We absolutely LOVE the vet and staff out there!! They are so good with my dog. I feel very comfortable boarding my dog with these guys. I would definitely recommend them.
These guys are AWESOME!! They do an amazing job at whatever they do. They're very friendly, and it's the first vet that my dogs don't freak out at. They truly love their jobs and truly love the animals.
They are all so helpful and awesome with the animals. They go out of their way for our pets.
We’ve been going here since they first opened, we’ve taken horses, donkeys, goats asked about a goose with injured wing and our dog. They’re always wonderful, caring, and informative! I wouldn’t go anywhere else!!
Took care of my fur baby when he was sick and is very knowledgeable
The entire staff here is fantastic. They are all very concerned for whichever extended-family pet we bring in. After bringing in my mother-in-law's little pooch in for a serious issue, I had to go back the next day to get the medications we left on the counter. When I got there everyone was asking for an update about the patients condition... fortunately it was good news. They helped get the little bundle of energy back to normal within a week thanks to their care and attention to our little Punkin.
I had my pups vaccines updated and also had her groomed. They were all so friendly and and they took great care of my baby girl..
The are one of the best vets around ! There prices is good too
Kennelled Janie and she did very well. Great place.
The staff here is extremely friendly and professional! They treat my dog with such kindness and patience. I highly recommend them.
Very affordable and great vets. There's also a tech there that's smoking hot! Always a plus!
Very sad event for me. Took my little yorkie puppy Snickers there and he passed away. They were very attentive and did the best they could but I still cried for days.
These guys are awesome! Great “bedside manner” reasonable prices and have always been available, even during off hours, to look at our dog in an emergency. The kennel service is great as well.
Friendly and always helpful
Front desk staff is very friendly and considerate. Without prior arrangements, they were able to accommodate a last minute fecal float. The veterinarian even took the time to verify I had the medication and treatment plan needed. If you are in need of a small ruminate veterinarian, this place provides veterinarian care for them.
Love the staff! My puppy got kennel cough 6 days after visiting, possibly from his 6 weeks puppy shots? :( he was removed from the litter for 10days with vaporizer of essential oils and warm honey. He bounced back perfect! Bad experience with my little guy but great staff.
We brought our very sick and elderly cat here, the dr and staff helped us through some difficult decisions with compassion and professionalism. Thank you so much!
These guys were great! Beautiful facilities, and they did an excellent job doing a pre purchase exam on my horse! Thanks guys for helping me ensure my new horse is healthy in every way!
I will take my four children nowhere else. Dr. George is great to work with
I started going here when I got my new puppy and now I use them for both of my dogs. Everyone is so nice and their boarding services are awesome. Everything I've gone to them for has been reasonably priced also. I would definitely recommend them for others.
We have two cat declaws here, and both times the staff have been friendly and knowledgeable. This last visit they were willing to adjust our bill in our favor. And every time I have called I have been warmly received. Thank you Mountain River for looking after our animal!
Took good care of my pet.
Great folks to work with !!!!
We had an emergency and went there on a Saturday ( come to find out we were at the wrong one) and an other gentlemen there was very rude to us. We were already upset and in a panic about a dog and he made us feel like we were a inconvenience and basically sent us out the door. well lucky for him we will no longer be a inconvenience as we found a great new vet in Rigby who took us in no problems asked and was really awesome and compassionate.
Will never go to another vet, they are THE kindest and most caring group of individuals!!
Been my vet for years, they also have an excellent boarding/daycare kennel and groomer. They are very busy but take the time to go beyond and answer all questions and follow up the next day with a call to see how your pet is doing after their visit.
They are so nice and caring. And don't charge your whole paycheck
Our cats already feeling better!
Our family dog, Irish, was hit by a car on a Saturday, no question, they said to bring her in for emergency care. She is healthy and happy because of these animal lovers!
Great Veteranian Clinic George and his staff are helpful and caring.
Took a lady's cat (that I used to work for)
Staff has always been helpful and the doctors do a great job explaining what the problem might be. Yes, just like any medical facility, there can be waits, but would u rather the Dr rush the patient or make the correct dignosis? I've brought dog, horse, and cattle here. All are healthy.
Each and every animal is like their own. Having a kennel next door is very reassuring also.
They were very caring to our kitten.
Best place to take care of your fur babies by far...
