We love St Johns Veterinary Clinic and have trusted in their care for all 5 of our dogs throughout the years. Two English Bulldogs, German Shepard, Belgian Malinois and now a French Bulldog. They are skilled, compassionate and provide the highest quality care in St. Johns County. Being bulldog owners, that is important to us. They are a breed that requires a little extra TLC medically at times. About 5 years ago, one of our bulldogs suffered from a heat stroke while staying at a local boarding facility during our cruise. The doctors and staff at St Johns Veterinary Clinic were able to revive him fully. We couldn't have been more grateful for them that weekend. OUTSTANDING doctors and staff!

Nothing but great things to say about this clinic! My boyfriend and I just recently moved here to St. Augustine with our pups from Jacksonville and within a month we found an unfamiliar and unpleasant rash on our Bernese Mountain Dog. Obviously, extremely worried we took Murphy to this location after researching different vets in the area. We had an appointment in no time! We were readily accommodated as we first walked into the door (no wait, no heavy paperwork). The staff was very kind and friendly, not only to our pup, but to us as well. We met with Dr. Abrecht and WOW. We absolutely LOVED her. She was amazing with Murphy, she took her time and it was easy to see that truly cared about our boy. She was knowledgeable, kind, thorough, and asked as many questions as she could to get a better understanding of what was going on. Two days later the clinic called to check on Murphy! I’ve never experienced such great patient services - even with my own doctors. Now, Murph is making a speedy recovery and as happy as ever. Needless to say, you should bring your beloved fur babies here.

We went here after a HORRIBLE experience at another vet. Our cat was VERY sick and my other vet said they did not "have time" to see us. They recommended that we go to St Johns and they were GREAT! They were so nice to my kitty and they took a long time doing everything they could do to make him comfortable. The staff is SO nice and the doctors are great!!! We will forever take our pets here now and we won't go anywhere else! They take the time to give you options, they talk through things with you and they are never too busy to ask questions. We have called them a few times and they answer our questions or have someone call you back. Truly the best vet in St. Augustine!

I really felt like everyone was aware of her and her needs and treated her like a star. I rarely write reviews, but I feel St John's and Dr. Abrecht are exceptional and I want to recommend them to those looking for quality care for their older animals. I have a geriatric ginger cat with kidney issues, and coming from out of town, I wanted to ensure he had proper support. Not only did he get excellent treatment, but we have stepped up his plan to a whole new level. He is still a playful cat and I believe his quality of life will be improved even further under Dr. Abrecht's care. Thank you!

We are new to the area and this vet was recommended by a couple of neighbors. We had lots of questions for the vet tech, Monique, who was helpful. Dr. Sider was patient as we continued our questions, from what to do about ticks & fleas, to suggesting a rattlesnake avoidance training. Coming from a completely different climate, we were a bit overwhelmed & both Monique & Dr. Sider were warm & informative. We left feeling less overwhelmed.

My pomeranian has a lot of health issues and has been treated by numerous specialists in various parts of the country. Dr. Jennifer Vencil has helped Roscoe more in the past 3 months than all the specialists in the last 3 years. UPDATE! (January 31, 2019) I reviewed St. Johns Vet Hospital a year ago and have just had several more visits with them recently to fill out International Health Forms for my 3 pets so we can travel abroad on our boat. First of all, I have now met all but one of the staff doctors as well as most of the vet techs and I just cannot say enough great things about them all! Dr. Young is the USDA Vet at the clinic and is the one who has to sign the Health Certs. He is absolutely wonderful to work with. He went out of his way to accommodate me and my huge list of questions. When I made the appointment, they asked me what countries I was going to visit, and when I got there, they had prepared an electronic file with all the requirements for each country and emailed it to me. Rhonda at the front dest was especially helpful in that regard. Some of the countries we are visiting required me to have a rabies titer test done on all of my pets.. One of my pet's test was submitted with an error on it, (which was my fault). The titer test Lab it was sent to was adamant that the information could not be changed on the official test document. I was resolved that I'd have to deal with it abroad, but Kimberly, the amazing office manager at St. Johns, went to battle for me to get it changed. She was tenacious with her communication and followup with the lab, finally convincing them to make the change on the form and reissue it so that I wouldn't have any stress about it. The lab charged a "change fee", but that was a small price to pay in the long run. I hadn't been to the clinic for about 5 months, but when Dr. Sider and Dr. Franz heard we were in one of the rooms for an appointment, they both came in to say hello to my pets. I couldn't believe they even remembered me, let alone make special effort to come in and visit the fur kids. (I do have 2 awesome dogs and a cat who love going to the vet, so maybe that's why). Anyway, weather you're a transient resident like I am, or a long time St. Augustine resident, you really owe it to yourself and your pets to choose St. Johns Veterinary Hospital for your animal care needs. Written a year ago: (Jan 2018) Absolutely one of the best vet clinics I have ever been to. Dr Sider and Dr Franz are amazing! The Vet techs are too. Everyone that I have met here are kind, thorough and take their time with the animals and owners questions. I just moved here and left a great Vet Clinic back home and thought I’d never find anyone like them. I was wrong. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

