Dr. G and her staff are always professional. We consider them a trusted member of the family when it comes to our pets.

Great service! Vets are great with the animals. Mom had to have her cat put down. They were wonderful and caring! Three more visits and I can tell you there is no other vet for us. These people are wonderful. Tricky to find but WELL WORTH IT!!

I just wish I knew about this place before. The staff and Doctor Germeroth connected well with my dog, and with me. I don’t think he even realized he got any of the three vaccines. The prices were better than any Vet that I have been to. We were the last visit of the day and the doctor was still on time. So happy to have found this place (and it is not in a visible location - I thought I was lost going there, but it really was where my GPS took me).

Justin Gibson

This place is tucked away under a bridge occupying an old mini golf course and you would never know how good they are by the location. Hands down one of the best places in town. Much love.

Thank you Dr. G for taking the time to give us a 2nd opinion on our dog's injury. Got us right in and gave us very good useful info. So thankful that you are in the neighborhood!

This doctor restored my faith in veterinarians again. My furbaby hadn't been feeling too good for a couple of weeks and the doctor tested her to find out that her kidneys are not working too well. She's in the hospital & they are trying to flush her system out. The vet techs are so loving towards her. I'm very happy with this doctor, I would definitely recommend her.

sara jo

Excellent clinic :-) They obviously love animals! Kept tests & meds to a minimum, treated my guy with the same concern I would. Our new vet :-)

Although I'm never one to give a low/bad review and had been going to this Vet for many many years, the last experience I had really turned me off. My Dog passed away on my Birthday last year of a large ruptured Cyst on her spleen. We didn't know what was going on with her, we figured she was passing as her eyes glazed over and she lost all her urine. As she died, we took her to the Vet to figure out what was happening, what to do etc. I was in Hysterics and no one in the Vet office tried to comfort, there was no urgency and after 15 mins they let us place Susie on the table in one of the rooms. The Dr. came in and told us that we should have come in sooner and that we should have known the signs. She didn't touch the dog to examine her until we asked her to. Her tone of voice was very cold and condescending. I hate that I am reviewing this Vet so badly, because we had been customers for many years and felt confident in the Dr.'s work, but all respect towards her and the vet office left with me out the door that day. I felt very attacked and helpless.

My chihuahua had dental work done here and I was given a tour and a very thorough explanation of safety monitoring that would be done during the procedure. I was very impressed and Cecelia came through it just fine. My only issue is the doctor's criticism of the raw diet I put my dog on after months of failing health and blood work showing kidney failure. My dog is thriving on raw and shows no clinical signs of kidney failure yet the doctor is not open to discussion on dietary issues.

Our dog went to high country since he was a puppy. The vet knew him very well. Unfortunately he contracted cancer. They were extremely kind and caring when it came to telling us. When he went faster then expected they stayed open later then noon on Saturday so he would not suffer any longer. After they gave hugs and exspessed sorrow for our lose. The entire time they were nothing but professional and caring. Thet have a costumer for life as long as i have animals.

denise kuremsky

I have no idea what these negative reviews are about but I love Dr. Highfield and all the staff. First they were very understanding of my dog being anxious, they all were patient with him. The vet was amazing, she was just great. She took her time with him, made him feel very comfortable. At one point during the visit he even snapped at her(due to the amount of pain he was in and her touching the area, however she never missed a beat, she just reassured him that she was no threat and then he was fine. He left the vets off the same way he went in, happy(that's because she was nice and gave him tons of cookies). And I left has well happy. Our bill was less then anywhere we have ever taken them. We will be returning *update* he had to go in for a checkup on the infection he had, and I was charged NOTHING! They really care about their customers!

I highly recommend this vet! We brought our dog in for what we thought was acne, which turned out to be foxtail. They got him in immediately and took care of him. They treated him like family! Also, Their prices were reasonable and not to expensive.

Dr.G and her staff are the GREATES EVER!!! They started taking care of my Magnolia almost 12 years ago, for me my calling about almost every sneeze to her current bout with a nasal tumor and coordinating her care with C S.U. The consideration and kindness and true concern about my baby make this the BEST place for care of my Magnolia.

