REVIEWS OF Northwest Animal Hospital & Pet Care Center IN Colorado

Since I was 5 years old and my parents got me my first dog, my entire family has brought our pets here. The Veternarians are always knowledgeable, friendly, and have known our pets by their names walking in the door. They were there my senior year of high school when we had to put my first pup down after having her for 12 years and were willing to come to our house to put her down because they knew she didn’t do well with car rides and was very nervous coming to the Vet’s. They have provided amazing grooming services and recommendations to keep my dog happy and healthy.

I love Northwest animal Hospital we love Dr Kocher she is wonderful

Kristin Friel

Northwest was amazing! They were the only people that could/would get my baby in on such short notice, which saved his life.

Katie Linnell

We love working with everyone at Northwest Animal Hospital! They take great care of our dog between day care, boarding and vet needs. Can't recommend them enough!

This was our first time here and everyone was excellent! We needed a kennel and daycare that could keep our dog while he had stitches while we were out of town. Northwest Animal did a great job!

The staff is very friendly and they care about your pets well being.

Bill Quinn

Absolutely the worst vet office i have ever been at. I absolutely regret ever taking my puppy here. The building is not well kept, and it smells terrible. The staff is very uncaring. The vets do not know what they are doing. The whole vet office has a very unprofessional demeanor about them. I would never recommend anyone to go here. If you care about your dog or cat you should look up other vet offices, and take your business elsewhere. I truly believe it could be one of the worst vet facilities in Colorado Springs.

Jessica Cox

First off the veterinarian was wearing a dress... How do you actually get hands on in your job with that attire as well as they laid it out as if there is only one blood work option for an animal. They also did not explain the estimate and dont have any option other than the one they give givewirhout further discussion with the veterinarian. Very frustrating from what I had heard about them, will never ever go there again thats for sure!

This Doctor is great--very knowledgeable and wants to take care of the pet completely. Dawn in the grooming has been taking care of my dogs for at least 15 years and that should speak for itself!

Great animal services including boarding.

Pricey. But the care is exceptional. I recommend investing in TruPanion pet insurance as they accept that.

I do not feel like there's personalized service here. And the prices are outrageous. I have gone to a nother animal hospital now and it has been a lot less expensive and has had personalized feeling care for your loved pet

I went to this vet because it was close to my home. BIG MISTAKE! They have terrible communication between their staff. I am highly unsatisfied with their concern and level of care for my dog. I do not like the way we were handled. Would NOT recommend. I was quoted to pay one price and then told to pay another higher price. I was transferred to talk to several different techs, neither of which had any real answers for me. My concern is my DOG, not the politics of your office. Additionally, my dog received a rabies shot and I did not get the certificate. I had to call back, I was told by the office manager that she did NOT get a rabies shot. Later on the call she said she'd found the rabies certificate. They did not charge me for it and it would be another fee to retrieve it. Will never return

This vet is amazing! About 4 days ago my dog started seeming a little off... that night I could tell she was in a ton of pain and she didn’t sleep at all, wouldn’t eat anything, and was just miserable. I could tell the pain was coming from her mouth and wanted to get whatever was wrong fixed ASAP. The next morning I called the vet we usually see (which is in our home town of Castle Rock), all the vets in the Denver metro area, and not a single one was willing to do any dental work the day of. It was recommended to me that I try Northwest Animal Hospital, and even though they were basically booked for they day they were able to squeeze my pup in between appointments. She ended up having multiple teeth extracted, and one sealed on that very day! She is already doing SO much better, and I owe it all to both Dr. Lisenbee and Dr. Van Valin. They truly care about your animals and their well being, and are willing to go the extra mile to get them feeling better. Emma says thank you!!

Andrew Morrison

I was very happy with my experience. I appreciated the follow up call from the doctor. I also liked that I was given a cost breakdown of the suggested care before any action was taken. The service was friendly and fast too.

Katie Farr

We TRUST Northwest with our much loved little dachshund Blue Boy. That’s the bottom line. Also, we like the convenience of being able to drop him off at ONE LOCATION and have him groomed and seen by the vet for routine shots, tests, etc.

