Thrilled to have discovered Essentials! So convenient! Knowledgeable Veterinarians who respect owner's wishes, do thorough examination, provide "essential " basic services at a very affordable price. Have been here several times with different pets and always have had excellent experience. Clean, large space, short wait times for walk ins- and online preregistration is a great option!- this is most definitely a user friendly basic care veterinary facility. NOT FOR SICK ANIMALS, SO PLEASE FOLKS , do become informed by reading their mission statement and policy prior to your WALK IN, to avoid misunderstanding and possibly a review that is not accurate. ( for those who read reviews, please consider the writer's vantage point. Anyone who takes a sick animal here probably did not educate themselves in advance. ) Clearly, this is not a " full service" practice. It is an alternative for reponsible pet owners with limited budgets to obtain excellent basic " essential"care for their beloved companions. Compared to other veterinary offices, they rate Top Notch in my book. With over 50 years "in dogs", all aspects, it was my good fortune to find Essentials nearby. Wish there were more of them for my dog friends to have their own Essentials. Thank you for offering such a great alternative. Not to forget mentioning the support staff: every person who works here is professional, well informed, and eager to provide excellent service. Cannot overstate how grateful I am to have Essentials nearby. Thank you!

I had a great experience here. I've brought two of my dogs so far. Such a friendly staff, they were so sweet to both me and my dogs, I could tell my dogs were comfortable there. One of my dogs is an utter drama queen and started whimpering and crying like a baby when he realized he was getting shots- they handled him really well and he came trotting back in the room afterwards like nothing happened (lol). Really appreciate their patience and kindness.

I adopted what I thought was a sick dog from the shelter and they said I needed to seek vet care within 72 hours. I brought miss ruby here the day I got her to find out all she had was allergies and needed some antibiotics, the vet was amazing. I took her home and the next day returned because she wasn’t eating the same vet who seen us previously brought us in talked to us about the reasons why and what to watch for and DIDN’T charge us for another visit because he said he’d rather see a worried pet mom than someone who doesn’t care. I have never had a bad visit here everyone is exceptionally friendly.

They are awesome. I didnt have to wait long at all. They checked my dog out from head to toe and they provide care, shots blood work at a very reasonable cost. The blood work alone was worth the travel as it would have been much more costly at my regular vet. Nice, friendly staff !!!

I would give them a zero but obviously it's not possible. I took my dog here because of a cough & after almost 3 hours of being there waiting one of the techs comes out saying you have to leave we can't treat your dog while the receptionist or tech at the front desk heard him coughing several times before & didn't say anything. Worst experience ever.. Not only it was done to me but to another man with a cat that was there also way before me!!! I left fuming because it they would have told me from the first cough I wouldn't have wasted my time plus have gotten somewhere else much sooner...

Their hours allowed me to take my dog at a convenient time and not miss work. From the time I walked in my dog was excited and high strung. They were very patient and professional during the whole visit. They answered all my questions. They gave Bella an exam , her shots and skin check. Always an awesome and friendly staff. The vets are attemptive and I never feel rushed. My fur babies always get treated with love, kindness and treated for all their needs. Walk-ins or appts are an option. 7 day a week service with great hours are a plus. Essential Pet Care is a wonderful service with affordable prices. Having four dogs makes it fiesable for me to keep my pets UTD on vax, heartworm, flea prevention as well as unexpected ailments. I highly recommend this company for your pet needs. Horrible. Not only did the new receptionist not know how to input vaccinations. But now I'm trying to fill the prescriptions they have me for heart worm and flea medications and I'm being told they don't verify by phone fax or email. AND .., at the time I took my two pets for vaccines. They would only give 6 month presctprescri because i did not have proof they had been on heartworm and flea preventatives.!!!!???? WHAT ?? TOTAL BS !

After having several bad experiences at PAWS, I decided to give this place a try. It is ALWAYS clean, floors are always mopped, ( unlike paws where the scent of urine hits you in the face as soon as you walk in), the staff is always informative and friendly, they have some of the best prices, and best of all they are not out to get your money like most vet offices. I have been going here for a little over a year now and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. These guys are awesome!

