As soon as we arrived with our sick kitten a door was opened for us. And we were politely greeted. We were immediately placed into a screening room and our cat was taken care of. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The care my dog received was excellent! Each person here seemed to sincerely care about her condition.
Awesome staff and people but, the prices are a pretty outrageous.
I've never been here but they are the nicest, most helpful people over the phone! As new pet owners they have helped us through some stressful times.
They are absolutely amazing. We took our dog to them because she had an electrical shock, bad enough she couldn't breathe and her lungs were filling with fluid. (She is a teething puppy and munched something she shouldn't have.) The vet on staff was very knowledgeable about what to do and how to help our dog. The vet and the rest of the staff were very kind to us and patient, because we were very shaken up by the incident and worried about our dog. The staff is wonderful and took very good care of our pup. We called several times through the night to see how she was doing and they graciously gave us updates. Anytime my pets may have a future medical need, IFVEC will be my first choice.
I have only had to visit this clinic instead of my normal vet twice. One time for each of my cats. Both were very sick, and ended up needing to be put down. They have been nothing but compassionate, and professional both time. Their services were performed quickly and with distinction.
Great care for my pets and amazing staff as well.
Mediocre. Was worried when our little King Charles started drooling excessively and some diarrhea. Wasn't sure what she got into, and at only three months old she had lost a lot of water. So I brought her over. $100 for a vet tech to look at her and get some vitals (that is the base fee for walking through the door). Doc Riser or Risen or something comes in and pretty much says, well yeah, she's sick. We'll go work up a plan of care and let you know home much. Low cost treatment plan was about $500 and the other was about $900. The tech told me we could do a stepwise approach to see how she does. So I said give her some fluids and antinausea. She left and the doc came back in in disbelief that that is all I wanted to do. Took her from the table and as he walked out said "I sure hope she makes it through the night" and shut the door. What happened to stepwise approach? Got her home now and she is doing much better. She will make through the night until I can get her to our regular vet, Dr Stone, who we love. At first I thought they cared, and I think the tech did. But the Doc sure didn't seem too. At least give me some explanation of why you want to do all this doc. Don't just send in a tech to try to explain it to me. (Which really, the tech was nice) Over all, they did help my dog....from my medical experience....not theirs. If you have to take an animal in then yes do it, but be cautious about what they want to do and ask questions. You know your animal and how they normal act. Mine changed a lot from being there and had improved. Seemed to me fluids would do her just fine. So far so good.
Went in with my dog for an emergency. The staff was so caring and helpful. Even injured my dog was completely comfortable with them. They did wonderful work and my pup will be good as new soon enough thanks to them!
They were wonderful and took very good care of our little Papillon after he ate chocolate. They kept us informed. They told us what type of treatment was recommended and gave us an estimate. Our little Papillon came through the ordeal very well and we were even refunded money when we picked him up the next morning. I would not hesitate to use them again in an emergency.
They got us in right away and gave us am estimate of what it was going to cost for treatment so we could make informed decisions. All the staff was so nice and very caring! Thank you!
My dog was son bitten. Had to have a check.
These guys do excellent work and the staff are extremely caring. I think just about any time someone has to take their pet to the ER they are probably having a bad day. That said, the staff here makes things a little better by doing what they can for your pet as well as treating you with kindness and like a friend. The cost is reasonable considering they are available 24 hours and offer "life saving" services. You wouldn't want to make them your regular vet (unless you have more money than I do), but they are definitely worth their cost when you need it.
Very cold and not very helpful. When we asked to do the full treatment they decided to only do IV fluids. We found out later she didn’t have what they told us she had. They were only focused on the financial aspect instead of saving the life of our puppy. And we were willing to put up more once we got it. Not worth the 90 minute drive and sure as hell not worth going to ever again. Worse than going to a doctor’s office. At least there they care about your health more than money.
My dog ate a loaf of raw bread dough, which is bad. Thankfully the emergency clinic exists. They were able to help her and she's right as rain now. I'm so grateful the clinic exists and the staff on hand were so friendly. It's comforting to know a facility like this is present in Idaho Falls.