Patricia Smith

They are absolutely amazing. The staff is very knowledgeable and prices are reasonable.

Angelique Lawhenore

I called needing a follow up visit to a visit to the animal ER over the weekend. I was not a previous customer. I was told that they were booked solid for the day, but they made room in the schedule to see my cat. I was very pleased with the service and the fees charged seemed very reasonable. I also appreciate the no-nonsense but sensitive demeanor of the veterinarian. I will definitely recommend to anyone.

Lynne Bear

Great Vet clinic. Great, friendly staff.

This is not a veterinarian. Our dog winston is a very well behaved dog, which they admitted, but they seemed to be very upset that their aggression towards our pet was met with fear from him. It began when he was trying to get on the scale, which he was problem on, but there were a lot of sights and sounds to take in so he was very distracted. As he was wandering onto the scale, a hyperactive dog came through the door and Winston stepped off the scale to greet it. The woman weighing the dog straddled him, wrapped the leash around his nose, and violently pulled him onto the scale, then chastised us for "reassuring" him. I don't know what these people's problem is with making sure that my dog, who is a rescue, was feeling at least a little bit comfortable with a pretty scary experience. The ASPCA recommends reassuring your animal during a scary vet visit, and I will reassure any creature that is being violently abused. Then they took our dog off to some kind of torture chamber in the back for a heartworm test. Our dog was abandoned, and has some problems with new people, but he always warms up to them. If the new person is beating him and trying to stick him with a sharp object, the natural response in almost any living thing is going to be fear. Winston is in no way aggressive (he has never growled, snapped, bit, and I have heard him bark maybe twice), but the vet tried to go on about his "temperament" problem. Being frightened by a violent veterinarian is not a temperament problem. The staff here has a temperament problem.

Highly recommend! My first time here and I'm very impressed. They care and their prices are extremely reasonable. Very glad I chose them and will be a customer - hoping not too often :O) but this is where we will be going for our dogs and cats for now on!

Update: so much improvement since my last post. I had to go back because of an emergency and they got rid of the lady who was having problems with communication. Dr. Highland is great with my dog and she on several occasions had went above and beyond to take care of him though I never asked for it. The people at the front desk now do much better at communicating and are friendly and personable. Seriously, big improvement! As a military spouse, I try to get settled in quickly to all of our family's medical needs. Finding the the doctors for general wellness, dentist and optometrist; including a vet. We were recommended this place by a friend when we got to the Springs area. Over time, my experience deteriorated. There were several "miscommunications" with the front office staff, they'd forget important info and have to contact me later, and though the doctor was excellent at her job she lacked any kind of personal skills when dealing with us as patients. But I've dealt with animal people before and they typically lack in social skills with humans, so I ignored it. This last time was a bad experience that I won't return again. We had friends (also military) who moved to the Springs and we recommended this place. My friend and I had an appointment on the same day, however, I had to bring my dog in early for a teeth cleaning and removal. I discussed with the doctor to please update him on all of his shots. She said okay (by the way this was a different doctor from the owner). So, I left and scheduled a time to return and when I did return there was a line and my friend was there for her initial visit. We spoke in line until our turn. The young lady who waited on me that morning looked at me and said, "Are you two together?" I said, "Oh, no. I'm by myself." Then in an aggravated tone the young woman responded, "Then why are you here?" "I'm here to pick up my dog from his cleaning. " The young woman continued to be flustered through the payment process and getting me situated in a exam room. After another nurse came in and went through the post surgery care, she said she would meet me outside with my dog so that I can put my 1 year old in the car first. When the nurse met me outside, she's like, "Did you make an appointment for your follow up?" "I didn't think I need a follow up." "Well, you got to come back in 7-10 days to have the stitches removed from the cyst we took out." (The cyst was something we had discussed in the initial appointment.) I thought that was odd that they didn't mention anything about that before and now we're having a discussion about it in the parking lot. The next day, I had planned to ask my friend how her experience went because I was seriously considering not going back after the follow up appointment. She said she had the worst experience after her dog's initial appointment with the front desk. She was checking out and was charged a high price for the appointment than she was quoted over the phone. Not only did we recommend that place but the only other reason she went to High Country was because of its lower prices. When she mentioned to the older lady of the quote, the younger and older lady had a heated discussion in front of the entire waiting room about the miscommunication. The older lady then turned to my friend and said, "Well, this was a miscommunication on your part, but next time you come in you'll have to pay full price." Needless to say, I'll be going in to have my dog's stitches removed, all of his shots updated because they never did do that and a copy of his records so I can go somewhere else.

