Terribly overpriced!! I paid $70 for each vaccine for my cat and the same vaccine is charged $40 or less in any other hospitals! That is 2 times as much!!!! We went back to talk to the staffs about the price. They absolutely DID NOT care. I do not understand why animal hospital like this still gets postie reviews.

Fifteen years ago my husband visited all the Animal Hospitals within driving distance to our home to find the best one for our new puppy. It was Emory Animal Hospital which is now Clairmont Animal Hospital. We found all the vets and staff so caring and knowledgeable. Over the years Dr. Hiro became her primary doctor and what a compassionate vet he always was, especially when it was time to say good-bye to that dog. I now have a new puppy and of course I knew where to go and Dr. Hiro was there to welcome us with open arms.

I never saw the vet Dr. Hiro in person when I took my dog in for the first time or when I came to pick him up. I only talked to him on the phone. Their pricing is too expensive compared to other vets. I was also given false info at the front desk, and they wanted to give my dog an unnecessary and expensive test. I have since found a much better vet that provides reasonable pricing and does not believe in giving unnecessary treatment.

I brought my puppy in with a suspected bowel obstruction. I was very scared. Clairmont is not my usual vet, but they treated him with excellent care. Ultimately, we had to be referred to a specialist, but the vets at Clairmont did as much as they could to defray costs and put me at ease. From My Head to Yours

I rarely review businesses but I was so floored today from the lack of customer service as well professionalism. I've been a customer to Clairmont since last year. Never had a problem until today. I have a beautiful, highly playful standard poodle puppy that loves excitement. Well today I entered to drop my baby off and had so many things in my hand that her leash slipped out of my hand and she ran inside the building. Excited to see people and wanting to make her presences known. Instead of any of the staff assisting me with getting her prepared for boarding they just looked at me with disgust as if I was a unfit mother to my dog. After a couple of mins Sara (the manager) comes around and offers me the leash that they escort the dog down to the kennel. And one of the desk reps offer to take the food out of my hands so I can get Alexandria (thats my babies name.... Very grand i know) leashed. While doing so I notice one of the reps at the desk give me a look that was completely unacceptable and hurtful. I immediately ask her if there was a problem why did she made that face towards me? She ignores me and continues her task at hand. Finally one of the other reps come out the back who knows Alexandria and leashes her and takes her to the back. But before he does I once again notice the young lady looking at me as if she wished I would just leave. At this time I just simply ask her if there is a problem and she ignores me and Sara states something to the tone of "We just want to secure the dog so she doesn't harm anyone..." Excuse me? She doesn't bite all the most she does is will lick you. Im beyond aggravated with the whole situation at this point. I check my dog in and leave. 30 mins later I call and ask to speak to Sara to address this situation because if its such a problem I'll come back and get my baby... The nerve of her to say I DISRESPECTED HER AND THE STAFF... Excuse me? Anyone who works in customer service knows you should never let a customer leave if there is an issue... Address it and move on.. What I was expecting was an apology from the rep. Not knowing this was her second day until Sara told me on the phone. That doesn't take away that professional customer service is always expected. Do you think Sara even apologized? No she basically told me it was me who was in the wrong... This will be my last time ever visiting this establishment!!!

Clairmont Animal Hospital is the only vet I'll ever go to again. Their staff is top notch and their vets are attentive and knowledgeable. I used to see Dr. Desai, who saved my pup's vision, after diagnosing her with an autoimmune disease. She left to study Opthalmology, so we now see Dr. George, who is just as awesome. My only small qualm is that getting nails trimmed there is upwards of $20, and the techs miss at least one nail every time.

My beloved cat, Sophie stopped eating. I took her immediately into Clairmont. Dr. Romano examined her and completed tests and xrays which revealed a suspicious mass in Sophie's stomach. He was very caring as he gave me the news, letting me know that she might need surgery. Dr. Romano referred us to St. Francis Veterinary Specialists for further testing, making all necessary calls and smoothing transition from one facility to the other. Thank you to Clairmont and to Dr. Romano for their kindness, treatment and great care of Sophie.

