I’ve been bringing my dog(s) here for well over 10years and they’ve always gotten good care..however the last few times I’ve boarded my dog here he’s gone in happy and normal and comes home unhappy with something wrong..like kennel cough and this time diarrhea. also ..like the last time...I called because I’m concerned about him being sick and the girl on the phone acts as if I shouldn’t be concerned at all and I was told “just let it run it’s course”... This is the third time my dog has been sickly after a weeks boarding..I’m not sure there will be a fourth

Dr Jessen and his assistant was exceptional on answering all questions, they gave us a info packet on what they felt my be Bennys situation at hand, gave us an antibiotic to start with, and was especially happy about how they were with Benny (gentle, caring and loving). I will definitely be bringing my dog back here at all times for anything that he needs.

Dr. Jenner has always taken really good care of my fur kids. I currently have an 18 year old kitty that I know would not still be with me if Dr. Jenner didn't help me to keep his thyroid and kidney issues in check. Before that she helped me keep my 17 year old chihuahua as healthy as possible up until he crossed the rainbow bridge. That little dog had a lot of issues and she still managed to help him get a few more good years before his time came. The staff at the front desk is always friendly and helpful even when they get swamped with customers all at once, and every vet tech I've encountered has always been gentle with my pets.

Writing this for my mom: Last week, her 12 week old puppy had bloody urine. She discovered this when she got home from work around 6PM. She immediately called her regular vet's (not Four Paws) office to see about getting in to a vet and getting some medicine. Her regular vet's office told her she needed to collect a urine sample, and when my mom told them that she wasn't really urinating, but more just like dribbles, they didn't provide any other suggestions other than, "Follow her around with a tupperware container". She said she would try and mentioned something about getting some medication since she assumed this was some sort of UTI or bladder infection. The vet's office told her "Oh, we probably won't get her any medicine because we have to culture the urine first and that might take a couple days." This was around 6PM on a Thursday night--so a "couple" days could easily be Monday, which would be far too long for this puppy to wait. At that point, my mom was just angry because this young of a puppy needs attention, and if a UTI or bladder infection, waiting to start medications is not a great option. At that point, she hung up and remembered her neighbor mentioning something about Four Paws. So she called and explained the situation, and said that her vet wasn't able to help that night. The vet tech's response was, "Well, we are here and we will help you tonight." This response alone impressed my mom. She asked if she needed to get a urine sample and the young woman told her that they would be able to get it at the office, especially since it seemed like the puppy wasn't able to go very much anyways. Once my mom arrived, she said the young woman was incredibly kind and professional, getting her into a room, where the vet came in immediately after. They took the puppy to get the urine sample and ultrasound and returned to the room within 10 minutes. At that point, the vet told her that the puppy had a bladder stone. He suggested sending it off to the lab to determine what kind of bladder stone, as that would indicate what the best course of treatment was. At every step, he regularly asked my mom if it was okay to do the procedure/action. He said that they were not going to wait for those results to get the puppy some antibiotics and special food specifically for bladder stones. He did say that depending on the lab results, the medication might need to be changed, but that this would at least get her started and hopefully feeling better in the meantime. The vet started to give her instructions for when she called her regular vet's office, however, my mom said that she would see this through with Four Paws. My mom was so incredibly impressed with Four Paws and that they went above and beyond to help her, even though she wasn't one of their patients. She said both the vet and the vet tech were professional, but kind and clearly knew what they were doing, and did so without any sort of attitude or making my mom feel as if she was inconveniencing them, despite it being after 7PM. She asked me to write this because she wanted to let others know of her great experience. She has some follow up appointments, and is interested to see how they go. Four Paws might just have a new client. Again, thank you for all you did and Miss Trudy is definitely feeling better.

My family has been using four paws for many many years now! Some people say its expensive but I definitely get what I pay for! The whole staff is very friendly and always there to help! I just got a puppy myself and brought him in for his first check up! They were so nice and patient with him! I love four paws and I will continue to use them until I have a reason not to, which will probably never happen!

Our visit to Four Paws was great! Dr Jenner remembered me from my Mr Kitty. Dr Jenner met Neeps. He's my big baby boy. I adopted him. This was his first visit. He enjoyed being allowed to roam the room until the doctor arrived. She was so happy to see him. He received a good report. I'm not sure that he will be happy with trying to lose about a pound. We will work on it the best we can. Four Paws has a lot to offer. The treat their patients as if the patient was their fur baby. They give honest opinions. They give options. They never say what must be done. My kitties and I love and recommend Four Paws to anyone looking for awesome medical care with a little humor added.

