Dr Coufal spayed both my dogs and in my 40 years of a pet parent I've never had such a perfect procedure. His stitches we perfect and he has taken such care of my youngest dog that was diagnosed with seizures.

After being in the hospital for 3 days after a c-section for my daughter we came home and our dog was acting wierd. We had neighbors watching her and we originally thought she was just stressed from all the action of us having a baby and being gone can cause. She started to get worse. Within 2 days of being home we were so worried, exhausted, and honestly didn't know what to do. We took her in to Ponderosa as a new patient and they were able to get her fixed up quickly! They were kind and so very helpful to my now new family of 4. They took a lot of stress off us and fixed up our Layla girl who was better with in the week, thanks to antibiotics and a knowledgeable doctor. I will continue to use them for my animal's care from here on out. Thank you guys so very much!

I brought my recently adopted rescue puppy here for his neuter. It was set up through the rescue I adopted him from, so it was included in the adoption price. Still, they were very nice and polite even though they aren't our regular vet. The receptionist was so friendly and the vet came out to personally talk me through the aftercare instructions. The facility smelled clean and the lobby was small but inviting. If you live in there area, I highly recommend them to be your permanent vet!

We have been taking our dogs to Dr. Coufal since we moved the area 5 years ago. We had 2 jack Russell terriers that received excellent care up until their last days at the age of 15 years. Dr. Coufal is always very kind and compassionate and honest and upfront about prognoses. We have a new fur baby that is scheduled to go meet Dr. Coufal in a few weeks! Could not recommend a better vet!

On the rare occasion when my husband is faced with making decisions on our kitties' health without me, I told him to take them to Ponderosa Vet Clinic and do whatever Dr. Coufal or Dr. Carrol says to. These standing orders haven't failed is. I have never trusted a clinic so completely before to do the right thing by their critter patients and by the owners- they always take cost into account when recommending treatments and don't try to upsell anything if what I need can be gotten less expensively elsewhere. They are also completely transparent and honest on the health of your pet. I've worked with them on numerous hospice kitties and they never prematurely recommended euthanasia, so when they finally say it's time to say goodbye, I know it's truly time. Ponderosa Veterinary Clinic stands as a bastion to what vet practices should be- dedicated to animal well being- not what many have tragically started to become, chorister corporate-run money grabs.

I cannot say enough good things about Ponderosa Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Coufal. We have brought our pets (dogs and cat) in for everything from the ordinary vaccines to that unavoidable "putting down." Each time, the technicians and the veterinarians treat the animals with sincere care and affection. It is a pretty regular sight for all of the humans in the exam room to be sitting on the ground to be closer to the pets. In fact, when Dr. Coufal comes in the room, he usually gets right on the ground and pets our dogs, sneakily feeling for any abnormalities while gaining their trust. Any needles or vaccinations are completely free of trauma as a result. Even if the clinic is busy, we never feel rushed. We always get undivided, careful, compassionate attention. I would go out of my way to continue taking my pets here!

I cannot say enough good things about Ponderosa Veterinary Clinic. They understand how to treat every ailment from stiff joints to digestive problems that are common with older dogs like my two. Never do they recommend a treatment that isn’t necessary, and their prices are incredibly reasonable. Initially, I was referred to them by a family member. My Australian Shepherd was bitten by a neighborhood dog shortly after arriving in Colorado Springs. It was not a pretty sight. Dr. Coufal was kind-hearted, very gentle & diligent about treating the injury (for a while, I was going in every other day for bandage changes). I was amazed at how quickly my dog recovered, and also, dare I say, how inexpensive the treatment costs were. Dr. Coufal even showed me how to change the bandages properly and gave me extra supplies. Dr. Carrol has also been wonderful with both of my dogs during recent examinations. He has a gift with calming scared dogs. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the great vet techs and administrative staff. I always feel welcomed, they all clearly love working with animals, and they jump through hoops to make sure you can get in when needed. You will love Ponderosa & their awesome team!

Amazing Vet Clinic and Staff! A couple weeks ago my puppy got extremely sick wouldn’t eat, drink, or move. I took him to the ER; however, their prices were ridiculous and staff wasn’t super helpful. This was the first time my dog had ever gotten this sick and I was absolutely freaking out about costs but mostly his health. I took him to another clinic for additional testing and found out he needed emergency surgery, and that they didn’t offer that level of treatment. I spent a good hour calling every vet clinic and everyone said they couldn’t see him or couldn’t help. I called Ponderosa, and they were fully booked as well. I left my number with the front desk and they call back in a couple minutes saying they would make it work and fit him in. Truly amazing people, everyone stayed late that day to take care of my dog. Also the days that followed the vet called to check up on him, he really cared about the well-being of my dog. They were very honest with treatments and prices. 10 out of 10 would recommend to any pet owner.

Fantastic and affordable vet. I had an emergency where my dog needed immediate surgery from cutting her leg severely. He made room and got her in right away. The whole staff was very caring. I had my Bella back home with me the same day and all fixed up. He estimated the costs and not only was it affordable, the final bill was UNDER what he quoted. Amazing clinic! The staff at Ponderosa are wonderful. We have been bringing out senior dog to them since we moved here a few years ago and have always gotten great, prompt, service at a cost that certainly beats everywhere else we have been. A couple weeks ago, we discovered a mass in our dog's mouth. Dr. Carrol was upfront but compassionate in discussing the possibilities, fit him in for surgery the next day even though they were really busy. The staff is always willing to answer questions and is very knowledgeable about our pet. When we discovered our dog had cancer, Dr. Coufal didnt hesistate to take time with us to help us make the most difficult decision we have ever made. When it came time to say goodbye, the whole staff treated us and our dog with compassion, respect, and patience. We would recommend this clinic to anyone and will certainly be bringing our pets here in the future.

This place is a hidden gem!! I have driven past it 1000 times, having no idea it was there! I was referred by a friend and was blown away by how quickly we got in! The facility was super clean and the staff was fantastic! I meet with Dr. Coufal, he spent so much time with us, going over what our dogs possible issue was and he even had me get up close to see what he was talking about, he made it crystal clear with language anyone could comprehend. Dr. Coufal made me feel like I was in control with the decisions for a treatment plan. I was thrilled he DID NOT push or even suggest running "extra tests" and we agreed to see if antibiotics does the trick BEFORE we talk about other options! We even updated our vaccines when we were there! I am so proud to announce, we have officially found our home vet! All y'all are great, but hopefully won't have to see you till we need to update our vaccines! Thank you Dr. Coufal & Staff! I too will spread the word about how amaizing you and your office is!