William Mahar

Dr. Albert was compassionate caring, their entire staff was helpful and patient

Connie Martin

I appreciate that I can bring Abby in, drop her off, get a call and go from there. Your staff is nice and easy to work with as well as professional. Thank you for the love and care you give Abby each time she comes in.

Glenice Bess

We have been with you since probably the late 90’s and have grown so attached to the staff and the doctors. Everyone strives to go above and beyond what is required of them. We so appreciate all of you: your caring ways, the compassion you display, your welcoming smiles and “Good Mornings!”, your helpfulness…. WOW!! Thank you all so much for providing a safe place where we can bring our “girlie girls” and know they are getting the best of the best care from all of you!!!

Our Wiemereiner “Miles” was down, down hard to be exact. Not sure exactly what was wrong with him even still to this day. My Wife had taken him to another vet in town, but they simply prescribed some antibiotics and sent them on their way. Fast forward three days later, his condition had worsened. So early in the morning I searched for another vet online, thank God I found Northwest Animal Hospital. They literally cared for my Boy as if he was their own. Dr. Lisenbee ran some blood work, prescribed some pain killer/ anti inflammatory mediciation and followed up several times with us. I’m so impressed with the service, that we’re looking forward to Miles next appointment. If you’re on the fence about finding a caring vet, look no further. Thanks Northwest Animal Hospital

Chris Bourbon

Great group of people, really made the visit bearable.

Larry Green

We have been taking our dogs here for about 10 years now. The doctors have always treated us with respect and given great care for the dogs. They are always willing to talk, give advice and they go the extra mile. I highly recommend them.

April Getz

We love Dr. Kocher!

Eric Williams

I've had my dog and my son's cat here on many occasions. My observations are... 1) Wait time is never more that 5 minutes. It's so unlike my regular doctor! 2) Staff is SO friendly, from reception to tech to doctor....superb service! 3) They obviously care about my animals. Cost is a bit steep...that is my only issue with this office.

Erin Gerrells

They truly treat your animals like they would their own!

Rachel Kennedy

Mindy Hainey

Very caring staff and thorough vets.

Jandi Keum

This place is amazing. For me, my dog’s healthcare is both about quality of the service but also about making me feel listened to and keeping me informed. We have been here a few times now to see Dr Lisenbee, who is very knowledgeable + goes above and beyond for his patients. We’ve only been here for office visits but it’s very clean in general so I would think that their surgical area is the same way. I think the prices here are fair for office visits and blood testing - vaccinations seem a little steep but I guess everything is compared to Vetco. Also, they have a roomy parking lot. Finally, I was impressed that I didn’t have to move a finger to get my dog’s insurance claim filed - the receptionist did it for me without my asking. Can you tell I love this place?

We just recently moved here from Seattle Washington to Colorado Springs I was looking for a veterinarian to get my dog his shots and did not have a veterinarian here so I was not sure where to turn to and I took a chance and went to Northwest Animal Hospital and the place was awesome the staff were awesome the prices were way lower than I thought they were going to be and they were honest with us and told us that our dog did not need certain shots which by the way they did not have to tell us that and they could have charged us for those shots but they did not and they were honest if I could rate them 10 Stars I would so yes I do highly recommend this place they are aces in my opinion and they have my business forever.

Wonderful staff! Great prices! Caring and knowledgeable vets! Making this our permanent place for our furry family members.

We took our cat here when she got sick. We, unfortunately, ended up having to put her to sleep, but the staff was very friendly and compassionate during the ordeal.

Sam Brookefeld

There's nowhere I'd rather take my pets, although they're a little too reliant on testing for dispensation of antiparasitics, despite prophylactic treatment being practically mandatory for their health and clinical signs being pretty easy to recognize.