Professional and friendly
Very friendly. Good help for my babies
Very nice veteran who took the time to answer all my questions about my puppy.
Took my puggle there for a problem he was having with walking. They took X-rays and diagnosed him with disc disease in his spine. He was given a round of steroids and nsads for a week. He got better for a day and then got worse. We took him back and they kept him there for 4 days on a high dose of steroids and anti inflammatory. I brought him home on Friday afternoon and by 7 pm that evening he was vomiting blood and had explosive bloody diarrhea. The on call vet said it was most likely due to the steroids and to bring him in on Monday. The vomiting and diarrhea lasted approximately 24 hours but we did go back to them on Monday. They prescribed Tramadol and made a referral to Sun Valley Animal clinic for surgery. He seemed to be getting worse by the day. A week went by then my dog started having blood in his urine. Again back to the vet and this time they said kidney stones. He was given a round of antibiotics. Within 5 days my dog was back to his old self. A week later back to being weak and unable to stand. During this 2 month ordeal not once did they do any lab work and I trusted them way too much. On March 1 at 3:42am my dog died in my bed with me. 3 days later the Sun Valley Animal Clinic called to make his appointment. When I told them my dog had passed they said "Dogs don't die from disc disease, what else was wrong with your dog?" I knew then I made a mistake. I should have gotten a second opinion.
My mom's dog got really sick and she didn't know why. We called a few different places to price a vet visit, and Mountain River gave us the best value by far. They saved my mom's dog.
I've taken my dogs here since Dr kinghorn retired they treat me and my dogs great. Lost my Missie dog this trip I sure miss her
One of the cleanest boarding places that I have put my dog and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They answered all the questions I had for them.
I love this Veterinary Clinic they have brought in additional vets because their service is wonderful they also work with the local shelters to help people get pet spayed neutered.
Great vets
Friendly staff and terrific service.
There doctors are willing to answer your questions about pets. And they are overall firendly.
So disappointed in this place. Took dog in to get ears checked and the inexperienced vet and his rude assistant traumatized my dog by needing to sedate him. When there was no ear problems I asked to have his teeth checked to see if that was the problem and the vet refused. He's been acting aggressive every since I brought him home. Talked to the owner and he was super nice about it, but wanted me to bring him back in to get used to them again. That won't happen. I'm sure my dog would be even more traumatized. I will have to fine a new vet now which is unfortunate because I really liked them until this happened.
Very caring staff that take their work serious and their love of animals is very apparent.
I recently had to take my cat in for a full amputation. He went in on a Tuesday and we picked him up to take him home on a Wednesday. On Friday I got home from school and saw that my cat ripped open his stitches about 2 inches long...I called the vet and Dr. Waddups answered the phone. I asked him what I should do and if I could get him in that night to get him stitched back up. He told me to keep him in a clean place and to call him at 8 in the morning to arrange someone to come down and stitch him up. I was a little uneasy about it but I figured if he wasn't to worried about it that he would be fine til the morning. I hung up with him and walked back into the room where my cat was and seen that he torn the rest of his stitches out and now he was completely open. I called Dr. Waddups back and told him what happened and asked if there was anyway we could get him in tonight. He said "I guess". Once we got to the vet we waited there for about 15 minutes for him to come then when he finally did he was very short with us and he made sure we knew he didn't want to be there. He was not nice and didnt seem to care about the situation. He was walking to the front and staying there for several minutes, eating popcorn, before he came back and told the nurse what to do. Overall, it was not a good night for us. I felt very mistreated as a customer. This was not the first time I have felt this way with Dr. Waddups. I have had him before with my other animals and do not like how he treats me so I do not schedule with him and make sure he is not my Dr. I highly recommend Dr. Olaveson or Dr. Clark. Those two are amazing doctors and they are the ones that make you feel welcomed and that your animal is going to be taken care of! Never once have I felt this way with Dr. Waddups. I would not recommend scheduling with him.
Great people
Thanks
If you need great doctors for your "pet" children the doctors and staff are the best around. They REALLY care about your pet! :-)
Very nice ppl, give great care and attention to our little ones
Very caring. Best of all they are equipped to almost anything.
The vets and vet techs all took wonderful care of my girl and made sure that we all felt comfortable with everything.
