What a wonderful experience we had here. What could have been a dreadful night was made smooth and easy by the knowledgeable and caring staff at Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic. Clean and easy accessible; well staffed and well equipped. No one ever wants to go to the ER Vet but if you have to, this is the one. We drove 55+ min from Orlando and it was worth EVERY MINUTE OF THE DRIVE.

My dog recently got ran over... I decided to take her to the vet ASAP. I was nothing but nice but received attitude In such a unfortunate event. It’s your job to not be a pain when I’m the one giving you my cash to do your job is really amusing. I was calm the entire time. And tried to mention my dog front paws were the ones that actually took more of the collision due to the fact that she had a tire mark on her paws. Paid almost 300 DOLLARS FOR X-rays EXCEPT HER PAWS? Are you kidding me????? To be told “ their appears to be no fractures around the paws so we didn’t X Ray that portion”... you must really take me as a idiot lmao... like you have X Ray vision to tell me that diagnostic of internal issues. P.S. I don’t want a explanation. I know what I saw and heard. I don’t wanna see record. I’m AWARE OF WHAT HAPPENED AND WHAT I WAS CHARGED VS THE SERVICE I DID NOT RECEIVE. It might not be a big deal to you but it is to me considering it’s not your MONEY. I was the PAYING customer for the half a$$ service. I just want to be promised for change and not excuses or justification. Because if I get a response full of excuses lmao. Try justify how you walked away while I was talking in a middle of a sentence REGARDING my animal and were more concerned about making money. You’re no better than me. PERIOD.

While I understand emergency clinics require over night staff, more costly treatment and have a higher overhead than most, I feel there is no excuse for the poor care given to my seeet cat , Pete. On January 31st, I brought Pete in around 9 pm , lethargic and weak. I was given an estimate of $499.00 and I paid that in full. I was told it wasn’t looking good for Pete. I called in the middle of the night to check on my sweet boy and was advised it was highly likely he would pass before morning and there was nothing else I could do, no further treatment. The cost did not matter to me, but Dr. Kim Patrick advised not to “waste anymore funds on Pete, and use them for a different rescue that had a better chance” Pete was not just a rescue kitty to me, his life matters. They ALL matter!!!!!! Funny story though, within an hour of my picking Pete up at 7am and transferring him to my vet I was given a 100% different outcome, that Pete would be okay he just needed more antibiotics and breathing treatments for a few days . Dr Kim Patrick was terribly rude and cold, and I will not go back.

Never ever again, you are only in it for the bucks. I thought my chi might have gotten some Albuterol after I found a Albuterol vial on the floor with liquid around it. So I looked Albuterol ingestion in dogs and found multiple sites explaining what Albuterol is and symptoms dogs would experience if they ingested it. I wasn't sure she had ingested it, but I figured since we live so close I would run down and be willing to pay your inflated prices just to have you checked her heart rate....well, your non personable clerk didn't even want to hear why I was there, just handed me the clip board to fill out my info...then when I handed it back to her and finally got to tell her why we were there, she disappeared and came back and told me I would have to call poison control and handed me a card to make the call... I told her there are sites on the internet for that info and she said they don't have the right info....bull...then I call and they want $59.00 to tell me what Albuterol is, which I know, and how the vet can treat it...WOW...sounds like, well I will leave it up to you figure out exactly what I think of that arrangement. I would have been willing to pay your inflated prices to check her heart rate first since I was not sure it was her chewed it or one of the cats. We left, with my paperwork we filled out, so you couldn't charge me FOR MY TIME WASTED, and your clerk couldn't have cared. Her attitude is a reflection of how bad your practice is.

I had taken my baby here and she was diagnosed with pyrometria and needed surgery. The vet was rude and uncompassionate and insisted that I uthernize her cause all I had was a 500.00 care credit.Of course I said no.She then told me to take her to the vet in the morning IF she lived through the night! I cried all night watching her. I took her to Dr Durham the next morning and not only did he take the care credit but he told me about scratchpay. My little girl is alive and well today !

