Caring and professional staff. Very thorough and discussed estimates, payment options etc. Thank you so much for taking care of my pet.

Stacy Petty

Took my Chi to the neurology department here with a concern that she had a brain tumor. That possibility was ruled out, and there was a perceived diagnosis we received. Obviously I'm happy about the news, but overall, it was a positive experience. Everyone was professional, and treated us well. Thanks to Dr. Ko, and his team. I'm happy I have some answers, and now we can be on a path to minimizing symptoms.

Powers pet emergency took phenomenal care of my husky who had a nearly fatal case of parvovirus, giardia and worms. The staff worked diligently to save her life and now she's the best bundle of joy any husky parent could ask for, so happy that she was able to overcome her circumstance and I would highly urge fur parents to access the care here at powers pet emergency, undoubtedly the best here in town. The only downside is the cost related to emergency pet care not any option for in house financing. That of course is not the fault of the provider. Responsible pet owners plan and save for times like these.

It was a very busy evening for this vet office - the parking lot was full and we could hear multiple nurse/triage calls to the waiting room from our private exam room. We went because we had to put our beloved kitty to sleep. Her age, health conditions, and pain got to be too much. Despite how busy they were and how many severe cases they were handling, they treated us with such kindness and compassion. It took a little extra time for the whole process, but they let us stay with our kitty and take all the time we needed. I would go to them for ANY pet services in the future, even if it meant I had to wait for a while. They were busy for a reason - people know they will be loved and their pets will get amazing care. ❤️

We had to bring Darby here after we found out that her kidney's were failing. The staff was very polite and gave us all the information up front. There was a little bit of a wait time, but that is to be expected given it is an emergency hospital. We ended up leaving Darby there for 2 days to see if her kidney's would rebound, however that was not the case. The staff called us multiple times a day to give updates as she we receiving treatment. When it came time to make the tough decision of euthanasia, Powers Pet was professional and courteous. The doctor came in apologizing because they had to go around to all the staff to say bye. As tough as it was to say goodbye to our baby girl, the staff did an incredible job making sure she was comfortable in her final moments. If you have a pet in need of emergency care, I would highly recommend you bring them to Power's Pet Emergency.

I've been here 3 times before and everytime I haven't been impressed with how timely they are and their process. They take forever even when they're not busy. They come in and talk to you about what they want to do, and then they take another 30 minutes to an hour to come back and take the animal to do what they intend to do. They don't have a great process and they make you wait unnecessarily long. They seem to be all about the money and not about how effective they are. It should be like the vet, where they take the dog in they tell you what they want to do they tell you the price all at once take the dog and take care of it. Make people sign something at the very beginning stating that you agreed to pay for whatever services are rendered so it doesn't take 10 extra steps. I probably will never come back to this location and try another one.

Awesome facility and Dr. Ko was unbelievably thorough and caring! Would recommend him and this place to everybody who has issues with a beloved animal family member! Judy Sparks

This is a great place to take found pets. When my dog got out, I had made a report with them as soon as I realized he was gone. When he was brought in, I was notified very quickly and got there before the people who brought him in left. They also gave me one of the cheap leashes to take him out! Very friendly.

Lance Tressler

They were great and help me through a difacult time with the passing of my cat. I will not take any of my pets somewhere else. Thank You

This place is horrible. Not only is their front office staff rude, but they are about the money and not about saving animals! They wanted to do a bunch of testing to find out answers, which we can understand. But, they came back with the results and told us what his case was going to be. They said he wasn't going to make it, no matter what we do, and it'd be best to put him down. They said they could hospitalize him for one week and perform the surgery he needed IF he got better. This was estimated to cost more than $6,000. When we told them we wanted to take our dog home so we can consult with our vet, they tried every way possible to make us feel guilty for that decision. Well, we took him to our vet and he's under surgery. Our vet says this place diagnosed him as being more severe then he actually is. And, for a bonus, their hospitalization and surgery is a tenth of Powers Pet Emergency's cost. Never, ever will we go to this emergency hospital. They will not even try to save your pets life, so do yourself a favor and go to ANY OTHER hospital if you want your pet to live.

Shari Tron Pukanecz

Beautiful facility! Caring compassionate staff. Considering the number of emergencies they deal with, they are always attentive professional and provide top notch care for my pets. Highly recommend Powers Pet Emergency.

***BEWARE**** Do Not go here.... The front desk staff is a complete joke. The old fat woman had the audacity to scream at me and tell me I wasn't a good pet owner because I was 60 dollars short of paying my bill. I came in there for an EMERGENCY I was lucky to bring my purse. I even called ahead and told them I may not be able to pay the whole bill and they said...."Oh, that's ok we give you 30 days to pay in full". So I rushed my cat up there peeing blood. It took them almost an hour to see her and then they wanted me to sign up for care credit and the told me it would run a soft credit check so I did and seconds later Credit Karma notified me that I had a hard hit on my record and they totally lied to me. I mean the reviews speak for themselves. People with money are treated like GOLD but people that have real emergencies, haha well you can expect to be lied to and your pet almost die. After the way they let that woman talk to me and scream at me I was sure they would let her go but she is still there. Go ahead OWNER tell everyone how you pride yourself on Customer Service and blah blah and how you want me to call you regarding my review blah blah but don't bother. This review stays up and in all my pet training classes and everything I do I will make sure to let people know how you treat your so-called Customers.

They were amazing. We showed up last minute to ask for a sedative to help my cat relax before her flight and everyone was so extremely kind and helpful. A few days after the flight, the vet who met with us, Amber, actually took the time to call to check in with my fur baby. Thank you so much for helping us!

I honestly can't say enough about this clinic. My dog OD'd while we were on Vacation (26 Dec 2018) and our dog sitters took her to the ER. And they did everything in their power to save her life. They kept me consistantly informed of every step they took and kept things very realistic. They knew their limitations and when it came down to it, we needed to transport her to CSU. The ER arranged everything for the transport. And continued to keep me informed. Our dog survived and a month after all this, I brought her to the ER so they could see her as the dog she is. The staff were so touched and thrilled. The love and the care they provided, I have no doubt in my mind that Tollie would not have survived if they didn't jump on everything like they did. On top of all that, keep me informed and feeling co fident that she was in good hands. I have taken several of our dogs to them. Before Tollies OD, we had brought one of our dogs who was dying, and they gave us all the time we needed with him. I have so much appreciation for them (you guys need to move a few blocks further south).

Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I have made several trips here for various situations. However, every visit the staff here has never let us down. They are incredibly welcoming and professional. From finding strays in critical condition to late night questions about care for our fur babies at home they have always been our go to since the first time we walked through their doors. They truly are amazing.

Sean Wallace

My wife took a 3 month old kitten in that was not doing to well, they rushed her to the back right away and starting to blood work without talking or discussing anything for any reason and what they were looking for, and a little rude to my wife asking her how would she handle it and do the work in front of my daughter who's the kitten belongs to. Almost a 400$ bill later after the kitten passed away there and still no reason or the results of why for the blood work, gee a little more consideration of the passing of a kitten would be nice instead of a paw print, which was nice, but still needs a little more compassion and less rudeness.

Desiree Sipult

Thank you for being there to help us with Carlito! He is our baby and you treated him and us with understanding and compassion. We greatly appreciate you!

Our pet survived (condensed due to character limit) The staff and doctors saved our puppies life, of that I am certain. She came to them underweight and with a very serious viral infection. Thanks to their efforts she has fully recovered. With that being said we will not be returning to this ER. In our experience they made several errors and miss-communicated with us. At the time we went in (a weekend afternoon when they are busiest) the doctor explained the treatment and said she would give us some time to think about the options and return. She never returned but sent a nurse in her place. I'm in no way discounting the knowledge of the nurse, she took her time and explained the treatment and associated costs with us answering all of our questions. To me, professionally the right thing for the doctor to do would have been to come in with the nurse and explain that she was very busy and that the nurse would be filling in for her. The treatment: because the infection was serious there was a $500 miscellaneous charge built into the treatment plan and as it was explained to us that $500 existed for the doctors/staff to be able to take immediate action should anything happen and we as the owners could not be contacted. It made perfect sense to us since our pup was receiving 24 hour overnight care and we could not stay up all night monitoring our phone for news. Communication: The doctor told us we could expect two updates a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. One evening it was getting late so we decided to call the ER and requested an update since we still had not received one, the staff member who answered the phone told us the doctors were in the middle of changing between day and night shift and that they would call us back. We never received a call back. The following morning around 10am we received a call from the doctor informing us that our pup was not getting as well as she would like and that she was calling to obtain our permission to possibly insert a gastrointestinal tube into our puppies stomach so that she could get nutrients. We gave our verbal consent over the phone and asked since our pup wasn't doing great if we could expect a further update in 3-6 hrs. At this point the doctor snapped at us and said “I have x number of patients I don't have time to call you every 3 hours”. Later that evening we received another phone call informing us that our pups condition had not improved and that the staff would like our permission to possibly insert a tube into our puppies stomach, we again gave the staff our verbal consent to insert the tube. The next morning we wake up to a missed call and voice mail from the ER that came at about midnight stating out puppies condition is “much much worse” and that they would like to insert a tube into her. We called them back and at this time the ER informs us that in order to insert a tube into our puppy they require written consent. This is the first time in now over 2 days of communicating with the ER that they inform us written consent is required. After placing the tube our pup begins to improve. The following day we phoned the ER to speak with the doctor as to why there was an almost 12 hour delay in our puppies treatment due to the verbal/written consent miss-communication. At this point she became very defensive. We drove to the ER to speak with the manager and explain our frustration and concerns. $500 misc. charge: the way it was explained to us they should have used this to place a tube in our pup as soon as they could not get in contact with us. Verbal vs written consent: We gave verbal consent twice in the same day and explained at the time of selecting the treatment plan that we wanted our puppy to get better whatever it took. At no point in the 2 days prior and numerous conversations that we had with the ER staff and doctors did they ever once mention written consent would be needed.

Dr Ko was absolutely incredible. He took the time to read through my dogs chart the day before her appointment and called to give me some homework before coming to see him. I had been to see other specialists and spent around $2,000 already trying to figure out what was going on but got no where. Just by reading through her chart he had a tentative diagnosis which ended up being confirmed by genetic testing. He spent 2 hours going over everything with me in great detail and really took the time to evaluate my lab puppy. He has great patient care and was very professional. The best doctor of any kind I have come across in a long time!

Betty Turner

Awesome!! My dog swallowed a avocado seed. I was so scared , they induced vomiting came right up and we were out the door. Erin and the lady at the front (didn't catch her name ) were so amazing . Thank you again ladies ❤

Sarah Brown

This place is amazing. Wonderful caring staff and doctors. I have been here twice now for emergencies and each time the doctors and staff were very friendly and took the time to explain things thoroughly. Hopefully my dog will have no more emergencies but if so this would be the place I would come to.

Allen Bender

Been there a few times and unfortunately today was to put my beloved kitty Rascal down and they were awesome. Professional and compassionate. Thank you for making this hard decision a little easier.

SAVED MY DOGS LIFE! My 10 year old dog was transferred here from another ER with seizures and unable to walk. Within 10 minutes they had him in the back administering medicine and doing an exam. They set up and appt to meet with the neurologist Dr. Ko in the morning. Dr. Ko is by far the best doctor I’ve ever seen (including people doctors). He called me by 8:00 the next morning and let me know what he thought and the different course of treatments we could try. He was so compassionate and personable and I felt like he really cared for my dog and didn’t see him as another number. My dog stayed here for 2 days until he was stable enough to come home and continue recovering. I probably called 6 times while he was there just to check on him and never felt like I was being an inconvenience, and I got a full update on my baby every time. When I brought him in I really didn’t think he was going to make it through the night. He is now at home and almost back to himself! Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s emergency care and with Dr. Ko’s knowledge it is absolutely worth every penny. Every person I encountered during my dogs stay here was phenomenal. Thank you so much for bringing my baby back and saving his life! I will recommend this place to anyone looking for emergency care or a pet neurologist. Hopefully I never have to see them again other than the 2 week checkup, but if I have another emergency this is the place I will be going.

