Best vet my wife and I have been to. We take all of our animals here and have always been treated perfect. If there has ever been a problem with work done to the animal or financial they have always been accepting of their mistakes and are very good at making us and our pets feel good when we leave. One particular story some vet at Broadway vet quoted me $333 for 20 min of her time ($1,000 A/hr!) and another $700 to put him to sleep for it, plus drugs and stitches to remove a mole off a black labs foot. Not happy with the $1,100 quote a $105 visit to Vista vet got me 2 docs check him out and a sample of the mole. the sample came back and they told me to apply a inexpensive cortozone cream and it would fall off. Surly it did. thanks Vista vet, keep it up and we will keep coming.

Our trip to Vista Animal Hospital was super! We were treated with compassion and felt very well cared for by the entire staff. Thank you!

I will not recommend this vet. If they have any integrity they will allow this review to remain posted. I called the vet inquiring about a euthanasia service for a 70 lb 10yr old bully breed (aggressive toward other animnals multiple times) . The lady on phone named K assured me that yes "they had done that alot". This struck me as a somewhat odd statement but her sales point I guess(i assumed sounds like experience ,boy was I wrong). Due to location and the same day open availability I called back made an appointment for that afternoon. I arrived 20 mins early to take care of needed paperwork and pay for the service. I informed them that we were looking to have the procedure go as smoothly and quickly as possible and not delay any longer. I asked K if she could come shave the spot on the dog outside so we could limit time spent in fear in the room. She abliged and came outside trimmed his front right leg so the vein could be found. Then she told me she would "go get a room ready". I started to let my dog play in the grassy area where he got a goat head in his paw, this is on the vets property. K returns and says the room is ready. Assuming the process is ready to go like we discussed we entered the room where my dog immediately started shaking and trembling with fear. They then decided they needed an accurate weight to get proper dosing. The scale read just between 64.5lbs and 65lbs. Somebody wrote 63lbs on the sheet not sure if it was K or the vet. We then return to room where we have to wait approx 5 minutes for vet to come in all the while my dog is freaking out, what we wanted to avoid, and we're assured it would be smooth process. Remember they in fact had "done this alot" according to them. The vet arrives ask me if I am who I am if the dog is who I claim he is etc. I ask what they need from me and they "nothing" I say can we please just start the process. (Iam on the floor holding the dog at this point.) the vet administered the shot flicked the dogs eyes and says " we may need a little more to fully stop his heart I will have to listen to know" Then she waits about 45 seconds gets her stethocope listens and says "yeah he needs some more but it's OK he SHOULD be MOSTLY unconscious" (Note his chest still lifting and falling with aspirations) I say "I thought this is why we weighed him?" she said "yes it is why we weigh them but some of the liquid bubbles out around the injection site" (I was thinking for somebody that "does this alot" how did you not pre-plan for that loss amount and add more not to mention he was written down at a lower weight not sure 1.5lbs makes a difference but sure seemed too. ) approx one min later she returns with a much larger dose than the first one and administered it to his hind leg. He died approx 30seconds later. The vet said "I'm sorry" asked if we needed a blanket we had one she helped move him onto then left the room. Now I'm not writing this to pick on the office staff or the veternian directly that's why I have not included full names.Nor should the blame of a botched process be put on an office person /vet tech solely but on the practicing veternian. However I was assured the process would be smooth. I have not made things up or imbelished the story just the facts. This is not my first time going through a euthanasia service. I had one done at westvet a few years ago and it was flawless. So I do Know of how things could have transpired. I am sure this vet does do alot of things properly however I would not recommend their euthanasia service.

They have taken great care of my animals. Best vet in town!

I have been going to Vista Vet for years. I have never met anyone there who wasn't nice and genuinely caring towards my animals. They are also very reasonably priced.

Good experience every time!

