From the moment I called to book an appointment and speaking with Jillian, I was so impressed. She made me an appointment for the same day and was so sweet and friendly over the phone. Upon arrival, the front desk was so kind and helpful with explaining exactly what would happen next, and getting us started. The facility itself was immaculately clean and smelled great! We waited less than 2 minutes before being called back. Brittany and Dr. Falany greeted Deacon with snuggles and kisses and allowed him to get to know them before getting started with his check up. They answered so many questions for me and never lost patience in trying to help me understand the diagnoses of the puppy, as well as new puppy mom questions. The checkout process was quick, easy, and very detailed in what exactly you paid for and provided a copy of the costs. They were all so gracious and loving, and I cannot recommend this place enough! My dog received amazing treatment from Dr. Shannon. They loved him and made him feel very comfortable. The facility is beautiful and larger than most vet clinics in the area. I would highly recommend this place to anyone with a fur baby!

Always able to work my dogs in. My pups just love Dr. Falany. She takes the time to explain things to you and never makes you think your crazy for asking the same question again because you forgot the answer or didn’t understand. And when our Jack Russell passed away, not only did they mail us a card signed by every staff member, Dr. David called us to give his condolences. We have been using Good Hands since we moved to GA 12 years ago. I went from living 20 minutes away from their office to now 45 minutes away, but I won’t change. I pass at least 4 if not 5 vets to get to them, but that’s ok. I have absolutely NOTHING negative to say about them. I could go on for HOURS WITH POSITIVE comments. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!! BEST VET EVER!!

I dropped my cats off for a grooming appointment and was overcharged for $150 in services I did not ever request or approve. The vets and groomers seem good. But they refused to adjust my bill even after I talked to them about the problem. I would take my car to a mechanic who made unapproved "repairs". I won't return to this vet again ever. There are plenty of excellent vets in the Athens area who don't rip you off.

I can tell you that our dog likes this place a lot, but there have been some issues with billing in the past (a problem with record keeping and another dog with the same name) and fleas after staying in the kennel. After the second infestation we stopped boarding here but still go for checkups and such. The vets are all quite nice and seem very competent. The kennel staff was also great and it's a shame we kept having the flea issues or we'd still be taking our dog in for occasional "day care" which she loved so much.

Monica Kucher treated our very sick pup, Bailey, and helped us keep him around for a number of years. When Bailey died and a new pup, Charlie, joined the family, our first visit was to Good Hands to get him checked out. These are very special people. I trust them to take the best care possible of my little guys and they never disappoint.

We moved to the area a little over two months ago and had not decided on a new veterinarian yet. My sweet rescue, Murphy, was running around one morning and tore her dew claw. She was bleeding, limping and the the nail was ripped sideways and I had no way to cut it off. I texted my old vet and he referred me to Good Hands. I called and they were very nice and told me to come on in and they would see her. We did not have to wait and Dr. Falany came in, sat on the floor with my shaking dog, examined her, explained to me exactly what they would do. In a short time, they brought Murphy back all bandaged up and ready to go. Dr. Falany told me she was so good and what to expect and look for as far as infection or problems. The next day the office called to she how she was. They were all fabulous and treated me as if we were long time patients. We will definitely go back. Professional, caring and welcoming!

I am blown away by Good Hands Vet! I have a 13 year old tabby cat and an 11 week old kitten that we just got! The kitten was born to a feral mom, so we wanted to take him to the vet to make sure all was well for him to be mingling with my old, indoor cat. We were referred to Good Hands, so this was our first visit. I’m in awe of the amazing service they provide. The entire staff was so kind and loving towards the cats. Everyone was so knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions. Dr. David was all of that and more. He did a nose to tail exam on both cats, talked me through everything he was seeing/feeling and had humor along the way. He is surely an expert at what he does. I’ve never seen my 13 year old more calm with a vet. I am so thankful to this whole team and will continue to be a Good Hands client for as long as I can!

Most gracious staff. You literally feel like you've run into a dear friend when you enter. The doctors are very thorough . All information is put into the laptop as you speak. Follow up is great. They are patient, making sure you are equipped with everything you need to proceed with making decisions about your pet. Clean, calm and quiet facility. Peaceful environment, which is so important for you and your furry friend. We've been to quite a few clinics in our 70 years, and this one by far is the best, hands down.