Took my 2 dogs for venomous snake bites last night. The first thing I saw were bags of cremated pet remains on the counter as I checked in- absolutely terrible. The nurse was so rude, zero compassion and just seemed miserable to be there. The doctor just seemed off and after wasting 45 minutes of our time told us that they couldn’t treat my dogs because no vet would be there in the morning and my dogs needed 24 hour around the clock observation. I asked them to let the vet we were then headed to know and they said they would. When I arrived to the different vet they told me parkway refused to give any information and seemed rude and unhelpful. Keep in mind, my dogs needed anti venom and very time sensitive. I would never recommend these people to care for your pets. Shameful.

Jennifer Rednock

I've been twice. They are a bit more casual then most Vet offices. My overall experience has been good. They were very helpful, not pushy, and they were caring. My dog needed help and they helped.

We took our cat Tyler to parkway. All of the staff was very nice and took very good care of Tyler. We got to office at 8:00 pm, on 4/16/19. Had to return at 10:00 to pick him up. The entire visit was a very pleasant experience. Thank you so much.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. My dog had surgery 5 days ago. She busted some stitches and I took her in to get them replaced. They told me she was fine until I could take her to my vet in the morning. Please tell me how they can let the dog walk out of there with a gaping hole in her thigh. Not only that, the staff was rude on the phone and in person. To top it off, they didn’t even offer to clean the wound or bandage it up for me until I could take her in the morning. They just didn’t want to be bothered.

Kimberly Obrien

I brought my cat in to have emergency surgery and was very nervous about leaving him over night. Dr. Pratt was very friendly and I could tell she had a true heart for animals which comforted me in leaving my baby. The staff at the hospital was kind and helpful. Overall we had a great experience and Parkway took great care of my cat.

Alexus Suarez

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE PLEASE I BEG YOU. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. I called them 6 times before coming and no one answered the phone!! my dog went into labor and had a puppy stuck inside of her which was too big for her to expel on her own and when we showed up they didnt seem to care that we were in a state of emergency and just told us there was no vet on staff. Then sent us to another location over 30 mins away!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN

K K

Thank you for making our dachshund comfortable last nite, until we can get her seen at our regular Vet. Staff was very nice and caring.

Marilena Falkenbury

Had to take my Chihuahua to parkway tonight. Honestly the staff was very robotic. No emotion on there faces, we there there at 7pm. The vet was the same way very robotic and expressionless. So what they do is after you tell them what is wrong with the dog, they com eout with this long list of stuff they want to do, felt like it was shoved in my face and told to sign, when you see the price tag and question it, the vet tech steps back and looks at you like you did something wrong. It just cost over $558 to have my dog looked at, blood drawn and medication given. Now most of the costs were around 20 to 40 dollars, and that adds up when they present you with a laundry list of stuff. The most outrageous price was for a particular blood draw at $190, absolutely ridiculous price, mind you they tested for several things so $190 wasnt the total lab fee. All in all, like there robotic expressions tonight, I can't say terrible experience and I cant say I would return. In a pinch it worked to make sure my 15 yr old chi was ok. 3 stars is for the care. Beside manor needs alot of work. (Entire staff) which tonght consisted of 3 people.

Patricia Wright

We took are kitten on 4/22 for URI. The girl assisting the vet was so rough with our kitten. They way she pull it around, when the cat hissed at her, she raised her hand like she would slap the cat. I took over from there. This tech was not friendly at all. She is lucky I didn't slap her.

Lee Ann Mizell

The staff & the vet were absolutely wonderful!! They pinpointed exactly what was wrong with my dog when my primary vet did not. I am very thankful for the outstanding customer service, as well as their kindness at a time in desperate need. I highly recommend you take your fur baby there when needed. Thank you all so much!!

