Briargate vet clinic did a wonderful job with my pet bunny. She went in to be spayed and was out the same day. I took her back in for a follow up and everything went well. They were very nice and the prices were within reason. I would reccommend this vet for anyone with pet bunnies. It can be hard to find people in CoS that know about rabbits.

We have used BVC since we moved to Colorado Springs in 1993. We absolutely love Dr. Flenniken who has helped us with the loss of beloved pets and helped us to understand the care of pets that have needed help over the years. He explains everything and gives us the costs ahead of time so we can make an informed decision on the right course of action. Staff is friendly and very accommodating.

Where to start. I would give this place no stars if I could. My dog went in for an operation to remove a growth on his neck. When we picked him up it looked like they had cut his neck off. I have never in my like seen such a terrible job. Drainage took days to stop. Then a few days after that he started losing hair on his leg. Looked like mange. Took him back and found out they had burned him during the operation. Of course they tried to blame us at first until they admitted it was them. Miracle he is still alive. Reading all these five star ratings makes me laugh.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The docs are pretty great, but the front desk staff (two out of three) are rude and inefficient. I went with a five star vet center five minutes away. What an amazing difference already. Feel so much better about my pets care now...

I have been going to Briargate Veterinary Clinic for 15 years. I have always been very pleased with their services and wouldn't go anywhere else. They have gone above and beyond for my pets many many times. I recommend all of the vets there. They always give me all of the treatment options available and let me decide which one to do. My 10 year old dog, Jordan, is currently getting laser therapy for his arthritis. We are so excited because he had such good results that he is off of his Rimadyl and feeling so much better. I would highly recommend this clinic.

We have four dogs being cared for at this clinic, one of whom has Epilepsy. For a time we were worried that he would have to be put down because his seizures were constant and severe. However, Dr. Sundermann has been an amazing partner who has patiently and effectively worked with us to get his seizures under control. She combines superior knowledge with amazing compassion and care. I don't know what would have happened had we not found her, but at the very least, the quality of life for our much loved pet would not be where it is today. I can't express our thanks enough. I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic, and especially Dr. Sundermann, to anyone seeking quality, compassionate care for their pets.

I adopted a dog from PPHS last December. It was a rough go at first but all the staff and Vets at the clinic were very helpful and understanding. From tummy trouble, to extreme separation anxiety they helped me through it all. They listened and responded quickly and compationately to all my questions and concerns. We have been taking my sick cat here for almost a year and the vet kept on saying, oh it's just a sinus infection, oh it's just a sinus infection, keep giving him these expensive meds etc etc etc. Well we got tired of it and went to a different vet and we got the answer straight. Because of all this "sinus infection" bull, we figured out that my poor cat has a tumor in his nose and we have to put him down. If this vet didn't sugar coat this, we'd be able to get him the help he needed. But no, we got the sweet sugar coat that my sweet baby is fine, he just has a little cold. Bull. Never going here again.

We take our dogs here, they usually see Dr. Rothstein. He also put down one of our cats (who was dying of old age) and was very kind about it. Never had any problem whatsoever with him, vet techs or front-facing staff, always a good experience. It's clear that they all care about animals here. Usually it's not much wait to get the dog in the exam room, and if you have to wait it's because emergencies came up. Dr. Rothstein is scientific and rational, but doesn't talk down to you, instead explaining everything very well including uncertainties and risks.

Dr. Mooney is very nice. However, you can’t book an appointment in advance, you have to call at 7:30am the day you want to get in. After two days of trying this, I finally gave up & scheduled my cat with another vet. The last time I took my dog to see one of the other doctors, we sat in the exam room waiting for over a half hour. The doc finally showed up as I was gathering my things to leave.

We love Dr. Pedroni!! She’s awesome with our dog and really great with her. Every time we see her she’s nice and respectful. The antibiotics she prescribed to my dog are really helping her and I’m glad to see my puppy doing better. Thank you Dr. Pedroni!!

My husband and I want to thank Briargate Vet clinic for everything they have done for our pets. One of our Chihuahuas Mosby has never done well with vets due to seizures. He is a very high strung little guy and Dr. Flennikin has been amazing with him. The vet is extremely patient in allowing Mosby time to adjust to him before examining him. Our oldest Chihuahua Rio is very comfortable with Dr. Flennikin. We are not sure how much longer Rio will be with us but knowing that he is being well taken care of is crucial for us in making sure his last years are comfortable and happy. Our youngest pet Olive does very well going to the vet. We are blessed to have a happy and very healthy Great Dane. Olive loves Dr. Flennikin and we hope to find a great vet clinic just like Briargate Vet Clinic as we prepare to move to Texas. Then I've taken a day off from work for nothing and I have to waste another vacation day for the same thing.

We have been going here for about 15 years. We love Doctors Flenniken, Mooney, Rothstein, Sundermann, etc. the best test of any medical office is front office staff. From Melissa to all the others , we love them and could not imagine putting our pets life and health in anyone else’s care. I can’t compare cost because I’m committed to this clinic due to their care, compassion, and honesty regarding my pets. So I’ll pay what they charge and never look back. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive but I want the best. This is what we get. Thank you to VCA for all they have helped us with.

