From the initial phone call to make our first appointment to the process of our dog's surgical spay and follow up, we knew we were in good hands. We received follow up phone calls and assistance with unloading our large dog for follow up. We were offered drinks and kept comfortable while our dog having procedures done. The office is huge and very clean, absolutely no animal smells at all. Going there feels like going home. Tomorrow we take our cat for his first visit there and will be taking our dog back for her final recheck from her surgery! I'm excited to see how our cat will behave in the car with the dog? Whatever happens, I know our animals are in great hands with Mars Hill Animal Hospital!

I have taken my Giant Schnauzer there twice. Before I took her the first time I called to get the price which they said about $85. When I picked her up they charged me $100. Since she was matted and they just shaved her all over, I didn't think that was too bad. I took her back to be clipped again today and they charged me another $100 which I proceeded to question. The girl went to the back to discuss with groomer and came back and said "no matter what she has to do, it will be $100". This cut was terrible and since she was already short with no matts it couldn't have taken them more than 45 minutes to do. I could barely tell she was even clipped. I will NEVER go back there. I normally pay $70 for a MUCH BETTER JOB!!

We love Mars Hill Animal Hospital and all the doctors and staff! We've been using them to care for our cats since 2002. They are always very caring and attentive. We recently started boarding our current indoor cat with them when we go on vacation, and they take good care of her. They are also very convenient for us (1/2 mile away) which is a plus.

My Shih Tzu (21/2 years old) had an eye problem and after doing all that they could do to treat it referred me to UGA Vet Hospital. UGA did a procedure which only they could do and it seemed to have solved the problem. Also when on a trip, my dog got his first ever ear infection which required me to see a vet in another state to get treatment. It did not clear up and I had to take him to Mars Hill when we got back home and again the problem got solved after finding out that my dog was allergic to the first antibiotic prescribed. Everyone at Mars Hill are like family and are so welcoming. Dr. Gross is such a caring vet and he takes time with you and explains things so you can understand. You can talk to them and you never feel uncomfortable. They have a wonderful groomer and my dogs love her as well. They get so excited when we get to the vet's office, they pull me through the door. I highly recommend them!

I love the staff at MHAH. When I rescued two kittens they gave tons of tips. I have 7 pets so I stop regularly and they remember all of my animal's names.

This place is a joke they bullcrapped through my cats health check up. Many things on the report paper they gave back to me were wrong and didn’t even bother to spell my name right. Worst vet I’ve ever been to and I’m never going back again. Also the lady at the front desk is very impatient and rude it wasn’t even busy that day I went.

The folks are all giving. When you walk in the door they immediately take care of your little girl or boy by name. We have history with Mars Hill, had to let one go and months later a new girl adopted. If you mention the Vet, Maggie May knows she is going, she wants to drive the car, so excited.

I can’t get enough of this place. It is extremely professional, clean, friendly, and caring to you and your pets. Other veterinary clinics are dirty and smell like animals. Mars Hill is squeaky clean and has a lovely scent to it. The receptionists are friendly and desire to help you with easy to understand instructions and a warm smile that makes you feel like your pets are in good hands. The doctors are kind and gentle with the animals. They do their treatments in a private room where you are able to watch and ask as many questions as you like. They make information easy to understand. I have seen the entire hospital by taking a tour of the facility. They have one of the best groomers in the state of Georgia. And their facility has been Designed and decorated by a local artist. I have gone here for 20 years now and can’t imagine going anywhere else.

I cannot say enough good words about MHAH. If I could rate them 10 stars I would! Dr Gross & his staff have helped my kitty, Rockstar, through a really hard time. Rockstar is still with us after a terrible accident due to their knowledge, expertise and love for animals. The care & kindness that they gave him while he was hospitalized was amazing. The entire staff is top notch. The facility is clean, bright and cheery. We won't take Rockstar anywhere else for medical care in the future!

Caring doctors usually offer more than one option when dealing with health issues so you don't feel roped in to one treatment if others are available. There are several longtime staff members who create a welcoming and familiar atmosphere in the office. The waiting room is usually uncrowded which is a good environment for my anxious dog. They have also been flexible with handling both last-minute appointments and cancellations.

We Just moved to Athens from Jefferson. We received a letter in the mail from Mars Hill Animal Hospital, welcoming us to Athens, and letting us know they were just around the corner.... thank goodness for this mailer! Two days after putting the magnet they included on our fridge, I had to call because my pup wasn’t feeling too well. I was blow away by the staff. My pup is high strung and wild, and I have an 8 month old baby. So trying to wrangle a hyper dog and baby is not going to happen. Rosa was my first impression over the phone, and it couldn’t have gone better. She helped me with my dog upon arrival as she stayed over the phone, and they helped me put him back in the car upon departure. Dr. Gross was the Vet we saw and he has the BEST personality, he made me feel like I had been coming to the practice for years. He was very knowledgeable, and made the experience very comforting. I highly recommend this vet office. They are definitely the type of place you would drive MILES to get to if you ever moved away.

The constant professionals. The staff (Dr Gross and Dr Wellman) at Mars Hill Animal Hospital are so caring. They always take time to answer all questions and explain things. We have had a bad experience at another Veterinarian clinic we lost 2 cats within 15 months one being a expensive Maine Coon when we took them in to be neutered. We explained things to the Vets are Mars Hill when we moved our animals to there clinic. They explained some things a Maine Coon needed to go through before being put under any kind of anesthesia because they are such a large breed cat. It was things we had never heard before. The staff wants to put us at ease because we have 1 European Maine Coon coming up that has to be neutered within the next 2 months and we also have a American Maine Coon that will be coming up for the same procedure in about 5 months. Our cats are our kids. For us it Very Important who we got to take care of our animals health needs. I feel that we made the right choice choosing MARS HILL ANIMAL HOSPITAL. I’d just like to Thank the Mars Hill staff for doing such a great job for us when we bring in our cats.

We have been very pleased with the quality of care our cat has received at MHAH. She was recently diagnosed with diabetes, so we have had to take her multiple times to get her blood/sugar level checked. Each time we have been greeted by a very friendly and helpful office staff. Dr. Leavell and her vet techs are wonderful!! I can tell that they really care for the well-being of my cat. We also recently boarded my cat while we were on vacation. The techs made sure my cat received her insulin and even let us pick her up after hours when we returned back in town. I can't say enough great things about MHAH!!

Dr. Gross has been my pets' vet ever since I moved to Athens in 1998. Not only is Dr. Gross amazing, but all of the staff and other doctors are as well. I like the fact that I see the same faces year after year. I like that they also show an interest in my personal life, always asking how my kiddos are doing and how my business is going. Dr. Gross has actually been somewhat of a mentor to me in the business field. He is honest, kind and runs a practice that reflects that.
