They saved my dogs life. The vet went above and beyond she even helped me transport my dog to his normal vet in the morning, she rode with me to make sure he made it there okay! A+ service great staff everyone was so friendly and helpful. Thank you all so much

My poor kitty was attacked by the neighbors dog and had a good size laceration on her side. We took her in after calling and they were wonderful! They made sure we understood the paperwork, what we were agreeing to and gave us the estimates before having us sign anything or pay. They made sure to tell us our options and see what we were comfortable with. They kept us updated when we were away from the office during the treatment and cared for my little kitty with the upmost love and attention. Edit: still a good place but after taking my cat to her normal vet as suggested they did an xray and noticed her sternum was broken in 3 places not dislocated, not sure how they did not see that in their x-ray. So needless to say I'm even more upset than before.

From the lady who answered the phone to the Doctor herself, I felt so much compassion, genuine caring about my little man, and sincere sympathy for our loss and hugs all around. Thank you for everything you did for all of us. I will never forget your kindness. Janet Pollock

Yesterday our 2 year old dog was in serious pain and we weren't sure if we could wait until our regular vet office would open up. We have never had to take our pets to the emergency vet and asked what we needed to do before we got there, which was met with nonchalant answers that were borderline rude. We gave all of the information that we could think of as to the cause of our dog's problem, to which the doctor made a sarcastic comment that the information we gave him didn't help his diagnosis. He immediately told us that our dog had nerve damage and that we would need to take him to a specialist to get an MRI. I gave them 2 stars instead of one because we did have them administer a pain killer which helped our dog relax a bit. We took him to Banfield and they told us he twinged his back and just needed to rest with medication. He is almost back to his normal self today. We will not be taking our pets here again.

As a frantic fur mom Ashley helped me stay calm. She was so loving towards my baby. The doctor was fantastic and so nice. Price wise very reasonable nothing crazy. If any emergencies happen we will definitely come to this hospital. Thank you so much for your care and compassion.

I’m the co-founder and President of Swamp Haven here in St. Augustine and due to the nature of working with sick shelter pets we've spent thousands of dollars at this clinic over the last four years. When you're to the point where you feel you need to take a pet to the ER your hope is to work with a knowledgeable, trustworthy, supportive staff. Not once have we experienced that at SARVEC. We've only known a combative, unorganized, clueless staff. As we've waited for our dogs to be seen we've watched community members walk helplessly through the door with dogs dying in their arms be received by a stone-faced receptionist who told them, "It's been a busy night, get in line". We’ve watched a tech, terrified of our dog, frantically shove a muzzle on her face without giving us a chance to coax her into it. After having to euthanize, we had to remind the vet -- the professional you want full, unconditional trust in -- to come back to the room with her stethoscope to make sure our dog’s heart actually stopped beating (normal practice at any vet). The service has been so consistently awful that we've had to resort to drive dogs to the ER in Orange Park. As the only ER in St. Augustine unfortunately our community is forced to continue to support techs and doctors who lack compassion, animal behavior knowledge, customer service and empathy. I’ve held back writing such a public review, but at this point I can’t in good conscience stay quiet. To the board members of SARVEC - apart from one young gentleman, that clinic needs an overhaul. It’s a disservice to our community and I’ll never recommend it to the hundreds of families who’ve adopted from us in the past or the hundreds of families who will adopt from us, foster for us and volunteer for us in the future.

Friendly, sensitive and knowledgeable! This was our first visit and we were very impressed with the staff, facility and quality of care.

My cat had an emergency and they took him back immediately and started working to save his life. Unfortunately his condition was fatal, but the staff was so kind with me, allowing me as much time as I needed with his body. I am thankful for the team here that took care of my cat, they are truly special.

geri lyn Cross

Despite the fact our puppy couldn't be saved, everyone was so helpful and concerned for his well-being...and ours!

Cindy Teijido

My cat developed a big abscess. Because it was a Saturday I brought him here to Veterinary Emergency Clinic. We saw Dr. McClelland, he was great and the staff treated us very well. Before treatment they gave me the cost, much less than what I expected for emergency service. Sunday the lump came back, it was a nasty infection, so we came back and were not charged to have it drained a second time. I would recommend Dr. McClelland to any animal lover.

Wonderful each time we have had a vet emergency. They are caring and efficient. They truly care about the animals.

This place is amazing. When I had to unexpectedly put my dog down they were so supportive. They even followed up with a condolence card with my boys paw prints. I wish all Vetinary offices were as kind and caring as this one. They actually care about the animals and the families.

EXCELLENT VET HOSPITAL!! Treated my pets condition as immediate and serious as an emergency room is expected. Hopefully we won't need to be back, but if we do, this is our #1 choice.

