The vet and assistants were very efficient and the prices for some of the services are reasonable. The only reason I gave them three stars is because my husband had an argument with one of the assistants. We have quite a few cats and almost all of them are allergic to fleas and it causes huge sores and scabs as well as hair loss. We are on a limited budget I am on ssi benefits and my husband is a vet. We have two teenage kids to take care of as well as paying almost 200 dollars a month on cat food and litter. We try to take our worst cats to the vet whenever our money allows. The next day after the visit and heated telephone argument my husband had with the assistant, Polk county animal police came to our home. They said they came to investigate animal cruelty. We try to keep our cats in the home as much as we can and or nearest neighbor(we live in the country are good friends.They have dogs that come into our yard and our cats venture into their yard sometimes. There's no one else who could have called the police is Haines City vet hosp. I could be wrong.But then again I really might not be. At any rate we'll continue to us the vet and hope for the best.

My dog has been going to this vet for 7 years. The prices are reasonable but be prepared to deal with the staff. Not the most professional. Unfortunately when you call the office your placed on hold for hours. The veterinarian is good and thorough with her exam.

I took my Chihuahua for his shots.the male vet pulled up his skin and pushed completely through His skin onto the table. Coco was hurt . the vet explanation was he has thin skin . Thats is completely uncalled for He is not a good vet

Let's be clear that this is my dog's vet... Came in on a Saturday to an empty waiting room, an hour before they closed with an emergency and they denied service to us... Told the lady we had everything including blood work from the night before that we had been at an emergency clinic. Ask to talk to Dr. Martinez and she didn't even came out to the front desk and sent us back to an emergency clinic. NEVER AGAIN COMING TO THIS CLINIC, my dog almost died. And now I am in bedt $1,000.

I have always liked going to Haines City Pet Hospital, but they give you a appointments and then it's 45 minutes or an hour later or a longer before you get in. I have to work I can't not be taken in when it's time for my appointment. I can understand 20 minutes or so but not an hour or more waiting. The waiting room is ridiculously small for the business they're doing. They really need to expand. Everyone waiting was frustrated at having to wait so long.

Great low cost vet. Had to have unexpected surgery on my cat as well as a neuter, and price was very affordable. Only complaint was the front desk staff did not acknowledge my presence at the front desk for almost 15min. Otherwise great service from the vet themselves

Called in and requested prices for 3 year rabies and 3 year da2pp shots and was informed it would be roughly $36 without doctor checkup. So we decide to bring in our shih tzu and prices are now $55 for both. When i brought this discrepency up to the employees they told me "sorry new people". Will not come back and will not recommend.

Don't advertise you are open until 6 if the doors 5 minutes early. We arrived at 556 and the door was locked. We called and asked why the doors were locked if it's not 6. Was told it was 6 because doctors were gone for the day. We will not be back to deal with this kind of treatment.

Good prices, but facility smelled bad and was unclean, and the wait times are very long. After waiting about 45 minutes in a small, crowded room with several other pets and pet owners, we kindly told the front desk we were leaving. The guy behind the desk simply says, "Okay!" And went back to what he was doing. No questions of why we were leaving and/or how they could accommodate us. Overall, an uneasy experience, so we took our pup elsewhere. They may have great vets for great prices, but you have to get past a smelly, crowded, long wait before hand.

Because of their malpractice, he now struggles to eat hard food and has a permanent scars on his little nose. Went to the pet hospital because my dog had collapsed. They told me they were booked up and didn't think they could see my dog even though it was an emergency. I will never go there again. Was told to call my vet. I drove to a an hour and half to Orlando and my vet saw my dog within 5 minutes.