Had to update because I no longer come here. Last visit the tech started asking for all the details (breed, gender, age) of my girl dog and it was our 5th visit. My dog started to be upset with the way the tech was talking, so we walked out. Also, on a previous dental cleaning, they charged me for nail trimming that wasn't discussed prior. I am disappointed that we can't come back because the Vet was good... her staff and office organization has failed her! Dr. Kimber Zahller was kind, gentle, and patient with my not so Vet loving male dog. We warned the office staff that he can be a little grumpy and not so keen with men, so the office assigned us to Dr. Zahller. She listened well to me, but clearly figured a few things out by observation. The dog was mysteriously not eating, drinking, playing, and acting loopy. She diagnosed the problem as injured shoulders and put him on some anti-inflammatories! He is eating, drinking, and starting to play again. Thank you Dr. Zahller for not trying to be authoritative with our boy, thank you for listening and helping with your expertise!! Let us know if you fix your office staff and tech staff.

Best vet and office staff around. Dr. Bevan is realistic and caring. She provides excellent care to our older animals, including supportive environment for end of life. Priced reasonably and not pushed to spend money in the hopes of unrealistic outcomes. Very glad we found Vista after moving to Boise last year.

I was travelling through town and had to take my 3 year old cat in for a toenail that was partly tore off. I didn’t know what their building looked like when I called but they could get me in right away so that was good. The staff was all friendly but the facility and equipment looked really dated. I think the old guy who owns the place isn’t too interested in keeping up with new things and thinks the way vets did things in the old days is still ‘good enough’. He didn’t seem engaged or interested in pain control, which was important to me and when I asked about it he just said the antibiotics would take the pain and swelling down good enough. But it had only just happened and there wasn’t time for infection and my cat was limping and licking at it so I wanted pain pills. He did a bunch of blood tests so it was all over $300. I feel like he did the blood work to run up the bill, maybe because we’re from out of town, but then why wouldn’t he send a prescription for pain pills, which I asked for? If you’re looking for a vet I think you’d do better picking any other vet in town at random rather than going here.

Our mixed breed dog Katie was hit by a car a week and a half ago...after several days of treatments at WestVet (who are themselves awesome and top notch) we transferred Katie's care to Vista Vet and Drs. David Schulz and Heather Wright. She is in 2 x a day bandaging now and we thoguht we were going to lose her paw, but thigns are looking up and the staff works as a team. I noted another poster's dissatisfaction with Vista and all I can say is pls disregard. These people really care and Dr Schultz took the time to really walk me through her various wounds and the treatment schedule. Thanks again!

The staff is great! Prices are competitive. Our pets receive excellent care!

Very friendly personable staff. My pittie absolutely loves them and was extremely comfortable! He even laid on the vet techs LAP sprawled out, while the vet checked his muscles and bones to try to pinpoint where his limp is coming from. They are thorough, caring, and Dr. Zahller is an amazing woman. You can truly feel her compassion, I almost cried leaving I was so thankful..we haven't even figured out what's wrong yet..but I was so thankful that FINALLY my hard earned money, isn't being wasted. She truly cares, and has made me feel comfortable knowing she is going to do everything she can to find the problem. And that makes me happy. And that, is the best vet you can find. One that treats yours as their own. Thank you Vista animal hospital and Dr. Zahller for being you and being amazing!

Best vets in the area. All the vets do an excellent job in trying to save costs for the customers while providing all options for those on a limited budget. The doctors were fantastic at diagnosing my dog within 24 hours. Great and friendly staff as well. Would recommend to anyone in the ada county.

The vets and staff are always professional and kind to my dogs. I never feel bilked or overcharged, and they provide excellent care and treatment for my animals.

My wife and I have been taking our furry family members to Vista Vet for many years. More than 20 I think. They have always showed real compassion for our pets. We've had many four legged family members who have enriched our lives. One of our Great Pyrenees got to where she couldn't stand up without help. She was over 12 years old so we were blessed. I made an appointment on 1 June, 2018 for a four o'clock appointment. My wife was taking this really hard as Ginger was here very close friend. After spending hours with Ginger by the creek in our back yard, I called Vista Vet to see if they could do a house call. Without hesitation Henry yes. About an hour and a half later Dr. Shultz and Henry arrived at our home near Idaho City to help us with Ginger. What a blessing! I'm so appreciative of these two! It really helped us in a very difficult situation. Thank you very much Henry and Dr. Shultz!

