REVIEWS OF South Atlanta Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center IN Georgia

Rebecca Nolan

Easy 5 stars. From start to finish professional and most important the staff understands and works with the patient and its owners. Our pup is incredibly shy and skiddish in new surroundings and around new people. The techs & vet understood this and worked with him to keep him as comfortable as they could, going so far as to sit on floor to help keep him calm. The vet took time to make sure we understood what was going on and his best options for treatment. I hope no one has to use the emergency services but if you do this is the place.

My dog is diabetic and developed cataracts quickly. Dr. Storey and his team treated us well and the surgery was successful. Very professional folks and love animals. I would recommend them for specialty eye care for dogs.

Dorlene Ginn

Was greater and my dog was taken back right away since she would not walk on her own, everyone was helpful and kind and vet explained what I needed to know.

Danielle

After my cat caught an infection from getting spayed at Lifeline, they literally saved her life. The staff was so helpful, friendly, supportive and kept me updated on her conditions! I can’t thank them enough.

Alis Kill

In short, they only care about money! I would not recommend this place to any one! We had the misfortune of having to use their services for our dog who was hit by a vehicle over a holiday weekend. We were assured by multiple doctors that he was stable when he was not.. we were told lies, and given false hope...even tried to get us to do surgery..don't take your pets here.... Ever!

Corrina Hills

I wish human hospitals and doctors were this nice. They brought out a stretcher for my wounded dog and were wonderful to him during a scary time. Very clean too. Cleaner than most human hospitals. I am glad there are places like this that work after hours to help animals.

G Miles

Outstanding staff and incredible life saving services! Dakota thanks Dr Story for his eye surgery and quality of life as he is still going strong years after surgery!

Helen Tedder

Excellent care for my Springer Spaniel. All staff were very professional and kind; Dr. Johnson could not have been more competent, friendly, and compassionate! I highly recommend SAVES!

This place should be called scams not saves. The doctors here are completely incompetent and have no real knowledge of being vetenarians. You will get this upfront because their main concern is money. We brought our teacup poodle with an illness that had disrupted her ability to walk and barely hold her head up, immediately they wanted $625 to diagnose her by running x rays and blood work. They claimed they had done an ultra sound and think they saw a "mass in her stomach initially. We had to use care credit to pay and received an instant approval of $1500. After the blood work and diagnostic Dr. Mc Intire was unable to tell us what was wrong with our baby and also indicated she didn't see the "mass" in her stomach any longer and she may have just had a stroke or seizure and made us feel better by saying "good news" all she needs is some TLC and nausea medication and told us to follow up with her VET on Monday and if she worsens at all to bring her back and if we had to bring her back there would be much less because its within 24hrs. I asked her to give her an antibiotic in case of an infection and she said there was no need if it was a stroke or seizure. We took our baby home and put her in her bed she drank a little water and went to sleep. When I woke up to check on her she was completely immobile. She could not open her eyes nor move any body parts. We rushed her back to SAVE aka SCAMS hospital where they said she needed immediate attention and gave me another $625 waiver to sign for them to check her. I explained she was there last night and I was told there would be a discount and the receptionist said there was no such thing. We signed the waiver so we could get her seen. The new doctor, Dr. Stacy Spears came in to see us and said she was very ill and they may need to keep her in the hospital and gave us more expenses but couldn't guarantee that she would live through the care. I advised they should cover the expenses because if she was properly diagnosed the first time this would not have happened. She looked me dead in my face and said I was told they wanted to keep her and we declined. I was livid at that point. I knew I was being scammed and told them I was being scammed. The doctor left out of the office and came back to inform me that the kindest thing we could do is put her down because based on her conditions they would have to send her out to another hospital to care and they couldn't guarantee she would live through it. All together they charged me $900 to kill my dog. They have no clue what they are doing when it comes to a chronic illness. I do not know what we she had that made her so sick but the last hospital you want to take your pet to is this one! I am seeking legal advisement regarding this case there has to be a law about practicing with incompetence. These other 5 star reviews must be from staff and family members.

If you want an absolutely great and knowledgeable veterinary ophthalmologist, see Dr. Storey and his wonderful staff here. Dr. Storey's 'bedside manner' is unsurpassed. And he and his staff are so gentle, my blind dog never minds the examinations here. They have enabled me to continue keeping Buddy's physical eye healthy. And even though it wasn't an option for Buddy, Dr. Storey is one of the few vets in the country that can do retinal re-attachment surgery.

During the night of July 30th, we took our dog to this clinic because he had difficulty breathing and his heart was beating very fast. We knew that he had a heart condition, which was treated by our vet, and that he needed immediate care. When I told the vet tech that our dog was anxious, she said that everyone said that. They took x-rays and placed our dog in an oxygen tank for one hour to help him with his breathing. The veterinarian seemed knowledgeable, theoretically speaking, but she had trouble finding her words. It turns out that she made a major error of diagnosis when she released our dog. As soon as we stepped out of the clinic, I rang the bell and told a different vet tech that our dog was still struggling and did not act normally. She said he would get better once back home and basically blew us off. A few hours later, I called the clinic and told a vet tech that our dog was still struggling for breath and that his heart was beating too fast. She said that he was picking up on our anxiety. In front of such indifference and incompetence, we had to wait until our vet opened at 8am. What else could we do? This call was made around 6 am. When we arrived at our vet, she rushed to our car with her staff and tried to save our dog, but it was too late. She said that our dog should have received constant care overnight. The staff and vet at SAVES did not have any empathy and were incompetent. When your job is to care for animals going through a crisis, often a terribly painful and scary one, and the disease is wellknown (congestive heart failure), what does it take to follow the proper procedure to make the animal more comfortable or to end the animal's suffering? These people, especially the vet techs we dealt with, were just terrible people who should not work with animals. The veterinarian needs to retire.

This is very new (2016) so it's nice and clean. More importantly, it was purpose built from the ground up, not refurbished, up so the layout is well designed for its purpose. The people were all nice and and caring. As this is all referral from other Vets it is all sicker than normal animals but there is a sense of calmness that helps with the nerves. Dr. Smith was terrific. She sat down with me like she had nothing else to do that day and however long it took to make sure I understood my dog's condition and the options available was important time. I truly felt I was making an informed decision. I walked in there a nervous wreck. I walked out feeling much better knowing my dog is in good hands.

Great place I would recommend for anyone who has a pet emergency. Very friendly, clean, everything is explained to you in detail. love you guys

Cindy Condon

I can't say enough how terrific SAVES is!!!!! Have had my cat, JJ Flash there several times The vets on staff are awesome and the techs too!! Everyone there is concerned and helpful. My regular vet recommended them for emergency and they were there when I needed them!! JJ is diabetic and was in a crisis and SAVES got him back up to par quickly. I have also had him there for monitoring for insulin increases. We love SAVES and will gladly use their services. Thanks a million!!!! Cindy and JJ Flash

Julia Morris

Great place, AMAZING staff who acted quickly, efficiently and honestly to provide our little baby with excellent care following an attack. Hopefully we won't have to go back any time soon - but if we do, we'll be there in a heart beat!

Barbara Lasiter

Great service!

stacey wy

Brought my dog here for a cateract evaluation. The staff are amazing, kind, and do and extensive exam.

