Very lucky to find this 24 hour facility! After my epileptic dog had two seizures in one weekend, she needed to be seen immediately. Staff was very informative and understanding. The building is very clean and just pretty much awesome with everything they have dedicated to just dogs.(They do see other animals as well. 24 hours a day, seven days a week!) Erika loves this place and can't wait to possibly spend a few days in their boarding/doggy daycare soon. C: I highly recommend this place for anyone with a pet that might need emergency care from time to time.

I have taken my pet dog to Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie county a few times and each time was a very positive experience. The staff and Vets have been friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to my pet's needs. Even my dog likes them. Follow up calls after an appointment are always made with my pet's well being the main concern. Gizmo and I give them two thumbs up ( oh yeah, Gizmo doesn't have a thumb).

Knowledgeable staff is always willing to answer questions. It functions as an ER, so wait times may take a little longer during high traffic times, but the care is worth the wait. Never walked out feeling like they didn't properly address or treat my dogs condition.

My boxer "Speckles " had a seizure in the middle of the night 12/20/17 We had to pay up front $1,450.00. They were supposed to call us when she was awake. We called 3 times the next day to come and see her but were told she was still sedated. I also signed to have CPR immediately if necessary. Instead I received a cold call the next morning that she had passed, the vet asked if I wanted to have them do CPR ,after she had already died. That was after the fact! She promised that Speckles would have an individual cremation. The cremation wasn't done until 12/26, meaning that her body sat 5 days, probably in a heap of other pets. My beloved pet that I wanted to pass at home with family, instead died alone in a crate. this place should be closed down and their licenses revoked.

Firstly, I would like to add that i called ahead and asked a gentleman at the front desk how much for an evaluation to see whats wrong with my dog. The man indicated it is a flat rate of $89 and once they determine what is wrong and then they will advise of any additional cost. So,We took our sick dachshund pup who was experiencing heavy breathing and constipation. We filled out general paperwork, they asked preliminary questions and took him back. About 15 minutes later one of the male nurses came back to us in the waiting room and advised that my dog's heart had stopped and if i wanted to resuscitate him. So i said what any caring owner would say YES to attempt to save my beloved dog. About 15 minutes later the female Doctor came out and advised they were unable to bring him back and he has passed away. They claimed it was due to fluids in the lungs that caused respiratory failure and caused the heart stoppage. So here are my main issues with my experience The staff working here needs to be retrained on sensitivity training. They displayed absolutely no compassion for the situation, it seemed as if i was speaking to a robot with pre- programmed responses. Secondly, it would of been nice to have been notified ahead of time that the survival rate after a dogs heart has stopped is less than 6% especially since i numerously advised i was very tight on funds. But being that it is a business i understand the tactic . So i left with a bill of over $350 and the terrible memories of this place. RIP Buddy.

When my last dog was very ill, after being turned away after waiting over an hour(Prima Vista Animal Hospital) at our usual vet. Veterinary Medical center saw us right away and took careful, loving care of my baby. When I decided to get another dog, I knew Veterinary Medical Center was the best choice. They are so loving to your fur baby and incredibly helpful and informative. Not only do they offer veterinary service, they have 24-7 emergency veterinary service and boarding. We checked multiple reviews on this place and decided it was where we wanted to take our puppy. We are very happy we did so far we even used them to board him for a night which is great because it gives our dog socialization skills. Last time we went for a checkup mostly just to renew our puppies heartworm and flea medicine and they said we didn't need to see the vet and weighed our Simba and provided the medicine which saved us a bunch of money. They could have easily taken him as an appointment to take our money.

I honestly have had no need for this 24 hour Veterinary Medical Center, and I hope I don't ever need to bring my girl here but with that said I'm giving a 5 star rating because I'm so happy to see there's a big beautiful building with lots of caring Veterinarians and Vet techs just waiting to save our Furry Family members if an unexpected Emergency should arise! I never knew this was here on, US 1 (just before) the Publix at Prima Vista Crossing Plaza! We just moved only 3 minutes away and it's a great peace of mind knowing thier very close if needed!

