Vets Who Really Care!!! Been taking my family's four legged members here for years. We recently had an issue with our cat and they showed amazing compassion for her and fairness to us. Absolute best place you can take your pet. EVERYONE who works there is so nice and truly cares. They understand how much love you have for your pet and will make sure no matter what that your pet is taken care of. I had my dog impounded and transferred from the pound to Browns while she was being kept and the vet tech who took care of my dog personally wrote a letter about how sweet and even tempered my dog was. Terry the office manager is so nice and will do anything she can to help you and your pet. Every surgery or procedure my dog has had, the vet (Dr Gross) personally calls me and let's me know how things went. Can't say enough good things about this place.

I have never been more happy with service I've received from a doctor before. My cat had another block and he couldn't pee. It was at this time that we were told he'd need surgery. I'm not the greatest when it comes to the health of my cat, I get really emotional. The staff is so thoughtful and caring about you and your pet. They are also amazing about working with you for payment. Unlike any other vet who would make you get a credit card or pay it all at one time, Brown Vet clinic set me up with options that worked for me. I will always use Brown for any time that I need my pet looked at. They are without any doubt in my mind the best in The Springs.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place, we switched to a cheaper vet last year and have regretted it since. Came back to Brown with our sick senior dog and had the pleasure of having Dr Jeffrey Gross for the visit. Hardest visit of my life but he very thoroughly and nicely explained everything in detail and treatment options and things. He was beyond amazing. The whole staff is amazing! They helped us come to the decision that it was ok to let go of our senior suffering dog and were there every step of the way. I am beyond thankful for the although hard experience it was a pleasant experience thanks to the whole staff. I can’t even begin to express my gratitude and will continue brining my other dog to this vet. Thank you so much Brown and the wonderful staff.

This vet hospital was absolutely amazing. From the first phone call I made , they were very helpful in answering all my questions with a professional, great attitude. They made myself and my little dog, who is very scared and skeptical of any stranger, very comfortable. They gave me a quote on the dental exam and I ended up paying $200 less because they didn’t complete any unnecessary tasks. They called me as soon as the procedure was done to keep me updated. We walked out of our last vet visit at a completely different office in tears and never looked back. This time walking out of Browns hospital, even after my dogs procedure under anesthesia, we were smiling, thankful, and assured we have found our new vet. We only went in for a dental cleaning and exam.

He took the best care of our baby, and scheduled the surgery quickly. We will be forever grateful for his professionalism, integrity for care and fantastic customer service. "Thanks" is just not a big enough word to explain how I feel. "GRATEFUL" The most amazing pet care we have ever received in Colorado Springs!

Ive had terrible experiences time and time again. While working at a dog day care we were worried a dog in our care had potential bloat, meaning their stomach flips and you typically have 15-30 min from when it happens to get them to a vet. They also have an emergency center and they are the closest. We took the 8 minutes getting the dog there to be refused care and turned away. They said theres nothing they can/will do(this was the dogs original vet too) and didnt even look at him. Knowing bloat is a very time sensitive issue. I take my own personal dog there the past year because its near my home. The first issue we had with her was demodex, they told me it was highly contagious and i can transfer it from myself to other dogs blah blah blah. Also told to go pick up the medication from PetSmart down the road and gave me a prescription. Petsmart was mad they did that because 1) they dont have the medication and 2) they wouldnt do that. I asked for a different doctor there and she printed out info on it and said how its not contagious at all and the other doctor was wrong completely. They tell me my dog is perfect weight and i just found out (started taking her to a better vet today) shes been over weight this whole time.. my dog had weird symptoms (non of giardia symptoms) 2 months ago and they said it was giardia, gave 5 different medications over the 2 month period and kept saying its still there lets keep trying different meds and just called saying she still has it and wants to try 2 more medications. Shes a small 12 lb dachshund 1.5 years old. She doesnt need medication after medication when clearly its not working after the first 2?? 3?? Times. Shes been normal since the first medication, and her stool has been normal since 2 weeks ago. I asked them to send it to a lab and they said itd be $70 or so. Each time they test her fecal its $30 even for a drop off. We took her to bear creek vet, they sent it to a lab specialist for so much cheaper and the vet appt itself was cheaper and such a better environment. We just got the results back and she indeed does NOT have giardia. Who knows if she ever did?? I do not recommend ever using Brown Vet.