Two experiences with this Emergency Center. Both excellent with one very minor exception.

I am giving this four stars because I had a great experience with the general staff at this ER Vet and also very thankful that they are available and I don't think the facility is a bad facility. My complaint is with the vet I saw, Kristen O'Connell, the vet on staff that day. I have since found out she was a relief vet and not part of the regular staff which is the reason for the four stars. The vet is Kristen O'Connell and I came in on Memorial Day weekend (Sunday) with a 5-week-old kitten who was having seizures. The vet told me to euthanize her. We had an appointment with our regular vet on Tuesday and I asked for medication to keep her comfortable until then and she refused and told me the only option was hospitalization and IV meds or euthanization. She did give me ONE vial of valium to be administered in the case of a prolonged seizure (only after I asked for it) and she specified she would only give me one vial. She immediately got an attitude when I told her I would not be euthanizing the kitten and we wanted our own vet's opinion. Subsequently, the kitten suffered for 48 hours with seizures every 2 to 3 hours until we took her to our vet. The diagnosis the ER vet made is correct but her treatment plan differed from our vet. He prescribed small doses of valium and phenobarbital to hopefully control the seizures. I also found out that everything Kristen O'Connell told me about the treatment for my kitten was not true. She can be given oral medications to control her seizures and she told me that oral antibiotics (which i had to ask her for) would not effectively work on an infection that had crossed to the brain. I have since had two vets tell me that is not true. Since the visit with our vet, the kitten has only had one seizure and is resting peacefully. Her prognosis is guarded but she is at least at peace now with the medications given and has a chance of recovery. At the end of the visit at the ER vet with Kristen O'Connell, I mentioned that my husband wanted to go to the Sugar Mill in Deleon Springs for pancakes in the morning but that we wouldn't be going now with the kitten and her seizures. O'Connell replied to me, and this is verbatim, "I would rather eat pancakes than watch a sick and dying cat." It was at that moment that I knew I couldn't let this go without a complaint. I called the ER Vet and they were very receptive and apologetic to my complaint and said I was not the first person to complain about her. I do want to reiterate, my complaint is not with the hospital itself, but only with the vet on staff that evening. My suggestion to anyone going to this ER vet is that if Kristen O'Connell is the vet on staff when you have to go, please don't let her treat your beloved pet. If I had not listened to my gut with her, my kitten would have died at her hands because of her atrocious recommendation. I am not sure how she could be so cruel as to not give a suffering kitten medication to help keep her comfortable during a holiday weekend.

This place is great. They sold my friend 240 doses of pain medication for her dying cat. the cat died the next day cause they couldnt fix it. But at least we got something out of the trip cause the medicine was the same stuff my friend got when she hurt her leg. And much cheaper here than at the pharmacy. So we had a good weekend after all.

Jenna Cuzick

Pleasantly surprised! I never had a reason to take my dog to the emergency vet and assumed that it would be a really long wait. Instead, we experienced exceptional customer service! Melissa greeted us right away, took us to a room and made us feel at ease while she gathered necessary info, and the Dr visited the room not long after. While I hope other pet parents don't need to visit an emergency vet, I highly recommend this one!

This place was the only one open after 5pm that I could find in the area. I had to rush my cat in after she suddenly became sick... The Dr was incredibly kind and empathic, as well as the nurse and other members of staff. She was also very real with me, and told me my options plainly while still being kind. We unfortunately had to put our cat down, and it was very hard. A week after, they sent us a card with their condolences, and that just really touched me. Thank you for being so kind in such a difficult circumstance. The facility was nice, and felt private as well.

Losing Charlie Gator was heartbreaking. This hospital was like seeing the lost art of caring about people you don't know. In a day and age where people only care about the Almighty dollar it's nice to know that there is empathy still amongst us. Our pets are the children we choose and rescue so they can rescue us in the long run. What better lesson cancwe learn but Unconditional Love is truly the best gift known to us silly humans. My worries were put to rest with there help. My mind was at ease when they showed compassion and cared enough to bring out a beautiful black cat for me to pet and take a few minutes with some Furapey. They have chosen a service called Paw Prints for the cremation, which has delivered beyond my expectations. Thank you everyone and Blessings to you and your family.

I am shocked by the bad reviews. I brought my little dog here twice, and both times I found them to be so caring and patient. They saved his life both times. They were so caring and I totally did not feel like they were motivated by money. I called repeatedly every hour the night that he had to stay over and they were totally accommodating and compassionate. I had two different doctors one was male and one was female...I wish I could remember their names because they were both exceptional. I recommend them whole heartedly.