I see many good comments and a few not so good. Many of the not so good seem to be based on wait times and financial. I personally broke a hip and waited 6 hours to be treated, yep me a human. My cat Jaspurr broke bone bones in one of his hind legs. It was nine o’clock at night and I ran him into the clinic. They took him right away and administered pain meds before even getting my information. At that point they didn’t know if I had a penny to my name. They took radiographs right away as well. An admin came in and offered me some pricing prior to the radiographs being read and offered some choices. Amputation was one but they also told me e vet may refuse to amputate, he would always rather save a leg if he could. The vet came into see me within an hour of walking in the door and informed me Jaspurr was resting comfortably as possible and she then showed me the radiographs and explained that surgery would be required to fix the fractures. The admin came in with a revised quote now that surgery was required. While the price seem high, $2500 for surgery plus approximately $300 for the stabilization care that evening. It was ex-Lainey the cost would cover all follow ups, physical therapy if needed and any complications that may arise as long as the complications didn’t occur from my negligence, like I let him jump off a counter. The surgery was explained as well as expected after care. Surgery was scheduled for the next morning and as soon as it was done the vet called me to report on his status. I was able to take him home that evening. He did have a complication where his break slipped a tiny fraction and I took him back. No extra charge. The next day his cast came off, no extra charge. All in all I made three extra visits not included in aftercare that I wasn’t given any additional charges for. It has now been a year and my Jaspurr is running and jumping and acting as if nothing happened. Everyone there was kind and acted to me as if their only concerned was my cat and all talked about what a great cat he was. While pricing may seem high I can tell you that when I first adopted Jaspurr he had pneumonia and I took him to my regular vet who isn’t any higher than other primary care vets, in fact lower than most. My bill for one exam, xrays and medicine and one follow up was almost $500. So in comparison to the treatmeant received I don’t feel the pricing was out of line with other vets and clinics. Yes it’s a lot of money but if we have pets we must be prepared, there is insurance available at options. I used go fund me to help offset the price. All in all the care was too notch, the staff was great, not rude and very compassionate. I honestly would have thought my Jaspurr was the onlympatient there the way I was treated if I had seen other people come and go while I was there.

We had a lot of issues with this place the staff will tell you whatever and charge you whatever but thank God we got a chance to speak to The practice manager Toufic he handled every perfectly for us

This is a pet emergency room - most people don’t seem to realize that! The staff is competent and friendly and they do the beat they can. Some night are very busy and they triage patients which means potentially long wait times for those patients with no immediately life threatening conditions. They perform emergency surgeries, x- rays and care. This place is doing what a human ER does - they will attempt to keep your pet alive and treat the most urgent conditions until you can take it to your vet for further diagnostic and care and I am grateful for their services! Please pet parents ... do understand that everyone is stressed when a loved pet is gravely ill but ... don’t take your frustrations out on the staff !I witnessed many people being outright nasty to the staff due to wait times ! I found everyone extremely professional, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile ! They had me leave my dog with a non life threatening injury in their care overnight so I did not have to wait, they called when treatment was finished and I received my dog back in good condition and not overly stressed! They gave me an update when I called - Thank you!

Mary Wells

They have a terrible system. Staff said a 3 hour wait on a Sunday is typical, yet they still don’t hire enough staff to handle demand. They won’t let you put your name in & come back or put your name in when you call. They won’t let you leave them. They don’t work with you at all. They could call names & if you’re not there, skip you. There is no excuse for making people sit in their waiting area for hours. We have options & they obviously aren’t organized or really want your business. Ended up leaving & going to Animal ER care, which was like night & day. Extremely friendly staff, offered us drinks & snacks while we waited. Short wait. Enough staff, professional & organized.

Daniel Reeves

Needed help with my black lab and they helped out immediately. Low cost, great service, everyone was very nice and caring. They even offered to give the ball dumb dumb swallowed back. Joking of course.

Paul Broussard

Saved our dogs life. I am certain that if he had gone to any other vet he would not be here. We had 2 amazing doctors and many nurses tending to him for 3 days. If I ever have a question I call and they give me advice as his condition is still on going but he is definitely improved. They have also worked with our primary doctor really well. Their knowledge is extensive.

I was kind of disappointed in the lack of an exam that they gave my dog, & trying to charge me $400 right off the bat, but the staff was super friendly & we were in & out fairly quick.

Stephanie Klesser

My dog was taken to powers emergency pet clinic by the kennel she had been staying at... there had been an accident involving my other dog, and her eye needed to be removed (was apparently hanging out of the socket... I didn’t see it). They charged me almost 1000 dollars for the emergency surgery... months later the eye socket kept filling up with fluid (this happened a couple times). Her regular vet had to do a second surgery to remove “gland material” that the clinic had left in... what a waste. I would NEVER take my pet to this place.

Kim Mccollum

Staff was very friendly when checking in. Got into exam room right away. Waited over an hour in exam room for doctor. Once doctor came in, did a rushed exam and ordered x rays. When the assistant finally came in with the estimate, it was going to be 300.00 for the one x Ray and exam. When I informed the assistant I couldn't afford that, the ENTIRE attitude changed on their part. They suddenly didn't care about the pain my dog was in or that he refused to put any weight on his front leg. The staff became very rude and was very quick to draw up the discharge paperwork. They offered no help at all or referrals to outside vets. All in all, I was EXTREMELY hurt and disgusted by the treatment of the staff. They really DO NOT care as much for the patients as they do about the money you will pay if you choose their facility. Worst vet facility I have ever been to!

Trevor Skibinski

Took care of my son without a single problem. They made special care to make a already hard situation easier.

John Humphries

They capitalize on you not being able to go anywhere else. They wanted $540 to put a few stitches in my dog. They then offered to bandage her for $210. All of these were estimated and not set prices which means they were free to go up on the price. Not a place to go if you can avoid it. Just so you know there was no reason they couldn't use dermabond and save the hassle of anesthetic. They're in it for the money and not the care of animals. But that's on them. Mind you it took 2 hours to get into a room then another half hour to see a nurse. Then another 15 minutes for the vet. All in all a waste of three hours and the $75 office fee.

Karen Brooks

Our little Rat Terrier, Amos, had a seizure. It was truly terrifying. We were ready to say goodbye, hoping that he would just pass gently into the night. It was a Saturday, so we couldn't go to his regular vet. We had to wait a couple of hours but it IS an ER and we were patient. They treated us with respect and Amos with care and gentleness. I had read the negative reviews but there were so many positive that we decided to take him there. Keep in mind when reading reviews about medical care that it is a highly emotionally charged area. I mean, they are trying to save your baby's life and if they can`t, well, most people can't see that they did their best. I was upfront and told them that money was kind of an issue and was told that we could take Amos home, see his regular doc on Monday and the lab work would be way less expensive. I appreciated their candor and understanding. It ended up saving me over $200. We thought we would lose him but he is recovering and acting more like himself. I have no complaints... except, get some real half n half for the coffee. That non-dairy creamer is pure poison.

I had to bring my sweet baby boy, Smokey, here on Christmas Eve. I was so thankful Uintah Pet Emergency was even open on Christmas Eve. Smokey had been throwing up several times a day for 3 days, sometimes seemingly getting better, but then regressing and had reached the point where he was only throwing up clear foamy liquids, and he had stopped eating and drinking anything. I was in a complete panic. And to make matters worse, we live in Woodland Park, which means driving down through a snowy mountain pass to Colorado Springs with a very sick cat. The doctor on duty was thankfully a cat person and took such excellent care of Smokey. She ran the right tests and ensured they didn't jump to any rash conclusions. She told me the possibilities and never tried to force me to agree to any unnecessary tests or procedures. I was in such a panic, I probably would have spent whatever it took to save his life. Smokey adopted us a few years ago as an abandoned and stray Russian Blue about 2 years old during a very rare extreme cold spell in San Antonio, TX. Seriously. Every time we would open our front door while the temp outside was in the low 20s, he would run inside our house like he had lived there all of his two years of life. I gave up putting him outside after several tries. We had already lived in our house for more than 4 years, so he could not have possibly lived there before since the vet said he was no older than 2 based upon his teeth. We even took him to San Antonio Animal Care shelter and tried everything we could to find an owner. He was already chipped, but the owners had failed to register his chip! San Antonio Animal Care Services was listed in the chip registry as the current owners, and they had no record of his adoptees! So, Smokey became our forever kitty. Anyway, turns out he has/had pancreatitis! He was transferred on Christamas Eve to Powers Pet Emergency care and they confirmed the diagnosis. They stabilized him and infused him with fluids for the next 18 hours and got him started on a treatment regime and let him come home. So much excellent care, and now Smokey is back to eating normal and drinking water again. And he has not thrown up once since he came back home. He is getting better every day! My boy is back!!!

Lynn Langvardt

Talk about price gouging! My male cat got a cold and we couldn’t get him in until Monday. So, my husband took him in to get checked. They checked him and ran blood tests with the result being he is fine, mild cold and AT LEAST $500.00 (low end)! Should have let my lifetime cat be sick! That was outrageous! Never again. Will let my animals stay sick!

Elizabeth Talerico

Excellent customer service and care. My cat ultimately had to be put down, but everyone was very caring and loving during the entire process. We were able to have lots of time with our kitty before the procedure as well as after. Thank you to everyone at Powers Pet Emergency for your tender and kind hearts during this difficult time in our lives.

Taylor Potyrala

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. But the place was very dirty. Floors were dirty. The "Moarning room" had poopy dog prints on the floor.. and the kids toy corner is disgusting. The floor mats are practically brown, caked in old drool and mud. As an adult, I barely wanted to touch the toys. So gross.

Risa Kunau

Everyone was super friendly and courteous. My puppy seemed relaxed and safe when she had to stay over night. Although cost was not an issue for me, it seemed like they were VERY willing to work with us on options for her care if it were. The office and rooms were clean and well kept. While they are not my primary vet, they are absolutely my first and only choice in emergency pet care. The front desk lady, Kimberly, and Vet Assistant, Erin ( i believe), were so friendly and it was greatly appreciated. The Dr. we saw was very knowledgeable and willing to answer our questions even though several other emergencies came in while we were there. OUTSTANDING SERVICE & CARE

Joshua Reents

My dog had a surgery at another veterinarian and they did the surgery wrong. Powers pet emergency did the surgery over and nursed him back to health. They gave him full attention for two weeks until he pulled through. The staff actually cared about the well being of my pet. I would highly recommend them especially Dr. Price for any pet emergencies.

Greg Landis

They won't even quote a price, suggesting they make it up each time. How xan you not have a ballpark of something you do all day. Any normal vet or human dr can do that. Geez

Jessica Ramirez

I cannot thank the staff enough for helping me through one of the most difficult times of my life. I was devastated because my Pomeranian was having countless seizures overnight, and was going to have to be put down. The minute I walked through the door I received nothing but compassion and kindness from the girl at the front desk. Even though I was extremely upset, she did everything she could to provide the best visit possible. The doctor who assisted us was also fantastic. Her kindness and sensitivity to the issue made the process much easier. To the front desk girl and the vet that helped out, thank you so much for everything. I know it may not have seemed like it (due to the fact that I was extremely upset), but all of your help meant so much to my husband and I. I cannot thank you enough, and will definitely be returning in the future.

Jan Jones

The best veterinary service in the Springs! The staff is very competent, friendly, and their integrity is golden! They are professional and give quality care at a fair price. We will always bring our dogs to this facility for emergency or specialty care. I recommend with total confidence and trust Dr. Wilwerding and his staff. A+++

Heather Jones

Mu almost 19 Year old cat who had been steadily declining over the last year had a seizure last night and she did not recover. I called this place because our usual vet was closed (8pm on Saturday). When we got there, my cat seemed to really be suffering. It was heartbreaking to watch. I explained that she was advanced in age and I really didn’t want to subject her to a bunch of tests right at the end of her life. They took one look at her and agreed. We chose to euthanize her. The staff was compassionate to the situation and didn’t push for a ton of tests and diagnostics. My cat died in my arms comfortable.

Beltone - Colorado Springs

My cat went in labor and the plan we had set up went out the window The staff was amazing and went above and beyond to make me feel less stressed and walked me through everything that was going on and what was going to happen throughout the whole delivery process. Thank you

George H

Amazing! They truly care about your pets. They are friendly and keep you updated. They even call after a couple days to check on how your pet is doing. I've also used them to check the microchips in lost dogs I've found. They do a great job of contacting the owners and returning them quickly.