They have gotten us in within 15 minutes several different times when my pets were sick.
Worst experience ever!! I will NEVER take any of my pets there ever again. They gave my dog expired meds and didn't fix his injuries. Just put a bandage on it. He ended up having surgery at his vet on Monday to fix things that they didnt. Total waste of time and money! Ridiculous prices and crappy service!
I have been a veterinary technician for over a decade, and over 4th of July my 3 minth old puppy ate a toxic plant in Island Park. On arrival after a terrifying 90 min drive the staff was ready are prepared for my boy. The doctors and technicians were kind and professional. I could hear them in the back talking so sweetly to my boy. Having been to many emergency vet clinics over the years, these wonderful people surpassed all expectations. Thank you for saving my babies life!
Great clinic and competent, caring staff.
A plus very good people
Very helpful staff!
They Are Money Hungry and give false hope!!
Wonderful staff. Very calm and positive and helpful. Knowledgeable and honest!
This is an emergency after hours veterinary clinic. They were very calming and extremely helpful when my timid little dog got bitten by a larger dog. They were very respectful of his fear and were able to assess his injuries and treat him without further trauma. I love these guy and appreciate that they are open when the regular vets close.
Called for an emergency overnight and wouldn't look at her without $100 and wouldn't treat unless you have $200 more? Bullshit greedy heartless people. Wouldn't even do anything if I had half then and half in the morning.
They were so kind when our dog was ready to pass on a weekend.
Took our cat in on a Saturday evening after receiving a torn ACL. The staff was very accommodating professional and friendly. After the visit they faxed all the pertinent information to our regular vet.
We had a horrible experience with this clinic. We breed gladiator danes. We are not new to going to the veterinarian for normal shots, check ups, and even emergencies. But We had a female in labor had already delivered 4 puppies and hadn't had a puppy for 8 hours. We knew her track record and this was not the norm. Of course this happened on a Friday night so our vet was out of the office until Monday. We rushed her in to hopefully save her and the remaining pups. We had stopped at the babk but it only allowed us to pull out $400. They told us that since we couldn't give then all $1200 in cash that we could go home and come back Monday when the bank opened. For some strange reason I thought that people worked at veterinarian clinic because they believed in saving lives. We were lucky enough that people were able to pull cash out of their accounts and let us pay them back on Monday. Just so that our baby girl and 6 puppies survived. But not because of this office because we had friends that didn't see us as a payday but as parents who love their fur babies. If you have a choice stay as far away as possible.
My dog died
Able to find the problem with an aging dog and explain it
Glad they are open 24 hours Damm puppy of our are something bad and is ok now thanks to these guys.
Simply amazing DR's and staff
They got us right in even though they had a bunch of pet emergencies, they took care of it little yippy-dogs stitches, (she mouthed off to a bigger dog that was minding hey own business) They have us a quote before they fixed her up... No other option on a Saturday night.
We needed urgent help with our Whisper as her heart was failing. The Dr. and staff were very helpful, understanding and kind in our time of need. Whisper passed very peacefully.
When we had a small emergency with our dog, this clinic was extremely helpful. The vet explained everything clearly to us. They took extremely good care of our dog and I am very grateful that this place is open when all other veterinary clinics are closed.
Went in after normal business hours with my sick 15 year old dog and they did an excellent job with her diagnosis. All of the staff members were very genuine and compassionate. I highly recommend them for your animals when your regular vet is closed. They also transferred treatment and diagnosis to my regular vet.
Dr. Bailey saved our puppy's life! Everyone here was great. We are very grateful.
Great service
Good help and fast but expensive.
They were very caring, and took time to carefully evaluate my pet and provide help for him.