Wonderful doctors and staff. Very knowledgeable and friendly. They always take the time to answer any questions, and to consider multiple possibilities and treatments, while keeping their costs low for their patients. They really care about your pets and about veterinary medicine. Highly recommend.

Took dog in to get glands drained which is routine for this breed. Cost $25 for them to do it which is reasonable. A couple days later one of his glands swelled up and got infected. So called them back to tell them what happened and now they want $70 to do a full check up. This place is a JOKE!!! You could find someone down at the homeless shelter to do better work than these scumbags. The place is a scam. Won't recommend it, won't go back. UPDATE: Took dog to humane society and they took care of the problem by putting him on antibiotics and relieving the area. Going after these people for reimbursement. DON'T go to these people!

I took a kitty in and discovered he had a serious dental issue. They got him right in and the overall bill was reasonable and my kitty is doing so much better. Dr Heather was amazing and I plan on uses their services with my other pets now!

For many years I have taken my lab to Dr. Bev and couldn't be happier. She is very thoughtful about her approach and decisions. I always walk out feeling better about any situation because of her calm demeanor.

We have been taking all our dogs to Vista Animal Hospital for over 15 years. From puppy to passing. Always the highest compassion for our animals care. I am also always amazed to see the most negative internet comments are always anonymous...like they have no accountability for why their pet is at the vet in the first place. Just saying lol.

Carter & Katie Yocham

The staff at Vista Animal Hospital are incredibly friendly and love on our dogs. The vet personally calls to check up with you the day after treatment. We will be coming back!

I do not often write reviews unless the company has left a strong impression with me. My husband and I are parents of two sweet pet rats and, as anyone with rats will tell you, vet trips are often a frequent, costly thing and it is difficult to find a vet who knows about rats and their health needs. Vista Animal Hospital is the only place we will ever take our rats. Dr. Wright and Dr. Schultz are amazing. They are so very knowledgeable about rats and they have taken such good care of them. The facility is clean and well maintained. The staff is very warm and friendly. And the prices are excellent. One of our girls has had to have surgery twice now and both times, the surgery, recovery time, and follow-up experience has been excellent. Dr. Wright has been more than willing to educate every step of the way. The dedication of the staff to the proper care and treatment of these small animals is such a comfort. I cannot speak for dogs, cats, reptiles, etc. but if it is anything like the experiences that we have had, you will not regret using this veterinarian service.

The staff and doctor were very friendly and compassionate. I took my cat in and they took great care of her in a timely manner. I was also very happy about the charge for her care...it was very affordable! I would highly recommend this place for pet care!

I didn't really have good experiences here. Some of the vets working here were not very reliable. I took my dog here about 6 times and they couldn't figure what was wrong with her. I ended up going to Ada Vet and they figured out during my first visit with them what was wrong with my dog. I don't recommend this place.

I needed to establish a new vet and get vaccines updated for my pets. Vista Animal Hospital is on my way to work and I was impressed by their website. I was able to drop my dog off for the day and they took great care of him and called to make sure he was getting everything he needed. They also double checked that he needed a heart worm test I requested. It was nice to know they wanted to do what is best for him and not just add items to his bill. He was super happy and not at all stressed when I picked him up. My cat was a street kitten and is scared of almost everything. When I made his appointment they suggested he could be brought in a separate door that led straight to the exam room so he wouldn’t have to go through a busy lobby. The doctor and tech were so great with him. I think I am a little over protective with him and I was able to relax and let them work. I will definitely be going back to Vista Animal Hospital and would not hesitate to recommend them. I have never filled out a review for anything but they were so amazing I wanted to share my experience!