It's rare where you can go somewhere and be happy to see any of the Dr.'s. The entire staff is so friendly. They always make a point to say hello, recognize you by addressing you by your name. Good Hands has taken care of our dogs for the last 10+ years. They have been there with us for the good times and the bad. When we had to euthanize our dog, they were so very compassionate in this tough situation. Our new puppy and our rescue dogs are treated as part of the family. I have always felt confident with any of the vets on duty. The staff will call with follow-ups to make sure all is well after surgery or an emergency visit. Vets will call you back if you have a question. My pets deserve nothing less.

I have a GSD who has had itchy irritated skin for about 2 years. It was so bad that she had hot spots where she had been chewing herself. I had taken her to my vet on several occasions. Nothing they did helped. Then she developed an irritation around her vulva area. Took her back to the vet and what they prescribed did not help. Months of this had gone by. They kept telling me she would need surgery to fix it. I was very irritated and frustrated and decided to try Good Hands on the recommendation of a friend. We met with Dr. Smith. She listened to what my concerns were and took a more conservative approach, instead of trying to push surgery on my dog. She even took the time to call and check on Darby's progress between visits. Darby's case was a tough one but she is no longer an itchy dog and her girl area has healed! Dr. Smith is kind and good at what she does. Darby is a happier dog and I am grateful to have found a new vet.

This past week, I went here with one of my pets who was seizing since very early in the morning. I realized that I got there before they opened that morning. I knew that I had a 20 minute wait before they opened the door. Cindy came out to my car to check and see why a customer was sitting in parking lot. I told her my pet was seizing and she brought me in and got help for my pet. She brought me coffee while I waited. The staff and Doctors are so compassionate and caring here. I highly recommend Good Hands for your veterinary services. Dr. Falany is so wonderful with my pets. She sits in the floor with my dogs. My dogs LOVE her!

Most phenomenal vet I have ever been to, should be named 'The Best Hands - Vet Hospital'. Even without an appointment they were quick to see us, spent time getting to know us, and a follow up call was done by the Doctor! She took nearly 20 minutes to make sure all our pets needs were taken care of. You could tell that each member of the staff was there because their hearts are really in it; showed empathy, genuine concern, and went above and beyond for us. Would recommend this Vet over any I've been to in 20 years of having pets.

My first experience with Good Hands was under unfortunate circumstances. During a time when I was dealing with a very serious medical emergency with my husband, my 14-year-old cat Hobbes developed an aggressive tumor in his belly. We hadn't been living in Athens long and didn't have a regular vet so my sister recommended Good Hands. Even though she'd never met me before, Dr. Falany was absolutely wonderful through the whole process. I'd had Hobbes since he was 5 weeks old and she understood how hard the decision was for me. She and her staff gave me the best possible experience in saying goodbye to my sweet old man. They gave me a plaster imprint of his paw and a heart-shaped stone that resembled his fur color as keepsakes. Now I bring the rest of our pets here and have had great experiences each time. Our animals seem to like the people here (at least, when they're not in the process of being poked or prodded!) including when we boarded our dog with them. I would recommend Good Hands to anyone with pets.

She took care of my dogs when she was at Companion Animal Hospital as a young Dr. I moved out of state for several years and when I landed back in Athens, I called the hospital and she was no longer in their employ. I called her cell and she immediately remembered me and my three dogs after years away...every detail. Her tradition continues with the awesome attention to detail and great doctors available. DVM Heather Felany is amazing, and they deserve every award they receive and then some. The entire staff is warm and welcoming. I am grateful that there is a clinic that treats you as a friend.

We love using Good Hands for our dogs (a 13 yo Westie and a 6 mo Shiba Inu)! After being extremely unsatisfied with another vet in Athens, I have loved all of our experiences at Good Hands. Every member of their staff is knowledgeable, kind, professional, and make an extra effort to address their customer's concerns. Our Westie is always a bit cranky being left with others and especially hates visits to the vet, but somehow Dr. Jones and the Good Hands staff won his heart, and he isn't as anxious about the vet anymore. We had a great experience with our Shiba puppy's spay surgery; Dr. Cox was quick, kind, and responsive. The entire staff is always so willing to answer all of my questions. While you may be able to find good deals at vet franchises, Good Hands is locally-owned and worth the price for peace of mind for the health of your animals!
