I brought my dog in to be groomed and while I was there a Shih tzu was in grooming having the ear hairs pulled. The groomer attached the hair inside the ear with the forcepes and twisted as hard as she could as the dog screamed very loudly in obvious pain. I watched this happen several times and then had to say something to the lady at the counter. She said the ear hair needs to be pulled to avoid infection. I have pulled my own dogs ear hair and take small amounts of hair at a time. It is ignorant to assume that a dog needs to be put through such pain to clean the ears and have found in my experience that there are always less painful ways to achieve the same results. It might just take a little more time. Anyone who has pulled their own hair knows that pulling a large clump at one time is very painful and also much harder to pull out than when taking smaller amounts of hair at a time. I told them to leave my poodles ear hair alone. I also never went back.

This is a great place. I only ever get treats and toys for my dog so i dont know about everything this place offers but the staff is always super friendly, helpful and always smiling!

I Love this place you can see you pet anytime on there pet cam live feed. That was a Tuesday review the first day I dropped him off. Wednesday his cam stopped working at 10:30am.so now I am a bit worried cause I can't see how he is the kennel is empty. Hopeful someone will get back to me Thursday to let me know he is fine and fix the cam. The days are very hot so I am hoping they have the A/C running. And playing with him inside. I believe in addition to the pet cam they should post pictures on FB of the dogs at play for that day. So we can see what kind of time he is having.

We used the pet hotel for our dog over the weekend. Overall good experience. The staff was friendly and they upgraded our dogs room without any additional charges so that he wouldn't have to step up (he has arthritis). He did come back with a rather large hot spot from alergies though. I don't blame them for that but would have been nice if they noticed and brought to my attention especially since they had a vet onsite. It's also a rather long check in process. I understand wanting to be thorough but seemed a little overkill. In general for an older dog it's a good option.

My husband and I toured the facility after moving to the area. We had a bad expierence prior to going to royal pets at another vet office and were on the search for the perfect vet for our boy! We did lots of research online on wellness program but from the minute we walked in the door we were greeted by a very welcoming lady working at the counter who then lead us to both the vet area and boarding/daycare area! Through the whole experience everyone was so respectful and professional but while showing their love and compassion for animal. They addressed not only my husband and I but our dog Riggs giving him treats , petting on him , talking to them. It was a wonderful experience and for dog parents who are very picky with who is with our baby they won us over quickly! I also would love to mention how beautiful the inside is. It was organized and I also a lot of people mentioning how it smelled and to be honest I thought it smelled good? I have no complaints , can't wait for Riggs to be apart of royal pets family!

This place is as state-of-the art as pet shop is going to be. The staff is great and they are obviously all animal lovers. We've had our Yellow Lab and Lhasa groomed and boarded here multiple times. As a business traveler I get to stay at many hotels each year. I'm thinking my dogs are being treated better than I am. I' coming back as a 3-legged Sheep Dog Pup!

I took my golden in to the vet here and he loved it and we loved it too. You walk into a store and the dogs don't even know it's a vet also it comforts the animals I feel. After the vet visit you can shop the store for the items that may help your fur baby out after the visit which is very helpful so you aren't having to go to so many stores when you have a sick pup in the car . The vet we had was amazing she really took the time and listened to us instead of all the other vets where they have no time for you. Also there is a lady in the front who is amazing she knows how to sell us things we need and she is the one who made us think about coming here. Just want to say thank you for being amazing in every way! Dr. Kristi Tipton was who we saw and just wanted to show some gratitude towards her cause she was the best vet that we have ever gone to. Thank you all again!

I was taking a last minute weekend trip and did not know where to take my 4 legged children. I thought of the Royal Pet Market and Resort because a friend told me about the Market and the fact that a vet was right there and able to provide my kids with their vaccines right before I left was so convenient. They went to doggie day care and did well which made me so relieved as they usually are just with each other and I was worried about how they would interact with other four legged children. I was thrilled all went well. The staff was wonderful and let me know all about their behavior. The only thing I wish I had was a picture of them at day care....

Barb is amazing! My pup Marley is very difficult. My pup is a rescue and came from a hoarder home where she was not treated the best. It is very hard to get her groomed and takes a bit of time. Barb made sure to take her time with my baby so that she did not get too anxious. I am forever grateful!

This place is amazing!!! I was looking for smaller amounts of healthy food for my dog. She only eats people food and on nights we go out or she doesn't like what we have I wanted to make sure she would eat something. They have a wide variety of small bags. The cashier was amazing and very helpful. They offer grooming and have insurance for your pet. They have vets and a pet hotel and spa.

