This is a place you will be throwing precious time and money away at. Chances are you will leave their office with more worry and concern than when you entered, however with less money. I would never take an animal I love and care about here and I would never recommend them to anyone. They are great at collecting money but function poorly at returning calls or addressing concerns. Don't go to West side animal!!!

I have taken my dogs, cats, and horses here for ages. They are caring and compassionate when it comes to your beloved four legged family. They are highly skilled and have proven themselves time and time again with my animals. I have an 11 year old golden that has had the greatest care from them. They have done two necessary surgeries on her and they have always taken every precaution possible to make sure she does well post op. She acts like she is 5 now that she has corrected teeth and a tumor removed. They also saved her from acute liver failure!

Horrible service, twice in one year we had an emergency and the there "after hours" doctor never called me back. I had my dying dog in my lap at there door waiting for them to call and never did. I’ve been a client of Westside for over a year. From the first wellness visit to yesterday’s tooth extraction, my Pomeranian Maya has been treated professionally by people who appear to truly care about her wellness. The hospital is always clean and organized, the staff always friendly and helpful, and Maya appears comfortable. I’ve taken past pets to other “lower cost” veterinary clinics and have never felt as confident and trusting with my dog as I do with Dr. Hutchinson and staff. They’ve been upfront and honest about my options for level of care and have done exactly what is necessary for Maya. I feel their rates are comparable to other quality, privately owned clinics. Thank you, Westside, for taking away Maya’s tooth pain. She’s back to normal after less than 24 hours. For quality care, I recommend Westside.

Every single person that works here is the absolute best. We've not had a bad experience with either of my dogs. My oldest recently was diagnosed with cancer on her liver and the staff answered all my questions, put up with my worry and advised me to the best treatment plan. Dr. Geist has also followed up with me after to treat another issue that came up after the cancer was removed. Seriously, this staff is amazing. If there was the ability to give zero star this place deserves it. Over 12 years ago I had to put my 14 year old Bassett hound Chellsea to sleep. This place was close to home and seemed all right. They cremated Chellsea for me. When I went to pick up her ashes I expected to pay $120. They told me it was no charge and went to check with who ever was in charge at the moment and the secretary handed me the remains and said that it was taken care off. Three months later I get a collection notice for $240 for the Westside vet hospital. Not exactly something you want drawn out into a ordeal. I contacted the collection agency and explained what took place. It never showed up on my credit history so I assumed all party's involved let it go. Now 12 years later with my 10 year old Bassett hound Lulu who has been diagnosed with cancer and is in desperate need of surgery, I contact Westside vet hospital again and make an appointment to have a second opinion on the cancer and surgery. It's the week of thanksgiving and they inform me because of that it will be Monday before I can have her seen. I understand and make the appointment early Monday morning November 19th. I get a phone call about 6pm telling me they are canceling the appointment because of the whole cremation of chellseaanne over 12 years ago! They have NO SENCE OF COMPASSION! DON'T LET ANY ONE THAT WORKS HERE FOOL YOU INTO THINKING OTHERWISE! USE ANY OTHER VET HOSPITAL EXCEPT THIS ONE! LOW LIFE'S WORK HERE!

I called just about every vet in town to get my ancient cat in for a tooth to be removed. It was probably by chance that I went with West Side, they had an appointment available much sooner than most vets that I called. They even called me when there was a surgery cancellation and my cat was able to get everything taken care of in less than a week from my first call. My experience going in was unlike the other recent times I had visited the vet with my ancient, overweight, cranky pet cat. Firstly, the front desk and waiting area (has a useful airlock) is comfortable, clean, warm, and has a very professional atmosphere like a nicer hotel. The vet did not berate me for 'letting my cat get fat' or not brushing her teeth. The vet did not try to be macho at all, and took cues from my cat to determine what she could and could not do without irritating the cat. After blood work, she even praised my kitty on her patience (I don't know if I believe that). The vet didn't beat around the bush when it came time to discuss costs, she gave me two estimates a high end estimate (around 1,000) and a low end estimate(around 500), she let me know that in both scenarios there was a 'wellness plan' available that would cover a majority of the costs and I would pay a lot less out of pocket, as well as getting a whole year's worth of checkups, shots, etc for my cat. I decided to go with it (for about 70 a month) because my cat is getting so old. Two days later, bloodwork is good, cat goes in for a cleaning and potential tooth extraction. They let me drop her off at 7:30 and scheduled pickup for 2:30. I got several calls from the vet to discuss complications unique to my cat, and he let me make the choice on whether they should proceed or complete more x-rays etc. My cat apparently has a slight heart murmur, but it wasn't an issue, she went under fine, got her teeth cleaned, and had 2 teeth removed. I ended up paying less than 500 out of pocket, despite needing additional x-rays, opting for some of the higher cost options, etc. I got x-rays on a disk and they even trimmed my cat's nails (probably for their own safety). The vet gave the cat praise for her patience again and discussed her meds/ etc. The vet didn't try to change my mind about my cat's diet (another vet gave me a long lecture on switching my cat back to dry food that made her overweight and constipated in the first place), and agreed it would help with her weight and water intake. Didn't try to pressure me to brush my cat's teeth or anything suicidal like that, and scheduled a follow up appointment in 3 months to check on her weight and check out her heart again. I left even feeling pretty good about the whole thing because they drew a smiley face on the paperwork and said her other teeth were all perfect. I don't feel like a bad pet owner. All of the staff was helpful, and genuinely interested in my cat. Everyone was very gentle with me, even though I don't express much, the whole ordeal was very hard for me, and I appreciate the kindness they showed my cat. Most importantly, Rectangle is back to her normal self and just as belligerent and murderous without fangs as she was with them, much to the chagrin of any rodents or lizards in a 1 mile radius.

