Our sweet boy Apollo’s life was saved with their quick diagnosis of what the problem was and their immediate reaction time getting him into surgery. Dr. Ocean and another doctor did an amazing job explaining everything every step of the way. We had updated calls with his improvement. Also wanted to give a thanks to Jennifer at the front desk for keeping us calm and addressing all our concerns. I feel like they treated our baby as if he was their own. ❤️

My story doesn’t have a happy ending but my experience was good. My Luigi is terminal and everything happened so suddenly and no one could tell us what was exactly wrong. My husband had to actually get a stretcher to bring him in. Dr. Oshin gave us the answer. The staff here took great care of him and got him to eating and drinking again and he is on couch sleeping as I write this. He is on borrowed time but happy and eating and getting to do all his favorite things. It is a temporary miracle but one I will always be grateful for.

Took our 2 year old Boston Terrier here because he ingested a grape. Have heard that that grapes are toxic for dogs, especially little ones. They took him in right away and got him to vomit it up. They have him some fluids and medicine to avoid kidney failure. I only dealt with three employees, the receptionist, the vet tech, and a veterinarian. Everyone was pleasant and you can clearly tell that they are extremely passionate about their profession. Highly recommend.

The worst - my dog did not get the proper care he needed for the severity of his injuries. I found it funny that they sent him home without any pain killers and these people didn’t even recommend another hospital where he could have been actually seen by a surgeon. What kind of emergency hospital does not have a surgeon, and does not tell you? - a whole week wasted, my dog could have been saved had he been taken to the right emergency animal hospital. We had to put him down, all because of a very careless mistake. So, VERY unprofessional.

I would like to say thank you to everyone at N. GA. Veterinary Specialist for their absolute professionalism helping us in our beloved family dogs final days with a terminal illness. They went above and beyond in the middle of night to help the best they could. Their treatment gave us a few extra days with him that our family desperately needed. I highly recommend their pet care services.

I called about my Min Pin/Chihuahua mix getting into medication and possibly overdosing. The lady that answered first directed me to the Pet Poison hotline (which they were very helpful and informational). When my boyfriend called back and asked to speak to a vet, she flat out said NO. She wouldn't answer any questions or give him any kind of assistance. She was rude and if this was a life threatening situation, my Joey could have suffered and they weren't helping. DON'T TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!! The next emergency room we called IMMEDIATELY had a vet tech on the phone with us. Blue Pearl Veterinary Specialists is our top choice, not here.

Staff appeared caring and concerned about my dog however I feel they played on my emotions to increase their revenue. The intent of my visit was to stabilize my dog until Monday when he could be seen by his regular vet. A treatment plan to give fluids and meds was agreed upon with the Doctor. Dr leaves room in comes tech saying she already drew blood so I agreed to blood tests (since already drawn) but results were inconclusive. Tech steps out Dr comes in and discusses additional testing for $1600 which I declined. Dr's attitude immediately changes stating my dog might not live through weekend and leaves room. Tech comes in later and I have additional questions which she says Dr must answer. Dr does not come back to answer additional questions. Tech comes back in and I request my dog be brought out so we could go home. Her attitude also changes asking if I realize my dog's condition was very serious - which I did but believe nature sometimes needs to take its course. Dog doing much better with fluids/meds as originally agreed upon. I received report bashing me for refusing treatment after several conversations with Dr (false) and says overnight stay was discussed (false) which I declined.

If I could give no stars, I would. We brought our fur baby in yesterday. She was dehydrated and bleeding internally and needed an iv immediately. They rushed her to the back. We sat in the waiting room TWO HOURS with no word on her. We thought she was being treated. The vet finally called us in and said we had to make a decision about her. We did not even get a diagnosis because he was a "surgeon" and not an intern. They did nothing for her the whole time! Apparently, surgeons cannot start an iv of fluids to a dehydrated dog? He had to get "through his caseloads" first! We saw his "caseloads" walking in and out, while we heard the laughter from the exam rooms. Meanwhile, our precious pup was dying! We were finally referred to Blue Pearl, where we should have gone first. But, it was too late. She was bleeding from the brain and had clots in her lungs by then, so she didn't make it. I cannot help but think those two hours in the hands of this incompetent vet and incompetent staff were all it took to lose her! Do not take your fur babies here! Blue Pearl did all they could immediately to save her! This place did nothing!

Kris was fast, friendly, and honest, especially about me keeping myself together for the benefit of my pets mood. I just wish they were closer to where I lived. Literally my only complaint. Thank you Kris.