Worst veterinarian customer service/care I have ever encountered. Paid $130 for all services rendered (anal glands expressed) and medicine. I was not given a detailed receipt explaining all charges. They took the liberty of conducting an annual physical exam without asking. None of the veterinarian technicians seemed to be in a sense of urgency even though my wife and I both expressed that our pet had encountered this issue before, and it had ruptured her skin. Left the clinic, and my pet seems to still be suffering even after services were rendered. I would not recommend this facility to anyone who cares about the well being of their lovely pets.

We highly recommend Four Paws Animal Hospital, they are wonderful. If our dogs are not feeling well, they can usually get them scheduled for an appointment that day or the next. We have taken many of our pets to Four Paws. Our dog Gracie had 10 puppies less than 2 years ago, Four Paws was the best! We had x-rays and ultrasound to see how many puppies to expect. We took all 10 of our puppies in at one week. We then took them in again at their 6 week check up, they took excellent care of them and us. They are very friendly and make you feel like you are family. We see Dr. Jessen and he takes such good care of our golden retrievers! He is very nice, explains everything and treats you like family. If you need a Veterinarian , please consider Four Paws Animal Hospital. You will not be disappointed!

I’ve taken my pets to Four Paws for many years. I’m very pleased with the services they provide (Boarding and Vet Services). When my doggie is moping and I take him in, he gets great care. One of our dogs has been hospitalized twice, has diabetes, and has been going strong, which is more than I can say for our previous dogs who had diabetes. They over charge for their services and when I took my diabetic cat there for a blood curve she came back worse then when she went in. They didn't give her the prescription we provided, she clearly didn't get any water while she was there because she was extremely thirsty when she came home, and to top it off she was absolutely soaked with her own pee. I will never take my pets back there ever again.

Moved back to the area recently and decided to try this place out. Friendly staff, amazingly friendly doctor. Talked kindly and treated my small beagle mix with care even though he's a huge baby and was whimpering when not with me. The Doctor and Nurse both regained my dogs trust after a few shots by getting down and calmly talking to my dog while sneaking a few treats and letting him smell them. The room that I was in was large enough that I was able to let my dog wonder around while on his leash and didn't feel closed in to a small space ( Thought I would add this for others with larger animals. ) With every medical experience I have, I as a patient ( in this case, owner of the patient ) called ahead, had previous medical history faxed over and was aware of what I needed prior to showing up. I was also early to my appointment. This is definitely a factor to having a good experience. When all was said and done the bill was more than I had anticipated ... But when in the room and before showing up I didn't ask for prices so I wasn't mad about it and it was my fault for being caught off guard. Two shots and a year supply of two different medications is what I ended up getting so it's a fair price. And the woman helping me at the front offered to exchange a year supply for 6 months to help with some of the bill to which I accepted. I would recommend anyone to go to this Veterinary clinic.

Said he was a girl, tried to spay him and while inside of him couldn’t find a uterus or ovaries. Took him to Best Friends in fairview and it took minutes for my new vet to confirm “she” is a “he”.

I boarded my dogs here for 3 days and I ended up with over a $1,000 in vet bills when all was and done. My dogs got kennel cough, silver stuff on their teeth from chewing on bars, hair missing on the elbows and my one dog had to be on additional medicine. Called several times about this and only got reimbursement of $80.00. My dogs weigh 75lbs each, might be better if you have small dogs but I wouldn't chance it.

After, almost a year and a dozen kennel stays later, I had enough. Almost every time I picked her up she reeked of urine. She would come home and go straight for her water bowl. She is always withdrawn and exhausted when she comes home...Relaxing yeah right. I've heard of anxiety but come on. They claim to care so much about your pet but they don't even send them home in the condition they get them.. unless you want to pay for grooming & spa treatments, then sending your pet home smelly, dehydrated and depressed is acceptable. The straw that broke the camels back was when I picked her up and she had poop smeared across her backside! They brought her to me like that, REALLY! So, do they not clean out their kennels, do they not let them out or does no one check on them?? Horrible kennel. Oh and lets not forget the fleas that my house dog got multiple times.