On Friday night, our cat Vimes was hit by a car and left in the road with extensive injuries. The care and kindness shown by the staff, both to Vimes and to myself as he was put to sleep, was beyond my expectations as they were not our regular vet. They were softly spoken and honest about his prognosis, and allowed me to spend time with him after he had passed. They also took gentle care of his body afterwards as they wrapped him for me to take home and bury. I am so thankful for them, and for making an awful situation a little easier.

A very nice full service facility. To have a kind and competent staff all around is fantastic. We used the 24hr Vet and were very pleased with the front office staff, Dr and treatment. We have since brought our our pet for grooming and are looking to use them as our primary vet as well. Additionally, the cost for service is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area.

We went there for a cat we just got for a checkup our first time there. We had an appointment got there five minutes before they called us in right on time . The staff was very friendly and helpful, the doctor was very nice she told us abouts all the shots the cat needed and explained the spaying process. They were not pushy with any exams. I switched my Pug Jade to Veterinary Medical Center because she was getting up in age and I wanted a place that had 24 hours services. The staff was very friendly, the office and exam rooms are very clean and the vet was young but very knowledgeable. I was very happy we made the change but didn't expect to need emergency services so quickly. Within two months we had to make an emergency visit. Without going into detail we had to put our girl down. It was not an easy decision and the staff gave us all the time we needed. I don't know everyone's name but they were all wonderful, especially Dr. Rachel who comforted us as much as she comforted our baby! I would highly recommend this patient and caring staff to anyone I know.

I took my 14 year old Golden retriever into Veterinary Medical Center last night on an emergency visit because his back legs were giving out. Veterinary Medical Center x-rayed and diagnosed my dog with a injured back and arthritis. They recommend I walk my dog with a sling and give him pain medication for 2-3 days, if I did not see a change they recommended to go see my regular vet. I didn't wait 2-3 days, the next morning I took my dog to the vet after a sleepless and very difficult night. My regular vet x-rayed and diagnosed my dog with bone cancer that had cracked the bones in his back leg. Today I had to put my dog down... Not only did Veterinary Medical Center NOT PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL and misdiagnosed my dog, they also caused not just him to suffer more but also my family.

These guys managed to deal with all the critters from hurricane Irma, and offer me sympathy and empathy for having to say goodbye to my fuzzy friend. They are reasonably priced and very friendly. I have 5 dogs and 3 cats so my experience with veterinary care is extensive. The oldest dog is 16 and the youngest is 4 months. Two of my cats are 12 and one is 11. The front desk staff at VMC are outstanding. no matter how busy they are you can tell they care about your pets and always do everything they can to help you. Dr. Johnson is my primary veterinarian. She is friendly, understanding, professional, very knowledgeable and has never let me down 'There are several veterinarians at VMC and all are terriffic. You can trust your pets to VMC anytime, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I brought my dog in on a Saturday. Waited 2 hours to be seen. Sitting in the room the technician comes in and says oh I forgot my stethoscope be right back. She never came back. Another technician comes in 30 minutes later takes the temperature and leaves. The vet comes in finally. Does a quick exam and starts talking money. Wants to keep my girl over night for “ observation “. Do more testing. Again talking about money. $2600. To keep her over night to observe. The vet was cold and very non compassionate. I did not feel comfortable leaving my child in the care of someone like that. NEVER listen to my baby’s heart. Oh cause no one had a stethoscope. My baby passed the next day. I called the vet and she says oh I’m sorry but it seemed like she might have had a ruptured gallbladder. I couldn’t believe my ears. I asked her why why wouldn’t you tell us that Saturday? She had no response to that. If she had told us that we would have called my regular vet n what ever had to be done to save my girl we would have spent any amount of money. It’s sad that we trust doctors with our loved ones and this happens. I personally would never go back and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Btw. When I got a copy of her visit it said her temperature was different than what they told us in the room and how can you put a heart rate down if you never listened to her heart rate with a stethoscope. Mind boggling.

