Dr. Gerber is a phenomenal vet. She is extremely thorough and explains everything simply. It's pricey (that's any vet in Manhattan) but I'm extremely happy I found this vet.

The staff is really kind but the vet that was responsible to look at my dog on saturday was rude in his explanation when I was asking simple questions about a medication he prescribed. I payed $100 dollars for a consultation I expect some patience if I don't understand why he is prescribing something that I don't understand to my dog.

We went here for emergency visits only, not standard care. I came in twice: once at 4am and another at 8pm. Both times a nurse saw them in 10 minutes, then we had to wait 30 - 40 minutes till the vet could see us. Our dog ended up needing emergency surgery to removed plastic lodged in his GI. They called us before and after surgery (which happened around 1am) to keep us up to date on his recovery. All three Vets that we talked to were really proactive and discerning.

Effective and efficient.

Dr. Cavanaugh was patient and fantastic for getting help quickly. Staff was kind and the facilities seemed clean. Conveniently located next to the 72nd street Q line elevators.

They were really quick to help my little guy in his emergency. They cared for him and did their best to make him comfortable. The veterinarian was very thorough and explained everything (thank you Dr. Jackson) and the nurses were just sweethearts and did everything to comfort my little boy. Calling in was a pleasure too, just keep in mind that you might need to hold on the line for a few minutes because they do handle pet emergencies and they really do prioritize emergency cases.

Had to bring my cat here as an emergency and they were quick to take him and care for him. The doctors and staff were honest and very caring. A few months later had another emergency with my cat and had to take him to a 24hr emergency. Sadly my kitty didn't make it but the veterinarian from Park East called to say his condolences and reassure us we did everything we could.

I live in Brooklyn and had used Park East a few times because of word of mouth from others. They are a little pricer than where I live locally, but the quality of service cannot be matched. My 10 y/o Bull Terrier became sick on a Thursday night, not eating and vommiting. On Friday my local Vet (who ran his blood and discovered elevated liver levels) recommended for him to go to a specialized place with an ICU for fluids and an Ultra Sound tech. So I brought him to this fancy and well equiped hospital on the upper west side. Hey stayed over night for treatments/ultrasound and the next day they stated they found masses on his spleen and adrenal gland. They stated I could either a) put him down as it is most likely cancer or b) $5k exploratory surgery with minimal sucess rate. I asked if they treated him with antibiotics and they stated no because they stated it was not an infection in their opnion. I opted for my own created option c) take him home and think about it. They asked me to sign all documents stating they warned me the dog was going to pass if I took him home and what signs to watch out for. The next day I brought him to Park East and to see Dr. Kennedy. My opinion after hearing the the Vet's diagnosis the day before was to have him put down (after all vets are the professionals and have specialized training in treating animals which I do not). Dr. Kennedy examined him briefly then left the room to call the vets who treated him yesterday and discuss the case with her colleagues at Park East. She stated that she and her collegues disagreed with the hospital's diganosis and wanted to try one last thing to rule out before I make the ULTIMATE decision. It required the little guy to stay inhouse on an IV and receive lots of antibiotics. Dr. Kennedy said that all the pieces did not fit (liver levels/symptoms) to conclude that my dog had cancer and would not feel right to euthenise without giving me the right to see if he could be helped. It would not hurt to try in my opnion. After 5 days of IV and heavy meds (plus another inhouse sonogram which contradicted the other HOSPITAL results as there was no adrenal mass), my little guy was discharged. His liver levels were almost normal. It turned out that my dog had a serious liver infection. I was given constant updates by the staff and the Dr as to his status the entire stay and a detailed discharge plan when leaving (new diet, medication, etc). As I would arrive daily to visit, the entire staff knew my little guy and each Dr. on staff that day came over and discussed with me my dog's progress. Not a day goes by when I think about the decison I almost had to make. Thank you Park East and Dr. Kennedy for letting me know it was not time for that decision. My little guy (at 10) is now running around and playing at home. The staff, from the front desk, to the excellent techs, to the fantastic Drs, are all wonderful. As they are located on the upper east side of Manhatten, price was a little concern, but there was nothing hidden from me. I knew what to expect every step of the way and never once felt pressured. In the end it was not that bad and when considering what I was charged on the Upper Westside for 1 night it was a BARGIN! But in the end, I went home with my dog. Something that I never thought would happen. Update: 11/09 - My dog has had a follow-up ultrasound/sonogram and nothing has "grown". In addition he has had two full blood tests over the past 2 months and all levels are normal! It is just such a good feeling everyday that I gave myself some time to think and brought him somewhere else. Not that the other place was bad, but they diagnosed him according to their outlined patterns. It just so happens that Park East uses a different approach which in the end saved a dog's life. :)

My friend had a bad experience at another vet so she left them. After interviewing 10 places, she chose Park East. So when I rescued my fur baby, I knew to go straight to Park East. It doesn't hurt that it's two blocks from where I live. Lolly had a bladder infection soon after I got her. I took her to Park East and they asked if I wanted to pay for an expensive test that would confirm it was a bladder infection. Since I didn't know her history, I opted to do it. But I appreciated the fact that they gave me an option. They aren't in it to make as much money off of you as they can. They're in it because they are true dog lovers who want to keep your pet healthy. If your dog isn't worth spending a few extra dollars, I don't know who is.

They are just the best! I have been taken care of by PARK EAST, specifically Dr. Leah Jackson since I was a baby. I have also seen numerous other vets at the practice when she isn’t available and I adore them all! They all take such wonderful care of me and make me feel comfortable! The entire staff at park east! ALL ARE PHENOMENAL! I love the girls at the front desk they all know me by name...and mommy makes us stop in often since we live right by them or even I they see me on the street they say “hi alfie”. They are all so nice even when I’m trying to run out the door! The vet techs as well! Every part of their staff that makes this team run so smoothly is five stars to me and my mom! For twelve+ years now they have loved me! Thank you Dr. Jackson, all the vets, vet techs, front desk staff and anyone I may have forgotten! You always make me feel so comfortable and I always look forward(shh don’t tell my mom) to coming to see you!

They’re just amazing. We took our dog here when we first moved to Manhattan and they know her and her little brother by name, they’re always greeted with pets and treats. If we ever move, they’ve set the bar so so so high for the next vet.

I see Dr Chelsea Anderson and she is great. She genuinely loves animals and it shows through. If I have a problem, I just call and she always gets back to me no matter how busy she is. That’s exactly what you want for your fur baby.... right? Also, special shout out to Jeniffer Stevens. If you need something done, she’s your girl.