We have three cats: one senior cat (16y) and two young siblings (1y) that we recently adopted. I have seen three different doctors here: Dr. Adams, Dr. George and Dr. Hiro and I'm convinced every doctor here is a rock star. Dr. George did a dental cleaning for our senior cat Smokey and he removed two problem teeth that were causing him mouth pain. Smokey healed up like a champ and Dr. George was very caring and compassionate throughout the process. Dr. Adams saw Smokey for his tooth surgery follow up and she saw our two new kittens Orion and Calypso for their first vet visit right after we adopted them. On top of providing great care for my cats, Dr. Adams gave us great advice on how to integrate two kittens with a senior cat and recommended some awesome automatic feeders that only open for the correct cat. This is the kind of advice and care you get from a top notch vet practice. Finally, today I brought Orion in for a checkup because he wasn't eating and generally wasn't being himself. I needed the first appointment available and they got me in same-day due to someone canceling. I got to meet and work with Dr. Hiro and he was also fantastic. He explained each step of his diagnosis and helped me understand what he was doing and why along the way. He very much made me a part of the process and I appreciated that. I am convinced that no matter what doctor I get here, I will have a great experience. I find that the prices are fair and while they are not a "cheap" or low cost practice, they will work with you if cost is a concern and explain what each test or medicine is and why they are suggesting it so you are part of the decision process. I moved here to Atlanta about a year ago from the northeast and its great to have found a vet practice that I can trust.

The staff and vets here are so kind and knowledgeable. My dog gets very nervous about going to the vet, and they made every effort to keep him calm, including coming out to the parking lot with peanut butter to meet him for the first time. I was also incredibly impressed when the vet tech managed to hold my little guy still with one hand while drawing blood with the other (and on her first try!). The only drawback was how expensive the medications here are - however, when I mentioned that I usually pay less by ordering online they were nice enough to price match. I cannot recommend this place enough. Despite moving away from the area, I will be sure to make the trip back for check-ups because of how incredibly well they have treated both me and my dog.

I do not recommend this animal hospital, as their prices are far too exorbitant, and they administer exams without consent. Despite multiple requests that my cat only be given a Rabies and FVR-CP annual booster, they administered a fecal examination without my consent. Additionally, the price ($68.00) of the vaccinations was more than 3x industry standard (~20$). In fact, from 2012-2016, I have consistently paid ~$17 / vaccine at two other animal hospitals whose service was on par with or better than Clairmont Animal Hospital. It's remarkable that this place has five stars.

I cannot say enough good things about Clairmont Animal Hospital. The staff is very professional and courteous, the prices are reasonable, the facility is extremely clean, and the veterinary care is excellent. We have 2 dogs and they are always treated like special patients at Clairmont Animal Hospital; however, I have noticed that they are not the exception. All of the employees have a genuine love for animals and it shows every time we visit. One of our dogs, Floyd, recently had knee surgery. Dr. Smith was very candid about our options before the surgery. He kept in constant contact the day of the procedure and worked tirelessly afterwards to make sure Floyd had a full recovery. He treated Floyd like his own dog, including taking him home the day of the surgery to monitor him overnight. Words cannot express how thankful we are for Dr. Smith’s expertise and benevolence. If you are looking for a vet, I highly recommend Clairmont Animal Hospital.