Great staff. Thank you for taking care of my cat for all these years. Unfortunately, also thank you for your assistance in putting him to rest today. The staff, especially Dr. G. Was most helpful to me during this sad time today.

Dr. G is friendly and knowledgeable. She explains diagnoses and treatment options and explains the nest option. I would highly recommend them. I've had one experience with Dr. Rose and she was great to work with too. All of our fur babies (cats and dog) see them. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. They take exotic animals too (parrots, iguanas, hamsters, etc).

Got tired of the front desk treating me badly for the 10 years I went there and I'm finally going to another vet. So this is not a one experience review. I have gone here since the day I moved to Colorado and have probably been here a good 30-50 times. The one woman is terrible with costumers and on some days can be incredibly rude, talking down to me in a shaming and argumentative way if I walk in late or for any reason. If she wasn't in, it was a better experience unless the doc was "having a bad day". I was always too busy to change places but I am upset with myself for not doing it earlier. Everyone here seems a lot more stressed than other places I go to as well. Had the best experiences since changing to the new vet on 85. This place needs costumer service training...and the vet not making people cry would be a plus too. Glad to be gone!

Taking our one year old baby here we had him checked out for a normal routine check. During that check we had asked about a bump on his back. They said it was a lypoma no need to worry. Months have gone by no need to worry. Here we are now months after the telling of being a lypoma. And we end up taking our pup to the dog er turns out it’s cancer and all this time we could’ve been trying to fight the cancer. We found out Sunday and by Tuesday our dog was gone. After talking to the front desk about what had happened she had the doctor call back and argue with me and tell me my dog didn’t have cancer and the er misdiagnosed after me having multiple opinions. This vet is a terrible place to take your animals if you care about their well being. Now I’m grieving over my 1 year old put that lost his battle to cancer because we didn’t find it in time due to this vet

Diane Brooks

Theres a rude young lady and they messed up on xrays . other service and staff ok

Chalice LaRae

They are so helpful and they remember my pets faces better than mine. They don't push unnecessary care, and they don't nickle and dime you to death!

Samantha Brister

One of the worst that experiences I've ever had. There was hardly any markings as to where the entrance to the parking lot was and I called three times to get directions with no answer. I finally followed another car in, if it wasn't for that car I would have never found the place. The front desk staff was excellent other than not answering the phone. When waiting in the exam room for the vet to show up you can easily hear a discussion going on in the back office. The vet was extremely upset about her schedule being overbooked. When she opened up the exam room door the first word she said were "I understand why they dumped him". To explain this statement... my chihuahua was previously taken into the back to have his nails clipped. They were unable to do so because he was so terrified and started screaming and had an accident on thr exam table. I was told he needed to be sedated to have his nails clipped. Back to when the vet came in the room, I thought it was extremely rude that she assumed he was dumped at the pound because of how he acted. He was a stray and he was brought in to the Humane Society. Nobody knows what his past is like but what is clear is that he is scarred somehow by someone and has extreme anxiety and fear. He should have gotten extra love to calm him and assure him everything is ok. The vet then walked out of the room within seconds of coming in the room to talk to the girls in the back office, clearly discussing how upset she was about her schedule, loud enough for me to hear in the other room. She then came back into the room to tell me why she was having a bad day, because her schedule is overbooked, still with an attitude in her voice. The exam lasted less than 5 minutes and she was done and out of the room again. Like I said in the beginning, one of the worst experiences I've ever encountered at a vet's office. Extremely unprofessional. If there is conflict in the workplace it should be dealt with and not in front of the patients. If you are a professional you should have a kind demeanor and to assure me that my animal is okay. Never setting foot in this establishment again.

Victoria Chamberlain

Staff is always friendly and the prices are great. I can't recommend this place enough. I take my dogs and cats here and have always felt well cared for.