My dog Benji loves coming here!! We take advantage of pretty much all of their services they have to offer. He goes to the day care almost every Saturday (he is 9 months and needs play time, mommy needs time to clean and run errands (: Anytime we have called the vet services to get in they have gotten him in within a couple of hours of when I have called. The staff is extremely knowledgable about the different products they sell. Its so nice to be able to see Benji being groomed, too! This place is a one-stop shop and a great one at that. We will be using the over night services this weekend and I am confident they will take great care of our baby Benji. Keep doing what you're doing, guys!

The vet techs Brandy and Rachel super friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Jake in the grooming salon is wonderful with our dogs. Jeremy is THE BEST. He's always so friendly, helpful, really goes above and beyond whenever we need something. I would hire any of these folks, you can tell they genuinely love animals and we trust them to take good care of our babies.

My dog always walks into Royal Pets all happy and excited and she especially loves Andrea! Another great service that they have is the doggie day care which my dog enjoys. She's always exhausted when we pick her up from all that playtime that she gets. I've never walked out of that store unhappy and it's the only place I'll take my dog. It's truly a great company!

Apparently because we buy our vaccinations at Tractor Supply and do our own that's not good enough...... and when we spoke with them about this they got snippy..... NO WAY!!!! I was about to go in here with my dog and there was a lady in the kennel area (an employee) SCREAMING at the dogs that were out. Absolutely SCREAMING at them. I grabbed my dog and left so I wouldn't act like a fool. I like dogs more than I like ANYTHING. So I saved myself from going to jail that day.

The Place is really well decorated.. Smells nice inside and nice to walk around.. They are Pet friendly while shopping. They offer boarding for Dogs and Cats. They have a full Vet and Grooming as well. Their staff are friendly.. I removed a star because they can be difficult with some things.. Had issues with getting food for my dog.. the Vet has my dog on a certain food because he has always had a stomach issue.. and you can only get the food through the vet. And I had not been back to see their vet for a bit and would not let me pick up the food.. That pissed me off... SO.. I went to a diff vet (that I had never been to) to pick up the food that I was out of and they sold it to me without Question. Royal Pets almost lost me for good because of that.. I only dropped them one star from a full 5 because for the most part they have been great.. But if an instance happens like that again.. I will edit this review and they will indeed lose me as a customer.. So.. Tighten up.

Appalling how I read reviews of concerns and see feedback of how how small and large dogs are kept separated and decided to see for myself, glad I did, it’s 91 outside small and large dogs Are in fact kept together no fans were on in this outdoor kennel I witnessed and I could see several small dogs stressed trying to get the attendants attention as they had their phone in hand. Very disappointed that one of those fur baby’s could have been mine and suffered a possible heat stroke out here as only water on bowls do not suffice in this heat! Perhaps mist and fans should be on as a heat precaution and a no phone policy in play. Very sad and deeply concerning.

Here in Tarpon Springs for 2 months, our 14 year old shitzu desperately needed a grooming, he has cataracts and the fur around his eyes was making it very difficult to see, as well being very uncomfortable. We tried 2 other grooming facilities to see if they would be able to clean up around his face and eyes, he is a very difficult customer due to his age and his high level of anxiety, unfortunately they were not successful. I called Royal and made an appointment, because they have a vet on site she was able to look at Petey before his grooming and suggested a mild sedative might help, I know up in Canada when I take him to the vet it costs me minimum $50.00 for a check up, they did not charge me for the exam, only for the price of the meds. We booked a grooming appointment but the groomer was unsuccessful the first time due to Petey's anxiety, we tried again 2 days later after doubling the initial dose of sedative, Royal assigned Barb to be the groomer, a godsend, even though Petey was still being a pain she was able to take her time and totally groom him including an excellent job around his eyes, what a difference it made for him, 3 days after he still a happy camper and looks and I'm sure feels so much better, thank-you Barb for sticking with him, you did an excellent job

Fantastic One Stop Shop! This place is so awesome. No more having to worry about taking time away from work to bring your pet to the vet or the groomer. Just bring them to Royal Pet Resort and get the full report at the end of the day! A. I dropped my pup off for doggie day camp where he got to play with others and practiced some commands. Then, the groomer took him for the afternoon. The groomer, Cathi, was sure to call me and ask for details. She did a great job! After the bath and the haircut, Cathi called to let me know my pup was ready for pick up (4pm). I came in, told the staff that I had to grab some food and treats, and they met me at the register with my pup. I was only charged a half of a day for doggie camp since he spent half of the day with the groomer. What a deal! B. In another scenario, I was worried about my pup having an ear infection. He went to day camp, then saw the vet when s/he came in, and went back to day camp. I got a call that his ear swabs came back with a bacterial infection. When I came in to pick up my pup, they had his prescriptions and checkup paperwork. I approved of the prescriptions, took everything to the register and off we went! Best of all, my pup was too tired to scratch at those ears for the rest of the night.