We got recommended to this facility from our local vet. I called to make sure that they were open and the receptionist was friendly and made sure that a room was ready when we arrived. They went over all of the options and costs. They gave us as much time as we wanted to say good bye to our beloved animal. The doctor who assisted in the procedure was informative and let us know from start to finish on what was going on. It was the hardest decision that we have eve had to make but, it was the best care of that situation that we were given. Thank you for making the last moments with our animal.. very memorable.

Always available for emergency basis. Kind, caring, thorough. We used several times and each time the same consistent treatment. They are a can do clinic. Never had a diagnosis that was over-rules by our regular vet. Very competent. Always received follow up calls from this Emergency Service a few days after utilizing their services to see how our dog was doing. Great bed side manner.-- for the pet and the owner!

The vet seemed knowlegable enough although their prices are kind of high. I received an estimate for a surgical procedure that was 1k higher than 2 others I had for the identical procedure. Of course you do get what you pay for and I'm sure they are very qualified vets but if budget is an issue, as it is for many, keep this in mind.

I love the staff at North Georgia Veterinary Specialists! I volunteer with a small pet rescue with limited resources. I have taken several foster kittens here for emergency care and the staff, including the veterinarians, have given these poor homeless kittens thorough, top quality care, always sensitive to the fact that our rescue operates on a tight budget. The doctors have always taken time to explain their diagnoses and answer any questions I have. I've never felt rushed or treated with disrespect and my kittens were also treated with kindness. They have saved the lives of more than one very sick kitten and i am so grateful they are nearby. I have found everyone there to be very caring and compassionate, including when my friend had to have her kitten euthanized. They coukdnt have been kinder or more patient. I love this place.

I went in Saturday night which was 12/9 and my dog had a problem with her eye which her eye had to be removed because I didn’t have the money to pay at the moment for this place to take care of the issue! I was told I was only going to have to pay $89 plus $20 for the pain medication which did not end up happening, I ended paying $190 for everything, this place does not care about anything Nor animals, me being a human would have tried to work with someone that had an emergency like my dog who at the ended lost her eye for not being able to pay at that moment is he most tragic thing that could happen, I had my 4 year Old son with me and wasn’t tired and just for them to make her comfortable! What really got me was that Christy or Christine upfront told be if I didn’t have he $89 I wasn’t going to be seen and they were going to dismiss me, yes I understand company policy but no heart what so ever when it was time for payment I and she me how much I was going to pay, I questioned it and her response was if I have to repeat myself more han once, we are going to have a problem! I ended up having to pay and I left, while I was waiting to be finished she completely ignored me at the register and when I handed her money she said *uck cause she was mad Because my response to her was let’s get this over with cause my son is tired and I don’t want you to repeat your self more than once and could not count money. She is awful and I was already emotionally not stable and she didn’t care! Thank you guys for not working with me I offered to pay 1/2 and asked if we can do a payment plan and you guys said it takes one person to ruen it for everyone but I guess money to y’all is more important than the care of our animals! It’s disappointing and I’m disgusted by this place! No consideration and no heart! For them to fix my dogs eye was going to be 568 which I understand it’s business but no compassion!

It was probably the best of a bad situation. I woke up to find my sweet Princess Caroline in distress. She had been sick and I had been providing palliative care at home. Overnight everything had changed, and she needed care immediately. When local animal emergency rooms wouldn’t answer their phones, I called NGVS and headed in their direction. They understood what I was saying when I brought her in and they placed a catheter (a 26G catheter on tiny failing cat veins is talent). I said my final good byes and her suffering was over. It was a really hard day, but despite the terrible situation the doctor and the tech were great.

My basset hound was hit by a car on Friday night. It was very traumatic and upsetting. The folks at NGVS go beyond the call of duty! Their entire staff was friendly and helpful. My baby ended up having to have his leg amputated. They took extraordinary care of him and kept me informed every step of the way. I HIGHLY recommend this company to everyone.

On a weekend morning, our doggie started having severe bleeding. We took her in and she was immediately examined and evaluated. Dr. Kevin came and spoke to us. He did not recommend unnecessary tests or procedures. He talked with us at length about what to do. We left with meds for the weekend and followed up with our regular vet on Monday. Happy to report she is doing very well. If our doggie has any more emergencies, we will certainly return here.