I won't Ever go back to this veterinary office. I came in really concerned about my dog. Throwing up. They did xrays and tells me she has a foreign object in her stomach. She suggested emergency surgery or endoscope. But the endoscopic may not work. So we choose the surgery. They sent us to there partner vet office. Had surgery they found nothing. My dog was missed diagnosed. My dog had surgery for no reason. We are out the vet fee that they charged us and the other for a surgery that wasnt needed. Word of mouth goes a long way. I have four animals this place lost my business. Just because they only want money they don't care about their patients.

The staff were friendly and professional. I was given an appointment quickly, even though we are just visiting the area, and they had not seen my dog before. He needed a growth removed. That was again scheduled quickly. The cost was exactly as estimated by the clinic. All went well. Could not ask for a better experience. Received veterinary services again in Nov 2016. Very pleased with the care my pet received. Just picked my dog up from his grooming 12/16. Hope did a wonderful job! I will ask for her any time we are in the area. I am going to take a picture of him to use as an example for future groomers as we travel!

I honestly cannot say enough great things about St. John's Vet Clinic. We have been taking our babies there for a few years and I have always, always been highly impressed with them; however, a more recent loss for our family proved to me just how much they care. Our Marlow, an 8-year-old Golden Retriever was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. We opted out of aggressive therapy, as we did not want to have him undergo any invasive procedures...and instead...we chose to allow him to live his life to the fullest. Given this we decided to start him on acupuncture with Dr. Wihbey. The acupuncture really helped him with his pain and improved his mobility. Unfortunately we woke up one morning and Marlow was unable to walk. We called the clinic as soon as they opened and they told us to rush him in. Long story short, our boy had to be put to sleep, which was devastating for us. Thankfully our absolute favorite vet, Dr. Wihbey, was there with us. She cried with us, hugged us, and really took extra steps to help make the process a little more bearable. I can say honestly that without Dr. Wihbey, we would never have been able to get through it, as her support didn't stop there. She sent us a lovely card with a note telling us how much Marlow meant to her. Additionally, the clinic made a donation to the University of Florida Veterinary School in Marlow's name, which touched us beyond words. Sometimes we forget that our babies can impact not only our lives, but the lives of others and it is evident that Marlow did just that to Dr. Wihbey. So if you are looking for a wonderful veterinarian for your babies, I truly cannot say enough about this group. All our interactions with the doctors were wonderful...but of course we have a special place in our hearts for Dr. Wihbey, as she is someone we will never forget. We also feel that the support staff at the clinic are great. In particular, Bryce was a fantastic and caring tech that immediately fell in love with our new Ragdoll kitten, Angus, that we got right before our beloved Marlow left us. And I am not easy to please- I have had a lot of "needy" animals and I always ask a LOT of questions and they always take their time with me until I am comfortable with the situation. The veterinarians, technicians and front-office staff were everything you would expect from an animal medical service. However, the business model caters more to their bottom line than the animals' welfare. . .it is very expensive. So, if you want good service and are willing to pay more for it, this is the place.

We selected St. Johns very carefully for our elderly poodle mix, after we arrived in St. Augustine four years ago. The doctors have proven to be excellent, taking very good care of her in spite of her challenging health issues. We now have a second rescue for whom they care. Among the special services they provide is checking up on the health of both dogs after appointments and, perhaps best of all, the immediate, very efficient and cheerful way in which Kimberly files of our insurance claims. Since we are allergic to cats, Carol even insures that the examination room we visit is free of cat dander when we come in. The front desk staff is welcoming and very helpful, no matter what the concern. Special service is everyday service at St. Johns.