Genesis De Leon

I absolutely love our vet at Northwest. The staff has always been fantastic to us. The reason I did not give it 5 stars and my family has decided to go to another vet is the price. They are literally at least twice and sometimes 3 times more than any other vet I have ever been to. The final stray was the flu shot. I have to board my dogs for a week while some work is done on our house. I brought my dogs in for the flu shot that boarding requires and found out they could only do a flu shot that was good for 4 weeks then I would have to bring them back again after that for one that is good for a full year. That is their corporate policy. Basically that is their corporate way of milking every single penny out of customers that they possibly can. Again this is not the staff's fault at all. They do not have any control over this. I went to the counter to pay and I was charged $116 for a flu shot that only lasted 4 weeks for 2 dogs!!!!! Banfield would have charged me $50 for a flu shot that lasted an entire year total for both dogs. Another vet in town quoted me $60 and all were the full year not 4 weeks! At this point all my dogs shots, a check up, and some antibiotics, pro biotic and medicine because they got into a fight with a racoon cost us almost $1000 dollars! More than any other vet in the area that I have talked to. Literally almost twice other vets. I love out vet with Northwest so much. She is amazing with our extremely large and active Siberian husky and our american husky but my family just can't afford them. I hope so much someone else takes over this animal hospital and lowers the prices to something normal so we can go back.

Chelsi Jiminez

My boy Charlie had a huge lump on his foot that was bothering him quite a bit and so I took him in and instead of the vet trying to tell me he needed this really expensive surgery for something we weren't sure would even help, she gave me different affordable options that we could try instead and they worked. I cant thank her enough as a mother of 3 children finances are a big deal and Charlie is our family so I would have done anything to make him better at any cost but she did not take advantage of us. Thank you so much.

There is simply no professional veterinary office BETTER than Northwest ANYWHERE.....PERIOD. We have all had emergency and preventive care needs for our four-legged family members and I am so grateful for the compassion and absolute dedication that is exhibited by the entire staff. THANK YOU, Bill, Shirley and FRASER

Dr. Lisenbee has been absolutely wonderful. Our dog has to have surgery and they've been great about working her in and seeing her asap. They have been great with communication with both me and my husband about every step of the process and have been willing to answer all of our questions. We've been going to Northwest for a few years now and wontwontw be taking our dog anywhere else! Thanks for all you guys do!

They were amazing. I had brought my 16 year old poodle mix in, they did everything within my budget to help him feel more comfortable. A month later we knew he wasn’t going to be with us for much longer, so we called to discuss options because I couldn’t bring myself to bring him in to euthanize him. They told us about Peaceful Partings, a home service, and they were beyond amazing. I was very happy that they did not try to push us into bringing our dog there. Then a couple of weeks later Northwest Animal Hospital sent a personalized note about our dogs passing. I will be taking all of our dogs there form now on.

Very friendly staff from the front desk to assistance help and main doctors. They are very spacious inside and thats because they do it all from animal hospital duties to grooming to doggy camp. This place is amazing and very affordable. I truly recommend and from this day forward this is the only Vet hospital for my boy/dog Capone

Good stuff

The staff was extremely sensitive to my needs, expressed and unexpressed. They "heard" me! NICE! Looking forward to returning and getting JJ in a good place healthwise. He's already feeling much better, and so am I!

James Wessely

The front desk people are extremely friendly and most helpful and they provide a most positive first impression. I am very impressed with the boarding side of the clinic, both for overnight boarding as well as doggy daycare. It is just most convenient as well as reassuring to know that our Golden Retriever, Boston, can play, stay and be cared for by first class veterinarians and staff whenever he goes to the Northwest Animal Hospital and Pet Care Center.

Jenny Long

If you want your animals treated right, go here. Prices may be a bit higher but you can not beat the staff and how they take care of my dogs. Hands down best place in town!

I called to get my dog spayed and they were able to get me in the next day. Everyone working there was so nice and caring. You can really tell that they all love what they do and the animals they work with. I would recommend this vet to anyone!

Dr. Kocher is an excellent addition to the team :-)

Melanie Steele

I like the vet, Dr. Lisenbee. I also liked the technician that we saw. I do not like the atmosphere. The woman at the front desk is the reason that I left. She works mainly in the morning and has a nose piercing ring. Brown wavy hair with possibly some gray. She was always so rude. Even when I brought my dog in to go to daycare she has a very condescending tone. I called to make an appointment because my dog was having stomach issues and I mentioned that I changed food again and she quickly said you changed it again!? My dog had just been in for this same exact thing and I asked if I could bring a stool sample by and she said I still had to bring the dog in. I understand that but I cannot deal with her rudeness anymore. I called and asked to speak to the manager and was never called back. The message I left said that I did not want to leave a review I would prefer to talk to somebody about my issue. I never got a call back and this was over two weeks ago. I have since switch veterinarians.