Our puppy was kept over night & we were charged $750 for her to be discharged with a diagnosis of “fever of unknown origin” less than 12 hours later we were back at an emergency veterinary hospital (NOT NGVS) because we followed our gut & went to a different Emergency clinic! Thank god we did. We now have a REAL DIAGNOSIS of pneumonia on this pitiful 18 week old puppy who has a Temperature of 104.5!

I watched this animal get hit by a car, brought it in and they turned me away. The animal has a busted leg, blood everywhere, wheezing, and obviously hurting. You all are a terrible excuse for a vet office.

Christy Jones

Highly recommend. Dr. Oshin saved our dog's life. We were referred by another vet/family friend after our small dog was hit by a car. Our pup had internal injuries, open wounds, fractured pelvis, required specialized surgery and spent 8 days at NGVS. He would not be here today without Dr.Oshin and the other staff that cared for him during the 8 days he spent with them. Dr. Oshin spent countless hours with us over the course of several weeks (even after our dog checked out and returned home to another state) discussing every question we had about our dog's recovery, etc. and he was happy to communicate with the medical team who took over once we brought our dog home. So thankful! Dr. Oshin is an OUTSTANDING doctor. Can't thank them enough for saving our much loved dog.

I brought my dog in with a broken leg from a dog fight with puncture wounds. After X-rays, me met with the Dr. which gave us 2 options: 1. $800.00 or 2. $4,000.00 surgery. Due to a tight budget, we opted for the $800.00 amount. After about the third visit, each costing $35.00 to change the bandages from the puncture wounds (it was finally healed) they continued to charge me for each and every visit...a quote of $800.00 turned into $1,100.00. The kicker was when the procedure did not go as planned and they recommended a ankle brace which was to another business that they recommended. The consultation fee was $150.00 and a brace was about $200.00! Then, for the cherry on top, N.G.V.S. wanted to see her again - no doubt to get their cut once again. I own a heating/air conditioning company. If I quoted $800.00 then continued to charge $35.00 for each visit and then I tell you that it was not repaired right but I could send you to another specialist for $350.00-$400.00 but then wanted to see you again at an additional cost, you would tell me to take a hike! I know nothing is guaranteed but still, I feel as though I was “milked” for money based upon the love I have for my dog. I would have preferred that they only quoted me the $4,000.00 amount instead of the $800.00 PLUS that did nothing except to pay them for services that were not up to par.

Id give less than one i called because my kitten opened up her stitches and i couldnt get ahold of her vet so i called to see what i could do in the mean time since i couldnt get in touch with anyone closer and at 1 am i called this place to see if i could comfort her till morning since they were over an hour away.... i was told if i wasnt going to drive my pet in then they couldn't help

RIPOFF, RIPOFF, RIPOFF. That is all I can say. 6-11-2016 went there with small Dotson who was not urinating as much during the day, but in no apparent pain. In no more than a cursory exam, they tried to scare me into paying $2,000 for potential surgery, and even more outrageous wanted to charge $250 for one XRay to even determine if he had any stones. Gouging a pet owner for $250 for one XRay for a very small dog (8 pounds) when the pet-owner is worried for their dog and thus emotionally vulnerable is like gouging hurricane victims $10 to hurricane victim for a necessity of bottled water. Then, even more OUTRAGEOUS, when I stated this was price gouging of people in a vulnerable situation and that I could not pay that much today, ROBIN the admin started to scare and frighten me into going ahead and paying because it was life or death for my dog -- meanwhile, they did not at that time even know that as no exams or tests had even been done other than a very cursory 3 minute physical exam and the dog exhibited no pain what-so-ever! I said no, and then when paying the $89.00 for the office visit, for which I got nothing except a sales-job fear-tactic attempt to gouge me for first $2,000 just to go ahead and operate, then instead for the $250 single XRay, I met another lady there who had just been GOUGED for $800 visit expenses and was quite upset about it and ROBIN tried to tell me to not communicate with each other but we both ignored her and talked about the similar gouging that NORTH GEORGIA VETERINARY was doing to people and doing the egregious scare-tactics on them when they balked at going forward with the gouged-pricing treatments. NORTH GEORGIA VETERNARY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES by such gouging of dog and animal lovers who take their pets there for treatment and then are given the scare-tactic sale job to do a normally $40 XRay for $250 or a $2,000 treatment regime without a confirmed medical result having determined the true issue and other treatment options done first. STAY AWAY............. THIS PLACE IS A BIG RIP-OFF!!