What a Godsend! Like everything pet, they know the worst possible time to get sick. My dog Socrates, lab-bloodhound mix showed symptoms of bloat (twisted stomach) about 5:30 on a Friday afternoon while we were visiting family in Idaho Falls. He was in total distress with a fever by the time we arrived at IFVEC. We knew the symptoms of bloat and Socrates only had a little while to live without immediate action. Dr. Sarah Herres listened to his symptoms, X-rayed him and started surgery shortly after I approved it. IFVEC gave me low and high price quotes. Three hours later, Socrates was dopey (would have been a good name) but alive. We checked back once more that night then again the next morning. What a wonderful place. Socrates was passed off to Dr. Parnell the next morning and she was fully aware of Socrates status when we got there. I'm somewhat long-winded but this place is wonderful. I can't think of a better outcome done by more professional staff ... all their staff! His appetite is now back with the normal begging and drool. Thank you all again!
Thank you for standing by my side and helping me through this process with my dog. I couldn't thank you enough you have been extremely helpful and very professional you and your staff.
Very friendly and accommodating
Our dog needed to be seen. I went in with the thought I was putting our dog down. The staff was so nice and very caring. Dr Parnell came in checked our dog out and we found out our dog was not as bad off as we thought. I was greatful we didn't have to put the dog down but in the back of my mind I thought this was going to cost me a lot of money. It was less than what my vet charges me for just walking in the door. This was great and I would not hesitate to come back. Thank you very much Dr Parnell and staff.
So thankful this place was open and so grateful to Dr. Harris and everyone involved for saving my dog Buster thank you so much! Great people doing a great job
Provided excellent care for my dog. I hope I never have reason to go here again but I’m very glad that its an option if I need it. Thank you!
My dog was having issues around 10pm and I couldn’t tell what was wrong with him and I was so worried so I called and I called and they were the only place I could get ahold of and they asked me what was wrong and told me to bring him in. They gave me peace of mind. Calmed me and my dog down. And saved the day. 10/10
They took wonderful care of my Tiny for almost 4 days. Thank you all so much!
Appreciated their compassion and discussing with me all the options and costs for taking care of my cat that had been hit by a car. They allowed me time to consider what to do and discuss this with other family members. Thank you.
I was referred to the IFVEC due to my vet clinic didn't have any openings for a few days. Let's just say it was nice to have a back-up clinic, plus they did everything my vet would have done & I was super impressed! This clinic also does ultrasounds and my other dog needed to have one as they are the only "animal clinic" that has an ultrasound machine for our 4 legged friends. Their prices are comparable to our clinics charges, however, because they are a "specialty clinic", an after hours/emergency calls, they do charge $100 for the office visits, and that doesn't include any tests, xray's, etc. Its money spent well and I appreciate the long night hours they stay open, just in case our 4-legged kids needs a doctor!! The staff and Dr's are just awesome & very welcoming. I've taken in all my "kids" one time or another and they are knowledgeable in just about anything cat or dog! My cats diabetic, one dog they helped has asthma and my other dog had to get the ultrasound! It's nice & reassuring that if one of my kids needs help, they have the depth of knowledge to help with just about anything that comes their way!
Great staff.
Great and thorough service
They care more about charging ALOT of money instead of being helpful to the animals in their care. What a joke. I guess bring the only 24 hr vet help in Idaho falls is a lucrative state of affairs for 'care giver's" in IF.
Our sweet boy Koda was attacked on a Friday, and wasn't getting any better. He had seizure's two days later and this was the only place I found open. They immediately took our pup to the back to start caring for him to try and make him feel better. The price I feel is reasonable for what they do. When we lived on the east coast we took our boy to an emergency vet and that was 600-700 on the low end of things. Everyone did a great job to make the tough situation easier for me and my wife. Sadly our sweet boy didn't come home alive with us. But I know everyone there involved in trying to help us cared, and they did everything they could to help and try and save him, and that's all I could ask. You helped make a tough situation easier to cope with, and we could see that you cared. Which we appreciate greatly. I highly recommend this clinic if there is an emergency. Great staff to work with.
The staff all around is compassionate and understanding. Be ready to have to pay everything the day of your visit! It’s important to mention that they give you different treatment options with the cost of each treatment plan.
They were so caring and so nice to us when we had to take our dog here. I wish the ladies that worked there that night were regular vets that I could take my dogs to all the time!