Becca Tellus

Our cat, Luna, was ill on Saturday and our vet was not in the office. I called several other vets in the area and either they were closing, it was near 12:00 p.m., or since I was not a regular customer, would not see my cat. We were referred to Parkway. We called and was told that the vet would be there at 3:00 so we arrived about 2:30. Jessica, Rudy, and Dr. Curry were extremely caring & professional. Dr. Curry did an examination and blood work and diagnosed that Luna had an infection. She administered the proper medication and by Monday Luna was much improved and almost back to normal. Luna wanted to say, "Thank-you very much!"

Michael Strickland

Poor service . Not even helpful or friendly. Very rude to speak with on the phone

Asia Baby

Worst place!! My dog got hit by a car! Paid 100 dollars just to have him checked and they wanted over a grand to keep him and do anything to him. We left and took him to a vet during the day and it was only 90 bucks to take care of him and they said he didn't need his leg amputated like these people did. How can you let a animal leave knowing there in bad shape. Don't go here. If you do get a 2nd vet to check them out. If i could give a zero i would.

Marta Vega

The person in front that says that is the doctor is hostile and rude. She doesn't listen and talk over you. She gives you the worst scenario of what would happen to your dog if you decide to treat it there. Like they don't want complicated cases on an "Emergency Clinic"...

mercy

Would not recommend to anyone. I mentioned I was not happy with prices considering they are charging almost 3 gran in one night for operation that cost 400 to 500 dollars. I was told coldly by the staff my pet was my responsibility and 3 gran was not a bad price. Even a person who had money to spare would not expect to get hit with a 3 gran bill in one night. Ended up paying over a gran and taking my animal to a Cleveland Heights clinic next morning that did surgery less price and very compassionate.

Cynthia Gurley

They are very nice and caring, however, and EMERGENCY vet should have splints and cast mix when you bring your cat in with a broken foot. If we were going to have to wait until the next day anyway we could have saved that money that was paid for absolutely nothing . Not to mention that they overdosed my 15 year old dog a few months ago.

Reinier Munguia

Great clinic with excellent service, great doctors and techs.

Jillian Lyons

My dogs chest was split open and I'm panicking so I call another emergency vet clinic in Lakeland and they say they are closing and that I need to head to Parkway. It's 6pm on a Monday and I start driving to Parkway. My husband calls to let them know that it's an emergency and that we were coming in. He was told over the phone that there was no vet in for at least another hour and that I would need to take my dog somewhere else because they couldn't help me either. I drove from North Lakeland to VHA in Winter Haven just to get some help. My dog almost died and had to have surgery that night. Extremely disappointed and confused about the service at Parkway.

Christy King

After hours is severly lacking. Doctor would rather go outside and text when your pet is the only animal in the facility, vet tech (female w/short black hair) has the wort bedside manner known to man. I offered to put a muzzle on my dog, restrain my dog, etc and she made me leave the treatment room. When I did so (just to pay my big$$$) she just put my poor puppy in severe pain in a kennel instead of sweating her and went to call her friend on the phone and giggle and laugh. My family was So very worried about our pup, but has to wait all night after a ENOURMOUS bill to keep our pet overnight. Shame on you folks for squeezing a family w/ worry and pain for their loved one

Jennifer Peters

We had a phenomenal experience here when we lost our sweet kitty last night. I expected they would be cold to the process of losing a pet based on the fact that they see it every day, but they were so compassionate through our mourning process and mourned our sweet boy right there with us. They made the process seamless and we are so thankful for them. Will return without question should the need ever arise.

Craig Rude

Absolutely useless staff!

Alexandra Celeste

The staff is extremely friendly and reassuring. Dr. Niedens and Danielle were super helpful; Dr. Niedens was amazing, she explained everything that was wrong with my puppy walking out of the door I had no questions, concerns, or anxiety about bringing my puppy home. I've never had to utilize the emergency clinic before and was very wary about what was about to happen, the moment I called en route to the clinic Danielle's calming attitude was effective which was relieving to me. Hopefully I won't have to go back for any more emergencies but if I do I'm happy to know that they're there.

kelly scott

After, waiting 2 hours for my dog to be seen, the vet came out not even checking on my dog. They said they do not have the equipment to perform a c-section. Worst visit ever... I hope you call around and do not waste your money or time here.

