Everyone was very friendly and professional, and the entire staff from receptionists to techs to vets made me feel my babies were in trustworthy hands. I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone. More recently, one of our dogs got pancreatitis on a weekend. We brought him here in the middle of the night. He was very sick, was kept overnight, and was well on his way to recovery in the morning. We took him to our family vet from there and he made a full recovery. Our thanks as always to the entire staff.

Our dear dog Jenna was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in December of 2013. We were referred to SCVIM by our local vet. The staff there was so caring, from the receptionist to the veterinarians. We were able to schedule Jenna's surgery immediately and Dr. Morgan was so kind. Jenna required an overnight stay so after visiting her in recovery, we went home knowing she was in competent, compassionate care. The staff called us with updates and we also called them and they were happy to answer our questions. Once Jenna started her chemotherapy, Dr. Cannizzo and the staff cared for her. They made themselves available to answer all of our questions. Jenna was cared for and loved during her treatments. Unfortunately, Jenna's cancer spread to her lungs and liver but the staff supported us through this very difficult time. They were on the cutting edge of both traditional and some holistic cancer treatments. When Jenna passed away, the staff sent us flowers and we will be forever grateful for the care that she received there.

Very professional yet caring toward pets and owners. Superb facility!

Abby Fisher

Thank you for the information & guidance through our hard time with our Pitty. And for the special memory pieces that we will keep forever.

I have an elderly dog with lupus and coronary disease and we see Dr. Miles, who I love. It's a great comfort to know that we have a skillful and compassionate vet that I trust to help us through this last stage of my beloved dog's life. The docs and staff and SCVIM really go the extra mile. The facility is very clean and everyone is extremely helpful. My old girl is on a lot of medications and the clinic is happy to provide any I might want but are not pushy and have even referred me to places where I can get them cheaper. Really recommend.

Kristin Friel

Dr. Miles is absolutely amazing! He is the best with kidney issues. My baby wouldn't be around if it weren't for him.

Libby Chapman

Caring, friendly staff and great doctors

Theresa Baht

Great and caring staff...I don't think there's a better staff in Colorado. So glad I chose to bring my pup here when no one else could figure out what was hurting him.

Excellent care, great staff

All I can say is WOW!!!! The staff at this facility are AMAZING! Dr. Karin Cannizzo was so great, very knowledgeable, understanding, honest and was willing to take as much time as needed to answer whatever questions I had and to explain everything. The ICU staff was great, always willing to give me updates on my baby, answer my questions and did everything they could to make a really scary situation easier to handle. I would recommend this facility and staff 100 times over.

I took my dear friend Sheba in to see Dr. Sears. While the diagnosis was not what I had hoped for, Dr. Sears was very good about explaining what was happening and what the prognosis was. He was compassionate and thorough. The staff there was wonderful and they treated Sheba with respect and caring. I recommend this group for anyone interested in true caring and compassion.

They took care of our boy with the utmost care and compassion, they kept him over night so he could be more thoroughly examined by Internal Medicine. We lost him to cancer which was just unbearable but their kindness will always be remembered.

All vets and staff ROCKS!!! So very thankful for you all! Each and every one of you! Jayden and I are so extremely grateful for such knowledgeable caring people that not only care about your pets but the people that love them. I am so very blessed to have Jayden in the best care possible. I can't thank you ALL enough. You all have renewed my faith in the power of veterinary medicine and human compassion for both animals and humans. Bless you all from the bottom of our hearts, sincerely, Jayden and Janet.

Beth Bretton

Wonderful folks. Very loving. Took excellent care of our fur baby.

Bruce Purcell

Absolutely unethical. Quoted us $180 for an ultrasound, then billed over $500. We sentour son with the understanding that they would bill us. They then tried to sell him $1700 worth or unnecessary services. After he left, they called and browbeat him into immediate payment with his debit card rather than bill us as agreed. Filing complaints.

Kari Alls

Thank you for everything you do every single day. I work in the service industry at a 5 Star 5 Diamond Resort Hotel, been doing this for 30 years. Your staff has that level of service figured out for our fur babies. I can't thank your team of professionals enough for saving Oero's life. It took care, compassion and dedication through the toughest times. Glad that chapter is over, I can say we will miss your kindness. Dr. Hines, thank you for determination and patience to figure it all out, that is what makes you special and one of a kind. It was great to get to know you professionally and a little personally. Good luck with fishing this summer. Bye for now, I can say I hope we don't need you but know where to find you if we do. ❤

My dog has seen Dr Miles a few times for two diseases he has; Dr Miles has been GREAT! He is thoughtful with his diagnosis and I believe I owe my dog being alive today to him. He gave the right guidance on medicine and knew when to get more aggressive with treatment. I'm so thankful for the many, many times I've been able to have a follow-up call at no cost to check in on blood glucose testing I was doing at home. Dr Miles has called back after hours, even on Sunday, and has taken the time I needed to answer questions. The rest of the staff is great, too; very caring and very patient with my many calls. I'm very thankful to have Dr Miles and the staff at the office for my dog's care.

Our dog has had health issues over the last few years beginning with a turned stomach and most recently kidney issues. Dr. Hines and his staff could not be better treating her with care while explaining things to my wife and me and making us feel comfortable. This facility has saved our dog's life multiple times and we are forever greatful for their compassion.

Janet Palmer

Our experience with SCVI was very good Mick, our mastiff mix was ill with colon torsion, a serious problem indeed. He was taken care of and given options that helped make a decision that benefited Mick He's home and 100% improved. We highly recommend them as a emergency service

Shal Deluna

Very compassionate staff.

Rick Sinchak

I appreciate the time Dr. Hines spent explaining my dogs condition and options for treatment. It was rather detailed and he took the time to write up a review of what we discussed so I could inform my wife of what we discussed. He did this before I left. My dog stresses out in veterinary offices and Dr Hines was great at approaching my dog and putting her at ease. I am absolutely amazed at the quality of care and information Dr. Hines provided.

Jacki Burns

The clinic is outstanding, one of the cleanest I've seen. Dr. Miles treated my Westie for multiple food allergies and IBD. He is super and the nursing staff is also. I highly recommend these folks for your 4 legged buddies.

Jen and jordan ramirez

Great staff, genuine love for animals

Barb Anderson

Although we appreciated the great surgery and care while our dog Brecky was in the hospital, after receiving their $14,000, we felt very left alone and dumped after they gave us her cancer diagnosis. Not one call or follow-up once we were home. When we called, we were not contacted back by the doctors who worked on her. We are not impressed with the lack of bedside manner in after care and will not recommend this place.

Cindy Jaques

My dog had surgery earlier this week. I have two issues. One with their billing. I was overcharged more than $300 and had to make several phone calls to get it straighten out. Incompetent front office staff. My second issue - not one person from the clinic called to see how my dog was doing post-op. To me, that shows an uncaring staff. I will never bring my dog back to this clinic. If you want someone to care about your animal you won't either.

BJ Malila

Dr. Hines gave us 15 extra months with our Basset, Sadibug. One of the kindness, most caring people we have had the pleasure to meet. The staff is also outstanding - very helpful and understanding.