Rob Whiteside

Doctor, very nice.. Staff seemed nice. Very long wait which was to be expected with soo many people standing around chatting.. Went in because my great dane was having some stomach type issues. Nurse talked down to us as if we were dumb. Specifically speaking about baby asprin. I would have a talk or re iterate the importance of customer service. Not act like you have more knowledge than our vet with an actual degree. Then to watch a woman want to pick a fight with my wife. We were there for my dog not for the staff to talk down to us. She ended with well I guess they do things differently at other vets. All while I found creditable evidence against what she said. Maybe have her listen to hear not to respond. Very upset. Won't be back here ever! Then they tried to charge us for an x-ray.. When they charge for sets of x-rays. The doctor put an end to that. The doctor keeps you in business. I would have a serious talk with my staff about there attitude and how they are perceived by guests.

Betty Martin

I took my baby twice, once during the day and once in the middle of the night. The care was superb no matter the hour. They are reasonable, compassionate and dedicated to the animal's welfare. Prices are higher than normal day veterinarian, but the care is top notch and the service is like a 5 stars hotel.

Beautiful state of the art equipped facility and the staff here are compassionate, knowledgeable and partner with you to determine the best care plan for your furbaby and budget. Updated my review to 5 stars-stellar follow up by management after my first review. Within hours of me posting my initial review giving 4 stars because I felt I overpaid for medication they researched and found inventory logged the medication incorrectly and processed an immediate refund request. Tofic is the Manager and since I was still worried about my furbaby took time to even give me some additional pointers for my home care plan. I will use and refer them 100% of the time. My Vet also highly recommended Pet Powers as they have all you need in one onsite stop. ORIGINAL POST My worse nightmare happened this morning at 4:45am my 10 lb Cockapoo woke up unable to breathe and was doing a choking like maneuver; she is senior (11 yo) so I thought this was it and was in a complete mess. I frantically called Powers Pet Emergency and was greeted by Danielle. She advised me not to attempt to remove what I thought might be blockage and to come in right away. I threw on my clothes as quickly as possible and was there within 20 minutes (I live in Falcon/Peyton and this was closest 24 hour pet hospital). Upon arrival I was greeted by Danielle who was expecting me and took Emmy straight back; she was so sweet and compassionate. I was a HOT mess having an anxiety attack thinking I was going to loose my baby. She went back to check on Emmy to give me some sort of update and came out to assure me that she was stable. I was trying to fill out my paperwork and couldn't due to crying and shaking so ridiculously. She was so sweet and attentive-thank you Danielle! Dr. Hesse examined Emmy and every step of the way advised me of options for care because of course I wanted to make sure I could actually afford her care. Dr Hesse recommended we proceed with XRay as she thought it might be pneumonia and this could rule it out. We were able to determine it was in fact pneumonia at this time and I was then presented with treatment options for her care in which Monica came in and very kindly broke down to me. Monica was also the discharge nurse and took time to ensure I knew exactly how to care for her at home. As you can imagine going to the Pet hospital is guaranteed to be a few hundred dollars and this trip was no different but they were kind to offer an active Military discount which was much appreciated-I believe 7%. I did feel their exam fee was fair and par for the course however I feel I was overcharged for one of her antibiotics Enrofloxacin-$159 for 22.7 mg (for 28 tabs). I found this exact prescription online for only .73/tab and called another pet hospital which only charged $60-thus why I am giving 4 start versus 5. Overall excellent care and I would return if need be but likely purchase my meds online if time allowed.

Don’t go to this vet.

I work for a cat only rescue and sometimes we run into vets who won't acknowledge the expertise we develop from hands-on, daily experience. Dr. Chambers is not one of those vets. For the case I brought in last night, Dr. Chambers met me at my level of knowledge for the decision making and made the path forward and the recovery plan clear and easy by taking our "advanced user" status into account. Thanks to her, the emergency surgery for the momma cat with still borns was a success despite some complications, and she's now reunited with her sole surviving kitten.

Christina Langewis

I spent 2000 dollars there because they told me that my cat might be chronic but at least would live for a while. I waited about 13 hours in two days in their waiting room - 8 hours to get him admitted and the rest to have him discharged. My cat died within two hours of coming home. They were extremely dishonest about his prognosis to get my money. Maybe if they had taken care of my cat instead of waiting for my money he wouldn't be dead.

I brought my dog Jack into Powers pet emergency and specialists because Jack had a chicken jerky stuck in his throat. He was in critical condition upon arriving to their clinic. Everyone got Jack into the back and was intubated immediately. Dr Ayers was on duty and I cannot THANK her and the staff on duty enough!!! Dr Ayers and the staff worked so hard getting that treat out of Jacks throat. They saved his life!!! There were times we didn't know if Jack was going to make it but Dr Ayers kept me fully informed along the way. She kept me grounded when I felt lost and helpless! Dr Ayers I cannot thank you enough for saving Jack's life these thanks seem inadequate for what you did !! To all the staff on duty that night know your hard work is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! I would recommend your facility to anyone!! YOU ALL ARE THE BEST!!!

Janette Hudson

I called before I went and was told about an hours wait. An hour and a half after I arrived I was still second in line. They blamed emergencies and said they had to wait for pets to be discharged, but very few animals came in and no one had left with a pet the entire time I was there. I cant tell you about their service because I never got any.

Silverthorne Veterinary

Great place to bring your pet for any emergency situation, the staff is professional and very compassionate. They have specialists on staff and have the ability to do a wide range of tests in house. Our hospital is located a good distance away but we still send clients here for specialty care because of the excellent care they receive.

Mike M

Expensive but that is to be expected for a weekend emergency visit. Staff was very friendly and caring. Waiting areas are comfortable and clean, as was the exam room. Very friendly, caring and personable care for your pet. I would definitely recommend if in need of emergency care for your pet.

Christine Sisneros

Always been helped in a timely matter. Very good with my dogs. A little expensive.

Kristen Jennings

Had to bring Kevlar in for a broken tooth these gals and guys are amazing if you think you have a emergency don't hesitate bring them in to be looked at!!

Bryan Zimmer

Waited for over an hour before they sent in more paperwork instead of care. No one even bothered to even look at my baby girl’s serious laceration. I just got to sit there and let her bleed. I eventually lost my cool and left. Went to a another emergency vet. This place is a joke.

chinookvalley

Our older girl dog started having seizures and we live in very rural CO. It took us a couple of hours to get there. Upon arrival the staff was waiting for us and took her in on a gurney. They were wonderful and did everything they could to save her. Now that we know about Powers Pet ER we are better prepared for disasters. We had to make payments and they accommodated us without asking to pay up front! 5 Stars!

Danielle Schell

This place is amazing. In October 2017 our dog was attacked by another dog. She has several injuries on her legs, abdomen, and chest, some of which were very deep and at serious risk of infection. The team at Powers Pet Emergency & Specialty took her in quickly, were very upfront with us about the seriousness of her injuries, and clearly cared about helping our dog recover physically and emotionally/mentally. She fully recovered quickly within a month or two, and now 10 months later there are zero physical signs of her injuries, no scars to speak of despite the many drains and stitches. They truly did a fantastic job in a very scary time for us. Thank you to the team at Powers Pet!

Devin Spurlin

The Dr was very thourough with her exam and explanation of our concern. Hospital staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Facility is clean and we'll taken care of. We will use them again for emergencies.

Amy Oliver

No one wants to find themselves in the emergency room with the pet they love. This review is for both Powers and their sister location, Uintah. About 5 weeks ago my 8yr old corgi went down in his hind limbs. I rushed him to Uintah Pet Emergency where he received amazing care and was unofficially diagnosed with IVDD. He got radiographs and lots of meds. He was on the road to recovery with his meds and orthopedic rehab but he started declining rapidly all of a sudden. After a few other non emergency vet visits I made an appointment with Dr Ko, the neurologist, as soon as he had an opening which was, understandably, several weeks away. A few days later it became apparent that my corgi was not doing well so I ended up rushing him to Powers. One of the ladies who helped him 5 weeks ago at Uintah was there and offered us support. Everyone was extremely helpful and they were prompt and quick to take him back. We got a room where we discussed possibilities with one of the staff doctors. We asked to speak to the neurologist if he had the time, knowing that it was possible he would say no since we weren't paying for his visit. Dr Ko happened to be on his way out when he noticed my dog, talked to staff and learned he had an appointment with him coming up. Instead of going home to his family, he decided to stop in our room. He promptly sat down on the floor and made himself comfortable and spent the next 30 minutes talking to us about what was going on with my dog. He gave us his honest opinion and diagnosed him with a brain tumor. He told us he likely only had days left to live. I went home ready to give him the best few days of his life but he rapidly declined within hours. I rushed him to the Uintah ER where we said or last goodbyes. The staff at Uintah were so kind, caring, and helpful. The next day I got a personal phone call from Dr Ko offering his condolences. It's been an incredibly hard few days without him but the care he received and the attention I got at both Powers and Uintah far exceeds anything I could ever hope for when dealing with such a tragic situation. Thank you guys for all that you do and thank you so very much for the care you gave my boy.

Overall this place has their best intentions, but unable to communicate with the customers effectively. Our dog went into labor, we brought her in to assure all was well. When we arrived they took her away from us right away, they did not really communicate regarding what the plan was. We waited about 30 minutes in the front of the facility, then they moved us into a waiting room, we waited for about another 30 minutes. I had to go speak with one of the girls at the front desk before we were acknowledged. The bill was much higher than necessary, lots of tagged on fees that were explained but not necessary, and we were there for a good amount of time considering they did an xray for us then sent is on our way. The doctor was not very knowledgeable and was not straight forward with us and wouldn't just get to the point, I had to ask many questions to find out as much information as we could. We are thankful this facility was open at the time we needed, but would never return unless we absolutely had to!

Studio A64 Est. 2013

Absolutely horrible. My dog was brought in as a stray because he wasn't wearing a collar. He had a small cut on his face and they told me they already worked on him and I would have to pay for the service even though he was only there for 20 minutes tops. They said they shaved his face and cleaned the wound and refused to give him back to us unless we paid the $117. We paid and the dog came out without the wound addressed FACE WAS NOT SHAVED they blatantly lied to us. I WILL NEVER GO OR RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL, IN FACT I WILL DO THE OPPOSITE AND WARN EVERYONE TO NOT TAKE THEIR PETS HERE. Shameful business practice!!

Shanna Nguepe

So my kitten ingested Tide laundry soap and became sick. It was a Sunday and I was slightly freaked out because I have never had an animal go to an ER. I was shocked at how busy it was! This staff works really hard and really cares for each pet. The wait was really long... but it was totally worth the peace of mind. I would recommend taking your pet here for any emergency service with an open mind about wait times.

Kristen Roller

I have brought 2 pets here, in the recent past and was highly satisfied with the services received on both occasions. All staff and doctors were professional and compassionate. I had a bit of a wait, but like the ER for humans, Powers Pet Emergency IS in fact in emergency room who triages their more critical patients. I highly recommend this hospital.

Kelsey Rother

My kitty (panther) swallowed two sewing needles. They were great good fast service. Thank you so much for taking care of my family. One thing I didn't appricate is they didnt call me when he went in for surgery or when he came out. Other than that again thank you for returning 14 years back to my baby

Resident Of Colorado

It is hard to put into words how awesome Powers Pet Emergency & Specialty is! All of the doctors and staff members are the cream of the crop. With their skills and expertise, not to mention what compassionate and humanitarian people they are, our precious dog has been given outstanding care! Very high tech equipment for diagnosis and treatment. Recently we had the pleasure of the staff, and certified veterinary technician, Joy McDonell, providing the care our dog needed. The staff, and Joy, are so proficient, and you can tell that they really love their jobs, (and they love our fuzzy kids)! .

Joseph Devendorf

I had to give a rating in order to leave a review. Deserve zero Stars. My dog had a stroke and the 24 hr ER in Pueblo directed us there because he could get an MRI and there was a neurologist there. The neurologist isn't on call even for emergencies. He was dehydrated and slipped into a coma. He needed IV fluids. They did nothing to help us and were very dismissive. We lost my dog that day.

ashley pearson

Even though our situation didn't end up like we hoped we really appreciate how the staff and doctor cared for us and our dog. They listened thoroughly to everything we had to say and showed deep compassion for our situation! Provided detailed information about our Dogs health and so very empathic toward us. Thank you to the whole team working with us!