What a group of uncompassionate, unfriendly, money seeking "professionals". After 3 hours and $300.00, we left with a feeling of utter disgust. After arriving,my dog was taken from me. A few minutes later a technician came into the room and stated they were "going to do a treatment". I asked to remain with my dog and was denied. Wasn't informed what type of treatment they were proceeding with nor was I advised of the initial diagnosis. This is totally unacceptable. The Vet had the disposition of a wet blanket. Her attitude was that of someone who just didn't want to be bothered. Given the choice of an animal hospital this will never again be an option. You can guarantee that I will use every tool available to spread the word to the community at large. Clearly this facility takes advantage of the fact that there are few options within the area. What a shame for the animals.

Took my cat here last night. He had plastic caught in the very back of his throat. I spoke with the front desk many times trying to find the location in my panic and she was very helpful. Also, had the door opened waiting for us when we got there. They took him right back. The doctor was able to remove the plastic without and sedation. With a cat! I was very relived and impressed! He was so nice and answered all of our questions. I was nervous to take him as I have heard horror stories of being overcharged when taking to an emergency vet. This was not the case. I highly recommend this place.

I am writing this review with a heavy heart. My experience there was heartbreaking because I had to put down one of my babies. She was a year old and was attacked by a animal and there was nothing my husband and I could do. The staff was wonderful to us and very understanding about our situation. They made a horrible scene slightly easier. Also they followed up by sending a card to us. Thank you everyone.

I'm a new dog owner. My puppy got very sick on Friday night. I called and spoke to Robin (who was a DOLL and calmed me right down because I was a mess). The staff took my puppy in right away, no wait time. Robin kept me calm, which meant the world to me. They explained all the costs before they did anything. Even sent over all the results to my primary vet. I can't say enough about the staff! Wonderful and extremely thoughtful. Thanks for taking great care of my puppy! Thanks from Booker and Ashlee

If you are taking your pet to the emergency hospital you would assume you have the right as owner to stay with your pet during initial examination. Took my dog to this establishment based on reviews given and felt this place would be trustworthy in time of need. I was wrong very wrong. No one explained to us that we weren't allowed to be in the examination room with our pet which I have never experienced such policy having been to other 24hour vet. Hospitals. We wanted our dog back and when we walked out, the front receptionist threatened to call the police on us because they had taken "vitals" and since we signed the paperwork. Note that our dog was gone for less than a few minutes. All we wanted was to be with our dog during the examination and when we choose not too, they threatened with police but not taking in the consideration as a customer. We didn't feel like they valued our time but definitely the fee. I am truly disappointed.

We want to express our gratitude for the caring service they provided for our precious 13 yr old lab/retriever. They were so gentle with her and us when they had to share the devastating news of her prognosis. Everyone, including the Vet himself, was attentive and sympathetic. They gave us meds that allowed her to rally and us to have a precious weekend with her .

Dan Jergler

I wouldn't go back to this place and I'll tell you why.... Our dog was in a FREAK accident and had very serious injuries that ultimately took her life. I don't need to get graphic on this post however long story short she had to be in a massive amount of pain. When we pulled up I had held her in the bed of a pick up truck for the ride. This was by design as I was attempting to minimize her pain and she was unable to sit or lay down. After multiple people that work at this organization had viewed how grave our situation was.... they waited until all the paperwork was filled out before doing anything. I just can't stomach a vet that couldn't get this poor pup some pain meds in advance of finalizing their payment method. I understand it's a business and they need to get paid and was happy to do so for their services. Compassion needs to be balanced with common sense. I would never go back to this place as I feel they have their priorities screwed up. I would have be fine remitting payment in advance of anything else for the simple fact this poor dog needed relief from extreme pain.

When I woke up to my cat having sever health complications, they were open at 6 am and quick to get my information. They were able to diagnose and give me options but we agreed that at her advanced age it would be better to let her sleep. The staff was very understanding to my grief and tears. About a week after I received a card from them for my loss and I think that kind of personal touch speaks volumes. Thank you, I know that kind of workplace can't be easy on your own feelings but I do appreciate what you did then and continue to do.

Crystal Perkins

They took my sick 1 year old cat back immediately. Everyone at the front desk was kind and courteous and Dr. Oshin is very knowledgeable and explained the diagnosis and treatment plan clearly and professionally. He also did not hesitate to answer all our questions and did not pressure us to get tests that weren't necessary because he was certain of the diagnosis, but he did just want us to know the tests were available if we still felt uncertain. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that the wait time was over 2 hours and it didn’t seem like there were that many animal patients (I counted 3 or 4) however they do not allow owners in the back with their animals so there may have been more patients that I could’ve noticed that made the wait time longer or they could’ve been more complicated patients that required more time. Overall, the staff are incredibly caring and I would highly recommend!

