We met Dr. Ali on an emergency visit with our cat Gilligan when our vet failed to return several of our emergency calls. A google search found Dr. Ali was opened until 10:00. We called and was told to bring him in immediately. Once we were there we were amazed with Dr. Ali and his staff. Their level of service and caring for our cat was above and beyond anything we ever expected. Dr. Ali was extremely knowledgeable and shared his knowledge throughout every step so that we were informed and understood what our cat was going through. Our cat Gilligan and us as well are so thankful for Dr. Ali and his friendly staff for being such wonderful people. Keep up the good work! I would recommend them they are A+++++++ give them a visit, you won't be disappointed. '

We went here for years and recently (in May of this year) when we could tell one of our dogs (the oldest one) was basically ready to pass on and the one thing me and my family didn’t want was our oldest dog passing on at home so one day we basically went down to get for pet and talked to the Dr.Ali about putting her down mind you she couldn’t walk and she would barley eat anymore and one of the assistances (I have to say all the assistances were very very nice people) but he actually had to come to our car pick her up out of the car cause she was that bad. And we brought her in and he said and I quote “she has so much life in her” so he gave us some type of “miracle” treatment and the next week we came in for her second treatment (it didn’t do much but we wanted with us cause it was to hard to let her go) so he was saying this by then end of her second treatment I’m guessing and he says “old dog young again” or something along that line and we left feeling like she was gonna be with us at least until the end may but that weekend on mother’s day I found her dead in our kitchen. So my mom went in on that Tuesday to tell him what happened and he told her after she told him that our dog died at home he said “I’m not god” and “get out” repeatedly. Don’t bring your beloved pet here but I will still say the assistances were such nice people and that was probably the only pro to go there.

If it was possible to give more than five stars, I would! We took our dog for her annual vaccinations at Petco on Saturday. Dr Ali was pretty upset with the growth in her mouth. He told us to call his office and make an appointment the same night and he would do a complete examination. We made the appointment, the examination went well and the growth was removed from her mouth. Sometimes it just takes someone who cares to make a dog and their family right again.

Dr. Ali treated our cat Princess who was not eating and had difficulty and urinating everywhere. Dr. Ali took her in right away and ran a battery of tests using his state-of-the-art equipment and found multiple stones, which he fixed surgically and found other problems that he put her on medications for. Within days, she was back to normal and has been a happy camper ever since. We have found Dr. Ali and his staff to be caring and very competent. We wouldn’t go anywhere else. Check them out if you very need vet care.

I'm thankful for Dr. Ali and his assistant who took great care of my dog whose rotting teeth were causing a sinus infection and ulcers on her gums. The decision to have her teeth removed was scary, but Dr. Ali promised that my dog would eat like normal after healing and her personality would be restored. The procedure was done immediately (after traditional business hours), did not require an overnight stay and significantly less expensive than other clinics. A month post-op, my dog is healthy, cheerful, lively and eating kibble as if she had teeth. I can't imagine having gone anywhere else!

Dr Ali and Nancy are amazing with the animals! Having had pets my whole life and now running an animal rescue, I can tell you I've been to a lot of vets. These 2 are the best. My first visit, I brought in 8 kittens and a dog. I don't say much my first visit to any vet, I just watch to see how they are. These two went over each animal with a fine tooth comb. They were gentle, kind and very knowledgeable. They didn't try to talk me into anything that was not necessary for them, which I've seen all too often. Dr Ali, while looking at a kitten, noticed the dog was peeing too much. He suggested testing the urine for a UTI which he did have. He also saw some things on the kittens that we were told to keep an eye on. Since that day, I've brought many animals in. Several of them were near death. One that stands out, was Molly. She's a shih tzu who was throwing up and not eating. Dr Ali assessed her, kept her overnight and found she had closed pyometra. He did emergency surgery and saved her life. Then there was Lylah, who had cancer and is now thriving. The list goes on. He even came out to see 7 dogs we had taken in! Being in rescue, we deal with many animals. A lot of them have huge issues. I fully trust Vet For Pet to handle all of their needs and highly recommend them. I gave 5 stars but would give 10 if I could :) Thank you both for all you do!