Kristen Sanders

April 14th we had to put our family cat down at 7 years old he had a stroke. It was really hard for my husband and I and our two kids he was more than a pet he was our other kid. We wanted to get something in memory of him so we decided on the paw prints because it's the least expensive and we were spending close to $300 on the euthanasia and Sunday vet emergency visit (our vet is closed on Sundays). So they say it's super easy and will be there in a week. Two weeks go by and we hear nothing so I call. They tell me they're not sure what's going on but will call me the next day. Still no word so I call back in two more weeks and they're still not sure and will have someone call me the next day. It's May 15th a really nice lady calls and tells me they messed up somehow and did not get his prints and it's to late they can not do his prints because he was already cremated! I still wonder what would have happened if I didn't call! Would they just not call me and tell me what happened! They did refund me a little over $60 of the almost $300! Needless to say I've been crying about this all day!

Gabby

Most amazing vet experience I have ever had anywhere in the country. We had to take our pup to their neurology department which is a scary thing to deal with in the 1st place. Dr. Ko is absolutely fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable in his area of expertise, friendly, and informative, and he truly cares about what is best for the pup; not how he can make the most money off of you. He talked us though many treatment options and came up with the best and most inexpensive plan to treat our pup. His entire team is friendly and compassionate and work very well together. I'm just so happy my pup is in his hands. I highly recommend this place to anyone in need of specialty pet services.

Kris T

Very friendly staff, and really made me feel they truly care about the well being of animals. My bird suffered a dog attack, and they took care of him making sure that he would be alright. Great communication, and a clean facility. Thank you for helping him!

Monty Hatch

Don't bring your sick animal here EVER! They said it would be a 2 hour wait and 4.5 hours later we left to go somewhere else. No one would assess the puppy and they said he had to wait in the car in 85 degree weather in case he was contagious. WORST PLACE EVER!

Kaylee Dobbins

We had to take our dog in to be seen on Thursday September 19. All the staff members we dealt with were loving and compassionate. The front desk greeted us with a smile. Once we were back in a room the vet tech took her time with our dog and listened to our multiple concerns. When the vet came in she was very sweet and gentle with our dog who was pretty terrified. It was a rough visit for us, and it was so comforting to be surrounded by loving and caring staff members. The vet tech was Janea and our dog saw Dr. Aylor. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our dog, Ranger.

Opportunity Knocks Twice

I needed to get my dog into a clinic that could perform a non-emergency ultrasound but in a timely fashion. Powers Pet Emergency worked with me and my dog got the ultrasound the next day. Very positive experience

Judy Aguilar

I would just like to thank everyone at powers Pet Emergency & Speciality, especially the staff and Dr. Rainer Ko, he and his staff were awesome and took the task for caring for my Pebbles she is a Shih Tzu, he found out she has meningitis in her brain and with his fast diagnosis, was able to prescribe the correct medication. She is doing so much better. Thank you so much for your continued support for me and my family.

Mel Dalland

We were very impressed tonight! Our dog was injured, and our regular vet was unable to do an X-ray this late at night, but was happy to consult via phone/text. When we got to Powers Pet Emergency, everyone was friendly, concerned, and helpful. I really felt like Shelby was a priority. They were very busy, and we did wait a while, but it was clear that we were going to get to go home with our dog, and other families who weren't so lucky were needing the help more urgently. They made sure that Shelby was assessed immediately, despite being busy, to ensure she was stable. Then, after her X-ray and diagnosis, they prescribed medication. After a quick conversation where our vet recommended some additions, they modified things a bit. It was wonderful that, rather than be annoyed at her input, they were grateful that someone who had Shelby's medical history was willing to consult even late at night. Consequently, due to the cooperation between the vets, my dog got amazing care. Thanks to everyone there for their kindness and compassion! Oh, and in reference to the reviews about it being expensive - it wasn't cheap, that's true. But, the human emergency room is always more expensive than a primary care doctor, why would you expect that vets are any different? The care was worth the cost.

Jenny Dawson

Caring and thoughtful staff. Very knowledgeable and knew how to treat my dog. I am so thankful for them and would go back for specially services or emergencies. I had an amazing experience.

Rose Horton

Powers pet emergency had been the most successful and wonderful place to take my pet's for any unexpected emergency. The staff is wonderful and God given when you are in need...

Marcus Trevaskis

Very grateful for them helping us free of charge getting a bone unstuck from my dogs jaw. Thank you

First, if I had to rate the front desk on the day of our visit it would be 5 stars. The front desk person, Malia, and the other young lady working overnight Friday August 2nd to Saturday August 3rd were fantastic. Please send my thanks for their kind and friendly demeanor. As to the facility. We brought Oscar in to the facility with intestinal issues. Full bloodwork was run along with a pancreatitis test. The doctor advised all tests were normal. Two days later, my dog was SO severely ill that I had to bring him into internal medicine. Their doctor called over to get the pancreatitis test result but turns out, it was never run. My dog ended up hospitalized for two days for pancreatitis. After it was all over, I called Powers and left a message for the office manager to call as I needed to discuss Oscar's care. No return phone call at all. I have been to this office many times and while I can't say I will NEVER go again (emergencies are emergencies and I live down the road from this office) I CAN say that I will do absolutely everything in my power to use the other emergency room all the way on the other side of town in order to avoid giving them my money. It's bad that Powers Pet told me they ran a CPL when they didn't. It's deplorable that they charged me for it even though it wasn't run. It's unforgivable that they couldn't be bothered to call me back to calmly discuss it and it SHOULD be criminally negligent (although it isn't, because dogs are property) that they told me the test result was normal when it was never even run. I would advise avoiding and using the other ER instead.

Kelly Stewart

We would like to give a very heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Ko and his staff at the Powers Pet clinic Words cannot express how we feel about Dr. Ko, his knowledge, care and compassion are something that my Wife and I have NEVER, I repeat NEVER experienced with any Doctor whether for humans or our pets. Dr. Ko is 1 of only 7 doctors in the world with double-boarded certifications in veterinary neurosurgery but the truth is he is 1 of 1 for being a really good person. Thank You

Cait Marsh

I brought my pup in with aggressive GI issues that had worsened suddenly. The pup ran a fever, and the vet thought there was an impaction. So, the vet recommended Xrays. Nothing showed up, but then the vet recommended bloodwork to rule out "anything very serious needing more care." Xrays, IV for dehydration, and bloodwork cost $640 or so. They then recommended the pup stay 24 hours for ambulatory care and ultrasound since, as they put it, my pup's kidneys were needing further examination. Cost of that was $2000, which I said "absolutely NOT" to. They laid it on pretty thick that the pup's kidney functions showed my pup needed to stay. When I asked for the creatine level, they refused to give it to me unless I paid for the services done to that point. So I paid the $640ish and took my pup outta there fast, bloodwork results in hand. I called my regular vet for an appointment that morning and made an appointment. My vet called me shortly after and said to bring the pup in ASAP because they got the cover sheet from this ER vet *only* and their notes made it sound like my pup was dying. I read her some blood work numbers, and my vet then said: ER vets are known to manipulate situations and will charge whatever they want for whatever they think you'll pay for. I brought my pup into my regular vet that day for further examination and discussion. By then other paperwork from this ER vet had shown up. My puppy had colitis only and needed some simple antibiotics. She's fine now and does not have any kidney issues. This ER Vet center is no better than other 24 hour ones in town: in the wake of Pet Parent Fear, they confuse compassionate, empathetic care with sympathetic care. Do not confuse the two: sympathetic care is the equivalent of human helicopter parenting from parents with Munchausen Syndrome. UPDATE: it has been a month with 3 unreturned phone calls to the manager who wrote me below. If they were truly serious about addressing this complaint, they would have called me back by now. BEWARE. UPDATE #2: I emailed Toufic and the e-mail address is abandoned, the e-mail is undeliverable. BEWARE.

Great service lovely staff! Definitely trust them with my baby!

Vincent Montez

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE I cannot express how horrible the service is, my cat was practically on her deathbed so we walked in and even the staff said she didn't look well in the slightest. We waited for NEARLY THREE HOURS and other animals got helped and got out the door before our close-to-death cat. We never even got helped, long story short we never got any service because I decided to leave after waiting so long. I don't trust any animal clinic that takes 3 hours to help a single cat that very much needs it. Don't waste your time here, especially if it's an emergency. I recommend going to ANY OTHER clinic. I've gotten better service at a McDonald's. Absolutely disgusting

Kristina Havens

The front office staff was very nice but the treatment was worthless. I went in because I thought my dog had swallowed something and they took her back to give her medicine to throw up. I assumed they would have done a routine examine and taken her temp and checked her but they never realized her temp was over 104°!! How did they miss this?! $75 for the exam?! Then my vet couldn’t get them to send them any paper work. I will not be going back to this clinic.

Stephanie Rikeman

Dr. Ko was amazing. He really took his time thoroughly evaluating my kitty and answering my questions and has an obvious love for animals. Thank you so much!

Mike Hoffman

Caring staff and doctor helped us with a tough decision to put down our loved dog. Understanding and respectful of our wishes. Highly recommended.

donavan moss

Came here because my dog was lethargic and throwing up and had blood in her stool. Waited 3.5 hours before I left to take her to banfield in Monument. no Telling how much longer I would have waited. No reason an emergency room wait should be 3 hours long.

Melanie Chalupa

Robert thanks for reaching out. Left 1 star as my greyhound was at your facility after breaking her leg, which lead to a surgery that she unexpectedly did not survive. The first day (a Saturday) your team sent her home with a pain patch, after calling around the next morning (Sunday) every other ER said she should have never gone home and should have been recommended to stay for 24/7 care. Took her to another ER immediately upon that recommendation who was on a 5 hour wait. As our dog haddnt gone to the restroom and was in need of an IV we wanted to get her cared for ASAP and took her back to powers who had a 1 hour wait (should have known better after first day neglect but was concerned with getting her taken care of ASAP, a fatal mistake). She was taken in and had surgery the following morning when the orthopedic surgeon got in - part of his drill bit broke off in her leg which bad enough, was the least of it. In addition to the botched surgery when we went to visit our dog she was without water. When we gave her water she drank so much and so fast that you could tell she was extremely neglected. Her surgery and care before and after was shocking and borders abuse beyond neglect. I am confident had she been taken to any other ER she would still be alive today. The sadness and regret we feel for bringing her to Powers will hang over us forever.

I don’t want to slander or insult this office or their staff, I just want to express disappointment. At the beginning of July, one of my dogs bolted out the door as I was walking into my house. While trying to catch him, he ended up getting hit by a car. He survived, initially, and my husband brought him in to you guys. I stayed home with our toddler. I thought my dog would need some help, but make it through. I didn’t think that that morning was going to be the last time I saw him. After being evaluated, it was determined that his wounds were much more severe than we thought. We ended up making the excruciating call to relieve him of his pain and put him down. The following week, we had to move across country for my husband’s job. While we were traveling, we received a call that our dog’s ashes were available. Once we had gotten to our destination, I called and arranged to have his ashes sent to our new home. I was told it could take 7-10 business days. Everyday during that time, I hoped I would finally be reunited with my dog. After two weeks(10 business days), I called to check what was going on. Turns out, there was some sort of miscommunication, and my dog’s ashes had never been sent. They were still at your facility. I’ve been grieving over the loss of this dog for weeks, and just waiting and hoping for some closure by being able to be reunited with him again. So to find out that if I hadn’t called and checked in, he would still just be sitting in an urn in your office, is renewing the heartbreak all over again.

Shari K T

Long wait, but it's an ER, so I expected that. Everyone was nice and would keep me up dated with my dog's issues and even updated when I would talk to the vet. Overall, the main thing is my dog is doing well and is happy. Thank you for all you do.