Showed up for a 2:30 PM appointment for a check-up and shorts. Waited and hour past appointment time to be placed in a room for another 1/2 hour for the vet to come and do the check up. The tech did not seem to know what she was doing and placed a muzzel on my 1 year old 10 pound toy poodle. The place looked really dirty and my instinks were telling me to leave after waiting 90 minutes past my appointment but stayed. The busy vet did not do a complete exam and shorts were not given in front of me. I was asked to leave my dog in another room after the exam for someone else to give the short. Without seeing him gat his short, I can not be sure he got them. The place is a complete zoo so would never come back

I really get annoyed when you have a appointment time and then they tell you you have a hour or 2 wait basically, we turned around and left and found a vet that actually uses a scheduling system that works

I am a big animal lover, studying to be a wildlife ecologist and have volunteered at the Humane society for 9 years. I will say I have a dog myself and use this place. He has warms and I can afford the medicine because of these people. I love it here and will recommend this place to anyone. It's cute sweet nice and affordable. When I found my dog as a stray I took him here to get him checked for a micro chip and fell in love with the staff here. They know their stuff. My only issue is the location. There's a few trailer parks and a major highway. But by cost for satisfaction I would say this is the place.

I use to be a former employee here, so I took my puppy here for an emergency. He went in and was hospitalized for almost 5 days. 2 days later I take him back to vet where they have to perform a surgery , Dr.Suarez made the estimate for everything and I signed it from my acknowledgment and considering i use to work here, there shouldn’t have been a charge to check on how his incisions were doing or removing the drains, from my understanding everything was included and if it wasn’t included they should have told us. After the surgery and taking him home they told me to take him in the next day & continue bringing him every 3 day to check on his drains, doctor martinez thought I was “undercharged” for the surgery . So to get her money’s worth she was charging us a doctors visit for removing his drains and to clean the area? Nobody told me this until they brought him out to me, and asked me to pay. They never told me I would be charged for it , they just did it. When my boyfriend tried speaking to her about it she refused to talk to him about it and the proceeded to tell the tech to tell him it’s because we were “undercharged” .. my only question it why she couldn’t come out and talk to us about the situation, she knew it was wrong and didn’t want to admit to it. How is one going to charge us an doctors office fee but the doctor refuse to talk to us? Overall the rest of the staff is nice but I won’t be recommending this place to nobody.

I took my cat here for emergency surgery to remove a blockage in his intestines. The staff doe not speak English well and has a hard time communicating with patients in a professional manner. I was told one thing from the doctor and other information from the staff when they called me to inform me of my cats progress. They offer over night stay for pets who have emergency surgery but have no overnight staff to care for these pets. The staff does not have any compassion for the patients or the pets. This was a horrible and disgusting experience i had and for $1650 that i paid very unacceptable. I would not recommend anyone to take their pets their for any surgery.

I’ve always had great experiences bringing my pets here. The prices are reasonable, the staff is patient and friendly, and my dogs and cats receive great treatment. When our dog was neutered, they gave us great information about the procedure and how to provide proper after care. I love that the vets aren’t pushy and don’t try to force unnecessary exams on you. My five pets will continue to be treated at Haines City Pet Hospital for all their care needs, and I highly recommend them to other pet owners as well.

This is the worst vet. My dog was extremely sick and they told me they wouldn't take him because they didn't have any openings he has been going to this vet since he was a puppy. They are always slow and never have there records straight. Some of the workers are very rude. Every you go for a visit they don't know why your there. And the place is gross.

Dr. Martinez and her staff have always been very good with our personal and rescue animals! All of our questions and concerns have always been addressed. We have used their services for several years now. Their prices are on the cheaper end, so the clinic itself is not as beautiful as others; but always clean. Their focus is on the animals and care, not the lobby chairs and landscaping. Due to lower pricing and location, they service a higher volume of clients. We have never had any issues with call hold times, or scheduling a work-in appointment for an urgent matter. Just be prepared, like any office, for a wait during busy holiday, Friday, and weekend times. We have been referred to other physicians or clinics when appropriate, but the doctors and staff have communicated their capabilities, allowing us to choose what can be done there, or supporting and referring to alternative care.