Julie Webster-Smith

I had a great experience with the care of my service dog. No problems, they were very kind and gentle with both me and my dog. My only complaint is that as a disabled vet living on only my checks(which ain't much) I had to get care credit to cover the cost. But what if I hadn't been able to get it. Would I have been turned away on a weekend. My dog had a crushed elbow joint, puncture wounds and a luxated elbow. As it was, they only stabilized the leg, gave my antibiotics, inflamatory meds and pain meds.. I am happy I got that, but the only reason was because I had $500.00 Care Credit. Again what if I had had no money. Would they have turned me away ? Now I go to my own vet and pray that I have enough money to get the leg amputated. Otherwise he will have to be put down. I think there should be a plan for those who can't afford the care. Not charity but help. Like financial help or a way to make payments. I don't think the prices are too high for someone who can pay, but there should be some kind of help with assistance.

Amber Nicholson

I brought my pug Otis here after a very scary morning. I had taken him to my regular vet previously where he was misdiagnosed and not getting any better. The staff at saves was extremely helpful, professional, and made me feel Comfortable in an otherwise scary situation. Not only did they take their time and explaining things to me but they correctly diagnosed my baby And within hours was feeling much better. Would absolutely recommend!

Betsy Slattery

Dr Storey was very thorough and comforting. Wait time was a bit long but grateful to be seen within 24 hours.

Josh Burrell

The doctor and staff was excellent in caring for my dog, and very great in explaining everything. Fantastic job! : )

Katrina Couch

Saved my Dog. My dog was dying in my arms on the way to Southern Crescent. I walked in and a Tech greeted me with such concern and kindness. I didn't want to be separated from my baby but she told me I had to give him to her or he would die. I tearfully handed him over and sat down in the waiting room. Within minutes another young lady came out to explain what was happening and really just comfort me and my Mom. Boy that helped us so much to take a breath knowing we had done all we could for our sweet little boy. It was touch and go all night; however, I was well informed and our little man made it through. I trust Southern Crescent to the highest regard.

Bonnie Beerbower

Our 8 yr old Lab has diabetes and soon developed cataracts in both eyes where she was almost blind. Dr. Story and SAVES operated and gave her back her life. We comtemplated not having this surgery since it was very expensive and labor intensive (eye drops) but are so thankful to have our girl seeing again. after all she's part of our family. She loves visiting SAVES and everytime she visits the people all love her so we are thankful that there is a place close-by where we can take our pets in an emergency.

Jenny Welch

My kitty was in respiratory distress, and they took her back right away and began making sure he was calm and breathing more easily. They were up front about the cost. I have been to another emergency vet before that gave me a menu of options. They did not do that at SAVES. They actually made recommendations of what to do until I could get my cat to our home vet the next morning. I am very pleased, and it was worth the 30 minute drive.

Amy Brown

The only reason I am rating it a 1 is because the ladies at the front desk were very sweet and compassionate, I did not like the vet lady that worked on my 7 month old chow puppy. My pup had a fever of 105.8 when we brought him in and was having seizures, they said they gave him fluids and 2 valiums, nothing for his fever. They said the best thing for him was to put him down. I No longer have my 7 month baby. Don't use this place.

Sheila Frederick

My dog Bella who is 14 months old was referred to SAVES. She had cataract surgery in Florida. After about 4 weeks her right eye retina started to detach. The Florida doctors referred us to Dr. Storey at SAVES. We made an appointment and drove up the next week. We saw Dr. Storey and he told us about the delicate surgery that needed to be done. After that they took Bella. The surgery took 8 hours. We took her home 2 days later and so far she is doing great. Everyone at SAVES was very professional and took good care of Bella.

Bryan Foerster

Had to bring my sick cat in on Saturday since my local vet said the cat needed to stay the night on an IV and they are closed on Sunday. Had to pay upfront before service. They charged me $1100.00 for a 24 hr night! Make sure you are prepared for a high emergency bill.

Kimberly Barclay

I took my dog in with a broken leg which required surgery. All staff members were great - front office, veterinary, and surgical. Everyone had a great bedside manner for my dog and me too. Very professional and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend SAVES.

Lori Llewellyn

Everyone was real attentive and thorough. Pricing was not to extreme for being an emergency room on Sunday night.

Susan Peppers

The staff was very caring and sympathetic to our situation. Dr. Johnson was great, very thorough in his explanation and gave us all options and a honest opinion. I never felt pressured to make any spur of the moment decision and he explained to us that if we went with treatment her chances were still slim of survival. We ended up letting her go, they had a private room for us to say our goodbyes and we never felt rushed. I can’t say enough good things about Dr Johnson, he made a difficult time a little more bearable.

Dana Hansen

Great experience with my cat who had a gaping bite wound on the weekend. Very caring and thourough and 24 hours!!!!

YesSir Dupree

Greeting of great hospitality from the staff. High recommendation will be forward. Thanks, again.

Amy Donadeo

My dog came in for a scheduled knee surgery and was well taken care of. The staff kept me updated through the whole thing, including her overnight stay. They were kind and patient with my dog even though she doesn't kennel well and is a nuisance. I really appreciate the work the doctors, techs, and receptionists do here. I'm glad to have a competent emergency vet nearby.

Pfinn582

I brought Ozzie for retinal reattachment surgery in both eyes last January. He stayed for 5 days and all went well. I was so pleased with Dr. Storey and his staff. Hopefully your dog won't need eye surgery but if you do... I highly recommend them.

Gina Saye

Very friendly & caring staff.

Jack Diehl

Have only been there once but I'm impressed. Going back again on the 15th

Shirley Watson

This was the best experience at one of the worst times. Our little 4 legged baby was having problems breathing and we walked in and they took him right back and treated him and us like we were part of their family. The entire staff was kind caring and kept us up to date on everyrhing that was happening. Thank you to the entire SAVES staff for helping Sam our 4 legged dachshund baby. We are forever grateful.

Karen Fischer

Doctors and staff members have always been extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend their services!

Upgrayedd

The staff are absolutely amazing. Took my cat to SAVES at 3 AM Saturday morning with a suspected broken paw, they took him back immediately and left me to fill out paperwork. Within minutes, the staff told me that they wanted x-rays and informed me of the costs up front. After giving the ok, they performed x-rays, placed a splint, and gave pain and inflammation injections. Dr Johnson expertly gave me the diagnosis and patiently answered all of my concerns and gave detailed instructions for follow-up and recovery. All costs and procedures were discussed, so there were no surprises with the bill. My kitty was back home within 2 hours. This is my 3rd emergency visit here and every time, the doctors, techs and staff were all friendly, welcoming and professional. The level of care my cat received every instance was top notch. These folks have my highest recommendation. They are literally life savers.

Paul Roberts

Doctor and Nurses were very friendly and genuinely attentive to my dog's care and my concerns. Very detailed (love that!) Even in the wee hours of a Sunday morning. Slightly more expensive than your usual vet, but that's typical of off hour/day emergency care. Glad they are available when you need them. I highly recommend them for your animal's care.

Erica Barnhill

We came into SAVE when our 15 year old was attacked by another dog and she lost an eye. The staff and Dr. Eric were great during a traumatic time for us. I would highly recommend SAVE!!