I love how caring this office is . We had taken our male cat there due to a bladder infection and ended up having to put him down . They were so compassionate about our decision and made us feel like we were making the right choice due to his age. After the procedure was done the tech made us a clay paw print with our cats name on it . About a week after we recieved a card sharing their condolences. That made us switch vets completely. We used to go to horseshoe but now we go here . I highly recommend this vets office!

I’d like to start off by saying that Dr. Bollmeier and the ladies that work at the front provided me and my dog with excellent care. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in. Dr. Bollmeier went above and beyond comforting my anxious dog while he examined her, and never got frustrated. He made sure I was informed about what medication I was giving my dog, and why. Literally, the only complaint I have is that when I kept asking how much the visit was going to cost, no one gave me a straight answer. I’m disabled and my husband just got out of the military this summer, so we’re stretched thin right now, and I made it clear to the woman who checked me in that I couldn’t afford a high bill, and to let me know if I needed to go to a cheaper vet. Even after the doctor was done seeing us, no one told me what I owed for that day’s visit. I scheduled an appointment for a check up on my dog’s condition, and then talked to another worker there about Care Credit. My application got denied, so I figured I had to pay out of pocket that day. They let me leave without paying, despite me asking where and how I should pay. Fast forward to my appointment this past Monday, and before I’m even seen, I’m told I have to pay for the last visit. That’s not the part I’m annoyed about, though. It’s the fact that, I had the money for my initial visit the day I went in. If I had been billed that day, or if they had even called to have me come in and pay the next day, it would have been fine. When I came in on Monday, I had already paid the bills and couldn’t afford both my first visit and my Monday visit out of pocket. I was forced to leave without having my dog’s eye evaluated for a change in pressure. Other than the issue with billing, I highly recommend this vet, if you can afford it.

They never gave us a quote on how much it would cost to treat my mini schnauzer for pancreatitis. Made me believe that it would be at least under $1000 when explaining what they would be doing for my schnauzer and ended up charging well over $1000 for only 2.5 days in the animal hospital. They tried to make me purchase Hills dog food for my pet, but I've seen how sick its made my previous dogs before so I told them I didn't want it and then the front receptionist/clerk got really snooty. Then I had lost her collar their a few days earlier and gave a PERFECT DESCRIPTION of what it looked like because I knew where I had lost it and on what day. They tried to call me a liar and wouldn't check their lost and found until I told them I just want my dog back and go check for the dang collar. Then I gave the exact description of the collar AGAIN but all they could care about is if I remembered what exam room I was in. It was very stressing when I had brought my dog there in the past days so I of course had a hard time remembering. It took me 10 minutes and then they said " I guess this is really your dog's collar then. We just had to make sure you weren't lying." Why the hell would I lie about losing my dog's collar when I gave an EXACT description of it and what day I lost it on if you can see exactly in your prude face that I gave you a perfect description PLUS its one of the collars that is sold regularly at your office. Honestly, this receptionist started being very rude once I told her I didn't want to pay for their overpriced dog food and that I didn't want it at all. Never going back to Four Paws and will be taking my business elsewhere. This animal hospital needs to learn how to treat their customers better, not take advantage of the situation, and then overcharge for services that at the Emergency Vet Clinic or any reasonable vet would cost less than $800. I do not recommend Four Paws Animal Hospital to anyone at all. There are many better vets that you could go to and that will actually have nice receptionists and techs.

My golden retriever lab mix, Sandy LOVES Dr. Bollemier and his team! She gets excited when it's time to go back in a room to see Dr. Bollemier and the techs! They have been going above and beyond for us and Sandy. This vet is not about money, they care about animals. Dr. Bollemier & his techs don't like to run unnecessary, expensive tests unless its absolutely necessary and does everything they can to help us and other patients save money. I can't thank Four Paws enough! They are an amazing vet and they have the best veterinarians and vet technicians! I highly recommend Dr. Bollemier and his team!! They are the best!! They have the best, caring, hardworking staff at the front desk who also go above and beyond for us and their patients! They also deserve to be recognized! They also do a lot for us and for other patients! They always give us great tips and advice! We will be using this vet as our primary vet until we have to PCS/move! Make sure to download their app! They price match prescriptions and prescription food to Chewy and 1-800 Pet Meds. I think they also price match to other online pet pharmacies, I would still double check with them. :) They also have their online store through their app and have auto ship and will auto-ship prescriptions and food to your door! Make sure to call and ask them for more info! Over all, they are the best vet here in O'Fallon IL and they go above and beyond for us and for their patients!