We have had to bring our pets to this emergency vet on several occasions. They are always up front and truly care about the animals they take care of. Very happy that they are here. They work with the best vet in town, Dr. Norma Haupt, too.

Reptar T-rex

I will NEVER!!! bring my pets to this place again! They never discussed what their care plan was for my pet while it was hospitalized there and then charged me for medications I did not agree to and blind sided me with added on charges. This place only cares about money and not your pets. I am going to recommended to everyone I do know and blast social media to not bring your pets to here. Maybe then a life can be saved

Tammy Evans

After speaking to Sheryl the vet tech at this ER center, I will NEVER EVER bring my dog there again. She is rude and the most insensitive person I have ever crossed paths with regarding animals. She treated my concern for my dog as a joke, even laughing on the phone!!! I had felt loyal to this center when Dr Genzier,(who is wonderful) sent me there when we did not think our dog was going to live but Dr Genzier and two other vets, that Sheryl informed me are no longer there saved his life. She also said that Dr Genzier is no longer on the board. And to top it off, after asking her to please have the vet, Dr Goode, call me instead of me speaking to her, the vet chose to have the tech call me back and say just bring him in, are you kidding me? This place is a joke!!! Needless to say, I would never trust a person like Sheryl or Dr Goode, who could not even call me to answer a question, to ever be around my dog!

Norbert Tuseo

Very nice staff

Vicki Warfield

They were friendly and took care of my dog's issue so quickly! When they have to sedate a dog, they use a medication that reverses quickly, so we were in and out in an hour, and my dog wasn't even groggy! They even clipped his nails and cleaned his ears, for no fee while he was under, and the total charge was less than the estimate. I couldn't be happier. I've used emergency vets before, and this was the best.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars. We lost our girl and they were the best people to have taken care of her/us in those moments. Today we recieved a handwritten card with the staff's condolences and our girl's paw print. We are forever grateful to them. This is one of the hardest things we have been through and they made it as easy as possible.

This place is legit. I've never had to take my kids to the ER and this place was highly recommended by a friend. I was afraid it was going to cost a fortune, but it didn't. Everyone was genuinely sincere. Thanks for taking care of my girls!

Mike Barrett

We unfortunately had to visit your office on Sunday night to have our 10 1/2 year old Labrador, Jasmine, put to sleep. We just wanted to thank you for your compassion that you showed during this time. Thank you! Patty and Mike

Our female had her puppy and on the 3rd day we noticed things weren't right. Ran to them and learned that the puppy back end was deformed on the legs and no bottom. They were so great with all of us including giving mom time to be with her little one as she passed. My heart and greatful thanks to you all. I will ALWAYS send people to you all. Wish all vets took lessons on care and compassion from you all.

my beloved almost 12 yr old English bulldog mix Hannah was seen by the vet here on a Saturday night after she started stumbling and crying in pain. she had issues with severe arthritis in her body, and had been on anti-inflammation meds as well as pain meds for the last couple years. all of the sudden her body broke down. The vet was absolutely amazing with us and our baby Hannah. So caring, like it was her dog too. After realizing that she needed to be euthanized, she sedated her and we were able to spend precious time with her when she was relaxed and out of pain. I cannot thank them enough, even called the next day to check on me. would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE.

This place is simply amazing. I was panicked when my kitten had gotten to her spay incision and opened it. We called them before coming, they were calming from the first contact and never stopped. We arrived with me in tears, holding my little one with what was I’m sure a very minor issue compared to all of the horrible things they must see. They immediately took us into a room, understood my reaction, and never made me feel silly for it. They were so gentle, with such compassionate bedside manners. I cannot say enough great things. Every person there was wonderful, and followed up a day or so later to check on the kitten. They must’ve even let our vet know about the visit, because the vet was already aware when we took her in the next day for an already scheduled visit. From start to finish, hands down, a wonderful experience at a time I was so filled with worry. Thank you all for taking awesome care of my baby!!!

Kelly Carter

From the initial phone call to leaving after our visit, excellent customer service, skill and compassion. Had a sunday morning emergency with a fish hook ....all ended well

Mikhail Levitsky

Lovely and professional personal. We bring our senior dog with serious condition on the middle of the night. Glad to meet with Doctor Iva Pokorny she did great job and our girl is happy again.

Morgan Hutcheson

We've been to see these nice folks twice in the past month. The first time, they knew right away what was wrong with our dachshund puppy, Lulu -- low blood sugar. They quickly had her back to normal. Then our Aussie, Pancho, had bad razor burn from an unfortunate slip at the groomer's, and he was pestering the wound. They were kind enough to waive the charge for Pancho's visit because it only required a $13 cone of shame. Hopefully, we'll never have to use them again, but it's great to know that they're around in case we need them.