Christine Smith

Please do not depend on this place for help! My precious boy is gone because I was told they could not help me at 5:00 am. They do not follow hours and will tell you they do not have a vet on staff! I will Never refer or defend them to anyone!

Mikayla Sanford

We took our dog in last night, she was vomiting and had blood in her stool. The staff was extremely kind to us and our dog. We were nervous about what the cost would be (even got a CareCredit Card before going in) but the final price was very reasonable.

This clinic is amazing the staff and doctors are very friendly and knowledgeable. These other reviews of people complaining about prices don't realize that there are few emergency clinics in the area and they are priced well. Yes you have to have payment that night but that's any emergency clinic they offer care credit as a payment option.

Rev. Darrell J. Bailey

Looking through the below reviews, it looks like the rebuttals are less concerned about the overall care provided and more about making the owner sound irresponsible. We were upfront when we took my Dachaund in due to him bleeding everytime he sneezed. this was due to deteriorating gumline (he is 14 yo). The vet on duty explained that there was surgery required to repair the damage that no vet in polk county could handle. He said only one doctor in central florida could perform that procedure and estimated cost were 4-5 grand. without it, out dog would be better put down. We left and decided to take him to another Vet in South Lakeland to be put down peacefully as 4-5 thousand dollars is not feasible for us, and the vet felt that our dog may not be a candidate for anesthesia. When we took him to Christina Animal hospital, they examined him before the euthanasia, and said that while it was a bad case, it was not impossible and felt they could fix the issue for only $1200 max. Fast forward 3 weeks later and Dipper has healed well! The cost is way less than even Christina Quoted and he has one small procedure left after he completely heals, but we have our old dog back.... literally seemed to have taken 4 years off his age.

Morgan Swem

They were very kind and straightforward. They helped my puppy feel better and made sure that we knew what was happening every step of the way. The vet even came out to the waiting room and sat down with me to talk about his blood work and explained the treatment. They treated my dog as their own and i'm very thankful for them!

Briana Buczek

We took our bullmastiff with a cancer diagnosis here on a bad Sunday for some fluids and a nausea shot. I was a crying mess. The staff was incredible. They were thoughtful and compassioniate. The lobby was busy and he is huge and does not play with others, they came to my car. A big thank you to the staff, thank you again for being lovely.

Christine Koisa

Our lab Scuby unfortunately needed to be laid to rest on Christmas Eve we had never been to this vet before but they were open and as you can imagine at a time like this familiar faces can be comforting. Everyone was very kind, thoughtful of our needs, very sympathetic and overall just nice! I didn’t catch her name of course with all of the emotions but the tech wearing all black scrubs with short brunette hair who prepared the iv was exceptionally kind, she spoke to Scuby as if he had been her “patient” for years and we truly appreciated her! To top it off we received a letter tonight sharing their condolences, not just a generic oh our company does this w.e card but they physically signed it and wrote kind words that is over and beyond. Good people are hard to come by but they do work here!!

Tesa Melendez

Me and my sister brought in our cat who gave birth to 2 babies and was DYING. These people said we had to pay $1,200 before they would even do anything. I had $500 CASH on me right then and there and they wouldn't do anything!!! They let our cat die in my sisters arm. They said even if we did have the money and they did the surgery, she would probably only have a 25% chance to live. I DON'T CARE IF IT WAS 5%. It's some kind of percentage to show you TRIED. Not just say "Well, they have no money. Let's deny their care." Your mission statement is a LIE. That's like denying a damn human a chance to live. That cat was a part of our FAMILY. Instead, the only option left was for you to put her to sleep. We got charged $88 for an exam fee when you had to basically kill her. I will NEVER, EVER bring my babies to you guys again. My regular vet only asks for a deposit until care is done. I had no choice though since it was 11 at night and I had drive almost an hour and a half to get to this place.

Picked up our Dinah ♡ everyone so so nice dealing with our beloved little girl. She was treated with dignity and respect.