Gone Dying

ZERO STARS; and here's why. I bring my dog in to get checked because he is not feeling well. The first person to comes in our room ( fat vet assistant) she doesn't start off by saying hi or asking what's wrong. What she does instead is insults my dog. Says he looks like a stupid dog and kept calling him stupid the entire time she was in there. -- this place shows no concern, affection/ caring, or sense of urgency for your pet. -- the amount of time spent. While there we had 4 different people come in to get my dog for tests, xray ect and they told me sorry they're pretty busy this morning.. When we got there, all other rooms were open and no one else had arrived till later in morning. Spent over 2 hours here. Most of it waiting. -- the cost. I understand this is an emergency place for pets, but why are the medications and other things given to my dog so expensive. You could easily order or go a regular vet and get them for 1/3 of the cost this place charged. -- Cleanliness. The room that me and my dog waited in was dirty. Floor had stains, dirt/ dust, fuzz and hair. Who knows how often or what is considered clean at this facility. I'd hate to see how or what happens behind the door where my pet was taken. This was my experience. Maybe others have had better or worse. All I know is I will not be taking my dog here again.

Priscilla Umholtz

Thank you, and I mean really thank you to all the staff here! We came in with a fish hook in my little kitties mouth, completely freaked out, barefoot from running out the door and they did everything to keep us updated and reassured of the status of our little Keanu. I would choose this place for emergencies any day of the week.

Korrine Rudderow

Staff is nice. But I’m extremely disappointed in one thing: my dog had blood drawn and when I picked him up blood was dripping down his arm. I grabbed a tissue to clean it but he ended up bleeding all in my car and now won’t stop licking it raw. Why wasn’t it wrapped?! I just wrapped it with an old clean sock. I’m so disappointed. Left paying $350 and they couldn’t even wrap his arm?! Thanks a lot.

Dawn Lingold

I had to bring my Golden Retriever in late one night and although it was one of the saddest nights of my life. Powers Pet Hospital was awesome. They were compassionate and understanding. The doctor explained Kingston’s condition, allowed me time to call family members and wait for my daughter to come say goodbye. They set us up in a clean, comfortable, private room, and gave us time ... Kingston left us in peace, knowing he was loved. They went above and beyond in calling later and sending us a card. Thank you. I’ve seen how you handle emergencies and I will definitely recommend you to others if needed.

Ashley Barnes

This place is terrible! Do not go here if you don’t have too. They are very overprice , of course I would do anything for my animals but thousands of dollars for and X-ray and more for labs. Not only did I have a bad experience with the vet assistant and the doctor, my friend did as well. My friend took in his sick huskie and specifically told them if she needs anesthetics to please talk to him first because she has had problems in the past. 2 hours pass, he asked “ uhh is she ok .” they went ahead and gave her anesthetics anyway WITHOUT even notifying him! And then made him pay and said if he didn’t they would audit his credit!

Tara Burkey

I want to express my absolute gratitude to the entire staff. You spent the first half of the day trying to save our dog, and the second half helping us say goodbye. You put us first, not the billing or the time, and you made a terrible day bearable and even peaceful at the end. Rose ended her life in a much better way because of you. Thank you all. Doctor -- you're the best.

Steffi Enderle

The staff is wonderful, understanding, patient and kind. They took great care of our pug Boo when he went in to cardiac arrest and I was a blubbering mess. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING OUR BOY BACK TO US!

Joshua Bufkin

Please never use this place. Let me tell you my story and what happened during my visit. So i brought in my 12 year old dachshund who at that current time was showing signs of paralysis in all of her legs. First off as soon as i walk in the door my dog is taken from me and right into the back, and not returned to me for at least 10 min. Then i am told to wait until a room comes available. I believe i sat in the lobby for at least an hour now granted there were cases of Parvo and a few euthanasia that evening which was out of their hands. After the hour passed and we were finally put into a room a very nice nurse came in and again asked me what was going on so i has to explain the whole situation all over again. Again they take my dog in the back and she is gone for another 20 mins i have no idea what is going on at this point. I have never been to a vet or an emergency vet that does not do most of the exam in the room with the owner. Finally the doctor comes in and tells me my options as to what i can do to find out what is currently wrong with my dog. Finally it came down to x-rays and blood work. I asked the doctor over and over again if my dog would ever be able to walk again and she was persistent that she would. So the x-rays come back and nothing is found i was also told i would have to wait 5 to 7 business days for the blood work to come back on whether or not my dog has had a stroke. So at this point i am told that there is nothing that can be done at the emergency room and i would need to follow up with my primary vet. They did offer for me to by a special sling to help my paralyzed dog be able to go to the bathroom. Well long story short i came out of there $800 later with no answers and 5 days later i am at my primary vets office putting my dog to sleep after being told that my dog has disc disease which she found out this information from the Powers Emergency Vets X-rays. Weird how i was never told that, however i was told that my dog would walk again. Way to get my hopes up!!! So here is the really messed up part i am sitting at home and i receive a message from Powers Emergency telling me that they have the blood work back and they also wanted to see the status on how my dog was doing. Now mind you this call was 6 weeks after our visit and the 5-7 business day that they said they would be calling and giving me the results. The only answer they could provide to me on the reason why they were just now getting back to me was" oh i am sorry about that this happens sometimes when our files get misplaced". Good thing someones life was not on the line!! So please do not use this place if you really are looking for a way to help or save your pet. Again i was there at the emergency room for 5 hours $800 later and no answers. Thank you Andrea Padron.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. My dog was in a lot of pain. Dr. Ko spent a good 1.5 hours just talking to me and watching my dog to really learn about her and what was causing her pain. Then he did an exam. Dr. Ko really cares about you and your fur baby. He worked with me to come up with what he called a game plan for our situation. I have never had a Dr. give the time that he did to get to know my pet and learn her story. Thank you Dr. Ko and your team. You guys rock!! You will always be Hannahs Doctor. Thank you, AKA Chris Bolander

If I could give a zero, I would. Took my pregnant bulldog in last night after she went into labor. Was scheduled for a c-section today at our vets office in Denver but I didn’t think she would make it that far. Our vet doesn’t have after hours care so I had no choice but to take her here. Anyway, I took her temp before arriving and it was 98.6. They took her temp and said it was 101 and there’s no way she could be in labor. Even after telling them our thermometer read differently, they acted like I knew nothing and sent us home. I stayed up all night watching her and early this morning, she started whining. So I loaded her up & headed towards our vets office. As we got into the Springs, she got more restless so we decided to stop by this place just one more time before jumping on the interstate to Denver. I didn’t want her to have puppies on the interstate so I wanted to double check. Got her in and they again checked her temperature. 104 this time. Again, we told them that we checked with 2 thermometers and both of ours read 98.6. They blew it off again and said she can’t possibly be in labor. I told them that she needed a c-section because English Bulldogs can’t handle natural birth very well. One lady looked at the other and asked if they knew that in the back. She said “I don’t know but she’s not in labor so you have plenty of time” and then sent us on our way. 20 minutes later on the interstate, she gives birth to a puppy. We rushed to Denver to our vet where they performed an emergency c-section because one was stuck. Way to drop the ball guys! If someone tells you that they used 2 thermometers and is reading differently than yours, don’t assume yours is right. And don’t blow people off like they don’t know what they’re talking about because this time you guys were way off! I won’t ever be back!

We had a wonderful experience here. It was time for our old lady dog to go and the staff were so kind, caring and compassionate. They allowed us plenty of time and space. It was a smooth process and the doctor was so loving in this very hard time for us. The nurse was so umderand gentle with us, and they cared for us so well. I recommend anyone come here!

We have had to take our lab in twice once for hit by car and another her back legs were paralyzed. Both times they were very kind and moved quickly to treatour pet. Clean facility. Dr Ko called in the MRI team on a Sunday to get answers. Dr talked in plain English I could understand. I couldn't recommend this facility to everyone.

Sam bethler

Horrible called for advice on my dog I thought was sick. They new from what I said on phone she was pregnant, took her in and gave me a bill I couldn't pay when she could told me on the phone. Then called about a puppy and tried getting me back in to have to pay more when they say if you have any questions feel free to call. This place just plays games doesn't care about animals just want the money to rack that bill up.

Ariel Detvay

My friend and I took his dog there with some respiratory problems. The staff was very caring and professional. The place was very clean and well taken care of. They got us in and out in a timely manner. I also thought the prices were reasonable as well. We were both very satisfied with the service we received.

Andrea Padron

So this goes to show that this business really does not care about their customers even after you leave them a bad review. I left a review on this company 3 weeks ago. The manager wrote back to my review and stated that they would look into my visit and would be reaching out to me. Well it's 3 weeks later and still have not been contacted. I guess they must have lost my file AGAIN!! I really hope people read these reviews and really think about going to this place. Very bad customer service on their part. Thanks Andrea Padron

I used to like this place but after my recent visit, I am very disappointed. I took my dog in to get stitches in his ear after a recent dog fight. I picked him up 4 am the following morning and it looked like they didn’t even clean his ear before suturing it up. About 5:30 that night I had to bring him back in because puss and blood was draining down his ear and irritating him. They weren’t much help and suggested I buy a cone. I was perfectly fine with that but then they wanted me to do a culture on his ear to see if the medication they prescribed in the first place was even going to work. Then they wanted me to pay $100 for a new medication without even knowing how the other one was going to work so I would have paid $400 to get those two things done. They didn’t want to even reimburse me for the old medication that they thought wasn’t even going to work. After I said I didn’t have that kind of money they totally started treating me differently. I feel like If the pets were actually their number one concern, they would help me either way. So not even 24 hours after he got sutures, his ear was EXTREMELY infected and puss and blood was everywhere and his ear smelled AWFUL. I brought him back and they wanted me to spend $900 AGAIN to redo what seems to be like they didn’t even do correctly in the first place. I took him to another vet and they had to sedate him and clean his whole ear out because powers Didn’t seem to do that in the first place. Now I have to go back to the other vet and get his stitches redone on Monday because powers pet didn’t do them right. I honestly think powers pet should pay the $400 I have to pay at the other vet to get his ear redone. The new vet said that where powers sutured him up, the tissue is dying. It’s completely black. I should have taken him somewhere else in the first place to someone who actually knows how to suture wounds up. I have spend over $500 to fix what powers pet messed up. My dog is in soooo much pain and all powers pet thinks about is the money. Oh and by the way, the wait there is ridiculous. I waited for over an hour with my dog pouring blood out of his head before they even brought me into a room.

Honestly, if I could leave 0 stars I would. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a vet. They are clearly more money driven than anything else, and it is absolutely heartbreaking. My dog and I waited almost 7 hours before they even started the procedure we came in needing. I kept hearing the excuse that he “wasn’t critical enough” and they never called another doctor in, just kept pushing us back. What really pushed me over the edge was that I made it clear that he had severe separation anxiety when they finally took him back and told me they would start the procedure. They told me to go get some dinner and then come back and he would be done. Before I could leave, I was required to pay my hefty estimated total in full and to sign a form that said I would incur a 150-300 dollar fee if cpr was necessary for any reason, or I had to check dnr. Ridiculous. So anyway, I leave and come back after 2 hours, at which point it’s almost 11 pm, and they tell me they haven’t even started. They did not communicate this to me whatsoever and he sat in a kennel scared and sick, when I would’ve immediately come back had I known we’d be pushed back, yet again. To me, this was unacceptable. I told them I wanted him out of the kennel and with me immediately until they could get their act together and finally start, and that’s when they finally stepped up. On top of it all, the billing process is extremely convoluted and nobody gives consistent answers, plus their prices were outrageous. I called to try and work all this out with them, and their solution was to offer me a $50 discount, which isn’t even close to enough for all this. Then we get him home the next day after he was hospitalized overnight, at the last minute for something that they certainly contributed to, and he had so much fecal matter on his hind legs from being kenneled that we had to bathe him right away. Do not take your babies here!

Drew Anderson

We had to take our dog to them in an emergency situation and long story short we had to say goodbye to her while we were there the nurses and staff were VERY understanding a nurse even stayed in the room with us letting us tell story's to her while we were saying goodbye doctor's and staff even hugged us. I feel that they understand that it's not just a pet but a family member

Aryia Resch

The entire staff is fantastic! My room Nurse was sweet, Dr. Korte was FANTASTIC with my pup, Lilo. She had a chunk out of her back leg. The incision was clean, efficient and Lilo is back to her normal self after the incident. I would recommend anyone coming to this facility in case of emergencies!