We are brand new puppy owners. We took our little guy into the Four Paws Animal Hospital for his first appointment. Our tech Marcus was fantastic. The DVM Jones took over an hour going over all our questions. They helped us set up a care plan for our puppy to be sure he was getting all his shots on time. They even went out of the way to print out tips and techniques for overcoming the chewing on furniture. We are so delighted they were recommended to us. Our overall experience was great. This is an amazing place to take animals to. They have an amazing staff that is friendly and welcoming. They even know animals by their first name, which is kind of crazy to me. They also have some specialty food that is required for my cat at a reasonable price. They work with you on everything. I cannot recommend them enough.

I love how caring this office is . We had taken our male cat there due to a bladder infection and ended up having to put him down . They were so compassionate about our decision and made us feel like we were making the right choice due to his age. After the procedure was done the tech made us a clay paw print with our cats name on it . About a week after we recieved a card sharing their condolences. That made us switch vets completely. We used to go to horseshoe but now we go here . I highly recommend this vets office!

I’d like to start off by saying that Dr. Bollmeier and the ladies that work at the front provided me and my dog with excellent care. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in. Dr. Bollmeier went above and beyond comforting my anxious dog while he examined her, and never got frustrated. He made sure I was informed about what medication I was giving my dog, and why. Literally, the only complaint I have is that when I kept asking how much the visit was going to cost, no one gave me a straight answer. I’m disabled and my husband just got out of the military this summer, so we’re stretched thin right now, and I made it clear to the woman who checked me in that I couldn’t afford a high bill, and to let me know if I needed to go to a cheaper vet. Even after the doctor was done seeing us, no one told me what I owed for that day’s visit. I scheduled an appointment for a check up on my dog’s condition, and then talked to another worker there about Care Credit. My application got denied, so I figured I had to pay out of pocket that day. They let me leave without paying, despite me asking where and how I should pay. Fast forward to my appointment this past Monday, and before I’m even seen, I’m told I have to pay for the last visit. That’s not the part I’m annoyed about, though. It’s the fact that, I had the money for my initial visit the day I went in. If I had been billed that day, or if they had even called to have me come in and pay the next day, it would have been fine. When I came in on Monday, I had already paid the bills and couldn’t afford both my first visit and my Monday visit out of pocket. I was forced to leave without having my dog’s eye evaluated for a change in pressure. Other than the issue with billing, I highly recommend this vet, if you can afford it.

The past 2 weeks we have had our 5 year old female Golden doodle, Zoey in for possible tetanus contamination, a very serious and potentially fatal condition. Dr. Bollmeier made every effort to help save Zoey, coming in during his off time and after hours to make sure she was comfortable. Calling us with an update. Said it was a standard extra charge for blood work for her age. ok well someone should of called me and told me. And my cat was the same age when I got the quote. Do not go here!! Waited 40 min before they put me in a room to see the dr. They didn't do any of the procedure stuff in the room we were in, they took my dog and went in back then brought him back and said were all done. My wife took our dog into Four Paws today for a scheduled appointment to receive an allergy shot. When she entered the facility the female employee at the front counter made eye contact and asked how she could help my wife. My wife informed her she was there for an appointment at 2pm (it was 155 pm) and who the appointment was for. The employee acknowledged and began doing something on her computer. My wife took our dog and sat down thinking she had been checked in. At 211pm, when she hadn't been called back, she went to the counter and asked if the lady could find out what was going on. The employee disappeared to the back but when she came back she began helping other customers and provided my wife with no other information. At 218pm she went back to the counter because not only had she not been seen but someone who came in after her was taken back. The same female employee at the counter told my wife they took back a person who's appointment was at 210pm because my wife was late and didn't show up until 215pm. During the exchange between my wife and the female employee, the male employee at the counter told the female "Can you do something with her, I can't have her being loud and talking like that while I am on the phone, I can't hear anything". When they put her in a room a couple of minutes later she informed the vet tech she would like to talk to the Office Manager. A man came in a few minutes later and identified himself as the owner. She recounted the events that had transpired and his initial response was that the employee at the counter could have easily checked the video tapes to see when my wife showed up (almost as if he was implying his employees were right and that she was in fact late). My wife told him she would like them to look at the tapes because she knew she was on time and did not deserve to be treated like that. He apologized for the way his employees treated her and said that actions would be taken to ensure she wasn't treated that way again. Even though my wife only went in for the allergy shot and did not ask for any other services he did try to make it right by telling her he wanted to get a culture on our dogs feet and that he wouldn't charge for it. While the gesture was appreciated it didn't change the fact the employee tried to cover her mistake by accusing my wife of being late and treated her with extreme disrespect.