I took my cat Loki in because he was sneezing. I was also worried about him because I couldn't tell if he was using his litterbox. I got him from the shelter and have only had him for four days. The receptionist was prompt in answering the door. Dr. Kelley Parnell looked at Loki. She was cery gentle with him and told me what she was checking for. She also gave me some suggestions on biw to introduce bim to my other two cats. Loki was fine except for a respiratory infection. Dr. Parnell explained the options for antibiotics. Overall, everyone I interacted with was friendly to me and gentle with Loki. I definitely recommend going to them.
I brought my dog in after she had been attacked By another dog. The staff got her right in did an immediate exam and let me know exactly what I was looking at. The doctor was excellent and explained everything well and also gave me the follow up instructions that I needed to follow and gave me the name of a vet to go see because I didn’t have one yet. I would definitely recommend this clinic to everyone and I know if I am ever need for emergency care again for my animals this is where I will bring them
I was doing homework and all of a sudden heard my 4yr old male Husky yipping outside. That was very unlike him so I went to bring him in. When I went out there he was writhing in pain on the ground and couldnt get up. There was no blood nothing around him that I could see that could hurt him, and no one was outside. I was really worried about him and our female wouldn't leave his side. We called the emergency vet clinic and was able to take him in. They took excellent care of him and were VERY kind! I was happy to pay the fee because I needed to know that my dog was okay. He apparently pulled a muscle in his back from jumping off his dog house and is now on house arrest! Thank you guys for taking such good care of my dog Kie!
Fantastic job done in relativity good time considering how busy they were and the fact that it was after hours.
These guys were so amazing with us and our cat. From the second we walked in to when we left they were wonderful. Everyone working there was so compassionate and understanding. The other bad reviews are completely unfounded and don't listen to them. If we ever have another emergency with our cat this is the only place I would trust to take care of him. To all the people who are complaining about money, IT IS an emergency clinic so expect it to cost a little bit more then your average vet visit but the prices are very fair and reasonable. Thank you guys so much for helping our Rusty
Complete professionals! Outstanding service and care! A place with people to trust with your pet's life. I know because they saved mine!
Very nice and caring staff. Efficient. EXTREMELY fair prices for being an after hours clinic AND dealing with high stress situations as best as possible. Besides the emergency exam fee- which is extremely fair- all the prices are extremely competitive and even lower sometimes than some other clinics.
Love the staff and their understanding
They've been so nice and helpful everytime I've had to bring one of my dogs in
Our dog suddenly had problems last night, and when I called local emergency services, I was told that because I wasn't already a customer of the local emergency vet, they would not receive us (we just recently moved to the area). In a panic, I called the next closest emergency service, Idaho Falls Emergency Vet Clinic. Angela answered the phone and instantly made me feel better with her caring and calm demeanor. She talked me through some things to check for and continued talking to me while I loaded the dog into the car. I had to call her back with further concerns while the husband drove us there, and she was knowledgeable and so calm again. When we arrived, she was waiting with an open door to receive us. Elise was our vet tech, and with a smile and warm, steady hands, made our poor shivering dog more comfortable, even while taking readings. She is such a happy, jovial person that I also felt more at ease. She even managed to make me laugh during all that stress! Doctor Herres then came in for her review, and afterward presented us with several options and quotes for those, all without making us feel pressured to choose the top tier, which I appreciated very much. She also was very calm and welcoming in her approach, overall making us feel very at home, like being among honest friends. Even the pricing was below what we expected, and VERY reasonable. We would have paid just about anything, and were so surprised and pleased to see that even though they could have asked that of us, they instead have great pricing that means ANYONE can, and should, think of them without hesitation when in a moment of need. Although we hope never to need emergency services again, the entire experience left us wishing that Idaho Falls Emergency Vet Clinic was the one close to us....if they weren't only for emergency hours, I would happily make them our new, permanent vet, even with the long drive. Thank you so much for recognizing the needs of our baby and his scared parents, and for treating us with respect and honesty, all while being so genuinely caring and kind.