We brought our dog in and the vet immediately diagnosed with need of TPLO repair; he assured us that he had done this type of surgery on many dogs with great results. Our guy was rather large at over 80 lbs. The surgery went horribly wrong, from the very start and we had nothing but complications with no healing in sight. I finally realized something was wrong and took him to an Orthopedic surgeon and they showed that a tendon was severed during the first surgery by NW Animal Hospital. They immediately completed surgery on his leg in an attempt to repair the "meatball" surgery done by Northwest. We are still not sure if the leg will be saved - time may indicate, but there is a chance that complete amputation will be necessary. The vet at NWest was made aware of his critical error and he has had no further contact with us - no apology, no money back (we spent over $3,000 with their office) - no nothing. We are now over $7,000 out of pocket, with a dog that, in the best situation, will be crippled. Please read this and DO NOT use this hospital.

Applied online for a position there recently. Had a call from a lady there (not mentioning names) and the interviewer was not very nice. She seemed upset that I was going to school and trying to get a part time job. Seemed like she asked more questions just to judge me for what I wanted to do for my life. Coming from my side, I wouldn't even dare work in a place that wasn't proffesional from the very start! No telling what the work place environment was like. The phone interviews here need to be worked on. Thanks for the opportunity and time.

Shelby Kerndt

i use this vet because it is close to my house, and every time i have come in, it has taken at least 30 minutes to be seen by a vet. the fact that we wait that long for such brief information and assistance is very frustrating. they get the job done but i will probably be going to another vet, the staff here is simply not personable and not the type of people i would trust to care for my pet.

So its been a while since I had the misfortune of dealing with NW animal hospital, and that may be for the best as I was enraged to say the least with my experience. First of all I have a Great Dane and i know her treatment is costly for anything, the bigger the dog the more medicine needed etc. that being said however I got charged twice what I would have gotten charged at my regular vet (I asked after this horrible experience). I took Athena in and she had parvo, I was told I would get a call twice a day updating me on her condition and i did not. I in fact had to call in any time I wanted an update on my baby and was still not given an answer on her progress and they didn't allow me to visit (as my regular vet would have, they in fact encourage visitation because it raises morale) and I could never get a straight answer out of anyone. Each phone call even that day would be black and white (she's doing great and will be out tomorrow, and later that day would be told she needed three more days of hospitalization) I understand these things can fluctuate but don't say that shell be released if she wont. I eventually pulled her out of their care and gave her subcutaneous fluids at home. The only reason these people deserve one star is because they did manage to help my dog get better. But if not for that i wish i could give them nothing. If you ever need a vet check out Centennial Animal Hospital. They're my regular vet and they're amazing and very communicative.

Vanessa Los

Excellent place for my dog's first vet visit. Very understanding and kind people. They listened to our endless questions with tons of patience. Can't wait to come back!

The Doctors and Staff At Northwest Animal Hospital are amazing. Since moving my pets to this vet in the beginning of 2011, I have received nothing but exceptional service and cannot praise the doctors and staff enough. Thank you.

David Ferguson

Dr. Kocher and staff were just wonderful. They treated Mica as if she were one of their family. The staff at Northwest answered all of my questions and gave me a full explanation as to various treatment options.

Mallory Pridemore

My newly adopted cat started bleeding and I called around to every vet close to me. I called Northwest Animal Hospital and they got me in to a room 15 minutes after I called. The staff was so friendly and understanding that I was a new pet owner. They had her tests done sent me home with some things to do. Every time I had a frantic question, I called and the front desk answered the question or they went to go grab our vet, Dr. Lisenbee. Dr Lisenbee is the friendliest vet I have ever experienced. He truly cares about his patients and the owners. Dealing with a crazy first time cat owner can be hard but this team handled it with flying colors. I would recommend this vet to any person in the area with any pet. Very affordable, kind, loving, and convenient.

