I’ve only been there a few times. But, the few times I’ve been there they have been extremely helpful and considerate. They take time to answer questions and, what I love most of all is that they will text you reminders! I will be investigating the boarding part of their business very soon. I will be leaving my dog off for a few hours until he and I get comfortable with everything. They from what I hear, I should be very happy with that. My boy is only 8 to 9 pounds. I am particular. Very clean and well staffed from what I see.

My puppy had an allergic reaction to a vaccination and the team at river city vet was able to get me a same day appointment to be seen. Fast forward 2 weeks and my little man had an allergic reaction to a bee sting, and once again they were able to get me in for a same day appointment! Not once did they refer me off to an emergency vet. I feel they truly care about my puppy and I love that they will see him in a pinch! Also, check out their health plans, it's a great way to save money and make pet visits affordable. Update: This vet office is amazing! I am constantly surprised by their amazing care. I call and they know exactly who me and my dog is, my dog is not just another number :)

Our family of pets began coming to see Dr. Liddell and company almost seven years ago. Once young we now have all senior fur babies both K9 and feline. Of all our experiences with a veterinary practice (we have lived on both coasts and in between) River City has been our favorite. The doctors and technicians are wonderful, patient when we are in a panic and encouraging when issues are more serious. I have always been impressed that I see the same faces year after year. I cannot imagine taking them anywhere else. P.S. It all starts with the first person that answers the phone at the front desk and they are wonderful too.

All of the staff at River City provided excellent care for our sick old dog, always giving us good advice and patiently helping us make the tough decision to put her down. The vet even followed up a few days later to see how everyone was doing. Now, they take care of our wild new puppy including her vet care, bathing and doggie day care. They also talked us through an after hours emergency (really just puppy parent panic) when the puppy ate a rubber band a few weeks ago. Good care, clean facility, reasonable prices, and its always easy to get an appointment. Highly recommend River City Vet Hospital.

As far as service is concerned they go above and beyond. The vet visit is a little steep compared to my vet in Oregon which is only 38$ per visit and the vaccinations are cheaper. But the service was phenomenal.

Choosing a vet is an overwhelming process, especially being new to an area. But if you are looking for a vet, River City is an excellent choice. They were very quick to see my cat, took great care of him, and kept me in the loop with their findings along the way. River City Vet offers a wide variety of vet services. They also offer pet boarding and doggie daycare. The nice thing about the boarding is that it's vet supervised, so if there are any problems with your furry friend, they'll be in good hands. They also just introduced a splash pool to keep their canine guests cool during the dog days of summer. They're very kind and compassionate.

I was very concerned about my cat's health after two solid days of nonstop vomiting. It was clear she wasn't herself and was getting very lethargic and not interested in eating or moving. When nearly every vet was closed on Saturday, I found the listing for river city vet. Their staff including reception, nurse and doctor were all extremely personable, compassionate and understanding. They were able to get me and my cat into a room right away. After bloodwork and urinary analysis along with treatment for dehydration and nausea, I noticed an immediate improvement in my cat on bringing her home. Two days later she hasn't vomited again and she's back to her old self. I wouldn't hesitate to reccommend river city vet for anybody. You can tell these great, highly skilled people love animals. I don't doubt the quality of their care, but if price is a factor then you will probably want to make sure you remind them to clearly communicate prices beforehand. I was told one price over the phone and a very different price at the end of my first visit with no talk of their actions being at an additional cost as they were performing them. They could definitely work on communication, but overall I was impressed at how much they care about their customers having a good experience.

We love River City Vet Hospital. When we brought Maxwell this week we did not have to wait long. We were greeted like we were old friends . Maxwell gets so scared when we walk in the door but everyone is so calming and friendly he ends up smiling. Dr.Harsch always has great ideas as to what Maxwell needs and his diagnosis is always very accurate. My mom and I took my little guy Radar in today after being referred there for an urgent care type situation and we both absolutely loved it! We were greeted by Tracy at the front desk and she was super nice and friendly. She was very helpful and informative as well. The building was nice and clean! Then we were taken into a room and talked to the nurse Emily I believe? She was also very friendly and loved Radar and was very gentle with him. Then we met with the veterinarian Jennifer Puckett and we loved her! She was super friendly and caring and informative and knew what she was talking about. She was nice to radar and gentle. He was in pain but he never had an issue with her. I appreciated the fact that they never made me feel like I had to spend the highest amount of money on my dog and they helped talk me through some decisions on what is best for my dog. Over all, we had an outstanding experience with river city veterinary and we will be back! And I will definitely refer people to this place.

