I really like the vet and staff seem nice. The prices are very reasonable. My only complaint is the atmosphere the day I visited with my new puppy. Things seemed a little hectic in the office and the staff kept running by from different rooms even though it is a small space, which made my pup very nervous. She was a little better once we got in the exam room away from the lobby but still took a good hour to get her completely calm afterwards. I'm hoping this first experience won't effect her other visits and that this isn't a typical experience in the office.

What a great place I take my 1 1/2 yr old lab Oakley there and she has allergies they are so great to work with. She has chronic ear infections because of her allergies and they are so quick to get her in when she has a flare up i cant take care of. Very responsive and not pushy for treatment suggestions. Will continue to go here for all pets to come!

Great vet. Nice to know they actually care about your pet. I read other reviews and am disgusted at the nerve of people. Being a pet professional myself, sometimes you can't tell someone very much about their puppy and also not many places had out free stuff just cause you spent a lot of money. You pay for what you get. That's what I like about Dr. Hall. NO BS!!! He'll tell you straight up front. No beating around the bush. Just gets the job done and that's what everyone goes there for. He's a busy vet for a reason. If he waisted his time telling you Fluffy is too fluffy then he wouldn't be able to get you in as quick as he does. They have always got us in quickly and provided us with helpful information reguarding actually needs of the pet. If you want sugar coated BS, this may not be the place for you.

VERY ANGRY! My 80 year old aunt took her dog into this place to have her teeth cleaned. The service was supposed to be around $100 dollars. My aunt came back to pick her dog up and they informed her that the vet had pulled FOURTEEN of her dog's teeth... and that the bill was now going to be $1000. They did this WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. Did not call or consult with my aunt at all before going ahead and my aunt was shocked. When my aunt explained she couldn't pay it and that she didn't ask for that service... they convinced her to just split the bill into three payments. She should not have been charged at all for a service she didn't ask for or authorize!!!! Absolutely disgusted that this place would take advantage of an elder in this way. Where's your morals MVH?

I would highly recommend going here. They know what they are talking about and just wants what is best for the animals. I take both my dogs here. The price are not high at all they are very low compared to other places. They even work with you if your pet has an emergency and cost more than you have.

EXTREMELY POOR WAYS Had and emergeny I took my dog in there last night around 1700 My dog ran in my hitch on my pick up and was sliced Staff came out and looked at my dog Then Doc the so called veterinarian came out These are his quoted words "I am really busy with appointments your dog will make it to your vet" What the heck kind of vet do we have in Middleton I won't take my animals there if they were dying MIDDLETON DOES NOT DESERVE A VET LIKE THAT!!!

We have been visiting the Middleton, ID area traveling with our beloved Benz, yellow lab 13 years old. He had congestive heart failure so we knew it was a matter of time before we would have to make that hard decision. Benz's health had deteriorated over the weekend and it was time for him to make the journey over the rainbow bridge on Monday 5/4/15. The entire staff was caring and compassionate during this difficult time. I would use the Middleton Vet Hospital again and absolutely recommend them to others. They answered our questions and walked us through the process, putting our minds at ease. K.McCarn

Staff was snippy, rude, and uneducated. It's unfortunate that this is the only vet in Middleton...I'm honestly surprised that these guys are still in business as they're uneducated and understaffed! Would never recommend this vet to anyone! I'll drive the extra few miles to go elsewhere!

My review: EXTREMELY POOR!!! Doesn't even deserve one star. I took my dog in to have his ears examined. My dog is a 10 lb chihuahua mix. I warned the vet tech that he might nip and that it would be a good idea for him to be muzzled. She gave me a muzzle to put on my dog, and so, I put the muzzle on my dog. Shortly after, Dr. R. Kelly Hall came in to begin the examination. My dog was NEVER examined by Dr.R. Kelly Hall in the past, so Dr. R. Kelly Hall did not know anything about my dog, other than he "might" bite because I TOLD him that, knowing that my little chihuahua mix experiences extreme anxiety whenever he's in a vet office. There was a brief conversation about how my dog might bite. (Note the key word "might" and also note that I WARNED the vet and the vet tech!) Then, immediately afterwards and within 5 minutes of Dr. R.Kelly Hall entering the room, he grabs my dog in an aggressive manner, picking him up and turning him upside down. When this happened, Dr. R. Kelly Hall didn't give me any warning towards what he was about to do, nor did my dog do anything to him that would've have caused him to pick my dog up in such an aggressive manner. Prior to this happening, my dog was standing on the table, muzzled, trembling. He was NOT trying to bite anyone. After Dr. R. Kelly Hall aggressively picked up my dog and turned him upside down, he told me: "This is how you handle a dog like this." and then proceeded to quickly slam my dog onto the table so that my dog landed on his back. I was shocked! I could not believe what I just witnessed; and of course, my dog was even more freaked out than before. Dr. R. Kelly Hall then went on and on, talking to me as if I was paying him for training lessons about handling dogs by using dominant actions. I didn't take my dog to Dr. R. Kelly Hall for training lessons and I do not embrace this type of training. Been there-done that! How dare he do this to my dog! As if this wasn't enough, he attempted to examine my dog's ear while my dog was muzzled, on his back and having his head pushed into the table. What happened next? My dog defecated and urinated all over the table. His little heart was pounding. It was then that I told Dr. R. Kelly Hall to let go of my dog, that I would hold him. He said "No, it would be a liability. So you'll have to go somewhere else." I responded, "Then, that's what I'll do. Let go of my dog." He did. I was so upset and my dog was so upset. What kind of vet does this????? I didn't go to Dr. R. Kelly Hall for a lesson on training dogs. Not to mention, Dr. R. Kelly Hall didn't know ANYTHING about my dog's health history. He didn't know if my dog had a bad back, a bad heart, etc. He never met my dog until this visit. What if my dog had a bad back or a bad heart??? He could've killed him! I understand that vets have to take a cautious approach when it comes to dogs that are aggressive. However, my dog was not aggressive and what Dr. R. Kelly Hall did was unexpected and uncalled for. Anyone that is a true animal lover and considers their pet as a part of their family would consider this animal abuse. My dog is now traumatized and it's likely he will have a difficult time getting over this the next time he goes to the vet. I am traumatized over this as well. I can't believe what happened. Now that I've had the time to think about what happened, I know FOR SURE that I will never, ever go to Middleton Veterinary Hospital again. I regret putting my trust into Dr. R. Kelly Hall because my trust was VIOLATED!!! Think twice before putting your trust into Dr. R. Kelly Hall at Middleton Veterinary Hospital in Middleton, Idaho!!!