Daisha Lanier

My 5 year old yorkipoo had blood in his urine called dr Moses and she got him in quick and discovered 3 large stones in his bladder and scheduled his surgery, had the surgery and I’m glad to say no complications and he has healed up nicely! Prices are more than fair and the staff is a delight!

Theresa Diaz

Unfortunately, after an initial pleasant visit with my hen, Bella, I now report being a dissatisfied customer. The antibiotic given last week, may be upsetting her stomach, with pain being the main concern for her lack of eating/drinking, yet the pain medication discussed and confirmed with the vet was not available upon driving across town to the office. I even called the office to make sure that they were open during lunch hour and they said staff is available. I wish they would have told me specifically that a doctor would not be available during that time. I would have waited a short while before driving across town. I was asked to come back despite the issue being their mistake. If it were my office and my mistake, I would have offered to overnight the pain medication to my customer.

Lynne Carlton

Caring, professional staff. Excellent prices. Recommend asking for routine stuff like nails, anal gland expressions for dogs if you think it's necessary.

Heather Musick

I will never use another vet office. Dr. G is so awesome her staff is great. She has taken such awesome care of our dogs for about 20 years. She's really one of the best of the best. Prices are very reasonable to.

Very nice little place with knowledgable and kind people. It's kinda hidden, but quaint. I brought my guinea pig here for a follow up check and they were quick to reassure me that she's fine and didn't even charge for the 5min appointment. I will be coming back for another appointment with a second guinea pig.

It breaks my heart to write this review, we have been taking our babies here for 13 years. Dr G and her staff were always amazing, always went above and beyond and always made me feel like family. If all I needed was well checks or easy fixes, I agree this place would be great. However, one if my pups is dealing with issues that need some extra attention. The dr now has been unwilling to work through any med changes over the phone, if I want to talk to her i have to make another vet appt. A dog with high anxiety does not need to head to the very every 2 weeks. My last encounter had the vet not have time to refill a scrip prior to taking off the next two working days. The other vet working would not do anything as my pup was not their patient. This led me to having to wean my pup quickly off his anxiety meds. We were doing a couple two week trials, hence the short notice on refilling the meds on my part. I have to decided to take all my animals elsewhere for everyone involved. I am too used to the way Dr G handled the care of my pets during and after office visits, getting used to something new may just be better at a new office.

Jesse Youngwerth

Kelsey is amazing! Always caring deeply for every pet we bring in. We trust her with all of our little babies. Thank you high country vet, you are the best.

I have a high energy dog, and the staff is always friendly & loving towards her. I feel that Dr Highfield gives my dog great care and spends as much time with us as we need. Their prices are also the lowest I've found in town. Even though we've moved further north and it's now a longer commute to this vet office, we still come here and will continue to do so.

I took my blind diabetic dog into High Country Veterinary during May 2017. Dr. Debrah Germeroth performed tumor removal surgery and during a follow up appt Dr. Germeroth pulled dirty scissors out of her pocket and stuck it into the wound to spread it apart. I seen red flags and should have paid attention to them such as office is located in a very dirty pit area and they keep their windows open to allow the dirt to come into office. My dog had an infection that started the day after surgery. No antibiotics were given on day of surgery and her insulin level was too low for proper healing. The lymph node was also swollen and not removed by Dr. Germeroth because she said it was fat. My dog had a continuous bad infections with almost daily trips to the vet for dead tissue removed for almost a month until I took my dog to a different vet. The last was straw was when Dr Germeroth didn't care about the staples not holding the tissue together so dirt and hair would get into wound. The new vet adjusted the insulin level and fixed Dr Germeroths open mess that she made and my dog healed perfectly. The surgery end up costing double the price because of the infections and seeing a different vet. My dog still had a lump in the same area after the surgery and Dr. Germeroth said it would go away. Well the lump turn into another large cancer tumor and lymph node was still swollen with cancer. I had the tumors removed in Oct 2017 and my dog healed perfectly with zero problems. It's clear that Dr Germeroth might save you money in the short run but in the long run I paid a total 2,400. Dollars for 800 dollars surgery. My dog is very tough and survived Dr. Germeroth dirty work. We all suffered greatly and I have written evidence from new vet to defend us.

