My pups have been patients here for years. Dr. Dave Haviar is the BEST and although we don't always see him, we have never been disappointed by the other medical staff. They are all TOP NOTCH! The ladies that run the front office are always friendly, caring and genuinely love seeing all the animals as they come in. We have been there for everything over the years including routine visits, dietary questions, emergencies and odd things that come up when you are caring for these precious animals. I couldn't imagine bringing my babies anywhere else!!!! Thank you to the entire staff for always giving our pups the best care ever!

Terrible place! Don’t bring your pets here! They waited 5 days to give my dog a refill on her heart failure meds which caused her heart failure to progress rapidly! I’ve never been to a worse place. The receptionist is evil and should be fired.

I have been a client of the Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill for six years, and they have always been there for me and my cats. I have a talent for attracting special needs pets, and I may not be the easiest of clients. Rocky Hill has provided care, love, and support for my FIV+ cat, my cat with chronic rhinitis, and my feral cat (who is quite a handful.) I am convinced that my FIV+ cat would not be with us today without the research and problem solving approaches they've consistently offered to battle the virus that compromises his immune system. They have at times seen him multiple times in one week, and everyone from the receptionists to the vet techs to the doctors has expressed concern and provided support for his health needs. They are respectful of my litany of cat symptoms and considerate of suggestions I offer about possible causes or treatments. They are valuable members of my caregiving community, as important to me as friends and family.

For over twenty years, we were with another vet. He knew all our pets to their core, helped us with the loss of three and did our lab's first ACL repair right before he retired. A few years later, when she tore the other knee, they no longer had an orthopedic and we didn’t know what to do. We had been to AHRH emergency practice with both dogs, we felt we could trust the team…we called and you welcomed us in that very day. Dr. Javier did the repair (twice) and we officially switched to this practice. Everyone took such great care of her each day since.

My husband and I became first-time pet owners two months ago and planned to bring our pet to this clinic after research and also recommendations from acquaintances. We are glad we did! All of the staff are friendly, I never have trouble reaching someone on the phone, and I have been pleased so far with the veterinary care of our puppy. Everyone takes great pains to make sure pets enjoy their experience there and always shower them with (healthy) treats. They have electronic systems and the facilities are always clean and welcoming. There are separate waiting areas for cats and dogs and books for kids to read. I don't have anything negative to say and I there is nothing I can think of to improve upon. I highly recommend the Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill!

I had my first visit with my 7 year old dog Joker recently for a physical and vaccinations. From the moment I walked into the practice, the staff was friendly and welcoming. They provided me with a welcome bag which I thought was going above and beyond expectations. They did not keep me waiting long at all before I was brought into an exam room. The staff member who helped before the exam was great with my dog and made him feel very comfortable. Then we saw Dr. Hrynkiewicz who was professional, informative and kind. She made sure I did not leave without my dog receiving all the vaccinations and examinations necessary and answered all my questions. Previously we have only gone to a family member for veterinary care, but Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill really makes you feel like family. Thank you!

I felt like they were more concerned about getting me to the "checkout" counter than making sure that my pet was ok.They are greedy and it shows.

This is not a review of the practice, I am only reviewing Dr. Lauren Deltosta. KEEP YOUR ANIMALS FAR AWAY FROM DR. DELTOSTA!!! I recently saw Dr. Deltosta at the CT Vet Center in West Hartford where she put my dog's life in danger with her negligence. She left the CT Vet Center very shortly after this incident and has joined the Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill. I came into the CT Vet Center worried that there was something stuck in my dogs throat, it was obvious that I was going to have to do x-rays, however Dr. Deltosta did the x-rays and assured me that based off the x-rays there is nothing in her throat. It wasn't until the next day when my dog had developed a lump on her throat and I took her back to the vet (meeting with a different doctor) that they informed me that Dr. Deltosta had only x-rayed my dogs abdomen before lying to me that there was nothing in her throat based off the x-rays. When they did a second set of x-rays the next day, they showed there was actually a sewing needle lodged in my dog's throat and she needed emergency surgery to remove it. Dr. Deltosta put me and my dog through an extra 24 hours of pain and suffering and if it hadn't been for the other amazing doctors at the CT Vet Center that saved her life, my dog may not have been here today due to my encounter with "Dr." Deltosta.