Money Hungry! Avoid AT ALL COSTS! I had picked up my dog from being boarded, and 24 hours later he had gotten explosive diarrhea that progressively got bloodier and bloodier. In a panic, because the vet clinic I usually take my dog to was closed (after hours), I google the closest emergency vet near where I lived. SAVES popped up, so I took my dog there asap! The vet techs were kind and friendly, however the service was EXTREMELY subpar. The veterinarian never introduced themselves to me the entire time. And told me that bloody diarrhea is nothing to be worried about, basically made me pay $400+ for antibiotics. Everything I researched told me to take bloody stool seriously and that ignoring it is risking your pet's life. The next morning I took my dog to the regular vet. They ran diagnostic tests, including x-rays, blood work, pancreatic test, and saw he had heavy food sitting undigested in his stomach. Not once did they down play the severity of the issue and I paid what was fair for the service I received ($500) plus discounts for extra X-rays. I was happy to pay because I could see the vet was trying to make a real effort to get to the source of the issue and not just overcharging me and then putting ABSOLUTELY ZERO effort in my pet's healthcare. I am an awesome pet parent. My dog is up to date on all of his shots, house trained, almost never eats human food and lives a **very** charmed life. I do NOT recommend SAVES. If you can wait out your situation, until you can speak to your regular vet, you should. Unless, you like to be extorted for $$$$ in a desperate situation for least amount of service possible. I will never go to this place again. Will warn others too.

patricia paulhiac

Money first seems to be the priority here. I bought my 2 months old labradoodle because he was vomiting non stop after his two months shots. They gave him an IV but also took some x/rays that showed some object in his stomach. I had to made the decision to let him be operated. He entered surgery some 5 or 6 hours later to find out the object had already passed to his colon. So the surgery was totally not necessary and the object was never found in his stool either. My question is. Why wasn’t a second x/ray taken prior to surgery? Now I have a puppy with a huge wound in his belly, recovering with medicines, I have to skip job to be with him and not to mention the bill of almost 3,000 we have to make a loan to pay back the credit card. Not fair.

Leslie Edwards

Took a long time and cost a lot of money. It's ok to pay for it as long as you are getting your money's worth. Worth the wait and worth the money. Everyone was so nice. Loved Dr. Johnson as he took the time to figure out what was wrong instead of just treating the symptoms. I wish he was my full time Vet.

Jodi Estes

This is a great animal hospital. I have brought my dog here on 3 occasions. Once for eye surgery. He went in blind as a bat and sees perfectly now. Two other times he was taken for pancrentitus which is fatal for him because he has Diabetes. He has always gotten superb care from all staff and doctor's. I like everyone else freaked out about the cost but I decided to sacrifice for my dog. It took me months to pay off each visit but was money well spent in my opinion.

Rebecca Whitley

Beautiful facility. The techs are so friendly!

Dea McClendon

SAVES was great with our dog. He ingested something he shouldn't have and we had to take him in at 2am. Dr. Johnson and the staff (Kayla in particular) were very helpful. They took care of what needed to be and didn't try to push any unnecessary tests or procedures on us. I can't imagine taking a pet in that feels bad and people actually do more to them than need be while they feel horrible just to make more money. This facility DID NOT do that. They were amazingly kind and friendly. Our dog is fine and we are grateful SAVES was able to help ensure that.

Brenda Edwards

My dog is diabetic and developed cataracts quickly. Dr. Storey and his team treated us well and the surgery was successful. Very professional folks and love animals. I would recommend them for specialty eye care for dogs.

Betty Smallwood

We have used this facility many times, unfortunately, each time the staff and dr.'s have been great. We even recently had to say goodbye to one of our Beagle babies and they were so caring and sympathetic and the Dr. even cried with us! These people REALLY care about your pets and you. Highly recommend using this facility!

angie zapata

We took our Rottweiler Sam there today for an eye exam. Such a beautiful facility, the staff is amazing, Sam immediately was in love with the staff. Thank you for making us feel like family

Jennifer Scott

Very nice people. My dog was very well taken care of. They were also very tolerant of my daughter's questions.

Christina Moon

The staff highly concerns me! A lot of play.......hanging out chatting it up and giggling very loud......young girls eating food and just drinking sodas like it’s a slumber party! Do not spend a dime here or even think they really care......they only want your money like a Vortex and if you don’t have the $$$$ they will want to talk you into putting your pet down. I’ve been there twice now once in the morning time and another late evening with emergencies. Tonight was a disaster and way too much chatting it up and acting very immature. My girlfriend is never coming back and going forward with our fur babies we will drive to Blue Pearl in Sandy Springs. More experienced and professional and the Drs are not fresh out of school. Don’t be fooled with their “new” image. The bigger girl “ white face “ red hair walks around like a military police officer and is a complete mess. She speaks down to you like you are 12 years old.......don’t waste your time or money . SAVE a life!! Our pet lived when they said to put it down and that they would do it. A messy , sick place!

Andrew Quesada

Very caring team and the facility is very clean and inviting. They had a very honest approach and told me how to manage my dogs hip dysplasia without surgery. I really appreciated them not trying to rush her in to surgery and giving me alternative treatment options to keep her feeling well.

Marcel Levitre

Everyone was very friendly and the service was incredible. We really appreciated the attention and patience they provided during this visit. Everyone was very professional and courteous. Thanks!!

Dennis Baldauf

Compassionate and very smart doctors and techs here. Saved one cat, helped me through putting another to sleep. Highly recommend.

Nakia Roberson

Their name says it all! SAVES they made my baby emergency peaceful God bless them

Maura Keller

In one week I had one dog get bitten by a brown recluse spider and another get bitten by a copperhead. The staff is totally amazing. They gave me all my options and recommendations. They took such great care of my dogs. Highly recommended them.

Barbara Michael/Highfield

There's so much to be said about this INCREDIBLE place. I came in at 3am with my BESTEST

dan ward

I had to put the love of my life down last nite and every one there was the apsalutely the best to be around

Piper E Pup

Friendly caring staff. Our 3 year old Shih-tzu has her sight back because of Dr. Storey and his amazing staff. We can't thank you enough.

Amanda Holmes

No one wants to have to take their furry friends in for any kind of emergency, but when you have to, this is the place to go! Our pup was having some issues and his nurse, and doctor were great! They had wonderful bedside manner, and seemed to genuinely appreciate our concern and were thoughtful in their responses. We know we will be returning for ophthalmology at some point and look forward to the care we will receive!

Scott Ingram

Last night started with my best friend laboring to breath. She was 10 and happy. We brought Allie to the clinic to see what was wrong with her but she stopped breathing at the front steps of the clinic. They had other patients to see but rushed outside to try to help her. They couldn't save my friend but stayed with us, provided emotional support and helped to ease her passing. I so thank the staff for doing this. You were so caring for a dog you've never seen. I really can't thank you enough for trying to help her.

Patty Chamberlain

An emergency with our Pug took us to SAVES center. The staff was welcoming, calming, and clear with treatment options. Dr Storey and his team helped heal Molly with a conjunctiva flap on her left eye. The follow up was intense, but necessary and directions were clear. Following the regiman was time consuming, but with each check up, progress was made. My husband and I made the 1 1/2 hour trip with no feedings but thanks for the care. She healed wonderfully and were considered the staff as extended family. There is bo place we should recommend other then SAVES center. Money well spent for the outcome. Devotion and admiration will always be there. Patty and David Chamberlajn

Stephanie Richardson

Dr. Johnson was wonderful. This visit turned out to be one of the hardest nights of our lives. Our Chihuahua had been sick and had a bacterial infection which turned out to be sepsis. We had to make the very difficult desicion to put her down. Dr. Johnson was very respectful, sensitive, and caring throughout the entire experience. Thank you so much for the best possible experience in such a difficult time.

Scarlett

Dr. Johnson is hands down one of the absolute best veterinary doctors I have ever met and I have met allot of veterinary doctors over the years and have never met one as caring, down to earth and amazing as Dr. Johnson. I was not only impressed by how he treated us but other patients as well. People like Dr. Johnson are one in a million. Thank you for reminding me there are still good people in the world Dr.Johnson!