Great Place! Great Price! The wait wasn't to bad. The vet was great ad so was the staff. They had a great bedside with our puppy and the waiting lobby area is got plenty of room for the pet and owner to be comfy ad socialize with other pets or the room to go be alone if you wish. The price was unbeatable! First set of shot, puppy exam and all my questions answered for less than 35 dollars!

This place is great for exactly what they are there for. Meaning shots or minor ailments, where I know what the issue is, like an ear infection. This is not a vet for diagnosing an unknown issue. They save me a few bucks and make is easy being open on weekends.

The first time I took my puppy here (Friday after work) they were extremely fast. Got us in and out the door in less than an hour. I made the unfortunate mistake of bringing my puppy back for follow up shots on a Saturday. It took 3 1/2 hours just to be seen. Let me make this clear, 3 1/2 HOURS JUST TO BE SEEN!!! I was given the excuse that it is a walk in clinic and they are busy. That excuse doesnt fly!! In the first 45 minutes we were there all 3 exam rooms were full. We sat around talking with other pet owners. Every one there for something routine. 4 hours later when we finally got out of there, we took the prescription we were given to the Wal-Mart pharmacy. When we got there, it was closed till 2. Really?? No one there to even accept a prescription to be picked up later. Needless to say, I did not have a pleasant experience. I gave my review 3 stars because off the pleasant experience I had the first time and because there was a young female tech who was extremely nice to my family and my puppy. If at all possible, avoid the place like the plague on the weekend!

After writing my first review about my disappointment in the visit, I got a call from someone in the office who had seen my review. They then (a day after they told me they were giving him his rabies shot and antibiotics) explained that he hadn’t been given the rabies shot because of the antibiotics, which is completely understandable, but never explained to me. She then continued to ask me to either edit or delete my review; so here’s my edited version. I was confused as to how they had such high ratings until having one of their employees call me and ask to change the review.

Essential Pet is as good as people say! They offer very good pricing and packages. The convenience of not having to make an appointment is a bonus in my opinion. The facility is clean and well maintained. The staff is always helpful and accommodating. They display patience with the animals, and with the owners. They are ready to answer questions politely. The email reminders are so helpful. I really can't find any cons with Essential Pet! I will continue to use their services for my pet, and I will continue recommending them confidently!

His nails were out of control and I was embarrassed but I felt so at ease and no judgment. I’m sure this place does what they can how ever while I was away over seas my parents were watching my dogs. They brought them into pet essentials, my youngest dog was experiencing irritation to his ear. Once seen by the “vet” they said it was fleas. When I returned home I noticed that my dog was still experiencing the same irritation I took them to a different vet who said it was an infection not caused by fleas. Bottom line I will not ever bring my dogs or allow anyone I know to bring there pets here.

Went there back in September and I just received a post card in the mail stating I needed to go and register for my pets rabies vaccine! No where did they state when I went to get her vaccinated that it would be an additional fee for tags nor did they state that they do not issue tags with vaccination unless requests now I have to drive to go prove that my dog was vaccinated on top of back tracking to find the spray records from like 5 years ago to prove she was spayed! On top of paying an additional 30$ for tags! For less money and receive tags I pay half of there prices! NEVER GOING BACK! PET LUV ALL THE WAY! AT LEAST I KNOW THEY CARE!

