As a nanny starting way back in 1999, I was hired to care for a wonderful set of twins ( girls and their golden retriever) we had a lot of great trips for well visits and care for him. GAH was wonderful. As time passed, so did our beloved golden retriever, since then the family continued to grow, they had 2 more girls and 2 chocolate/ black labradors,a rhodesian ridge back, 3 great Danes, a labradoodle. Needless to say I spent many hours in the past 18 years bringing the children to GAH to care for their dogs. The care was always exceptional. I recently became a puppy owner myself (missing everyone of course) and naturally only thought to bring my puppy to GAH because I am confident they will give my puppy the best care services possible.

What a beautiful and compassionate clinic. I was there with Lap of Love Veterinary hospice and we were greeted by an outstanding team who was working up front. The clinic is clean and friendly... so you can tell they care. I can't say enough about how welcomed they made me feel!

We met Dr. Kirk when our oldest lab, Bentley, was 8 years old. Tufts University diagnosed him with idiopathic epilepsy and they adjusted his antiseizure medications. He continued to show improvement for a period of several weeks before undergoing an MRI. Ultimately, it was determined he had an aggressive brain tumor. Dr. Kirk’s attention to Bentley’s case and her follow-up with us personally on various occasions went beyond the norm. Her concern for Bentley and us was extraordinary; and we greatly appreciated her level of care/comforting nature and turned over the care of all of our pets to Glastonbury Animal Hospital during February of 2010. Over the years, we have entrusted a total of 7 dogs to the phenomenal care of the medical/office staff of Glastonbury Animal Hospital. This has included routine annual examinations, dental cleanings, surgeries, etc., and unfortunately end of life care. For anyone who knows us, our animals are an immediate extension of our family, and we have found everyone there treats our pets with an extraordinary level of expertise, compassion and follow up. They go out of their way to ensure our babies’ needs are fully addressed.

We did not have the best experience, the doctor tried charging us for a checkup in addition to the money for the shot after we had already been approved for a shot-only appointment. Once we explained this to the lady at the front desk she treated us with very poor customer service and kept arguing that every time an animal comes in the owners are always charged with a checkup (even though we had paperwork that the doctor had waved the fee at home). We will not be attending the place again because the lady who checked us out was very poorly mannered and clearly does not know how to deal with people-get over yourself.

Passion, Best Practices, Experts, Continuing Education & Research are just some of the many more words I can use to apply to this outstanding veterinary hospital. They provide excellent care starting with the front desk staff & all the technical staff that assist the Veterinarian’s. Unlike the healthcare providers today for people... they do not limit the focus on their furry patients or their families to 8 min per visit. Took me 4 phone calls with their staff to get my order of Heartguard for my dog put through. Constant phone calls trying to get me to purchase it through them after asking politely for them to stop selling me on it. Also everytime I go in I'm concerned for what they are going to charge me, my first visit they offered to clip his nails while doing a routine check up. It seemed polite enough and I was appreciative, then they charged me $40 for the 2 minutes of work that it sounded like they were politely offering to do for free.

We have had some significant health problems with our dogs and they have always been there for us. I have been going to Glastonbury Animal Hospital for 28 years. It has always been great, but ever since Dr. Cottahus has taken over the care and service you receive is second to none. Pricing is fair and even if it wasn't the care and service is worth every penny. I would never price shop nor go anywhere else. When my dog had to have ACL surgery a few years back they said to check around on pricing elsewhere if I would like, my only question was how soon could they do the surgery, not would it be cheaper somewhere else. Everyone there is fantastic to deal with and would recommend them to everyone who truly cares about their pet.

In recent years, Dr. Kirk and Dr. Marsh have been compassionate and knowledgeable with treating my canines, passing forward the exceptional skill of the now semi retired Dr. Steve St. Pierre. (He still practices part time on Nantucket.) They are both approachable and very well educated in veterinarian medicine having gone to the best universities for this specialty. This is obvious with their accurate diagnosis and treatment of medical issues with my beloved pets. Also, their professionalism and medical acumen is rooted in love for animals rather than business success. That means everything to me.