After shopping around I decided to take my 7 puppies here for their first round of vaccinations. Beautiful place, easily accessible location, very friendly staff. Everything was great until we got to the payment. I was told (still have it written down) that it would cost me $230 to get all 7 puppies a brief check up and their first round of shots. Try $401. Pretty nasty $171 surprise. My first and only experience here.

Wonderfully helpful staff. I just recently moved to the Springs and my dog got pretty sick. I called in to see what I should do. They did not try to force me to come in ( which I would have done if they said it was necessary) and listened to the problems my dog was having. They gave me a couple of treatment options over the phone and helped ease my mind. My dog is doing much better and when it comes time to take her to the vet, this will be the vet I go to. I never write company reviews, but felt compelled to do so after my wonderful experience with Westside Animal Hospital. I took my cat there for the first time and upon walking in the front door, the clinic staff had written my name and my cat's name on the welcome chalkboard. A small, but very nice touch. The front desk staff were very friendly and checked me in right away, then handed me a file folder with some information and Westside's contact information so that I could keep all of my cat's records in one place. What a great idea. Dr. De Waal was very friendly and patient and really took the time to understand my cat's situation. She was properly diagnosed and given a treatment plan that is working. The cost of the visit and all exams was very reasonable. I could not have been more impressed with my visit and will be going to Westside Animal Hospital from now on for all of my pet needs.

We had an emergency today with our dog. My wife and I were out of town and had asked our caregiver to take him to the hospital as he was convulsing. We were told that since we are "inactive" clients, they wouldn't see out Dog unless our caregiver assumed financial responsibility.(meaning paying them first) Clearly I see where their focus is, its not on the animals well for sure!!

We rescued our first dog and were recommended to Westside Animal Hospital. They were extremely helpful and friendly! They were very patient with us first-time-dog-owners as well as with our insecure GSD. They gave us great advice, the prices are very reasonable, and even suggested an amazing trainer to help us with our dog's insecurities. When we had some questions after the visit, they were more than happy to help. At one point our dog's nail tore off and we were debating on taking him to the vet, so we called to ask their opinion. They told us to send them a picture via email to show the vet. I would assume, like human doctors, the automatic response would be to bring them in for a charge, but they said it wasn't anything to worry about and told us what to do to help it heal. We could not imagine going anywhere else =)

Big rant west side animal hospital offers 24/7 emergency service. But they won't call you back!!!! This is the second time this has happened to me. The fist time they had my dying cat told me to call and they would meet me to put her down I called 8 times left message's no one called me back. When one of there employees showed up to meet another customer he talked to me like it was my fault I had sat in the parking lot for 3hrs waiting on them to call me back!!!!!! Then last night my dog was very sick called left message never called me back!!! Not even today still have not herd anything from them!!!! Now the rave I called altitude animal hospital they called me right back in less the 5 minutes and had someone meet me in less the an hour! Thank you altitude you have mine and my family's business for now on!!!

We have been coming to Westside Animal Clinic for two years and we can't sing their praises enough. The first time we had to take our 8 yr. old cat for dental work and they were so helpful and honest. They told us the price ( which was $900 less) than the vet we used for our male cat and let us make two payments 30 days apart. We were very surprised because all others pretty much turned us down when it came to this. We now take all three of our fur-babies to them and won't go anywhere else. They are very professional, honest and friendly whether it is in person or on the phone. They take their time and answer all questions to make sure you feel comfortable with what they are doing. They don't try to push procedures that aren't necessary because they care. We have referred them to friends and will continue to refer them. We are so lucky to have them to take care of our fur-babies and us.