It is sad for me to give such a low rating as when my wife and I first came to Clairmont Animal Hospital, we were absolutely floored with the level of compassion the doctors had with our pets. Their Vets are superior to most other animal clinics in the area. We have spent money with them for boarding, nail trimming, and medical services. My wife and I used to actively endorse Clairmont Animal Hospital to everyone we knew with pets. Unfortunately, the competence ends with the doctors. A couple of weeks ago, I took my puppy to get his nails trimmed. My pup came back with multiple nails bleeding and one was even cracked. I paid $23 (more expensive than competitors) for my new born to be traumatized. This is after taking my older pup to get his nails done with them multiple times before with no issues. Both of my dogs are squirmy so that is not a factor. I spoke to the manager and she told me the tech that cut my pup had a tenure of 15 years...so it’s not a question of skill, was the tech just impatient that day? Fast forward to today. Our puppy has been looking a bit underweight (ribs showing a bit) so we decided to get a fecal test done to check for worms. During the appointment, we did not have a sample to test. The Vet took a swab from his rectum. We were charged for this test... Unsatisfied with the sample size, we returned a while later with an actual fecal sample. My wife literally handed the sample to the MA. Today, she gets a call stating that they have lost the sample. All this to say that what I once thought was the upper echelon of animal clinics might no longer be true. Today, it’s a lost fecal sample, tomorrow? What if my babies actually need a life saving treatment? Can I trust them with that? Pros: The doctors are top tier. I have absolutely no complaints about them. Some of the front desk staff is helpful and pleasant to talk to. Cons: Some, not all, incompetent supporting staff. Support staff is crucial to the well being of patients. Doctors can not be there with our babies at all times. Let us see what response I get from the hospital. I will update.

They are quick to answer patient's calls, perform follow-up calls to check on the well-being of the pet, and have a genuine interest in the lives of the pets and patients. All of our family's pets go there because they go above and beyond what is expected. For example, when it came time to put some of my family's pets down they actuall performed a house call to make the pet's final moments easier and more comfortable. Ya'll I never write reviews but this is the best vet office I have ever been to. My dog, Maggie, was referred here and needed an emergency appointment. They fit her right in and asked us to come later that day. When I walked in I was so nervous because I know vet visits are so expensive in Atlanta and knew I would be paying way more than my pocket allowed. The front office staff were angels and chatted with me before we were seen and the tech loved all over my dog while waiting for the doctor. Dr. Hiro walked in and was the NICEST and most warm doctor ever! He made us feel right at home and comfortable and gave a quick but thorough exam and explained everything to me in a way I could understand. He really cared about my dog and about me feeling relaxed and knowing she was going to be okay. He was very money conscious and the visit was about $200 cheaper than what I was expecting for that type of visit. We have found our new home and are confident that they will always put you and your baby first!

They show care for you and your pet, and the veterinarians, vet techs, and front desk staff all appear competent and knowledgeable. We have been very impressed by Dr. Adams at Clairmont Animal Hospital, and trust her completely with our dog's care. We have a special needs dog because of her diabetes, and Dr. Adams monitors our dog carefully and makes adjustments to her insulin dose as needed. Thanks to her good care, our dog is happy, healthy, and active, and we expect her to lead a long and healthy life despite her condition. Dr. Adams is also a compassionate doctor and goes above and beyond for families -- she has responded to my questions via email in the evenings or on weekends when she's not in the office. Most recently, my mother-in-law in Monroe was dog-sitting while we were out of the country, and she ran out of insulin. She contacted Dr. Adams, who called around to several local pharmacies around Monroe to find insulin for her! She's an exceptional vet, and our whole family is grateful to her for her excellent care.

Clairmont Animal Hospital is the best! From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with smiling, helpful faces. It’s easy to get in and out of the parking lot, and there are extra spots in the back as well. The vets and vet techs are so helpful and will spend all the time you need listening to your concerns and answering questions. The vets are so good with the animals! For example, I took my dog in to have his anal glands depressed. The vet lubricated her gloved finger before checking the glands—no other vet has EVER done that, in my experience. My pet also had a surgery done here: A vet tech called the day before the surgery to go over pre-op instructions, the vet that performed the surgery called once the surgery was complete to update me on how the procedure went, and I received a call the day after to make sure my pet was recovering well. The surgery was affordable, the incision was clean and nicely sutured, and my pet had no complications. I’ve emailed them questions and received prompt responses and even take my dog by from time to time to visit (so he actually LIKES the vet’s office). I couldn’t recommend this team any more highly! You will not regret entrusting your furry friends to this hospital!