Sandy Vernon

We all love our dogs. Finding a place that can be trusted with our beloved animals is not always easy. This clinic is staffed with compassionate, knowledgeable, and thoughtful professionals. Dr. McReynolds is a brilliant physician, and I credit him with saving my German Shepherd from a painful surgery, and possible saving her life. I am so very grateful to him for his confidence and encouragement, and returning my dog back to great health. The waiting room is bright and comfortable and the exam rooms are user friendly (equipped with dog toys, which my dog appreciates). Everyone there is upbeat and helpful. It gives me peace of mind knowing that there is an emergency service attached to the clinic. I give this veterinary clinic and Dr. McReynolds my highest recommendation. I feel very fortunate to have found this valuable resource for my very special friend.

BAKL1978

Incredibly thorough and attentive. The entire staff was compassionate and caring. They listened and explained the diagnosis and treatment. They called frequently with updates as to Fred's condition and explained in detail how to continue care at home. I couldn't have been happier with their knowledge and professionalism.

Ken Barrett

This is simply the best place to take your ailing furry friend. The doctors and staff all sincerely care about the welfare of the animals under their care, and the expertise of the doctors there is of the highest and best quality. Dr. Hines has cared for two of our cats, and was able to save them both. Both cats are members of our family, and I'm happy to report that they are both doing extremely well, due to the care by Dr. Hines and the rest of the staff. If you love your animal, this is the place to bring them when they get sick.

Amanda Belkin

I came here from Denver after reading enough reviews to make me feel pretty confident this was going to be exactly what I needed when searching for answers for my senior cat. I couldn't be more relieved that I made the hour-long trek down with my kitty, who I think actually enjoyed the scenic drive :) We met with Dr. Cannizzo, and the experience from beginning to end was more than 5-star. The facility is very clean and inviting. The receptionists were helpful, nice, and accommodating (quickly provided me with a littler box and drinking bowl upon request). The tech listened to me intently as I described the very specific reason why I was there, and relayed the information accurately to the doctor, as far as I could tell. The doc was able to give me a very clear picture of what I was dealing with (a cat who has polycystic kidney disease and is showing signs of kidney insufficiencies) and was able to answer ALL my questions with confidence. Going in, I had so many unanswered questions and concerns, but she was able to help me understand the situation in its entirety and make suggestions for how I should move forward. I honestly can't say enough about my experience here, and I would go back without a doubt if the need ever arises. I have worked in multiple veterinary clinics, and I have moved enough to where I've had to take my pets to several different vets. I know what a good vet experience should look/feel like and how difficult it is to maintain top-notch services. This place hits the mark as far as I can tell (keeping in mind I've only had one consultation here). In my opinion - vets with experience under their belts who are up to date on the latest information are the gold standard, and that's what I believe this clinic has to offer. My sincerest gratitude to this clinic and their staff. I can't even describe how relieved I felt after just this one visit. (Also important to note - I'm a totally crazy pet owner who would donate my own kidney to my cat if I could. I always fear that I'll be treated like I'm crazy (because I sort of am), but at this clinic I felt I was treated with kindness and respect, and never felt like my neurotic question-asking was being judged in any way.) Also - after my appointment I had a question (shocker) and I got a thorough response from the nurse within 24 hours. My only disappointment is that they aren't closer to Denver, but alas, the drive was pretty and enjoyable - so I guess no real complaints even about that!

Sharon Cook

I took my 11 year old Yorkie to this hospital for a torn ACL. Instead of putting her through a surgery that may have been fatal, they worked with me to explain that she had a severe trachea problem that would prevent the regular procedure during surgery. I was so impressed that they would be so honest about her condition instead of the dollar signs! She is safely home with me and I am evaluating the information as to the progression of her healthcare.

Mile High Hustle

We are current patients with our Newfie-Poo who is seeing Dr. Canizzo for some issues related to what we suspect is IBD. We have been following the good Dr.'s course of treatment for three weeks and the results are so far so good. Something that we have spent thousands on in two years and in three weeks we have seen improvement with. I'm a believer...for now! The staff is very friendly and they are obvious animal lovers. This is the place to go if your companion needs a specialist.

Taylor carter

They have been great in helping me with my dog's cancer. They always make sure my boy is taken care of.

Leslie Sheley

I have been taking my dog to Dr. Hines for 4 years now as he had a heart issue and needed a yearly sonogram. The staff was always pleasant and very professional. And then I took my dog to the ER when he was sick and they were so good to him and put him in the hospital right away. I can’t say enough good things about all the staff and Dr. Miles who took care of Nemo and helped me make the hard decision in the end and the ER staff were so gracious and patient with us that night. You were all so good to Nemo and to us through the whole process and we can’t thank you enough.

Our story with SCVIM began 2 years ago this month (after a referral from my regular vet), when my oldest MinPin, Zeus, became very ill with what was later diagnosed as an immune-mediated disease. I was immediately impressed with the expert knowledge and uncommon care and compassion demonstrated by Dr. Brad Hines. As old age (or fate) would have it, Zeus has developed other unrelated health issues over the ensuing months, running the gamut from hypertension, mitral valve heart disease, chronic weight loss, and advanced inflammatory bowel disease, culminating in Zeus’ recent hospitalization for severe pancreatitis. Through each and every new health issue, Dr. Hines has been my anchor always reassuring me with his knowledge concerning each and every problem. His kindness and patience with my endless questions, whether they were during business hours or not, and his willingness to go beyond “the extra mile” to ensure a good outcome for Zeus and to alleviate my concerns, is appreciated more than I can say. And although Dr. Hines is our primary doctor at SCVIM, I have also had the pleasure of working with Dr. Chris McReynolds in the care of my cancer Pittie, Georgia. Once again, expert knowledge, care and compassion are the norm. I truly believe these traits are demonstrated by the entire staff at SCVIM, from the front desk ladies, to the nurses (a special shout out to Justine for her wonderful assistance to Dr. Hines in the ongoing care of Zeus), to the ICU hospital staff, to the amazing doctors. It is obvious to me that everyone at SCVIM truly cares about the pets and their families that come through their doors. They make you feel like family, and I certainly consider then as such. Would I go anywhere else for the care and treatment of my fur kids’ health issues? In a word, No. Five stars just doesn’t seem a high enough recommendation for this wonderful group of professionals.

Gerald Riley MS

They do high quality work. Left my dog for testing for entire day and she was treated well!

Arlene Duenckel

In the recent services provided our papillon Bouncer, excellent care was given. All staff from front desk, veterinarians, to ICU attendants were welcoming, prompt, courteous, caring, and compassionate to our pet and us as parents. It is clear this establishment loves our furry friends, and exemplifies it in every aspect of the quality care provided. The Duenckel Family Arlene, Bob, and Jacob

The team of professionals at SCVIM is so great -- from the front desk, to the veterinary technicians, Dr. McReynolds and Dr. Sears -- top notch. We highly recommend SCVIM.

Kelly Grossberg

My primary vet had done some tests and referred us to SCVIM for a confirmed diagnosis and treatment for my pup. We found out she has EPI, which is not totally uncommon but not easy to deal with long term - the doctors and technicians were great at explaining to me the lifelong management of the condition, the details and specifics, and most of all caring for my pup. She was extremely nervous and they comforted and calmed her the best they could. The only thing I wish they'd done was give me more information on the Pancrezyme we have to put on my pup's food - after research I did on my own, I found that mixing it in and incubating the powder is necessary, which the vet did not tell me. Overall, though, I couldn't be happier. Tuki is alive and doing well!