Took my dog here for a pre surgery exam, the receptionists didn’t say anything for a good 5 minutes when I walked up to the counter. Took me back to exam room and it smelled like straight pee. Extremely outdated and still on paper charting. The exam room was basically falling apart as you can see in the picture while waiting, I overheard a staff member in the hallway say, “ UGH , it’s time to go feed these heathens”. Like I’m sorry, isn’t that your job?! My dog was so scared, she hid between my legs the whole time and she has never acted that way. Barely any petting, no treats given to her to calm her down. 2 stars because the vet was nice to me at least but definitely would not recommend.

Great place for your pet! •Friendly and helpful. I've take my pup here since we've had him and I've never been dissapointed. I'm always greeted with a smile. On several occasions my puppy peed out of excitement and the staff there was kind enough to clean it up (Even though I'm sure they weren't too happy about it). •The facility itself looks good. It's not like other vet clinics where you might be worried the double as an experimental mad science lab. •Doctors are knowledgeable but can put things in laymen terms (you can understand what they're talking about. •They board here! I personally love this perk. I don't have to worry about having my dog in incapable hands. I like this place and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality Vet clinic.

Brown Veterinary Hospital has taken care of our dogs for the last 4 years, through happy times and very sad ones, as well, and the care has always been fantastic. We sadly lost 2 of our dogs to old age while at Fort Carson and Brown dealt with their deaths sensitively and made a terrible event a bit easier for us by being so understanding and caring. And they've helped us integrate our 2 new rescues into the family with great veterinary care and advice about behavior issues. We just relocated to the east coast but if we're ever lucky enough to find ourselves in Colorado Springs again, we'd be honored to have any of the caregivers at Brown Veterinary Hospital handle our sweet doggies! A friend referred me to Dr. Gross at Brown Veterinary Hospital after my original vet closed her practice. First, the facility is conveniently located,bright and immaculate. The staff is pleasant and efficient. I was seen on time each time I have been there and was able to get appointments soon after the day I called. Dr. Brown has the type of calm, relaxed, friendly manner with my dog that you would expect from a vet. He gave me the information I needed and didn't speak to me in the patronizing way human doctors so often speak to their patients! Veterinary care is expensive. I didn't think the fees here were much different than what I paid my former vet. I will continue to take my dog to Dr. Gross.

The first thing they cared about wasn't our amazing dog but some stupid green paper. If money wasn't a concern, perhaps there may have been time to rush our dog to emergency care and save him.

We originally called this vet because they were close and they had a high Google ranking. Our friends had also used them in the past. Our canine family member had been seen here before with some issues and drugs were prescribed that we could get filled at the Walmart. Well, we came home today and our family member really needed help in a bad way. We called Brown Vet immediately and someone from the staff named Terri answered the phone. I’m not sure what Terri’s vet background is, but she checked out my family members chart and told me that if she seemed okay, then we could make an appointment for the following day. My spouse made the appointment for the following day, but after I received a little more details about my family members symptoms, I recommended my spouse to get her in ASAP. Well, this highly acclaimed neighborhood vet, specifically Teri, told my spouse sorry, they couldn’t fit us in but we could drop her off and hope for the best. My spouse also told me that Teri was rude, unprofessional, and had an attitude towards her. If we would have dropped my family member off based off of Terri’s recommendation, my family member would have had a seriously painful and lonely death. Well Teri, since I just had to euthanize my family member tonight, thanks for nothing by the way, I will start taking my other canine family members to the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs from now on. Their highly competent and compassionate vet, Dr. Dan and their very professional staff, made this very sorrowful event a little more doable. They treated us all with dignity and respect in which people in this profession should. I would highly recommend never using Brown Vet services for anything other than getting directions to another veterinary’s location.

