I would HIGHLY recommend this vet. They were very kind and compassionate when I had to bring in my beloved Zoe for euthanasia. They had a private room set up for us when we got there, and gave me all the time I needed with her during that immensely difficult afternoon. I never felt rushed. They did a wonderful job on her clay paw print cast- even cut it in a beautiful heart, and they sent a really nice card to our family afterwards. Absolutely wonderful Vet and Staff. Dr. Zak and his Niece came to my house to humanely put down my old Lab. After almost 15 years she was ready but we just could not bear the thought of taking her somewhere and scaring her before she passed. Dr. Zak and his Niece were very kind and caring with our old girl, it meant a lot to us. We trust our other animals with Lakeshore, all seem to be very helpful and caring. Keep up the good work!

Even when we were emotional and very critical, they reached out to us and asked if everything is okay and what else they could do. Love these guys. The ladies up front are always kind and concerned. The vet and vet assistants are also well versed in genuine care and actually take the time to listen to my concerns and details of symptoms. When I couldnt afford to leave my pup with parvo in their hands, they did their best to make things affordable as possible while still giving him the care he needed. The technicians nearly cried with me. Even though he didn't make it, I know they tried their best to help him. The love of animals really shows through here with the employees, and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. I refer everyone I know here, for good reason. If you want the most sincere and knowledgeable service from a REAL person who doesn't just see another bill to charge, this is where to go. Thank you guys again, and see you next time.

My senior dog had issues with his kidneys and we ended up losing him. Lake Shore was amazing with my sweet Rosco. In his last hours he was pampered and loved. As Rosco was saying goodbye, the staff at Lake Shore were so kind and understanding. They weren't just nice, they were amazing. I was hugged and loved on to help me through the hard time. My kids were there and were also treated well. When it was too hard, the staff made sure that they had coloring books and crayons to take their mind off of it. After it was all done they made a clay print of his paw that was so beautiful. They also sent a card with Rosco's print on it with kind words. Rosco has traveled the country with me for the last 9 years and has been to many different vets. Lake Shore was by far the best we have ever been to.

First time customer, our new puppies needed to get check-ups and shots. Decided to get microchips too. Our male, Max, was hurt and bleeding from the MC process and they said it was due to wiggling? A Toy Yorkie, Max was the size of a hamster (under 3 lbs) and they couldn't hold him still? Also, tried to get copies of the shot records so I could give to my groomer and they wouldn't provide after calling and requesting. I wasn't impressed with this vet service and will not be going back. 01/17/2018 Update: They say my shot records were e-mailed. I never received them and it's been over two months since my request, on a Saturday or not. Also, the staff should have warned us the needle was so large so I could make the obvious decision not to get the microchips put in such small puppies, but they wanted the money more than worrying about hurting my dogs.

At least four dealings-same issue. Staff acts incompetent. What few minutes with an actual vet was "okay" but felt rushed and not listened to. New patient, a rescue kitty, could not tell if she was pregnant, could not tell if she had earmites, all these tests later, and money, and her ears torturing her after many weeks misdiagnosed DESPITE swab under slide I paid for... when I KNEW she had earmites and no one listened. Not pregnant-healthy. Too much milking for money. Follow-up visit costs on top of first exam because they failed to do what I asked to begin with and misdiagnosed. I understand it takes money and costs them money, but no break at all, no attempt-not a good way to treat a new customer, not good PR or CS. Not even gentle with a gentle scared kitty.

Dr. Zak and his staff are not just friendly and kind to my animals. They care about me as well. After one of my sweet dogs passed, Dr. Zak made it a point to ask how I was doing! I will only use Lake Shore Animal Hospital from now on. I came here several weeks ago to have my dog treated for an ear infection. The Vet I normally go to was to busy. The staff went above and beyond with the service. The Veterinarian was professional and caring about my dog. The service I received was second to none. They even called me twice after the treatment to see how my dog was doing. And if ther were any other problems or if I had questions to call back. Bottom line, if you want the best treatment and service for your animal, see these guys before you go anywhere else.