Michelle S

I love everyone at SCVIM! Dr. Miles is super attentive, genuinely cares about your pet and is happy to answer questions. He saved the life of my 17 year old best friend (cat). I will always cherish knowing the people here!

It goes without saying that preventative care is the most affordable insurance so take heed. An emergency vet will be unbelievably expensive. Someone wrote below that they were charged nearly three times above the estimate. Note: An ESTIMATE is NOT a QUOTE. You can expect at least a 25% markup for miscellaneous, overhead, and a measurement of lucrative entitlement. If you find emergency care cheaper, you are lucky. There is also no legal requirement (that I can find in the state of Colorado) of an itemized bill. Keep in mind these protections: "A contract will only be legally enforceable if it follows a stringent set of guidelines." One of which is "There is no misrepresentation in the contract If one party will lie or deliberately conceal a relevant information, a contract will be considered void due to misrepresentation." I believe this one protection would be worth pursuing in court if one feels compelled to fight the misrepresentation of the estimate as they may already know they're going to mark it up 25% and they may also count on you to not know that beforehand, and that you will not know that an estimate is not a quote. In our particular case, they would not or could not provide an itemized bill. Keep in mind an itemized bill is not "five syringes and miscellaneous supplies." That is an attempt to appease and a hope that the problem will go away. A business knows the price they paid for the unit of measure of every product. The product doesn't just appear out of nowhere. It is purchased from a business that shows the price per unit of measure whether that be box, can, package, each, or pair. At the very least, they could be honest about their mark-up and itemize their bill showing the mark-up. They could also be honest about the mark-up up front in the estimate. People know it's a place of emergency care with outrageous pricing. No need to misrepresent what you know you're going to stomach-punch them with at the end, taking advantage of their desperate situation. I wish I had a better remedy for the people I know are going to go through this like we did but unfortunately there are no other options in life for emergency care. If you're going to have a pet, save $20 into an account per month to have as your own insurance back-up because the industry is monopolized with price floors, their industry ethics will never cover pricing, and all will fall squarely on the shoulders of the desperate customer who unfortunately, at this particular place of emergency care, will not know that it does until after they have agreed to the lower price. Edit: I double-checked the address to ensure there was not more than one location with this name that we could have confused for proper review. While I understand that for the success and profit of your business you have to respond with 'something' to deflect any financial damage, it doesn't take away from the accuracy of our experience with your business or the guidance provided to future customers who may encounter the same, hence the 'review.'

Dr. Amelia Keith has been treating my fur baby (kitty) for an ongoing condition, and always treats us like we truly matter to her! She's wonderful! The environment is also quite nice.

Marcea Hyten

This is a wonderful clinic, with an excellent staff that is both incredibly knowledegable and compassionate. We have taken our animals there for years and have been very happy with the treatments and the level of expertise. I would wholeheartedly recommend SCVIM!

Debora Campanella

You could not want a better vet the Dr Cannizzo - she is brilliant and truly cares about the animals - I am so thankful for her help with several of my dogs.

Bonnie Dunlop

Dr. Karin Connizzo and her team truly had my dog Belle's best interest in mind. We were impressed immediately when she wanted to test Belle to determine whether surgery was best for her and didn't push a treatment on us. Dr. C came in on her day off just to read the pathologist report because of concern for Belle and our family. She and her nurses have always promptly returned phone calls. I felt like she was truly invested in my dog as an individual and truly cared about her. She was empathetic and was able to even bring some much needed humor to an otherwise devastating time in our lives. Although it's cancer, Belle is still thriving and it means a whole lot that there are other people out there that want the best for her as well.

Janava Koenes

Vickie DeKemper

Very knowledgeable and gave us all our options for a treatment plan but also knew what they could cut out to make it more affordable. All the staff was very professional, communicated every step of the way and showed kindness and compassion so we didn't feel like just another number. They definitely know what they are doing and your pet will be in good hands if you ever have to go there.

Sharon Mccomb

Absolutely the best place for veterinary needs. From the friendly and efficient front desk staff to the vet techs so skilled in handling animals to the outstanding Dr. Hines, my cat has received the best care available. Dr. Hines gives explanations that are easy to understand and always offers options. There's never any pressure to pursue one course over another. It's an hour drive for me from Canon City, but it's well worth it.

Kathy Webber

Our little guy had fallen sick so quickly. Dr. McReynolds provided a diagnosis and he had emergency surgery that day. Contracting a nasty bacterial infection he had to remain hospitalized for a week. That is when the true loving and caring nature of all of the hospital staff shown brightly. Upon one of our visits Tara in ICU had him propped on a pillow watching and listening to healing music/video on her IPad to encourage his healing. He is now home with us and doing well, playing, barking and wagging his tail. We are so grateful to the whole staff for their care and concern.

Jean Whelan

The entire staff at the hospital/clinic were totally helpful and caring. They treated Cosmo like she were their own pet. This goes for every member of the staff and doctors. Wendy and Rhonda were particularly helpful and understanding. The waiting area and the treatment rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would and will recommend Southern Colorado Vet Internal Medicine to my friends.

Johanna Lanter

They were very kind and knowledgeable

Ray Murray

I'm not a man who would usually do this and the outcome was very unpleasant for my family today, but I must say a few words of thankfulness to these fine people. I've been trying to put this all in perspective as we had to make the hard decision to put down our protector, family member and best friend today. I wish I had all the names of everybody but I don't have one. A very stressful day. The details are not important but one, we lost a family member. The staff and I mean every one of them were absolutely amazing. My family cannot thank you enough for letting us see our Raz out with comfort and time. It has been a stressful day but thank you all for giving him and my family comfort.

Pat Nielsen

Dropped off a lost dog. Staff were really friendly & knowledgeable.

Patty Dunnington

The staff and doctors are exceptional, caring and professional. Nutmeg was seen for intestinal surgery repair from a previous surgery and was down to 21 lbs. She was diagnosed by Dr MacReynolds and operated on by Dr. Morgan. Nutmeg is now weighing in at 28 lbs and back to good health, back to her old self and enjoying life. I do not believe she would be alive if she was not treated at this clinic. Thanks you so much.

Cara B

I've been here 3 times now. The staff is always friendly and goes above and beyond to help their clients. The veterinarians are the best of the best and take time to answer questions honestly and fully. I am grateful this practice is in Colorado Springs.

Falcon Queen

I have had to use this hospital many times for various animals with various conditions. NEVER have I felt like my pets have had anything less than the very best care. During one incident, not only did Dr. Brad Hines save my kitty’s life, he kept me "sane" throughout the entire process. Many times I was getting pep talks after hours from this amazing doctor. Without that I'm not sure I could have done what needed to be done. I have also had experiences with the other doctors and they are all compassionate and caring. But more importantly, they are so knowledgeable and current with veterinary medicine. Hopefully, anyone reading this never has to use this hospital, however, should your vet refer you, if there is any hope at all for your pet, this is where you will find it. The absolute BEST!!!