This is my favorite veterinary clinic in the area! Good with and for the animals, very compassionate, reasonable prices.

Great place. Took my Doberman there for his shots. My dog won't take dog treats when he's in unfamiliar territory. The vet had some baby food and my dog ate it, didn't even know he got a shot. Would highly recommend this place.

I have been taking my cat to High Country for 4 years. I appreciate the fact that Dr. G doesn't try to sell me on things I don't need. My cat got ill once, and a couple of days after I took her in to see the doctor, I received a follow up call from the hospital staff, checking in to see how she was doing. After getting my cat spayed, I wasn't able to pick her up the next day because I had to unexpectedly work late. They gladly kept her an extra day, at no additional cost. They are also very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this hospital to any pet owner.

Daniel N. Hewitt

While they were super helpful in seeing my dog with zero notice, I was still charged an office visit, but I never saw the vet. They took my dog to the back (not even a room) and gave me a $101 bill. To the owner who responded to my review: Yes it was your facility. Our dog is listed under my fiance's account. I tried to call the location, but no one answered. I will try again later today. Thanks for the quick response!

Joe Latka

Best vet stop in C.S. Dr G is as awesome as them come. She is more concerned about your pet than you though. Really, she is straight to the point and thorough, your pets health is her main concern and that's why I go there, have been for 20 years now. The staff is wonderful. If your looking for a coffee and donut place, look elsewhere, this place is about your pet, I love it! And if Dr G gives you advice on how better to train and treat your dog it's because she want to see you and your pet thrive and really isn't that what you want as well? Thanks High Country, you guys are doing a great job!

We moved to southern CO Springs and were recommended to High Country. So far, we've liked our time there with our two dogs.

I have alot of respect for High Country. Most of the vets that i have been to in the past are not very caring and just in it for the money, Deborah actually cares about your animals. She is very honest and im glad that my animals have a caring vet.

These people really care

Our dog was sick and we needed an emergency checkup. She's fine now. If you are in the area abd have an emergency for your pet. I reccomend this place. The vet and all her staff are great.

This place is absolutely trashy and I will never take my dog back again. I regret ever coming here in the first place. I took my dog last month for the last of her vaccines and when I got there, I had to wait over an hour later than my appointment time to finally be seen by the vet. After my appointment she has a HUGE lump from her vaccines that lasted over a week after and then it turned into an abscess under her skin and when I call about it they wanna charge me 30 dollars alone just to look at it, nothing else. And another 30 on top of that for the antibiotics. I discuss my concerns regarding it to them how they caused it and they should cover the cost and they do not care. Point blank she should've never gotten the abscess in the first place and it's their fault this happened... they need to learn how to give shots properly so unless you want your dog to get a abscess in their back from getting shots cause the place is so dirty and they don't know what they're doing do not take your dog here. Stuff like this doesn't just normally happen ever or at all. I should've went some where else and this problem would've never happened. This vet is so horrible, worst vets I've ever been to... they are rude, very unprofessional and the place is so dirty. Trust me, don't even risk it and take your dog to a different vet office. There's plenty of other options. BETTER options.

Matt Glandorf

Was a great experience. My dog cut his pad really bad half dozen staples later and we were done. All the staff were all great!!!! If I lived here longer I would send more people to them.

Gerald Stamm

The Vets are the best and the staff knows their stuff. The prices are great, compared to other Pet Veterinary places in the past.

JC Hansen

i had been coming to this vet for 15 yrs. then what happened is grounds to sue every single person that works in that building. id post pics if i could. i will say this... 15 yrs of loyalty n never ever in my whole 40 yrs on this earth have i ever been more disgusted with a whole crew of people. short, judgemental, unqualified, uncaring, unwilling to take their responsibility in making a bad situation worse, despite it being their fault. Their inability ultimately ended with them stealing money from my friends acct to pay off my balance of a totally different account and pet.