We took our sons service dog( akasha) who is like a family member for diagnosis test to figure out what was causing her to poop blood for 3 days..we were beyond worried...our son is autistic and relays on akasha for so much - he loves this dog, they've been best friends for 5 years! So you can imagine the incredible pressure and stress to get her better...the staff was friendly and attentive. Dr.ali was kind and understanding.we thought our dog might have a blockage and may need surgery..after a exray and blood work we were relieved to see there was no blockage.the Dr kept examining her until he seemed to find another reason for her behavior...he grabbed some medicine and slowly fed it to her..he said we must try something else, after, he sent us home with medicine..the very next day we were amazed to see akasha up with her tail wagging! After almost 4 days of her not moving, pooping blood...i must say thank you to Dr.Ali and nancy , steven and (one more woman whos name i did not get.) You all were incredibly kind and helpful! Thank you so much for being affordable also! I must of called 20 different vets whos prices were astronomical! Yous were the perfect choice! We will ALWAYS come back to yous for any of our pet needs!

My friends pup had a plastic drawer fall over on him. He had labored breathing, blood coming out of his mouth and his eyes were already layed back. As soon as we fot there the staff and the doctor were so dilligent in taking action!! After xrays and pain meds and a few follow ups later the pup is alive and happier than ever!! Also to add the prices were reasonable for all the imaging and meds supplied. I’ve brought my cat to see this same doctor in the past as well for yearly check ups and you can tell he genuinely cares for these fur babies of ours!! I would recomend him hands down!!

If I could I would give them more stars. I have gotten my chihuahua spayed there which the hours work with my work schedule. They made me and my daughter comfortable leaving our puppy there to get spayed. I was even happier that the vet even took time to speak to me about how it went.

My two Mini Holland Lop bunnies Stella and Bella were very well cared for by Dr.Ali. They both needed spayed and the surgery and post care recover went wonderfully! The entire staff was pleasant and was available if we had any questions! The hours of Vet for Pet are ideal since they are in the evenings. If I could give less than one star I would. I recently met Dr. Ahmad N. Ali, DVM, MS, PhD at a VETCO clinic inside Petco. I took my two rescue dogs to get their shots. Dr. Ali refused to give our older rescue dog any shots, he listened to his lungs for about a second said this dog is very sick with a respiratory issue and because of this would not give him his rabies vaccine or take blood to test for heart worm because the dog was "too sick" and it would be a waste. He acted like he was to afraid to even touch our dog. We tried to explain that he was a rescue but he did not want to hear anything we had to say, told us he needed 1000.00 dental surgery that he would do for 550.00. We left heartbroken, took him to our vet who gave him his shots and diagnosed him with kennel cough. I don't understand how a vet can treat animals and people with no compassion.

My dog needed immediate treatment for a cyst that was protruding through her skin. I had called many Vet offices no one could see her. Until I called Vet for Pet. They took care of the problem which included immediate surgery. They cared for us with friendliness, compassion,and professionalism. It was a very late night. I was very impressed to see how quick and well my Golden has improved his back leg movements through the Lazor Technology treatments he receives at the Vet for Pet Clinic. This technology is so good. I had an excellent experience with Dr. Ahmad. I have a chocolate lab who is 12 yrs old. Gus had a large wart on his eyelid, 2 on his nozzle and one in his ear. He also had 2 fatty tumors on his testicles. Dr Ahmad removed everything in one surgery. Gus had no problems and was back to normal within a few days. I would highly recommend Dr Ahmad at Vet for Pet in East Hartford.

My family was so fortunate to find Dr. Ali and Nancy while on a trip to Hartford. Our dog ate a grape, which we learned can be extremely toxic and needed immediate medical attention. Vet to Pet was the only vet nearby that was open (it was a Sunday evening), and they took us right away. Dr. Ali made sure to update me throughout the whole process and was successful in quelling my fears while I sat in the waiting room. You can tell that he genuinely cares about his patients; he even looked at a report from our vet back home regarding our dog’s EKG, since it was looking abnormal. As we had a 6 hour flight scheduled for early the next morning to return home, he adjusted his treatment plan to suit our schedule. He recommended seeing a vet when we got home to check that our dog didn’t have any delayed reactions to the grape, and gave me his cell phone number to keep him updated. He responded immediately when I texted him, and despite getting positive news from the vet, it wasn’t until we heard Dr. Ali’s opinion that we fully felt relieved about the situation. It was refreshing to have a vet be so invested in his patients and their owners - we are so thankful and wish he was in our city!!