We are new to the area and this was the only place open late in the area we could find - Dog had a bad snakebite they had anti venom in stock - 3 doses - saved his life! Monday am we transferred him with referral from them to weekend doctors full time facility and he had continued care. The staff kept us up to date through the nights and days to make sure we were well informed of his progress.

Rissa (hope I'm spelling it correctly) was wonderful. She was so patient and careful with the stray cat I brought. Dr. Mckoy was good. I will definitely choose this facility for my pet emergencies. Thank you all!❤❤❤

My favorite emergency hospital! Have been here multiple times over the years. Caring and compassionate. Great and knowledgeable veterinary staff. Reasonable prices. Thanks for taking care of my critter children.

I would never in a million years refer this place to anyone the staff is very empathetic when I took my Sadie there after having seizures all afternoon, night and into early morning hours I took my baby there to get some kind of help and i didnt have much money but i wasnt asking for surgery just give her something to help stop the seizures til i could get her to her vet later that morning..I was hysterically crying it was 4 days before Christmas and the lady looked at me and told me there was nothing they could do for her and wouldnt even look at my baby i finally had to put her down so that she didnt suffer anymore... which was like killing my own child the lady show no kind of empathy towards my feelings she was very rude and cold ...never have i had to experience anything like this from any other veterinarian's office ...I also had my baby cremated through pet angel which is through their office they on the other hand were amazing i would highly very highly recommend them to anyone ...

kelley Baker

I would never take my pet back to this place again. I left still not knowing why she could not swallow. There was no triage. And I literally watched a kitten die in his owner's arms. It was absolutely terrible! If you love your pet do not take them here!

Rexy Moto

My Great Dane got into a fight with her sister late this afternoon, poor girl was bleeding everywhere. Was really worried for how much blood there was that something major was bitten through. My dad and I brought her in, with blood all over us, we were not a pretty sight. The tech offered me a place to wash up and clean myself off. The staff was really awesome. From the phone call asking if they were open, the gentleman at the front desk, to the techs and the doctor and the phone call for us to come pick her up. I signed off on what they quoted me for whatever needed to be done for my Dane, just said I'll pay it. The doctor had me hold off payment until after she was treated, because she didn't want me paying for something she may or may not need to do. I paid below what was initially quoted. Which I was surprised, was expecting to pay twice as much coming in. My family and I are really pleased with everyone there from start to finish. I want to thank the staff tonight for taking care of my big girl. She's now resting comfortably at home all stitched up.

Abbygale Butler

It's been along time ago and just now able to do this since my cat passed away.everything they did for her and me years ago is never forgotten.

I never usually write reviews but I have witnessed the most awful customer service at this facility. In my opinion, based on what I have seen, they are only in this for the money! While me and my dog were waiting to be seen, a lady came in frantic with a young puppy (eyes not even open yet) stating the puppy sounds like she choking on something and isn't breathing right, and clearly you could see she was not exaggerating the puppy truly seemed to be choking and all the staff kept saying was that she had to pay the $85 and wait in line because there were people before her. UM WHAT?! This is clearly an EMERGENCY I don't mind waiting a few more minutes if it means saving that baby's life and secondly, why wasn't anyone in the staff jumping in to even look at her? Not ONE person in that staff seemed to be the least bit concerned. The poor lady had to frantically call another facility in the lobby and when she found someone to take her she sped out of the parking lot distraught because she didn't know if the baby would make it in time. Oh, and I heard the receptionist on the phone decline a customer because they couldn't couldn't afford $500 straight up for a blood transfusion and didn't even mention they had a payment plan WHICH WAS FRAMED ON HER DESK THAT THEY HAVE A PAYMENT PLAN and THEN she goes on telling them that they can just euthanize him instead so the animal doesn't "suffer". Why don't you recommend the pay plan or a different office?! She literally tried to use euthanasia as an alternative to get money, because that was the 3rd time I sat in that office and heard her recommend euthanasia to people and their animals when there were clearly other methods of treatment. I left before my girl even had a chance to see the vet. Do NOT waste your time if you value your pet. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone, in fact, I will make sure anyone I know steers clear of this awful facility. Why even be in this kind of business if your heart isn't in the best interest of the animal, but in the interest of the owner's wallet? I am absolutely disgusted.