I believe Dr Martinez is a very good vet. Our Sammy has had a skin problem since last September, I was up north when I seen it was getting worse in November so I took Sammy to our old vet in Illinois. She prescribed an over the counter allergy meds.Came back to Florida saw Dr.Martinez, she gave him something else and antibiotics, still no change, another medicine and another antibiotics, no change, did urine, blood, scraping. Then finally checked blood for something else. Found Sammy has a bacteria, 3 different kinds on his skin, 2 are normal for dogs to have, but were out of control the third one he picked somewhere if dog has cut or something it enters the body. So lab checked to see what antibiotics would get rid of this, also gave special shampoo and spray every day. Finished antibiotics now I see him licking a little bit again. Have to check with doctor again. Dr.Martinez has studied many things and has worked hard to take care of Sammy. She and her staff are amazing. I like to bring them cookies from Sammy. I appreciate them very much.

I don’t understand how they stay in business, when I call no one answers or they Hng up or they just pick up and don’t say anything and I sit in silence for 5-10 minutes before they come on the line. I’m constantly told someone will follow up with me, someone will call me back. It never happens. Very unprofessional and with this much trouble just getting answers or an appointment I certainly won’t be taking my pets here.

If you live on a fixed income and value your pets life DO NOT GO TO HAINES CITY PET HOSPITAL!!! This so called vet Dr Martinez believes that if your are low or fixed income you should euthanize your pet if it gets sick! We came to her in a time of need and they promised they would help us promised they would do everything they could to save our cat! Then did the bear minimum watching him die in the cage no water, no iv, no oxygen! They did drain fluid from his lungs but needed more! Took him to an emergency er iv fluids, oxygen chamber and antibiotics for 9 days! Thanks to Blue pearl vet er We now have our baby boy home a little weak but eating walking a little don't want him to over exert himself! In the words of Dr Martinez I told you earlier you should euthanize your cat because you cant afford pets! What a caring vet!!!!!

I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to any loving pet owner! I brought my dog in for a simple cleaning of his teeth and he came home with four extracted tooth WITHOUT MY CONSENT! During the consultation I was repeatedly insured that no teeth will be extracted without calling me and getting my consent, THAT NEVER HAPPENED! They did not take ownership of there negligence or lack of communication and instead they came at me like they did me a favor. They handled the situation very unprofessional.

Not cheap, two puppies here costed me double what I paid at lake alfred. Knowledgeable, however the place was extremely dirty. The vet wasn't very thorough with the exam, I've gone to tons of other vets for my dogs through out the years, and the vet himself didn't do a full hands on job, missed a few things that even though they were minor, should of been noted. It looks more like you are going to surrender your pet vs a vet. I've seen waffle houses in better shape.

We have been to this location twice. The price is great, but be aware you will be waiting a long time for the vet to see your pet. They are always busy. A 20 minute appointment took 2 hours of waiting, with an appointment. The vets are nice, and seem to be knowledgeable. But I wish they wouldn't schedule so many appointments without having the space or time to take care of them. Edited 10/21: We brought my Black Lab/Dalmation mix here over a month ago for them to test a lump hanging off his side. They sent the labs out and never called me with the results (whether it was cancerous). So today, I bring him back in for a monthly allergy shot, and asked for his results. They informed me that they had the wrong number on file. Understandable. I asked if I could get the results while we were there. They printed off the results and the vet tech handed them to me. I asked what the results meant and if he was okay, or if he would need surgery. She told me she couldn't answer those questions, and there was no way to tell me whether or not he was alright. We also brought my smaller Beagle in for a nail trim today. They refused to trim her nails without muzzling her. Even though the last time we brought her in she didn't need a muzzle, and has never snapped on anyone or anything. She's also up to date on every shot (she received them there). Today was my first time I have been here, I am looking for a new vet and think I may have found one. The staff were all so nice and Dr. Martinez was wonderful. You could tell she really cared about my dog. It is not a fancy place, but I would highly recommend.

I had to surrender my pup because I didn’t have the money for treatment for parvo. I called 3 times to get an update to see if she was making it. The last person I spoke to basically told me very rudely that she was no longer my problem and she couldn’t give any more updates. My puppy had her parvo shot and still contracted the virus. I only surrendered her to save her. I loved her so much. If I could’ve saved her myself I would’ve. Upon dropping her off I was told there was no issue with me calling them to checkup on her. I was absolutely heartbroken when told not to call anymore. Surrendering her was my last resort. To save her life. Now I’ll never have anyway of knowing if she made it. The lady was rude and frankly heartless.