Dave Devendorf

They did nothing to help us. And were even dismissive and lacking in compassion. They said I could email the issues and they would get back to me within 24 hours, 2 Days Later it was never responded to and my dog passed away. He said there was a two to three-hour wait, I told them my dog was dehydrated and needed IV fluids, they seemed unmoved. They have the only canine neurologist available, but only on Monday through Friday, if your dog has emergency on the weekend, take a number.

This place came very highly recommended from a couple of different places however after taking our cat in they gave us the same run around the other vets did and also charged $600 to say he’s stressed? Bs a cat that Urinates blood and growls at his private parts because he’s in pain isn’t just from stress. Save your money and go elsewhere! **Update*** (wasn’t sure how to find this review again) 4 days after we took the cat in to be told he was “Stressed” we had to take him in to be put down at her another facility. At a year and a half the cat didn’t even span 1/8 of his life. Seriously do your research if you want your pet properly taken care of. Instead we were charged $600 then another $80 to have him Euthanized.

First of all Dr. Ko and his team (Summer, Ted and Rachel to name a few) are the absolute greatest! I took my chihuahua Rizo in for a degenerative disc causing some paralysis that required surgery and they treated his as their own. Even to the point of laying on the floor to feed him some chicken to make sure that he ate. Dr. Ko kept me updated multiple times during the day on my Rizo's status and even sent me videos on his progress. Rizo and I have never had greater care or been shown greater compassion than from Dr. Ko and his team.I highly recommend Dr. Ko for any of your animal companions neurological needs. There is no better team that can be found. Thank you Dr. Ko for giving Rizo his life back. We will never forget you.

All the staff members were amazing! They were very helpful, and you can tell they care lot about animals. Thank you again for all your help!

We had originally taken our girl Luna to a different vet where they told us that she was not pregnant and instead was having a false pregnancy. August 8th came around and we just knew she wasn’t okay, we decided to take her to powers pet emergency where they did an ultra sound and were just lovely. After a couple of minutes it was confirmed that these 4 little pups were in there and on their way. They gave us amazing hints and told us to call if anything happened in the middle of the night. That night these 4 popped out. Thank you!!

We had to visit Powers Pet Emergency to put our old lady dog to sleep, when our regular vet was out of town. We were very hesitant about visiting a new clinic. The staff here communicated with our current vet and made the experience go as smoothly as it could have gone. The amount of compassion Dr. Estrada and her team showed us was above and beyond. Even when my wife self admittedly was rude to the staff member that offered to assist with bringing our dog inside, they did not allow it to diminish there courtesy and compassion. It was a very heartbreaking and sad time for us, and the clinic did so much to make it go smoothly in a caring manner. On a side note, we were also concerned about the fees associated with an emergency clinic. The charges were presented up front and seemed pretty reasonable though, which was one less thing we needed to worry about. Powers Pet Emergency staff, thank you so much for all of your compassionate help. The level of care you provided meant so much in this painful time for us. I will gladly recommend this clinic to anyone that needs help.

I came here the other night around 1am when my puppy was getting lethargic and wouldn't move or stand. I thought she was hypoglymeic but after eating some she wasn't looking much better so decided to find a place to take her. We came here and it was an awesome experience. Everyone was extremely nice (even at 1am!) And while I waited for some testing someone would constantly be popping their head in to check on me and just let me know they were also just waiting on test results etc. The red head tall doctor was so sweet. I was such a mess and my puppy was feeling much better by the time we saw her. I felt kinda dumb, but wanted to be safe than sorry she was very kind and understanding, she gave me a note of the things to mention to my primary vet so I wouldn't forget. Their prices are also extremely reasonable and they gave me quotes for everything before doing any work. Thank you Powers Pet ER. If ever needed again definitely will be choosing you again

mandy solomon

I brought my dog in for an emergency blood transfusion and had to put him to sleep. It was a painful experience, and on top of that, the vet techs and staff were rather insensitive. My dog was called by everything but his name. The vet did not even know his name when he gave his consultation. He was called she. And, to top it all off, they did not enter my contact information properly, so I had no idea my dog's ashes were ready for pick up. I had to call them. Try some compassion.

When I took my 18 year old cat in for treatment the doctor was upfront and honest. I was informed that my Sweet Sassy was not going to recover they were very sympathetic to Sassy’s needs. They took very good care of me as well. Sassy came to us at 4 weeks old she grew up with my son. It was a very hard decision but the doctor and nurses were amazing. I will recommend this facility to anyone

Having worked with and cared for animals for over 40 years, I cannot rave highly enough about these folks! They cared for our priceless Siamese kitten like they would have their own family member! The Clinic was spotless, the Staff were amazing, the wait times were very reasonable, and they made our baby Zeus's near-fatal car accident a thousand times more manageable! May God Bless all of you Angels! You all deserve a thousand stars!!! Thank you again!!!

Sammi Lynn

My dog got a bone stuck around her jaw, went in right away and they took it off in under two minutes! Relieved there was no cost, the best customer service we’ve seen anywhere!

Kelly Jenks

Amazing staff! We just drove from Fountain with 3 dogs all under 5lbs and they got us in, all 3 checked out and medicine within an hour! It’s very obvious they care and love their jobs!!! Thank you to everyone to helped with our littles❤️

0 stars. After midnight, I took my dog here with a bleeding abscess. I had to make a very unexpected and expensive purchase earlier that day, so my money was limited until my bank opened at 7:00 a.m. for my husband’s paycheck to clear. Murphy’s Law. My husband and I choose to live on a cash only basis and we don’t use credit. As soon as I told them that, I could tell by the staff that they were prepared to stop all treatment and let my dog continue to bleed out. These people care nothing for your animal. Absolutely nothing! They’re only concerned with the almighty dollar. Trust me. With help from my family in Alabama and PayPal, I was able to gather the money together. Only then when I told them that did they begin to help my dog. My husband and I don’t have children, so our dogs are the closest thing to children we have, and may ever have, quite frankly. The fact that they were going to let my boy suffer just boggles my mind. As far as I’m concerned, that was pure animal abuse and neglect. I suggest to you to never go here. We will be taking our dogs to another emergency vet from here on out. I’m prepared to raise all hell about this. They, unfortunately, have no idea who they’ve messed with or what I do for a living. They’ll be very sorry when I’m done with them.

Powers pet is amazing and treated our dog like family. Our precious girl was diagnosed with thyroid carcinoma and we were referred to Powers Pet to see Dr. Cichocki. She was kind, thorough and was able to remove the cancerous mass successfully. She is an incredibly skilled surgeon who truly cares about animals and their anxious parents. The other staff members were excellent as well. Our girl tends to be nervous but she was monitored and never in pain. I can’t say enough about how grateful we are to Powers Pet!

This is going to be very long but I feel it's important to be thorough as our pets and their care mean so much to us, especially in cases of emergency, and also because there seem to be quite a few reviews that are just completely opposite of the experience we had today. A couple days ago my 7 year old male Pembroke Welsh Corgi got into some chicken bones (3 medium sized pieces of fried chicken) - I called our regular vet immediately (Banfield Pet Hospital) and our usual doctor told us that if it were her dog, she would take him in immediately to get him checked out. My wife worked at an animal hospital for several years prior and reached out to her coworkers and the doctor that cared for my Corgi for the first 4 years of his life before we moved to CO. They all said we COULD take him in right away, but since he hadn't had any symptoms we could monitor him and see how we did. That first day he was OK, but today after his light lunch of chicken broth and white rice, when I took him outside I noticed he was having a hard time with his bowel movement, and what little came out had some red streaking in it and a few drops of blood also came out, which was something everyone mentioned we needed to be particularly aware of, and to take him in immediately if he had those symptoms. We were a little nervous with some of the reviews, and of course with most establishments different personnel can lead to different experiences, but I have to say at least for us it was an overwhelmingly positive experience. It wasn't super busy this afternoon, only a few people in the waiting area and lots of available rooms. We got into a room right away after filling out the paperwork, and the nurse Erin came in shortly and took down the info I had observed over the last day and a half. The doctor came in shortly after that as well, and was able to put our minds at ease and make us feel much better, as well as give Maverick a quick but thorough examination, and then took him into the back for a little closer look. When she found nothing that she thought needed to be looked at further and more thoroughly (X rays) - she informed us that she could give us a safe, practical, and conservative plan to treat Maverick for the next several days. At no point did anyone we talked to, the nurse or the doctor, seem like they were attempting to prey on our emotions or suggest expensive treatments or tests. Actually the doctor recommended that we not do any imaging at that moment because she felt confident that he would recover shortly with her treatment plan, but of course if we had any complications or he took a turn for the worse we should bring him back ASAP and they'd re-examine and see what kind of further tests needed to be ran. We walked out with a couple of prescriptions feeling much better and super grateful for this facility and all the staff we talked to. In the end we paid a very, very reasonable price. You can call and inquire for the price of the vet to just come into the room to check your pet out, but after asking around it seems like a very fair starting point. On top of the consultation with the doctor, the medications we got were actually very cheap as well. If we wind up going back and having a different experience I will update as necessary, but for now I am very confident in recommending Powers Pet Emergency.

I brought our ten month old great dane pup Hamlet in yesterday with some stomach concerns. Every last person on the staff that we encountered treated him with great affection (to me that's a good sign in a clinic). The tech (I think her name was April? Sorry I forgot if you read this) was fab - gentle with him, informative, and thorough. Dr. Sanchez was also great; she walked through the tentative diagnosis and treatment outline and patiently gave me real answers to my questions rather than jargon me into submission. Regarding the negative reviews due to wait times or expense - it was an expensive visit, sure. A veterinary ER is going to be. I will say that nothing we were charged for seemed in any way unnecessary or exorbitant. And yeah, we waited awhile. That's going to happen in a veterinary ER, especially on a Sunday. One last thing - I called our regular vet this morning to schedule a follow-up, and his treatment record and x-rays were already sent over. TL;DR - fantastic staff, fantastic service. ______________________________________________________________ EDIT: We had to bring our cat Hepzibah in last night (July 10) because she couldn't stand straight and kept falling over all of a sudden. They got her in to check her out immediately, and gave us a tentative outline of the options available to us, as well as approximate cost of each, which we really appreciated. Dr. Korte (I have to guess at spelling) was incredible. He was frank with us all the way down the line, and we both would like to thank him for his advice and empathy. Jade, you were also so kind and sweet, and I think Danielle was the name of the young lady who checked us out - thank you too for your kindness and sympathy. Hepzibah is showing some signs of improvement today, thankfully, and we can only hope that that continues. Thank you all so much.

I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve brought three of my dogs to Powers Pet Emergency and I’ve always been so impressed with the service and care they’ve received, but my most recent experience has left me speechless. We brought my sweet Harvey in when he was sick, not really knowing what was wrong, and we had no idea the week we had coming. Harvey ended up staying in the doggy ICU for 6 days. I got a call every single day, most days at least twice a day with updates on my baby. His illness ended up being extremely serious, and probably lifelong, but the team at Powers Pet Emergency knew almost immediately what was wrong with him and how to start treatment. If it weren’t for their knowledge and expertise, my baby wouldn’t be here with me today. We were able to go in and see my Harvey every day he was there, we never felt rushed to leave, even though we were taking up a room that they probably could have used. Since Harvey was able to come home, we’ve been back for weekly checkups and the girls at the front counter have come to know Harvey and I by name. I feel as if they truly care about my baby as much as I do. It’s a humbling experience when something like this happens out of the blue, but I can’t thank the entire team (from the front counter to all of the vet techs to the vets themselves) at Powers Pet Emergency enough for sticking by mine and my Harvey’s side and keeping our heads up!