Michael Carnahan

Everyone who I have encountered here is beyond pleasant and obviously has a passion for working with animals. also the price is extremely reasonable for top-notch veterinary care.

Qubesmommy Lanpher

We absolutely love the whole staff. They took amazing care of our little Tinkerbell and went above and beyond in their follow-up and caring phone calls. When we lost our baby girl, it was felt by the whole staff. When we got a new pup, they were joyous with us. I've never had such a caring vet and staff before. They really do care for and about your four legged babies.

I've been using them for my dog when she needs to be kennels and for vet services. Friendly and great with my 115 lb Mastiff mix. She comes home happy and not showing any signs of negative treatment.

Rowan Foster

The staff were very kind and worked hard to schedule us at the last minute. I felt their prices were fair and upfront. I also learned a bit about how to better care for my cat. Thank you.

Mason Silver

The staff was friendly and treated my dog very well. They were open and honest with me about what would be the best treatment method for her and didn't try to Pedal me extra stuff I didn't need. Will recommend to my friends.

I decided to go to this place because it was close to home and I had used their groomer in the past and had a great experience with them. However, I do not recommend this place as a vet clinic. My dog had been vomiting with diarrhea for two days. The doctor that I had an appointment with was nice but didn’t seem eager to solve my pup’s issues. I explained my dog’s symptoms and what was going on. The vet took a stool sample and stated it would be about 15 to 20 mins before the test was done. After being forgotten and waiting in the waiting room for 50 minutes, I left the room and got one of the front desk to get the vet. When she returned she never apologized and just stated that the sample was normal. The vet completely disregarded the reason I brought my dog in and began to state that she noticed that my dog was not up to date on shots. I explained I switched vets and wasn’t aware she wasn’t up to date, so she gave my dog a flu shot and another shot and sent me on my way. My dog then continued to throw up and started to act lethargic after the appointment and part of that was because they did give her the flu shot. When explaining the story to my current vet they stated that was the worst thing they could have done because my dog was already ill. In addition to that my vet said that northwest had over vaccinated my dog, and that my dog was up to date on all her shots and didn’t need the ones they gave her. I will never recommend them!

Liz Bohnen

My dog Baxter had a skin sore from an infected bug bite or allergic reaction. (Won't ever know exactly what it was) He had itched it to the point of being raw. :( Dr. Williams was great! She took time to get to know him and tried to make him more comfortable. You can tell she and her techs really care about their patients and their pet-parents! She quickly diagnosed an infected skin hotspot, prescribed an efficient steroid/antihistamine combo to stop the itching and inflammation and antibiotic/probiotic combo to kill off any infection without killing all the good flora in his gut. (I'm a pharmacy tech, and dogs aren't so different from humans...) Since he was itching like a fiend and it was on his neck, a cone wouldn't work, she suggested putting human socks on his back feet and taping them with vet wrap. Worked wonderfully, even if he hated his "boots"! Definitely bringing all my pets here from now on.

I have taken our dog Kaci to Northwest Animal Hospital since we adopted her in 2012. The experience has always been great. The staff is always friendly and caring. Special Kudos to Dawn and the grooming staff. They are always cheerful and Kaci always looks great when I pick her up. I will continue to go the Northwest Animal Hospital for all of Kaci's needs. Thank you Northwest Animal Hospital!!

This is a great clinic, my dogs are always so happy to go! They are happy and healthy thanks to Dr Kocher's wonderful care. One of my rescues had serious health issues when I got him: while this place is certainly not cheap, after one year of care and frequent visits, he is now a very happy pal. I only wish they had discounts for people who bring in more than one dog...

Lauren Ross

I brought my kitty here for a severe uti. I was able to get an appointment the day I called, didn't wait longer than 5 minutes, all the staff was wonderful, and Dr. Kocher was so thorough and sweet . We went home with medicine that day and after the meds were done we had a follow up that was just as easy and pleasant. My Cleo was comfortable and so was I. A lot of times going the vet you feel like you're waiting around for a doctor that rushes through things but not here. I also didn't feel robbed or too pressured into spending more money. I will continue to take my babies here for sure!