Very positive experience. Dr. Ali and his staff are very caring and knowledgeable. I brought my cat in on an emergency visit for roundworm and general check-up. They took their time to examine him and I felt confident in the diagnoses of his ailments and satisfied with the treatments. Pricing is fair and average. My cat is doing much better now, he is frisky and back to hunting and chasing inanimate objects on the floor. I would recommend this dr. and come back here again.

They have always put my pets health above all else. I have been taking my dog Goose to Dr Ali for the past 18 months. Recently she needed a surgery to remove a growth on her gland. They worked with me on the price to make it more affordable. We went into the appointment thinking the worst, but she has made a full recovery and then some. She is 12 but acts like a puppy again. We also recently adopted a cat, and she has received the same great treatment as Goose. I cannot recommend Vet for Pet any higher. The staff is alway friendly and great with the animals.

I love this place is amazing. My dog was experiencing an allergic reaction, and had ear infection. Dr. Ali noticed the severeness of the ear infection and flushed her ears to make sure he got the gunk out. His medical assistant is awesome as well. They are so nice. They also made sure I was able to afford anything else my dog needed if not they would try to work with me in regards of other alternatives to fix the problem. They are reasonable with prices and are very caring. Understanding my curcumstances he makes sure the dog is taken care of one way or another you will come out with meds for the issue at hand. He wont let your dog go without anything. He loves animals and thinks analytical of all situations. They dont judge you but simply try to understand your financial circumstances by common sense. They are awesome. My dog has healed in 4 days her ears are back to normal, not stinky, and her food was changed and she is no longer experiencing the itchiness. He also made sure that problem was taken care of before giving her shots which was a great move. He is not in this for the money but simply for your pets. We all have to understand the facility or medicines cant pay for themselves. However he will work with you and be the greatest doctor he can be. You will not regret him as a doctor be loyal to him and he will make sure you and your dog are healthy as can be. No matter what he will do this regardless. Just keep him updated. Thank you Doctor Ali and his Assistant as well.

We brought our little dog in on an Emergency visit for what seemed a sinus infection. Dr and staff were so wonderful and discovered she had a slow heart beat and low thyroid. This was life changing for her as her regular vet kept saying she was tired because she was old. Well our little girl is up and running and playing again like a puppy at the age of 14. All changes saved Our dachshund had begun vomiting and having bloody diarrhea all of a sudden in the early evening. We scrambled to find a vet that was open- Dr. Ali's evening hours were perfect and they were able to see him immediately. Dr. Ali came out while we were filling out paperwork to address the emergency and saw that our boy was nauseous and began preliminary treatment to make him comfortable. After we entered the exam room, Dr. Ali immediately found a way to bond with our dog to help him with his anxiety. His assistant's questions were comprehensive and empathetic. Dr. Ali's follow-up was knowledgeable and they kept him overnight due to dehydration caused by hemorrhagic gastro-enteritis. They stayed late for him and kept us posted. We were able to get him the next day after he was feeling better and had x-rays. They took the time to explain the condition, and medications by referring to veterinary resources and reassured us that his condition was being taken care of. We are very grateful for Dr. Ali, his prices are very reasonable, especially for treating an emergency case for a dog he had never seen before.