Patricia Miceli

If you want to get lied to this is the place for you.... This place is horrible and NO empathy from the night shift (9pm-12am) I was told my baby was on an IV.. She was in critical condition and we were there for 2 hours. When it was time for me to leave to leave her for night. I went to say good night to her. I noticed NO IV on her!!!!!!????? I was so upset.... I was also told they checked her liver levels to see if it if they were functioning normal and that was a lie. They were more concerned about collecting payment than treating a critical patient?? When I had my credit card in hand ready to pay??? I did not like the people who worked this shift... They do not seem to be very knowledgeable... They had the nerve to document in the paperwork that my puppy had a broken tail... When in fact it was a birth defect... This was so obvious if you are a vet... Just saying... They could have asked me about her tail instead of making up more lies... If you are able to take your fur baby somewhere else I WOULD!!! I have heard from a few people saying bad things about this place.

Elizabeth Nicholson

We're so thankful to SAVES for taking such wonderful care of our dog when she was in need of emergency care! Our neighbor told us about them - the 30 minute drive was certainly worth it. They are caring and professional, explaining everything while also comforting us. Thanks so much to the entire staff, from front desk to doctor!

Audrey Gayle

Dr. Ruth seems knowlegeable and is very friendly, which always makes the process easier. I've noticed comments about overcharging - My baby, Francis, had a previous surgery at Saves for a pretty bad hernia, to the tune of 3k. Dr. Smith performed the surgery and I now wonder if she 'caught everything ' because I had tp bring Francis back for yet another hernia surgery! I want to be fair. maybe the hernia came up later, who knows? I really was touched by Dr. Ruth's caring and general joi de vivre. I knew she'd handle the sitch with noooo problem. I am happy to say that the bill was 500$ less than last time, so I'm grateful for that but I did feel a little 'nicked' at check-out time by a 400$ 'add-on' due to complications during surgery. Did the complications occur because of medical error or was it force majeur? Again, who knows? Having said all of that, I very much appreciate the informative, kind and competent assistance to me and Francis. God Bless You All. Thanks, Elizabeth Hoeveler

Dave Miller

TJ our Great Dane hurt his neck and we could not be morepleased with the care he recieved. Dr. Johnson is fabulous!

Megan Kocikowski

It is never an easy experience having to make the conscious decision that it is time to put your dog down. When I came to such a realization a few weeks back my regular vet informed me they'd be closed that evening by the time I could get there but they recommended SAVES as an alternative. The employees at SAVES were attentive, understanding, and patient. And based on the rate they charged me to have my dog put down compared to rates I researched online, they clearly are not trying to profit off of this heartbreaking experience. They put us in a room to say goodbye to my dog and told us to take as much time as we needed. They explained everything every step of the way. You could see their empathy as they watched what we were going through. They were patient as I let my other dog adjust to and understand the situation at hand (I brought him along). They provided a "coffin" box of sorts and even brought the coffin out to load my baby in my car. All of that was already above and beyond the call of duty. When I received a condolence card from them in the mail I was truly overwhelmed. Thank you so much to South Atlanta Veterinary Emergency & Specialty to being the silver lining in an awful situation.

Kay Sanders

We were referred to Dr. Storey by our Veterinarian in Macon for our Cavalier King Charles thinking he had glaucoma. After examination, Dr. Storey referred us to a Neurologist in Woodstock and recommended we go immediately to their facility that afternoon. 3 days later, our dog is still at the Neurologist with infection of his brain and optic nerve. Had we not gotten our dog to the Neurologist that day, our dog might not have survived another few days. We so appreciate Dr. Storey's expertise and assistance in getting the best care for our Ace. Both he and his staff showed such compassion for our dog and us from Dr Storey personally contacting the Neurology facility and his staff helping with driving directions from their facility to the Woodstock facility during the heavy traffic period. Can't say enough good about SAVES.

Sarah M. Ortiz

I love this place, ESPECIALLY if you have to put your babies to sleep. Last night I visited their new location for the first time. I realize some people complain about the prices, but I was pleasantly surprised with the charges. My regular vet charges more for a CBC (and this is not the first time I find their individual charges to be less than my vet), so aside from the visit charge, I found their pricing extremely reasonable. I love their staff's compassion and enthusiasm.

I give 3 stars because I have been here previously with a different cat and it was okay...not great but nothing too terrible. Tonight we took our cat that just had dental surgery in because somehow she scratched her eye or had something in it and it was very milky. We waited 2.5 hrs and 45 mins in an exam room with our cat somewhere in the back. No one came in to update us or anything l. I got cold and went back out front to sit and the tech came out with someone's dog. She gave me a quick look and scurried off. At that point no one was in the lobby waiting. She came back shortly thereafter and quickly handed off paperwork to the receptionist and scurried off again. I waited a few more minutes and went back into the exam room. I could hear them talking and laughing in the back. Still no update. I go back and tell the receptionist I need to go. She was gone for several minutes and I finally called the main number and asked them to bring my cat out cause I'm leaving. She finally comes out and proceeds to talk about how busy they were. Yes I understand. Then she goes on about how 2 animals crashed and had to be intubated. There was an awful lot of laughing and talking back there for such a situation. I said well I guess my cats eye isn't that serious so we will just go. We will just have to drive somewhere else. They dont seem to be very serious here.

The doctors and staff here did a tremendous job caring for our pet. I'm sure they do not see very many calm people based on the nature of the services they provide, but they provided calming words and support during a scary time. We were able to get our pet back to see someone in no time and they made sure to take the time to answer all of our questions and address all of our concerns and worries. Highly recommend them for any and all pet emergency needs.

Rebecca Cabe

As always, staff very helpful in getting you checked in and explaining procedures. Dr's and techs very caring and explain in great detail what is going on with your pet.

April Renee

The staff was wonderful when we had to put our family dog to sleep. They made an extremely sad day just a little bit better with their love and compassion. Highly recommend.

Dr.Storey saved my dog’s eyes from going blind !! After searching,we went to several other optimologist and they couldn’t diagnose my dog properly...Not only did he find out what the problem was,he performed surgery on her the same day of her check up ..I’m so grateful for what he has done for my babygirl ..Since birth she’s always struggled to open her eyes and lived inside her kennel ..Because of Dr.Storey she got her life back !!!

Before I️ went there I️ read the reviews and seen some ppl was complaining but I️ tried for myself... I’m not mad because I️ real the reviews so its my fault for still going I’m telling you now it’s a waste of money

My husband & I had been referred to SAVES by our local vet. One of our dogs had developed cataracts on both eyes & we opted to take him in to have surgery before his vision became any worse. He is an elderly dog & has to be taken out to go potty fairly often. I had told the staff that if he barked, he needed to go out. We left when he was taken back for the surgery, but received a call to come back to SAVES. His heart would not tolerate the antisthetic. The second we walked in the door I could hear him barking. We waited 15-20 minutes to be called back to a room to speak to the vet in charge of his care. All the time he is barking. I brought it to the vet's attention, but he was totally unconcerned. It then took several more minutes to get him released. When we were finally able to get him outside, he urinated for almost a full minute.

So my puppy got scratched by a friends cat. It wasn't bad but my puppy is like my child. I take it up to saves and a sweet clinical worker in scrubs was like oh should only have to clean and shave the wound so won't be long and 40.00$. Well I'm comes Dr. Christopher Johnson and he's like oh it's just a little nick. I heard my dog crying and he said oh he's just in the cage. Anyway after spending 10 min inside this Dr. Johnson who has his 37 pieces of flare on his lab coat ( office space) sent in another nurse saying the bill was 278.95. I paid it of course, and got home and went over the bill. Basically this Dr. Is a hustler and cheese ball. The receipt says exam fee 125$ but adding all the extra non sense was absolutely ridiculous. Btw the only reason I went here because the vets were closed. Dr. Johnson due us a favor and don't overcharge hard working middle class /veteran because you want a new Porsche. I would avoid this doctor, staff was actually fantastic!

saivdbygrace

All this place cares about us money! They could care less that the animal you love is dying, it’s first give us the thousands of dollars and then we will try and save your animal! They should be ashamed!