Dr Waddoups and staff ,thanks again for sewing up my Penny bug from her coyote attack. Excellent job!!!
Love everything about them, I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else.
Great people very caring
Incredible people!!!! Thank you
Reasonable prices and they genuinely care about your animals.
Awsome people. We had an emergancy with our kitten. We got her to them as fast as we could. They rushed her to the back and did all they could the Doctors kept us updated and worked tirelessly to try to save her. Saddly she did not respond to treatment. A few days later we recived a card in the mail along with her paw print in ink on it. It was this thoughtful gesture that has us coming back for all our animals needs.
Excellent clinic. Knowledgeable, experienced, caring, and reasonably priced. Jefferson County is blessed to have such a great veterinary service!
My corgi needed surgery, and this place was the only one in our area to be skilled enough to do it. Kudos@
Prices good. Not impressed seeing a different vet every time. The last one didn't check my dogs very thorough.
They take good care of our dogs
Dr. Waddup and staff are amazing
The staff who work there are amazing! The area that they work in is always clean due to diligent staff. The animals are happy and always willing to be worked on. The building looks amazing inside and out. It is an amazing place that you should go to.
I just love this place and their staff!
Great service
I only gave it three because I have a good vet and reading through the reviews it seemed like it was a good cheap facility. I waited pretty long, there were lots of other animals there so i understood that. Staff in the front was the BEST! Vet came in looked at my dog for 15 seconds, told me what he would give my dog and walked out. The bill for flea medicine was outrageously expensive. My vet is the best and i spend half of what I just spent on this vet bill. If your a student don't go here, save your money.
They gave us credit for our dogs shots and pulling some teeth for our cat really nice and caring people. They care more about the animals than if you can pay it all right now.
Good people, good with dogs. They have an awesome groomer, Mandy at Happy Tails.
So helpful and caring.
Dr. Olaveson was great. He came in on a Sunday to help when our dog was vomiting blood, was very caring and helpful. Great place.
During a difficult recovery from surgery and unexpected passing they not only didn't run up the bill but also was way less than expected #Blessthem
The staff is always so friendly and their main concern is you and the animal. As far as I'm concerned Dr Olaveson is one of the best veterinarians in the area.
I got to help out and everyone is so nice.
Great friendly people who live your animals just like you do.
I love this place and all that work there. Very friendly and professionaly, they all love and care for each and every client.
Danielle always makes sure we are taken care of and my pupperinoes absolutely love her! Wouldn't go to a different vet!
These guys are amazing!!! Staff is friendly and caring.
They overschedule patients and are too busy to be thorough and listen to concerns. I went here for few years, but after last time I won't be back.
always good
Good people, vets ate very knowledgeable and kind.
I really appreciate this office as they saved my Great Dane puppy's life. I'd highly recommend this clinic if you need anything done for your animal/s.
My dogs favorite place to stay
Anytime I have to be out of town I always board my doberman here and they take great care of her. If she needs her nails trimmed or any of her shots, or just a physical check up they always do whatever is needed to make sure she stays healthy and happy. They must have extra vitamins in their feed because she just glows in the dark when I pick her up haha
Very happy with my visit here. I have a unique breed cat and was concerned about finding a veterinarian familiar with her specific issues. They were very compassionate and got her in the next day. The facility was clean and staff was friendly. We only waited maybe 4 minutes before we were called to a room and we were seen by the vet immediately.
Amazing people very helpful
We had an emergency with our dog last night, and at around 4 pm they agreed to take us as a walk in, even though they closed at 5. We got there, they got us right in and even stayed late to get our poor pup stitched up. Best vet I’ve dealt with in a long time. They were great with our dog and my son (it was his dog that got hurt).
Wouldn't take my dog anywhere else
I took my horse here to get her teeth floated a while ago they did an excellent job doing her teeth, however they did drug her up a bit fast.