Brought my 6 year old golden in today. She has never been groomed and can get very nervous. I am very protective of her and researched groomers for a month. I almost did it myself bc I get nervous about her being nervous and a groomer treating her well. Well I setting on Royal Pets (after buying grooming equipment myself) bc my boyfriend's coworker said they are really good. I drove over half hour to bring her here. I ran errands but hovered in area for the 2 1/2 hours in case they called. She did great, they did great! Cathy groomed her. After meeting with Cathy when I dropped Winnie off I really trusted her, she seems really good at her job and like she loves your pup. Cathy at Royal Pets! Highly recommend!

Worst vet ever! Sales people are incapable of making decisions without speaking to someone else. One person never knows what the other is doing. Lots of miscommunication so calls aren’t returned. Our last day there and soglad we’re not going back. They find an excuse not to do a procedure every visit but by bombards you with reminder. We’re done here. My dog hates it ... we should have listened.

Very unhappy with last day care visit, as our dog contracted kennel cough. Our dog was up to date on her vaccines. She has been very sick since her visit and we are now taking care of our sick pup, and paying vet bills. Not thrilled.

Great place! I use both the store and kennel frequently. They accommodate special requests for dogs such as meds etc very well and call if any issues. The area they keep the dogs in is very nice and some rooms even have a patio/outdoor area where they can go out as they please.

I went on a tour of the facility last week. For daycare all the dogs are kept outside the entire day. It was over 90 degrees outside and every dog was panting profusely begging to come inside. I will never take my dogs there. The have the dogs outside for a few minutes at a time is fine, but to have the dogs outside in this heat all day is just an terrible accident waiting to happen.

This review is dog hotel only. Took my dog after calling the day before turns out new dogs are only aloud on certain days the man I talked to never said that they made a exception let her stay. They will not let your dog have any toys with squeakers,stuffing or rope on them and dogs can not wear their own collars clothes or hairbows. Staff said to me if you have a problem you don't have to come here when I said I needed her to have her toys she is teething baby.

Went there to get some info on the daycare. While I was there I figured I would pick up some dog food. I couldn't find the dog food I wanted. I just wanted to ask if they carried the food. There were two clerks working by the register. One had a line of 7 people. The other was helping a customer with a leash and totally ignored me. I asked the vet tech and the daycare person. They didn't know anything about the items carried in the store. The computer tech guy finally found out for me that the store will get the food in two weeks. The whole ordeal to get the information that they didn't have the food took 15 minutes. I could have driven to Petco in that time, which is where I'll be shopping from now on. Royal Pets needs to have more sales associates available to help people.

We have been taking our dog to palm harbor store since it opened. We have a 15 year old golden who was due annual vaccines. The vet refused to give annual vaccines because of flaky skin and wanted to do skin cultures beforehand. Mind you we were already using medicated shampoos and foods from royal pet. I walked out. Went to another vet this morning and told him entire story. He saw nothing wrong with skin at all other than flaky but did in House culture as precaution. Came back negative he then proceeded to give dog annual vaccinations. He could not understand any reason they would not give annual shots. Point being she was trying to upsell me into other services I did not need andbused my dogs annual vaccination as hostage. I thought I was going to a vet and not a salesman. Will never go back to that store for anything.

Before today, I did not know your store existed. I went there to shop at Sprouts, sharing the parking lot with you. I sat in my car, mesmerized by the happy dogs playing in the safe, clean, outdoor area. Fans keep it cool, with a sun covering. The big dogs are separated from the smaller dogs, and they are well cared for. People are there constanly keeping the mostly grassy area clean from dog waste, and they are played with. I must have watched almost an hour before I actually went shopping at Sprouts, then when I returned to my car, there were even more dogs in the play yard. I just had to sit and watch all the happy play going on. I did not have time to visit your store, but it made a big impression on me, and I told my daughter, who has two precious mini doxies, who I know would love it there. She will be visiting there shortly.

The staff is not as thoroughly educated on products as the original staff that was there at the store's grand opening. They are consistently out of stock on several items leaving me to have to order them and wait for the store to receive them. The freezer in the back of the store for the dog food has been broken for over 12 months. None of the staff knows when it will be fixed. Overall, the store is inconsistent, and leaves me inconvenienced.

If I could give the Managemnet group 0, I would. They are not professional with jobs-interviews-emails and phone calls. You CANNOT run a business like that for a long time. I'm so glad that you did not interview me because when a sr. operations lead&project manager says at this such a time day having phone calls interview with you and you don't receive any phone call even don't reply to your email when follow up with them ..... it's SO SO SO UNPROFESSIONAL and disrespectful , that's not RIGHT and I make sure all my friends who has pets know about your place and how disrespectful you are

Took my puppy Andy in for doggy daycare and he loved it!! The staff was very attentive and helpful. We were able to get his vaccines up to date at the Veterinary center and were very pleased with the Veterinarian and staff. Looking forward to going back!