Jasmine Choi

I really only gave this hospital a star because it's absolutely necessary and also because of the fact that after the very uncomfortable and unsympathetic visit I had with Dr. Neff, one of her techs sat down next to me and answered questions that the Dr was too good for. I brought my baby in around 4:45 in the morning, panicking because he was shaking and seemed to have a difficult time breathing. He was seen fairly quickly but when I asked the Dr what I felt were valid questions to be asking, she dismissed them as though they were not only irrelevant but stupid. I asked Dr. Neff if when I went home and the shaking continued, did I need to worry or bring him back immediately or could it be expected and should I just ride it out. she retorted "obviously that's not normal" and left her answer at that. Her responses all throughout the early morning were similar. I'm not sure what kind of care my boy received in the back - if it was gentle or rough - but I know that the Dr is very non compassionate or sympathetic to the fact that you as a pet mom are panicking due to what feels like an emergency. I would not want a person like that, whether they have a Dr title or not, to handle my beloved pet. One thing I felt needed to be very clear is that though it may have been 5 am for her, it was ALSO 5 am for me. Except I am the one that was helpless, clueless, anxious, and worried. She could have shown some hospitality and sincerity as a veterinarian. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!

Brian Robinson

Highly recommend! I’m so thankful for the people at this hospital for their quick reaction and compassion. They saved my dogs life.

Ashley Salyers

They charge you an arm and a leg but then don’t do the workup... I went to pick up my deaf seizing dog... three girls were at the front desk doing nothing while my dog was barking nonstop.. they did not blood work... and I received no paperwork with a detailed exam they just told me I was stressing my dog out... I did not even receive Valium to give my dog should he experience more cluster seizures... the night shift staff was very nice.. they let my dog out of the cage to decrease his anxiety.. the day shift just ignored his barking allowing his anxiety to skyrocket increasing his risk for seizures ... not too impressed ... there is room for improvement ..

IF YOUR PET IS IN NEED OF EMERGENCY HELP, YOU MUST BRING THEM TO NGVS! 1. Only $89 for admittance (so so so cheap to be able to bring your pet in at any time day or night 2. Fantastic service from admittance to release 3. The admittance nurse was so welcoming and put everyone at ease when they arrived (an owner's doggie died and the admittance nurse let her cry on her shoulder 4. A seizing dog arrived around 2:30am. The hospital nurses rushed a gurney out to the owner's car and retrieved him tenderly 5. My husband and I were offered bottled water and animal crackers. 6. There was a sweet little white board with the names of all patience from the night. It was so cute to see Rocky's name on the board. 7. The admittance nurse sent a copy of our medical report to our vet (Heart of Suwanee). Within a week we were contacted for a follow up. 8. Lastly, and most importantly, the vet was super! She was calm, informative, and truly concerned.

We have been coming here since they first opened. The entire staff is professional, friendly and always willing to help. I would highly recommend this place for all your pets needs. Dr. Oshin is one of the best, treats your animal like it was his own, very honest and compassionate. If you are going here and expect to pay what u you do at your normal vet think again. This is an emergency hospital just like for humans it costs more. Highly recommend this facility.

Great facility. Lovely and caring staff.

My best buddy (Ranger) became suddenly, very sick last night. We tried rushing him here to get help but before we could make it he passed in the car. The two ladies at the office were beyond kind and caring. She very sweetly let us know what ALL of our options were. When we got to the parking lot she came out and loving picked up dog and cared him inside. They told us they would take care of everything and they did. When she came back out our guy was all taken care of and ready to go to his final resting place. I really do not know what we would have done without these two girls. We chose to bring him home instead of having him cremated. For this option they prepared his body in a nice little box with his name on top and a note to the family. They did not charge us anything for this. That was a small surprise in this horrible evening. They had two different cremation options both were very reasonable in price. I really do not believe I could say enough good things about this place. From my family to this veterinarian family we cannot thank you enough.

Drew Ridgley

My dog has been here twice. Back in October she had to have a cancerous mass removed from her right front leg and they were able to able to successfully remove the mass and provided great care for my dog. This week my dog was very sick so I brought her here and she was evaluated by Dr. Oshin. We came to a decision that she needed to be put to sleep due to how sick she was and poor quality of life she would have. I would to extend a thanks to Kris and Dr. Oshin. They were both very professional and compassionate in their care that they provided my best friend in her final moments.