Our 11 week old kitten had FIP. We took her in late to confirm our suspicions. We came back the next day to put her down as she only had a week as she had the wet form and she was already starting to show signs of stress. They didnt charge us twice for two visit fees to help save money and had great bedside manner. Gave us all the time to cuddle her beforehand. We have been here a couple of times late at night and they have been lovely. I trust my furbabies in their hands.
The male vet was very uninterested in my dog. Because she wouldn't stop barking, he wouldn't even touch her. He's just like, well I think it's this. S
The hospital took great care of our dog and got her stabilized so she could go home.
Our poor kitty was hit by a car and our vet wasn’t available. We were referred to this place and were very impressed! The staff was prompt and kind. They went over everything with us and our options. When we had to make the tough choice to put him down the tech even cried with our family. So wonderful to know the people care as much about the family of the pets as the pets themselves. I would highly recommend this office!
Will never return had no interest in helping my dog.....go buy a allergy pill is all we was told.
Made an emergency visit at 3:00 am. My dog was running a fever after having hip replacement surgery. They vet was thorough and took care of my dog. She is doing great now. For an emergency visit I felt like the rates were fair too.
They were amazing. From when I called in, to giving ya amazing directions. The doctor met us at the door. I couldn’t have asked for a better clinic for my furbaby. Thank you!!
Maybe they should consider hiring people who actually care about animals. I had a traumatizing experience, when I was driving home and saw an animal in the middle of the road. I got out to check if it was still alive. And it was breathing still and had nothing externally broken. So I hurried and called them and a woman answered. I let her know what was going on. and she bluntly asked me "Well what do you want us to do about it?" Then I asked if I could bring it in. And she let me know that if I did, even if it was not my cat I would have to pay for anything that they had to do. Which I understand. So I asked "Well what if it dies?" And she rudely responded "uh, then it dies." I was so upset about the way she was acting. I was only kind to her, and she acted like she could not care less about what happened to the animal. And was obviously annoyed that I would even call for something like that. Its disappointing that people like this work at a veterinary clinic. I'm convinced saving an animals life was none of her concern. That worries me and makes me think about how much they care about people and their pets. Also, the poor creature died.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff that got my sick kitty right in and treated.
*If you love your pet please read* I took my dog here because he had not eaten in days and would puke up anything we tried to feed him. He became dehydrated and this was the only place open. After looking at him they said they could not be sure without more tests. They told my husband they believed it was something in his stomach or intestines causing a blockage. They told him that they did not believe it was parvovirus. They gave us prices for x-rays and pricing for blood work. Based on their information that they believed it could be something in his stomach or intestines we did the x-rays and declined the blood work. They did them and confirmed that he had 3 areas that had blockage. The exploratory surgery to remove said objects would be $1,500. Unfortunately we didn't have this kind of money so they offered to keep him for the night and try to pass whatever it was. I arrived in the morning to pick him up where they told me that the treatment didn't work and he would need surgery to remove them. The veterinarian showed me his x-ray and the areas where they said this stuff was. They explained that he would need to get back on fluids and would fax their information to my vet. Based on all this information that was faxed over and their x-rays, my dog had exploratory surgery, his stomach cut open to remove these"foreign objects" and there was NOTHING in his stomach or intestines. NOTHING. My dog has parvovirus. So he is now fighting for his life from a deadly virus and had an intensive surgery he DIDNT need because we were told that he had things in his stomach that weren't there. Please try to see if your vet has a 24 hour line you can call at anytime so you can pay for all the work needed for a proper diagnosis for your pet. I ended up paying a little over $400 for this visit where my dog was treated for something that wasent even wrong with him. I paid $600 through my vet for the surgery he didn't need and all the medication he now has to take for the surgery he didn't need. However that $600 also included blood work and a two night stay to treat parvovirus. I hope no one else has to go through anything like this. It is horrible to watch your pet suffer. It is even more horrible when the people you trust to do their job and help your pet end up doing more damage.