Mayelin Lopez

GREAT emergency hospital! Caring and compassionate. Great and knowledgeable veterinary staff. Reasonable prices. Thanks for taking care of my Yorkie Chloe and going above and beyond to save her puppies as she went into labor and had one puppy stuck in the birth canal. Even though one puppy didnt make it, Dr. Courtney Brunson went above and beyond to save her litter. We have one happy fur mommy and 2 precious babies. I would highly recommend this Emergency Clinic as they truely care for our fur kids.

John Maruca

Our cat Misty passed away there last Tuesday. Marissa and the staff were very kind and helpful and were very supportive to us while we were there so we could spend our last minutes with Misty. They also sent 2 sympathy cards. Thank you.

Bayli Robinson

I wish I could give them zero stars. We’ve been there twice and both experiences were awful. I’ll drive to Tampa or Orlando before I go back to them.

Matthew Burnett

No vet present at the 24 hour clinic. Vet tech said the vet had a family emergency, which we can understand, but when another customer at the clinic in Winter Haven tells us that has happened to her twice, so she stopped trying to go there, something is wrong. Lakeland needs another 24 hour clinic, as this one is not reliable, don’t waste time going here.

Lindsey Keene

I would never recommend this office to anyone.. staff is so rude and they charge crazy prices to do nothing. We brought our dog here because he wouldn't eat or drink and was throwing up constantly and she charged us $450 to tell us it was a gastrointestinal infection and "if she trusted him a little better she would keep him over night". Once his antibiotic was gone but he still want bank to his normal self we took him to our regular vet an low and behold it wasn't a gastrointestinal infection at all..he had PARVO. So basically we paid $450 to not only have our dog treated badly but diagnose him incorrectly. Find another vet!

Angela Todd

Poor judgement on dog injury to the ear. Accused groomer of scissor cutting the ear when No scissors were ever in the groomers hand. Have video to prove this but insisted it was cut with scissors wow it even had other teeth marks by the open area

Tony White

Marilynn and Amanda took Norbie our cat there in a Emergency on Wednesday night late. The staff and vet was amazing! They took such good care of our baby girl. Even tho they were slammed with Emergency dogs coming in like crazy they never forgot us. They always made contact with us letting us know they hadn't forgotten us. I would highly recommend them my family and friends. Thanks again For everything. God Bless..

Caitlin Stevens

We have never experienced such great service from a vet clinic until we came here. Dr Lee Choset and the team that has helped us this past week have been wonderful! they have been so gentle with our cat Lucky, they comforted him and gave him the best treatment we could give. We came in late last night so lucky could be at ease and sleep with the angels. I wouldn't recommend another office to ever go to in the future. Thank you all for EVERYTHING! - Caitlin Stevens and Chase Lucas

This past Sunday at about 1215 am we arrived with our cat who was in a lot of pain. We thought maybe he had broke his leg but it ended up to be a totally different diagnosis.. We found out it was a blood clot that travels to the legs and is indeed very painful. The staff was so compassionate, and gave us as much time with our little Rascal as we needed, before we would say goodbye forever. Grateful they were there so Rascal didn't have to suffer all night since it was Sunday.

Pup has bad phenomena an werent any help help i dont loose my girl

Angela Lewis

Doctor Moses was great. They did lab work in 30 minutes while we waited. Diagnosis was accurate and price was extremely reasonable for a Saturday night emergency visit. Would not hesitate to use them again!

Mykel Lammert

They dont actually care about your animal, they literally only care about money. I called to get Information about my dog and they refused. Google has been a better help than them. Garbage facility

Spirit Wolf

They worked very hard to try and save our dear departed Clara Bear. They were very understanding to our feelings. And even let me stay with her for her final moments. They are my permanent emergency veterinarian.