Bill Becker

I have an 11 year old Shih Tzu mix named Romeo which I adopted 3 years ago. Since then he has been under the care of Dr. Amber Addison and the great staff at NW Animal Hospital. He's all I have and I'm all he has, but he also has a terminal heart condition, so it is crucial that he be well cared for. Dr. Addison is not only a very skilled veterinarian, but she is also one of the most empathetic people I've ever met. My dog is in the right hands.

It is a great comfort to me to trust NW Animal Hospital with my dog Lucky's veterinary, boarding and grooming needs. It's been about 2 and half years so far and they have demonstrated high standards of care and compassion over and over. Their professional and friendly staff have convinced me that they love my dog Lucky almost as much as I do! =)

I had a big kitty with lots of issues I didn't want to see. Dr. Williams was there for me when a difficult decision had to be made and I'm eternally grateful to her for being Pookie's last veterinarian. I couldn't have asked for more! Kudos goes out to the amazing, caring kennel staff for always being good to my cats, and past dog that had been in daycare. To Dr. Sudduth, thank you for your brilliant idea of an all-in-one place for our pets!

Atrocious. My dog was bit by a rattlesnake and this was the closest place so I brought him here without knowing what I was getting into. I told Dr. Sudduth that he was bit by a rattler, but he showed no sense of urgency. My dog's throat was puffing up and he was clearly having trouble breathing and the Dr. calmly talked as if it was not an emergency. I was forced to mildly raise my voice at him and tell him to get started, so then he went back and started typing up a comprehensive invoice before he even got started on my dog. He initially quoted me between $1500-$1800 to be paid in full up front, so I did. Then after I got home, he called and told me that he was indeed bitten by a rattler (no kidding!), and now the price has gone up to ~$2400. It turns out they didn't use anti-venom, instead they stuck a tube into his throat and let him "drain" for 5 days in a tiny cage while he laid there in a pool of his own blood. In the following months, I had asked several local veterinarians what they would have charged me for a similar injury and was quoted anywhere from $700-$1500. Hopefully Dr. Sudduth doesn't treat everyone as poorly as he treated my dog and myself.

Great staff and so sweet to our dogs! Will continue going here as long as we live in the area. Our dogs actually get excited when we pull up to the vet and I have no hesitation leaving them in their care. We have had four different dogs go here over the past 6 years and have never had one complaint. Any extra cost is worth knowing my dogs are getting the proper care. We had to put a dog down a few years back and the vet came in on a Sunday for it so my husband and I could be together. They sent a super sweet card from the whole staff afterward with a memorial gift for our dog. They were so caring and helped us through the whole process with complete transparency. We trust them wholly and look forward to going here for years to come!

Bill Hanes

Ever since we PCS-ed here approximately three years ago we have taken our first dog to this Veterinarian Hospital. We have total confidence in Dr. Kocher and Dr. Sudduth. When we adopted our second dog from the National Mill Dog Rescue in Peyton, there was no doubt that both dogs would go to Northwest Animal Hospital. We have boarded both dogs multiple times for several days and they were always well taken care of. We drive from one end of town to the other, bypassing countless Veterinarian Clinics which would be closer, to stay with Northwest Animal Hospital. Additionally, I would like to extend a warm thank you to Jessica for being so wonderful with both dogs. A few weeks ago one of our dogs was attacked by a larger dog and the level of care and concern by Dr. Kocher was top notch. Dr. Kocher and her team exceeded our every expectation. JOB WELL DONE!! Thank you for being so professional and a master of your craft.

Liz Staten

Northwest is a great facility. They take care of my pets health and my piece of mind with my four legged family. They make me and my dogs and cats feel welcome and cared for every time we visit. The boarding staff remembers our dogs names and are so excited to see them. Over the holiday season, I didn't realize the vet was closing early. They called to make sure we were still coming for boarding and the staff stayed late on a holiday weekend to make sure I had time to get them boarded.

