I have used the Doctor's here since the early 90's. Always wonderful care for my pets. They recently saved my dog's life with getting her a quick diagnosis and treatment for Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. Not the first time they have saved one of my pet's. Highly recommend.

I first used DAH a few years ago when my regular vet office was closing and could not see my sick Maltese. DAH stayed opened later and they worked me in. They were patient, kind, helpful gave me some meds and told me what to watch for in case he got worse over the weekend. He did not. I did not immediately change vets, but I started taking them my “new” foster dogs and eventually, due to another misunderstanding with my previous vet’s front desk, moved all of my dogs here. They are wonderful. They just finished giving our newest addition, a 10 year old blind Basset Hound, a bath. They knew I was worried about her nervousness — so they bathed her quickly and allowed me to get her much sooner than I expected. Miss Ellie walked away with them (and away from me) tail held high and wagging. She came back to me the same way and was in no hurry to leave. She trusted the staff. The medical staff is equally caring — and kind to me when I bring my senior pack in for their annuals and semi-annuals. (They don’t insist, but I love the extra well visits for older dogs where they can keep a good eye on health.) With our Foster Failure Snickers, they discovered an arthritic knee (an 11 1/2 year old Basset) and suggested a treatment that worked so well I have the peppy happy hound I didn’t realize I had even lost. (I was blaming the heat.) We ave been coming here for two years now and are here to stay.

As a vets office goes, clean- caring staff. Area to wait with a kitty away from dogs. But they went above and beyond for my kitty, and you know animals never get sick at a good time. Bones, my cat was sick and we knew he was backed up. I was given the name of this vet by someone on a message board and called them up. They were able to squeeze him in. It happened to be my first day home alone with all 4 kids, including a 2 week old. My hands were full, without a clogged kitty in the mix to say the least. The staff was so helpful as I navigated the mess with our sweet Bones and the mess of kids. Even my older kids felt comfortable leaving their precious kitty for a short sleepover. Even the bill was within my expectations and I didn't feel over charged or any bloated expenses/tests. They are now on my fridge as vet of choice for all our furry friends!

Dr. Rush and his staff are awesome, while there are many good vets in the Atlanta Area we were having issues with our English bulldog puppy's digestive issues, he is renowned online for his knowledge and passion for the breed and after two Visits we are seeing signs of improvement and are confident our puppy will be A-ok. We will be bringing our little boy here for the rest of his life.

We saw Dr. Rush two weeks ago in regards to our sick 13 year old Australian Shepherd. He was empathetic, friendly, and helpful. He came up with a treatment plan that has improved her quality of life tremendously and has got her rebounding from some serious weight loss and health issues. Whenever we've had an illness or injury, they've taken the time to explain everything...even when the options were grim. I am VERY disappointed with the service my cat DIDN’T receive from DeKalb Animal Hospital. I called the office an hour before they were scheduled to close. I explained I was less than 10 minutes away, and my cat was in distress and having trouble breathing. I was told they still had 2 more patients coming in and they couldn’t see me. I explained my cat was having trouble breathing and he needed to be seen now. They told me to take him to another facility that was open 24 hours. When I arrived at the 24 hour facility, I discovered it was not open 24 hours, and my cat had to wait 30 minutes for them to open. Sadly my cat had to be put down, and even worse those 30 minutes he spent waiting for the emergency clinic to open he was suffering having difficulty breathing.

BAD SERVICE! I was well helped in my first consultation in the Dekalb Animal Hospital. Second time, she needed a microchip, same thing. Third time a young girl helped me, took my Sheltie inside to trim her nails. She comes back saying she could not do it (only did the thumb nails), because they were short (I hadn't trim her nails in months at that point!). Day after, my dogs middle nail starts to bleed badly. I wrote them an email explaining my house was full of blood and I didn't receive any orientation of how to stop it and no notice that she was hurt there. GOT NO ANSWER BACK. This is why I don't go there anymore.

Our golden sprained her knee the weekend before our visit and they were able to schedule and see me on short notice. The veterinarian was very congenial and knowledgeable about the golden I brought in to her. Furthermore, they understood that we brought in our other dog (for moral support) and they were quite okay with the extra company. The entire office staff is very friendly.

I got a kitten and she was sick. We went to a vets office that refused to see us, but referred us to DeKalb Animal Hospital. I’m so grateful that they did. Everyone was so nice and helpful to use. The vet was really good with our kitten, she even sat on the floor with her to make her less nervous. I don’t imagine taking our kitty anywhere else. Loved the attention and patience with all of our questions.