Linda Krusyna

Over the years I have had several dogs who had serious medical problems. These pets had the good fortune to have been treated by all four of these Veterinarians at one time or another. The medical skill, care given, compassion, and understanding of how much my dogs meant to me was truly overwhelming...from the gals at the front desk, the Vet Techs, and the Vets....these people really cared about my dogs and me. I couldn't have asked for any better care for my dogs. The bottom line is that yes, treatment is pricey...but these Vets are specialists, and my dogs have always deserved the BEST.

Vicki Gramm

We were on vacation, 1300 miles away, when our pet sitter sent us a video showing that our oldest Pit, Max, was sick. After originally going to Powers Pet Emergency, they transferred him to AECC and then here, where Dr Sears was his primary. Dr Sears definitely listened to us and our concerns and kept him there in ICU for a number of nights before being well enough to go home. He didn't stay well and was brought back. Within days, they had to do a surgery for a torn trachea. His heart and lungs stopped as soon as he went under. The way the staff kept us up-to-date, 3-4 times per day. How they loved on him and told us that he was one of most loveable dogs and one of the few in ICU so they could give him even more attention.....was very special to us. They didn't even want final payment and told us to wait until we got back home and after his ashes were back. Remarkable, kind, knowledgeable and trustworthy - I'd recommend this place to anyone. And have.

Donna Koehnke

Our experience at SCVIM has been totally positive. The entire staff is loving, caring, compassionate and committed to the work that they do. Our Benny was treated for skin cancer and it was very bad. Dr. Miles told us he had about 6 months to live. With the chemo treatments Benny had a wonderful extra year with us with only one or two bad days during the whole time. They take the time to explain everything carefully to you all the way along and they support you during your time there. They greet you with a smile and cheerful greeting as the days are winding down and that helps too. Now we are facing another round of chemo less than one year after losing Benny, with Amber. I know that she will receive the best possible care. There is no doubt in my mind and that brings me some comfort. There is no better place for your pet facing a serious illness and we think Dr. Miles is the best!

michael borbely

Absolutely the best......I'm actually having a hard time communicating how incredible my experiences with Dr Miles and staff have been. Very intelligent physicians, up to date treatment modalities, truly compassionate care and great communication. As long as I live in the area I will only bring my dogs to SCVIM. I will continue to recommend their services to every dog owner I meet.

LaDonna Hutton

We are so thankful for Dr. Hines. Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has been under his care for four years for a cardiac condition. With Dr. Hines' exceptional care, our dog is living out his life happily. Southern Colorado is lucky to have a Cardiologist Veterinarian in the region.

Beth Olkowski

I am so grateful to all of the staff at Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine, from the front reception, to the ICU nurses, to the wonderful Dr. Hines. My English Bulldog, Molly, was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA) and spent 4 days in their ICU. Dr. Hines and his staff are a balance of both knowledge and compassion, keeping us informed and equipped to make the best decisions for our dog's health and offering words of comfort on the days we felt overwhelmed. Molly requires ongoing treatment, making her a frequent visitor of SCVIM, where I feel like she's become part of their family as much as she is part of mine. I highly recommend Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine when it comes to getting the very best for your pet's health needs.

Our hearts are sadder today because of the loss of Hannah yesterday, but we are also gratefully to the ER staff, Dr. Sides and Dr. Hines for their efforts and respect they gave Hannah. Dr Hines helped us have 14 weeks with Hannah from the time of cancer diagnosis,so Thank You. God Bless Dr. Hines, Dr. Sides and the staff of this clinic with wonderful gifts of compassion and skills so please continually use these and help many more patients and families of your patients. You will never be forgotten in our family. Thank You again for taking wonderful care of our beloved Hannah!!!!! v

We’ve been coming to Southern Colorado Internal Medicine for a few years. All the staff are incredible and the veterinarians and surgeon there are the best!! Dr. Hines is amazing. I’ve never seen anyone take so much interest and make each and every patient and their owners feel important, like they really matter, and take care of them as if they were his own. I’m continually blown away by his incredible knack to correctly diagnose and take care of issues others may miss. This past week, we nearly lost our 12 year old Pom. He was suffering from a tumor that had grown on one of his adrenal glands. Dr. Hines correctly diagnosed him and the amazing surgeon, Dr. Michelle Morgan went after it and successfully removed it! That was only 2 days ago and we brought him home today! Along with many prayers and positivity, and the fabulous skills the people there posses, we had a very favorable outcome for our little guy! Don’t hesitate to take your pet to these folks, keeping in mind they are specialists, and you won’t be disappointed!

Dr. Hines and entire team provided outstanding care and treatment for our young dog during her terminal illness. They could not have been more compassionate with both us and our pet throughout the several month process. I'm sure all the vets are great but Dr. Hines is the best, in our opinion. He was also successful in saving another of our dogs several years ago and she has been very healthy for the last 6 years. We highly recommend this specialty clinic.

Yovonne Cole

The Dr's and staff here are amazing. My little guy was diagnosed with congestive heart failure over 2 years ago. I thought he only had months to live, but the care he has received has kept him not only with us, but still acting like he doesn't know he is sick. I would not trust his care to anyone else. They deserve more than 5 stars! Buster agrees!

David Ferrer

One of the worst vets I have been to. During today's appt. with Dr. Morgan, she said that I was told to bring my dog to her last October (3 months ago) because she still had cancer in her lymph system and that was a lie. For one Dr Morgan does not read or study the medical record before she enters the room. Dr. Morgan will lie through her teeth nonstop and try to make the pet owner look like the bad guy. It's clear that the treatment of my dog was going to be a lot of money and blaming the owner is how she does it. My dog had mast cell cancer on one lump and one lymph node according to the pathologist report. I would rather let my dog die at home before allowing this money hungry lying vet do harm to my dog. I repeat do not take your animal to Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine. A report was also sent to Dora.

Our dog needed an immediate ultrasound and professional advice. Dr. Hines and staff at Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine were exactly what we needed: care, expertise, knowledge. Within 1 hour, our questions were answered with thoroughness and great compassion. Our hearts and minds were at peace, finally understanding the cancer diagnosis. Our dog was treated with great dignity and care.

Dr. Cannizzo was able to help us have more time with my handsome boy Jake. Jake battled lymphoma for 10 months and he didn't mind going to the vets for his treatment, he was always treated well by Dr. Cannizzo and the staff. Thanks to the treatment we were able to have an extra 10 months of quality life to make more memories and to thank Jake for being such a great companion.

Dr Morgan and her entire staff are absolutely wonderful!! They have provided our Sophie (our shih tzu) with very professional and compassionate care. I would absolutely recommend for your pets surgical needs!!

Debbie Deming

Top facility and top surgeons for dogs (don't have cats or horses) from our experience

Kathleen Carter

Dr. McReynlolds was outstanding! He showed genuine concern for both Snickers and us. The box of dog toys is a nice touch as Snickers didn't even realize she was at the vets! The tests were performed in a very professional and caring manner and we were given the results within minutes, not days. We left feeling very confident in Dr. McReynolds' diagnosis and Snickers' prognosis. I truly feel the Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine saved her life! Thank you!!!!

Rick Atkins

After our initial visit and the doctor getting a second opinion, they didn't tell us our dog needed an emergency operation to save him. they allowed us to come back every second day to have fluid removed form his chest and denied any wrong doing.