Rose Anne Ost

I love Northwest Animal Hospital! The staff is absolutely top-notch, from the receptionists, to the groomers, to the boarding staff, to the nurses and of course, the doctors. All are very friendly and knowledgeable. While it's important how the staff treats me, it's more important how they treat my pets. The receptionists greet my pets by name and come out from behind the counter to say hello. Very nice! They call weekly to check on my sick dog. The entire staff clearly cares about the animals that come in. I'm especially impressed by how gentle and thoughtful they were when I had to put one of my cats to sleep a few months ago (hugs included). I want to give special praise to Dr. Kocher. She is a very gifted veterinarian. She is not only compassionate, she is also skilled doctor. If not for her, I would have had to euthanize my diabetic kitty 18 months ago. If not for her, my beloved dog (who has cancer) would have died two months ago. I consider Dr. Kocher a miracle worker, and I know she (and the staff) will be there to support me and will take great care of my dog when I have to make the tough decision to say goodbye (which is imminent). I would not consider taking my sweet pets anyplace else. Northwest Animal Hospital does it all and they do it very well. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

Northwest did a great job. I took my dog there and he felt like he new them for years. That staff was great to work with and explained the entire process of what they where going to do and future recommendations.

No more. Had taken my dog in for shots early 2016 at another vet so that he could be boarded. Ended up moving and being close to Northwest Animal Hospital, so I decided to board him there. I had the old vet fax his records to Northwest. When I called they said he needed additional shots and a fecal exam. I verified with my old vet that the flu shot and fecal exam had been done and it had. I've always suspected in my past dealings with Northwest that Northwest was good at finding new things to do to my pets in the interest of more money. And now it's been confirmed. No more.

Had an emergency with our school rabbit today and after calling 10 vets, Northwest said they could see us right away. Dr. Kocher was compassionate, thorough, informative and understanding. Despite the sadness of the situation, we left feeling that we all had made the right choice to put our bunbun down. It was a peaceful passing and I am so grateful that Northwest was able to take us immediately given the gravity of the situation.

One the best Veterinary clinics I have been too! My daughter and I were very pleased. They took excellent care of our guniea pigs and provided 3 follow-up calls I was very impressed. Would defintely recommend this hospital.

Just the best place. They really care about our pets. My dogs were very old and rather than suggest aggressive treatments that wouldn't buy them all that much more time, Dr. Whitworth worked with us on comfort care techniques and developing a quality of life checklist. When the time came, that checklist helped us make the right decision with confidence that we were doing the right thing for our beloveds. Thank you Northwest, and thank you Dr. Whitworth.

They lied to us. Twice. In one day. First they told me that I was being charged for the Dr to look at a surgical site because he was not the Dr who did the surgery. The receipt from the previous week proved they lied. When my wife called to ask them about it, the manager lied about what the staff said. She told us "[That staff member] would never say something like that." They will take you for all the money they think they can make off of you. In the mid-1980s when I moved here, our neighbors told us not to go to Northwest Animal Hospital because of their terrible experiences there. My parents didn't listen to that advice, and after a number of terrible experiences of their own, they are still willing to drive downtown for a much better vet. Then about a decade ago, my fiance had been using them them for her dog, and after her experience this past couple of years, she has realized how terrible of a vet this place is. So for almost 40 years, everyone I know that has gone there for long enough has realized that the staff there will lie to you and will charge your exorbitant amounts for marginally decent medicine. The story doesn't quite end there, though. We did some legwork and found a new vet. We've been been to a dozen or so visits with this new vet and it is the difference of night and day. Prices are more reasonable and the staff actually suggest ways to save costs (such as using a store for a pharmacy rather than themselves). We called Northwest Animal Hospital in order to get the script for her dog transferred. They were rude AGAIN and also refused while telling us some half truths. So if you don't mind being lied to and are willing to pay top dollar for bottom of the barrel customer service and mediocre medicine, then perhaps Northwest Animal Hospital is for you. Otherwise, I'd avoid this place like the plague that they are.

I have taken all 3 of my animals here for a few years. I absolutely love this animal hospital and would recommend it to everyone. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgable. We never have any problems making appointments for any of our animals. Love this place!