I am shocked at the negative reviews. I have been taking my dogs to this facility since it opened and they ALWAYS love going there. The groomers always request specific information as to my wishes and they have never never never not delivered on what I requested. When I arrive to pick them up they are happy and very chipper. I have had the convenience of using their on site veterinarian services for shots and couldn't be more pleased with the price and the complete care given. If you are seeking a facility that really is run extremely well and consistent this truly is a nice, clean well staffed well run business. PS. I have about 10 other friends who also take their dogs there for grooming and boarding. I have never had the need to use the boarding facility but friends have and love it. They do allow you to just come and tour the boarding accommodations. So I would encourage you to go observe for your self.

90% of the time it's a good experience. There is good as any other place, but the prices are little high. However I do no skimping when it comes to my pets and this place does have quality on its side. It does however puzzle me that they do not have a better selection of Solid Gold products. You may or may not know this but they were the first truly holistic dog food and cat food company. Every other brand now tries to copy them, and some of them do a good job of it but solid gold is still the best. Royal Pets Terry's a very limited amount of solid gold products. Most people don't know this either but the person who founded solid gold products is a woman. She was definitely a Pioneer and doesn't get enough credit I think for her sacrifices. Her story is very interesting and is available online.

You could Visit this store just for the heck of it. Watch the dogs play. We get our guy a haircut here every 6 weeks or so. Good, fair price, and very nice staff.

At first I loved Royal Pets, but after a year of going there I was constantly disappointed by the grooming. I thought maybe I wasn’t explaining the style I wanted correctly, but I have since taken my dog to other places and they cut his hair perfectly on the first try. I’ve also dropped him for daycare several times, which was also fine at first. Then the staff started playing on their cell phones and not actually watching and interacting with the dogs. As a result, my dog was laying on his back (trying to surrender) while other dogs being overly aggressive with him. After 15 minutes of watching this from the parking lot, I went back inside and said I’m taking my dog home. After several contacts to management about my frustration, I never received a return phone call or email. Needless to say, we will not be going back.

Staff was vulgar and unprofessional,dogs in daycare spend 7 HOURS outside in the florida heat,inside playroom with pool has no ventilation AT ALL and the mold smell is overwhelming, I was told by a staff member that dogs die there often, big puppies were playing in small dog pen and slamming a small senior dog around. I have never seen such complete disregard for pets at a PET DAYCARE. Anyone who does a tour needs to step into the rooms themselves.

I took a Great Pyrenees mix that was extremely matted to this place, from our rescue, because of Montanna, a fantastic groomer. She used took groom our Great Collie mix, and he always looked amazing. If you have a long furred dog that needs love, kindness, and spectacular grooming skills. Ask for Montanna, you will not be disappointed.

This is like Nordstroms but for your pet. Great selection of products and services - grooming, pet spa, veterinarian services, doggy day camp, etc. Staff is super friendly! They even carry my brand of dog food (Fromm). Only down side is I don't live closer to make this my go to place. Will definitely visit again when I'm in the area. 4 paws up!!

This place is awesome. My husband and I have a 6 1/2 month old chocolate lab. He is our baby so we were so nervous of leaving him someone during the day. I've held off writing a review because we were waiting for something to go wrong. lol Anyway we've been taking Kona between 3-4 days every week for almost 3 months. When I drop Kona off in the morning I can barely contain him! He runs straight for these guys, Dan and Morgan are the best! Its such a relief to know that I don't have to have him locked up in a crate all day! My husband and I searched every single doggie day care within a 30 mile radius and this is BY FAR the best place and the only place that I would trust with leaving Kona. Facility is clean, reasonably priced, large areas for the dogs to play. I can't wait for St Pete to open!!!

"Scam and “Rip-off “ I made an appointment at Royal Pets Market and Resort for my dog to have a bath only. When I got called to pick her up. I headed out and was there within 10 minutes. She seemed happy and looked as though they did a good job. When it came time to pay their 57.00 dog grooming service, it suddenly became a 77.00 grooming expense instead. They argued with me and kept giving me all kinds of reasons why I needed to pay that price. I immediately asked to speak to the manager, Mary, and explained my case. She clearly saw how upset I was and how I was being treated. They went to the appointment book and saw I was right. I was not booked for an “ express bath”. She said that there are some grey areas that they need to work on. Mary assured me that she would call me back so that I will never experience this again. I am still waiting for Mary’s call. In my opinion, this experience was anything but professional. I left feeling like I was getting ripped-off and that they were scamming me. I don’t know why, I am still scratching my head in disbelief.