Just took my almost 15 week old puppy there today and everything was GREAT. He has an infected rash, and I loved how they went over everything with me before just doing it. They also do estimates for the pricing so you know what to expect, and don't get a huge surprise at the end. This also made me feel better spending the money that can seem like too much at times because I understood why and what it was for. I would also say their prices are very reasonable compared to others in the area. They are also very knowledgeable, and gave me a great idea of what we might be dealing with in the future good or bad. THANKS SO MUCH AND EVERYONE TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!

I will never step foot in this place again. After several years of amazing service with apparently a new Dr. we have decided that leave this clinic. Apparently they have gone through some changes and not for the better brand new doctor to the facility not sure it wasn’t a vet tech. She was awful and unprofessional period. They not only mis diagnosed my dog and I know this because I have since then went to a real vet and got a proper diagnosis. The worst part Casey the office manager was not only rude and unprofessional but she made it clear she was best friends with the owner slash doctor laughed in my wife’s face and then she made it clear she would get with her dri nd not doctor long before my wife could. Unbelievable. They wouldn’t own anything even after 5 years of loyal service,. The best part is we have moved on to Paramount vet they are amazing to say the least and they don’t have a nasty dis office manager putting it lightly I know I met her she’s amazing sonic ur looking for a quality pet Dr. go to Paramount

I boarded Punkin for a couple of days and she was perfect, they treated her very well, let her snooze in the sun and she came back happy with a nice new bandana. I cannot say enough good things about River City. They have taken care of Punkin in day care and it is such a relief to be able to take her and be gone for a few hours without leaving her in the crate. The staff are really dedicated by taking a personal interest in their clients. Their prices are very reasonable, for all the care they give. The first time I took my chocolate lab puppy to River City Vet I was very impressed. This was my first puppy so I really didn't know what to expect and went to my first appointment full of questions. The vet was so informative and even took time out of their schedule to look up and print off additional information about some questions I had. Our dog just had surgery to remove a benign lump on her stomach, as well as get spayed, and she was seen by Dr. Cuthbert. We were extremely pleased in her bedside manner with us and our pup, as well as from her vet techs. The staff at the reception counter are also very efficient and helpful. Pricing is also very reasonable and we love that they are open 7 days a week with evening hours as well. Their staff also called us to check in on Lux’s recovery progress and to make sure everything is going smooth. I highly recommend River City Vet Hospital and Dr. Cuthbert!

Had an unexpected choking emergency with my 13 yo dog. I called RVC on my way and they were ready and meeting me in the parking lot with their doctor rushing to the same area. Fortunately whatever it was cleared just before we arrived. The doctor checked him out anyway to make sure he was recovering OK and everyone was so kind in understanding my own panic.

A bit pricey for a vetrinarian but was well worth it. Waiting room is great they have a play area to entertain the kids while our dog got all his shots and a check up. I love how they handle the animals and my favorite part is they are a no far practice. My dog felt as comfortable as he could at their office and didn't bark once at the vet or the staff. They really seem to know what they are doing. They even have plan bundles for services that our dog needed. It made it much easier to take my kids and dog to the vet on spring break which would normally be a bad experience for us but was a wonderful experience for us. We will be going back for all our vetrinary care in the future as well.

I've taken my pup here for about 3 years with no issues up until recently. I scheduled for Savannah to get groomed over the phone with no problems. When I showed up to my appointment (it's a 30 minute drive for me, and I have a 2 year old who I had to skip nap time because of this appointment) I was informed one of her shots was not up to date and so she couldn't be seen. When I asked why no one told me when I scheduled the appointment all I got was a sorry and a "well we can schedule her to get her shots...that will be another $65 for the visit plus the price of shots on top of that". No I'm not going to spend MORE money. I get she had to have her shots, that's not the issue. But had I been informed prior when my appointment was set up, I wouldn't have made the appointment and wasted an hour of my time driving. I would have scheduled her an appointment to get her shots. Now, I'll be taking her elsewhere to get both done.

