These guys are almost always able to fit me in right away! The last time I was there was because my 2 year old filly was injured and needed stitches right away! Reasonably priced and pretty flexible with a payment arrangement if needed. I used to have a vet lady there who was just amazing. I recently took my cat into them for not eating or drinking and vomiting. They told me she had a uti and some air in her bowels and I had them keep her for treatment as I was going out of town I paid 200 dollars towards her staying and her treatment. I hadn't gotten any call from them stating if she was getting worse, better or staying the same as they had insured me they would do so I assumed that no news is good news right! Wrong I was informed at 4 o clock in the afternoon that my kitten had passed away that morning they found her at 7 in the morning and did not notify me until 4 in the afternoon upon speaking to them when I got back they stated that she was still vomiting daily not eating or drinking and that they believed it was from stress of being left there for a few days and that she died of a broken heart. I told the vet that's bs cause she was vomiting and not eating or drinking when I took her in and the vet said she wasnt eating due to stress I never recieved one call to see if I would like to do anything else to help my poor kitten for recovery instead they still charged me for pretty much everything including cremation of my cat and pretty much put the blame on me as she died from a broken heart she was sick when I took her in and from what they say that never changed so that dont sound like a broken heart to me it sounds like complete negligence on there part. I am currently looking for a new vet as I dont feel like they can be trusted with my animals any longer. The vet really tells me to my face oh I thought I would reither not bug you on your vacation and so I just did what I thought was best. Yeah by not calling me like you guys said and not asking if i wanted additional treatment for my cat she died in your care. I have been with these guys for 15 + years and they have lost a loyal customer i no longer have confidence in them. Rant over. They killed my kitten!

The first time that I took my dog in was to get him vaccinations. It didn't seem very clean but they seemed to care alot so when I was going to get him neutered I called them. I very clearly asked if it was too early to neuter my specific breed of dog (Great Pyrenees) and they assured me that it was fine "the earlier the better," is what they told me. After looking at some of the reviews online about surgeries done there, I started researching the affects of neutering a Great Pyrenees before they are 1 year old. As it turns out it commonly causes bone cancer, torn ligaments, and stunted growth in their hind legs due to the lack of testosterone. The lack of growth causes issues like hip dysplasia as well as obesity. When I told them to cancel the appointment they not only denied the affects, they kept attempting to reschedule the appointment even though I continued to state that I did not want to. The receptionist was also quite rude to me when I had initially attempted to cancel the appointment. I will not be taking my dog there again and I do not suggest that anyone else does either.

they gave our seven year old dog two surgeries at once even though we requested they didn't and then wouldn't tell us what was wrong they didn't feed or water himfor two days and again refused to run tests he's currently laying in the backyard and his breathing is slowing Hawthorne is by far one of the worst veterinarian services for dogs do not go here for surgeries I beg of you this is terrifying to go through considering he was fine beforehand

We’ve been going to Hawthorne Animal Hospital for 20+years with dozens of different animals for all sorts of things. I’ve gotten great advice for geese, rabbits, cats, dogs, chickens, hamsters, etc. I’ve found the staff to be professional and competent. Every animal I took there received good care. And when the time came to let one of them go, the staff was very compassionate as I grieved. They don’t hold back; if they think you aren’t taking good enough care of your animal, they’ll tell you so, but I think the honesty is a good thing. (Once we found a neglected cat on the road and took it in. It was in bad shape and the vet wasn’t happy, but after I explained it was a new stray, she was cool.) In short, reasonable prices, good care, and caring staff. **note, They sometimes don’t have room for new clients and will ask when you call if you’ve been in before.

Hawthorne is a great place with a real down-home feel. From the receptionists to the vets, this is a place with genuine care for animals and their owners. We've been bringing our dog here since 2015 for ACL surgery (Labrador Retriever) and the surgery was successful. Know that if you bring your animal here it will be cared for really well.

I have been going to Hawthorne since the 70's they have the best vets and have always taken excellent care of all my pets over the years. I did go to another vet once and it was a disaster, she new absolutely nothing and charged me a fortune.So I ended up back at Hawthorne and and had an immediate diagnosis and my cat was better within a couple of days. The rest of my family also go there and have nothing but praise for the whole staff. I would recommend them to anyone that wants to give their pet excellent care.

NO MORE WILL I RETURN. After 3 years of watching this Animal clinic decline in customer appreciation, today was my pets last visit. We showed up on time for our appointment only to be told that their anti tick treatment wasn't what we were verbally assured over the phone. The VET didn't even know Idaho's tick situation. So after 10 minutes of talking we decided to leave. We we're charged $30.00 for a visit that took 10 minutes. The VET didn't even touch my beloved dogs. Why wouldn't they just tell me over the phone? Like money grows on trees or something. I didn't fight in Afghanistan for this type of business relationship. We will not return, but your next visit is up to you. thank you for reading this. Sometimes I wonder if this will make a difference. I can only hope that it does.

Went in today, they were inexpensive and while no other vet in town would give me an idea about what was wrong with my dog the doctor told me right away before I even got in. Plus for everything she did (fixing him, wrapping up, and giving us medication) I was charged close to the same amount as the other places wanted to charge me just to look at him. They are so wonderful with the animals. I remember one day they did surgery on a horse. They were trying to load him on the trailer so they could take him home, but the horse was so very nervous he wouldn't get on the trailer. They had so much patience with the horse until he was comfortable getting on the trailer. They always treated my pets with great respect and love.