I normally love this place. We have been going for years and have spent thousands and thousands on our dogs. We Love Dr. Javier and Kristen and everyone else has been great. I called the other day to make an appointment for their shots and yearly visit. We live in Florida for 6 months so I make sure that when we come back we make our appointments. Which was fine. I did mention that our little Piper girl was crying all the time and scratching. I explained she is on Zyrtec but seems to be very restless and crying all the time. . She also has liver disease. My answer from the receptionist was I think ER is your only option because we have no openings or call next week and maybe we will have cancellation. Really??? I'm still in shock that you are so busy that you can't take care of your old time patients and animals that have been with you for years. I'm very disappointed right now. Outstanding. The vet here saved my cat's life several times. My first cat had UTI issues and needed major surgery. The vet sewed him back up perfectly and my cat's health has been excellent since. The ER service is wonderful. I showed up there several times in the middle of the night with a very sick kitty. The staff was attentive, kind, and helpful. They offered me the low cost solutions first. I have since moved far from this area so I no longer bring my cats here. For major procedures and emergencies, I highly recommend this vet. However, the record-keeping seems a bit problematic. The staff tried to charge me for a visit I didn't make. Only after they double checked their records did they realize they had sent me a bill for someone else's pet visit. The bill clerk's initial assumption was that the bill was right and I was wrong. I was baffled that they wanted to charge more than $100 for a visit I did not make. This is the only time that happened and I doubt it reflects the typical experience of most clients. That was the only issue I ever had for them. If you get a bill in the mail from them, think twice. Most clients pay the bill in full at the time of service, so you should not be getting vet bills in the mail.

I came to The Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill August 1, 2018, after a less than pleasant experience with our former vet. Upon my first visit, I was immediately put at ease with how friendly and wonderful the staff and veterinarians were. I had received a second opinion about my puppy’s teeth and Dr. Kristin Haviar recommended that one tooth needed to be extracted due to my puppy having all of her adult teeth behind it. I agreed and made the appointment for the extraction. As a new mommy, I had my concerns and fears of Penelope going under for the procedure. Today was the day of the procedure and the veterinary tech, Emily, not only put me at ease but made Penelope feel super safe and comfortable. As soon as the procedure was over, Emily called with an update and a time window of when I could pick my girl up. Heather, the receptionist that helped me, was extremely kind and attentive with getting me set up with my bill and getting me into a room to see Penelope. I could not be more happy with the quality of care that my best girl and I received. If you are not happy with your current vet, The Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill is the best choice you will make for you and more importantly your pets.

I took my dog there because she was having trouble breathing. Dr. David Havier came in and took plenty of time with us. I was very pleased by his demeanor and genuine concern for our dog. We had to be referred out. Unfortunately, my dog had to be put down a few weeks later. We went in to the 24 hour ER. We were extremely upset and crying. Again we were met with a compassionate staff. Our experience was pretty good. Our arrival though could have been better. Our dog ate chocolate late one night and he wasn’t handling it well in his belly. We brought our pup to the emergency vet hospital in rocky hill around midnight. The nurse who let us in didn’t have the best bedside manner. She kind of rushed us and acted as though our visit was an inconvenience. We weren’t informed about being seen by the vet, she took our paperwork and just walked into the back, without saying a word. We waited about 10-15 minutes before she came to bring us to an exam room. The vet was VERY friendly and knowledgeable, and seemed like he cared about our pup. He gave his recommendation in laymen’s terms so we felt comfortable and at ease with the situation. That nurse that greeted us was VERY pleasant in the end upon our exit. She was sweet and explained everything to us. I’m not sure what her deal was in the beginning, but she turned it around and was helpful!

Our neighbors have always highly recommended Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill. After several years with a previous veterinarian we finally decided to switch. I have two dogs and it’s easier for me to bring them separately. I thought it was so nice that the office staff made sure both dogs would be seen by the same doctor so a history can be developed with both the dogs and the owner. Dr. Tatro was great as were the assistants. Office staff were extremely kind, helpful and friendly. Overall a very nice experience.

The family that has run this veterinary clinic/hospital is the most caring family and has dedicated their lives to the well being of all of our furry family members. I became a client of AHRH about 8 years ago when I had to use their emergency hospital in the middle of the night for my cat, Max, who had kidney stones. My husband was away on business and I had to go through the ordeal alone. Our animals are our children and I was very afraid that I would lose Max that night. Dr. Havier and his staff were so wonderful and literally saved Max's life. He would have died if not for their awesome care. I was so impressed that I immediately changed all my animals over to their facility from my vet at the time even though it was much further away from my home. I have never looked back. They also gave the utmost outstanding care to my beloved German Shepherd, Zara, in the last couple years of her life and with their outstanding care gave her those extra years with us. Everyone in that office from the receptionists to the technicians to the veterinarians themselves are compassionate, friendly, knowledgeable and professional people. They all take the time to get to know your pet and make them feel comfortable in an environment that of course makes them anxious. They even offer the service of coming to your home when it is time to say goodbye to your beloved pet which makes it so much better for you as well as your pet being in their own surroundings. We took advantage of this service and it was the best thing we ever did. I can't say enough about this practice and could go on and on. However, I will leave it at that you and your pet will get the best care for routine visits as well as any emergency care you may need at Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill!

