I brought my cat here and they went on and on about needing medication for Feline Heart Worm disease, which is Extremely RARE in cats and common in dogs. My male cat , after much expensive testing was diagnosed with feline lower urinary tract disease after they suggested i only feed him DRY FOOD. I learned that male cats often get feline urinary tract disease and i should have been advised to feed him wet food. They want your money and they are well aware that males commonly get this disease but they make no mention of it because there is no medication they can sell you to prevent it. Not warning me against it , telling me to feed him only dry food was my cats downfall to this painful and often deadly disease! DO NOT GO HERE!

I would personally like to thank the staff for seeing my black lab Sky today 3/2/19 without hesitation. She had been playing in the snow and grabbed a stick to play with and a piece broke off in between her gums and teeth. I called in a panic and they told me to come right in. I arrived and they took her straight back to a room and removed the stick no questions asked. Thank you so very much for taking care of my baby girl. You all ROCK!

Despite frequent turnover of doctors, I am beyond pleased with the care from VCA. They've accommodated our furbabies in emergencies and with routine appointments. They share care amongst each other so the entire team is aware of the patients condition and treatment. I have adopted, raised and lost pets and VCA has been there through it all. This place is very expensive. I received a quote to get my dog's teeth clean for $1300 which included two teeth extraction. I went to Banfield Hospital instead and got her teeth done for $500 which included two teeth extraction. Be careful and do your research, you don't have to spend that kind of money to get you dogs teeth clean.

Dr. Aaron is the best! Not only is she so knowledgeable, she is warm and caring! I had to put my cat to sleep due to a health condition. Not only did she give me her number but she called every few days to check on me. It took almost 9 months to return for my dogs checkup, he had flea allergy. She didn’t lecture about my 2 missed appointments, she asked how I was and congratulated me on my return cause the first appointment back is the toughest. Thank you Dr. Aaron!

This vet is the BEST .My dog was diagnoised with diabetes about a year ago, altho the 1st vet i picked did save her from dying, i was crazy, he told me absolutly nothing sent me home w/ a dog with diabetes told me i couldn"t home test her so she had seizures, put her on wght management food( altho she wasnt overweight). I really thought it would be better if she died .Then i switched to vca i know how to test her so i am not crazy wondering she has done a whole turn around and so have i. They are kind and understanding. First time i have actually relaxed since my dog has been sick. Seriously. If your dog is not well or just needs a check up this is the place!

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. My mother took our dog Homer to this veterinarian, and it has so far costed her $900 and all she's gotten is a tube of ointment the size of a penny. I was being very friendly with the staff there and laughing, and all around being 'chipper'... Not one of them smiled, they were VERY RUDE. Not one smile from any person there, including the veterinarian herself. She was VERY impatient with Homer when he didn't understand to sit still on the scale. It was all around uncomfortable, a complete waste of money and our dog STILL HAS HIS MAJOR INFECTION IN HIS EYES, EARS, NOSE AND RASH ON HIS STOMACH. Maybe she wants us to come back a 3rd time so that she'll make $1400. Um how about NO. Plus she was about 30 years old, not judging her age, but I'm 26 and I think I could've cured his infections better than her without the veterinarian degree. I SUGGEST AN OLDER VETERINARIAN, WHO IS *EXPERIENCED* and therefore can save you A LOT OF MONEY by only having to take your pet to them one time. Plus they already have made money. So they are not TRYING TO PAY BACK THEIR STUDENT LOANS *cough cough*

VCA misdiagnosed my dog a few months back which caused a devastating outcome. He started to have seizures and eventually slip into a coma and died of a heart attack. I would never recommend this place to anyone all they want is money for treatment plans. I have no problem with paying for treatment plans for the love of God but at least try to save a pet instead of guessing what the illness could be. My dog died of lyme disease which I found out at the end from another vet hospital after another violent seizure. VCA were convinced my beloved baby had GI infection and prescribed him things he didn't even need like steroids and Metro and expensive can dog food. I will never be the same after the loss of my 8 yr baby. He was my world and way to young to die. I been so depressed behind all of this its become a challenge to just try to focus with my everyday tasks. I finally got up the energy to write this review.