It was a weekend when I took my dog in here because my regular vet was closed and he had a horrible cough that just sounded awful. They took us back to look at him and we found out that he had kennel cough. But am I couldn't pay the amount they wanted right then and there and they were willing to wait til I got in touch with the person who could help me and pages for it over the phone. They gave me some antibiotics and sent us home. About a week or so later, they called to see how he was doing. Their pretty flexible, and I'm glad I didn't wait til Monday to see my regular vet.
If you need your animal to be taken care of after hours, these vets know how to do it!! They will make sure that they try everything they can to ensure your furry family member goes home feeling better
We've had to bring our dogs here a few times, and while it is expensive, they are always helpful. Recently our dog Newman passed away here, and Dr. Herres was unbelievably kind to us. She even stayed late for us, so she could be there and help us let him go. I can't say enough thank yous for the kindness we were shown.
Some of the people were nice, but they are unwilling to negotiate on anyting.
Not impressed, first off this place is really cold. the building an interior is very un welcoming an cold, I felt like my dog was already doomed just walking in the door. My little dog is my family and i didnt want him to be frightened because i am made to wait in a waiting room so they can poke him with needles. My little boy was terrified and i had to wait outside. This is unacceptable for the cost of treatment i want to be with my dog. Furthermore there is no where to spend you last minutes with your dog when they say he has to be euthanized. Instead you are thrown in a room with your dog put on a table. It would have been much more comfortable if the room was warm and cushions on the floor so we could sit with our dog. Finally lack of fluids for fur mommys waiting in the waiting room, a coffee maker or water cooler would have made a big difference. The staff were very kind, but the doctor was not very understanding of our feelings for our dog. I used this ER because i had no other option or other place to go. Vets automatically transfer your dog to here after hours. For the cost of pet healthcare it is sad that we as fur parents are thrown around because we become an inconvenience overnight. We would all love a 9-5 job but realistically this is not how it works. As for the cost of treatment its ridiculously high.
Great staff great vet. Very helpful in a stressful situation.
Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable care providers. Is such a blessing that they are open when the other vets are not.
Wonderful staff and Vet who really listen and comfort. My dog was in terrible pain due to spinal arthritis but with a number of other issues like cancer. I called and asked if they could help her pain and they honestly said they would do what they could. They called West Vet in Boise and got her records and were prepared when I arrived. I was a mess and the young man working rushed to the door and ushered me in and took me and my dog to the exam room. He got her a bed to lay in so that she could be more comfortable and was just very patient with me as I was quite upset. The vet tech and veterinarian were just as awesome. I would urge anyone with a sick pet to use Idaho Falls Veterinary Emergence Clinic. Having had sick pets throughout my life, I know their prices are very reasonable for veterinary care, especially emergency care! I left feeling much more positive about my dog's outlook. Thank you so much Idaho Falls Veterinary Emergency Clinic!
It isn't cheap but I didn't expect it to be. When you care about your dog and it's after hours, it's nice to have a place to go that has great staff that is not only skilled, but caring. Of course, we hope we don't have you go back, but if we do, we know we'll be in good hands.
Fabulous!!! I can't say enough good things about the staff, the care of animals, their sympathy and concern of one's critter and owner. I'd rate them 10⭐
They took great care of my cat late at night after she had been in a bad fight. This place is a pet emergency room. I feel lucky to have a service like this in town.
Ok so I didn't LOVE having to visit this facility, for obvious reasons, however they do get 5 stars from me for their kindness and compassion. My cat had gotten into some rat poison, we think, and was unresponsive. They walked me through my options, at no time did they try to pressure or coerce me into treatment for my cat that I didn't want or could not afford. When in the end I decided it was beat to have him put down, they wrapped him up and allowed me to take his body home so I could bury him myself. A week or so later I received a sympathy card, a gesture I appreciated as well.
I have been here twice, both times they worked with me. They didn't make me feel like I was a bad person cause I didn't have unlimited funds to spend on my injured pet. They work with me to get the pet cared for with spending a fortune. They were very caring and gentle with my cat