Pam Romano

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. Our puppy is currently in critical condition in UGA’s veterinary hospital due to negligence on the part of NGVS. She has a spinal infection of which indicators were evident in her over $1200 work up at NGVS, but were not discussed with me nor even initially disclosed to me. NGVS diagnosed her with a torn CCL and wanted to do surgery. Due to her young age we opted to pursue laser treatment elsewhere; thank God we did because she does NOT have a torn CCL. I could go on and on about the mishandling of her case. Avoid the heartache we continue to go through and drive the extra distance to UGA.

This place was horrible! We brought our baby in there very sick and when we couldn't afford to pay almost $2000 to leave him for less than 48, (only to receive fluids and oxygen) and bring him back on Monday to actually do the cultures and lab work....your uncaring doctor told us to take him and put him down if we cared about him at all. Also, during our visit we were told we couldn't leave that night and bring him back on Monday to do the cultures and lab work without another referral and paying for a second assessment. Our sweet baby is still alive and MUCH better. He apparently had a bad cold and your vet not only made us feel like we didn't care about him because he didn't have $2000 to pay you but she also encouraged us to put him to sleep without a full evaluation. I wish I had her name to tell people exactly who to avoid at all cost when visiting ANY vet in the state of Georgia. I will however, encourage everyone I know to avoid your hospital. So far I know two families who have made the choice to go somewhere else further from their home to avoid having the same experience we had. Hopefully, you will take care of the matter, she is the after hours female doctor with absolutely no bedside manner.

I just refereed someone here because I have huge compassion for animals. However, when I brought my dog here it was a horrible experience. My Boston Terrier was a puppy at the time (about 4 years ago) and my brother whom lived in the basement at the time had her down there with him. Long story short, I came home from work and my dog was acting very strange, so we rushed her to the ER here. Apparently, she had got into something or ingested something and was in critical condition. They kept attacking my husband and I about what she ate assuming we knew and where lying. I We where completely distraught that we where going to loose our baby girl not even knowing what the cause was. They never gave me a clear answer on what happened or show me a tox screen... I'm thankful that my girl made it and is happy and healthy today, but they people that worked there(maybe still do) are horrible people. I should have contacted BBB or management at the time, but all I could think about was my dog.

Extremely friendly, trustworthy and professional.

My experience with this hospital was absolutely amazing. The amount of love the doctors have for the animals is genuine. I brought my kitten here and although she did not make it , the doctors called me everyday throughout the day with updates (her case was complicated). The receptionists all knew what was going on. The outpouring love and concern was very helpful, especially, since losing a fur baby is always difficult. I recommend everyone to come here! Very professional and quick. They explain everything throughly as soon as you arrive.

My sister found an abandoned baby kitten (few days old) last week and we had been trying to take care of it, however over the past few days he was not eating enough or going to the bathroom very much. My vet said that he was most likely just stressed out but this morning he seemed like he was in a lot of pain so I brought him here. I was told he was very dehydrated and his stomach was very swollen, I was told b/c he would not eat enough food there was most likely something bigger wrong with him, and that even with treatment he would most likely not make it. I didn't want to prolong his pain so we ended up putting him to sleep. B/c he was so small they only charged me for the exam. The staff especially the receptionist were very kind and caring, they even wrapped him in a little towel when they gave him back to me. Thank you all so much for all of your help!

Amanda Moscoso

The staff is VERY unprofessional, argumentative and demeaning to pet owners. My 20 year old daughter took her dog there tonight with a leg injury and went to the car crying from the way she was treated by the nurse and the vet. I will NEVER take another animal to them.

Tony Perry

I can't say enough about how caring and helpful NGVS was when our dear Nikita went there for emergency surgery. In the end she didn't make it, but the entire staff showed her love and affection for her entire week's stay there, and afterward Dr. James called to offer his condolences and seemed genuinely moved. They did their best for our family, and we really appreciated it.

Vianka Yoo

A pitbull terrier mix bit my Maltese. Multiple puncture wounds. Treatment wise, I'm satisfied so far. He still has surgery and I hope it goes well and he makes a full recovery. They let me see him before I left but they explained I wouldn't be able to see him if they were busy. One issue. I wish their phone line immediately asked if it was an emergency. I was calling them to make sure they were ready for us when we got there and the automated message was a little stressful to listen too. Edit: surgery went well. Everyone has been very helpful. they kept in contact with me and explained everything to me multiple times. They were patient and let me occupy a room for 2 hours so I could hold my dog. Thank you for everything you've done to help Sky. Other vets in the area recommended you and our own vet said we made the right choice leaving Sky in your care.