I moved from Florida to Connecticut in 2014. I had already had my dog since 2007. He was a part of my family and getting good care for him was very important to me. Glastonbury Animal Hospital did an excellent job of taking care of my Charlie. They were always friendly, always caring, and I could always trust him to do the right thing for him. I moved from Connecticut down to Georgia in June 2019. Sadly my dog Charlie was killed by the neighbor dogs three days after we moved into our new house. But I am so grateful and thankful for the care he received At Glastonbury Animal Hospital. You guys were the best. I would highly recommend using them for your furry family member.

My canine children have been customers for 11 and 12 years, respectively. Suffice it to say, this is not their favorite destination. However, their mother feels it is important for them to be happy and healthy. Mom feels the entire staff is open and warm to animals and humans. In addition, the entire staff is extremely knowledgeable in pet care. Our primary provider is Dr. Cotthaus who is not only great with my dogs but also with mom and dad allowing us time for questions when needed. Dr. Cotthaus is through and direct with silly and anxious parents when needed. I would never, EVER take my dogs anywhere else and I will consistently recommend this practice to anyone who asks.

My dogs have been going there for quite a while and every time we have tried to give them more chances they fail to improve. Our last visit was when I finally decided we have had enough. They tell you one price at the beginning and it ends up being a completely different one when you pull out your card at the end of the visit. Our last visit we were told 300 and it came out to 600. That is a big difference and was not the first time. I also tried to refill my dogs allergy medicine because the season is back and they told me he needed to be reevaluated in order to receive it again (probably to get another 600 dollars out of us) I am now on a search for a new vet and am more than happy to take him to get evaluated there because I refuse to take him back to this place. Completely unsatisfied and I do not recommend this place to anyone. Also the front desk have no clue what they are doing and are completely rude as well. Not caring and need to get their pricing correct as well.

If you are looking for a place to take your pet where they will be loved and care for, this is the place. My family has been taking our dogs to GAH for over 2 decades. When I got my own cat and dogs as an adult, it wasn’t even a question as to who’d be caring for them. We have never had anything but love, patience and kindness shown to our pets and to us, so much compassion, when the time same to say goodbye. I would give them 10 stars if I could. I transferred from piper hospital in middletown to this hospital. This is clean and fresh air hospital. Every workers friendly,nice and professional.Dr Barry is very nice ! My English not very well so he explained to me for my cat dental problem and Cleaning the dental and remove one bad tooth. The other lady girl worker also nice and take care my son pangpang. My son is very nice now ! I always choose this pet hospital for my cat ! Thank you for every worker for take care my cat in this hospital!

Its unfortunate there is not a 0 star area that would allow me to check, its deserved. While I appreciate this places ability (and all vets) to cure an animals health they do a horrible job at quoting the job which as we all know is an important part hence finding a vet you can trust. Not once but numerous times I have visited them and told one price only to find out at checkout it was very much different than I was told. In speaking with numerous people throughout the town the consensus was a vast majority also experienced the same issues at one point. Given there are not to many vet options in Glastonbury, many people like myself choose to not make a change until recently. The tipping point was this: At the very least I have tried to save some money by ordering my pet medication online this year to absorb some of my surprise vet costs which this same establishment had written the same prescription not even 10 months ago for. In trying to save $50+ on the cost for a few pills, when you order a pet script online the check with your local vet for approval. Needless to say it was denied two times. They asked that my pet come back in for the same cost it was last year, for a check up plus the cost of the meds. Needless to say there is not much effort what so ever to help retain there local customer base or simply apologize for all the situations that occur. You would think that the vets, assistants & front desk staff would be well trained in simple pricing and customer service & loyalty. Instead its occurred to me there a place that simply plays fast money given were a society that will do anything for our pets. You should have better luck the next town or two over.

The Hospital team at GAH are nothing short of outstanding! We entrusted the care of our beloved, almost 14 year old, yellow lab all of his years to Dr. Cotthaus and the entire team and know his was a wonderful, happy, long life because he received only the best care. We, along with other family members, have been blessed to have our dogs live long, amazing, healthy lives under the of the excellent care of this whole team. The entire staff (reception to room) have always been professional - but they are also incredibly personable and caring - like being with family! Sophisticated office, clean, modern and able to handle simple visits to complex. Easy to schedule appointments and have always made accommodations for urgent visits.
