I am constantly calling Dr. Buxton's office asking questions. They are always so pleasant and helpful! Just yesterday my dog ate some vitamins and I wasn't sure if it was going to be toxic for him. So I called and told the front desk about it and she said she would let the vet know about it and they would call me back. Naturally, due to my own experience with my doctor's office, I assumed they would never call back. About an hour later I get a phone call from Dr. Buxton's office and I couldn't answer so they left me a voicemail. The lady at the front desk left me a message telling me what the doctor had said about my dogs situation! I was so relieved to hear my dog would be fine! I was so grateful that they went out of their way to call me back even though everything was ok! Every time I call in about something that's going on with my dog they always follow up the next couple of days to see how my dog is doing! They are just awesome!! I love this vet!!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Buxton. He's incredibly talented, compassionate, and willing to go the extra mile without charging an arm and a leg. He recently saved our cat (who was attacked by a wild animal) and was gentle and caring while treating him. You won't find a fancy, ultra modern clinic when you walk through the doors of Buxton Veterinary Hospital. What you will find is a down to earth ambiance with incredibly talented veterinarians (Dr. Buxton and his wife) and caring staff who will make sure that your fuzzy friend gets the best care....all, without breaking the bank.

I have been going to Buxton for 15 years or more they've seen all of my animals but today I've had enough they refused to see my dog who is bleeding out of her bottom this is the second time I've had an emergency situation where they refused to see my animal there's nobody sitting in the office I even asked if I could wait they wouldn't help me out at all and I was just so disappointed. I will be moving to the vet that has always helped me in these situations when Buxton refused to High plains veterinary hospital I'm not sure why I didn't move to them already that was the last straw I'm not sure what happened to Buxton but I am done with them for good . How do you not see a dog who is bleeding

Brought my dog in because she had raspy breathing and kept coughing. They ran some tests and said she seemed to be fine and that nothing seemed to be wrong. I asked if they could please watch her to make sure she was ok, they said there was no need. Later that day she died. I have never been so heartbroken in my life. My dog was only 9 years old and in great shape. Her species can live to be 18. Would never take an animal here if you want them to live...

Super nice staff, GREAT pricing, got us in and out very quick and were so nice to my poor injured doggie. They do have cats that just hang out around and open doors in the exam rooms, so if your dog doesn't like cats I would let them know ahead of time so they can round them up. The cats were also very sweet to my dog and toddler.

If you need a great veterinarian Buxton Veterinary Clinic is the BEST in town. They saved my bloodhound's life twice when he was a puppy (he bloated when he ate wheat based kitty litter) and they surgically repaired my cat Murphy's leg when no one else knew what to do (you cant even tell he had surgery on a major joint.) Our beagle had a bad encounter and they were so concerned about her they took her home for the weekend to make sure she was going to be okay when they released her to us. Dr. Ron and Barb Buxton are the best. If you want to go to a vet where they genuinely care about your pet this is the place! Sad it's taken me this long to give them a shout out.

The Veterinarians and staff at Buxton are A-MAZE-ING!!! Our fur baby was mutilated while being kenneled at another facility and I reached out to Buxton for help. They got us in immediately and what could have been a disastrous outcome was handled with compassion, professionalism and with the best medical practice as was appropriate for our situation. Buxton is below average priced with exceptional veterinary care. Dr. Barb and Dr. Nancy are irreplaceable and will forever be in our hearts.

My husband's mom and grandma both bring their dogs here, of coarse we would bring our pups was well. Very helpful, very down to earth, you don't feel that sense of being hurried along, they will take the time to listen. Never had in issue with setting appointments and never had an argument with their pricing. There actually has been times I thought I should give them more because of the services they performed, I was just so thankful. Very good vet, very good staff, all in all, your babies are in good hands here!