The vet clinic is a rip off. They charge the highest prices possible for each service. I got a dental cleaning estimate for my cat at $1,000. That is an absolute scam! It should only be a few hundred at most. And of course she says they might have to pull a tooth while they are in there and that would be extra, but they can’t tell until they are cleaning his mouth. I found the vet to be rude when I asked about prices or why certain things were necessary. The vet took up an “I am smarter than you/better than you,” attitude. I feel bad for all the people that just naively take their animals here and pay these high prices. I’ve had my cat’s teeth looked at by a previous vet and he said they were just fine. Just another way for me to verify this scammy place. I suggest going somewhere they truly care about your pet and not your pocket book. It is a risk for your pet to be put under for an unreasonable amount of money. They are also one of the only vet clinics I called that would not give prices over the phone..their excuse was that, “prices change all the time...” Right...super scammy place.

I will no longer recommend this location and will be looking for a new resort that cares more. This used to be my go to location for vet care, exercise, boarding and grooming. However their pet resort just cannot be trusted. My poor dog has come home multiple times with very torn paws and their staff failed to monitor as instructed. I know others with torn feet too. Management’s response is that they haven’t been able to resolve the environment and that my dog just isn’t a good fit for them. Sad accountability, especially when they tell you the next day when you call concerned that they noticed something during his bath but didn’t relay that to the owner. Management seemed more frustrated by an upset owner rather than the health of my dog. Please don’t take any dogs here that can’t run on concrete or that require observation.

We are very sad that we have had Dr Harsch take care of our boston since her very first vet visit. Ginger was 9 yrs old and we lost her on 3/3, she had been a "regular" at West Vet for all those years. Two major surgeries totaling more than $5k there and more visits and lab work than anyone can imagine for seizures since Ginger was 5 yrs old. We trusted and respected the doctor greatly and especially love the vet techs, Heather and Kendra and many more over the years. The techs loved Ginger. But on 3/1 Ginger went to West Vet at 1am for cluster seizures, we notified Dr. H the following day when River City opened to let him know and see if we needed to transfer her to his care. We could not due to RC not having the IV meds she needed in stock and so we left her at West Vet and lost her 24 hours later. We are devastated as she was fine the day before the clusters started and we never got any good communication from West Vet. They were swamped with emergencies and Ginger was just a number, another dog sitting in a cage. By the time we got there to pick up she had gone downhill. We hoped that she was going to come out ok this time - like she had done countless times prior. The reason I am posting review is for all the years we had RC care for our family member, we never heard from them after my initial call to let Dr know she was at West Vet and to ask about transfer care. No call back to check on her, no email, no correspondence of any kind. It is disheartening when you have been customers/patients/felt like family for so many years and had so much respect for their care. All of us are just terribly sad. Now feel like we need to look for another vet to care for our baby we have left, Ginger's sister. :(

Love this practice! I took my Basset Hound in to urgent care for what seemed like a UTI along with a lot of pain, anxiety, and vomiting. Dr Puckett ran tests on him and said she thought he was having a diabetic crisis. She gave him everything he needed and he was feeling much better until he had another crisis and I took him into urgent care again. She suggested we hospitalize him at WestVet, which we did thank god, because he was on his death bed. Both Dr. Puckett and WestVet saved my dog's life! He is stabilized and extremely healthy now. We were so impressed by the urgent care that we decided to make this our primary vet. We mainly see Dr. Cuthbert and she is AMAZING. Both vets that we have seen here have warm personalities and actually really care about pets. They both have sat on the floor with my dog, which definitely says they are dog people! The vet techs are the same. Everyone so far has been amazing. I really appreciate that they break down costs for you, give you an estimate and alternate options prior to doing anything to your dog. This practice is about thirty minutes from my house, but after trying out almost every vet in Boise, I can say it is definitely worth the drive. We are forever grateful to Dr. Puckett and Dr. Cuthbert for saving our Jameson!

However I am honestly impressed and deeply moved by the level of professionalism and compassion that come from the veterinarians and staff. The facility is clean and the owner is always striving for improvement and openly solicits feedback. The Doctors are the absolute best, they lose sleep over tough cases and look out for the patients' best interests while taking into account each client's wishes and concerns. A full service pet resort, pet grooming, and excellent quality medicine. Used to like this place for boarding before they jacked their overnight rates from $25 to $45! They give some BS about all the extra "services" they add on. One on one time being one of them; please other facilities charge $3/day for that service. And all my dog wants is a place to eat and sleep, she's really old. If you want to add on services make it optional! It really is too bad, we won't be back, and they used to be super convenient for us!