Approaching the one year anniversary of our dog’s death; for all those who like to be informed-here is our story. We placed our trust in Dr. George for several years regarding the care of our pet. Last December, within 72 hours of our bringing our dog in for a sudden onset illness, the dog was euthanized, because he became paralyzed during his stay for treatment. Dr. W. initially treated the animal, when the dog was brought in for care on Wednesday December 27, but he never communicated with us on the dog’s status during the dog's stay, despite phone calls from us requesting information. By Friday we were still waiting for an update, never got one. We found out after the fact that the dog was in such severe pain, that an epidural block had been administered on Friday evening, and that the dog had been rapidly deteriorating prior to this. By Saturday morning December 30, 2017, we were informed by Dr. George that he was on his way to the office, because our dog was no longer walking, nor could he stand up. As a healthcare professional, this sort of event should have been investigated. Going from standing, to total paralysis, and then requiring euthanasia within 72 hours- one can draw some fairly negative conclusions. Oops. Be careful who you trust, and be careful when a veterinarian engages in ineffective discourse when an experienced healthcare professional tries to discuss practice standards, treatment rendered, etc. Imagine you bring a loved one in to trusted family physician. You are then told you can only see the partner, Dr. W., so you bring your loved one in anyway, because something isn’t right. You discuss the minimal offered options, and “what is probably wrong.” You leave your loved one in the care of Dr. W. Then you never receive a phone call, you have to call in, you are told by staff someone will give you a call, “that your loved one isn’t doing well. “ You wait for the call, you call again. You are told that Dr. W., is off, but Dr. G. will give you a call later. Still, there wasn’t any call. By the third day, you call, and Dr. G., is on his way to the “hospital”, because something is wrong, and then asks did Dr. W. ever discuss a referral consult for specialty care regarding the problem? You inform Dr. G. that there were no real choices given, no referral options. He then ends the conversation, with “You had better come in.” By the time you arrive, you see a totally paralyzed loved one lying on the floor-unable to move. Is this something that should have happened? No. A referral option should have been offered due to the questionable admitting diagnosis Would it have been something that would have been investigated if it involved a human patient? Yes. We placed our trust where it shouldn’t have been placed, and are living with the consequences.
Very poor job performed on a pre-purchase exam. We drove for 8 hrs to look at a horse that was given an clean exam and when we saw him in person he had a very apparent club foot. Many obvious issues missed on this horse. Needless to say we drove home with an empty trailer.
Honestly the best place to take your dogs. Danyel is so patient and caring with my dogs. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I think my dogs like her more than me when they see her.
My husband and I just took our two puppies to get their shots done and neutered. They were both very anxious and nervous to be there but the staff and vet were so patient and caring towards our pups and made them feel safe and loved. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone looking for a vet!!
They go the extra mile !!!! Sampson and Tuff love the staff...
Amazing staff and place for your fur babies
Great service. They took the time to ask questions to make sure they didn't miss any possible needs for my dog and provided me with helpful information.
LOVE mountain river! They are so patient and kind with my dog who HATES being handed by anyone but mom and dad. One of my favorite things is that they call the day after every appt to check on her. I have no reason to take my animals anywhere else
Caring people , clean facility, good prices
Very compassionate and caring my dog was hit by a car and they helped him move along to the other side. Sent a sympathy card very nice people
We brought our sick dog in, got an appointment quickly and front staff was very nice. Tech who checked his temp also nice. Veterinarian.... not friendly, didn’t really have any interest in our dog, did not touch the dog, sat 4 feet away. I Told the tech, our dog had blood in his urine, heard the tech tell the vet that... then I repeated to the vet that our dog had blood in his urine and showed him a picture of the red urine in the snow... basically ignored. First thing the vet did was the more expensive tests like an X-ray... why not start with a urine test? Since I told them he had blood in his urine??? Ok so vet says he didn’t have pancreatitis, but he had some sort of infection with the fever... he put him on metronidazole... which typically treats pancreatitis and I’ve never heard of it treating any type or urinary infection... so anyway, Bill was $300, blood in urine never addressed. Wrong medication was prescribed, now having to start over and finally getting a urine test, and finding that lo and behold he has a UTI...I don’t understand ignoring an owner who even shows you a picture of the bloody urine....this vet isn’t friendly, doesn’t seem to even like dogs. Never touched our dog or interacted with him at all. And then changed us $300 for an misdiagnosis.
We have had 2 dogs that we've taken to Mountain River over the past couple of years. They are always prompt, courteous, and very professional. They seem to really care about me and the wellness of my dogs. The vets and staff seem to want to help us with the least amount of cost yet they do all they can to treat my dog and keep him healthy. They are very honest and are genuinely concerned. After a recent visit they called the next day to check on my dog. I highly recommend!
