We've been bringing our pets here for about 5 years and always have an excellent experience, from making the appointment, to the veterinary care to follow-up. They were very helpful at the end of our dog Milo's life. Another important thing to us is that they don't pull the "upsell and guilt trip" trick that we've found with other vets - where the vet suggests an expensive test that might catch something, and then makes you feel like a cad for not opting for it. They don't do that here and have actually said, "we can do such-and-such test, but I don't think we're going to find it's that and it's expensive". I really do appreciated this reasonable approach.

They wanted to bring my dog in the back to administer the vaccine alone. I requested that they allow me to be present and they obliged. They were able to fit me in last minute for a vaccination I needed for boarding my pet. Overall I've been satisfied with their service.

I have 3 ferrets and see the exotic animals vet about 1x per year. He and the staff are great in that they are thorough and explain everything in a way that I can understand. I've never had pets before, so they have helped me a lot in becoming a good ferret mom. They always get very excited whenever I bring the ferrets in. I've never had a bad experience here and recommend this place for exotic pets.

I have been taking my cats to Dr. McLaughlin for over 10 years now. They have always made appointment setting easy and have gone above and beyond with our visits to the office. Recently I had to euthanize my 18 yo cat and although we knew she had cancer, it wasn't until a late Friday afternoon I knew it was time. I called and they immediately saw us. Here it was a late Friday afternoon, their closing time, and they stayed to be sure my little girl was no longer in pain. It was completely peaceful for her, and I will be forever grateful to their wonderful staff. Furthermore, Dr. McLaughlin was off that day and Dr. Stecker stepped in and was amazing. Vet Techs Mollie and Blake are the best. Honestly I could not feel more thankful and thought everyone who may be looking for a vet should know they are not only good but they care.

Took my dog for a simple rabies update shot. They wanted to do a "physical" on her for $85. I asked why? They said that they do it for all dogs that come in to make sure they're healthy. I said no thanks...just the shot. So I go in for the first appointment of the day, and they put me in an exam room where we waited for a half hour. I scheduled the shot early so I could get to work on time. It was just supposed to be an "in and out" thing. Nope. A group of what looked like interns or trainee's along with the vet took the dog into an exam room for the shot, and while I was waiting, I asked for the bill. They proceeded to bill me for the "exam"! Once I saw that, I said nope, I'm taking the dog, and went and got her. I figured they didn't have her long enough to do anything, so since I still needed the rabies injection, I called another vet to do it. She got my dogs records and discovered that they had done the injection. I then received a bill from Norwalk that charged me for both the injection and the "exam". I think its entirely unprofessional to tack on a charge for something that I didn't ask for, need, or authorize.

I have never had a vet that cares for animals the way that Norwalk Animal Hospital does. They go above and beyond. They really care not only for their animal patients but also the owners. The location is beautiful and modern, yet comfortable and clean. The doctors are truly amazing with how much they care, and help you understand everything thats going on. The front staff as well as all the vet techs are super friendly. I will go to them for as long as I own a pet!! Doc M (as i like to call him) is friendly, super knowledgeable, and pretty funny too!! There need to be more nice people like them on this earth.

When I go to a veterinarian clinic I want to have a good professional. How often they laugh it is not important and how kind they are depend about their education. To me a veterinarian has to be a professional and in this case I can not say they are. I come from Spain with my dog, which has his own passport where there is a record about his vaccination since he was 3 months old. He was absolutely healthy but I wanted to put him the lyme disease vaccination (which does not have because in Spain we don´t have this disease) and I wanted to ask to the vet for a brown spot that recently appeared on one of his eye. They told me that they have to make him an exam comprehensive physical at the beginning and they did. It was 83$, and you have to believe me that you don´t need to study a degree to do that exam and to say "yes, the dog is healthy". He put the lyme vaccine but they did not want to put the stamp of this vaccine on the dog´s passport because they used it for their records…They just gave me a paper wich said that the dog was vaccinated…but that kind of paper doesn´t work on the bordes!! Hey!!I paid for the vaccine and they did not want to give me the stamp!! (in fact they did not give me) The worst was that he did not see the brown spot on his eye (imagine how good was the exam) but I showed him and asked about it. He did not give too much importance but he did a proof to make sure that it was not a ulceration on his cornea (good!! something well done!!). He sold me a medication for the eye but after the treatment the brown spot continues and besides he has some white new spots...so, I went again to the vet for a follow up and he only took a look of the eye..and he told me that I did not know what was that and I had to go to a specialist for the eyes. And do you know what? The cost of the exam follow up was 64$!! Just to tell me that he did not know what is wrong with the eye!! Unbelievable!!! Sincerely, I can't understand why someone study a veterinarian degree to use it just to do that. To sum up, the place is good, the people is always laughing, they are very kind and the vet looks very professional but that is only imagen. To me they are thieves that dress up like vets.

Just have to tell you how great Norwalk Animal Hospital is .. the staff are awesome they really care . They are always smiling and very helpful . Real person answers the phone and they know us . Feels like family the Doctors/Veterans are so warm and check up on us personally again giving us that warm feeling . We have no problems and Maisy(our dog!) love going their . We board her their all the time and it's great know a loving group of people are watching are dog .

I was their client for 4 years until I was tired of unreasonable fees. They charged double on extra antibiotics, full physical exam beyond an ear exam on ear infection, and half physical exam on follow-up visits. In my last visit, I spent almost $300 on an ear infection with NO take home medication/treatment. A month later, the ear infection came back on the same ear. I never care much on the cost as I want my dog to get the best treatment as he can, but I felt like I was overcharged by them.

