THIS IS THE PLACE TO TAKE YOUR LOVED ANIMAL. Best technology and overall great staff. Most state of the art facility for diagnosis. Improved quality of care over a regular VET. New cures and treatment therapies. State-of-the-art technologies. Shorter length of stay for major pet illnesses. Superior outcomes and survival rates. Specialized surgeries and experimental medical procedures.

Even though Snake Eyes didn’t make it. They were truly compassionate and very thoughtful for my family and our loss. Thank you so much for your compassion. I’m truly grateful!

Horrible experience with the ER vet. Very condescending and unsympathetic to my terminally ill pet. Would only treat my pet for it’s illness if I repeated previously diagnostic tests with them. As a university vet hospital I was shocked at how little they knew of the new treatments out there for my pets condition. Don’t waste your time or money.

I like lots of things about the UF Small Animal Hospital, but I can't get an appointment quickly when my dog is sick and have to grapple with either paying the large emergency fee or waiting a week. I like our primary care vet but whenever we come here, the wait time is hours. It is just too long. We are now looking for a new (really good) vet who is less expensive and has a more reasonable wait time for appointments, and for waiting in the waiting room.

I came to UF with my Golden retriever.Vet told me my dog needed major work cost thousands of dollars.Due to his age be best to put him down.So I said Ok,I wanted to see him one more time. They brought him in he was lying their with smile on his face and wagging his tail.I thought you said he was dying?I took my dog and told them I was leaving. They said you dog probably wouldn’t make drive home.Well it’s 4 days later and he is doing just fine!Im so glad I left UF,and I will never return!

My cat was hit by a car and barely alive. When we arrived, we were told that it was unlikely our cat would survive and it would cost thousands of dollars to try. We made the tough decision to euthanize her, but the 'vets' continued to keep her alive and suffering and adding extra charges to us. Two weeks after her passing, we receive a call claiming that we were under billed and owed even more money. This is the most disgusting customer service I have ever received. We paid the amount that we had received a bill for the day we were there. Opening old wounds to scam a couple hundred dollars from struggling college kids is despicable and monstrous. Try a different pet ER in the area!!!

Very trustworthy. They saved my my best friend.

The employees were kind. I find out later through research that the vet(student most likely) lied to me about my cats condition and strong armed me into euthanizing her when I was at my weakest state. She was a cold person. They wanted to do 4k just in tests. She should not be a vet.

You can’t ever get an appointment with your primary vet. If you need a same day or next day appointment you are stuck paying an ER Vet bill. They also recommend several tests for minor things. Be prepared to never see a veterinarian but a resident and medical student for any visit.

Excellent experience. My beagle overdosed on a medication, and the staff here was super helpful and encouraging. They took great care of her, and the total cost of the treatment was less than half of the "low number" quote they have me beforehand! I was very impressed and would recommend them to anyone.

My 7 week old Siberian Husky had her "third" eye lacerated by my cat (it was a very unfortunate accident). We had planned a trip down to Ocala when this happened minutes before we are set to leave, it didn't look so bad but quickly got worse the next day. Being a late Saturday night, most vets were closed. I decided to call the UF Pet Emergency Treatment Services. I explained what happened and she informed me, to save money and time, it would be better to take her straight to the UF Small Animal Hospital to see an Ophthalmologist. Of course at this point I knew it was serious and was very worried for my new fur baby. I called the emergency line at UF Animal Hospital the next morning and they told me to come right in. She had her eye examined and figured the best course if action was surgery. I was very worried as she is only a 7 week old puppy but they made me feel comfortable and at ease about the procedure. I dropped her off Monday morning for the surgery. They called me a before and after the surgery with updates, which definitely helped with the anxiety. They definitely care a great deal about you and your animal. All in all, the surgery was a wonderful success. They were able to suture her third eye lid back together, which had to be a very delicate procedure. I can't even begin to express how impressed I am with this Animal Hospital, the friendly staff and doctors and the amazing surgeon's! They went above and beyond for our little Athena. She's is great spirits and recovering like a champ! I recommend this Veterinary Hopsital to anyone who has a animal emergency. Thank you so much for taking care of Athena!

My vet referred me to UF if our dog's condition persisted. It did and two days later I found myself going to UF Veterinary Hospital. They proceeded to repeat the X-ray that my doctor initially did. They also did blood work and tested for a disease that I did not agree with as the cause. I was told to not "be a Google dr. That pretty much frustrated me and of course the test for said disease came back negative. I spent just under $400 to Not know what is wrong with our dog. It turns out that it was indeed caused by the dog food which I had mentioned could be a possibility several times. While I found the staff quite friendly, I am not certain that I am confident in returning.

I noticed comments about the time it takes to obtain an appointment at this facility. I would like to point out that this is a hospital for seriously sick animals. Just like it is inappropriate for someone to go to the emergency room to be treated for a cold, it is inappropriate to take your dog. If you've not been to your primary vet before calling/visiting UF Small Animal Hospital then you need to. You shouldn't be talking to going to the hospital unless it's an obvious emergency. If your vet finds something worth being seen quickly over, they will see your animal quickly. To give you an example, people were making fun of my dog for being fat. We walk/run a mile daily and he eats the same amount as my other dog who is 30 lbs lighter. I was giving him a look and as I was feeling around his stomach I noticed a large mass that wasn't squishy like fat would be. I took him to my vet where they found a giant tumor. I was sent to the surgeon immediately as Brown Dog was at at risk of rupturing his tumor. The internal bleeding would have killed my dog if it burst. Due to this, I was at UF small animal hospital within 24 hours and Brown Dog was under the knife within 48 hours. Some people don't like the large team your animal gets but it really put me at ease leaving him overnight after the surgery. I knew he would likely get more attention there than he would at home and he gets plenty at home. It will be 3 years ago in April and Brown Dog turns 14 not very long after. I tell everyone who mentions needing a veterinary hospital, for surgery or cancer treatment or whatever serious ailment they're dealing with, about UF small animal hospital. That being said, see your regular vet first and go from there.

The employees are well-trained, professional, and seem to really love their furry and feathered patients.