I recently took my 11 year old Labrador retriever to Dr Smith for surgery. Our sweet dog (who is blind now) had developed a growth on her belly that was getting larger, and we were concerned about surgery at her age. After consulting with Dr Smith, he removed the tumor, and our dog came through the procedure without any problems! She did so well, and we are all glad that we decided to proceed with the surgery. Ginger seems to feel so much better now! I have the utmost confidence in Dr Smith and the whole staff at Clairmont Animal Hospital. We've been bringing our pets there since it opened in 1990! You won't find a better animal hospital in all of Atlanta. The vets and technical staff are all highly skilled in matters of veterinary medicine and in dealing anxious and hurting pets and in dealing with pet owners and their families. The whole team there is one of the most genuinely cheerful and caring groups you will ever meet. Much of this stems from the kindness and good heart of the founding vet, Mike Smith. He is a good-hearted and compassionate man and his attitude infects his staff. We used to go to another local animal hospital which had been a family enterprise, with caring vets, father then son, at the head. But they sold it to a commercial chain and what a difference that made. Everything that we liked about it went away, and the prices went through the roof. Clairmont Animal Hospital is still a small, locally-owned business that remains true to its founder's values. On our last visit I took my grandson who is 6 and wants to be a vet. Dr. Brady could not have been kinder. She let my grandson help with some of the procedures she had to do, answered a ton of questions--seriously--and then led us on a personal tour of the whole place. It was wonderful. This is a great place.

This staff is some of the most kindest and caring people in the veterinary world. I honestly cannot put into words just how wonderful the whole staff was, but I can say that I happily drove just over an hour to visit them whenever my dog needed their care. We recently had to put our beautiful boxer to rest, but I truly felt that this clinic had our best interests in mind throughout our entire care here. Dr. Bradley was my dogs' physician and she always strove to give him the BEST care and love while in the room, administering shots, or giving him his dental. As of this writing, Clairmont Animal Hospital is the best reviewed vet in the area. Let me tell you, that is with very good reason. I've been to other vets. They did their job in general, and I always used to wince at the bill at the end. I decided to go somewhere new, and found CAH was very well reviewed. It lived up to it's reputation in every way. The staff was welcoming, quick, and very helpful. Dr. George was superlative. He had an amazing attention to detail - he gave a much more in-depth and insightful exam and diagnosis than I have been used to from other hospitals. He was also very well-read and gave me a full range of options with detailed information (from the top of his head) about all of the medications involved, while still letting me make the decision about the best course of action. I left feeling very confident about the treatment, and what the next steps are going forward. And to top it all off, the bill was less than I'm used to paying. I really couldn't have had a better experience. Thank you, Dr. George and CAH.

Wish we could rate higher than 5 stars! The vets and their entire staff are thorough, compassionate, proactive, and helpful. It's clear that pets are their clients, yet they are totally considerate about owners' needs, concerns, budgets, and schedules. Clairmont has been our vet for a few years, and we've been so happy with them, but just shots and annual treatment until now. Our dog was attacked by another dog and had a "crushing" wound (deeper/worse/harder to treat & heal vs. a puncture wound). When we transferred our dog's care from the ER facility back to Clairmont, our regular vet got the update from St. Francis, then gave a detailed update and outlined a plan of action w/the Clairmont vet who was working over the weekend, (proactive vs. us asking "what will happen over the weekend). The office mgr. called to see how our dog was doing, then had the dr. call back to answer additional questions. Daily follow-up and lots of patience in explaining the details. e.g., re: home care, they explained "think of it like a migraine, keep disruptive noise & light to a minimum." Also connected us with a great pet sitter re: after-care assistance needed. Extended hours are a huge help! Love everyone there, but big shout-outs to Dr. Adams, Dr. Bradley, Beth, Erin, & Dannie (sp?).
