I had to take my service animal to them on an emergency visit because no other vets were available. They gave me a discount for having a service animal and told me that if this third round of antibiotics didn't work this time my dog was beyond her care. She seemed concerned and offered me information on how to research for financial aid or rescues for the dog. She was very knowledgeable on service animals and their organisations. I would recommend anyone with a service animal to go to this vet.

"Been going to Alameda Animal Hospital for 20 years. Always had a good experience with the staff and service until today. Today very disappointed. My dog was attacked by another dog. She needed urgent care and I was told they couldn't get my injurred dog in. I took her to another Veterinarian got her right in. She was set up for surgery immediately she lost her 3 incissors and bone also puncture to eye. Major bruising to face and skull. This was a tramatic attack and I was told couldn't get here in to Alameda who has been my Veterinarian for 20 years."

So normally I love Alameda and the stuff and the vets are amazing. However today I called because petsmart cut my dogs nails way to short and they couldn't stop the bleeding. When I called for a appointment the lady I spoke with gave me attitude they were booked and they couldn't help and referred me to another vet. My husband didnt know and when he come in she gave him attitude that she couldn't help. Took him over to another vet and they were shocked on how short it was and took 5 minutes....if only our vet that we have been going to for years would have done that for us. Updated on may 22, 2019

They took great care of my girl even though they were not her primary Vet. I got paid later on in the day the same day she needed to be seen but didn't have the money right then. They only cared about getting her taken care of before anything else. Both Docs were very caring and understanding at how shaken up I was over her injuries and let me know she would be well taken care of. Would definitely recommend Emergency or otherwise.

I am extremely impressed by Alameda. Over the phone or in location they are very friendly, show empathy for worried pet owners, care for the pets and are knowledgeable. I was very pleased with the friendliness of the staff here. It was clean and welcoming. I took my cat in after previously dropping off a stool sample. They were not able to diagnose what was wrong with her, but they gave me some options. That was really nice that instead of ordering a bunch of tests to be done, they offered to see if I wanted to do that or I wanted to try something simple like a hormone collar.

What a remarkable staff. I recently brought in all 3 of my animals for their yearly vaccinations and to become new patients of the clinic. All of them were given very thorough examinations and they loved the Staff. “Especially Rumble” I had a lot of questions for Dr. Crystal about getting another dog for our pup and which breeds and rescues we were looking at. She took so much time out of her day to spend with me and help me make the right and educated decision for my pack. I’d also like to add that the bill was much lower than I’d expected, Especially for the amazing care they received! You can tell that this hospital not only cares about animals but also cares about people who care about animals. Thank you so much. We will see you soon for Cuishle’s teeth cleaning. PS “We got the Lab/Hound mix, you’ll meet her soon” she was the perfect addition

I called for a question about an egg bound hen, who could potentially die. The person answering the phone was very rude and I was not even able to explain the situation without her snapping at me and cutting me off because "she and her coworker were too busy" . I expressed that she was behaving unprofessionally and would take my question elsewhere and she abruptly hung up. RUDE. UNPROFESSIONAL. UNACCEPTABLE. FYI Update: While I appreciate your response, my pet died. No questions were answered because I was hung up on.

I'm always so impressed with the service I get here! They really go the extra mile to make sure my animals are comfortable. It's never crowded or noisy when I go, and Dr. Crystal always takes a lot of time to explain to me what's going on and answer all of my questions. She is very thorough and everyone is gentle when handing my animals. I drive almost an hour to take my animals here and I won't take them anywhere else! They do a great job.

The staff has always been wonderful to me and my pets. I've been impressed with how caring the staff is towards animals. All my extended family goes here as well as they have also been impressed with the care provided. This office is great for both your average small pets (i.e. dogs and cats) and exotic species (sugar gliders, lizards, tropical birds, owls, etc).

I would defiantly recommend this vet! The avian vet went out of her way to help me out! The staff was amazing! They had a canceled apt so didn’t even charge me for an emergency! That just shows their not all about the money, just good health for your pets. My macaw needed to get to the vet ASAP! They where so caring, the doc explained everything to me in great detail. I left there feeling so much better! Their bird food is also $10 cheaper then pets smart! I love a good deal! I know where I’ll be buying my bird food, and taking the rest of my animals for now on.