Natasha Gill

Fairly priced. Won't be bringing my dog back here. Doc seemed like she was having a bad day. Was pretty short with me, interrupted me a couple times when she was asking me questions. My dog is 5 months old, starts training in a couple weeks (after she recovers from her upcoming spay). She has been minimally socialised as she was receiving vaccines and hasn't been microchiped yet. The doc didn't take any time really to let my dog warm up to her, maybe two to three seconds before she tried to listen to my dogs heart. My dog growled for a second. And we both told her no. This is the first time she's growled at anyone. The vet got up to get a treat and told me I was speaking too softly to my dog, it wasn't intentional. This was the first time she's growled at anyone. When she approached my dog again she started to growl again, was told No and shown the treat and she stopped. The doc asked me to get her off the chair she was sitting in. I tugged on the leash a couple times, didn't work, so I went to go pick her up. The doc asked for the leash instead, so I gave it to her. She pulled my dog out of the chair then continued yanking on her leash, pulling my dog to her, she pulled hard enough that the collar popped off my dog who went and hid under the chair. The doc was visibly upset by that. If you know a dog is already scared, why would you pull her across the floor by her leash? And to the point that her collar popped off. All we had to do was turn my dog towards me and she was fine. She was still tense but she didn't react when the doc checked her temp. It seemed excessive. I've never seen a vet drag a dog to them by its leash. My dog definitely needs more socialization, but I really don't see how doing that will help her associate anything positive with the vet. But we won't be returning here!

I had the most amazing experience at this vet. The staff was very friendly and incredibly understanding of my dogs fear aggression. Dr. Deborah Germeroth provided not only a great environment for my dog by making him feel safe, but she gave me a lot of information about training him, what to feed him, and much more. I will recommend this place to all of my friends and family and they will be my go to vet for all my dog's needs!!!

Tyler Kelley

I had my dog sitter take one of my dogs in when I was away. The problem wasn't solved so I went back in the next day and they held my dog for 24 hours. They took great care of him, were always extremely caring and extremely personable and weren't bothered when I called multiple times to check up on him. I couldn't be happier with the way my dog was treated there and the prices are extremely reasonable.

This place is an absolute life saver!! My puppy was bitten by another dog and we were really worried about an infection. I called and asked if there was an opening and they said not until Tuesday (today is Friday). I explained what had happened and they squeezed my baby right in. She needed drainage tubes put in to drain her infection...we were expecting to wait until Monday for that to happen, but they immediately took her back!! After today’s visit and with how wonderful the staff is, we’ll definitely be transferring the care of our other dogs to Dr. G! I highly recommend them!!

Owner is accusing people of false reviews, then proceeding to look up information in there system. Which I believe should be private, as this could contain sensitive information. The owners also believes that I am wrong but I sure. I have the letter they sent apologizing about my dogs death. If I remember correctly they just said sorry and offered nothing to fix it. Overall the owner is wrong, they know it and it's sad. I would to think they will learn from there mistake and try to do better and I truly hope they do. I don't want to see anyone go through what I saw. Beware if you are unsure about the medication they prescribed, maybe ask for a second opinion, it never hurts to do.

I want to like this vet but they keep giving me reasons not to. My parents dogs have been coming here for years for all their needs, I had a problem maybe 4 years ago when I was belittled over the phone about the 3 dogs having kennel cough- the vet on the phone kept telling me it was probably a reverse sneeze. I kept saying NO, all 3 dogs are not reverse sneezing at the same time. They originally wanted me to bring ALL 3 SICK dogs in, we brought 1 in and I was correct- kennel cough. I just rescued a kitten off the streets & my parents had me take him to them to get shots & neutered. When I made the appointment NO ONE told me not to feed the kitten before. When my boyfriend went to drop the kitten off he got a ton of attitude about it because they had to push the appointment back. Maybe if the desk lady did her job correctly we wouldn’t have had this problem. I’m just sick of the shortness over the phone & attitude I get whenever I personally deal with them. I honestly don’t know why my mother keeps going here because I’m done with this place. They may do a really good job but the customer service really sucks.

Absolutely love this place! They are so caring and gentle with your animal. They save my blue nose pitbull from passing away do to a bad dog fight. She is alive and rocking now! I give HCV a 5 star & I highly recommend them to anyone in Colorado springs, especially in the security-widefield area! Thank you HCV for all you do!!!

