This is a great animal hospital. I've been going to Dr. Hagedorn for years and always know I'm going to get good advice in the best interest for my pups. We've dealt with many injuries and illnesses between my 2 dogs and recently one had a serious case of pancreatitis. Dr. Hagedorn did everything he could during the day and then referred me to a great animal hospital/specialist that could provide 24/7 intensive care as it ended up requiring several days of hospitalization. My dog made a full recovery and Dr. Hagedorn followed up with me and the ER vet to keep tabs on the situation. It's clear that he really cares about his patients and it made a big difference to have a dependable vet during this scary time. Thank you Dr. Hagedorn and Bramer staff.

The only thing that raises my eyebrows here is the sometimes expensive costs. BUT.....these people know you and your pets. I have been seeing my PCP as long as my cat was alive and he still doesn't know who I am. For us Dr. Retseck took care of our cats for the majority of their lives and was dead honest about what really needed doing what hurt the cats if anything and when options were out being of such kind soul and just honest caring I hope she's around when I kick off. Parking can be a hassle. Davis is fast at times and diagonal parking is bad enough.....try backing out with an angry cat whose gift to you for the trip is as many bombs he can get out before home. Very clean. Very accomodstimg front staff and vets who care. We just lost our last cat.....but to speak in encyclopedic volumes about Dr. Retseck....she was the only one he loved and never attacked.....he saved that for the ride home. Best vets by far.

This is an overdue review, but Dr. Swiatkowski was amazing with my cat Kitty. Kitty wasn't doing well and required urgent attention. His schedule was completely booked but he made time to meet with Kitty knowing she required immediate attention. This clinic and the doctor made special accommodations throughout the week to ensure Kitty was well cared for. I'm happy to say Kitty is doing really extremely well and if it wasn't for Dr. Swiatkowski compassion and sense of urgency I'm not sure that I could share the same success story. Thank you Dr. Swiatkowski for taking such special care of my furry child -it means the world to me.

My cat had to have a procedure and I got an itemized estimate beforehand. Because they are so great and popular, sometimes there is a wait for certain procedures, but totally worth it if you can wait!

I've been going to Bramer since I was a kid, it's where we took our family cat. Now that I'm a cat mama, it's where I bring our babies. Dr. Retseck and Dr. Berkowitz are extremely caring and thoughtful. Our kitty, Olive has been sick on and off since the summer, and Dr. Berkowitz is always kind and gentle with her. They always squeeze us in when Olive needs it, and she is always available to answer any questions.... no matter how silly or redundant. Although Olive's care has been pretty expensive, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I know that Dr. Berkowitz always acts in the best interest of Olive, (and Dr. Retseck for our kitty Duke) I have and will always continue to reccomend Bramer. Val Thomas

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR PETS. THEY ALMOST KILLED MY CAT. I took my cat in for her yearly appointment where I was told that some of her teeth were in very bad shape. I asked how soon they could take care of her and was told that they couldn't do it until next week, at which point my husband and I would be in a different state for his job (for six months). As such, I very deliberately and clearly asked the vet if it would be alright if I waited for a week or two to get her teeth fixed, depending on how long it took us to find a vet and get an appointment. I was told, in very certain terms, that it would perfectly fine for us to wait to get her the appointment. By some twist of fate, we ended up renting an apartment right across from a vet who accepted walk-ins. As such, we were able to get her in to see the vet within just a few days of moving (this would be within five days of going to Bramer). Here, the vet took a much better look at her mouth and told us that he would have to immediately remove one of the teeth as it was hanging on by a thread and could be fatal if swallowed. He went in there with a small prong and, with just a slight movement of his wrist, removed the tooth. I don't even want to think what would have happened had we not had the good luck to find this new vet and get our cat in to see him as soon as possible. On top of that, this vet has always made getting my cat's medication a trial, even though all they have to do is call the prescription in and I take care of all the rest. Even after I have explained situations to them about why things need to be done a certain way and they have agreed to do so, the next time I call I have to go through it all over again as they tell me that they can't do what they have already told me they could. DO NOT GO HERE.

We absolutely adore the vets at Bramer. Our little guy Crosby typically sees Dr. Schoen or Dr. Retseck, and they couldn't be sweeter or more reassuring. I'll admit that I'm a bit of a helicopter parent when it comes to my pup, but we always feel comfortable with their advice and guidance. The entire staff and the techs are really friendly too, and they are very prompt about keeping appointments running on time and getting you into a room, which makes the experience less stressful for my pup. The veterinarians here are very knowledgeable, skilled and caring. The receptionists at the front desk are efficient and friendly, and the vet techs are also friendly and really love the animals. The waiting room and the exam rooms are clean and smell fresh, which is impressive when you know there have been animals and people in and out all day! Of course the most important part of a veterinary practice is the actual pet care. My most recent experience is with Dr. Retseck, who helped me care for two senior cats with chronic issues over the course of the last year. She has a matter-of-fact approach with humans and magically calmed my stressed out cats every visit. Their prices might seem higher at first glance, but many costs are posted on the website (unlike some places), and Dr. Retseck always clearly explained the costs and benefits of tests and procedures up front so I could understand the options. So I think it's worth it.

Like my parents before me, I use Bramer Animal Hospital for our household pets (cats in my case - dog and cats in the case of my parents in the 1960s through 1980s!). Bramer Animal Hospital has been a trusted resource for my family for going on 60 years. Ken Swiatkowski was our vet for our cat, Goblin, who lived to be 19 years old, in no small part to the expert care he got at Bramer. Goblin died a few years ago. Two years ago we adopted two kittens, brothers, from a shelter and they, like Goblin before them, are under the loving care of Dr. Swiatkowski and the staff at Bramer. Like most people, we think of our pets as members of the family, and as such they deserve top notch health care just like the rest of us. Go with Bramer, they've been doing this kind of cutting edge care for a long time!