First off, my cat is one of the hardest cats to handle at the vet. As soon as anyone other than me or my boyfriend touches her, she'll go into what I call "death mode". That being said, we've had bad experiences with other vets that have tried to pin her down in uncomfortable positions, some even hurting her. Dr. Mosel and Melissa (the technician) were unbelievable kind and patient with our cat. They knew going into it that we've had trouble before, and instead of trying to rush through the process of everything, they took their time and let our cat explore the room, smell each of them, and eat a ton of treats. When our cat began to become overwhelmed, they stopped and let her eat some treats and cool off before trying to do the next thing. By far one of the best vets I've ever met. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone in the area.

My neighbor took her bunny to cut her nails. They charge her $35 and the nails looked exactly and I mean exactly the same. Is like they didn't even touch them

My dog weighed less 4lb between 2 days when no changes on her diet. Vet didn't respond my request to clarify what "a huskey frequently need pee" is meant but suggested to test urine when the dog only goes three times a day.

The VCA Animal Hospital in Waterford is not bad, even though its part of a sterile chain. The office staff are okay. Not overly friendly, helpful or willing to work with you unless you force the issue. The waiting room is a little cold. Prices are high. Antibiotics for my dog cost $85.00 alone! I have him on an annual package, which is about $40.00 a month, and it covers the basics- shots, tests, checkups. My last two vists in this past month alone totalled over $500.00 ABOVE the services covered. What makes this place stand out is the vetenarian staff, both the vet techs and the vets. They are all highly qualified, kind and compassionate young women!! I like each and every one. They LOVE the animals,; you can tell. They are thorough and professional, but very warm and hands on. They always kiss Riley, and get on the floor with him. I feel he is really cared for and in good hands. Can't beat that!

Good veterinary office. Friendly and informative staff. If there is something they do not know they are happy to find out. Vet is great with animals, confident, caring also informative. Facility is clean. They are a bit pricey, I have found quite a few of their services provided for cheaper elsewhere.

Edit: changing the review after I spoke with Heidi and got a better understanding. evne after the experience. edit: 2, so far the medication that you guys gave me for tidtid is working, when I brought her in. her belly was as big as a balloon it seemed. I just checked her while I gave her medicine, and its a tiny little bump! She'll be getting spayed soon too!

As a new pet owner to 2 kittens, they walked me through the process of pet ownership while being endearing and caring for Mercy and Sable. During Mercys exam, being a kitten who doesnt like being touched they worked with her and took an immediate liking to her. When I brought Sable in (now Romeo), I figured I had another female kitten. Not only did they take a closer look at the kitten because it was the runt and had what looked like small scarring but they informed me that Sable was actually a boy. A caring installation, with amazing staff. A place I would recommend to anyone. This place and these people are top notch.

(A while back...) Thanks to New London Animal Hospital...at 4 pm we noticed an open wound in our cat from an unknown source, and after two vet places in Norwich didn't have any availability (well...one did, but not last minute for non-clients), New London Animal Hospital squeezed an appointment in even though we weren't prior clients and they stopped appointments in general at 5 pm. They said if we were concerned, they'd find a time. So thanks for the help.

I have always had great experiences here. They are so good with my puppy, loving l, caring and very knowledgeable. When I had to put my last dog down which was a very difficult event, they were absolutely amazing. They respected our last moments with our Bailey girl, and even went way beyond taking her foot and making ink foot prints for our kids so that they would have a keepsake.

They are amazing! The team is kind, understanding and courteous. The doctors are spectacular, hands down the best. They take the time to educate, and come up with a plan that works best for you and your pet. The facility is clean and organized. Customer service is amazing, they pay attention to the details, from their welcome board to fallow up calls on pets to see how they are doing. Plus they do boarding! I would recommend VCA to anyone!