This place is the best vet i have ever been too. They have helped me in easy and very difficult problems with my pets. They seem to really want to help verse up charging for things unneeded. Dr. Flanagan helped us with our cat that ultimately needed to be put down, he did everything that could be done a d was honest with us. He recently help us with our rescue dog and again was amazing. AWFUL ~ WE HAD TO HAVE OUR DOG PUT DOWN, REQUESTED THE ASHES AND 9 DAYS LATER WHEN I CALLED TO SEE IF THEY WERE BACK, I WAS TOLD DUE TO HUMAN ERROR THEY HAD MARKED THE WRONG BOX AND WE WOULDN'T BE GETTING OUR DOGS ASHES BACK. My black lab Clementine had swelling on her face. This situation is never fun, and never cheap. We took her to Clearview Animal Hospital and paid $200 for inconclusive testing. We got referred here and Dr. Summerton got us in the next Monday, took good care of her, and did what she could to alleviate costs as much as possible. Compared to Clearview, I absolutely recommend VCA based on service and pricing.

This is a clinic, good for nail clippings, shots. If you need any medical work done, dont do it here. Our dog died within 36 hrs of being sedated and blood tested for a toe issue.Vet stuck needle in dogs neck and dog bled to death???? .Go to a vet hospital, not a clinic if ANY medical procedure needs to be done! Dont go through $$$ paying these folks and then your beloved, cherished, best friend is dead from a botched procedure. You can sue for malpractice, but pets arn't worth any $$$ to collect.

I've brought my dogs to Briargate Vet Clinic (BVC) since the mid 90's. In Sept, I had an experience which will cause me to take my 3 dogs to another vet clinic. The short story is, one of our dogs had a dime sized subcutaneous mast cell histamine tumor removed from the skin between the hind leg and stomach. Dr. Rothstien performed the surgery and we picked up our dog and took her home. After 8 days, the 5-6 inch incision was still oozing and bleeding. After looking at the stitching it was obvious the blanket stitch (one continuous thread) was not holding the edges together. We took her back to BVC and Dr. Mooney took her back into surgery to fix the issue. We picked up our dog later that day and when she went out to pee @ 02:00 am, the nylon stitches broke when she went she squatted to pee. My wife and I used dermabond to glue it back up until we could be her back to the clinic. We took her back in the next morning and Dr. Mooney sewed her back up again. Late afternoon, we picked her up and took her home. At 00:30 am, when she went out to pee and the stitches broke again. Since this happened on a Sunday and BVC is closed, we immediately took her to an ER. I explained to vet on call and removed the stitches that broke. The 4 stitches that I kpt showed that all broke on the knot. (In the three incidents above, at no time was any of the skin ripped due to too much pressure being put on the stitches.) Also, the gauge of the suture so thin I could see why it would give way. Needless to say, the ER vet closed the wound with heavier gauge sutures and replaced the drain "which was not placed correctly." Four days later we took our dog back in to BVC and they removed the drain put in by the ER clinic. I spoke with Dr. Rothstein about the incident over the next two days and BVC had come to the determination it did not heal properly, not because of the inferior stitching, but because there was still cancer in the wound. ... To make a long story short, I took our dog the a derma specialist. They took tissue samples inside the wound and there is no cancer. The incision has healed shut and looks good. I have given BVC an opportunity to do the right thing and they refuse to compensate for ER visit. It pains me to say that doing the right thing and standing behind their work no longer applies at this clinic. I will be taking my animals to another clinic.

The only vet I will trust with my tootsie! They’re always there to ensure she is taken care of even in emergencies! She is only two and had bald spots from skin allergies. They prescribed her apoquel and she is like a different dog! She doesn’t itch anymore, her bald spots are gone, and her coat is so soft and shiny! Dawn is the absolute best and so helpful with any and all questions since I first brought home tootsie! So thankful for Dawn, dr Mooney, this clinic, and apoquel!

BEST VET CARE ON THE PLANET !!! We have been going to this vet's office for almost 8 years and LOVE all the vets and front office staff...Special mention to Dr. Rothstein and Dr. Mooney..Dr.Rothstein took GREAT care in putting our cat Opie and chinchilla Baby to sleep..even stayed late to accomodate us. Briargate veterinary clinic is the only vet I will ever go to. My dog got hit by a car and then developed an immune disorder. The sweetest woman in the world, Dr. Mooney helped us through every step. I was to the point where I was calling her every single day. Dr. Mooney knows that my husband and I are newly weds just starting out our life and we don't have much money. She worked with us and helped our dog get back to his old self again. Our dog still suffers with his immune disorder but with a quick call to Dr. Mooney he is up and running in a couple days. Truly the best vet in town! Dr. Rothstein was one of the few vets we could find who could treat bunnies. He and his staff are so caring and compassionate. When our last bunny passed away and we went to pick up her body, they had wrapped her in a Peter Rabbit blanket. We cried even more but it was the sweetest gesture. We have cats now and plans for a dog in the future and we won't even consider going anywhere else.

This long overdue review is for my buddy Bosco, who actually thought visits to VCA were incredibly rewarding! From the greet, to the weigh in, he was having fun. Once inside the exam room, when he began to figure out it was a meetup with Dr. Flenniken, Bosco's fear of men and small enclosures would begin to shake his confidence. A ton of patience, a special Bosco voice, and half a jar of treats got us through several minor emergencies and exams over his nine years! To my knowledge, we were never charged extra, even though Bosco required it! Thank you!