I changed the vet I had been going to for many years about 6 years ago to Brown's. One the best decisions I have made in my life. Dr. Gross has become not only my vet but also my friend. On at least 3 different occasions he saved the life of one of my pets. While he can't save them all due to age & cancer (no vet can), I know everything that can be done has been done. Dr.Gross genuinely loves animals and cares about them and their owners. Dr. Gross goes above and beyond the norm. He has compassion. He understands how very dear my pets are to me. He will be my vet for life. His staff is also very kind, very caring. Four years later. My review still stands. Dr. Gross recently saved the life of a stray cat I found that suffered multiple wounds from a fight/attack. Poor thing also had infections. I know he would have died had it not been for Dr. Gross. Dr. Gross is like a young country vet. He is my hero!

The veterinary team are great here. Took my baby Cabo in for an ear infection about a year ago, they gave him medicine and we was back to his normal energetic self. Recently took him back for a check up on other issue and they gave a bunch of medicine, which has helped him get better. The staff took the time to call me to check up on Cabo later in the week. They have seen Doctor Gross since that time and there is no better care that an animal can receive than what they get from Doctor Gross and the staff at Brown VH. Our one beagle needed eye surgery due to what we believed was tumors and we can't believe the care and love that she received from Doctor Gross. He treated her as one of his own kids and always talked to us about his concerns and what he felt was best for her. He has done a couple of surgeries on her and she has received the same care and love as she did during that first eye surgery. No one and nothing could every stop us from taking our pets to Doctor Gross and the staff at Brown VH. They are all the best!!!

The whole experience went really well. The front-desk people actually knew what they were talking about and were very helpful. They weren't just there to process payments - they knew something about animals. I saw Dr. Hoffman and she was wonderful with my new dog. She got down on the floor and was very gentle. She also answered all of my questions. I would certainly return. Update: I just went back and saw Dr. Johnson. Again, it was a great experience. I've gone in multiple times just to ask a question, buy some food, or get a copy of paperwork and they've always been helpful and punctual. I would recommend this vet x1000 :-) Update: I've been to Brown Vet almost 10 times in the past year (for both my dog and cat and various foster animals) and every time has been great. They recently went through a renovation and the entire facility is now even nicer. I most recently saw Dr. McNabb and she was wonderful as well!

April 7, 2019, Sunday; 4:04 p.m. Dear Dr. Gross, Jeff if I may, in Octo-2014 I met you over an ear hematoma of my collie Pastushok. You were personable, caring, did a surgery. And so yesterday I went to your hospital. Pastushok started heavily limping last Thursday, April 4, 2019, and for a few days he was throwing up, on Friday even water. I was told to leave him. Later Dr. McQueen called and told me that it was “arthritis and a little stomach bug.” After the visit, Pastushok readily ate recommended chicken & rice, and then threw it up. Today, April 7, 2019, he refuses to eat even chickens. As it is my 4th dog, I know what it means: Pastushok is dying a slow death, drinking and throwing up water, and eating nothing. Dr. McQueen, over the phone, told me yesterday that if he is not better on Sunday, to bring him in on Monday. PRICE $$$$$. Saturday charge was almost equal your charge that included surgery. In addition to normal charges for “Professional Service Exam”, a shot and expensive meds, Dr. Nicole McQueen decided to add $165 for “General Health Profile + spec CpL” for the total of $362.48. (About this much I paid them for SURGERY in 2014.) So, carrying Pastushok to you tomorrow will bankrupt me and do nothing to help my dog. My diagnosis: he has cancer. UNCARING Vet Nicole McQueen did not meet with me at all, not for one second face to face, when I brought in my dog, and when I picked him up. GROSS MISDIAGNOSIS by Dr. Nicole McQueen: “A little stomach bug” and “Arthritis”, when I felt it was cancer! In 1989, my first collie Kolya could not be diagnosed by Dr. Barton. I took him to Colorado State University, Ft Collins. Young Assoc. Prof. squeezed his stomach from head to tail and told me Kolya had cancer. Tests confirmed it, as the Prof. predicted, Kolya lived for exactly 4 weeks. So, here we are. If you have any suggestions, welcome to share them here, by e-mail [snip] or by phone [snip]. I am losing my friend of 10.5 years, and at 70 will never get another one. Yesterday’s diagnosis by Dr. McQueen was … let me not qualify it. But it was nothing near your personal attention in 2014 or CSU Prof. in 1989. It is easy to charge a lot while not seeing me for a second and NOT carefully testing Pastushok for cancer. Apologies for writing to you here, it is the first and last time. April 7, 2019, Sunday; 6:59 p.m. No longer need to reply, Pastushok has just passed away. Ask yourself whether Dr. McQueen's' conduct was dictated by greed or ignorance, or both. "Little stomach bug"? "Arthritis"? When a beautiful animal was hours from death. I knew, I felt the end approaching without DVM degree. But so-called “Dr" McQueen failed her duty. It was easy - she has never looked me in the eyes, never showed up even for a second.