J T

I believe this place is open 24/7, which is very nice to have locally. They actually treated my cat, Kevin, as a part of the family and took very good care of him during his treatment. Another thing I loved about SAVES was that they kept us well-informed of our cat's situation and made a point to let us know that we can call or visit at ANY time to check on him.

This is the best emergency care on the south side of Atlanta. The staff are professional and compassionate. Also, the specialty departments help animals in amazing ways from complex surgeries to treating serious chronic conditions. They are a 24/7 vet hospital and it is reassuring to know that kind of care is available for animals.

Leah Weeks

The surgery department is wonderful!! They were very accommodating and got my dog in right away after she broke her leg at a boarding facility. They were able to provide consultation and surgery the same day. Other specialty clinics in the area had a one week waiting period just for a consultation. The staff was kind and stayed in communication with me throughout the day. Hands down best specialist in the greater Atlanta area. They truly care about you and your fur baby at SAVES surgery center.

Marie George

I want to start by saying, many of these reviews complain about money because they don't understand how medical billing works. This staff is very caring and very professional/knowledgeable. My husband and I rushed our 2yr old great dane here on Tues evening due to heat stroke. Dr. Sanders was hopeful but cautious, he was in critical condition and the next 24hrs would determine his prognosis. They let me call as many times as I wanted, and every time I was able to speak to a vet for an update. I was able to visit whenever I wanted and they explained everything along the way. He received the best treatment possible for his condition, and never once did they guilt trip us if finances were going to be where we'd have to draw the line. He received constant care and monitoring. They truly did everything they could. Unfortunately, Caboose could not support himself without the treatments and therefore was on chemical life support. Dr. Johnson was super supportive. He even got on the floor with us and talked with us about our memories of our sweet dog. We shared some laughs and tears. Although, I wish Caboose was here, I know if this staff couldn't save him, no one could. This place gave him the best possible chance.

Tangie Wiggley

The service was amazing. The staff front and back were very helpful. I can’t thank the Doctor enough for staying late just to see us and make sure Shane was not in pain. We couldn’t have had a better experience. Thank you ❤️

Debra Clark

Very kind, caring staff in time of need.

John Poage

Terrible people here. Minimum charge just to look at any pet is $130. They are only in it for the money. My Great Dane had to have its tail removed due to gang green set in. They quoted me $2600 to remove the tail. I told them no we will wait until the holidays are over and take it to a real vet. They kept telling me that she needs surgery or she going to be septic and die. I told them you should be ashamed of yourself charging that amount of money. So we waited 2 days and found a vet that was open and they removed it for $900, plus my dog was in no danger whatsoever. They will tell you anything to make you pay for it but don't do it. Don't even take your animals to them. Always wait

Kelsey Rudd

After our first experience with SAVES, we will not be back. It was the most disappointing and unprofessional experience I have ever encountered, and I am unsure how Dr. McIntire is allowed to practice. We arrived around 10:00pm on a Sunday with a vomiting cat. We were told there were two euthanasias before us so we would have to wait a bit. We were happy to respectfully wait. While waiting in an exam room, the staff was cutting-up, laughing, and yelling joyfully (loud enough to be heard throughout the facility). I turned to my boyfriend and said, "can you imagine having to lose a member of the family and listen to that?". It was very rude and unprofessional. When Dr. McIntire entered the room, I stood to shake her hand, she told me to sit down, did not shake my hand nor introduce herself. She immediately started lecturing us about "eye herpes" secondary to my cat squinting her eyes (for what I assume was from waking up upon Dr. McIntire entering combined with fluorescent lights). Then, once she realized we were there for vomiting, she abrasively starting asking us questions. I began to tell her the sequence of events, moving from Saturday to Sunday. She quickly yelled in a loud and rude tone, "I"M STILL ON SATURDAY!". I explained to Dr. McIntire that we were seen by our primary vet on Friday and Saturday and would be returning first thing on in the morning. I had consulted my aunt who is a vet out-of-state, and we were simply there to make sure our cat would make it through the night, check temp, and get fluids. When Dr. McIntire realized we were not interested in further x-rays and blood tests, she told me that I should just drive to Tennessee to see my aunt. I told her "That's silly. We are just trying make sure our cat is ok". She responded with, "Well, it's not that far". At that point, I excused myself from the room. Upon leaving, she threw the cat carrier on the table and told my boyfriend we could leave. He explained we would not be leaving as our cat's health was our priority for the night. We ended up getting our fluids and after a long journey it seems our kitty is going to be ok. However, leaving an emergency vet at 12:30am in tears due to being disrespected was enough for me to know we will be driving elsewhere for any future emergency needs. *Side note: We brought records and blood work with us. Neither our primary vet, my aunt, nor the vet (GI surgery) we have most recently seen, indicated any concern about blood work. Dr. McIntire led us to believe that there was something gravely wrong with our cat based on her lab results we brought. She was 1 out of 4 vets we consulted who brought this up, and she was very incorrect. Not to mention caused us great worry and stress until we received further answers.

Took my dog to SAVES Center when normal vet was closed. They were very friendly and professional. We were able to get in and out with a clear understanding of what was wrong. I especially liked the email after services were rendered, that described the entire visit with the diagnosis and treatment plan. The center also made sure they only treated what was necessary and best for my pet, which I appreciated.

Michelle Cummings

The staff took really good care of my dog, Maxwell, when he was in congestive heart failure. They were able to get him on the right meds and help breath with oxygen. I highly recommend them when your pet is in distress. You can tell that the entire staff cares about animals and that this isn't just a job for them. I appreciate everything they did to help my little man get better.

Thomas Kuzniacki

Our golden retriever just spent two nights at SAVES and was being treated for pneumonia. Everyone on the staff was extremely professional and the treatment he received from the veterinarians was exceptional. We knew he was in the best hands and totally trusted the recommendations. He is home now and continuing to heal thanks to SAVES! We highly recommend their veterinary services.

My boyfriend was walking our dog and a stray dog bit him. My puppy was a mini aussie blue merle and his name was blue. My boyfriend took him to this place when I got there and saw how bad in a condition he was I couldnt help but to burst out crying. I never knew I could feel so horrible over a pet, but Blue was my baby. Eventually, they said that they were going to see how he reacted to the medicine they gave him and they would call us to give us updates on him. The nurse said he was getting better then when we called later that night she said he had two seizures. We went to go check on him and the doctor basically said he was blind and that she didn’t see any hope for him, but when we would see him he would try to walk but couldnt. Me and my boyfriend couldnt afford for him to stay there so she suggested us putting him down. We had no choice, but before we even signed anything. Supposedly one of the doctors or nurses said that she wanted to adopt him and so I agreed because I would rather him be with someone who is a professional than them put him down. I called so many times to see if I could know how he was but they said she would have to personally contact us. It’s been 6 months and never heard back. There is not one day that passes by that I do not think about Blue. I wish that one day she calls and tells me he’s okay..

david alvarado

Extremely professional Vet Service. It is absolutely the best Vet Dr you can bring your pet to. Do not go to Newnan come to Fayetteville and get your pet healed fast by REAL Drs.

Christina Tanzella

Dr. Johnson was amazing. Never before has a vet (or any physician for that matter!) spent that much time going over information with me, answering all my questions, etc without once acting like he had somewhere else to be. The techs were also super sweet, especially Katie, and great with my sick pup. So fortunate these people do what they do at all hours of the night!