TRAGIC LOSS! Contacted this veterinarian clinic with a life and death situation - they are literally minutes from our home in Middleton. Our Golden Retriever was in labor had a hard contraction and died. We contacted Middleton Vet they said they could not help us and to take her elsewhere. At this moment, the only thing we could do was try to save the puppies. They instructed All Valley Vet - 30 minutes away. Now regardless of their schedule of routine visits; wouldn't you think they would be able to at least try knowing that a 30 minute drive is hopeless when you have minutes to save the puppies. The one star rating is only to share our experience - really I give this clinic no rating at all -- completely unreliable in this small community! Go elsewhere!

Middleton Vet is wonderful! The staff is so friendly and helpful, and Dr. R. K. Hall is great- He is not much of a talker typically, but is very professional and after a few visits we had some interesting conversations. My aunt has taken her dogs to MVH for years, and when I got my girl Riley, I decided to make the short commute from N. Boise for her as well. The prices are very fair and some of the best in town by far. I appreciate that for all of Riley's puppy shots, they only charged for the cost of the vaccines, not an office visit on top each time. We later had a case of tonsillitis (who knew?) and they were great again. They were able to work me into the schedule the next day an it only took one office visit and some prescriptions. They didn't immediately say that we needed tons of expensive lab work or imaging, or require multiple follow-up visits. While my case was pretty straight-forward, I appreciate the fact that they don't push excessive diagnostics or treatments just for the extra $$. I would highly recommend the drive to MVH.

No pushy service, good advice, good people. No fancy salt water tanks full of fish or copper waterfalls driving up the cost to customers.

I have been taking my French Bull Dog Lulu here for almost Two months. Her back was hurt in an accident. Middleton Vet has been doing Lulu’s Laser Therapy. They are so kind. Just when I thought people couldn’t get any better. The Doctor walked in today during Lulu’s therapy with a hand made harness he personally made and fitted to her. He didn’t charge me nor has he been anything but caring. Today I watched Lulu walk for the first time with her harness. I couldn’t stop the tears of happiness from falling. Not two months ago I almost put her down because a different Vet said there was no hope with out surgery. Thank you Middleton Veterinary Hospital. Thank you for everything.

I understand a veterinary hospital being expensive. I would be willing to pay plenty of money for a competent vet who is friendly to both my animals and myself. However, each experience here has been terrible. I always have a lot of questions about my dog, because I love him, and I want to know how he's doing. Unfortunately, I hardly ever get anything from the vet except a few curt words and a quick vaccination. On the last visit, I went for the specific reason of checking my puppy's development and talking to my vet about his health and general well-being. Essentially, an office visit. My dog and I waited patiently for him to arrive, only to have him, literally, walk in, pick his scruff up, give him a shot, and leave. When I stopped him, he had the nerve to look irritated! "Did you have a question?" He asked, like I was bothering him. I asked him how my dog was doing, and he basically told me that there was absolutely nothing he could tell me until my dog was a year old -- he was seven months at the time. The last actual checkup on my puppy had been when we had just gotten him at eight weeks. In short, the vet is rude and impersonal. I would recommend traveling to another hospital if you want quality service and plenty of information on your animal and their well-being; a hospital that's worth your money and time.

Had a fantastic experience as a new patient. The front and back office staff are very nice, attentive and caring. Dr. Hall is very knowledgeable and diagnosed my dog with allergic bronchitis. He gave me a detailed treatment plan should the problem persist.The medications prescribed started working right away and my little guy is feeling great. We will be back again for vaccinations and follow up.

I have spent over $1400 on two dogs in the past 6 months and the one dog that was just treated I spent $400 on. Well he needed a cone so that he wouldn't tear out his stitches and we called and asked for a free cone. A cone that costs them probably $5 and they told us no they could sell us one. They are extremely overpriced and the front desk help are not very friendly at all. The doctor is nice but seriously they need to rethink your customer service skills.

Not impressed ... Cards were sent out to let me know my cat needed a vaccine so we took her in. Then a month later we get another one for a different vaccine she needed ...SO WHY NOT DO THEM AT THE SAME TIME... they said they can't overlap vaccines ... SO WHY NOT TELL ME SHE IS DUE FOR A 2ND IN A MONTH AND DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME? Oh that's right I get billed for 2 visits! Wrong ... I'm going to a different Vet! It isn't an easy thing to get a cat or a dog to the vet.