I also have not taken my animals to this place for veterinary care, only boarding. The woman at the desk was friendly as well as the technicians. That's all I have for the one star. If I could give negative stars for the boarding, I would. I left my cat & dog there for some time while waiting for our home on base to become available. I had asked to take my animals to the back so I could see where they would be staying/kept. They all looked at me like I was crazy and they made a small ordeal over me being cautious. My dog was kept in a room filled with other dogs in cages just like his. Not much room. It smelled of feces and urine. It was unbelievably loud, not because of the other dogs barking (that's expected), but because the workers had music BLARING in that room. It made my ears hurt it was so loud. They don't get any outside time, so they're expected to use the bathroom on a cement floor. I feel they shouldn't have to pee/poo in the spot where they spend all day. They are put into a smaller cage to sleep at night. My dog was not happy. Next, the cat room. They each get their own very small cage. They get a rag to sleep on, a tupperware bin with a paper towel in the bottom for a litterbox, a hotdog carton for a food bowl, and a dish of water. My cat clung to me as if she knew how bad the condition was. I will NEVER leave my animals here again. Too expensive for getting basically no care. Just enough to keep them alive, not happy.

We just moved to the Broadmoor area and needed a vet that was convenient, we just happened to choose Brown's and LOVE them! They are kind and gentle... the office is super clean and quaint! They don't push extra services such as tests and such. Instead, they talk to you and really discuss the issue. I would highly recommend them!

Everyone there, Especially the owner and veterinarian, Dr. Jeffrey Gross, The front desk staff (Both Tanyas, Terri, and Adrian), and long time expert groomer (and all the support staff and technicians), Charlie, are SO fantastic at not only being great at their jobs, but, they are ALL such wonderful people, that I cannot recommend them enough. All of my extended family, and friends (several different people, with many different pets), from tropical fish to ferrets, cats and dogs of different pedigrees, you name it, they are true experts at what they all do. And, they are the kindest people you could ever meet. They truly care, not only about pets, but also about their people "owners." You honestly, cannot find a better Veterniarian or staff anywhere! Please try them out, they are the absolute best!!!

We have been using Brown Veterinary Hospital for over 20 years. It is conveniently located near our home. The staff is wonderful---from the reception staff to the technicians and veterinarians. We have been able to get same or next day appointments. The place is clean & cozy. We had one of our dogs put down and were able to stay with her until the end. The staff made a plaster mold of her paw print as a beautiful remembrance. Where else can you find such caring, loving people who understand that our pets are part of our family?

I had to board my 3 cats when an unexpected family emergency took me out of town. One cat is on medication and had to be watched closely and given medications twice per day. I had to extend their stay and that meant the staff had to order the special compounded medicine and get it delivered. Everything went without a hitch. Plus, the staff truly likes our pets.
