The staff is always courteous & helpful and there for you. Dr. Meenan is the best ever! From chiropractic care to puppy health check up, they are always knowledgeable and available. My husband has shown up on their doorstep a couple of times at 7:00 am with a dog & they've taken him right away.

Outstanding clinical care... Dr. Schutts has been taking care of both of our dogs for several years now and more recently, findings on a "routine" trip to RAH warranted an emergency transfer to Cornell here in Stamford but the steps taken beforehand combined with the communication from RAH to Cornell quite literally saved our dog's life. As a local doc, I am always so picky with education standards and "who knows who" but ask anyone around, this is the place to go. Evidence-based practice combined with amazing practitioners and staff. Excellent!!

I would take my pets there any day. The staff are wonderful and are very funny! I live in vermont and was visiting friends when my dog got into some mouse poison. They took my dog in right away and saved her. Meanwhile the staff kept me calm during the ordeal. Thanks everyone!!

They are the most wonderful, caring compassionate and spectacular vet. Dr. Lazarus is beyond a brilliant surgeon and veterinarian, Dr. Meenan and Dr Shutts are incredible vets and helping their clients and patients develop life saving strategies and then carrying them out. The entire staff is incredible, caring, and compassionate- as a rescue I am in there a lot and honestly we drive over an hour to get to them and I would NEVER think of going anywhere else. All our local adopters seem to be transitioning to the am are so grateful to us for our recommendation. If that was not enough, their pricing for equivalent vetting service compared to others is amazing, and since the always seem to offer options on approaches to dealing the medical needs of the dogs your can rest assured that you will truly have the best service and best price by the most amazing and caring people. Truly not enough good words to say about this practice. We truly were blessed the day we found them!!!

Questionable Care and Extremely Expensive. I found out when I had to euthanize my dog, Bailey due to cancer that the vet was unaware that she had been operated on for cancer 7 years ago at their office. I thought that while they were treating her over the years that her entire medical history was being considered. It was not. I wonder if the recent cancer could have been prevented or caught at an earlier stage. Also in the middle of the visit for the euthanasia I was informed that the cost would be $525.00. Most vets in this area charge $230.00 for the same service. At that point my family was so distraught I could not stop the procedure. I feel like I was taken advantage of at the same time I was losing my pet.

Wow where to start with this place: Our 8 year old cat ingested thread and was diagnosed (after thousands of dollars of vet fees elsewhere) with a bowel obstruction. The other vet hospital in Stamford, although very nice and professional, wanted an insane amount for surgery. I loved my cat but there was no way we could swing that and I told them the same. After about 20 minutes, they referred us Rippowam, whom agreed to do the surgery for 1/5th of the amount the original quote, and to see her right away. Keep in mind we were not VIPs or existing clients of any kind. When we brought our kitty to them, they could not have been nicer, more reassuring and concerned about us and equally for our cat. We left her for surgery. We got a call that afternoon that the internal damage was much worse than suspected and that the most humane thing would be not to wake our kitty up from surgery. The doctor first called my wife who said she would call me, but the doctor insisted on calling me directly instead, obviously recognizing how upset my wife was, which was so above and beyond. When my wife came the next day to pick up our cat-carrier, the entire staff expressed genuine sadness at the outcome of the surgery. They took care of the cremation without a mention of any fee, gave us paw print impressions of our kitty that they had taken (which I'm sure is normally an up-sell product) and the truly unbelievable conclusion: refunded 1/4th of our fee, recognizing the financial hardship we were facing on top of the emotional distress. If you remember back to the beginning of this story, the clinic was obviously performing this surgery at cost (and possibly at a loss) to begin with. I can't begin to express how grateful we are for this clinic, the staff and the doctors. If you are reading reviews because you are even remotely hesitant about using their services, stop now and give them a call, trust me.