I woke up Sunday Jan 26,2019 and my 1/2 Welsh Corgi-1/2 Papillon's face was swollen up under his left eye and into his upper left lip area the size of a golf ball.We just moved here from Bend Oregon Nov 20 so I did not have a vet yet and it being Sunday,most vets are closed.I did not know if he had been bitten by something,pricked or cut by a plant he was allergic to,or had an abcess from and infected whisker or tooth.So I observed him and made sure nothing was life threatening and decided I would take him to a vet the following day. My daughter's dog had a recent sudden illness about 3 weeks ago,Thank goodness someone recommended Lake Shore to her because she had no vet yet either and she had to rush her dog to Lake Shore .The experience she had was so positive,I decided to use Lake Shore even though I live 20 miles away.So Monday morning I called at 8am when they opened.I was told they were completely booked for appointments but if I was willing to come in around 930 am I could be squeezed in between the existing appointments. I was so impressed.The facility was inviting,clean and neat inside and out.The lobby was uplifting and comfortable and the desk staff were friendly and caring.We were taken to a room right away.The Vet Tech was friendly and attentive and so good with my dog,establishing herself with him.The veterinarin Dr Zach Raptosh was so very calm ,laid back and gentle.So friendly he felt like a family member and my dog took to him immedaitely.My dog bonded right away with everyone there..I have to say all of the staff was amazing,friendly,courteous and caring.Everyone was thorough,checking everything to determine the cause of my dogs swollen face.My little guy is completely healed.I am so relieved and happy to have found a competent place to take care of all our vet needs.Lake Shore Animal Hospital in Nampa Idaho is who I will use for all of our future vet needs.

My first visit was because my oldest dog wasn't able to walk with out falling over and my normal vet couldn't get him in. I called lakeshore because they are close to where I live. They were able to squeeze him in. Everyone was so friendly, Dr. Young was amazing..she explained everything and started my dog on medication. He now is walking much better. I have found a great vet and have continued his treatment there and will from now on use lakeshore..compassion for my oldest dog who means everything to me is priceless!

Zach Raptosh is a phenomenal Vet. The other vets that have joined Lake Shore are also amazing. They have saved several of my animals, and care for them all. Zach is amazing with large animals, especially horses. He does not over prescribe, and tends to take a natural approach as much as possible. Pricing is great. I just moved to Nampa, and when my dog was horrifically injured I didn't know where to go. We called Lakeshore and they accommodated an emergency visit, and I'm eternally grateful they did. Gentry was very patient and calm, which really helped me stay patient and calm. Paperwork went very quickly, partly because they didn't try to sell me anything while I was so distraught. The advice they gave me before and after my dog's surgery was straight forward and realistic, but not scary. I almost cried when they handed me the bill and I could actually afford it, I was so scared I'd have to have my dog euthanized if I couldn't afford treatment. My dog has a long recovery ahead of her, but I feel a lot better knowing that the staff at Lakeshore will be there for checkups and advice along the way.

What a great company of caring people! Dr. Zach (I don't even know his last name) is easily the most competent and most caring Vet I have ever even met (and I know a few Vets). He spent a lot of time working with me and my family to make sure we were OK with a care plan and the costs involved with an old dog dying of cancer. The staff is the same. They work there because they love animals and they care about the feelings of pet owners. That is the only explanation for them being there. There is no way they are getting rich. They don't charge enough let alone too much. I have to say that the one negative review I see here must be a plant. Probably West Vet. It's too bad there isn't a way to verify that a reviewer really is a customer. I recommend Lakeshore to anyone who wants sincere and competent pet care at very reasonable costs. David Weber

Such a wonderful facility! The waiting area smells fabulous and the entire facility is very clean and professional. I have been in multiple times with my Labradors, the veterinarians treat them kindly and my animals look forward to going to the vet! My lab is now pregnant and they have given me the best of advice and care as to how to proceed in making sure she gets the best of care! Worst vet experience I have ever encountered. Took my Scottie in for shots and to be evaluated for a dental the tech held him down with such force that he was so stressed his tounge was hanging out and I told her she was causing him to be way stressed out she put him down without looking at me.when the vet came in he had to hold him down on the floor while a different tech gave him his shots before they were done he had messed all over the floor. I called back to complain about it and all the vet would say was well maybe we didn’t get a A+ today. That evening I noticed my dog limping three days later he had to go in for a TPLO surgery for a torn ACL not saying they caused but certainly contributed to it I would not suggest you take you loved ones to this office

My dog has suffered from chronic ear infections for years, getting them every other month! But seeing this doctor, he treated it and she hasn’t had one in over a year!

Wonderful staff! My family recently had to put down our long time family dog. We had had a horrible experience years prior at a different vet and were hesitant to go through the process again but the staff here was so wonderful and understanding. They gave us time to be with our dog during the process and to comfort him. We were even given a clay imprint of his paw to keep and recently received a lovely handwritten card expressing their sympathies.

The staff are so compassionate. I had to bring in our cat of 15 years because it was his time to go. I was a crying wreck as I held him knowing that it was time for him to pass. They were so kind and got me right in to a room and allowed us time to say our final goodbyes and allowed me to hold him the whole time. I was there when he was born as a kitten and I was there as he left and they were so sweet and understanding during this difficult time. I highly recommend this clinic. We board our pup at the boarding facilities and have always had wonderful experiences.