We used to love the dr that would see our animals until she left. The prices are great. The service not so much we called to put our dying dog that hadent eaten in 3 days to rest. I got told that I would have to wait until the following week 4 total days. Like it was no big deal! Not happy!! Trying to find a new vet that will be able to handle a serious situation like this in a timely manner.

Great people just hard to find.

I have been taking my pets here for over 20 years. I love the vets and assistants. They help your pets get better and are there for when you have to let your pets go.

We LOVE Dr. Germeroth. I will say that her staff is not overly friendly, but they get the job done. Dr. Germeroth reminds me of the country vet. She doesn't do anything that doesn't need to be done and doesn't try to scam you with unnecessary shots and tests etc. Recently, my male cat freaked out when we took him (and my other 2 cats) in for their annual and shots. My male cat had a melt down right there. He was sissing and trying to bite my husband and me. He has NEVER done that at home or at the vet office. It was a surprise. Dr. Germeroth didn't flinch. She simply went to get this little humane clam thingy. It is like netting that allows you to hold your pet without touching it. She had him in the netting-he was completely safe and there was no pain or anything. In fact, it was more comfortable for him than us having to try and hold him down. She gave him his shot and that was it. We were even able to put him back into his carrier without touching him. We got him home and he was fine but it took him a couple of days to get back to normal. In any event, Dr. Germeroth obviously knows animals and I have trusted her with all of my animals for many years now. I feel very sorry for the person who posted the story of when she lost her pet. I can only imagine that was horrible but I believe her experience was out of the ordinary, based on my own experiences. If you are considering this vet, give them a chance.

We have been taking our pets here for years and the staff is friendly, services are not outlandishly priced either. We recently had a pet pass away and brought her here to be cremated. I was extremely touched to get a card in the mail only a few days after from all the staff sending their condolence for our loss.

These people are amazing! Helped me out in a emergency. Seriously they saved my boy bunny. My girl bunny was pregnant and i didn't know. We found these bunnies and took them in. Long story short.i needed my boy fixed ASAP! They had 8 beautiful babies. 3 are now gone. And they got me in to have the first 2 of them cremated. No waiting a long time. My 2 died yesterday. And the male was due to be fixed today. They took all of them. The 3rd one died today, I tried to rub the 3rd baby back to life but it didnt work. So im sure they'll get the baby in as soon as they can. I Highly Recommend this place! They truly care!

Dorene Neumann

They got me in the same day when my cat was sick. She's now home and healthy again.

The vets are outstanding and the staff is wonderful!

Dr Deborah is super friendly and she knew how to handle our pup so much that he ended up giving her plenty of kisses by the end of the appointment. She is very knowledgeable and so kind. We're so glad we found this place.

Matthew McCain

Treated my dog and I great! Was less expensive than I assumed it would be. Will be continuing with them for both my dogs' veterinary care.

Mark Pedersen

These people are top notch.. Really care

Kaitlin Thompson

Amazing office. I had a bad pet emergency and they took my dog right back and cleaned her up, no appointment and minimal notice. Their prices were amazing. I drive 35 miles because they have exceeded all of my expectations.

I just want to say a HUGE Thank you to Dr. G and the staff at High Country. My daughter and I took her Chinchilla Rabbit (Bugz) in for an abcess on his cheek. Our appointment was at 9:45 we arrived about 15 mininutes early to fill out the new patient paperwork. Dr. G greeted us and took our little guy to remove what was left of the abcess. When she brought our lil guy back she educated us on raising a healthy rabbit, since this was our first, she sent us home with pamplets of information as well. My daughter and I were both very satisfied with our service, the cleanliness of the building, and professional friendliness of the the entire staff. So thank you again for making us feel comfortable. We look forward to our checkup and any further servics in the future!!! Appointment: 9:45-10:18 would have been shorter, but we were talking and laughing!

Stacey Nesmith

Staff is amazing and very helpful and understanding. They love what they do and love our fur babies to the utmost importance. Thank you High Country and Ruby Jean will be back to say hi again soon!!

