Truly dedicated, hard-working vet & staff. As a cat breeder I have been to my share of veterinarians. I've dealt with a number of different specialist - opthalmologist, cardiologist, dermatologist, surgeons, etc... You'd think specialist would be the top of the tier of practitioners, but that is not always the case. I've received bad advice before, generally related to putting profits before the interest of their patient. Fortunately, Dr Brimacomb does represent the top tier. She is very busy, but has always gone out of her way to accommodate me & been financially considerate, every time. The epitome of integrity. I have great respect for her & her staff. Being a microbiologist that has worked in research & medical related fields, I do a fair bit of reading. Dr Brimacomb is open minded & offers the opportunity to learn more by offering access to published articles on her website. I highly recommend this practice.

I am not saying that I loved it, but I am saying that I would rate them with 5 stars out of 5 stars because of the way they handled our delicate situation. Our dog, ET, was 16 1/2 years old. We brought him in because he had not been walking, eating or drinking for four days. I mentioned to them that we were 99% certain that ET was at the end of his life. They listened well, were understanding of our predicament and talked very genuinely about this situation. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Dr. Barstow knows her stuff! She gets on the ground and spends time with our dogs. You can tell she genuinely likes the animals. I love her; she pets them, loves on them, and talks to them. She's great and I'm so glad she is at this vet hospital. We drive almost an hour to go there and wouldn't consider going elsewhere. She's the best. We're very lucky to have a Board Certified Theriogenologist in this area. I believe she is the only one. I could pick her brain for days. She's building a great, very efficient team around her. It's getting smoother and smoother since the reopening. Great job.

I would give this place a ZERO STARS if there is a option for it!!! The most unprofessional and unfriendly staff I have ever experienced and I am dealing with Vets for over 30years. I have been there on several occasions, cause I thought maybe if you become a regular they will treat you better, but no, not there. Their way of doing business is still in the stone age. Very rude doctor and staff, you will get a better service for your money anywhere else!!!

I recently had to make the ultimate decision for my oldest Mini Aussie, they were compassionate and comforting through the whole process including when I would call to speak with Dr. Barstow; never was a message taken, she got on the phone every time I called. I never hesitate sending my customers to Dr. Barstow and the staff at Highlands Pet Hospital.

Dr.Beverly Brimacomb is the vet who sees our dogs. She is very knowledgeable and has treated our dogs with the best of care over the years. The staff is pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants the best care for their pets.

Love this place.. The staff and Dr Barstow are the best.. We don't see Dr. Brimacomb very often but we love her too.. some say she is rude.. it is not that Dr Brimacomb is rude.. she is just very matter of fact and doesn't sugar coat things.. That's why I like her.. you will not find better bulldog experts in the area.. We take all our pets there bulldog or not.. they even were able to treat my Rabbit.. and the prices are lower than most so that's a plus.

They were great with my dog, very personal. I showed up with a very sick dog and they tried to be positive, but I could tell. He ended up not making the night. They called a couple days letter to see how he was. A few weeks later I received a caring card in the mail, make me sad again, but super thoughtful. Gains the business of my other pal.

I was employed by Dr B for a few months in 2007. I thank her because she gave me a chance when I did not have a lot of experience. I had just moved to the area from Palm Beach and was in desperate need of work. Her and her staff trained me and taught me the ropes. It was an amazing experience for me to be in the delivery room of the puppies. I saw a comment saying they were very rude. While I can not say that every day working there was a pleasant one, what I will say is that, they are as pleasant as they can be on some days. There are days where they are literally running on fumes, skipping lunch, trying to take care of our pets that we last minute called for an appointment for or just walked in with. They are very knowledgeable of the job, and if you don't wear your feelings on your shoulder, I promise you that your pet will get the best care there. Thank you again Dr. B for giving me a chance when I needed it the most. Also for taking care of my pets.

This is much nicer looking from inside than from the road. Lobby and exam rooms are impeccable. Dr. Barstow and the team we interacted with were great. Our pups were treated wonderfully, and all procedures were discussed in advance. Prices for procedures, vaccine, and meds was very reasonable. We felt very confident that this is a good choice for our dogs.

Dr. B is very knowledgable and truly is a bulldog expert!! My french bulldog would have lived with respiratory problems forever if I didn't go get a second opinion at Highland Pet Hospital. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will return for future bulldog need and would recommend Dr. B to other bulldog owners! I did have to wait to see the doctor and Dr. B is very honest and does not sugar coat the information. She was very helpful and gave very clear directions for surgery and post op care. I love my french bulldog and I would drive over an hour to go see Dr. B and her staff again.

Long before choosing Dr. B, I did my homework and even read the reviews. I would not go as far as to Dr. B or her staff "rude" but she is definitely a woman of few words. She tells you what you need to know and not what you want to hear and I can appreciate that! Her knowledge is immediately noticeable and her prices are beyond fair. I drive almost 2 hours one way in order to have my dogs seen by her. At first, I was surprised to hear that others chatting in the waiting room had driven further than I had... Now that we have been using her for a year, I see why.

I enjoyed at first working with dr. B. She is a great doc but I live hours away so getting a appt is difficult at best and when your there it’s for hours. My dog recently had a huge outbreak of hot spots and I tried to buy medicine for her comfort but the staff was rude and didn’t care really about my dog. I will not recommend this office because of the rude staff and they didn’t care to help my dog

I've given her info to clients when they needed help she has saved thousands of lives from bizarre out of nowhere diseases and illnesses. When all other vets would either lie and say it was something else to get more money or not even know what to do to begin with. Dr. B. Knows her stuff! She may not be a happy go lucky bubbly person but she's a mad scientist. A good one at that.

Tried making an appointment for puppy shots. We got a dog from a breeder that used them and they were not interested in new business. No time for my puppy. Oh well. There are plenty of Veterinarians around that want to take care of our baby.

There is no better place in the state to take your show dogs. Dr. Beverly knows the makeup of these dogs as well as what is best for them. We drive over an hour each way just to see her. It is worth the wait on a Saturday morning to get hips/elbows checked out or whatever we need. Highly recommended! The staff is great as well.

Would give zero stars if possible. This woman should have retired a very long long time ago. She is crusty, rude and bordering on mean at times. Unless you're a breeder that she can make big bucks off of, she loves breeders. Used her for years for my Flat Coated Retrievers. The last visit she entered the room and said "oh my God" and turned her back to me for a few minutes. Unbelievable. Rude staff to match her own personality. Would never give her a dime again. SWERVE.