If you decide to bring your pet in here after hours, the staff is abismal. My cat had been sick for about a week, I noticed some weight loss, lack of appetite, etc. I started giving him Pedialyte and wet food to try to gain back his strength and weight. It seemed to be working then one night he just got horribly sick, not breathing well... I called the er at 4-5 am and explained the situation. The receptionist on duty told me to bring him in, I did. The second I brought him in they took Skeeter in the back and said he was getting an Iv. My brother, nine months old infant, and myself thought get some fluids in him and things may get better, everytime I watched him eat and get Pedialyte through a syringe he would get up after and have energy. We got into the room and a nurse was trying to explain what might be wrong with him, then the doctor with a very difficult name starting with an M came in and was basically like we can't do anything, if we try it's going to be thousands of dollars. My heart is shattered at this point, I feel like an terrible pet owner I should've brought him in sooner... But each time I thought that in the back of my head I'd think he was gaining energy and walking more than he was, this can't be left Skeeter is only two and a half years old? The doctor specifically suggested that the best option would be to put him down, apparently he had really low blood sugar. My brother and I prepared to put him down, had the receptionist I had previously spoken to literally upselling us on how to burn our cat after his body was disposed of. She was like, you can spend $40 to know their ashes will be at a farm in the mountains, that was nice sounding to me, even though you know he may not have had to go. Then, the prices went up $90 for the ashes mixed with other animals from that day who died, $130 or something for your specific animal to be killed, thrown in an incinerator alone so you can get all of his ashes. Thinking of the lack of compassion in her voice infurates me still. Then, another nurse comes into ask if we want to see Skeeter, we did. Skeeter came in with an iv in his foot and seemed to be doing so much better. He was meowing and moving his head and body pretty normally. We were like, so what's wrong with him? He seems fine now. The nurse continued to tell me how it was only because of the medicine he was given, his blood sugar would drop again. My brother and I thought about it like, maybe it's diabetes, we could give him insulin each month, I'm willing to do anything for him at this point. I looked at the nurse and told her we changed our mind, we'd like to run some test you know to see if there was anything we could do for Skeeter. That nurse left, and the nurse who had come in with the doctor came in. She was like well let me break down all the pricing for you, the doctor had told us it would be minimum $1000 to run some tests to find out what was going on. Because they couldn't pinpoint specifically what was wrong with him they would've had to do an ultrasound, chest check, urinary tract check, that alone came to like $1500. Then, after Skeeter had that done, just staying there one night was $300. For the miscellaneous things the doctors needed it was another $1000. After hearing this knowing, they cared 0% about the life of my animal my mouth was just wide open. My brother suggested we try a credit check, we did. I got approved for $600. At this point, our only option was euthanizing him according to the doctor. In my opinion, the lack of trying from this entire staff was appalling. They were manipulating and insisting me to do exactly what they wanted, which was the least amount of work possible. Yes, I take full responsibility for not taking my pet in sooner. The past five days I haven't had him have been the worse knowing I could'e done more ithought I'd share my story because so others kow if this happens to you, never consider going to this inconsiderate, vile, death place. Sketter may still be here if they had cared more about their patients than time and money.

We came by to transfer our friend's dog from her daytime vet to Powers because her dog was going to be observed over night and she was at work. Our friend (the owner) had coordinated with both offices and informed everyone that we would be doing it on her behalf. She let us know that everything was good. We walked in to a half full waiting room (unsurprising, as we've been here before and most vet offices were closed at this time) with her dog and stepped up to the counter. We talked to a front desk staff member (her coworker said her name was Jen, short blonde hair, in a pony tail) and the entire interaction was beyond stressful/rude/overwhelming. We calmly let her know what we were there to do and gave a brief description of the situation. She immediately acted panicked and began loudly sighing and rubbing face as though she was too stressed to even speak with us. She tried to push off the situation as though she had no idea what was going on (which could very well have been the case) and mentioned there had been a shift change at 5 (we were there at about 6). We calmly let her know that the owner had spoke with staff at the office mad someone was aware of the situation and that the other vet office had even sent over an email with all the details. She didn't even attempt to find out if anyone knew anything before she began snapping at my husband and I. We took the check in forms she handed us and filled them out all while listening to her treat several other customers the same way. We even saw/overheard her doing the same to one of the vet techs. We in no way were upset with the other staff members, the wait or anything, but were unbelievably disappointed at this woman's complete inability to handle her job or give adequate customer service. I'm very understanding that this is one of the only emergency vet clinics in town and that they have a ton going on, but I think the owner/manager should really reconsider having staff members who can't handle the job or interact well with customers. For some, they are coming in during legitimate emergencies, are worried for their pets, or are having to say good bye and then they have to deal with this woman. It's completely unacceptable and she should either find another career or place of employment or be moved to the back where she doesn't interact with customers. Despite the few positives of the office, she was so off-putting and rude that I can't give the office more than 1 star. She is undoubtedly the worst vet employee I have ever encountered.

After a very tragic weekend and ultimately losing our 8 week old kitten I have to say that Powers Pet Emergency was absolutely amazing!! The staff was so compassionate and treated us with such care. Our Lillie, was given the best care she could have been. Dr. Price was amazing and kept us informed every step of the way. I called several times over the few days they had our baby girl and each time I was spoken to with respect and compassion. Unfortunately, despite all efforts we were unable to save our little girl but not for lack of trying. Thank you to Dr. Price and all the staff that helped Lillie and us. I would recommend you to time and time again to anyone that needs emergency services for their pet. From the first minute to the last y'all treated us, and our beloved pet as if we were the only ones that mattered even though you had a lobby full of owners with their pets. We saw the compassion and respect to pets and owners over and over again. The ONLY place my pets will go in case of emergency.

Amber Allen Reviews

They get the job done, but if you need compassion or anyone to feel like you need a sense of urgency for your hurt baby, this is not the place. But I guess you have too with the limited amount of emergency hospitals. Such a shame they can't have some courtesy for those of us who need it. Apparently their reply to my review from 19 hours ago tells them I'm some one who lost a pet back in November that's not me... Again, no real customer service training. Seriously, they really bed someone to step in.

Dr. Ko and his team are fantastic. I've been to many veterinarians across the country for my dog's seizures, and Dr. Ko has been the most knowledgeable and provided an actionable plan to treat his seizures and let us live a full life. Look forward to continuing working with him and his team in the future. Very professional, personable, and talented people.

Don’t bring anything in with your pet (shirt, blankets, dog collar and leash) unless you don’t want it back! They lost a queen sized quilt that’s 23 years old! They didn’t give it back with the animal. If you don’t ask at that point, then they’ll tell you that’s your fault. If you’re in the pet ER, chances are likely that you’re distraught and not always thinking clearly. It’s THEIR job to keep track of everything brought in with the animal.

I recently brought my cat in for an exam and was incredibly upset about the fact that she wasn’t eating or drinking since she came home from her regular vet. Her primary vet didn’t take the time with her that Dr. Korte did at Powers. He ran several tests, put the time in to explain it to my husband and I, and gave us a realistic diagnosis to prepare for the future. When I later realized that I would need more supplies to care for my cat, her vet forgot to leave them at the office, not once but twice. I called Powers and Dr. Korte was there (thank God!) and approved to supply us with more supplies. I am ever so grateful! I would also like to recognize Monica and Danielle, who were friendly and kind during our visit.

I just visited early this morning. Regrettably I had to put my Kobe down! Dr. Goddard and the staff was awesome. Caring, friendly and very understanding! Thank you for being there for me and my daughters!

A stressful interaction from start to end. The desk staff demonstrated a complete lack of compassion. I have never witnessed a worse bedside manner. Fortunately we drove 10 more minutes and found a fast and professional institution.

Tonight I was driving home from work at 10PM and saw a cat in the middle of the road. I googled emergency vets and got Powers. I called them and they answered right away. They suggested I bring him in even if he didn't make it (hard to tell at the time though it didn't look good) so they could check for a chip. Unfortunately, the cat had passed away by the time I reached the hospital. One vet came out to check for a heartbeat and a second came out to confirm it just in case. They brought him inside and checked for a microchip and told me the results super quickly (no owner). Nobody suggested I pay anything and when I asked, they said it would have been "good samaritan" vet care. I understand that it's still a cost of time and equipment to check for chips, take care of the body, etc. and I appreciate that they didn't charge me even though I'd have been willing to pay. Highly responsive and caring staff. Thanks so much guys.

I called Powers Pet Emergency, when my vet could no longer help me. When I called them they were able to answer my questions and give me suggestions. I am 3 hour drive away from any vet specialist and they were very helpful. And when I needed to cancel my appointment they were still very sincere and courteous on the phone. Though I have never been there I feel that their expertise on the phone was great enough that I would’ve driven 6 hours to get there. Thank you Powers Pet Emergency!!!

Goliath and I went to see Dr. Ko based off a referral from the Colorado Canine Orthopedic Center. Goliath had a brachial plexus avulsion in his front right leg due to a hit and run accident. We went in to the appointment with another nuerology consult under our belts, but I was hoping for an objective diagnostic to prove what I already believed. Dr Ko and his team were amazing. He was already familiar with Goliath's extensive file and had even called the night before to suggest fasting Goliath in order to be prepared to run diagnostics if it was deemed necessary. Dr Ko and his team genuinely cared about Goliath and we spoke at lengths about his condition and previous treatments. We decided to run an EMG in order to definitely determine the level of nerve function in Goliath's leg and the procedure was done immediately. As soon as the test was finished Dr Ko called me to go over the results. He spoke with compassion about the lackluster function in Goliath's leg and offered me a great deal of hope and perspective about Goliath's ability to live a full, happy life without the useless leg. Fast forward ten days and Goliath is an hour away from going into his amputation surgery. Conversation with his surgeon caused me to question if I was making the right decision. I immediately remembered Dr Ko's knowledge and compassion and gave him a call. Despite being in the middle of a very busy morning, he took a few minutes to offer his advice to me. He spoke to me not only as a medical professional, but as a friend. After we got off the phone I was confident that I was in fact making the best decision for my sweet boy. Dr Ko went far above and beyond for both Goliath and I.

I cannot express enough gratitude to Dr Ko, the Neurology team and the other staff members in the care of my little Isabella. We came to Powers Pet ER and Specialty at a time when her condition had created a low quality of life and uncertain outcome. After an intensive exam, treatment / medication plan and healing time ... Isabella is on the path to good health with a great quality of life and happiness. Based on her neurological diagnosis, she may start to decline again. If that day does happen, I'm confident the dedicated Neurology Team of Powers Pet Specialty will be right there with us trying to help her get back on track.

I had the intention the other night to post a positive review because too often people only post negative things, but after seeing the previous review by one Mrs. Heather Johnson I was so agitated that I could not even remember the positive things I wanted to say. I cannot stand the fact that people are abusive to customer service reps, and then hide behind a computer screen and write a nasty review trying to get that poor employee fired. Now that I am in a better mood I will write that positive review but 1st I want to respond and state what I observed on June 26. I was sitting in that same waiting room at Powers Pet ER when Mrs. Johnson arrived. I observed the whole interaction between the Johnson’s and the blond CSR with the ponytail (Yes, her name tag did say Jennifer). Heather Johnson did not calmly let the CSRs know what they were there for. In actuality Heather and her husband walked in the door like everyone should know exactly who they were and why they were there. The CSR was just trying to get information on how to TRIAGE the dog just brought in, and instead of helping her out and answering her question they were very rude and just kept repeating that she should already know why they were there. They did not calmly take the intake paperwork, but instead argued that the dog’s owner had already taken care of all this. CSR Jennifer DID try to get information from her co-workers about the dog, and was not snapping at people. I saw her ask 2 Techs from the back if they knew about the transfer from Briargate. She asked her fellow CSR if Day Shift told her about the transfer, and then asked her co-worker to check for any paperwork in the front desk area while CSR Jennifer checked for emails . She did not snap at the husband, he snapped at her about how she should already have the information and spoke to her like she was an idiot. That is when the CSR mentioned that there was a shift change at 5 pm and that if the dog’s owner had called the co-workers on the previous shift, they had not provided her shift a communication the dog was being transferred. She then apologized for the inconvenience and went back to checking for emailed records. In the meantime, I heard her call overhead 3 times “Transfer in Lobby” before a Tech arrived to help. If that CSR seemed frustrated could it possibly be that the process for transfers was broken, and in addition the 2 people standing in front of her who could be helping her to TRIAGE the pet are being rude and difficult? I’m sure “the entire interaction was beyond stressful/rude/overwhelming” FOR THE CSR Jennifer. Yes, I saw the CSR rub her temples and, also because I am a compassionate person who can look outside my own self-involved world, I immediately recognized she probably was suffering from a migraine headache. Maybe its because I’m a nurse, but she was obviously in physical pain. I apologize for the long rant but feel that its important that negative reviews written of self-entitled nastiness don’t go un-checked. That review was so horrible and filled with lies I felt compelled to respond. I had originally wanted to make a review stating how happy I was with my cat’s treatment at Powers Pet Emergency, and that a CSR named Jennifer (curvy, blonde ponytail) played a big role in my satisfaction. The night I brought my cat in even though it was busy, and Jennifer could have checked me in and moved on to the next person she showed concern for the fact that I mentioned a large lump in my pets stomach. Jennifer immediately called a nurse to the front just to look at her because what I described sounded abnormal. I heard her state to the nurse that she knew they were busy in the back, but she really wanted to make sure my cat was ok. I really appreciated the extra attention she paid to my cat. She also took the time to reassure me that Powers ER would take good care of my pet and promised that she would check on her and give her attention. I was over all very happy with the care we received at Powers Pet ER. I appreciate all that the DVMs, VT, and CSRs did for us.