Charlene Koroby

This is a wonderful place! Every person I met was kind and compassionate to me and my sweet kitty. I so appreciated Dr Sears' honesty and frank discussion about my cat's condition. He is a wonderful Vet. I highly recommend this place. They are great. Thanks for your help!

Rose Horton

Mr.C and the staff are totally amazing! They really know there business and they really care! One of my babies had a liver problem and the doctor's took very good care of him...they order his blood work and MRI ,a x-ray and kept him on a ivy for a couple of day's. Then he was ordered medications and came home... He improved and he's here today... God bless all of you for helping my baby... Thank you so so much

Mar 6, 2015 Angela Chavez,Colorado Springs I have been to this Clinic many times. The care is very professional and they don't push you into anything that is not necessary. It is a place you can get great care for your pets and walk out knowing that they have answered all your questions. We have had our little Mini Schnauzer there about three years ago, A Giant Schnauzer that had to have TPLO surgery, then a little Mini Schnauzer for heart problems. Then again had to have our Giant in again for thyroid cancer. This has been a great place to treat our pups. We walk out of there with all questions answered and know we have done the right thing for our dogs Love this Clinic!

My momma used Dr. Hines at SCVIM to help my friend Oscar for a same day appointment. Unfortunately, due to absolutely NO fault of Dr. Hines or the clinic, Oscar had to be euthanized but the care, concern and close supervision he received for the month he was in Dr. Hines' care was some of the best he had received anywhere. The services were reasonable in cost considering the urgent nature of his visits and all results were available, if not immediately, within a day or two. Follow ups were prompt and Dr. Hines and the entire staff treated Momma and Oscar like family. Momma cannot thank them enough for their kindness and excellent quality care. We cannot recommend SCVIM enough to anyone who needs an answer on a difficult diagnosis. Spend a few extra dollars and involve an expert in their field, you won't regret it. At least, we didn't. The staff here are amazing! When my baby girl was diagnosed with IMHA they swiftly put together a plan to save her. She had to stay there to receive round the clock care and a blood transfusion. They brought us back to her “room” she was staying in and constantly told us we were welcome to visit or call whenever we wanted. Every time I called (which was a lot) to check on her, they were always happy to speak with me and fill me in on my girl. They even cuddle with the animals as they know this is difficult for them too. It is evident that the staff truly loves animals and they help make a difficult time for all involved, better. I very much appreciated the daily phone call with Dr. Keith to update us on our girl’s condition. My husband and I will absolutely refer others here. Thank you for loving our baby and taking such great care of her!

Babu G

Vet was OK with my dog for initial endoscopy & follow through for 3 weeks while my baby was experiencing difficulties. My pup had not been the same since the procedure. 3 weeks after, the doctor did more testing. He felt my dog was getting better and was to prescribed a medicine forthe disorder discovered during the initial testing. He never called back after that third week(post testing). So I called and had to leave a message with his nurse, a week later, to find out what the next step was in medications. Another week and a half went by after my message and no further call from this vet. So test & examine but when it comes to the final step of giving him a medication that can help his disorder the doctor fell off the planet?????

Susan Johnson

If it were not for Dr. Hines and the staff at Southern Colorado Veterinary Hospital we would have lost our beloved Benjamin long ago. We are forever grateful that he has been there for us as well as Benjamin.

runrebecca

My dog escaped our yard and was hit by a car. We took him to SCVIM emergency room; they saw him immediately and their prompt attention and wonderful car saved my dog's life. The staff was professional & sympathetic; the care was excellent. I hope I never again have to take my dog to the ER, but if I do, I would absolutely go back to SCVIM.

Rose Bills

I can't thank you enough for all of your compassion, care and sympathy for Blazer. Dr Hines not only is a great doctor, but is a very caring person. He tried every thing he could to save Blazer, but he was just too ill.The ICU staff was wonderful along with everyone else. Thank You again for all you did. Rose and David Bills

There is nowhere you will feel more comfortable and encouraged than SCVIM! From the minute you walk in the door, you AND YOUR DOG are treated with nothing but love by the enthusiastic front desk staff, the caring nurses, and incredibly talented doctors! My dog is battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy and she is, believe it or not, at her happiest when visiting and after her visits to SCVIM, there is no better assurance for me that we have the BEST people to take care of her... and me! Thank you to everyone at Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine! :) Kriss and Kolt

More expensive than our regular vet.

Samantha M.

These vets are amazing, treat our dogs like their own and truly love what they are doing and have a great staff altogether. We haven't had a bad appointment with them and we have had to visit them a lot due to one dog's auto immune issues needing constant watch.

Aaron Razak

Great clinic and staff!

Michelle McDowell

Great office!

Kait Knight

Dr. Hines is amazing! The whole staff here is wonderful too. I would recommend Dr Hines in a heart beat, he goes above and beyond for all of his patients, he truly cares for each one and it shows.

Giampiero Sartori

To Our Vet & Our Dear Friend Dr Hines. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST VET! He truly cares about all pets. Our family would like to say THANK YOU TO YOU AND YOUR TEAM FOR THE CARE MAX RECEIVED! No words can say HOW GRATEFUL we are for the dedication and determination. AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR THE CARE YOU GAVE TO OUR MAX! You all are in our hearts. GIAMPIERO AND KIMBERLY

I have been taking one of my dogs here for a few years now. Each time we are there, I feel welcomed! The atmosphere is calm and everybody is so nice!

Addi Robinson

I brought my dog, Rocco, to the emergency clinic after he injured his back; he had lost control of his hind legs, bowels and bladder when he displaced a disk. As soon as I described the issue, the people in the emergency clinic brought me next door to Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine. Even though Dr. Hines was on his way out for the evening, he didn't hesitate to turn around and walk us into an exam room to get the issue figured out. He did X-rays and was very honest with me about Rocco's recovery chances. It is clear that they're really looking out for both pets and their owners. He could have easily said the issue required surgery, but instead he suggested a less invasive recovery method focused on rest at home, rebuilding muscle strength and pain management. I followed the instructions given, Rocco had a full recovery and has had no lapses since. Most importantly, he is back to his healthy, active & playful self! I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough!

Chris Volberding

Wonderful vet to help my puppy with heart problems

Tami Wandell

Amy Greene

Dr. Cannizzo and her assistant are wonderful. This was my first time going, and I was amazed at how much time they spent explaining the possible problems to me and reviewing my dog's medical records to make sure they didn't miss a thing. I also appreciated that they only ran the tests they felt were necessary to pinpoint the problem; I was expecting to walk away with a massive bill but was very pleasantly surprised.

Chris J C

Doc. Bangert is fantastic!

Carmen Reed

Like so many others, I wish I could rate SCVIM higher than 5 stars. We were referred by our primary vet to see Dr. Hines and follow up on concern about a heart murmur in our puppy. How very grateful we are! I simply can't say enough about the kindness and love of animals that showed in every staff member we dealt with. What made my heart soar and my stress over possible health issues decrease was seeing Dr. Hines drop to his knees the moment he walked into the exam room to tussle with Zelda, our 6 month old puppy. He was so very patient with my questions, didn't speak down to me, and was very candid, yet sensitive as he explained possible issues and procedures. Fortunately all tests came back clean and Zelda has been given the green light to run like the wind! I am so very pleased with the service we received both times we brought her there, the clear expectations for tests and care she would receive, and how I heard the results from Dr. Hines himself. We absolutely will not take our puppy anywhere than her regular vet or SCVIM and will not hesitate to recommend them, either.