Michael Anderson

I highly recommend these folks. As soon as I brought Yuki into the clinic, cradled in my arms they dropped everything and went right to work. They were prompt, professional, compassionate, and did what they could for us on the charges. No questions about filling out forms until Yuki was stabilized. They were amazing. Beware of Bufo Toads!

Valerie Thornton

Once they get your money you are dead to them. We called back with a question after we picked up our cat. They refused to answer one simple question. And they kept his brand new collar. Then our cat died a few weeks later from the bladder issue that they supposedly fixed for $1,600. I only gave them one star because giving them zero stars was not an option. We would not recommend them.

NANCY BIRCHFIELD

Our precious dog was "bumped" by an SUV. Our vet was closed and recommended Parkway. We took her over and got immediate attention. Thank the good Lord she is hurt but not catastrophically. The staff and the doctor were more than wonderful. God bless you all and thank you. Sandy & Nancy Birchfield (Brandi, too)

Courtney Ortiz

The staff did everything they could for my kitten, they helped us choose the right options and care plan for our baby until we were able to get them to a daytime vet the next day. I will always be thankful to them for everything they did, I was so stressed and worried about my kitten, and the office cat comforted me the whole time I was there :)

It’s taken me a few weeks to write this because I wanted to make sure I knew how I wanted to word everything. First, let me say Dr. Pratt, Jennifer, and all the other staff who helped were amazing. (I wish I could remember all their names but everyone I interacted with was fantastic) The next part might be TMI for some so sorry in advance. A month ago, I took in my 15 year old beagle, Baby, because she had been sick with vomiting and diarrhea. As soon as she started pooping and vomiting blood, I brought her into Parkway. Right away, I could tell Dr. Pratt understood the urgency of what was going on. After running some tests, I was told that her age made things difficult to diagnose. It could be something as simple as her getting into something she shouldn’t have or as severe as cancer. Especially since she had some stomach issues/discomfort over the past year or so already. Without running more tests and monitoring her, we just couldn’t know. (And unfortunately, I couldn’t afford anymore tests). I was sent home with a few different medications and told to give it the weekend and wait for an upswing. If she recovered, then great. If not, then we would pretty much have our answer that it was something worse. Sadly, that night, my dog pooped nothing but blood and had to be carried if she wanted to be moved anywhere. In the morning, she again pooped nothing but a puddle of blood in my kitchen. My wife and I knew the best thing for her would be euthanasia. She was in so much pain and had already lived a much longer life than she was expected to. So we drove back to Parkway. Dr. Pratt and Jennifer were so sweet and gentle with her. They made the process incredibly easy and did such a good job explaining to my wife and I what was happening the entire time and comforted us the whole way through. I knew I wanted to bury Baby in one of the best spots in our yard and Jennifer was kind enough to place her body in the perfect sized cardboard box/casket for us. The events of what happened sucked and were tough for us. But how the staff at Parkway navigated everything was incredible and it was so encouraging to know our dog was in such good hands. An emergency vet has to be one of the toughest jobs out there so I can’t commend them enough on what they do. Based on my experience, If your pet has an emergency going on and you’re unsure of where to take them, Parkway will do their best to take care of what’s going on.

Budder Man

My mom took my cat here due to a urinary blockage. After about 5 minutes of waiting in the lobby, we went back and waited about 5 more minutes so they could look at him. They took him back to put a catheter in him. They suggested we let him stay overnight, so we did. The final cost ended up being 800 dollars. We were not happy about the bill, but a while later, he had the symptoms of a blockage again. We werent gonna take him there again because that would mean another 800 dollars. We waited about 10 minutes and the symptoms went away. we checked on him every 10 minutes the rest of the night, he seemed to be fine. I do not suggest this emergency vet because they charge way too much. The wait time was OK, but there was only a few people waiting in the lobby at that time. if it was a really busy day, you probably would have waited about 15-60 minutes. But still, try another vet if you dont want to majorly overpay.