Yesterday was my, and my dogs first time at a vet, she was being spayed. From the first time I called I was very well taken care of, all of my questions and concerns answered. I loved that it was a same day appointment, meaning she was in and out the same day. Fairly priced, about the same as everyone else, all of the staff was very nice, very focused on my dog and not the money, they even quoted me about 75 dollars higher than what I payed, called to let me know she was doing okay bef6and after the surgery. I can NOT say enough wonderful things about Westside Animal Hospital. From the wonderful front desk and the kind and knowledgeable vet techs, to the best veterinarian my 3 large dogs and cat have ever had, you will feel confident that your animal is well cared for and loved. We go to Dr. Hutchinson, and after trying about 10 other vets in the area (yes, I’m that lady), we will never go elsewhere. She is the cream of the crop, but also really listens to you and truly cares for your animals as if they’re her own. For my fearful dog, she sat on the floor the entire appt. For our older dog, she treated a skin infection that multiple previous vets had missed or misdiagnosed. Even our cat was calm in her presence. I could go on and on, but my husband, our animals, and I are so happy to have found Westside Animal Hospital!

We absolutely Love Westside Animal Hospital! Doug, Laura, Sammi, Brian and Rick are all amazing with our pets. Our lab Cheyenne had multiple health issues, including many allergies and seizures. It took awhile to figure out what all was going on with her, but they never stopped trying or looking for answers. Every time I called they answered my questions or got our girl right in. The last night I called them for Cheyenne, there was nothing we could do to save her. They stayed with us right till the very end, offering us as much comfort as they did for our Cheyenne. We now have 2 new family members, Carl the Cat and Gracie the Dog. We have already had to call for Carl,he's kind of a jerk and is not happy about Gracie. His tantrums have caused a couple of self inflicted injuries. We have every confidence that the Amazing Team at Westside Animal Hospital will provide just as much love and excellent care for these two as they have for our pets and ourselves in the past!!

I found Westside through Google and AHAA. I am so glad that we switched our dogs to them. The entire staff was so sweet to our youngest (he had a traumatic experience at last vet) and they even did his exam on the floor because that's where he was most comfortable. Monday my small dog fell from a great height fracturing his leg. It's only Thursday now he has already had surgery and he is back home and acting is as if nothing had happened to him. This accident happened 60 miles away from Colorado Springs but I didn't trust to take my best friend anywhere else. I could not be happier with the team at Westside they were so gracious and so accommodating not only to my pet but to me as well. They had him doing x-rays within minutes of me bringing him into their office, they explained everything to me the procedures everything I needed to know. And I know my pet was treated very well as when it came time to leave he did not seem all that anxious to go. I would never take my pet anywhere else these guys are the best and I am lucky to have them as veterinarians

Dr. Laura and Dr. Doug are the best!! My sweet lab Sage got into a porcupine late on a Saturday. They came to the clinic at night and did an excellent job of removing all the quills. They LOVE animals and it shows: my dog seemed to even catch on and sat quietly for them while they pulled quills out of her mouth for 30 mins. We've taken Sage here for several years now for different things: my highest recommendations!

Need a vaccine for my dog. The hospital will not provide the vaccine without upselling me on an exam. I offered to schedule an exam for later and they said that's not good enough. I just want my dog up on his shots. Apparently they don't care enough about your pet and would rather upsell than have him properly vaccinated.

We have been taking both of our Golden Retrievers to Westside Animal Hospital for over 12 years. From the front desk to the Veterinarian Doctors are all very knowledgeable. We usually see Dr. Dye or Dr. De Waal and both are so friendly and you can tell that they are very experienced. The staff treats our dog as if they were their own. We have been through basic check up to risky surgeries and we would never use anyone but Westside. Thank you all for treating our "boys" with such excellent care.

I took my dog there after she had pulled out her sutures. My regular vet hadn't gotten back to me, I didn't feel comfortable waiting and westside said they could squeeze me in. Instead of replacing them with individual sutures, since we discussed that she was able to reach them with a cone on, they did one single continuous stitch, which she got out ,with the cone on, about 3 hours after leaving the vet in the amount of time it took me to show, so maybe ten minutes at the longest. Waste of $400. I had gotten in touch with her regular vet by that time, where I spent about the same for much better quality work. The people at west side animal hospital were very nice and accommodating but I was very disappointed when my vet explained the problems with the suture they put in. I haven't had any trouble with the sutures that my regular vet did.
