Best Vet ever! Dr. Bernie is great and takes great care of the animals. She had to do an emergency spay on my dog and did a great job with this tricky surgery. She spent more than enough time explaining everything to me and making sure that I fully understood absolutely everything. There was a possibility of my dog not making it, which is a risk with any surgery, but I felt she really wanted to make sure I was fully informed. She was very clear on all instructions and the cost of everything. There was absolutely no surprises. My dog has been doing great and I am so thankful.

I have had pets my whole life and have seen many veterinarians. Without a doubt Dr. Aleksey is the finest, most gentle and smartest I have met. She has cared for my sick cats with the utmost concern offering advice, alternatives with minimal distress on the animals or ourselves. Her routine care is excellent as well and my dogs are happy to go to the vets! The staff at Adorable Pets is also the finest I have experienced, well educated and excellent with all the animals. I couldn't recommend a better place to take your animals.

What can I say...this clinic is truly the best!!! Dr. Bernie and staff are amazing, knowledgeable, caring, personal, open to new ideas and treatments, integrate traditional and Asian medical treatments and, so important, LISTEN to pet mom's and dads. Not to miss that they're open extended days and hours! We're very lucky to have this clinic in Haddam. Oh, and Dr. Bernie throws an amazing thank you party every summer for her patients' family, yes really! Try them and tell them Ginger and Princess' mom sent you ;-)!!

Adorable Pets Veterinary Clinic has been taking care of my 2 dogs, Clementine & Bruno for about 5 years. They always go above and beyond to make my 4 legged kids feel comfortable and happy. I love Dr. Bernie and her staff. They have been wonderful in their treatment of my 3 cats, one of whom has asthma and another who was just diagnosed with cancer. I feel that my animals get quality care, and Dr Bernie and her staff are always conscientious about making sure I understand the expenses associated with treatments and testing as well as what type of prognoses may be expected as a result of the tests. Dr Bernie also makes house calls which is very helpful when you have multiple pets who all require their annual exams and shots at one time. If you have ever tried to herd more than one cat into her carrier within a given time period you'll understand the convenience of this. The first one is relatively easy but once the others see what's coming... I have referred a few friends to her and they have all been very happy with the care their pets receive here. One more thing, Dr Bernie is also well-studied in alternative medicine so if you are concerned about using western pharmaceuticals/treatments on you pets she can offer other options as well.

My first experience with Adorable Pets and Dr. Bernie was an emergency situation. They were incredibly supportive (I was a bit panicked and had misplaced a lot of my necessary information) and got my pup in to see them within a few hours. The whole staff was wonderful with my dog (who, let’s be honest, is a small dog and very open about his dislike of being handled by strangers even when he’s not in pain) - taking their time and handling him gently. Dr. Bernie followed up with me the next day and whenever I have had questions has either come to the phone immediately (!) or gotten back to me promptly. I’ve been very picky about my dog’s vet care because I’m aware he’s hard to handle and because he’s incredibly important to me. I’m so happy with Dr. Bernie and her staff and I’m so lucky to have found them when my pup and I needed them most. (I also love that her approach is a mix of cutting edge and holistic care, and that her business seems very community centered. Highly recommended by this over anxious dog mom.)

I am the husband of Diana Radulescu, who posted a negative review of this practice earlier. I feel compelled to write in response to Dr. Aleksey's comments. First, our dog Grace has had recurring problems with infections in her right ear for months for which we repeatedly brought her to Dr. Aleksey. She was treated with antibiotics several times, which did not fix the problem as the infections continued to reoccur. There was no discussion at these prior visits concerning potential causation or referral to any specialists. It was not until our most recent visit that the possibility of referring Grace to a specialist or surgeon was even raised, and it was raised because I asked for a referral to a specialist in light of the fact that Grace's problems were not resolving. For the first time at this most recent visit, Dr. Aleksey suggested that the ear infections were possibly the result of allergies compounded by a growth in her ear which might require surgery. She referred me to a dermatologist, whom she said could evaluate what the best course would be for treating Grace and then placed Grace on a new antibiotic, which was ineffective. If she had any misgivings or concerns prior to this visit, Dr. Aleksey did not express them to me. I would not have written this review at all if Dr. Aleksey's response had not mischaracterized our conversations. I do not think that a specialist would have been suggested had we not asked about one, and I believe that this option should have been suggested sooner.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Have brought multiple pets to them and received the utmost care. One pet had some health problems and we were able to keep them under control. Excellent personnel, and I could always get in if needed to.

While I advocate for any place that takes care of pets, this one I wouldn't consider to be the best. Don't get me wrong the people are nice, and I suppose they cater to you to the best of their ability. However the wait took a lot longer than I expected. Especially since it was a Saturday and nobody else was in the office. A visit that should have taken maybe 15-20 minutes ended up taking a couple of hours. I was left alone unattended to in one of the examination rooms for an hour. My pet was stir crazy, and no other clients were in the office. For professionals on the go, this is not a place for expediency. However, in their defense I will say that the staff was courteous and kind, although extremely slow. For purposes of this review, I wouldn't say don't go, I would just say allow yourself enough time because you might be there for a little while. A long while unattended, rather.

Our dog odin was very sick one morning on a Saturday. We use Dr bernie for all our pets but have yet to have an emergency situation such as this. Adorable pets got us right in, and started the necessary steps to get odin feeling better. Some other vets seem to look for the money first, and the treatment last but adorable pets took a genuine empathetic interest in odin's well being and worked with us on the pricing as well. I'll never take our pets anywhere else and I recommend them highly.

Love Dr Bernie. She and her staff are wonderful, caring people who are really operating in the best interest of the animals. Never is there a "hard sell" like so many other vets. They even make house calls which is a huge help to people like me with 3 cats who would never let me crate and transport them all at once. Dr Bernie takes the time to explain everything and make sure to answer all my questions thoughtfully. The staff always follows up on every visit to make my cats are doing well. I highly recommend them and wouldn't go anywhere else.

This place maybe be OK as long as your pet does not require any actual care, just routine check-ups and vaccinations. If you need anything else DO NOT COME HERE!! My dog has been fighting an ear infection for the past 5 months; the doctor here keep giving her various antibiotics, none of them which worked. We finally got fed up and went directly to Pieper Memorial Hospital where the doctors where shocked by the condition of the dog's ear and wondered why the veterinarian at Adorable Pets did not refer her out or at least do a culture in a laboratory before trying blindly so many different antibiotics. My dog now is scheduled for CT scan and ear surgery next week. All of these could have been avoided if Dr Bernie Aleksey would have known her business.

Overall, Dr. Aleksey is a sharp and talented physician who refuses to just throw another prescription at her patient, rather she insists on investigating deeper into the health problem to come up with the best course of treatment. She is very accommodating and extremely sensitive to her patients' needs. Based on the experience I had with Adorable Pets with my two kitties, I would trust Dr. Aleksey and her staff with my pet any day. Great people, great place to come for care.

Dr. Bernie and her team provide the most amazing care. I can't say enough about how awesome they are. I was truly blessed when I walked through their door with my Golden Retriever Shadow. Dr. Bernie gave me almost 6 months with my special girl after being told from another vet that it was in her best interest to put her to sleep. I am so thankful that my sister was familiar with Dr. Bernie and her amazing work and compassion or I would have never had the chance to thank her for the most amazing gift ever, more time.