My first experience with St. John's was after my dog was bitten by a Moccasin.They were ready and waiting for me and literally holding the door open. The care was so efficient my dog was released the next am. While I was in the back I noticed lots of small furry creatures so this week I went by with an infant squirrel that had fallen from the nest and had injuries. They took it in. No concern what so ever for money and offered to treat him until he was ready to go to the ARC a rehabilitation facility here. I was blown away by this. They take in any wounded or stray critters that need attention just out of their kindness and philosophy .They aren't funded to do this, they just do. If I ever win the lottery , they're getting a big chunk! Thank you St. Johns!

On Saturday I had to make the difficult decision to end my eleven year old cats life. All of the staff was caring, thoughtful, and not once did I feel "rushed" and was able to take the time to give her a proper goodbye with supportive people who understood how hard it is to let them go even when it is what is best for them. Our dogs have been going there for a little over a year. We have 3 dogs that really like all the Dr.'s. They did surgery to fix a hernia on our youngest dog. The staff really seems to know alot and they are really nice. We had to put our cat down and they showed alot of compassion and helped us make the hard decision by just being there. Our dog Cooper goes there for their doggie daycare and he loves it. They have wonderful customer service and although they may not be the cheapest in town, the services they offer and the personal care and attention MORE than make up for it. We recommend them to ALL of our friends.

Typically I would not have done this type of medicine/therapy, but so many friends told me about Dr. Wihby in my neighborhood - and they were right. She is amazing - and the office is so warm and friendly. Initially when I first moved to St. Johns County - we tried another vet, by comparison - St. Johns Veterinary Clinic is far superior - not only with their kindness and compassion - but overall fees. When the day came that it was time for our best friend to cross over, they cried with us, for us and it was like we were all family. Our pets are our family members. Mollie always received the best care here. Unfortunately she passed away while in NY, just 8 days shy of her 16th birthday. We received a heartfelt sympathy card from them. Later we also received a card from the University of St John's College of Veterinary Medicine indicating that a donation had been made to them in Mollie's name. Such a sweet thing for them to do.

This office is our guardian angel for our 8 year old fur baby Rosebud. We came to them all the way from Jacksonville for a second opnion after our vet could not figure out what was wrong. It started with everyone at the front desk greeting us with a smile and kindness in their eyes (I know Kim was there and I apologize for not getting other names of the front office ladies) Dr. Siders got on the floor with our golden retriever and gave her a complete check up. This office had the technology to diagnose in less than 15 minutes what our previous vet had missed for a week. The diagnosis was that she needed emergency surgery for an infected organ. Dr Franz (surgeon) was so kind and reassuring going over all of the details. After the surgery I received a call from the surgeon personally reassuring me was well with my sweet girl. I am grateful for their amazing care!! My Rosebud is at home recoperating now and they continue care by calling to check up on her. I am forever in their debt for and blessed to have a healthy happy fur baby back at home. (I forgot to add that it was also my child’s 8th birthday that day and I was a wreck thinking something could happen to our beloved pet on her birthday- and because of Dr Siders and Dr Franz, my daughter got the best present ever- her snuggle bug rosebud back home ❤️❤️). We will be making the trek from Jacksonville to St Augustine from now on so that our golden retriever gets the best care possible!!

Misdiagnosed my golden retriever (after they soaked me for hundreds of dollars) I took my female to a vet within fifteen minutes of leaving st johns and THAT doctor had her fixed for $ a ton less then St johns vet charged me for their "so called diagnoses and FOLLOW UP", Ive filed a complaint with the state and intend on not stopping until either the doctors license they are licensed under calls me or I put them out of business!

Bebe has been a patient here for 4 years. We came because of a sad situation when we lost her brother. They were kind, understanding, and very helpful on our visit - so we decided they would be our choice for caring for her. It's with much sadness we have to leave. We moved to Jacksonville and the trip back to St. Augustine proved to be much to difficult for her (she is 14 years old). They are awesome people who love our pets and are willing to help any time you need it.