You don't deserve even one star. My boyfriend just called and came to your location because our cat fell off the bed, stopped breathing and was bleeding out of his mouth but you couldn't even take a second to look at him because we were lacking funds. I get it, that's the last thing you'd want to do is have a payment plan, but for God's sake have sympathy. He's only 8 months old and you couldn't take a second to see if he can make it or not. I will never be using your services and I will most definitely never suggest your services to a friend.

Kate Thatcher

My dog was terribly ill and they diagnosed her with pancreatitis. She didn't improve after treatment and ended up dying. She was misdiagnosed and didn't have any problems with her pancreas. They charged me $1000.00 and the delay in proper care cost her her life.

Regina Wigfall

Dog had middle of the night, emergency c-section and all the staff was excellent. The doctors are amazing. All 6 puppies and the mother did extremely well. Thank you!

Brian Robinson

Highly recommend! I’m so thankful for the people at this hospital for their quick reaction and compassion. They saved my dogs life.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE. BEWARE. We brought our Presa Canario here on Sunday for an Emergency Visit. She was having difficulty breathing and she was coughing up blood. We were told a week prior that her condition was called "kennel cough" and we would have to wait for a Tech to come out to our car. We waited and waited, and finally I went inside to tell them my dog couldn't wait any longer. They finally took her inside, we then waited for 4 hours in the lobby (they wouldn’t let us see her) to FINALLY met with the Vet... Dr. Ossin said our dog had developed "lung cancer" even though her blood work tests were PERFECT. NOTHING showed up in her blood work (She had no health issues prior to this) THEN he said it could be an "infectious disease" ?? Which one is it?? He didn’t even know! We were told we had to leave her there overnight. They charged us $2,500... We came back the very next day to pick her up, that's when we received the call on the drive over... THEY TOLD US OVER THE PHONE THAT OUR DOG HAD DIED!!! THEY DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO CALL US TO LET US KNOW OUR DOG WAS HAVING COMPLICATIONS. That is the part that hurt me the most. If they knew she wasn't doing well, why wouldn't they call and tell us to come in and have a final moment with our girl before she passed?? THEY ARE HEARTLESS AND WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY!! The vet shrugged everything off and was not apologetic. He couldn't even tell me her cause of death, because quite frankly, he doesn't even know! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. UNLESS YOU WANT TO PICK THEM UP DEAD :'( The blondes at front desk are awful!! Such awful attitudes and very unsympathetic.

Toni Eaton

Absolutely top notch vet and physical therapy services. They worked with our dog and he is so much better in walking and getting around. You can tell they love their jobs and my dog loves going to see them!

This place is great. I have seen a review on here that i don't agree with, although i understand the way this person feels. What needs to be taken into consideration is that this is not just your everyday vet. This in an emergency vet hospital. They already have a delicate job to do, with some seriously injured and some very sick animals. They can't afford to let pet owners to be in the back where they operate on and try to keep calm some already stressed out animals that belong to multiple persons. Your being in the back would only complicate matters in several ways. No, these people are very compassionate, very passionate about the animals they work with. There are several reasons why a doctor. may seem distant. You don't know what they have going on in the operating rooms. I just got my little girl COTTON back tonight after several hours of surgery and procedures, and I count myself and my family very lucky that they are so caring and good at what they do. It's because of these amazing people that me and mine did not lose a beloved family member. I cannot thank you guys enough.

Lynn Pogue

The staff is amazing! Justine was fabulous with our 2 senior labs. Our labs were at ease with the staff and that set the tone for the visit. Incredibly friendly and professional.

Shelli Hanserd

My dog was seen and diagnosed in less than 1 hour. The vet explained the possible treatment plans and the cost and helped us choose the best for us and in the best interest of my dog. The receptionist and the vet tech were very nice and helpful. I felt like my dog was in good hands and was confident the care my dog received was the best. I would go there again in a heartbeat! Hopefully I won't have to

My dog, Lucy, ended up being diagnosed with HGE after bringing her here. Lucy is a very anxious dog, and it is not easy taking her to the vet. Dr. James was excellent with her. He walked me through every option I had and discussed the possible costs of each option. He was very patient. I'm so glad I chose to go to this vet over other emergency vets. Hopefully, I never have to be in a situation where I need to take Lucy to an emergency vet again, but if I did need to, I would definitely go to this one.