Jackie A

This place is awesome. I had to take my dog in on Sunday evening. Unfortunately my dog did not make it. But they tried there best. And they were so caring and allowed me to spend some time with my dog after she had passed. They took such good care of my dog and me.

Debbie Wyatt

My dog was sick on a Sunday and I took him in to the emergency vets.Dr. John Glidewell and the entire staff were so friendly and caring. You could tell each one of them truly cared about my dog. They took the time to explain everything they were going to do to help my little guy and what the possible causes of his illness might be. If you ever need an emergency vet this is the place to go. So glad they were there for us.

Jen J

Most of the staff was great, however the doctor KRISTEN O'CONNELL was awful. Literally wasn't going to help our dog unless we spayed our dog. You read that right! She was going to let our dog suffer and make us take her somewhere else unless she could do an UNNECESSARY spay on our dog. We were shocked at her attitude and rudeness and lack of empathy. Only take your emergency here if Kristen O'Connell is NOT working, she doesn't know what ethics are.

Ryan Davis

We had to bring our Shiba-Inu here late last night after she had been vaccinated elsewhere earlier in the day. The staff was extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. Both the Vet and the Tech were more informative about our dog's health, complications with vaccines, and issues in general with seizures, in one visit, than our current vet has been over the last six to seven years. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The prices are also very reasonable given the services provided

Christian Burton

Lady was really rude on phone when I was just getting a price checks... but before someone calls she did say it's $95 just to look at the dog and $36 for flesh clean

Caitlin Coffman

Just had a scare with our little one and they took awesome care of us and our dog. So friendly and very determined to take care of our baby, and to go through the after care instructions with us. I would recommend them to everyone for an emergency vet!

No Would Help Me But These Kind People Here At St.Augstine Regional Veterinary . I Told Them My Situation They Listened To My Situation . They Were Very Kind & Very Helpful. My Dog Dutchess Was Very Sick I Needed Get Her To A Vet. They Opened Their Doors For Us. My Dog Had To Be Put To Sleep. But They Let My Finacee & I Say Good Bye To Our Best Friend & Baby. The Staff Was Excellent With The Care Of Our Dog's Final Hour . The Staff Had A Angel Banket Over Her As She Layed On The Table During Dutchess Final Hour. That Gave Me Relief That Dutchess Was Put To Sleep Peacefully In Her Final Hour As Tears Flowed Out Of My Eyes Down My Face. God I Never Thought I Would Be Wearing These Shoes . I Use To Think A Person Crying Over A Pet Was Stupid. But Until U Walk In Those Shoes U Will Never Know How It Feels. Now Here I Am Today Walking In The Same Shoes . I Now Know The Pain Of Losing A Pet. But Yet The Staff Gave Me Great Comfort & They Were Very Truthful With Telling Me My Dog Could Not Be Saved. They Are A Staff That Care About The Well Being Of The Pet. I Say Thank You To The Staff.

Joy Holder

The staff was great!!! Plus Dr. Adam was so caring and he saved my beautiful Persian Cat's life. My beautiful, sweet cat was on the lanai by the pool when a nasty frog got in some way. He batted at the frog several times and I think the frog must have secreted toxins. I tried to get the frog to hop away but It seemed to want to agitate my cat. I think when my cat licked his paws the toxins got into his mouth and he had a terrible allergic reaction. Dr. Adam knew exactly what to do for him. On the way to their office my cat was panting and could hardly breathe, his eyes were closed so tight and they were blood red. Dr. Adam gave him a steroid shot and a shot of Benadryl. Thank goodness for such a knowledgeable and caring vet! The staff was caring and fantastic too. I pray nothing ever happens to my wonderful cat again but, if it does I wont hesitate to take him to this office and pray that Dr. Adam is on duty. Thank you everyone!!!!! They even called to check on my cat the next day and a few days later too.

Lynn Grave

My new puppy got bit by a baby rattler and I thought hello! Was going to die. This place was AMAZING!! Caring, listened and took care of my blue like their own! If I could give 10 stars I would!!!!

brianna cordaro

Absolutely horrible bed side manner from the doctor. The nurses were good. I was Left in a room for at least 2 hour's and I still didn't have a answer for what was going on with my dog. I sat in a room with vomit and bloody stool that I kept cleaning up. The receptionist came in with an estimate for treatment and still I no idea what was wrong with my dog. I finally had to get someone for answers and she was rude. I understand there are emergency that are more important but don't forget about the other people waiting that are worried about their pet's. Have a little bed side manner and pretend that you Care.