My daughter and I had to rush our sweet dog Max in late Tuesday evening because he was misdiagnosed by kindness animal Hospital. The Girls came outside with a stretcher to get him inside as quickly as possible so he could get hooked up to IVs and get some fluids going him. X-rays were done immediately. Unfortunately because of the misdiagnosis there was really not much we could do but make sure he wasn’t suffering anymore. The staff was extremely professional and as compassionate as we could’ve hoped for in our time of loss. I want to say thank you to everyone that was there that night for doing the very best to try to save our family member. It means the world to me and my family.

Great friendly staff. Its rare to find a place that loves your pet as much as you do. When my dog got hit by a car, my daughter found this place. When we picked up Jericho (a 65lbs pit bull) the next day, we discovered the staff was arguing over who was going to take care of him. We found a new vet! The doctors arent afraid to give it to you straight and in such a situation exactly what you need to make a decision. Jericho is doing great 2 months later. Thanks to these guys!

Called this morning at 9AM spoke to Mike, explained that I had just moved to PSL and my 16 1/2 year old dog had taken a turn for the worst and I needed to put him to sleep, told me they had no appointments available but I could come in after 6 to there after hour emergency hospital. Do you know how hard it is to make a call like that to be put off til after 6. No compassion. Would never take any of my other fur babies to this animal hospital. Shame on you.

I have been a client here for years and have spent thousands of dollars at this facility. My dog has been getting laser treatment packages here for over 2 years. He is now 14 and a half as well as blind and diabetic. The trip is taking too much out of him at this point and it takes him days to get back to normal. I had 3 more visits to go on his package and asked management to either credit my account for the unused treatments or a store credit for something else that my dog could use. The management REFUSED to do anything for us after all these years as well as having no compassion for my dog who has just gotten too old to go there anymore. In fact, they wanted to charge me back for single sessions which would have caused me to end up owing them money back!!! Really????? This clinic has steadily been going down hill in the last year. This used to be a family oriented place and now it has turned into a place where everyone is just a number. Not to mention, their prescription charges are much higher than other vets we have went too as well as the place we are now going. I cannot believe it when vets go from caring really caring about our furry kids to a place that only wants to rip you off!!! I will never be back. My pets are worth better treatment than that!!

A wonderful experience every time I visit. They are there for the everyday things, food and toys and treats as well as the end of life for my furry babies. They are all super friendly and kind, from the front desk to the technicians and especially the Vets. They offer a multi pet discount, have wonderful kenneling facilities for overnights. They offer doggie day care and training for puppies. They offer online scheduling and medication reordering, as well as 24 hr emergency care. My pets (especially Martha) love the care and because of this, so do I.

This is the most skilled and pet-friendly service I've ever used. Our Shih Tzu has liver cancer, discovered there by the staff. We just want her to be comfortable, and they help us enormously with that. In addition, we've had a difficult time finding gentle, non-abusive groomers for her. Some kept her as long as 8 hours! For a little Shih Tzu? I expressed my concern to this wonderful place only to learn that they groom dogs too! Our little one gets the best and most thorough care here she has ever had. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

ER visit was rushed - technician only took vitals, seemed uninterested in concerns. Dr Decter treated a young dog that came in with lethargy, shivering, hesitant walking / climbing stairs, rash, and not barking. Records reflect pet was advised benadryl. Very dissatisfied with most of the staff's lack of compassionate care and understanding the urgency and gravity of pet's declining condition. Upon 4th daily consecutive ER visit, pet was admitted for two day hospital stay and owner advised that they could not do anything more for him. 6 days of improper care and over $2,000 later, pet transferred to specialty hospital and condition of IMPA preliminarily diagnosed and confirmed with treatment plan within hours of initial examination. PBVS determined that the antibiotics given by VMC worsened the condition. After 3 more months of aggressive medical treatment, my dog 4 year old best friend had to be put down. The IMPA could not be controlled. And according to PBVS, it was the most difficult case they'd seen. Had the IMPA not been made worse with the antibiotics given by VMCSLC, maybe this autoimmune disease would not have gained such strength. My dog did not get proper medical care from VMCSLC and they did not take his condition seriously. In fact Dr. Decter laughed at me and brushed off my concerns regarding the gravity of his declining condition at the 3rd ER visit. Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County is a glorified clinic lacking professional and knowledgeable staff. VMCSLC is the equivalent of a fast food restaurant, with comparable staff attitude in nearly every employee. Management is clearly focused on the bottom line over providing quality care or retaining knowledgeable and professional staff. Shame on them.