I give Vet for Pet my highest recommendation! when i came home on Saturday evening i noticed my dog had a limp; after searching the web i found Vet for Pet was the ONLY vet open on Sundays (besides the emergency vet which was going to be a fortune). Dr. Ali and the two assistants were incredibly helpful, compassionate and educated. They made sure to tell me the cost of everything step by step. I have gone to many vets in the past that take advantage of a scared dog mom and do all the tests without checking the cost with me first. This guy was a complete crock. Went in there for a second opinion to get an ultrasound of the bladder for my Golden Retriever because her regular vet thought she might have ulcers or kidney stones... you see how I mention the word kidney stones once right? This "doctor" wen on and on about kidney stones as if he memorized the entire wiki page on it, i kept try to intrrrupt him but he kept going on how he went to school for that for humans etc. And that his PROFESSIONAL opinion she didn't need an ultra sound of her kidneys, I legit had to interrupt him and tell him to forget the words kidney, that the other veterinarian said BLADDER. He backtracks and tells us he's %100 sure he know what it is and that if he's wrong... and then this is when he pauses and my parent steps in asking a qn because he felt bad for him probably. One of the nurses takes him out of the room and I ask the assistant still with us if he's wrong then what- the doctor pops his head in because he heard me from the other side of the door and says he's never wrong... guess what ladies and gentlemen, after only just doing an x-ray he pulls us into a room and talks for half an hour about how it wasn't what he thought it was, bladder stonew...are you kidding me? And he only does this come to find out when I see the bill because they charge a fee to go over the exam... Then the vet proceeds to tell us she needs a heavy regement of antibiotics that he prescribed for her... guess what? Didn't work, SHOCKER. Still blood in her urin. I called the office and told him that he was two for two and he tells me to keep doing the antibiotics, and mentioned kidney again..!!! but why if he didnt even know what is wrong with her?! The least he could have done was still give her her ultrasound OF THE BLADDER and the tab on them. Now I'm stuck with paying for both exams, one that I didn't even ask for when I originally made the appointment. Please if you decide to come here for the prices don't let him bully you into what he wants to do, stick with your original gut! because according to other posts in this review you will end up regretting it and will either be paying double in the end or for the price of your animals life. Another thing that made me laugh was when he asked me how I knew my dog was peeing and not pooping... this guy clearly has no pets of his own, I should have walked out then. The only console I can take away from this is that somehow the money I paid for that bogus appointment is that it went to the animals, the downside is that it still supports the business as a whole.

Dr. Ali and staff work very hard, they always will take you in for emergencies. My cat was saved here, I’ve have major surgeries done on the feral cats that I have brought in also. My dogs are also regularly routined here for vaccines. Also you can hang out with FrankleBob and Bella while waiting (the vet cats).

I took my 6 week old puppy to Dr. Ali after he sustained a head/neck injury and I couldn't be more pleased with him and his assistants! They are all very professional and you can truly see that they all care deeply about every animal that comes through their doors. Dr. Ali called to check on my pup and his assistants took my puppy home with them to ensure that he was receiving proper care! I wouldn't recommend them for ANYTHING!! Took our 7 month old kitten there upon a recommendation from someone. Within 12 hours she went from normal to non-responsive. The vet checked her with his stethoscope and her ears and that was it. I asked if he knew what was wrong and would she be ok....he said yes. I saw her stressing breathing and said maybe we should talk about ending her suffering. He said no, you need to do x-rays and blood work to make an informed decision. Now I know, she had every classic sign of FIP and, yes, she SHOULD have been put down. Instead he wanted $509 to do all these tests and we lost our baby a few hours later. I blame him for the suffering that she experienced and I am FURIOUS that he charged me $89 for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! I have been told that any vet WOULD HAVE SEEN THE SIGNS OF FIP!!!!! Instead, he wanted $509. I am sick about this and will carry this guilt with me forever!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ali & his team. My dog had been feeling lethargic for a couple of days. I brought her in for a routine checkup. She had a high fever & was admitted that evening. I had no idea how bad she was really doing. Various tests were performed where it was determined she was suffering from a significant illness. During her 5-stay there I was given status updates including pictures. When I visited her, Dr. Ali went over in thorough detail about her condition & test results. He saved her life while delivering incredible service. They stayed very late @ night to keep an eye on her condition even after they were closed. They were very fair about the costs, very fair. A 5-night stay @ an animal hospital plus all the medications and tests would be astronomical @ most animal hospitals. I’ve gotten vet bills where I was charged $5 for cleaning up fecal matter. I cannot recommend Vet for Pet more. I live an hour away & the trip is worth it.