Norwalk Animal Hopsital was the only vet who would make time to see our 12 year old french bulldog for an urgent appointment on a Saturday afternoon. They were professional and courteous and took the time to follow up with us after a small mix up with her records. They made sure everything was corrected and that we had everything we needed going forward. They are highly professional and seem to genuinely care about their patients.

A few years ago they misdiagnosed our 1 year old cat and had us do a $9500 surgery which they assured us would fix problem. It ended up being FIP (which they never even mentioned being a possibility) and our cat died in just a few days. We continued to go here and never had any issues until today. We came home to our elderly dog, who has had several medical issues the last few years, bleeding all over our house from his mouth and nose. They told us there was no way they had even 5 min to see if our dog had a serious problem, and we could go elsewhere if we had to. Then they said if we wanted to put him down they could "squeeze us in." We we're shocked by this and immediately called another vet (broad river animal hospital) and they saw us right away. They were able to get our dogs record and see him within 45 min. They were extremely friendly and honestly, seemed more knowledable. I would never recommend norwalk animal hospital to anyone. When you go to a vet, you trust them with the life of your animal and they honestly seemed to really not care about our situation at all.

The staff’s bedside manner is beyond terrific and makes our pup extremely comfortable. I can’t say enough good things about the quality of their facility and staff. We plan on moving out of Norwalk in the near future but will not be switching to a more locationally friendly vet.

I do not have enough words to describe how grateful we are to Dr. Harlan McLaughlin, Dr. Greg Stecker and the rest of the staff at the Norwalk Animal Hospital. Dr. McLaughlin is the greatest veterinarian I have had the pleasure to meet; he treated our beloved cat Lolita for renal issues, and continues to be our Vet for our Tomasa. Dr. McLaughlin was not only sweet and kind to Lolita, but helped us thru all the difficult moments of her disease. He always took the time to explain in detail Lolita’s condition, treatment options and logical next steps, all with a compassionate attitude and the utmost kindness. I could always count on a call back from Dr. McLaughlin when he had promised one. We have recently lost our Lolita, and there were no better people to have by our side than the staff at the Norwalk Animal Hospital; Anna, Kiki, Sandra, Dr. McLaughlin were there thru it all, gave us the strength to deal with this terrible disease, and helped us say good bye.

I didn't like them very much. New to the area, I thought the website was attractive and the lady at the front desk was very nice. I didn't like the younger male vet at all. I took my dog in for his updated rabies shot. All vets up until this point (10 years) will give the shot in front of you while you stand there, but this young man told me he had to take my dog in the back room for a shot. Then, I overheard him saying to the tech that he gave him Papilloma virus. What? I thought I must be crazy to hear that, but I confronted the lady at the desk who gave me the deer-in-the-headlights look. No vet is going to purposely give my dog warts, I thought. Lo an behold my dog started to get warts. Where never before he had them. Now, one can argue that I'm crazy and he is just "getting old" or one can argue that I actually heard this new young vet give my dog Papillomavirus. Now he has at least three large warts, one in an irritating spot. I get that young vets might have bills and be surprised how high the student loan payments are compared to the actual salary of a veternarian, nevermind the crazy cost of living in this area, but You can't simply induce disease in an animal then expect that pet owner to go back to the same vet. Now, I have to go through the whole hassle again of getting to know a vet, transferring my vet records over, and seeking out someone who truly loves caring for animals, and doesn't think that entitles them to an expensive car or vacations.

The staff and Dr. McClaughlin are always responsive and caring. I have used NAH for over 11 years with two different dogs. Both dogs have always been treated attentively with respect and care. My 2 1/2 yr old daughter loves going to the vet with us. The staff collectively makes her feel just as special as the dog at these visits! I couldn't ask for more than that!

We just recently started to take our dog Casper and cat Oreo to Norwalk Animal Hospital. Since I have always owned dogs and/or cats, I am no stranger to vetenarians. I must say that this animal hospital is by far the very best! The staff is extremely caring, friendly and warm and the vetenarians are fantastic. I brought my cat Oreo to Dr. Strecker last year and he was terrific! Oreo was also seen by Dr. McLaughlin another time and again, he received such fantastic care and down to earth treatment. I then brought my dog Casper to Dr. McLaughlin and I must say he is the best there is! He is so kind, honest and knowledgable and will work with you and not pooh pooh your ideas. My dog was very sick and he always made time to see him and did whatever he could to get him better even though it was against the odds. He never pushed expensive and useless treatments but was hoping against hope that maybe it wasn't as bad as it seemed and he might respond to less drastic treatments. My dog was thought to have cancer at the age of 10yrs old although it was never 100% verified. Only a biopsy could have given us the definite answer. But, taking his age into account, Dr. McLaughlin agreed that he was too old and sick to put him through anything painful and risky. Casper didn't make it but did put up a fight thanks to the help and care of Dr. McLaughlin. I have had many pets euthanized but never by someone so caring and comforting. He is a credit to his profession, and more vets should take a cue from him. After it was all said and done, he sent us a hand written sympathy card, which really meant so very much to us! He is one in a million! Thank you Dr. McLaughlin and staff , you made a very tough time much more bearable!

I have been going to Norwalk Animal Hospital for 7 years and have always had an extremely positive experience. Dr. McLaughlin is professional yet kind and compassionate. He is not an alarmist and gives different options for treatment and is conscious about costs. My dog had hip dysplasia when she was just 1 and needed surgery. I never thought she would walk on 4 legs again, but the physical therapy and care she received at Norwalk Animal Hospital proved me wrong. The staff is always friendly too!