Elizabeth Daniel

Came in this evening after coming home to find my dog being unable to walk and my vet referred me to SAVES. We were seen very quickly and saw Dr. Johnson who after checking her out gave a diagnosis of arthritis. Dr. Johnson was friendly, knowledgeable and thoughtful. He provided the consultation free of charge and is even going to provide his review to our vet to which we are going to see tomorrow. We wish the office provided non-emergency services as we would switch vets to Dr. Johnson. Great service!

Paige Beavers

They were absolutely the kindest when I had to put my beloved dog down last week. I will forever be grateful for their care and concern of sweet Sophie.

A. Hood

I wish I did my research on this place. They could've saved my dog.. they really could! I took my dog there Tuesday night and he died within 8 hours. I've never seen a place that put money before the help of a family pet. The prices are ridiculous! So thanks a whole bunch! My Blue passed away comfortable at home! #pitbull #blue

I see that some people has had very good experience while others have had terrible experiences. While mines is bitter sweet I would like to start off by saying I called the emergency room and stated that I needed to bring my dog in due to she wasn't feeling well and very weak. Keep in mind my dog was able to stand on her own and move on her own before we got there. She was responding but still weak. They said it would be a charge to see her which is understandable. However once we go there we was the first and only individuals there at 1 am in the morning. About 2 minutes after we arrived another patient came in fine. But however they completely stopped working on my dog and began servicing another. Once they took my dog to the back they put her in a cage and left her there for over 4 hours while servicing another patient. I never got to see my dog once while she was back there however the others was able to go back and sit with their dog. In the meantime the doctor at the time came in and gave and theory of what she though may be going on with my dog. It went from cancer, dehydration, and the list goes on and on. So blood test was performed or at least I'd like to think so after I paid for the blood work. Then the doctor takes another 1 and a half to come back to me as she continues to work an the other dog. Then she states again what she think is wrong and asked me to pay another fee in order to prove what she though was going on at the time. They had not done any work on my dog what so ever she sat in the cage the entire morning alone. So after about 5-6 pages of charges later my dog still has not been seen and they constantly want me to pay up front before anything was done. WELL HERE'S THE KICKER THE INDIVIDUAL WHO CAME IN 2 MINUTES AFTER I DID PAID AFTER SERVICES WAS PERFORMED WHICH THEY LEFT BEFORE I DID. Finally a tech comes out with the same clipboard of 5-6 pages of different procedures they would like to try which was not guarantees of working. The next thing to do was to bring my dog from the back which remember she was fully responsive now not even responding. They was suppose to give her a shot which look like a death shot was given. NO HELP NOR REMORSE WAS GIVEN AS THEY CONTINUED TO WANT MONEY ON A THEORY OR THOUGH OF WHAT MAY BE GOING ON WITH MY DOG.

Stanton Kinchen

Is the best place you could carry your pet in any emergency or special surgery for eyes and more the people there are there because they care for animals and I have seen that first hand thank you all the staff at saves

Aimee Cisneros

We paid thousands of dollars just for them to end up killing my cat even after he was getting better. They claim the didn't know what went wrong even though the surgeon was with him the whole time. They didn't seem remorseful. Save your cash and go somewhere else where they'll actually save your pet.

Whitney Graves

My dog was bit by a snake and the attention and care they provided for my little guy was above amazing. I'm so thankful for them and saving his life.

David Sudduth

Excellent as always. Dr. Storey and his staff are fantastic.

This is the only place to take your babies to when their in need of emergency care & I don't say that lightly! I truly am amazed at how professional, well trained & caring the Staff & Vets are at SAVES. I gave this Hospital Five Stars because they earned it. My Little guy also See Dr. Goodwin that is associated with Saves as their Cardiologist & he a great doctor. My Nick is 14 years old & very tiny he weighs less four pounds was having breathing trouble once arriving at Saves they took him & placed him in oxygen. Within a few hours they had him diagnosed, treating him & on his way to recovery. Nick is home now & feeling much better thanks to Dr. Goodwin & Saves. I can not thank you enough for all the care & love your Hospital gives so professional & willing to go the distance to make sure I got my Nick home & healthy. Will definitely recommend you highly to anyone who need Hospital care for there pets. Thanks Saves!

The most caring vets and staff. The sweetest people. They are very thorough and professional about pet's options and always recommend the best even and specially if it is the less expensive treatment. They have found conditions that the regular vet didn't. Keep you informed of all the expenses and dedicate all the time to explain if needed. If you want to take your pet home to care for her yourself, they will patiently train you and give you all the indications and materials to do it so. They even tell you if the meds your baby need are cheaper in human pharmacies. Great honest professionals.

Hobbs-Wood Family

Our family member, Husker, had a disc slip in his neck. Unfortunately we ended up having to put him down. But, on a Friday late night and coming from Newnan, GA., the staff and the Doctor were awesome. The explained everything and made sure options were discussed. Couldn't ask for a better place and staff.

Rachel Chandler

Excellent services and people. They're fixing my Dunky right up ☺

Carol Turner

Always professional! Saved my Mike when he had a urinary block. Glad they take Care Credit!

My family was traveling and had 5 hours left in our trip when our dog got sick. I am so thankful that we were near SAVES, because they took amazing care of us and our dog. She is completely back to normal! Every staff member we encountered was wonderful and I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you SAVES!!

My dog went to the groomer on a Friday afternoon for a summer cut. He acted anxious when we got home, then the next day was licking and dragging, then by Sunday he was yelping and whining and cowering so we took him to S.A.V.E.S. It was a 3 hour process, even after we were placed in front of others because of our dog's loud yelping and whining. The vet said he had "inflamed anal glands" and assured us that the grooming had nothing to do with his discomfort. We got medication and a collar and were charged $279. By Tuesday the dog was even worse and had refused to go to the bathroom for a couple of days so we called S.A.V.E.S. for a followup visit. However, we were told there was no such thing as a "follow up" and that we would have to pay an additional $125 to be seen as if it was a new case. I asked for special consideration but were told the full charge was required as "company protocol". We declined and went to another reputable vet who confirmed that he had indeed been cut too closely and had been misdiagnosed by the clinic. He was worse because we were putting medication on the wrong area as directed by the S.A.V.E.S. vet and were told that his anal glands were not inflamed. The S.A.V.E.S. staff was courteous but inefficient, they completely misdiagnosed my dog, causing him prolonged suffering, and then were unreasonable and callous about following up on his "medical plan". This will be my last visit to this place.

On 4/28/2019 My brother took his dog Honey to this emergency clinic- she had been hit by a car. Damaged her leg to the bone – Vet Sanders was great explained all the options. We wanted to try and keep her leg we were there at 11am to 10 pm. The estimate charge was a little over a thousand dollars. That was ok for emergency on a Sunday. We wanted Vet Sanders to see her a few more times before taking Honey to her vet. She did not make it to Wednesday 4/30/2019 she could not eat, very sick. My brother took her back to the emergency vet office at South Atlanta Venetian Hospital. Different Vet working yesterday Vet Mackenzie before anything was done for her My brother was given the estimate Two thousand this one visit. How can that be this was a second visit? He asked that they re wrap her leg she was going to her vet in Morrow Georgia, Where she was taken care of yesterday with antibiotic shot pain medication re wrapped. She will be going back for a long time every day. They have worked out pay arrangements for her ---- My problem is why $2000.00 for a second visit. Makes me realize her best interest was not taken in consideration By the second Vet it was all about money. Read the reviews !!!!!! I saw your response to my feed back Friday May 10th, my brother called the phone number provided.on your response before 12 pm on the 10th. He was told you were not there and would not be back for several weeks..