I just want to say that Dr. Ali and Nancy are the most knowledgeable and nice people that I know..My sister Gloria bought her dog(Sasha) in and she thought she needed to put her to sleep.. But after Dr.Ali examined Sasha he told my sister that Sasha had diabetes and with medication Sasha would do better. He saw lots of life in her still. I had become very unhappy with my veterinarian. I had a sick cat and I dreaded bringing him in. I happen to be driving by and I saw the sign on the building . When I read the clinic hours are 5pm to 10pm seven days per week, I was elated. No more waiting a week for one of the few after-work appointments, and no more high fee for bringing my pet in later in the day. I have never known of a vet who works on Sundays. What's most important is the doctor and his staff. Within minutes, I knew Dr. Ali truly loves animals. It's not just a business to him. The technicians (Nancy and Nicole) are topnotch and as caring as the doctor. The office isn't "fancy," but the equipment is modern and new looking. Nancy told me they haven't needed to advertise due to people telling their friends and family about the Vet for Pet Animal Clinic. I am not surprised! After exhausting the diagnostic procedures, I knew I had to let my boy go. It's always hard to lose your pet, but because Dr. Ali was thorough, I felt confident that euthanasia was the best for my pet; my poor cat was suffering. I spent 30 minutes alone in an examining room, so I could comfort him and say "good bye." The doctor and Nicole were very kind and gentle. I am definitely switching all my pets to this clinic. The care is outstanding; the location is convenient, and the hours cater to working people. The clinic's fees are very reasonable, too. I highly recommend the Vet for Pet Animal Clinic.

My Chihuahua mix had a back injury. My Dog was in pain for two weeks, and couldn't hardly walk. I had taken her to two different Vet clinics in six days, and they couldn't find what was wrong with her. Five times I had to take her back home in pain. The medications they gave her helped a little but didn't solve the problem. I called Dr. Ali and got an appointment for the next day. Dr. Ali recommended Laser therapy with anti-inflammatory medication. This is a new treatment for pain. After only one Laser treatment. The next day she started walking without pain as if nothing had happened. We thank Dr. Ali. From the bottom of our hearts for helping our Dog Coco. My Dog is happy again. Dr. Ali and his staff really care about our Dog well-being. The prices are very reasonable compare to other clinics. I recommend Dr. Ali Without any reservations. I found a new vet clinic for Coco. Vet for pets!

Had the unfortunate experience of meeting so called Dr. Ahmad N. Ali at Vetco who gives vaccines at the Petco pet shop in Manchester CT. He shows up at 3:10 pm when the clinic starts at 3 pm. That right there tells me a lot about him. He signs his name stating he gave my cat shots and a physical exam. When I call him at his practice about getting my cat some medication he says he needs to give my cat ANOTHER exam for $90. He says that what happened at Vetco 10 days ago has nothing to do with him. They are separate entities. But yet he signed his name from them and has office staff that work for them. He was very rude in conversation on phone hanging up after telling me to go somewhere else. In my opinion he just wants to take people for money on exams, x-rays, and stuff that is not needed instead of treating animals with medications. When a doctor says "go some where else" tells me he cannot handle his job. If you don't want to spend extra money then do not see this so called Dr. He has no compassion, care, or understanding of animals in my opinion. He is just out for money and if you don't want to spend it he says "Go elsewhere and hangs up the phone"!!! What on Earth kind of so called Dr. is this. Vetco has been informed of the treatment I received by this uncaring individual. His license should be revoked in my opinion. Animal lovers should be appalled...

This was my first time here and my Darla needed to be fixed and she had never lost her baby teeth so she had 2 rows on top and 2 in the bottom. So those baby teeth had to be pulled. All my local vets were soo expensive I couldn’t afford to take her. She was in pain too because her mouth was so irritated. Dr Ali was so nice and explained everything to me and the cost was less then half of what the vets wanted. Also Nancy was very kind and friendly. Can’t forget about the 2 loveable cats who kept us company while we waited lol. We drove a hr to get here and definitely worth the drive. Thanks again for helping Darla!! She says thanks so much! We found ourselves a new vet who cares about their animals.

All my pets were taken care of Vet for Pet. Dr Ali helped my Pug Randy when he had an eye infection and they cleaned his teeth and now he is a happy pup! Highly recommend to all pet owners.