My dog has been going to this vet for over two years and tonight began having problems walking and is very thirsty. I called them and they said he needs to be seen. I informed them that I wouldn’t be able to come up with the money for the visit until tomorrow. They told me they can’t see him because I can’t pay them tonight. They are all about the money and not the well being of the loving pet. I will be taking my dog and cat somewhere else from now on.

I will never take any of my pets to this place. A friend of mine took her dog to them & was told he had kidney disease. My friend believed them so she let them treat him. Her cat got sick so she brought her in. She was told the cat had diabetes. My friend & her husband had to make the heart wrenching decision to put their cat down. The cat was over 14 yrs old & they didn't feel prolonging her life was in her best interest. She told the vet their decision over the phone & asked them to wait until she arrived before they euthanized her. On her way in to the vet her phone started blowing up with calls from the vets office. When she could answer safely she was told that they had already euthanized her cat. Needless to say she was furious. Then it got worse when she arrived at the vet. They put her in one of the exam rooms & brought in her deceased cat. They apologized for the mix up & told her they would take 50% off the bill, which was close to $1500.00. She told them she didn't think she should have to pay, they said she would have to & charged her card on file! So, she wasn't about to take her dog back there for treatment. She found another vet & told him about her dogs liver disease. He examined the dog & asked her what made her think the dog had liver disease. She told him thats what the vet at VMC was treating him for. Turns out her dog doesn't have liver disease! This place isn't compassionate & they are treating things that don't exist! Just be very careful if you take your pets there & please get a second opinion before allowing them to treat anything major.

We couldn't be happier with the care and genuine concern we receive from Dr. Johnson and the techs that assist. I never feel we are rushed which is most important when dealing with our fur kid's health. Humphrey and Ren love when we tell them where we're going and when they are there, there is absolutely zero anxiety. I DO recommend you folks to all my friends which is huge, because I typically don't recommend any type of services. Please do not change a thing!!! We trust you with our kids. Oh, also, the front desk people are always very receptive, informative and extremely pleasant. So refreshing!!!

We had a dog that was very sick and they were able to identify the infection. Our primary vet recommend putting the dog to sleep. This place saved our old dog so we can enjoy her at least a little while longer. They are clean, friendly, and you can go see your dog any time.

I appreciate the extended hours of service and availability of the staff. I completely understand the increased rate for after hours service. The emergency service was extremely helpful and took care of my chocolate lab. Unfortunately, the staff performed several Unnecessary X rays and sent the billl skyrocketing. I had even overheard a nasty front desk lady named “ Maryann “ talking with my family and charging us another $600 without our consent, and also calling my mother “ stupid and indecisive “ when putting her on hold. We signed a contract on making sure they don’t go over $3000; the bill was $3500. Luckily the owner was very kind and took off 300.

Very good experience here (first time). Brought my cat in at around 11 pm because she stopped peeing, which is apparently a medical emergency. They were very thorough and the vet was very good (my cat had a UTI). They examined her, did labs and xrays and we were discharged in about an hour and a half and she’s feeling better. Definitely recommend this place.

I have no complaints about the care but the charges were outrageous. Seemed to look for anything they could charge for and put on an invoice. Tried to charge me for an additional part of an overnight stay when they told me I couldn’t pick up my animal because they were delayed in surgery. Prices for medications were off the wall. Nickel and dime charges. Very unhappy with how they are taking advantage of emergency situations.

I took my baby there last Wednesday night she was very sick. They took her off somewhere in the facility and my wife and I sat there for 1-2 hrs finally the vet came in wanting us to leave her for 3-4 days 4000 dollars or more so I made them get her and she was so very upset she was hyperventilating and I stayed up all night with her and took her to her vet the very next morning. They couldn't even hear her heart abnormal beat or anything else.