The entire staff from the front desk to the surgeons and doctors are WORLD CLASS. They truly care 1000% about your pet as much as you do. They are so compassionate when you need it. I wish I could have my own surgery's done by Dr. Morgan. She is the most caring surgeon I have ever met - and met quite a few. Dr. Hines is so awesome with his sincere approach and has helped my family through tough issues. Yes, the place is pricey, but WORTH every penny.

Charles Foldes

Dr McReynolds and the staff here are wonderful. They treated our pets cancer with the best care and compassion. If your pet needs chemotherapy or needs top of the line care and equipment for internal medicine, you can rest assured, this is the place to go.

Pat Sweat

When my precious 10 year old yorkie, Mandy, was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012, I was very lucky to find Dr. Hines to handle her care and treatments. Dr. Hines went above and beyond to provide my yorkie with the best possible care as she battled her cancer for over a year. I don't know how I would have made it through the roller coaster ride of all of the ups and downs, successes and failures that are associated with the ugly battle against cancer, without the exceptional care Dr. Hines provided to my little Mandy and the support he provided to me. I have since moved out of the Colorado Springs area, but I make whatever trips are necessary to return to Dr. Hines for his help in treating my 14 1/2 year old yorkie, Amy, who has been struggling with kidney issues related to her advanced age. She has been doing much better under his care and treatment. I have had pets all of my life and have known and worked with many veterinarians for several decades. I can honestly state that Dr. Hines is an amazing veterinarian that cares very deeply for the pets entrusted to his care. He provides extraordinary care and service to his patients, but also to the families of the pets in his care. I hope I will have the great privilege and opportunity of working with Dr. Hines for many, many more years ahead for the care of my all of my precious pets!

Shanna Farmer

Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine is the most amazing vet's office. All of the doctors, nurses, and staff are absolutely incredible. Our sweet kitty O'Riley was treated by Dr. Heinz and Dr. Miles for a very serious heart condition; they gave us an extra year and a half with our boy. Even when he passed away Dr. Heinz (he was in charge of his care at the time) was the kindest vet and human being. I know that without SCVIM, we would have lost him much sooner. We continue to take our dog to see them for her heart condition and she is doing great. I cannot say enough amazing things about this office!

Amanda Blevins

Dr McReynolds and all of SCVIM treat me and my dogs very well even under the worst of circumstances. They are my go to vet when anything out of the ordinary comes up.

Diane Pisano

This place is the best! So compassionate and friendly. I just wish they could be my regular furry friend doctors!

Terri Culbreth

There are not enough words to say how grateful I am to Dr Hines and the staff at SCVIM. I lost my beloved cat (son) Pepper, after 19 years, just over a year ago. My vet referred us to him for Mega colon. Eventually he had to have surgery, in which Michelle Morgan did and saved his life. She is an amazing surgeon (and person) and the one I'd use if I ever needed one again. But Brad Hines is the most compassionate, caring and supportive Dr I have ever met. I will forever be grateful for the compassion and respect he gave to both Pepper and I over 3 years. Pepper came to him with mega colon and kidney disease and eventually developed heart problems where he had to have fluid removed from his lungs, frequently at times. Dr Hines was our vet (and became our friend) for 3 years through all of this. He gave Pepper a good quality of life. I cant begin to list all the things he did for us: always kept money costs as low as possible, suggested where to get prescriptions cheaper if that was an option, fit us in at odd hours and stayed late many times or saw us on the weekend if he was on call. All to keep Peppers stress, as well as mine low. No Dr I have ever known would go to such lengths to accommodate a patient. I will consider him a friend for life and find him if I ever need a specialty Vet.There is no way to repay what he did for us. We love him! And Trista, Dr. McReyonlds, Dr. Miles M, Tarah, and all the staff there just made us feel like family and gave us excellent care if Brad Hines was out. They continue to make me feel like family today. Thank you doesn't begin to express how grateful I am or how much love I feel for you guys, but thank you for giving us grace and dignity until he had to go. I miss him everyday.

Excellent. My dog was diagnosed with collapsed trachea n saw dr chris mcreynolds who was thorough n competent. Although it was his day off, he came back to do bronchoscopy on my dog n called me several times to report his condition. The services r not cheap but I m happy n satisfied that my doggie had the best help available.

Jim Coberly

Very excellent care from Dr. Brad Hines.

Frances Rehm

The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. McReynolds is obviously an animal lover, and this shows in the care and attention he gives to each patient, along with being very professional and experienced. I am so glad my local vet referred me there for my Snickers.

Bill Thornton

We have been using Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine for more than a year and are very happy with their service, expertise, and their compassion for our pets. Our Bernese Mountain Dog, Rudy, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Dr. Morgan worked with us to make an informed decision and then Dr. Miles worked with us to identify the post-operative treatment. We feel that we made the best decisions for our pet and ourselves and have been very pleased with their support and treatment. I recommend this facility to anyone that wants the best care for their pet.

Tesa

Although my time with the SCVIM team was brief, the compassion and care I received was a comfort during a very difficult time. Dr. Miles cared for my pet like he was one of his own, even though it was my first time being seen. My heart is broken for the loss of my dear boy, but I thank you for your kindness.

Stephen Goscin

We had a wonderful experience with Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine. The service was compassionate and competent. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any pet lover.

A great place with amazing people and care! We were referred to SCVIM by our veterinarian because our 16 year old Pomeranian, Lady was suffering from gall bladder issues and she needed advanced medical care. We were so grateful for the referral. Dr. Hines is Lady’s specialist and primary caregiver at SCVIM. We cannot be more thankful to Dr. Hines and all he has done for our family. Tough decisions have had to be made at times and he has been there for us all the way. Dr. Hines’ expertise and guidance have been key in Lady’s treatment, recovery and the wonderful quality of life she is experiencing today. We have the utmost respect and confidence in him and admire his gentle, honest and caring personality. We don’t know what we would do without him. Our experience with the entire staff at SCVIM (from the front desk to the assistants, doctors and everyone in between) has been wonderful. They are all very professional yet so friendly, kind, warm, helpful and super easy to work with. Their compassion and dedication is obvious and seen throughout the office. Our pets deserve the very best and SCVIM is just that. Thank you to everyone at SCVIM JC,Pat & Lady

My pet received the most professional care at this animal hospital. Our Maltese suddenly went into anaphylactic shock in the middle of the night for an unknown reason and we rushed her into the emergency care center. Kara McArdell was the DVM on that night who acted quickly and smartly to stabilize her. In the morning she was transferred to the care of Dr. Macon Miles at Southern CO Vet Internal Medicine. As she was still somewhat unstable, he was diligent in his actions to keep her blood pressure up while she was unable to do it on her own. He kept us up to date on everything that was happening, including prognosis and all charges before we were charged. He was very knowledgeable and had an excellent crate side manner. We are SO thankful for the staff at this hospital for doing their best to keep our Princess comfortable while she was going through this ordeal and making it possible for us to spend another Christmas with our beloved dog.