On a late Friday night, Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill diagnosed my ailing cat with asthma or pneumonia. After an overnight stay and $750.00 in charges, they discharged him next day with two medications and pleasantly told us that he should be "all set." Two days of declining health later, after being advised by our weekday veterinarian to avoid this place, we brought him to Pieper Memorial in Middletown where he was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. We made the unexpected and excruciating decision to let him go that same day as we were advised that he could not come home or survive without oxygen support. I cannot help but feel aggrieved with AHRH for misdiagnosing my cat and missing on their x-rays (that Pieper later analyzed clearly for visible tumors) such a serious medical condition just 48 hours earlier. Our cat was dying when they took him in, something they overlooked. Their response lacked both precision and accuracy and, instead, provided our family a false and futile hope that our sweet boy would be okay. The pain and anguish of losing a pet is never easy. However, our grief has been exponentially compounded by the incorrect actions and advice provided us by AHRH. We will never bring another loved one here.

The receptionist was so pleasant, the vet tech was wonderful and the vet Kristin Haviar was absolutely wonderful. She spent so much time listening to my concerns and thoroughly examined my cat Molly who was sick. I felt she genuinely cared about her and also how I was doing too. I have switched both my cats over to this veterinary hospital. I also like that if I have an animal emergency they will have my cats records immediately available as a resource since they are an emergency hospital after hours.

We recently moved to the area and were in need of a new vet for our dog. The Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill was recommended to us by a family member knowing that our dog is very nervous in new situations and isn’t always the “easiest patient”. We were welcomed with a very generous tote bag filled with both treats and goodies for the dog as well as a folder full of useful information for the owners. Once called into the examination room, the vet tech was welcoming to us and understanding that our dog was very anxious in this new situation. She took her time getting to know our dog and slowly gaining her trust. The vet, too, acted in the same way and they could not have been more patient and gentle with her. We had a successful visit, which is not always the case with our dog and how jumpy she can get. The staff even gave us advice on what we can do to make vet visits more comfortable for all of us in the future – This even included stopping in with her on days she does not have an appointment for “happy visits” so she does not always associate the vet with a scary environment. We greatly appreciated this knowing how busy they must be, having emergency hospital service also on site. All staff at The Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill were extremely friendly and understanding that some dogs need extra special attention and treatment. You can tell they have a true passion for what they do, and I would recommend them to anyone in need of quality care for their pets.

Took Dambe in for a wellness check and because the doc was pregnant, she said she couldn’t lift my dog up,, but she didn’t have to, because the scale moves up and down, she examined my dog, and gave her 3 shots, without me knowing,, and they thought it was ok and funny when I mentioned it to the owner David, the worst place ever,,,

Through his care and the care provided by his team, our pets live long and happy lives. No less dedicated and skilled are the vet techs, assistants, and administrators. These are all wonderful people who treat the pets and their owners like family. They have laughed with us through happy times, cried with us through the most difficult times, and always provided sound and compassionate care. We remain grateful for each and every one of them. Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill is the best vet I have ever used in more than 30 years of owning dogs. Everyone cares as much about my dogs as I do. My Springer Spaniel Angel just spent a week there after complications from a pregnancy of 14 pups. Not only did Dr Jason Haviar save 13 of the 14 pups but Doc and Dr Jason saved Angel’s life. I don’t think I have cried so much in one week in a long time. From gratitude to worry but mostly for the love and care AHRH showed to Angel and to me - every single time I called to check on her and even encouraging me to visit - which always made me happy. The knowledge of the entire staff and the love they have for the animals in their care makes AHRH a top notch Vet Hospital. A huge thank you to every single person on the staff. Daytime , nighttime, weekends. I could not have asked for any better care.

My first time having to use the 24 hours ER services they have. I was met with a very nice and professional person named Kiesha (I hope I spelled that right). Then I had the pleasure of having Dr. Gargamelli take over for my baby. He was calm, professional and concerned for me and my dog. I felt much better after he took him in for x-rays and explained everything to me when he got back. No rushing to explain anything and said if I had any more questions they would be there for me. People need to realize working at a hospital for animals is no different than it is for humans. As a matter of fact it is harder because your patient cannot say what is wrong. I worked at a vet hospital for 7 years and I know the pressure the doctors and staff are under. In closing their prices were very FAIR.

A Great big Thank You to AHRH!! As busy as they are, they made time to check my French Bulldog Baguette's Eye. Turned out to have an ulcer and was taken care of as it needed to be. This place does it all and with a smile too. The staff is very well trained and will take the time to follow up on your pet. All the Dr's are an A+ !!

Been bringing my pets to the Animal Hospital of RH for over 30 yr. I have complete confidence in the doctors and staff. The care my pets get is second to none. Everyone is caring, courteous and highly professional and trained. I highly recommend this practice.

Wonderful service from a caring staff. I've been here on a few different occasions for pet emergencies and the staff here have always been spectacular. The situations are difficult to deal with, but they always appear to have compassion. The services can be very expensive, but they're worth it.