I took my old girl to NGVS with my husband on our way to North Georgia since she got sick during the car ride from Texas. The guy that took my dog in was kind and he asked us very smart questions regarding my dog's disease, and I could tell that he was examining my dog and making sure she was OK, as I was answering (I do not remember his name but he had an accent). Dr Oshin was extremely kind and seemed very knowledgeable. He helped us in a sad moment so I would like to thank him for that. My baby was put to sleep due to a chronic disease but everyone at NGS took great care of my old girl in her last moments. I surely miss my baby. I recommend this place to anyone that has a pet in need, they are great. Thank you technicians, doctors and all of you. Jamie

Best care for our furry baby. 4 yrs ago he almost died and had multiple issues after that. Dr Austell is an allergist miracle worker and Brittney is our favorite tech!

We cannot say enough great things about NEGA Veterinary Specialists!! They ALL are wonderful, caring people and we could not have been at a better place. If your pet is having health issues, we would highly recommend them. Our Sadie had 2 surgeries and they treated her with such care - and us too! Definite 5 star!!

AMAZING!! We arrived at 3am and the staff was incredible, from the intake nurse to the doctor herself. They put our doggie's name on the little patient board... it was adorable. The ER fee was super cheap... under $100. Complimentary snacks and water in the waiting room. A client's dog passed away while we were at the hospital and the intake nurse sat with the client for a long while comforting her and literally let the client cry on her shoulder. The hospital sent our dog's health report/documents over to our regular vet while we were still there in the hospital and out vet (Heart of Suwanee) followed up 7days later per the ER vet's directions. All in all- Fantastic experience.

I brought my beloved dog here in a rainy Friday night, around 11pm. She did not survive her medical emergency. The staff was so caring and sympathetic. I was a blubbering mess. They allowed me time with my Shelby before she was euthanized and after. I never left her side and I never felt rushed. I got the time I needed to say goodbye to my baby. Thank you.

Very professional, compassionate, reasonably priced. Loved the place, very nice staff. Highly recommend.

Can't say enough nice things about having to go here. My 14 year old cat had fallen and was having problems with her back legs. Robin was really nice and made sure my cat was seen to quickly. The vet was super nice. All around was a good experience.

Kimberly Brunet

Every single person I interacted with was extremely nice and very helpful. The doctor was compassionate and knowledgeable. I though the fee I was charged was very reasonable. I've spent over 10k over the last 10 -12 years with my last 3 ( very expensive) dogs so I know a lot about veterinary fees, trust me on this. Now let's hope my dog continues to improve; we've only been home a few hours. A speedy recovery all I need to make this 4 star review a five star review!

Tanicia Woodman

Affordable. Friendly staff. highly recommend.

This place is terrible and these people are hustlers, and they know it. Anything to make a buck. Dr Vet, don't know her name, begged me to get x-rays taken of my dog. I asked her how much they were and she said $200. She would not even tell me if my dogs leg was broken, sprained, etc. I Said I did not want to spend the money to have x-rays taken on my dog. 10 minutes later my dog was jumping up and down ready to run a race! Still disappointed that I wasted $160 bucks on nothing. It could have been worse if I trusted her word!

Our regular vet referred us to a specialty vet to get a cystoscopy of our Ridgeback mix Peggy Sue's bladder. After doing some research we decided to go to North Georgia Veterinary Specialists, based on their outstanding facility and the fact that the doctors and surgeons are all extremely well qualified. Everyone, from the ladies at the front desk to Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Katie Surdyk (who examined Peggy Sue and performed the cystoscopy), was extremely professional while also being extremely kind and helpful. Dr Surdyk called me at home after the pathologist's report came in. Unfortunately the diagnosis was bladder cancer, but Dr Surdyk discussed the findings and explained all our options. Hopefully with treatment Peggy Sue will be around for a while yet, and we will love her until it is time for her to cross the rainbow bridge. I highly recommend North Georgia Veterinary Specialists for any emergency care or advanced care you need for your animals.

We just had to make the decision we all hate to face. We had to have our furbaby Layla put to sleep. I called NGVS and they ask me to bring her in right away. She couldn't breath, she was crying and we chose to take her. We were very impressed with the staff and how compassionate and caring they were. They were right on top of things and they took her back quickly and took care of her for us. We would like to thank you for everything you did and we truly appreciate the kindness and support given to our family. We will definitely recommend this animal hospital to friends and family and we thank you for allowing our Layla to go in peace and comfort with no more suffering. God Bless you all!
