Toby Kimm has been my vet for 15 years now. I would not leave him for anything. We have been through everything together. I lost my first dog to cancer after 9 years. She had many health problems and he was there for us. My current dog is 6 and very healthy. I actually miss seeing him more than once a year for check-ups. Dr. Kimm is a great vet that cares about his patients and their families.

Dr. Kimm and Dr. Dupre are excellent with pets. They explain everything thoroughly and take the time to look at your pet and answer any questions you have and discuss treatments (if necessary). I usually see Dr. Kimm and I feel that he is very honest when it comes to the necessity for tests; he’s not out to make a buck by telling you that a bunch of tests need to be performed on a healthy animal every year. I asked him to check my four year old dog’s teeth this time because I noticed tartar buildup and he said I could get the teeth cleaned, but it isn’t necessary and it’s really not as bad as it looks (dog teeth don’t need to be pearly white). I like that Dr Kimm wears normal clothes, maybe it’s not as intimidating to the animals :) The only complaint I would have is that every time I go it’s a long wait (40 min+ with an appointment), even the woman who was paying while I was in the waiting room mentioned to the receptionist that she waited over 30 minutes and that her dog gets anxious. I trust Dr. Kimm and Dr Dupre with taking care of my pet and I would recommend Ragged Mountain to anyone in the area.

I've been bringing my dog that I rescued here since I got her almost 3 years ago. She had trust issues, was very iffy when being handled and shortly after - went blind. I would never take her to any other vet. Dr. Kimm is AMAZING as is the entire staff! They have shown me and my dog nothing but patience and kindness since she went blind and through all her other issues. The advice & assistance they have provided me with has been invaluable. Their prices are great, they are honest and caring and you know from the minute you meet them that these are people who are in it strictly for their love of animals. If I moved out of state it would not stop me from bringing my dog to plainville to see her vet. They are just that wonderful.

As a new patient at Ragged Mountain; we were ecstatic to see all the great reviews & prime location. Our initial check up for our pet went well and we were pleased by the quality of work the doctors & few tech's gave us. Unfortunately upon returning a few months later the staff member was less than pleasant. Upon entrance Elizabeth (Liz) had a unwelcoming disposition. No smile & her body language said it all. That set the tone of my entire experience. I gave her the needed information and upon me asking a question her response was very 'cheeky'. When I responded with the same witty demeanor; that's when her tone & typing shifted. Liz began typing aggressive, hitting each key in frustration. From that point I was even more turned off. I 100% understand working with the public has it's highs & lows; but working in a place where your clients put their money & trust into helping a member of your furry family; I'd expect any staff member to have a little more poise when dealing with patients. I am now skeptical about how my pet will be treated upon my next visit since Liz was visibly disturbed/short tempered by our conversation? I hope that our next visit won't be our last.

Being a Veterinary Nurse for over 20 years I have worked with a lot of veterinarians including Dr. Kimm many many years ago. He is still a very caring veterinarian who doesn't seem to have the burnout many veterinary doctors seem to get. He still seems extremely passionate about the field and expanding his knowledge. He is an extremely skilled veterinarian whom I trust with my furry family members.

Very nice staff. Dr. Kim is the coolest doctor I Know. He is not the type to overcharge you and do a bad job because he has tee off at 2:30. Dr Kim loves what he does and there is no way that he has ever stepped foot on a golf course in his life. Golf is a stupid hobby and Dr. Kim is just too cool for it, he probably spends his spare time helping homeless animals. That is the type of doctor that you are getting and that is the only type of doctor that I would trust to be examining my dog.

If you adopt a dog and receive a voucher, take your dog elsewhere as this vet takes advantage of you! Stay mindful of what they’re charging you also as they were less than honest. First and last time for sure. The only concern they had was running up a bill for nonsense that I didn’t need & I was unable to receive antibiotics for an infection my dog has (which was clearly evident) The vet’s exam consisted of 2 shots in less than 3 minutes after waiting an hour. (Not a soul was there) They simply do not care about the animals and I would never recommend such unprofessional treatment.

I have known dr. Kim, the primary vet, since 1989. And he was an excellent that then and is even more excellent now. The entire staff is thorough, professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic. They grow attached to your animals and get to know them as a pet not just as a patient and when the time comes that an animal needs to be put down the staff will cry right along with you because they care that much. I dread thinking that dr. Kim will retire one day but there are other younger staff that used to be technicians that are also excellent so I have no worries my pet will be always treated by someone excellent there

I went to this veterinary hospital for a low-income spay/neuter clinic they were doing, so I had no prior experience with this vet. I'll preface this review by saying that I used to work as a vet tech in an animal shelter so we did a lot of low-income spays and I've worked them behind the scenes. Some are great. Others are very rushed with some unsettling though harmless protocols. I love my kitten so I was wary, but when you're low-income you don't have many options. What I saw was completely different than I expected. Very clean and professional, kind staff who obviously care about the animals, and I have some experience looking at surgical incisions and can recognize a rushed or sub par job, her's is clean, neat, and shows skill on the part of the veterinarian. So this vet spayed my cat under the assumption that she would likely not return to his office (though I certainly think I'll be switching now!), without having seen me personally, and not expecting me to have any knowledge of veterinary medicine. He could have done a crap job; safely assuming I wouldn't know the difference anyway and he didn't. The care, compassion, and skill are evident and knowing they treat animals so well when the owner isn't looking says more than any review could.

I have taken my dogs to see both Dr. Kimm and Dr. Dupre for years. They are amazing. The doctors are knowledgable and compassionate. The staff is always prompt and very caring with animals. They never try to up charge you and will always work with you to find an affordable option for care. I went through some very trying times with treatment for my dog at the end of his life and the doctors and staff really went above and beyond. They are responsive to phone and email as well. I really can't recommend them highly enough.

i am not sure how I can review this place at all, I had a really rotten conversation at 9:04 this am with who ever answered the phone, I had called to ask to have my cat muskey looked at and the person who I was talking to asked me what was wrong with him, and I told the person that it is not a him it was a her, this person started to give me a lot of noise about a pervious pet that I had brought that they had said they had to write off, what had happened back then was that I had to have dr kim put my cat smokey down because he had a tumor that was cancerous and to do surgery could be done, but there was a chance of the cancer coming back. so I had to make the hard decision to put him down, and doc kim said to me that day, pay what you can now, and I told who was ever at the desk what he had told me at the time, because on that day I was so upset over the loss of my cat, I wasn't thinking to clear that day. but when I had called today to try and get muskey in to be looked at, this person was trying to speed talk me and over talk me with all of this, oh there will be a cost of 40 dollars for a distemper and rabies shot, and there is a fee for blood work if any has to be done, and I told this person look slow down and I also told this person that I am not an atm and further more I have to wait to at least the first of next month when I get my disability check so that I can get her looked at. I am hoping that by the grace of god that nothing goes wrong with muskey between now and Friday. but from what I see putting profits before health care, is a pretty sad way to run a business in my opinion. and besides I do not cheat anyone out of anything if I owe someone something I do make sure they do get there money. I do like dr kim I has taken goo care of my animals. but the people that work out front answering the phone really need to work on there people skills and learn how to talk to people on the phone as well