Catherine Vegvary

I can't say enough about the wonderful, caring, compassionate staff at Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine. From the time you walk in the door and until the time you leave and beyond, everyone is kind and thoughtful. Our "fur babies" mean the world to us-they're part of our family and when they're sick, you want the best possible care. Our cat, Sophie, is being treated by Dr. Hines and he cares for her as if she was his own. My husband and I feel very fortunate to have a facility of this caliber here in Colorado Springs.

A few weeks ago my 12 y.o. canine, Spirit, needed an emergency splenectomy for multiple tumors and I was directed to take her to this facility. She was quickly evaluated by exam, blood tests and ultrasound and a treatment plan was discussed including potential outcomes. Dr McReynolds answered all my questions and was in charge of her health before and after the recommended surgery. Estimated cost of treatment was explained prior to treatment as well as their financial payment options. I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff as well as their concern for my dog's well-being. The facility is clean and the surgical suite impressive. After surgery she was admitted to ICU where she was evaluated and monitored throughout her stay. I was able to talk to staff any time of the night or day. Her physician called and kept me informed of her condition and any changes in the treatment plan. We brought her home 2 days after surgery and she convelsced in familiar surroundings. The Dr. called me on Sunday his day off with the wonderful news her tumors were benign. She recovering very well now. We are greatful to Dr. McReynols, her surgeon, Dr. Morgan, and the staff for taking such good care of on very sick dog.

Judith Penney Janiec

Dr. McReynolds and Dr. Miles have helped us with several of our dogs on various occasions, and we're grateful that they are 3 miles away. We've had to use the emergency side with Zoë two times. Once for a liver condition and the other for Pancreatitis. Both times they saved our Zoë who is celebrating her 13th birthday as I write. She is a vocal Basset Hound, and when she's not vocalizing, we know something is not right. We just started seeing Dr. Bonnie Wright for our younger Basset last week, and so far she has worked miracles on Dexter. There's an amazing improvement, and we look forward to working with her to get Dexter back on track. The Colorado Springs community is very fortunate to have this kind of veterinary care available to us, and everyone from the front desk to check out are ver compassionate. Thank you very much.

Clarissa Dominguez

I cannot thank Dr. McReynolds and his staff enough for taking care of my little Mochi dog. They treated her like she was their own. She quite literally would not be alive today if it wasn't for them. Dr. McReynolds spent more time with us than I would have ever expected. He even came in on his day off to check on her. I never felt rushed or that my questions or concerns were left unheard or unanswered. Nurse Lauren was the best and came in and kissed my doggo on the face and told her she loved her whenever she was in the room. I always felt like she was being taken care of even when I wasn't there. If I was better with names, I would thank every one of you personally. My dog is my world and they gave her the best care I could have possibly asked for. Thank you so much!

Sherry and Bob MacDonald

I can't say enough about the wonderful, caring, compassionate staff at Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine. From the time you walk in the door and until the time you leave and beyond, everyone is kind and thoughtful. Dr. Hines was particularly kind and empathetic to our Cooper James, playing with and talking to him to make him comfortable before an exam, and to us. Dr. Morgan is an incredible surgeon and accomplished the impossible, and Dr. Hines was so kind to us keeping us updated throughout the surgery. We will never forget the generous sincerity paid to us. Dr. Fitzgerald was very kind that last day and helped us get through the agony of saying goodbye to our boy. Dr. Hines followed that up with his warmth and kindness. If another of our fur babies becomes ill we will return to this clinic.

Lynnell Linke

Having our veterinarian recommend an ultrasound for our Bella was pretty scary and nerve wracking for me. This was our first experience with this place, and I can't express my gratitude on the staff. Dr. Sears and his staff were absolutely terrific, I couldn't have asked for anyone better! Everyone is so friendly, caring and helpful, a big thanks again! (And so relieved on good news, nothing to worry about with our pup!).

Lindsay Harford

Excellent experience. No one in pueblo could tell me what was going on with my dog. Took my chihuahua here and the vet knew almost right away that he had Addisons disease

Lisa Fillo

Dr. Hines and his staff are highly knowledgeable, extremely professional and most importantly of all, compassionate. They are passionate about what they do!

Geri Iacobelli

I took my 10 yr. old Border Collie mix to Southern Colorado Vet Hosp., after being referred by his primary vet. with a dx of cardiomyopathy. Dr. McReynolds took a lot of time with us & explained everything. I was allowed in the room while they did the ultrasound of Oliver's heart. Dr. McReynolds, & all the staff that I met that day were very kind to both me & Oliver. Dr. Mc Reynolds not only addressed Oliver's heart issues but also picked up on some other areas that needed attention. I feel, that with their help, I will be able to keep Oliver alive & healthy for the longest time possible Unfortunately, I lost Oliver in October but it wasn't for lack of trying on Dr. Hines part, who took over for Dr. McReynolds. Oliver's heart was just too damaged & he passed quietly in the kind care of a local Vet. Thank-you Dr. Hines.. I have since taken one of my cats, Frankie, to Co. Vet & Dr. Hines for ultrasound. This time things turned out better as Frankie is on medication & is doing well. In July,, I will be taking another cat, Jasmine, in for an ultrasound of her bladder. Fingers crossed that things turn out well for her, too. We are blessed to have Colorado Veterinary Specialists in the Springs to back up our regular Vets. Couldn't ask for better care or expertise. TY

My dog is afraid at the Vet. From the moment we walked in, staff and dog owners alike treated us very well. My dog has her consistent routine at the vet and the staff was respectful that she needed to walk over to the scale and sit down before we did anything else. After surgery, the nurses in ICU bonded with her to the point that she was no longer fearful.

Daryl Boller

The vets and staff responded with real care and skill to our mama dog. She was in labor but she had stalled after several hours. The result was a C-section and 10 beautiful healthy baby Airedales. We truly appreciated all the care and concern shown by the staff and doctors.

Janny bobanny

If I could... I would say TEN STARS !!!! BEST. EVER !!!! Had an emergency... they certainly went beyond my expectations to tend to my little dog. BEST. STAFF !!!! Kind, caring, compassionate !!!! I cannot say enough of how fabulous the vet, Brad Hines, was, and the staff. Clean. Professional. Kind, Compassionate. And most of all..... very personal and makes you feel embraced in the quest to save your dog and its health. AMAZING !!!

Chief Darin

Great staff, saved my dog's life

amy fedde

Expensive great care ❤. Can't expect cheap for Emergency care. They may charge reasonable emergency rates this was my first time using emergency petcare. They were wonderful making Sally and me feel as comfortable as possible. Sally has recovered wonderfully.

Corine Z

It was extremely disheartening when I arrived at the front desk to find a young lady with her dog more interested in her phone then she was me and my pet as the client. She never put her dog down to help me. Then when my pet was in the back this girl had her tax person show up and go over her personal business in front of everyone. Does this place give them breaks? Why is she doing this up front? Then she proceeded to make a personal phone call in the hallway. They give excellent veterinary care but their front desk staff is very unprofessional. They need more training or new staff.

Morgan V

Eric Bast

The most professional, compassionate and caring staff. The Doctors and technicians as well as the office staff are very pet and owner oriented and very supportive of the owners during a stressful time.

Tyler Petty

I have no bad words to say about this place. Their level of care is exceptional and my dog only gets the best care here!