Adopted our sweet terrier mix from the Human Society about two weeks ago and had an appointment less than five days later - the Doc was wonderful to our sweet Kate and had us in and out in no time. We were already almost out of dog food and when we inquired about the bags in the front, she was kind enough to let us know that though she'd sell them to us if we wanted them, we'd find the same stuff much cheaper elsewhere. I believe if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and she did exactly what we asked - checked out our furbaby, gave us the thumbs up, and said, "See you when she needs a check up or if she needs it sooner (hopefully not)!"

Only place I take my dog, best vet in town

Penny Cimino

I have been going to high Country vet for years when it was owned by Dr. Germeroth. She was a great vet that didn't believe in unnecessary procedures and tests. She had a common sense approach to caring for animals. Unfortunately, she sold the practice and the philosophy has changed. I took my older dog in for arthritis symptoms and the vet tech immediately came in and said she was taking him for x rays. The vet hadn't even examined him yet. I have never had x rays ordered before the vet had seen the patient. Next, I have a 20 year old cat on thyroid medicine. She ran out so I called for a refill. They left me a message saying she had to have blood work done before they would refill her prescription, blood work that was done 6 months ago and was normal. So now my cat is off her medicine because they don't care. I am sad to say that this office has changed from the common sense approach to pet care to being more concerned about getting more money. I have reluctantly changed vets.

Very kind dedicated professionals. Take your pet there!!

I had two pets attend this vet. We are a military family that wanted something close to post. The customer service was top notch. My oldest had a limp and was diagnosed there with a later confirmed dual CCL tear. The puppy had their neuter done at the facility. A great Vet that isn’t there to suck you dry of your money. The best part was we were always seen in a timely manner.

Cyndi Marsala

The only vet I trust to take care of my furbabies!

Great staff

Tammy Stone

Always helpful and honest. Very reasonable fees and no hidden charges. No services performed of they're not needed. If you're looking for someone to hug you and comfort you, it's not here. They are there for the comfort of the animal.

Dr. Moses was great, it is obvious she loves her job and knows what she is doing. Who else would you want to take your pets to.

I'm not a review writer but......I am MOST impressed with the two Doctors at this Vet Hospital. My cat had been very very ill for well over a year. My previous vet suggested a few forms of care - to no avail. In the end he said it was food allergies. I have about $500 worth of food that I tried - to no avail. I was referred to High Country Vet (HCV) by a co-worker. On my First Visit they summonsed all previous vet records and were quite surprised that blood work had never been done. It was the first thing they did. I watched them put the blood on a slide and under the microscope (NO lab-woohoo). After many "tests" that first day they gave me their diagnostic impression but wanted to order a kit to confirm one of three possibilities. The kit test was sent to an outside lab, which confirmed their original diagnosis. One visit - my first visit - I had a diagnosis and plan of action. And much to my surprise it was actually affordable. My cat is still very sick and will be for a while but he is responding and showing signs of mending. I donated the $500 worth of food my cat can't eat to HCV to help others in need: they were as appreciative of my gesture as I was about finding them. Thank you seems so inept in expressing how very very thankful I am to have found High County Vet and their doctors - that definitely care more about our pets than their profit and loss statement! -cp

These guys are amazing. The staff shows tons of courtisy when working with me or my dog Nemo. Dr G. Well she's just flat out amazing and very caring about her work. She loves every animal that comes into her office and so does the staff.. Along with all of this, my dog recently had an operation removing tumors. The technicians, especially Cheyenne are also equally awesome. They show tons of compassion!! I will continue to work with them and my favorite friend Nemo, an 11 year old American Fox Hound....

Before last week I'd never heard of High Country Veterinary Hospital but I believe Dr Highfield just saved our dog. I've used many vets over the years but as long as I live in Colorado I will only take my pets here. Thank you Dr Highfield

Jeff Lundholm

Clean, professional, prompt.

Great vet!

Lisa Miller

Vet loves animals!! Not people so much but that is just fine for my furbabies

Lydia Taylor

These vets are good. They are kind to animals. Very care is pricey everywhere. I took my cat in for a rabies vac. And it was 17.50 for the vaccine and 36.50 for the office visit. It's best Ft. Carson.