Completely stressful interaction. Lack of flexibility, compassion for us a family and they lied to us. I will tell you the care they give the animals is here is good. I would say great care taken however, that would not be indicative of our overall experience. My dog cut his leg while running and doing what he does outside a few weeks ago and when we brought him here we were told the cost for care. Which was fine we paid it. However, it felt like after the fact there were hidden costs and hoops that we were made to jump through. We may not be an "a-typical" family but there are reasonable accommodations that could have or should have been made. I understand aftercare is necessary and we are happy to have been made aware of the need for it. With our lives being the way they are it makes coming in every three days for three weeks is not a possibility within our family. With that said we were told there would be additional costs associated with coming back in for after care after the treatment was completed. Not cool! if that was the case it could have and should have been associated with the upfront cost and disclosed at that time. It is not something to be brought up casually after the fact when no other option could be used. Furthermore if the dressing needs to be changed and your clients owner requests to do it please provide materials for us to do it. If not tell us what we need to do and buy. Not too unreasonable I don't think? When a family is asking to be able to drop off their pet to have a routine procedure because their family life does not allow for them to come in and wait, please take it into consideration as a one off. It is not right or fair to have to flip our entire life upside down to make extraordinary arraignments to cater to you as opposed to the other way around especially when you have previously stated that you would allow for it. In your life things this simple may be allowed, be considerate of others and understand our circumstances may not be the same. In closing I would like to say this place is not horrible, the policies may need to have someone look them over. Disclose all costs upfront so that a educated and informed decision can be made about total care, Take the time to consider things as they present themselves to you and dont just use the compassionate-less statement " Its just our policy", Finally above all else, DONT MISLEAD YOUR CLIENTS. Say one thing and mean it.

I was very frantic the morning I had to bring my girl in, and the staff at the front was very polite and very fast with getting the info they needed, and I did not have to wait long to be seen by the doctor. Dr Chambers was very understanding and polite, and was very kind about how my dog felt about being touched in particular areas. They made sure I was ok with what they were doing every step of the way, and they never made me feel stupid for asking any questions. The visit was very expensive, but when I visited my girl in the evening, the staff was again very polite, and she was in good spirits. I can’t say enough about how well my dog and myself were treated here, and even with the price, I would be back here just because of the staff. Thank you!!

I can only say that we are so fortunate to have this facility and doctors here in the Springs. In the past, I have been to ER in 3 different states. Yes they were busy, but busy means they are doing something right. As far as cost, I still have to see a "CHEAP" ER hospital. My girl friend's dog was very sick and critical. They rushed him to the back. Kept us informed all the time we were at the front waiting for a room. Dr Price was very informative, but above all you can see the compassion and understanding, and the room tech (Sorry but I forgot her name) was very compassionate and knew her job. I was reading some of the previous reviews, most of them complained for money and cost. Probably their first time in an ER. I will recommend this facility to my friends and neighbors. I just hope I will not need their services, but if I do, I know they will do an excellent job.

I have used this place several times and have always had a good experience. Friday, my dog got out of his cone after having been neutered the week before. He chewed at the stitches and was bleeding pretty badly. We rushed him in, but the bleeding had almost stopped. They looked him over and said he would be fine and to watch him for infection and see our regular vet if it looks worse. His vitals were fine. We were not charged for this visit. They gave us a leash and a pad for the car in case he bled on the way home. I am so grateful that they looked him over for us and didn't charge us anything. They didn't have to do that. They could have hit us with fees, the visit alone is usually at least 100 bucks to start when it's an emergancy. They saw he was fine and we were being over sensitive to poor fur baby and didn't take advantage of us like some places would have. I'm so impressed with them. I wish they would build one on the south side of town!

This veterinarian office is absolutely ridiculous. I called late at night because my dog had horrible diarrhea and she had been vomiting and she had began to have bloody diarrhea badly. So I called and ask if I could bring her but I didn’t have an extreme amount of money to give them that night because I just recently moved here so I didn’t have anything to put down, however I got paid the next day and I said I could pay it then. They denied me of seeing my dog because I didn’t have any money to get her in. This is supposed to be and emergency vet clinic. These people definitely only care about money more than they do your pets. The lady I spoke with was also talking to me like I was dumb and barely helped me. If I could give zero stars i would, definitely would not recommend going here.

Unfortunately, I had to take my tiny Chihuahua into the veterinary hospital last Monday, Labor Day. He had oral surgery a couple of weeks ago and we had to switch his food out to “wet” food vs his usual kibble and that lead to digestion issues. He was in a tremendous amount of pain and I was super worried and stressed. Upon arrival, there were only a few people in the waiting room and they quickly got us into a room. They took his vitals, did some blood work and then we waited. And waited. And waited. I could hear lots of commotion going on in the lobby. A lot of poor fur babies were coming in that were seriously injured or sick. I completely undo that these life and death emergencies took priority over over our tummy ache. People who’ve posted negative reviews based on the wait time should be a little more compassionate in regards to other families who are there because their fur-babies are in serious trouble & in a few cases we saw, dying. The staff, nurses and doctor we saw were all very friendly and caring. I wouldn’t hesitate to take my animals back to the hospital- go to your regular veterinary unless it’s a true emergency. We only went because it was a Holiday and our vet was closed however, we couldn’t wait an extra day to get Copper medicine to be comfortable. We left with two medicines, instructions for a new diet and lots of positive reinforcement for mom that he would be just fine. A day later, he was back to normal. Thanks to everyone and for the follow up phone call 3 Days later and long chat about his improvements and how caring for these tiny guys is different than most dogs as they are quite sensitive. Thanks again everyone!!

We brought our dog in with a high fever a difficulty breathing. That was at 10pm.They said we need to get the fever down immediately. I agreed and they took her back to the treatment area. 3 and a half hours later they took us into a room and said the Dr will be right in. 45 minutes later he comes in. Then begins to explain what they want to do and tell us we need to pay around $625.00 to "start treating her. So she was laying in a cage whith nothing done to her yet. And that it would be another several hours before she would be done. This Dr was so full of excuses that it was almost funny to watch. Of course now im steaming. They say they specialize as emergency vet service. But, according to this guy they are understaffed. Which means this is nothing more than a money making business and the animals are just a means to the bottom dollar. I see no compassion for the animals in this owner. He would rather pocket the overpriced billing instead of having the staff to do the job. The Dr said he sees lots of turnover in ths staff. Well working in a place like this would be asking for it. To sum it up in my opinion and experience at this place. Don't take your pet here unless you don't really care about the outcome or your time. There is no way I ever go back. We wound up leaving and seeking treatment elsewhere. We got into another emergency vet and were seen and had treatment started witbin 5 minutes. This vet cared about my dog. Powers emergency clinic is the worst place I have ever seen in my 62 years having all different kinds of animals. Don't waste your time or your pets life going there!

We have had 2 exemplary experiences with Powers Pet emergency. My beagle Sullivan had a life-saving, emergency operation here a few years back. The staff at Powers successfully performed what I'm told was a very complicated surgery. More recently we have been working with the knowledgeable Dr. Cichocki and her wonderful tech Jasmine to address a kidney infection/ectopic ureter issue. We have been impressed with the outstanding level of care, professionalism and (especially) communication throughout Sullivan's entire diagnostic and treatment process. We are provided thorough and periodic updates, technical and layman's descriptions of Sullivan's problems, and answers to all of our questions.

They took my dog back immediately due to her chronic illness, which was nice. However, once they tested her blood and that was normal, they let her sit in the waiting area with us while she threw up blood consistently and abundantly. She should have been prioritized more. We got there at 9pm, and were there til 5 because other “emergencies” kept coming up. My dog needed assistance just as much as any other dog there. She hadn’t eaten in 3 days and kept throwing up blood. In the end, they charged us 1000$ to say “maybe it’s an ulcer?” and sent us home without any real answers. My dog is still not completely better. Why’d I spend so much money? Finally, to the girl who was working the front desk during those early hours of the morning (the larger girl with thinning hair), you need to learn how to read social cues. No one wants to hear your yammering away, all happy go lucky, when it’s 3 am and they are concerned for their pets life. I gave you every nonverbal sign that you needed to stop talking, I shouldn’t have had to explicitly ask you to leave me alone. You do not work in a retail store where you should be sparking happy conversations. I’m sorry you’re bored but learn to shut up.

Kelly Trillhaase

Do not go here. I went in and 5 hours and $600 later they couldn’t tell me anything and I left without a solution. They took X-rays and said they couldn’t really see anything and there’s a 50:50 chance something is wrong... great thanks. Took him home and he continued to throw everything up that he ate. We took him to a different er and they did X-rays and it was EXTREMELY obviously that he had a blockage that needed to be taken care of right away. I can’t believe they just sent us home with inconclusive results. I will NEVER go back here. They are understaffed and honestly doesn’t feel like they are very knowledgeable in their field. 10minutes= an hour here.

Jordan Beckwith

They have always done a great job of taking care of my pets. Often times the wait times are very long but that's just now it goes sometimes.

On Sunday evening we had brought Bella to this facility since she had a high fever, wasn't standing up, not eating or drinking. When we brought her in that night the waiting area was packed. We had thought that we were gonna have to wait but the front desk staff had paged a nurse to the front right away and that nurse had taken Bella to the back. I want to say 30 minutes later that same nurse had told us that Bella's sugar levels were low and she was hooked up to a IV. We had thought she was gonna be okay and we could bring her back home with us. We were in waiting area 5 and we could hear staff members and the Dr not being professional at all. They were talking bad about a co worker who had told them something so that was a interesting conversation to hear. Within a few hours we were taken to a waiting area where we were told a Dr and Nurse would speak with us. First the Dr. had came in I forgot his name but he had said Bella was really sick pup he just kept saying on how sick she was and how they needed to run all these tests bloodwork and xrays on her. Bella has a primary vet that she goes to and I had let the Dr know that Bella had a UTI a few weeks ago and high blood pressure. He has a lack of symphony, plays on customers emotions, condescending, and I had honestly disliked him from the start. Next he sent in a tech to get Bella's history and to go over a treatment plan with us. When we would ask if she needed hospitalization what that cost would be but no one could give us a price only a guess I have so many questions and now I live with this guilt. I am not sure on why you would charge us and get our hopes up knowing that our dog was dying and she couldn't be saved at all. When the Dr came in the 2nd time he had said her care would be $2500 or more. How she was a really sick pup this Dr also called my dog a him. I had mentioned taking Bella out of their care and to her primary vet and The dr had the nerve to say that when we brought in Bella she was gonna pass away so you knowingly charged us money when my dog was already passing also he became upset at the mention of her being seen by someone else. He had said well she will passaway at home than and wont make it to the vet, The dr we had to ask him to leave to give us sometime to talk about Bellas care. We had decided that we didn't want Bella to suffer and she is no longer with us. My rating is on how the Dr treated us and still charged us knowing she was in no shape of surviving everyone else was so nice and sympathetic he needs to realize that Bella was a loved family member of our household. I had just lost my grandma 4 months ago and now I have lost my best friend forever. I just want maybe some charges to be reimbursed since we were charged for stuff knowing our dog was dying.

We just lost our pet this morning and we just moved to Colo Springs. I looked for an emergency vet and we rushed to the ER. Compassionate, caring and just made me feel at peace. Putting our pet down was so hard, but we didn't feel alone. The staff was amazing