I was worried about my poochie. Unfortunately, none of the veterinarian offices I callled in my town, including the one we always take her to, could see her right away. However, one receptionist recommend River City. She said that they are a little less expensive than the other urgent care facilities, and I was pleased to find out that they were much closer to me than another urgent care, which had been recommended to me previously. I was impressed by the overall atmosphere of River City, and the staff was very friendly. They got my dog in fairly quickly, even though it was obvious that they were busy. She responded well to the treament, and we both got a good night sleep. River City even did a follow-up call the next day, to check on how my poochie was doing. I can not say enough about how much I appreciate that level of customer service.

River City is the best! As a new pet owners and new Boise/Idaho residents my husband and I were lost on so many things when it came to our dog. We adopted her from the humane society about 5 months ago and over those few months had a list of questions. We came in because she had yellow-green ooze coming from her eye. This was taken care of in a quick appointment and were able to come back the next week for her shots (with the visit being FREE) and only paid for her shots. But during this visit we had a million questions: We didn't know how often she should come in to the vet, what we should be concerned about, heartworm, ticks, shots, check-ups, if we were feeding her enough, who the good trainers were in the area, how to register her, etc. All of our questions were answered AND Dr. Kelly Miller was FANTASTIC! She was super patient and informative when it came to answering. We never felt rushed or that we were taking up to much of her time. I even came in with the dreaded list of questions. River City also offers Wellness plans. While it's not doggy insurance it covers a milieu of things that may come over the year including shots, heartworm, some day boarding, and other things at an affordable price. All in all I am SUPER glad that we were able to find River City vet.

I recently moved to Meridian and needed a closer vet for my boxer. I looked at River City's website and like what I saw. Because Axel had previously had a couple of minor illnesses, I called River City to see if I could get him in the system even though he had not yet visited them. The receptionist was great and helped me get his information set up so that it would be there if he needed to be seen by a vet before any scheduled vaccination updates. Luckily, he didn't, but I really appreciated their willingness to get that set up for me. In late September, Axel needed a vaccination booster and I was able to make an appointment using the new app at a very convenient time for me. Axel thoroughly enjoyed his visit (well, maybe not the temperature taking and the shot) and everybody was so friendly and willing to take the time to give Axel some love and answer any questions I had. River City is a wonderful facility and it makes me feel good that Axel will get such great care from the doctors and staff. I look forward to many years with River City helping me keep Axel healthy and happy.

I was in urgent care and felt that the room I was in was not very clean. Every tool, device, and item that was used on my pet was used without gloves and sat on the surface of the counter which was covered in animal hair that was not my pets. I could hear the staff chatting obnoxiously behind the doors and paid an outrageous price for simple services. I know this is not a human medical facility, and with the price tag that your charging people you’d think you could Clorox wipe the counters store your medical tools in a sanitary way. The staff was a bit disorganized and there were several different people involved in our process. Having less hands in deck a more one on one contact would be preferable especially in situations where the outcome is poor for your pet. I am greatful for the urgent care hours but definitely plan to establish care for my pet elsewhere.

They walked us through the process of determining his injuries, allowed us the time we need to come to terms with his condition, and supported us emotionally as we made the difficult decision to let him go. Worst experience I have ever had at a vet. We were in 4 months prior for a normal exam and shots. My dog needed a booster shot, made an appointment, got the shot. When I went to pay they had additionally charged me for another exam. She said that this is their policy to give an exam (and charge for it) for shots no matter how recently we have seen the animal. On my first visit they (tried to) pressure us into buying one of their "packages". When I went in for this booster shot they tried again to sell us a package. It is clear all they want to do is sell $$$ and to charge for services that other vets do not. I will never go back!

New Customer Service is not very good. I called to make an appointment for my puppy telling them what I wanted and what vaccinations he already had. I received 2 emails. One stating that my puppy was overdue on his vaccinations (offensive to us) and another email stating what they were going to give him.....things I didn't want my puppy to have! River City Vet is outstanding! A few years ago our dog was sick and needed a surgery. We had a set amount that we could spend and no more. Once they started with the surgery they realized it would cost more than they thought. We couldn't pay what was required but instead of putting our young dog down, they finished the surgery and did all the post-op checkups for what we told them we could afford at the outset. We now have two new dogs and we will never go anywhere else for our veterinary care. They truly have the best interest of the animals in mind and work hard to build good, trusting relationships with the pet owners. They have certainly earned our business for life!!!
