will admit that I became upset. Why didn't you come in after 2 or 3 sticks to tell me that perhaps it would be kinder to pursue a different option? I yelled at her. She yelled at me. Repeatedly. "Well WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO NOW?" She asked. Repeatedly "I AM AT MY WITS END!" She was at her wits end because it was the very end of the day, she was having a hard time doing her job, and weeks previously when my cat was an inpatient, she had had to deal over the phone with my dissatisfaction with their care and lack of communication. To be fair she was covering for a colleague, Dr. Jeremy Williams, one of the owners. So she didn't want to come back into the exam room to tell me that the euthanasia process was not going as planned. She felt the better option was to keep sticking needles into my poor cat. She called me rude. She yelled some more, and ultimately handed off the final procedure to a colleague. He and a tech came into the room with my cat, both front legs shaved to reveal the stick marks, with some unstated drug already on board (God knows at what point she gave this) such that he was wide eyed and altered. Another colleague had to perform the cardiac injection under general anesthesia and contend with me sobbing over table. So under no circumstances should you bring your pet here. Not even to end its life. Don't do it. If you have read any positive reviews about how wonderful Tom Wake is, he is no longer practicing there. I have lived in the neighborhood for decades. I grew up here, and for years my family brought our pets to this clinic. I will never go back. Ever.

my husband and I brought our Ivy, a pet rat, in when it was her time to pass on. The staff was so sweet and so was the Vet. They even had a lit candle in the front of the clinic to let people know, a persons pet is being put down. The pricing was honestly the best. we paid I believe (125 - or less) which also included a rememberance of her. Foot prints and a “crossing the rainbow bridge” poem: They really eased a painful day for us. We Thank you.

Have been carrying for my Pitties for about 8years. From the front desk staff to the doctors, you can tell each really enjoys and understands your special family member. We usually see Dr. Williams who gives it to us straight and when we only want 'the basics' because of finances (their rates CAN be on the high side) he will break it down to what works for us and still provide good care for my babies. My Hannibal is now a 10 yr old healthy, lean Am.Staf.Terrier!

my beautiful baby Mia was unexpectedly put down because she had an enlarged heart I loved her very much and when I left right after we put her down out of pure shock and me having a panic attack I accidentally left her blanket at Hyde Park Vet, her blanket was the only thing I had left of her's because I couldn't afford to take her ashes home as my bill was already 300 dollars. My mother called immediately after and asked them to hold the blanket. When I went to pick up my babies blanket there was a huge hole in it, when I called to ask why my babies only blanket had a huge hole in it , they simply told me oh a dog must have chewed it up it is our mistake sorry, I am totally disgusted I had Mia for 12 years and now my one thing I have to remember her was carelessly destroyed. This occurred at the stony island location

Really disappointed with the diminishing quality of care/concern over the past few years. Consistently missed issues with my pet, but at least they seemed to care and were responsive to my concerns. I no longer trust them to even achieve that level of care. If you have to stay nearby for your pet's care, this may be the best place to take them, and isn't that a shame.