If I could give them negative stars I would have. The last time I was in this place a man blatantly ignored the sign on the door and brought his 5-10 lbs dog in without a leash and it ran up to my dog and started harassing her and when I asked him to keep his dog away from mine and pointed out the leash policy he scoffed, got up in my face, cursed at me in front of a room full of people and threatened to sue me if my dog touched his dog. After him screaming at me for well over two minutes the staff finally decided to intervene and gave him a leash instead of asking him to leave wherein he continued to curse me out to his friend as if I wasn't in the room. Now I don't blame the business for the man's dispicable behavior and that's why I chose to come back which was clearly a mistake. After taking time off work to get there in sufficent time (a full hour before they closed) we spent half an hour with the receptionist constantly going back to ask questions for them to tell us that they can't take our dogs because they didn't have any paperwork on file even though we had taken all 4 of our dogs there for nearly a year. When I showed them copies of records with thier letter head, they proceeded to tell me that there wasn't enough time. Then they told me they also couldn't take my sister and I because we had three dogs in total and their policy is two dogs per person per visit. So clearly not only could someone not do math and when I pointed out that we are under that limit and that we didn't need to be in one room nor one bill she told me that still wasn't allowed. Which is an absolute lie because the previous times that we were there they took us in two rooms and for whatever reason (I think because they were overcrowded and greedy) they combined our two rooms the last time we were there putting us at a total of 3 dogs in one room on one bill. AND to top it all off, when I told the veterinarian this, she told me that I was lying and that they may have made exceptions for me in the past (which I fail to see any since they chose to combine us the last time) but I couldn't continue to come there looking for handouts and treated me like I was some sort of scumbag. Then she proceeded to blame me for them not being able to take in two other dogs that came in 20 minutes after I had gotten there when they told the other family right in front of us that they weren't able to take thier two dogs because 40 minutes was not enough time to make sure that thier dogs didn't have reactions to the vaccinations. I have never been so insulted in my life and I fully regret having given this place any of my business. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you have a ridiculous amount of time on your hands to get nothing done and you're willing to be insulted and lied to.

The convenience and prices are great. We spent a lot of time waiting to be seen. There was only one puppy there before us so the wait times seemed excessive. It took over an hour to get my dogs shots. I wasn't happy about having to track down the surgical report to prove my male dog was neutered considering the vet should be able to tell or verify that he no longer has his parts in order to get his rabies tag. The application for the license clearly says that a veterinarian's invoice IS proof so having to track down the surgerical report was unnecessary. Hopefully next time we will get to experience what most of the other reviewers experienced.

Despite all of the bad reviews, I wanted to give this place a try because they had low prices. I was very pleased with the convenience of being able to walk in, and not have any surprise charges like with a normal vet. When you are on a budget and want to have proper care for your pets, this is a great option! Both of my dogs were treated with respect and we were out in a timely manner. Before you visit Essentials PetCare READ the website about what they do! It is not fair to them when you take in a sick pet for something that they don't even treat. If you would research first, you would understand that some illnesses (and all emergencies) need to be treated at a full service vet. I brought my dog in for her vaccines. My pup is very anxious and the atmosphere at the busy low-cost vet in town is way too chaotic for her, so I love the large waiting room at Essentials PetCare. It is clean, bright, calm and spread out so she is not intimidated by other pets and owners. I also like knowing I can walk in 7 days a week without having to worry about where a mobile shot vet might be parked for one hour a month. The prices can't be beat, and the doctor and vet tech were both extremely professional and kind and gentle with my dog. I loved the convenience of being able to purchase my county license right there. I will 100% be back for further vaccines. Thanks for a great experience!

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with my dogs! I took they in Feb. to have all their shots and heartworm tests done. I was told by them that ! could pick up their medications at Walmart when I was done.When they were doing the heartworm test they asked me if I wanted it for six months or a year and I said 1 YEAR!!! When I was done I asked them how much the sentinel was in Walmart.They then said that Walmart does not sell it and told me to go to the SPCA on congress! I went to the SPCA on congress and after waiting for over 30 minutes in line was told that they do not sell it there! I then took the info to Tarpon Animal. Hospital. Tarpon Animal hospital informed me that they had written it for six months! I filled the script and called Essentials and they said they made a mistake and sent me a email with a new date for the dogs to have their heartworm. I moved up north now and am trying to get heartworm for my dogs. I have been trying for over a week now calling them every day and having the people I am trying to purchase it from call them. The owner said that they would approve it on Wed and have the company call them back again for the third time. They called them back and again they are not approving it! This has been a terrible experience!