Mrs. Dr. Buxton is awesome and extremely compassionate! She will never try to upsell for procedures, and works with kindness and integrity. Everyone of my critters has melted in her arms, and trusts her completely...over time, that is more than a several arm-fulls. Fantastic for anyone who wants awesome care for their "kids" , and won't give you a list of "you ought to do's" before you leave. They will make suggestions when concerned, but over all, they trust that you; the "mom", "dad", owner know what's best for your fuzzy! Their clinic is NOT dirty...they just don't spend your money on deco. They're there to care for animals - not aesthetics to keep up with the looks of the clinic down the block.

I've been bringing my dogs (who I love beyond measure) to the Buxtons since they started their practice. They have always treated me with kindness and understanding and provided the highest quality of care. They take the time to listen to me and really figure out what's needed. When my Daisy was diagnosed with Cushing's disease when she was 12, I didn't think I'd have her much longer, but they helped us have four more happy years together. The Buxtons have done countless wonderful things for me, including staying late for an emergency (my puppy Jackson fell off the couch), and even taking my dog Daisy home overnight to their personal residence to take care of her in her final days when she was too sick to be with me, but we weren't sure yet if it was time to let her go. They've sent me handwritten, personalized cards and taken as much time as I needed to explain things and offer options. They have been beyond fair and reasonable with their pricing and are reliable and trustworthy. I was just thinking the other day that if I had to move to Denver or Pueblo, I would still drive back to the Springs to take my dogs to the Buxtons. I noticed that some of the lesser reviews mentioned other staff. Since I've been a client of the Buxton's for so many years, I've seen exceptional staff (recognize me, remember my pet's name, have amazing phone skills, etc) and many of them were around for years. I've also seen average staff at the front desk. I imagine that as a small business, the Buxton's have to deal with the challenges of hiring and firing alongside what they truly are there to do - which is care for our pets. I've never had a single concern with anyone who treated my pet. To me, it's easy to overlook the sometimes average receptionist as a trade off for the very best in care for my precious pups. I would highly, highly recommend the Buxtons.

Great staff. They have helped us through an emergency, and wellness care for our little rescue pup, and I am so glad I picked them off the list. They are a busy practice, so sometimes hard getting an appointment, and wait times in the waiting room can get a little long. They do not overcharge or pressure for unnecessary treatments. Even my pet insurance company commented that their rates were very fair after paying for a surgery through their practice.

I am very pleased with the care that was given to my fur baby at Buxton. The staff was great, friendly and efficient. Dr. Barb Buxton is absolutely amazing. She is caring, knowledgeable and friendly. My 18 years old cat needed dental work and he was in the best of hands. Kim Spelts, a veterinary anesthesia specialist, was brought in to do his anesthesia. With this team, my baby was in great hands. He is now home, resting and healing up nicely. I can’t thank you enough for taking such excellent care of my cat. I would highly recommend this place to anyone is need of high quality veterinary care.

i am a long time customer at Buxton and while i was satisfied with the care for the first couple years things are quickly going downhill. the receptionists are so rude. i seriously cannot stress enough how important customer service is over the phone and they just dont have a clue how to be respectful or understanding at all! also, getting appointments takes forever, snd getting an appointment is worthless anyway since they dont acutally take the time to look at the animal...the last time i took my dog in, mrs buxton didnt even look at him and diagnosed him with mange and prescribed meds that made him extremely sick! i got a second opinion and it was just allergies, new allergy meds and hes better than ever! Im seriously disappointed and will never return. i have sent so many customers their way and will definitely be taking them with me now. it sure doesnt seem like they are real concerned with keeping customers and with so many other vets to choose from in the springs thats a huge mistake on their part.

Great staff and team. Called pretty panicked after finding my dog with a chewed up bottle of Aspirin outside, and was relieved to have someone walk me through checking her symptoms over the phone. I set an appointment for the next day, got blood work done, and a call back within an hour. Fast detailed service with a smile and genuine desire to help. Most importantly, and even after routine visits, my dog always leaves with a wagging tail and I'm confident she's been well taken care of. Couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