I took my pure bred mini Schnauzer there & because I said I want to breed him the vet tried to tell me he was part poodle.. ridiculous! Also he tried to sell me flea medicine, steroids, & some kind of powder for my carpet to treat fleas.. my dog did not have fleas nor did my carpet.. they are scammers so watch carefully when you're in the room because your dog might just get a flea that jumps out of the doctor's pocket/hand/jar

This visit turned into a nightmare. I talked to two different ladies because i had to call back and reschedule my appointment . I told both ladies what my cat needed and both of them told me it would cost $50 for sure. (Their words). My cat got her rabies vaccination, had her ears checked but didn't have a surgical procedure from removing a tick, because it turned out to be a (skin tag). They did give her a shot for inflammation of the ears. The bill was $128.90. What happened to the $50.00 (for sure) ? She did get an extra shot for inflammation of the ears, but she didn't have the surgical procedure like they thought.

We have been taking our babies to Four Paws for almost 10 years. We have always been satisfied when we leave there knowing that our pet has received excellent treatment. We have seen all the doctors and like all of them. They really care about our pets. When we lost one of our girls due to a long standing illness, they were very kind and considerate. Will continue going there for as long as we have our babies. I do not understand all the negative reviews. Everyone at Four Paws is so caring and understanding. When we lost our Dottie Girl because of poor health, we were so upset. Instead of having us to stand and pay for the services, they told us not to worry about it that we could come in and pay for it when we felt better, now I think that is caring. They all recognize us and treat us with respect.

I'm a first time pet owner, so a lot of things are new to me, when my dog Topol wasn't acting right I freaked out, I looked up vets near me, and found Four Paws, and I'm glad I made the decision to go to them. Their receptionists were very empathetic and caring towards me, calming me down and made sure my dog was in good care. When they did blood tests and urinal tests, nothing was coming up, until Dr. Jenner made the observation of his flea and tick collar, it turns out he had chewed up bits and pieces of it and swallowed it! After getting proper medication, he was feeling back to his old self. Dr. Jenner is by far one of the best vets I've ever seen, having someone care for your pet as much as you do is rare, and I'm glad I chose the Four Paws team to take care of my guy. I have nothing but praise for them, thank you Dr. Jenner!

I've taken my cats to Four Paws now for several years, mostly for annual check ups but both cats have also have dental surgery and one was spayed here as well. Overall I have zero complaints about the care. The doctors are always very understanding, knowledgeable and kind. About the only thing I can complain about is the price, and although I know I can get my cat taken care of for cheaper elsewhere, the convenience of location and the knowledge that the vets at Four Paws will take care of my babies keeps me coming here.

This is a good place, and I think they do a good job. I was a bit frustrated though when I brought my cat in for boarding. When I setup the reservation, they did not mention anything about making sure my cat was up to date on his shots. When I got there, on a time crunch to leave town, that's when I was told. Instead of being able to just drop off my cat, I had to wait an hour for an available vet to give my cat a shot first. Look, I get that it's their policy that the pets they board be up to date, but if I had been notified of this before day of, I could have come in and gotten that taken care of before the day I was leaving for vacation.

I've just read a HORROR story on how they treated a stray cat that had been brought in by a good Samaritan to get neutered. (See the 6/20/18 post on Four Paws FB page!) Sounded grossly inhumane and showed extreme bias of care for strays. That office needs a reminder about compassionate treatment for "the least of these"!

The medical team at Four Paws went above and beyond to care for our yorkie, Watson. Unfortunately, he went to sleep on Sat, 10 Nov. Saying goodbye to Watson was hard, but Four Paws treated him with absolute dignity and respect even allowing me to take as much time as I needed.