I come here all the time to get my dog his shots so you think they would know what shots he needs considering they email all the time saying he is behind on shots. But they had no clue when we came in and asked what he needs. I sent my son in with the dog. He had no clue what the dog needs. I know they have computers and have the dogs on file so what's going on .You guys should be helping me not making it a bigger hassle

One of the easiest experiences with a vet! Super simple check-in, the tech at the front was very sweet and helped me get set up without an issue. They were all super nice to my kitty, the vet went above and beyond what was needed by giving me a brief of her physical and asking questions about her general health (we were just there for a rabies vaccine) and I got all the paperwork I needed without hassle. Dr. Gintert is a very nice and knowledgeable doctor. My most recent stop in was to pick up my boys' urinary food and to see if I could have a quick chat about my one cat marking in our new house. She took the time outside of a normal exam to listen and offer her advice which was helpful and I believe we may have finally worked through the issue. My first visit with my previously semi-feral cat almost ruined my view of this office, back when there was an older male vet there (I don't think he even offered his name). I'm a vet tech myself and I made sure to make the rather young asst/tech aware of the state of my extremely nervous cat who was there to get a Comfortis script, and a rabies by default, and offered to help if they had issues with her. Needless to say they didn't take my warning seriously and the poor tech got bit, my cat didn't get her rabies, but they at least still wrote the needed script. I'm glad to find that things have improved since then and I'm confident that I can bring my pets in for their non-emergency needs at very reasonable prices. Other people have noted long wait times, though in my few visits, I haven't had any issues with that. You have to expect with a walk-in clinic that there could be such waits at times, but a good office will do what they can to minimize them.

I was very impressed with this place. I got vaccinations and the vet checked my cat for $68.00. My regular vet would have charged $200.00 for this visit which is why I had to price shop. The vet and techs were pleasant and helpful. I went there on Thursday about 11:30 and there was no wait. I will definitely return with my other cat next week. Although the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, you're not gonna see me back there. Came in to get an upper respiratory infection checked on, they did the blood test (my cats had blood taken before and is always surprisingly calm) but all I could hear was him screaming from the other room. Before leaving I was told they had given him a rabies shot (which I not only wanted but was told was required), and then was never given a rabies certificate or tag, and the receipt says it wasnt given.

I was impressed from the moment I walked through the door. This place is clean! The waiting room is spacious and peaceful. The techs were great with the animals and the owners. One of my dogs has a known reactions to vaccines. They pre-treated her and monitored her until we both felt safe for us to leave. I got the 3-year vaccine for my dog. And they turned me into Pasco Animal Control for not purchasing a tag even though I have the paperwork for the vaccine. Now I have 30 days to comply and get a tag, or $130 fine. On their behalf they said it wasn't their fault they had to do it

Definitely a more affordable route. Do not expect to get in immediately or even after you get in a room to be seen right away. I've waited 3+ hrs one time from start to finish. But still quality Vets and great staff. I only wish they could take appointments. Hours are great. I also wish you could fax the rx's to the place you want it filled ie: pet rx websites. But price and hours and friendly staff keep me going back.

I took my dog in 1 week ago to get her shots and have her ears checked, because she was scratching them. Paid for her "ear care package" that was supposed to include a follow up visit. Went back today for that prepaid follow up and was told by receptionist that there would be diagnostic charges before even seeing the vet! Very shady practices. My dog won't be back. Update: 8/25/19 I specifically asked about the follow up visit before purchasing the package and was told it was included. I don't care what the "owner" says in response. I was there with the employee at the time of the discussion, the "owner" was not. My review stands; 1 star.

I was completely lied to by the staff there, and corporate emailed me completely contradicting what I was initially told. And when I emailed corporate about this location selling expired food, they completely ignored me. Check the dates before you buy anything. They also took my dog into the back to weigh her and I heard her cry louder than I ever heard before, I dont know what they did back there but I know it wasn't just placing her on a scale.

Affordable, packaged services for routine care and minor issues. They don't do surgeries or dispense medication (they'll give you prescriptions which you can get filled at the attached Walmart), makes vet care a little more affordable.

Very nice people. Decent low price service for pets but have had a bit of difficulty with prescriptions. One we got filled but didn't seem to work so went back in and they told us the medicine they had prescribed was faulty and we could get a different one for free. Went to get the new free prescription and was told since we had not come back to a follow up visit we couldn't get the prescription. The second prescription we couldn't get filled at Walmart or two other pharmacies, tried to get in online but had to get approval only to be told by Walmart they wouldn't give the permission needed and finally told us we could fill it online through them. Could have saved a lot of time if they had just told us that from the beginning.