Courtney Jennings

Dr Keith and her staff are amazing. They treat my baby like their own and I feel comfortable leaving them in his hands when necessary. They have listened to all my concerns and I am very happy with everything they've done to help my "old man".

Terry Young

Very professional. Very accommodating. The wait in the examining room was quite long but we were regularly informed of the doctor's being very busy with emergency patients and surgeries. The nurses, admin staff, and all went out of their way to attend to our needs.

M Krieger

I absolutely can't say enough good things about this vet. Dr. Miles has been absolutely amazing with our dog's issues, the staff is wonderful, and the care is second to none. The ER staff is wonderful, and even the dental practice was so attentive to our concerns. In fact, my only complaint is that they only do specialty care and can't be our full time vet! Thank you so much for taking care of our pups!

Scott Allen

Caring staff

Gail Bernstein

All the staff, from the front desk to the nurses and veterinarians, are wonderfully competent and caring professionals. We couldn't have asked for better treatment and support throughout our cat's lengthy illness. They're terrific!

Tammie Stevens

I cannot recommend them highly enough. The doctors and staff are like family to us now. The gave us over a year with our beloved dog that we would not have otherwise had. They are not only knowledgeable but they really do care. I would be happy for anyone to contact me and I will tell them the story personally. I drove almost 2 hours for each visit and it was well worth it. You won't find anyone who will love your pet more.

Marion Meyer

We have used the Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine Clinic for several of our cats. The staff is extremely conscientious and helpful. The veterinarians are excellent and caring. You will get excellent care for your pet!

Christopher Liontas

We have had repeated outstanding experiences with this Vet group. From post bloat surgical care to oncology they have always been fantastic. Our German Sheppard had liver cancer, and needed Chemotherapy. This was administered by Dr Kieth and she was by far one of the most compassionate and through vets we have ever had. We Sasha (our Sheppard) had problems with the therapy, Dr Kieth was immediately responsive to our concerns and explained everything that was happening, and went over different treatments we could try. And we really appreciate the call we received from Dr Kieth after we lost our dog to the cancer. Just an outstanding facility with a wonderful medical staff

Paula Kavalec

We loved the clinic-Dr. McReynolds was very compassionate and caring. The clinic staff were very professional and caring and we would recommend this clinic for specialty care of your pet.

Rebecca Thompson-Schmidt

Was referred to the clinic and was very happy that they did not add tests that were not needed and were very direct on issues.

Samantha Dieguez

This past weekend our beloved dog fell super ill and needed emergency care over the weekend and continued to stay with internal medicine practice. I cant even begin to explain how amazing this clinic it and how welcoming every single person that works there has been. Being told your furbaby more than likely has lymphoma is heart breaking and put us in very low spirits. When we arrived at the emergency side we were welcomed and updated often on our wait time. Multiple times we were offered snacks or drinks. I have never been to a vet office that is accommodating. The entire staff was so caring and we knew our dog was in safe hands as we had to leave him there overnight for multiple days. The vet techs, ICU specialists, on staff vets, etc were absolutely wonderful to us and our sick pup. Dr. Karin Cannizzo took over as our dogs main doctor with her specialty in chemotherapy for dogs and cancer treatments. When we met with her and discussed many different types of treatments and what could be causing our dog to be so ill on top of the possible lymphoma, so made things easy to understand and spoke to us as normal people (i have been to other clinics where i felt like they thought i was either highly intelligent and knew all the medical terms or I was dumb and didnt understand anything at all). She made us feel more at ease as made decisions of the care for our dog. I could tell she actually cared for our dog not just seeing him as another animal and dollar signs. As we came back later for a visit at night she was just getting ready to leave but gave us brief update, since she had already left a vm on our phone we didnt hear yet. She was very informative throughout the entire process and we again felt so comfortable with our dog being there. Every visit we made to see him you could always feel the warmth from the entire staff. Cost wise, I am going to be honest I have no idea, because it was just lets get him well and to be honest i haven't even looked at the bills. In my eyes though the way everyone treated us and especially our baby, it doesn't matter anyways. I would suggest to anyone looking for just a general vet or need more of an internal specialist to check out this Veterinary facility, especially Dr. Karin Cannizzo.

Jackie Gaithe

We have had the opportunity to work with all of the veterinarians at Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine at one time or another. They are all very knowledgeable and caring. Currently, our kitty is in chemo treatment with Dr. McReynolds. This is our second pet to go through chemo with Dr. McReynolds. Our family thinks he is awesome! He is kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. He explains treatment in words that a lay person can understand. Dr. Hines was the vet who discovered our kitty's cancer and he went above and beyond to get Thomas into chemo and to follow up with us, even over the weekend, after surgery. He even picked up a prescription for us! We also think the staff is pretty special.

Jason Poole

An AMAZING PLACE! We came to Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine in an emergency. My lab Koa was in a serious breathing crises. The moment we arrived the staff was flying through the hospital to get Koa stabilized. The first time I saw Dr. Hines he was running to my dog! Dr. Hines and staff along with Dr. Morgan and her staff from the Surgery section of the specialty center stabilized Koa and quickly got him into surgery for Laryngeal Paralysis and saved his life. We were thoroughly informed of everything concerning Koa throughout the whole ordeal. Both doctors were truly caring and compassionate. Due to the extreme crisis Koa came in with he stayed in ICU following surgery. The ICU nurses and staff were AMAZING and so loving to Koa! Dr. Hines discovered that there was an underlying issue that Koa was suffering from and Koa sadly had to stay in ICU for 2 weeks. Dr. Hines diligently worked to figure out what was going on. The other doctors from the hospital joined in the mission. The ICU staff continued to take awesome care of my sweet buddy. Even though the surgery Dr. Morgan performed was a success, she continued to check on Koa simply out of the kindness of her heart. Not only were Dr. Hines, Dr. Morgan, and ICU staff great to Koa they were great to my family making sure we were doing ok. This place in AWESOME and it begins with the front desk. Everyone genuinely cares. I am so grateful for all they do.

All the folks at Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine are fabulous. They make you feel like part of the family. My hero is Dr. Hines. He has taken such good care of my kids over the years. Aurora is my heart dog and Dr. Hines makes sure she will be with me for years to come. Thank you so much for all SCVIM has done for us.

Dr. Miles and the entire staff took such great care of our Annie girl. I never felt rushed and Dr. Miles always took the time to answer my many questions. Highly recommend Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine to all pet owners.

SCVIM provides the absolute finest healthcare for our fur children. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Brad Hines, who extended the life of my cancer-stricken cat, LT, by five years, and who saved my cat, Mick, after he suffered acute kidney failure. Mickie is thriving today because of Dr. Hines' care and concern for him. He acted immediately and provided lifesaving care. His concern for the parents of sick animals is unparalleled, and his "bedside" manner is comforting during difficult times. I wish I had a doctor who cares as much as Dr. Hines. The entire staff is professional, caring, extremely knowledgable, and dedicated to the welfare of my animals. All the veterinarians on staff consult with each other, thus providing the absolute best care. I would never entrust the care of my cats to another practice. I'm hooked on SCVIM and highly recommend them to anyone desiring the best for your pets. And once again, Dr. Hines is the finest veterinarian ever!

Dr. McReynolds saw us right away even though we came in without any notice at the end of the day. Diagnosed and treated Jazz very quickly and he recovered right away. Couldn't be happier!