Pat Caldwell

Dr.Johnson is wonderful. He found what was wrong with my Lizzie sms sent us for more intense treatment. He even called me a wrk later to see how she was. Great service.

Janet Baker

I have read the other reviews that people have written and given only 1 star and i am sorry that you had a bad experience but i must disagree with your statements. I went to this facility for the first time on Sunday May 5, 2013 with my dog that i had for 16 years. Her name was Peaches. Peaches had been going through the old age dying process for one week and i was devastated but i had to put her to sleep because i could not see her suffer any longer. The two ladies at the front desk and the lady technician that helped me were nothing but wonderful to me and my husband. They all understood the grief i was going through and handle my feelings with the utmost compassion. They gently took peaches into the exam room and talked to her and told me i could spend as much time as i needed with her before saying goodbye. This was one of the most saddest days for me. Peaches had been my best friend for 16 years. The best thing about the whole process was the fact that they took peaches once she had gone to heaven and prepared her body and placed her in the sweetest white cardboard coffin and wrote the sweetest message on the top of it. I would have never thought that a place like that would do something so nice for us animal lovers. Most Vet's would just have you carry them home yourself. Southern Crescent also took a print of her paw and placed it in clay for me to have a long lasting memory of Peaches. I want to thank each and everyone of you that were there that day. You helped make a very, very sad day for me a little easier by being as compassionate as you all were. God bless each of you in a very mighty way.

Agnes Hee

Long long long wait. Finally got into the room, wait again. Doctor came. After, wait again. Doctor is very nice, but it's a good thing it wasn't an emergency with my dog. I hate to think what would have happened. I got there Friday evening, it seems like they only have one vet in house.

Jane Hayes

We have used both the emergency services as well as the specialty services at SAVES and have been totally satisfied. The entire staff is professional and the veterinarians are superb. Saves is a wonderful resource for all pet owners.

Tiffany Dawn

The team here was so compassionate and they saved my cats life. They helped me understand options and truly cared for us. I will never forget how they helped my Eddie aka Little

Betsie Coe

SAVES did a great job with my pup. Many thanks!

The one in Fayetteville is the worst place you could ever take your pick very unprofessional tell you one thing then come back and tell you something else our pet Bella was taking their Saturday January 19th with her eyes open moving around they said they had to do blood work to find out what was wrong with her but they needed the money up front they was paid $400 I don't remember what time we got there but we stay in Thomaston she was ignored why are some other people came in they took care of them Bella was just laying back there 4 Hour finally they came back and said she would need a blood transfusion I'm thinking they said it would be 2100 of course we did not do that when they brought Bella back out they brought her out in a tower her tongue was hanging out her mouth and it's like she was in a deep sleep now I know they had to know did she was dying so why would they just say that when she got back home she was not moving or doing anything I watched her the whole night it was 5 a.m. when we when we got back to Thomaston I close my eyes for a little while and jump back up she was gone why would you charge somebody money like that when you know she was dying I pray for you all and God bless you but that was so wrong

Elaine Truelove

Professional staff, no long wait times. This is a great place for your pet’s special care.

Paige Beavers

They were absolutely the kindest when I had to put my beloved dog down last week. I will forever be grateful for their care and concern of sweet Sophie.

Nancy Mcelreath

Very nice to me and to kitah. They handled her very gently so she was still while they were doing the test. She did not try to fight at all. I hope my animals never need emerge cy care but if the do that is where I would go. I also like the cardiologist that did her test.

Petal Pink_S

...state of the art facility! Down Payment requested before Emergency Services are rendered. Bring your paycheck...

Rebecca Harrison

This place is the best! The staff is wonderful and they take such good care of the animals. I had to leave my dog overnight and I slept stress free knowing she was in the best hands.

E Edw

Very expensive treatment and they care about money first. Money, money, money. They took care of my cat and treated him well. I have no complaints about the care my pet received. The staff was friendly. They would come explain the tests they wanted to run and then say they needed payment up front. When we asked about treatment alternatives they pushed for the more costly options. I'm comparing this visit with the other vet I transferred him to that went over treatment options and then took my cat off to be treated without mentioning price, cost, or asking for payment up front. The other vet prioritized treating my pet and this one prioritized money. This vet left me feeling uneasy.

Nancy King

They were GREAT!

Tommie Keebaugh

It is so comforting to have SAVES available 24 hours a day 7 days a week and to know the staff provides excellent care for my four legged crew. It is also consoling to get to know the staff members and be able to rely on the expert attention they give to my animals as well as the compassionate support they provide for me. I am so very thankful to have the facility and the wonderful members of the staff as part of our community. Tommie Keebaugh

Rachel Norris

Very friendly staff. Dr. Smith was amazing and took great care of our cat Pete. We appreciate you saving her life and being so empathetic. Pete has a new lease on life because of your expertise and caring nature.

Audrey Muldoon

It is always stressful when you find yourself at an emergency clinic with a loved pet. The staff at SAVES were very kind and understanding.

Nichole Bizzell

Truly the most amazing and patient people. So much so, I just spent 10 minutes waiting for my internet to cooperate with me just to leave this review. I call them all the time, for everything and they’re always so kind. Tonight I accidentally gave an extra heart worm dose to my pups and the woman on the phone (wish i remembered her name!) was like “breathe mom, they’re okay!” when I was freaking out. I love that they understand how much we worry about our babies and don’t make us feel silly for calling in about the littlest things. I’m very thankful for them

Liz Damaso

I took my one-eyed dog in because she could barely keep her eye open and had discharge coming out of her eye. The receptionist was rude when I asked about the price for the exam going up she responded with an attitude... We got there at 745 pm and the vet didn't come around until 10pm after I complained multiple times about the wait. I understand other dogs had emergencies but they could've been more proactive about my dog instead of having us just wait there. It's sad how they make so much money off of our pet's pain and suffering and can't even provide good customer service. Needless to say, my dog lost her eye and am sure that having her wait most of the night for treatment directly contributed to this!

Timothy Jackson

I would like to take the time to let each and everyone that reads this post I can't be more grateful for the Facility and the Staff at SAVE ( South Atlanta Veterinary Emergency ) - went out of there way to make sure that we were comfortable and made sure that Courtney was comfortable as well. I truly not sure what we would have done if we didn't take her into the Emergency Hospital at the time of need. Once again this is a great Hospital and definitely will refer them to any pet owner and recommend that they use them. Thanks Aubrey, Timothy, and Courtney

Keith Webb

Only place we trust to have our patients’ care continued after hours. Specialist are available for those more critical cases.

Jan Grogan

My old American Eskie had an abscessed tooth that Southern Crescent was able to easily identify as well as start treatment with antibiotics on the weekend to enable me to help my dog get some relief before I was able to see my primary vet the following weekend. I have used Southern Crescent to several of my dogs and cats and am always impressed with their caring and professional service!

Justin Martin

Great bedside manners and very informative and caring!

Taylor McCullough

My mom had to take her dog in one night last week around 10:30 / 11:00 pm so I rode over there with her (we are from Newnan). We showed up, explained the situation, the technician took her dog back and then came back about 3 minutes later (no joke) and then said we were good to go. NO CHARGE AND ALL SMILES!!!

I have been there 4 or 5 times. Every time I had a great experience. No complaint about the price. I have paid more for a worse experience at another emergency veterinary clinic.

First time taking my dog to this facility. Very impressed with how nice everyone was from the front desk staff and especially Dakota who was very professional . My dog JJ was very comfortable with her. Dr Storey explained everything in detail about my dogs condition. I recommend this facility for anyone who has a pet in need of care.

Twice I've been here with two of my hounds and when I thought they were so sick and fearful I would have to put them to sleep, turns out of course I was wrong and to me they saved the lives of my babies. They are so caring and have ease my mind and hugged me to assure me they will be fine and just needed some neds and extra caring!!!

Sadly, we had been referred to SAVES by our Vet to have specialized testing done, in an attempt to determine why our beloved dog was losing his ability to walk. The facility is extremely clean, and the staff members are superb. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is compassionate about their pet(s).

I have mixed reviews of this place. 3 years ago, they saved my mom's cat, Oreo. Also, just a few days ago they saw Oreo and gave him great care, after having to wait in a room from 9:30 pm until 1:30 AM before he was even seen by a doctor. However, when they saw my cat, Boots I did not feel the same care was given. Maybe the bed side manner was just not well, but I felt totally defeated after seeing them. I had an amazing experience at Crossroads and another amazing experience at the specialist my kitty went to. However, with this place, I was told my kids would understand and understand more than I would think and that I should put him down. I tried to explain that I felt I needed to do everything I could for my pet that my kids view as their own sibling. And I was told I had already done enough by bringing him to the vet at 2 am. I was also told by one of the nurses that "I just about killed you cat drawing blood." Then she explained what she did. The way it was described to me, was not done in the best way and I felt they could have been more compassionate towards the situation. I was also told over and over how they can't do much testing and what not due to them closing at 7 am in the morning. As well as when I first arrived, they said my cat was stable and left us in a room for almost an hour without him being seen. When, in fact, he was in critical condition. Overall, it's hard for me to review this place due to what my personal experience is. However, I will say that they did save my mom's cat so I guess they aren't all bad. Overall, if you can help it though, I would suggest waiting until your regular vet opens and bringing them there.

I have used SAVES a few times all with outstanding results. The staff is professional and has the needed equipment for specialized work. I'm so glad they are available and unlike emergency vets I have been to before, they can keep your dog during the day if necessary. Other emergency vets I have used are only open at night and on weekends, so if your dog needs continued care as is often the case with an emergency, I had to pick my dog up before 8am and take him to my regular vet and then return to my vet at 5pm get the dog and return him to the emergency vet everyday until the crisis passed. Thank goodness for SAVES!

I called after reading all the reviews to make my dog a appointment due to her vision and her being diabetic. They advertise as being a specialty clinic but When I called they told me that they treat eyes that they could not see her for her diabetes. Then I was told that everything had to be paid upfront. Money was never the issue. My dog's care was the issue. I asked the lady that answered the phone why they advertised as a specialty clinic if they only did eyes and emergency care. After being told more than once that everything had to be paid up front when I never asked about cost this makes it very clear that this office is only worried about money!! I would drive to Atlanta instead of 15 minutes away to go to this office. There is no price on the care we give our animals and this clinic is only worried about money.

I inherited my mother in law's 14 year old Pekingese when she passed in early April. I hadn't had Muppet two weeks before she injured an eye, badly enough it might not have been saved. On very short notice, and on the recommendation of her regular vet, the ophthalmologist vet examined her and presented several options. Because of Muppet's age, I opted for continuing treatment with medications, not surgery. It is now several weeks later and Muppet is close to a complete recovery. I would not hesitate for a moment to bring any complex situation to SA Vet Emer & Spec Center.

Was referred to SAVES from my vet for my cat's Lens Luxation. I was so nervous about the whole diagnosis. I called to schedule and they told me it was very important for me to come in ASAP. They were able to get me in the next day. The facility is nice and modern. I was there for about 3 hours while my cat received treatment. Dr. Storey was Amazing. Allison at the front desk is so sweet. She went above and beyond to make me more comfortable, you can tell she loves what she does. The entire staff was warm and sweet. By the time I left I was more at eased and felt confident that my cat Jeezy was going to be alright.

We have a bearded dragon and were so happy to find this practice and Dr. Cotton who is an avian and exotics veterinarian. The staff was wonderful, the facility was great and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Cotton.

Not even a star given from me..... I had to click one of them just to post this though. The worst service and ordeal I have ever been through. Never Again! I took my best friend who past away out of the blue completely distraught and couldn't speak or function. Do you think they cared? No they demanded I pay a deposit and wouldn't allow me to drop him off and collect myself and come back. When I went back the next day to arrange everything I needed and a last visit my dogs nose was completely mushed in as if they just tossed him in the freezer any kind of way. I got NO call when his remains came back on November 26th. I finally had to call on December 2nd only to be told he had been there and was I coming today to get him today??? FIRST OF ALL REALLY??? No I think I will let you keep him on your shelf another week!!!! I didn't get his blanket back as promised after calling and being told no it wasn't there.A week later once again I called and was on the phone with yet another person who I had to finally begged crying and had to be rude for her to find it. Customer Service is key and there was NONE.... Only for her to tell me she dropped the ball on calling me for his returned remains and she couldn't go find his blanket and they don't allow visitation to see your animal again.WHAT..... SERIOUSLY....No heart at all. This service was $240.00 of pure hell. He wasn't just a dog to me, he was my family and best friend. I used Union City Emergency Vet on my last dogs remains. I didn't have to pay a dime to leave her, I was treated with deepest sympathy and excellent customer service. When I went back to see her there and at Paws Whiskers & Wags she was beautiful they really cared it was as if she was asleep. And I was called immediately when she was in route back to them. Not me calling them chasing down my best friend who I left in your care and my best friend has been sitting on a shelf for a week because someone clearly cared less. But I cared, didn't even get a apology. I can't even tell you the images of how bad he looked and the last pictures I have and how this whole process alone has made it so much worse on my grieving and very stressful.

Had a wonderful experience with Saves! My poor pup was in a lot of pain and needed a vet fast! We got in did two pages of paper work and they immediately took Chastain in the back and started running tests. The Vet tech and the Vet were amazing and explained everything to me thoroughly. After it was all said and done they let me know where I could go for his surgery and offered their assistance in the process. Also would like to give a shout out to Morgan McMillan for referring me to this clinic. Very clean and nice, a great place to take your pets if they are in pain!! Thank you again for everything you all did for me and Chastain!

COMPLETE FAILURES!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. READ AND WEEP May 23, 2019 To whom it may concern, I am well acquainted with Alex Gresham and her pets. I am also the spouse of a practicing veterinarian in Baldwin County, Alabama who treated and worked with Alex and her pets. Alex phoned me the morning after her puppy Mac Daddy passed away and I was shocked at the details she provided. I have never heard of a veterinarian, presented with vomiting and diarrhea in a puppy, sending that pup home without testing for Parvo (1) and/or (2) strongly recommending hospitalization and IV support. Alex repeatedly called back to let the staff at the hospital know that Mac’s condition had continued and grown more dire and was not encouraged even at that point to return that pup for IV support. For many years prior to my marriage I was the VP of the Baldwin County Humane Society and I have not once, ever in my 50+ years of dealing with the all of the south Baldwin County vets, and supporting staffing at the county shelter, encountered such negligence. A puppy was suffered to death after being presented to an emergency clinic who are supposed to specialize in critical care. Parvo requires the most urgent and consistent critical care. I know Alex to be a very willing and capable pet owner and responsible in the treatment and follow up of all her pets. If she had been instructed to hospitalize Mac the outcome could have been very different. I truly believe that the staff at the emergency clinic was negligent in their testing and treatment of Mac Daddy and lacking in their support of their client Alex Gresham.

They were wonderful with us in a sad time when our 13 year old pit had to be put to sleep after a bad accident. They gave us time with her and were gentle in handling her.
